Q: Computer constantly freezing on startup. No idea how to fix.

Made a thread about this in here, but I dont think it is malware related. So I'm going to remake it here without the DDS log.

Hi there guys I've been having what has to be the most frustrating freezes on startup in all history. I have this freeze that will happen on pretty much any mode that isnt PURE safe mode. Meaning that if I load up in Safemode Networking this freeze will happen there as well. But what happens is this
The comptuer starts up and gets to the windows 7 loading screen. I'll Try to login, at which it attempts to load up everything VERY slowly. At this point I'm at a bit of a time limit. If my pc doesnt fully load up in a certain time frame it will freeze. Whlie it's loading everything loads up slowly and I have a very small amount of time to load up an MP3 file. If I dont load up a song to play within this time frame and loop it infinitely, my comptuer will freeze without question at least 95% of the time. 5% of the time it MIGHT load up completely. But so far the load up mp3 loop forever trick is the only thing preventing my comptuer from freezing (If I can get that far).
 
As it stands i have no idea what is causing this problem, it's so bizarre... Please help!

My computer freezes up randomly. I never know when it is going to freeze. Usually everything freezes in an instant. Occasionally I can 'see it coming' because my cursor freezes for a second, then moves and then freezes again permanently.

I tried the rootrepeal but it would not load - it gave me an error message "FOPS - DeviceIoControl Error - Code: 0x0000024 Extended info (0x000000d0)
Under details it showed:
FOPS - DeviceIoControl Error - Code: 0x0000024 Extended info (0x000000d0)
DeviceIoControl Error = 0xie7 or maybe 1e7?

ANyway - any help would be WONDERFUL! I really appreciate it.

i have a small question for a big annoyance,

i had a problem with the computer not long ago, and i took it to get it fixed, in which what im told a new mother board and power supply were put in, and after hooking everything back up i noticed that every once in a while the computer would just freeze up so i would like to know why if anyone knows.

Every time I startup this computer, Its toshiba labtop and Im running vista. Im not as familiar with vista yet as I am XP. So anyways, its suddenly the last few weeks always trying to update to restart and update these 1 of 3 updates and if you just did it when its done and restarts its asking to restart and redo it again? So everytime I restart it or turn it back on it goes through this whole process of configuring updates 1 of 3 takes 10 - 15 minutes thenafter its done and you think its gonna start up it says "Your computer was unable to start"
Startup repair will check your system for problems ...etc.
That process takes about another 15 min. Then it'll start up but it'll tell me it needs to restart and configure new updates???
Around the same time the computer started doing this, I started getting popups and freezing and not respondings all the time. It gets beteer then worse. Irun disc cleanup and defragmenter all the time, I clean temp internet files out, Im not sure if I got a bug or what. The same time it started doing that it stopped letting me connect to the wireless interenet without mt little usb adapter. I have wireless on this laptop and never needed the adapter but suddenly it wont connect without it. I got another laptop that connects to the same internet perfect with no problem so I know its not the router thing. Can anyone help? After doing a malwarebytes anti malware test, my computer freezes/crashes every now and then. I'm not sure if its just coincidence but I'm a bit worried.

When the freeze starts nothing is clickable except windows explorer, then when i click on it that freezes as well. If I have a youtube video playing the sound will continue but not the video and sometimes the sound will stop.

Also when it freezes and I press ctrl+alt+delete nothing happens. And sometime after clicking things and it not responding the stuff I clicked will open when the freeze stops.

It it someting to do with my CPU, RAM or hard drive?

I have two hard drives btw. A ssd which has my OS and some games and programs on. And an old 1Tb normal hard drive for more programs, games etc.

At the moment, my C drive (the ssd) is on 90% usage or above all the time, even when everything is closed, could that be the issue?

Ten minutes after that my C drive stays around 0-10% usage while I'm not doing anything on the computer???

Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me advice.

I am currently using windows 7 with a nividia graphics card and ASUS N1 3219 motherboard (which I believe is made for HP)

however windows keeps randomly freezing, this happens in win 7, I have also tried a fresh installation of XP And vista and the same thing happens, it simply locks, no blue screens/errors etc so hard reboot needed.

I have taken all insides out and re pasted the processor chip (amd quad core)

I have done tests on the hard drive and hard disc.

I dont (think) it is an overheating problem, well 90% sure its not.

the graphics card did go through a noisy fan stage, however has been cleaned and was doing it before the freezing started and now appears to work fine.

Anyway, I have no idea what is wrong with it, any help would be appreciated or idea's on how or what to fault find next to remedy.

Please post complete specs of the system in question including PSU type/model etc.

Stress test your graphic card with OCCT, and RAM with memtest (you can find it in techspot's download section). Run minimum of 8 passes on each individual RAM Module.

Also ensure that your RAM's specs are correctly set in BIOS.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5919 with Windows Vista. It has been freezing about every 30 minutes-1 hour. It started last night after i got a blue screen saying it was shutting down to prevent any damage. This occured while i was playing World of Warcraft and listening to Itunes. Im currently in safe mode with networking. It's not freezing while in safe mode. I also use AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It may be shutting down due to overheating. Most laptops are not designed to be gaming machines. You can try using compressed air to blow dust out of the vents and see if that helps.

HELPPPP! For the past three days I have been experiencing random freezes constantly!!! I have a Sony Viao Notebook with Windows XP. I have performed every check I can think of, but I'm not all that computer literate. I will be typing, sometimes in outlook, sometimes in WP, and the cursor freezes in space and my only option is to turn off the system. Even control, alt, delete to stop the process will not work. What's going on? I need help. I have too many projects to suffer this annoying bugaboo!

1.1Ghz
256 Mb Ram(upgraded to 384 bc of freezing, no luck)
Xp Home Sp1 Fully updated

Ok, no matter what im doing my laptop freezes constantly.
I contacted compaq, download softpaqs and flashed BIOS.
No luck, so i formatted and restored. Still freezes. No new software or hardware installed, doesn't seem to be overheating, fans are working. No idea whats going on. Can someone help me?

For a few weeks, my computer has been freezing a lot. I reinstalled drivers updated windows and software, tried everything, but is won't stop. No information related to the freezing is left in the event viewer, so I think it is a hardware problem.. My computer is less than 2 years old so a worn out hard drive is pretty much out of the question. The freezing usually, but not always occurs when the computer is working hard (serveral apps open at once, video editing, etc) and seems to occur more often when the computer has been on for a long time. The freezes usually happen every few minutes and it is driving me CRAZY! I want to pick up my computer and throw it at a brick wall because I can't get anything done! HELP! PLEASE! What is going on?! I think it could be a processor problem but I'm not good with hardware so I need help urgently! Thanks!

I have a Dell Optiplex SX280 and it just freezes constantly, the power light turns orange/yellow and i cant restart it with Ctrl+Alt+Del so i shut it down manually. I did a spyware scan nothing came up i also defragmented the computer. What could be the problem???? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

I have a Dell Inspirion Laptop that has begun freezing up. I spoke with someone that builds computers and he told me to run msconfig, which I did. I wasn't sure what to do once I got to that screen so I didn't change anything. Now, I can't get online and not much of anything will open.
Should I just re-install XP or use this laptop for a boat anchor?

For the past few weeks, my computer has just been constantly freezing every few seconds. I've run AVG, Spybot, and even downloaded and ran Norton...none found anything wrong with the computer. I also tried re-starting in Safe Mode and then re-starting again in regular mode as a friend suggested. Did nothing.

My laptop is a little over 1 year old. It's a Lenovo running Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1. Has an intel Core i5 processor, and is used only for internet browsing and video streaming.

Hey, I found way too many processes in task manager.. and the amount seems to keep increasing, so far its 41.. what should it be? on average ..
Not too long ago there was some major virus's found on the computer but it was eventually fixed, all though im still not convinced, as it still shows signs of virus', also the screen randomly goes black as if its failing to refresh, ive updated the graphics card drivers so hopefully thats fixed that problem. Id just like somebody to check the log file just so i can be sure that theres nothing wrong :)

Sorry for the delay in getting to you, the forum has been really busy lately and all our helpers are volunteers

There is no set average for running processes as these will depend on the PC and the applications installed. They will constantly increase/decrease while the computer is running, as programs (including background processes) are opened/closed. e.g. I have 42 processes running with an open browser and notepad opened. The rest are system processes, anti-virus program, firewall, anti-spyware and a few programs I chose to run at startup. Some users will tweak the startups to get down to about 25 processes but that's usually not needed unless your computer is really slow to boot up or slow at opening programs or responding to user input.

I don't see any malware in your log but I will take a further look to make sure, however..........

I notice that you have more than one anti-virus programs on your machine (AVG & Symantec). That's not a good idea!!

This messes up the machine pretty badly. Alike firewalls, anti-virus programs have conflicts co-existing with each other & may produce undesirable results. Please uninstall ALL leaving only one of them.

ALL the antivirus programs must be removed via add/remove program.
For any program that doesn't have an add/remove entry, you will have to do this:re-install the program -> reboot -> uninstall## Do NOT proceed with the rest of the fix until you have resolved t... Read more

Hello. I am having a very difficult time using my laptop. Dell Inspiron 6400.
About 1 mos ago my computer started to freeze up whenever I opened Mozilla, or up to the tool bar to change any options. The freezing would last about 30 seconds, after which things ran normal

I deleted Mozilla and started to use explorer, the problem surfaced there as well. I finally did a "dell restore" that solved the problem for a few days, but then the problems started again.

I have run memory check and the full dell diagnostics and everything comes up okay.

Now every time I open explorer up, my computer freezes for aprox 30 seconds. Also when the computer first loads up, it also freezes for aprox 30 seconds.

I did spybot, adaware, ccleaner and the trendmicro virus scan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello,

I am having a lot of dfficulty with my computer. Since a few weeks now, the computer will randomly begin to freeze. Sometimes right away after start, or when left inactive, other times it will work for hours then suddenly freeze up. I am not sure what the problem is. Last month I had trouble with my Ipod and had to reformat it, which led me to reinstall Itunes. Ever since then the computer has been crashing and I will have to restart everything.

This issue just started yesterday morning. I woke up yesterday morning to find the computers monitor (which went into hibernation) and the CPU still running (apparently soeone other than myself was on the computer and left it on overnight). I should also mention that the internet was still running as well (internet provided by my cable company)

Because the computer was unresponsive, I had to manually shut it down and turn it back own. It booted up like it normally should, but then 15 minutes after starting it up (and while I was on the internet), it froze. The mouse would not respond, ctrl-alt-delete wouldnt work either, so again I had to manually shut it down.

However, when I tryed to start the computer again, my monitor would display a message such as "No Input Signal" and 5 seconds later would go to sleep. So I was forced to manually shut it down again. I would get this same error message 5 or 6 times before the hp splash screen would come up and load like it normally should. However, the computer would only last between 5-15 minutes before freezing up again.

Once I manually shut it down for the 10th time and turned it back on again, I got an error message about some DLL's were corrupted or missing which prevented Windows XP from loading normally. So I did a PC recovery, and got XP to run again, but the computer is still freezing.

It could easily be malware, assuming that your recovery of xp was a repair and not a clean installI've ran a Spyware program (Advanced Spyware Remover I got from majorgeeks) and had 7 infections removed.Would you elaborate on this?

Hi:
 
For the last few weeks my computer has been freezing up on me constantly and I've had to restart it to get things back to "normal". 
 
I know that various things cause your computer to freeze and thought that maybe that the fact that I haven't done a defrag in a while could be the problem.  I defragged last night and unfortunately, that didn't resolve my problem.
 
I've did a full scan with Dr. Web Cureit(took around 12 hours) back in late August and a few things were found which I deleted.  Then about a week or so ago I did a full scan with Malwarebytes and it found a few things and I thought that was that. I don't know what else to do.
 
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I totally forgot the process of how things are done when asking for help if you think your computed is infected. I've since download DDS and used it.
 
As far as the scan goes I'm in the dark about what could be the problem with my computer constantly freezing a couple of times every day.
 
 As I said in my first incorrect post, during the last few weeks my computer has been freezing up on me constantly and I've had to restart it to get things back to "normal".
 I know that various things cause your computer to freeze and thought that maybe that the fact that I haven't done a defrag in a while could be the problem.  I defragged last night and unfortunately, that didn't resolve my problem.
 I've did a full scan with Dr. Web Cureit(took around 12 hours) back in late August and a few things were found which I deleted.  Then about a week or so ago I did a full scan with Malwarebytes and it found a few things and I thought that was that. I should also mention that there have been these error messages popping up for Norton every few days "Symantec Service Framework encountered a problem and needed to close".  When I typed in a search I came up with the following website http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH178798
I didn't install anything as I wasn't sure that I should.

Windows updated late last night/early this morning as I turned it off. I'll also say that Zonealarm has updated.

Today, my computer is constantly freezing. All I can do is manually power it off. It is freezing about 5-10 minutes into startup.

My computer's problem is that all the programs and everything that's running suddenly freezes (programs, mouse, music, etc.) from time to time. Especially when I'm watching videos, usually on fullscreen, or on particular websites such as Twitter or those that take a while to load, are sluggish when scrolling through or have a lot of content. After it freezes, I would have no choice but to restart the computer. I tried formatting my computer, and installing the system on a new hard drive with plenty of space. I also cleaned out the dust from the CPU to make sure it's not over-heating, used a few programs and cleaned out the registry, deleted unused files and programs but nothing seems to work, the computer still freezes pretty often. After I formatted the computer, it started freezing less often and the blue screen where Disk Checking occurs stopped appearing whenever I had to restart my computer. Which means it helped a little bit to format the computer, but did not solve my problem. Hope you can help!

My dad has a computer with Windows XP on it which he runs his business off of and it is constantly freezing on him, let me get into more detail..

You will still be able to move the mouse around and you can maximize programs but once you do that you cant do anything more with them, and everything just eventually stops responding. The problem started out where the computer would freeze after being inactive for about 10 minutes, as long as he was at the computer doing something it would work fine but if he left it alone it would freeze.

Well we tried some things first to try and fix it, ran AVG but of course the computer froze during the scan. I tried to do a simple system restore, problem is the computer freezes during and it does not have time to finish it. So i went on to run a checkdisk (chkdsk /r) and had it run on startup, problem is the computer froze during the checkdisk aswell. After another day it starts freezing even when he is using it, first after about 10 minutes and now its down to 5 minutes tops. So since he has his older HDD in the computer still that he uses as extra disc space now I went ahead and booted off of that, its really bogged down like it was before he got his new computer but atleast it works. That one has a recovery console built into it so i booted off of that and ran chkdsk /r on his C drive (which ofcourse is the one we are trying to get fixed). Some problems found and repaired, great! Booted off of the drive it still freezes.

OK, well, to start with, thank you to everyone who tries to help me out with my issue, means a lot!

OK, so the issue is, my computer (recently) has decided to be a prick and at random times after start up (could be before i log in, could be in 4-5 hours) it will freeze up, nothing on the screen will load, all sounds will stop, and mouse wont respond, the only way to un-freeze it is to manually reboot the computer, it happened after i put a new graphics card in it, (nVIDIA GeForce 5500) i successfully installed the drivers and the card, and had fun with my semi-improved graphics, then came the freezing, i tried everything, even removing the card, removing everything about nVIDIA that was added, and system restoring to a factory reset. still freezing, any help once again is GREATLY appreciated, right now the card is OUT of the computer.

Specs:
Compaq Prescario SR1426NX
Intel 4 Pros.
3 GB RAM

HELP....

It has just started a few hours ago and is constantly doing it? every ten seconds it freezes and I loose control of everything. it last only a second or two and then starts all over again. Prior to this I lost ability to start Red Alert telling me "....administrator privileges...." and when I do it just doesn't start.

P.S. - heaps of administrative event errors and warning....but I don't understand any of it.

My laptop has been freezing a lot lately. All programs freeze up, I get "Computer Not Responding" when I ctrl,alt,delete. Once I close the extra programs I don't need to run, I will try to open Internet Explorer or Yahoo Messenger but nothing happens. When I attempt to restart the computer, it will shutdown to the "Sony Vaio" screen saver and then sit there until I manually turn off the power switch. Also, usually after about an hour or so, I'll get the so called "Blue screen of death" and am forced to restart my computer.

I'm not really sure what the problem is and obviously it's stemming further than this, but here's a HijackThis log for good measure:

I have just about had it with my computer, honestly. Just recently, in the past month or so, my computer has started putting my wifi into limited. For no reason. Yes, I have tried all the fixes on the main post. Yes, I've turned off the 'allow disabling' of it. It just is a mess.  Not only will it go to limited, but it will completely hard lock my computer (but only sometimes) I didn't really connect the two until recently, because I realized it always happened once the limited showed up on my wifi. I have no idea what's causing it. I've made sure it's no viruses, and I still have no clue. I really want to fix this.  Thank you.

it started a few months ago and at the time i just kind of ignored it cause i tend to procrastinate pretty much everything. but in the past few weeks i've actually been trying to fix this, and at first i thought it was just a trojan or some other type of malware. so as usual, i updated and ran spybot, but it came out clean and it still continued to freeze on me. i was adamant it had to be a trojan, so i downloaded AVG anti-virus which found and cleaned 6 trojans which i knew i had and i figured, problem solved. but it wasn't, it continued to freeze on me, no matter what i was doing. in fact the only time it really doesn't freeze on me is when i'm idle on my desktop not doing anything. so i googled frozen comps and have summarized that its either a temperature problem, a power problem, a memory problem, or a hard drive problem. so i opened my cpu and cleaned out the very little dust on the fans and made sure they were running properly, which they were, and left the bay door open just in case. yet it still froze. i made sure the power cord was firmly in it's socket and in the outlet and yet it still froze which led me to believe its an internal problem. so i cleaned up my registry and defragged my drives and yet it still froze. in fact it would freeze half way through my defrags. but the strange thing about my freezes i noticed, compared to other people's that i've read, is that when mine freezes, any music or sound thats playing continues to ... For the past few weeks my computer has been acting up; a little slow and occasionally would freeze up. A couple of days ago, it started to freeze up constantly. It's a pretty new computer (about a year old.) It's a Dell Vostro w/ Windows XP Pro, Serv Pk 3, version 5.1.2600. When it freezes, Ctrl Alt Del does nothing. A few times when I'm trying to get it to unfreeze, it starts making a loud, uninterrupted buzzing noise, something I've never had happen before.

I have no idea where to start to figure out what's causing this. I don't know if any of it's relevant, but here's some more info on the computer and what I've checked:

Memory

Total Physical Memory 3072 MB
Avail " " 2.34 GB
Total Virtual Memory 2 GB
Avail " " 1.96 GB
Page file space 4.84 GB

I also checked the following and it says OK, anywhere that it says STATUS; HARDWARE RESOURCES, (DMA, I/O, IRQ's, Memory,) COMPONENTS, and SOFTWARE.
I've cleared cookies and temp internet files and defragged it. I checked Windows and my security programs and downloaded any updates.

The O/S is Win XP It does not have MS Office installed, I use Open Office instead. I use mostly Firefox as my web browser, but I also have IE and Chrome installed (I'm pretty sure
they're the latest versions.) I have the following security programs installed:

ok so, i have no idea on how this happened. one day, i was playing a computer game (warcraft III if you must know, i'm sort of a dork in this way XD) and decided to minimize the game in order to open up windows media player to listen to some music. well, the minimizing took forever and eventually it froze. frustrated i turned the computer off. now, everytime i turn on my computer it will be stuck at the windows xp loading screen for around three minutes before going to the login screen. if i don't log in immediatly, it freezes. when i do log in a window will pop up saying i have recovered from a serious error. then, when i try to open ANY application, program, file etc., it freezes. the only way i am able to get online is in safe mode with networking, which is limited with no sound. i know this is not a virus because i have the program Deep Freeze 5 on my computer which is supposed to keep the computer at stock settings everytime i start up. i have tried using the system restore that XP provides but that has not worked. i do not want to have to re-install windows because the microsoft office i have is out of downloads and i do not have another. i currently have a Dell Inspiron 6000 and i belive i have windows XP 2001. please give me any advice possible, i really can't afford to get a new computer. I will get any other info requiered to help solve this problem.

Hello,

I've recently been having issues where my computer will stop responding at random times. I haven't yet noticed a pattern, but the most recent issue happened when I opened Facebook. If I'm playing music when the freeze happens, it starts sounding creepy and machine-like, with high-pitched noises and other strange sounds. Other windows stop responding and I can't use my computer for about 30 seconds. I'm not sure if this is Malware related or not. I haven't been to any malicious websites or downloaded anything, but I don't know what else the problem could be.

Also, I'm running Windows 7 on an HP dm4x series laptop. I believe drivers are up to date and updates are installed to Windows.

Hi, my computer freezes when I'm using it throughout the day. Sometimes it will freeze up to five times in a three hour span. It usually occurs when I am tampering with media or opening multiple browsers. When the computer is idle, it does not freeze. Here is my log. (attached) Thank you for any help or feedback. I tried starting my PC in Safe Mode and it gives me the options to select Safe Mode or Safe Mode Network, etc.... problem is, when I start in Safe Mode a bunch of Windows filenames appear and it never starts up in Safe Mode. ....? I have been good at keeping up with trying to keep my pc clean, but lately i seem to be having a ton of issues with my browser locking up and freezing. This whole thing happened out of no where I have no idea how or from what, I have preformed many antivirus scans and anti malware scans and even though I remove everything the problem persists!

I am not extremely computer literate. Mostly just an avid googler so bear with my lack of information or expertise.
My problem is that my computer keeps blue-screening and restarting. There is no correlation between what I am doing and the restarts. Sometimes I am using my computer during them and sometimes I get up to use the bathroom and come back to the login screen and an error message.
My hardware is decently old, probably 5 years. I have not taken it apart or messed with any internal components in the last month. I use my computer mostly for internet browsing and homework. Nothing very taxing. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Recently I was working on SPSS (a stats database) modifying one file over several weeks and saving changes several times per day. One morning I tried to bring my computer out of hibernation mode, as usual, but it said there was a problem and I would need to delete the restoration file inc order to resume. Since I had saved my data so often, I agreed. When my computer restarted the file was reverted back 2 weeks. I have since learned that SPSS files don't create temporary files, but still I was saving continuously so this was very strange. No other files were impacted (none were open either though). Since this time my computer freezes several times each day - every time I leave it sit. It's like it cannot come out of 'hibernation mode'. At the time of my problem, I went to run my Sophos virus software but it wouldn't start?? I then installed Microsoft's free virus program and following that avast! antivirus (based on someone's recommendation). I have run Malewarebytes too and only a couple small (apparently insignificant files, as per another IT forum user) were detected. Another issue is that my taskbar freezes too when my computer freezes. Bottomline I have two questions: (1) should I just reinstall my OS to fix these problems? and (2) I bought a new computer (as I CANNOT lose anymore of my PhD work!) and I am scared to move over my necessary files, as I worry there is an undetected virus that could affect my new computer. hi, can any pls one help me. the other day my avira anti virus alerted me of multiple attack of virus. which i denied access and moved to quaranteen. i then perform a full scan of ewido, spybot, superantispyware and avira just to make sure. although now my computer is having problem when internet explorer loads up, hang/freezes everytime and when i click my mouse i hear a beep sound and computer freezes. i tried to perform a system restore but it doesnt respond. pls help

My computer has been freezing frequently with a weird clicking sound on the speakers. Its been messed up for a while now. Before I couldn't even start it in normal mode and had to use safe mode just to use it. I managed to fix it by using system restore, but the freezing and clicking haven't stopped. I would just start it like normal and do the usual stuff on the computer, and after ten minutes or less it would freeze. If you need any info, please ask. I really need help!! I've had many problems with this computer, twice I had to have it taken in to be reformated. I'd rather not do that again so please, if you have any ideas that could help me, please post!

My computer has been freezing for a while and I haven't thought anything of it until recently when it started to freeze multiple times a day. Sometimes I would be doing something and other times I wouldn't be doing anything and it would just freeze. I've searched but I don't know what the problem is. All I know is that the light that blinks orange whenever I'm doing something goes away. Please help I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

The very first issue can be that your system is running beyond it's hardware specifications. This occurs when getting too numerous programs running at the same time. If the amount of RAM in your system cannot handle it then your computer will freeze. The simple solution for this is to run fewer programs or buy additional RAM.

Some folks ask - what if windows 7 crashes when I only run a particular program? In this case you might need to update your drivers or system. Often times compatibility issues could cause your computer to freeze up. You can check the Microsoft Windows website for the latest updates.

If windows 7 freezes at random, then this problem should be relates to the registry. When the Windows registry is full of errors it can stop your system from properly running. The registry contains the information of your computer which is used to communicate between the OS, software, and hardware devices. When the registry becomes congested with errors, the communication procedure breaks down.

The recommended solution for this sort of Windows 7 freezing would be to clean the registry of corrupt files and various errors. Not just will this prevent pc crashing, it will also speed up your system considerably.

Basically what the title suggests. My computer will work fine for varying amounts of time when streaming video (watching movies, skyping, etc) but eventually the computer starts running sluggish until it virtually freezes. This problem doesn't seem to be nearly as bad when I'm streaming movies or tv shows, but when it comes to skyping this problem has been a nightmare. I'm at the point where I can't skype someone for more than 10 minutes before my computer freezes. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be awesome.

Hello,
The other day my computer randomly just shut itself down, and then ever since has been freezing. The clock will freeze but the mouse wont, and the screen is usable for a couple minutes but then is not, and a forced shutdown is the only way to unlock. I have posted below the DDS, however the gmer wouldn't work it kept having to close, if you know a way around this please let me know. I have posted a hackthis file as well in the zipped folder. One of the things my virus scan picked up was exploit:html/repl.D but when i tried to remove it wasnt found. Please let me know if i can provide any more info. I have a dell inspiron e1505. I have a custom built computer that seems to have something wrong. It is constantly freezing, mouse getting stuck and just not seeming right. I has a GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD4-B3, I5-2500K, 120 Crucial SSD and many other Mechanical drives installed.

I had Windows 8 Pro installed and noticed the problems starting. I then installed Windows 7 thinking it maybe software, but problems persisted. What faulty hardware could it be and what tests should I start running. Memtest, what hard drive test is there for the SSD where the OS is installed. Appreciate some help on this issue.

Hey guys, recently, my computer has been freezing at completely random times during the day and always requires a hard reset to fix the problem (temporarily). I have no idea what is wrong, I have not really installed any new hardware or devices, except my iPod Touch I got around 2 weeks ago and my router I got around 3 weeks ago, but I have no idea if they are causing the problem because the freezing has been going on for around 5 days now...

Hi,

I think I have some sort of malware on my computer. It is constantly freezing on startup and I have to keep rebooting. There is also a permanent antivirusXP2008 window and the desktop has been changed. Google links have also been hijacked and I can't get onto this website from that computer (posting from a different one).

Could somebody please have a look at my hijack this log? I have tried a couple of scans (spybot and adaware) to no avail.

Hi, i'm having a really bothersome problem here, my computer is shutting down sometimes or either freezing and making weirds noises where i can't move even the mouse and i need to hard boot.

This freezes only happens when i turn on the computer for the firsts time of the day, it happens like 5-10 times and then he starts working correctly for the rest of the day, i don't have a clue what is happening, do i need to format my computer?
Sometime appeared a blue screen (i think its called death screen) here is an example

We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

My laptop is having some serious performance issues. The keyboard stops working, the mouse starts to wiggle across the screen, and it's incredibly slow. My computer is constantly freezing up. On start-up things seem fine, but after a few minutes, I am unable to interact with anything cause the cursor indicates something is trying to load, but never does and then freezes.So I have no choice but to turn off my computer. I really need help, I am trying to avoid having to do a clean install, I don't know how to backup things properly, and Im afraid I will have to re-install alot. This is my first time on a forum like this and I need specialized help. Before I go on, here is all the list of things I have tried to tried to fix the problem with:

-Disk Check
-Disk Defragment
-System Restore (no restore points)
-Virus Scan with Mcafee and Malware Bytes (viruses/malware was found and removed, but problem persists)
-Last good Configuration

I am currently in Safe Mode with Networking and everything is fine there luckily.
Now I think I might know what the problem is, but I need to know how to fix it. In the Event Viewer, I see several errors:

-Ntp Client was unable to set up a manual peer to use as a time source cause of DNS resolution error on 'time.nist.gov,0x9. The error was: no such host is known (0x80072AF9)

-The shadow copies of Volume C: were aborted cause of an IO failure on volume C:

-The shadow copies of Volume C: were aborted during detection because of a critical control file could not be opened

it used to work fine then about a week ago it started to freeze. i thought it had a virus so i tried to run a scan and it just froze again. i went on it again today and it is still freezing, i ran windows malicious software removal tool and it didnt find anything. When it freezes i have to restart it incorrectly then it comes up with a thing and asks if i want to start StartUp Repair. I do this, its fine, then freezes again and the cycle returns. Please help. I'm really worried.

Lately, I have been experiencing A LOT of problems with my computer. Programs frequently crash or run sluggishly. At times, my taskbar will crash and become frozen.

I have also noticed that I have a lot of process running (I am usually clocking in at somewhere around 45 processes). I have recently installed iTunes, which I can see has about 2 or 3 processes running at a time. I have also have recently run winUpdate and got some new files from that, but I don't know if that also has things running in the background.

I have ran CleanUp, AdAware, Spybot, and I have a Microsoft AntiSpyware constantly running in the background, so I don't think adware or spyware is the problem.

This is the only forum that I know of that can offer help for these kind of things, and you have proven to be very helpful in the past. If this is in the wrong place, I apologize.

A:Programs and computer constantly freezing or crashing... is spyware the problem?

One thing that could be causing your problems is the fact that you have both Norton And AVG running. You should never run two antiviruses at the same time. They conflict with each other and cause all sorts of problems as well as decrease your protection. You need to pick one and get rid of the other.

Also you need to disable some of those unnecessary apps you have running at startup. They are draining your computers resources.

For the last couple of weeks my computer has been running all sorts of slow, and I'm getting a lot of glitches I've never had before (recently, it appears to have shut down when I turn it off, but I find when I turn it back on it never went off in the first place, getting booted from browser consistently, etc). I also get an error message whenever I shut down about 'protector.exe' not being able to close, and when I tried to look it up I found only scary-sounding info from sites I don't exactly trust.
Anyway, not sure where to go with these problems, and I'm really hoping someone here can help. Thanks so much in advance for any input you can give!

I have a 2 year old Dell desktop Dimension E521 with Windows XP. Recently it has been freezing several times a day, sometimes while on the internet (with both Firefox and Internet Explorer), sometimes when just working on a Word doc, sometimes with nothing open and the screen saver is on. When I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del the task manager doesn't even come up and I have to press the power button on the tower to get it to shut off. Ran several virus scans (AVG, avast!) and they say no virus, but a friend who is good with computers said it sounds like a virus. Cannot do a system restore, it goes through the process and then says "unable to restore to specified date". I have tried at least 10 dates and none work. A few times after it freezes there is a loud beep coming from the tower, I read in a previous forum that could be a fan problem, but I am also having other issues besides the beeping. Any ideas what I should do?? Thanks MP

So, this problem has been happening for a while now, I've ignored it but now it's bothersome.

So my computer starts out logging on, sometimes it'll take a long time on the splash screen, sometimes it'll freeze on the splash screen, but now more recently, it's just gotten to the splash screen, not turned off, and restarted itself back to the start screen. It comes up with the problem of Windows not shutting down properly and asks for system repair or normal startup, but system repair doesn't help at all because it gets to the background screen and system repair doesn't pop up. This is bothersome, obviously. It hasn't turned on since. This has been happening for the first time just today.

In Peerblock I keep getting pinged by 3 different "Ranges" constantly every day the moment I log into the internet and I have no idea what to do or what is causing it.
 
The three ranges that are pinging me are:

clitparade.com

Startup repair has done nothing, and I'm stuck in a rut since I lost the password to my account on the PC a couple years back and have no idea what it is. I highly doubt it's a virus or malware since McAfee hasn't alerted me to anything, and in the past couple of days the only website I can remember visiting is Microsoft support for Xbox help, anyways, I believe Fallout 3, which I recently installed, and isn't optimized for Win 7, is the root of my problems. It was working without trouble until today, it crashed on startup and I restarted my computer, but got a BSoD while it was logging in. Startup repair said that unspecified changes to system configuration might've cause the problem. But, if I can access my hard drive and uninstall Fallout 3 I'm moderately confident that the problems will subside. Thanks.

I have a HP Pavillion dv9417ca Notebook PC with AMD Turion 64X2 Mobile Technology Tl-56, 2.0G Ram, NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 with Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP2.

The computer when running slowly makes a ton of noise starting up and running and tends to use more processing. The computer sometimes makes weird noises that aren't normal windows sounds and come from error's. Like intense beeping noises ocassionally. Firefox especially is insanely slow and the longer I run it the more processing power it uses up along with the plugins.exe. Sometimes it will uses so much that it completely freezes my computer. Lately I've also been having trouble starting the computer where it won't even load windows.

I've ran Ccleaner daily and Malwarebytes weekly and find nothing and the problem has been getting progressively worse. I have Avast which updates daily.

Well here is the problem I am having. When i start my computer it turns on fine but once i hit the
start windows normally button it goes to the starting windows screen but never goes to my user accounts screen because its freezing. So I have tried a number of things I have did safe mode and safe mode with networking this works but after 10 minutes my computer freezes up and I cant do anything but restart my computer and go through the same thing over and over again. I looked up possible causes and saw something that said it might be outdated drivers but I dont know where to find the correct driver and I dont want to mess my computer up anymore than what its is. If anyone can please help!!

A few days ago it started with the computer screen going black (this happened twice). After restarting using a point in time that the computer was healthy everything works fine for maybe 2 to 10 minutes. If I try to run any virus scans the computer freezes. I Have an athlon 2600, asus motherboard, 1.5 gig ram, ati radeon video card and xp pro sp2.

For the last month or so, my computer will not completely boot at startup. It freezes in various stages, however, usually just before windows would open.

When I hit the reset button it almost always boots okay and I am ready to go.

During the day and evening I can restart or turn off and it will come on okay.

Computer is not sluggish when I finally get it up and I have had no error messages or any problems when doing anything.

Norton and other malware programs are not finding any virus or malware.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Like i said in the title my computer keeps freezing during startup. The same thing happened around a 2 weeks ago, so i switched it off and forgot about it for a week or so, then when i tried turning it on it worked fine for some reason! that was a few days ago and now it wont start up again. since it started working it would randomly freeze after about an hour or so, which meant i would have to restart it which would usually sort it out for a while. im not sure if its of an relevance, but i have noticed that when the computer freezes, it makes the sort of beeping sound when you switch it off? not sure if i explained it very well! does anyone know what could be causing this to happen? could it be a hardware fault or something? jjust to let you know it is quite an old pc, with single core amd processor. its around 5 or 6 years i think! and sorry for the one large paragraph, im having to write this on the ps3's browser which isnt the best for forum posting!

These files can be analyzed for clues.
Anything that occurred at the time of the crashes under event viewer? Start > RUN > eventvwr ? Look for red errors.
At what point in the boot process did it happen? Did you see the Windows logo?

For starters you could test the RAM with a MemTest 86 boot CD. Or some computers, like Dell, have built in diagnostics that test RAM.

Error check the drive.

Restore points are not working. I cleaned my computer of spyware and it didn't help. Pc-cillin isn't working properly so I can't do a virus scan. Please help I'm not too good with computers.

If your power supply did not come with your computer:

Is there any possibility that you may have the positive and negative reversed on your power supply? The output ends are adaptive on some to fit different holes and even if it is the right hole the poles may be plugged in backwards.

Or, if it is multi use do you have it on the right voltage selection?

My ASUS laptop is about 2 yrs old, and over the past week or so has been freezing anywhere from 5-45 min after startup, every time, and i cant do anything but shut down. It freezes whether or not I'm doing anything, either at the moment or for the whole time its on. I thought it might be overheating, but it doesn't feel hotter than normal and after I took the back panel off and sprayed the dust off the problem didn't go away. When it freezes, the open program and the start button stop responding, but the mouse can usually still move. ctrl alt del doesn't usually work, and when it does none of the options work wont open. I've also tried running virus scans, but they always freeze at 70% and take the computer with them, so it could be a virus, but even if it is I'm not sure how I could remove it before my comp freezes. Right now I'm using expressgate, which has been working fine. Any help would be much appreciated and I expect would be rewarded with karmic bonuses of some sort. Thanks

Hi,
Yesterday I got warnings from my anti-virus (avast) about the trojan named in the topic title.
Soon after this my computer stopped working.
Each time I load windows in normal mode it freezes within minutes. It first slows down, so I cannot click anything, then completely freezes.
In safe-mode I can work without this problem for much longer. But eventually the same thing happens.
I have tried running virus/malware scans using a range of programs. None are now detecting anything, however the issue still remains.

I posted this in the windows vista section but was told to also post it here to see if it is virus related...
Thanks to anyone reading this and I hope someone can help,

I usually do not turn off my laptop, I just close it and let it hibernate. Yesterday I was trying to log on to a different internet connection than usual and it wasn't working so I turned my computer off and booted it back up and that is when the problem started. I have got my computer to the point where I can start it normally and get to my desktop and everything loads fine, then about a minute after loading everything freezes. When I click on something my cursor just changes to the "loading" one and I can't click on anything else, then after about another minute my computer just gets covered by like a see through white screen and is unresponsive. If I try to ctrl-alt-delete before this screen comes up then it just takes me to a black screen with just my cursor.

I can load my computer in safe mode just fine and that is what I am on now. I ran spybot and it deleted a couple minor things that didn't affect anything and malwarebytes found nothing. I did a system restore back to 10/2 and it didn't help anything. I've also tried disabling startup programs, which seemed to let my computer work for a couple minutes longer but it still froze in the end.

Any suggestions?

i am trying to help a friend with a computer problem, so i'm sorry if i don't have all the info at the moment. i know that it is an HP pc that is about 2-3 years old.

basically the problem is that their computer freezes during startup, before loading windows, on the HP screen that says F1 for set up. The computer is not able to do anything beyond this screen and the comp makes an annoying flatline sound.

I took a brief look at it and the only thing i noticed was that they need to replace the power supply fan.

I am just looking for any suggestions for why this might be happening and possible ways to fix it.

So hey guys, i am not the most computer savvy terminology person so i'm going to need some help here, about 2 months ago my computer kept freezing on the loading screen right before the desktop or right after i hit "Start windows normally" after it freezes the oly thing i can do is restart it again, after everytime i restart it the loading goes a little further but then freezes again, most of the time it freezes before getting to the desktop or even at the desktop sometimes. hello here is a HJT log...not sure if it's malware.. or what hopefully someone can help determine. Thanks to anyone reading this and I hope someone can help..

I usually do not turn off my laptop, I just close it and let it hibernate. Yesterday I was trying to log on to a different internet connection than usual and it wasn't working so I turned my computer off and booted it back up and that is when the problem started. I have got my computer to the point where I can start it normally and get to my desktop and everything loads fine, then about a minute after loading everything freezes. When I click on something my cursor just changes to the "loading" one and I can't click on anything else, then after about another minute my computer just gets covered by like a see through white screen and is unresponsive. If I try to ctrl-alt-delete before this screen comes up then it just takes me to a black screen with just my cursor.

I can load my computer in safe mode just fine and that is what I am on now. I ran spybot and it deleted a couple minor things that didn't affect anything and malwarebytes found nothing. I did a system restore back to 10/2 and it didn't help anything. I've also tried disabling startup programs, which seemed to let my computer work for a couple minutes longer but it still froze in the end.

Any suggestions?

Just for the heck of it, reboot and leave it alone for 10 minutes. Is it still frozen at that point? If not, let us know. If it is, try a selective startup:

Open msconfig and on the General tab choose "selective startup" (uncheck all three items) and reboot. Does the problem still occur? If not, start adding items back to msconfig one or two at a time, rebooting after each change, until the problem reappears and you'll have identified the offending process. This is clearly a time consuming procedure, but it is the best way to determine if some process loading with the system is the cause of your problem.
After you've isolated the cause, do not use msconfig to permanently disable the process. Instead, if it is a service go to START - RUN and type: services.msc (then press enter) and disable the service OR, if it a program, you can download & run a simple app such as Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml) to enable, disable, or otherwise manage startup programs.

For probably about a month now my computer has been freezing up at startup, or when i start to open up web browsers. It only freezes up the first time i start my computer in the morning, or if i start it up after leaving it off for a while. After i power it down i can restart it and use it for the rest of the day without it locking up on me. There have been a couple times though that i also get a blue screen. Also, when my pc froze up yesterday, i tried to restart but it took me to startup repair saying windows couldn't load up. It ended up doing a system restore on it's own and it seemed to work again, but that type of thing worries me.

The error i noticed it says on the blue screen was "Driver IRQL less than or equal error" I've tried to look online about this error but people say it could be a number of different things.
First i updated my nvidia drivers, i also ran memtest86 with no errors found, i than ran chkdsk /r and although stage 4 seemed to go REALLY slow it said it found no problems.
Not sure where else to go from here.

I am on a Dell Latitude D830 using XP and I am in need of some help. The computer's battery doesn't work apparently because it needs to be on the charger to be on. So one day I had it on the charger and it worked fine and everything was okay. I turned it off (which I RARELY did) to move from one place to another (houses). When I turned it on the next day it gave me the startup screen with the options (start in safe mode, recommended mode, etc) and whichever one i do it freezes at system 32 mup.sys (or something like that)I am in desperate need of help and I'm running out of time to fix it! Ok about 2 weeks ago I restarted my computer and every since it has frozen up on me right after I sign in. Well actually it doesn't freeze up until I try to right click anywhere on the screen. When I try to left click an icon the hour glass just comes up for a second or two and then just goes away. Also an internet explorer window used to come up on startup but it no longer does so. Hello,It is really important you follow my next steps in the right order without missing any step!Actually it doesn't suprise me at all that your computer crashes. This can be caused because of malware, but in your case, the main problem is not only malware but the fact that you have 4 Antivirusscanners installed with Auto-protect enabled. Bitdefender, Norton and AVG and Antivir. I am running an HP Pavillion dv4 1225dx with 64bit. It started freezing a little bit after startup. Everything still shows the windows I have up just starts saying its not responding and then finally the mouse still moves but just starts spinning and ctrl/alt/delte doesn't work either and I have to shut it down by pressing the power button. Then the audio stopped working and even somehow disinstalled itself. I have run malwarebytes, AVG, superantispyware and have come up with Mal/JavaJar-A, Mal/Fake AV-EA, Adware.Hotbar, and Trojan.Dropper. I deleted them but somethings are still off. I tried to download another IDT audio driver from HP website but while installing it, it says that access is denied. Therefore, I think there is still trojans or viruses on my computer. I have run HiJackThis and have a log.

If you can get into device manager, you can right click on your computer name at the top of the list and click on scan for hardware changes. This should find your hardware and install the drivers automatically. You can always resort to a reinstall of your os.

I'm not exactly sure if this is meant for this forum, but I have had my computer for almost a year now and recently I have not been able to get it to start. It will get to a screen that says, "Windows recently failed to start" Then, it gives two options: Start normally and launch start repair. I have tried both and neither work. I haven't changed anything recently except I downloaded java 6 u29 while having Java 7 on my computer. Also, I have tried resetting it with the reset button on my case several times. I also tried resetting my bios with no success.

Lat night my computer started to freeze after it was starting up and would just sit there not letting me click on anything. The problem is every time i start the computer after a few minutes it just randomly freezes and i have to restart. I have run virus scans and it says there is nothing wrong, i defragmented my hd it didn't work i even tried a system restore and I'm still having the same problem.

Hi I have recently reformatted my computer and installed all the drivers and flashed my BIOS. After 5-10 minutes of windows starting up, my computer just freezes and i cant do anything. Does anyone of any suggestion on how to tackle this problem?

A few days ago my computer was completely fine for months. I went to work and when I came home I turned on my pc. After a few minutes the computer froze. Forced a hard reboot and again. a few minutes after it freezes again. This time when I did the hard reboot I got a BSOD. I restarted and things were looking fine. I figured if it continues I would seek help. Computer was fine all day. I went to work and came home, when I turned on my PC the fans started and I heard the beep but the monitors, keyboard, and mouse did not turn on. So again I rebooted and was forced to do the windows recovery thing and it is was working fine for about 15mins and then computer froze again. So now I'm having to restart 2-3 times after login just to use the Pc for the day and repeat the next day.

Windows Defender Offline
Install the latest WHQL of the display driver only.
Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features3D Vision Control Driver
3D Vision Driver
Graphics Driver
HD Audio Driver
PhysX
nvidia Update
(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Download 320.18 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:
Update Realtek network driver from Realtek, take the Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program (SID:1581786).

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Let us know the results.

Im running a core 2 duo, 2 gigs ram, 8800 gts, etc.. Everything has run fine until recently. I startup my comp and its terribly "touchy" the first like 10-15 minutes, everything lags up easily and runs dead slow.

Hello, I'm currently having an issue with my PC freezing a couple of minutes after startup, while I'm on the desktop screen. I have no issue, however, running the PC in Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, I've run a Kaspersky virus scan and a MalwareBytes scan and found no infections. I have also tried to do a system restore but this did not solve anything.

If you have any suggestions on how to fix the problem, please let me know. I have tried contact Dell's tech support and they've suggested I do a clean reinstall of Windows - I would really rather keep this option as a last resort if possible.

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 620S running Windows 7.

Well this has been happening for a couple months now. Its just really annoying. Whenever my computer has been off for example overnight, and i turn it on the next day its freezes during startup when it enters my desktop with all the icons and freezes. It usually takes me a couple tries before it doesnt do it again. What could be causing this? It also sometimes freezes in the middle of doing things on the computer.
I know it isnt a temperature problem, my temps all seem to be quite cool. I've tested my ram with memtest and there seems to be no errors. I dunno if this could be a software or hardware issue.
A couple times now when it freezes and i had to power off and power on you can hear the processor running but nothing is showing on the screen. Unplugging everything and turning it off and on wont work. But i figured taking out the 3 Volt coin sized battery from the MOBO and reseting it and that fixed the problem of not starting. Could it be the problem with the battery? Maybe its time i replace it?
Ive had the computer for over 5 years now and there are no other problems.
I dont have any spyware or viruses currently, i scan regularly and also defrag.

Why doesnt it freeze in safemode? it doesnt freeze up even once after 1 try. Usually takes 2-4 regularly trying to get into my desktop without it freezing up on me.




This may indicate that it's an Application causing the problem, and not hardware or MS's core system files.

Start>Run>(type)"MSCONFIG" and use Selective Startup to turn off all non-Microsoft Services and Startups. Turn on applications selectively until you maybe find out what's causing it.

Also check the log in Event Viewer, and check Device Manager for flagged devices.

I have a Dell XPS pc running WIndows 7 (64 bit operating system).  My problems began last week when the computer would not shut down properly.  I had to do a hard shutdown.  Since then, the computer would initially start normally, but within 5 minutes, I would get things to the effect of (e.g.) Firefox not responding, and things would hang.  I could not do a normal shutdown, but rather I would have to hold down the power button to shut off the computer.  At first, I was able to do a system restore to an earlier point, but the last time I tried to use a particular restore point, this failed. When I last had the computer on, something is beginning to hide all of my programs and files.  The computer will not open any application.  For the icons that are still visible, I get the message "The item you selected is unavailable.  It might have been moved, renamed or removed.  Do you want to remove it from the list?" (this example occurred with microsoft excel and mixcraft 5, as examples). I ran malwarebytes twice in safe mode but it was unable to find anything. The only way I can run my computer at all now is by going into safe mode.  I'm at my wits end.  Please help!EDIT: moved to Malware Removal ~~ boopme

My computer has been running very slow lately and even freezes most of the time when getting to the desktop in normal mode. I was able to startup in Safe mode with networking and run several scans, including A-squared and Spybot. I get an error when trying to launch Ad-Aware. Each of the scans found a few things and I deleted them. The computer is currently allowing me into normal mode, but takes a long time to boot, freezes several times before I am able to do anything, and is even freezing as I am typing this message. Below is my HJT log. Any help you may be able to give me to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.
