A:I cant view photos or pictures on certain websites

Hi michellepoolton, welcome to TSF..

does the same happen if you use a different browser such as Firefox or Opera?

Also, some anti-virus, ad-blocking software is capable of blocking certain web based features so it may be an idea to temporarily disable those to see if the same still happens.

Could you provide an example of a website where the problem occurs please?

I have Windows 7 with Window Live mail. Since I did the update for Windows Live Mail, the pictures that I try to send through email are smaller with portions of the picture cut off. They don't allow the full view of a picture to be posted anymore. How can I correct this problem? I did not experience this problem before. Thank you for your support, Tommy.

A:Portion of email pictures are cut off, not a full view anymore?

Ok, I just found this out. For those who are experiencing the same problem that I thought I did. There is no problem after all. If you upgraded your Windows Live Mail Account, your email messages now goes to a place called: SkyDrive. So when your email messages opens up by who ever you sent them to, it will open up with SkyDrive. To see the full view of the picture you sent them, they just have to double click on the picture, it will get larger with a full view. Pretty neat feature after all. This info may be of some help to some of you. Good luck, Tommy.

Weird issue. My photos (regardless if I view them in metro or a desktop folder) won't fill the entire screen. Instead there is a black bar on the left and right of the photo. How do I make images take up the entire screen? I have a Vaio Tap 20 inch all in one with the latest version of windows 8.

How do I distuingsh between the photos I just want to save, and the photos that I want to appear in my screensaver.

Thank you

A:using photos saved in 'my pictures' as screen saver

- You have to create a seperate folder where you store only the pictures you want to display
- Right-click on an empty space (not on icons or maximized applications) on your desktop.
- Select Properties from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the Screen Saver tab.
- From the Screensaver drop-down menu, select My Pictures Slideshow.
- To customize the show, hit the Setting button.
- You can change where Windows XP pulls the images from, in this case the seperate folder where you stored the images that you want in the slideshow

I have photographs on a CD and would like to view them one at a time, full screen and have the screen change to the next picture when I hit the arrow key. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Some may remember I want to project them onto a viewing screen but I'm not sure I'll be able to get a projector so I may just show them on the computer screen at work. They are doctored up (retouched) photos of a guy who's turning 50 soon and should be hilarious.

My OS is Windows 2000 Pro but at work it's XP Pro and I would like to know how to do it on both systems, if possible.

Thanks a bunch,

Hi fellow Sprouters, I'm having a major issue. When viewing full screen videos / images, in both YouTube, and just recently PPT, the Sprout crashes and restarts itself. Not sure what the deal is. Is there perhaps a driver I'm missing? It looks like I've got everything up-to-date. I'm pretty close to reverting back to its factory state. Thanks in advance! PS. I know this a problem that has been discussed before, but I don't seem to have solved the issue using the advice provided.

Basically, the little VIEW FULL SCREEN icon [arrow in a box] underneath the screen refuses to be active, and thus I cannot click on it to make the video image fill up the entire laptop screen, ie the controls disappear from sight unless I so desire.

Nor can I simply ALT + ENTER to achieve the same end.

I should note that this is a newfound problem which seems to have materialised shortly after I switched REGIONS on MEDIA PLAYER.

Any tips would be much appreciated as I do miss watching DVDs that fill the entire laptop screen.

Does anyone know how to Disable/remove Do you want to view _ in full screen? Notification bar when viewing video in full screen in IE 11 for all websites?

A:Disable/remove Do you want to view _ in full screen? Notification bar

As annoying as it is, you can't in Internet Explorer.

All you can do is select 'Always Allow' full screen for individual websites, however when you clear your browsing history it will reset that setting because the settings for it are stored under the 'History' (list of websites you have visited) section.

Microsoft Edge can remember this setting separately so that when you delete your browsing history your full screen permissions aren't also reset, but obviously that's of little help for those who prefer using Internet Explorer to Edge at the moment. And it's still not an 'all websites' setting, you still get a dialogue box for individual websites, it's just possible to remember your setting now.

Printing of the document is also fine..it's just the problem with Normal view.

Also, seems like I keep losing the positioning of the picture (network diagram created using autoshapes and MS Draw)

The above problem is not document specific but reflects in all docs files.

Also, in another document, when I double click embedded equations (written using equation editor on another PC), equation editor doesn't launch itself neither is there any error message. This problem is document specific.

I had problems with pictures not getting displayed at all. I could only see blank screen and ocassional picture. This problem was solved by reducing the hardware accelaration. This can be done by display properties->settings->troubleshoot->hardware acceleration. Try lowering it to halfway or less and see if this solves the problem. It solved my problem.

I just got the Adobe Premiere Elements 11, the video editor plus the Organizer. I was putting some photos from My Pictures into a folder in the Organizer when I noticed that the My Pictures folder was empty. Before this it had at least two hundred photos in it.

Now when I click on the My Pictures folder what comes up is an Adobe folder. If I click on the Properties I see, "This folder is empty."

I have a new HP computer with Windows 7. I have an external hard drive for the backup but I did not connect it yet.

My photos are now scattered throughout the My Documents folder. Is there a way to get everything back the way it was an hour ago?

A:All the photos from My Pictures folder are gone. What do I do?

Open up Elements and see if you can find the files in it. Photoshop likes to grab your photos and place them in order of date shot as I remember. Much like Picassa if allowed it will re-organize all your pictures as well. I too like my pictures in my folders and then bring the ones I want into Photoshop for changes then save them back to the same or alternate folders of my choosing.

Hi all,
Been having a few computer troubles, last couple of days. Up until now, I have never had a computer crash since building my machine. Occasionally I've had to force-quit a program, but never random crashes.

I've had 6 in the last day or so, though. And none of them have happened with a BSoD. The last one to happen was while watching a movie. I Ctrl+Alt+Del'd and it got stuck showing a message "preparing security options..." with the time-circle(?), but never progressed past that point.

They all seem to happen at random, regardless of what I do. When playing full-screen games, watching full-screen movies, or even just sitting idling. I've tried updating my MOBO BiOS, my gfx driver, tried taking out and setting the RAM again, and even ran a full-system scan with both anti-virus and with CCleaner.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what I should do.

I tried to upload the files from the SF_Diagnostic_Tool, but got a message saying I didn't have the correct Security Token?

If there's any other information that you require of me, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hello, would you please help me!,

I once had an earlier version of NetZero internet service and had absolutley no problems with it. I moved out of the country for a few years and put the computer, along with the rest of my things, in storage.

When I returned to the States I was informed by NetZero to install their latest version, which I did. Soon after installing it, I started having problems with photos. They wouldn't appear; all I would get was black with a faint outline of the picture, usually purplish dots. By the way, I've tried turning off the "TuroCharge" function that alters how pictures load. It is completely "off."

Then, my computer began having problems shutting down fully. It would not reach the "It's Safe To Turn Off Your Computer" message. On re-starting it, as it would go through the scandisc program, it would always go through the NetZero program's files hesitatingly slow. This is another reason why I think the NetZero program has wreaked havoc with my computer.

I began calling NetZero about these problems and all they could recommend was to re-install the program. I've done this about six times now.

I've now reached the point where when I pull up "Yahoo!" the search box is completely black, and images like photos don't come in. If I go to the New York Times on-line, not only do photos not come up, but if I try to view an article, the screen is deep purple. Now if you can imagine ... Read more

For some reason my photos are unbelievably slow to load up when I go into the files in 'My Pictures'. I also have a strange symbol in the bottom right hand corner which was never there before and I think this slowness might be caused by it? Hi,
I wonder if somebody familiar with 'Windows Pictures' can help me find my lost photos.

From a recent trip to India I had two memory cards of photos, which because they had the same number series( i e DSC 1 - n), I loaded into separate folders in Windows Picture. Wanting to merge them into one folder and therefore trying to eliminate the clashing number series, and not knowing what I was doing, I found properties when I right clicked one of the folders and then clicked hide. The folder immediately emptied and I haven't been able to recover them!

I am hoping the photo files are there somewhere. When I right click and select properties on this folder it shows a file size of 1.13gb in a location which is the folder from where they have disappeared.
Can anybody help?

I have 44 photo subfiles in my Pictures file. All photos in all the files have names, not numbers. I'm having problem w/new file containing photos of a trip on a mailboat in Casco Bay, Portland Me. I need to keep the photos in the order they were taken so I know which photos are of a particular island in the Bay. The photos are in correct order when they have the original no identification. When I save edited photos w/new names, they do not align in correct order. I have rearranged them twice & they do not stay in the correct order. The file contains 20 of the photos now but there are a total of 80 photos to be added to this file. I have had this problem w/other photo files but it's not such a problem when there are a small no. of photos in the file. I have an HP computer w/VISTA.This is turning into a big problem since I take a lot of photos.

A:Photos in Pictures File Out of Order

Would it work better to make the photos that have to stay in a certain order into a slideshow?

Vista can do that with tools already available, or you probably have the needed photo software, there are lots of ways to create slideshows. Your graphics card has to meet certain requirements in order to use that.........here is info on it:

How do I transfer pictures in Skydrive to Photos, & if I Select all of them & select Download will they still also remain in Skydrive. And what dows 'Upload' mean & how do I use it.

A:How to transfer pictures from Skydrive to Photos?

Yes. Copies will remain on your skydrive if you download them. However, if you have the skydrive app installed on your PC, it will automatically sync with your skydrive on cloud and you can treat this app just like a regular folder where you can save, share, move or copy files in and out of it.
Upload is when you want to put files on your skydrive. After clicking it, you have the option to drag and drop files into it or just do manual browse to get to the file that you want to upload.

Hello. Right, he's my problem. I've been using my parents computer for the last few months and decided to make my own user/log-in the other day. After doing so, I cut/pasted my photos folder into my new user directory (or whatever, I'm not very techie..). I have thousands of photos, my BF is a photographer, and I can view most of them. However, in one particular folder 90% of them aren't viewable! Says I don't have permission... When I log back into parents windows, I can see the photos in my directory (as they are no longer located in theirs) but there are little gold padlocks on the ones I cannot see on my log-in. I've tried changing permissions, ownership, you name it.. I've looked for help on line and tried everything. The only thing that seems to work is if I right click on each individual photo and change things that way.. but I do have a life and this will take AGES.. Can anyone help me?

If you need more information, please ask.

C.

Anyone remember the old way Windows would show photos in folders, a ton of thumbnails?

How do I get that back so I don't have to hit preview 500 times to find a photo?

A:How do you view photos in a folder

First thing I would do is to right-click on the folder that contains the pictures and then select Properties. On the dialog that comes up, select the Customize tab. There is a dropdown box there that you can select to tell Windows what kinds of files are in that folder, in your case select Pictures. In addition, in any folder, you can change the view and select how you want to see the files listed. In the Upper right hand area of the Explorer window there is an icon that looks like boxes with lines next to them. If you hover over that icon it will show "Change your view". hey guys, can anyone tell me how i can view animated gifs in 'photos'? i looked, but can't figure it out. the GIFs only appear as 'still photos'.

thanks for any help.

A:How to view GIFs in 'Photos'?

you could open the gifs in internet explorer to see them work

remember animated gifs are a series of photos - so you need to look at each photo
here are some free editors
http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page24.html#Ulead GIF Animator

and on some applications , like photoshop and gimp , they are seen as layers

what exactly do you need to do with the Gif ?

I purchased a new Dell computer a year ago and installed Trend Micro AV on it... a few months ago I started having a problem that I need help with..When I try to view a photo (in an attachment) it will download and when it should display the pic, I get a box that says. "cant display _____jpeg because it is corrupted".

I have recently upgraded my Trend Micro AV and that is all that has been installed since the computer was bought..

Another thing I need to tell you : When I received an e-mail recently with 7 photos , it let me view the first one and then I started getting the same message box when I tried to view the remaining ones.

Also when I scan photos to save to the computer (from digital photos of my own), after they scan I get the same "corrupted" message.....

Help please!!!

A:unable to view photos

That is a file association problem I think.
The system reports files as corrupt when there is no program associated.
Rightmouse click, open with, and try to open your files with whatever you have as viewer for jpg's
Let's see if that works

If you have multiple photos you want to download, press Ctrl key and HOLD > while holding, left click at photos you want to download > when selected, right click at one of the photos > click Download > at the bottom > click the pointer next to Save > click Save As > navigate to the Pictures folder > click the folder > at the bottom, click Save.

This is the craziest problem I have ever run across.............

I've been running some photos through photoshop, around 12 or so, and when I finished saving them in the proper folder, within the folder My Pictures, I decided two of them needed to be deleted.

When I right-click on these two photos, one at a time, and try to delete them, I'm asked, "Are you sure you want to move this file to the recycle bin?" I click on "Yes."

Then I'm told, "You'll need to provide Administrator Permission to delete this file." I click on "Continue."

Then I am told, "You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from the computer's Administrator t6o make changes to this file."

So, I went online to Bing and asked the question, "How do I make myself administrator of my PC?" and a window from a Microsoft Community board came up.

The URL is this......How do i make myself the administrator? - Microsoft Community

I followed all the instructions on making myself my own administrator of the folder My Pictures, yet still cannot access these two photos in the My Pictures folder.

Why is it I am denied access to these two photos? How do I change this?

For some reason the photos on our pc view too dark. It's done that since we got it. It also prints the images too dark. The images/photos are fine if viewed/printed through the photoediting software that came free with the pc (Photo Impression). If I get a photo attached with an email it views too dark also.
I'm wondering if it's Vista as we didn't have this problem (with the same photos) on our old pc which was Windows XP and I've added some to our new laptop which is Windows 7 and they view normally there too.

We've just got Photoshop Elements and whether I transfer photos from the original file on the computer or upload them from the camera to PSE they view too dark there too. However that problem I think is besides the main point - I think if I can somehow sort the original problem then PSE will be ok too.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any answers? PLEASE!

A:view photos from labtop to tv monitor

You probably didn't enable external monitor support on your laptop.

Right-click your desktop (in any empty space...don't click on any icons), and choose "Properties" or "Personalize". Go to Display Settings, and click on the large black box with the number 2 in it. Check the box that says "Extend Windows onto this monitor", and as long as your TV is set to the correct input, your desktop should come up on your TV.

Hi there,

Just a few weeks this started. I am a writer/ blogger and use lots of photos/pictures.  When I right click on any photo/picture I get an hourglass that hangs forever. At one time I got an error message that windows explorer was not working. I am totally frustrated now, having spent hours with Dell technicians who have tried basically everything I have. Virus checks, malware checks, updating video drivers. I am at the end of my rope by now. I am sure this must have an easy fix.

I would SO appreciate any help so I can get rid of this nightmare and proceed to use photos easily again. As I said this is JUST new- about three weeks ago. No new software installed- just update on video driver. I have a Dell XPS 17 (L702X)

Hey everyone, I hope this is the right area to post this.

I recently just upgraded to a new computer that's running Windows 8.1 and had all my media files (mostly photos and text documents) from the old XP computer saved on an external hard drive. I plug the external HD to my new computer and can access the drive itself, but I can't view nearly 90% of the content! Videos and music files seem to work fine, but none of the photos or document/text files will open, which are the most important to me.

The document files say "access is denied" and can't be opened and when I try to view the photos it says "Windows photo viewer can't open this picture because you don't have the correct permission to access the file location". Even when I try to move or copy&paste the files out of the external HD, it denies me.

How can I fix this problem? How do I get permission to my own files? I tried to "take ownership" of the drive...but I'm not so confident that I'm doing it right because I haven't been able to find any instructions on doing it with Windows 8.1 ... and what I'm doing still hasn't helped.

ANY help or suggestions that anyone can give me on how to get permission to view all my photos/documents again on my new computer would be awesome. I'm a photographer so I'm pretty horrified at the idea of not being able to access my photos. The drive itself works fine and all the files were acce... Read more

I can no longer view some of my pictures in Windows Explorer. I see that most of the pictures in my album say 'Quicktime' when I put the cursor on them, and I have no problems viewing them. They are actually showing the picture. But then some others which I know I originally viewed, now have an emblem (for lack of a better word) instead of the picture. When I put the cursor on the emblem it just says it's Type File . When I click on it to open it, it comes back with a message saying for me to pick out the program on my computer which created the picture or something. It lists several programs on my computer. The pics in my album are either sent to me in emails or I've copied them.

A:Help! Can't view pictures??

In this forum, go to the top of the forums, where it says Search this Forum, click it on, Type in ( red x in pictures). There are a lot of other people having problems with red x's and there are several different solutions, not just one. Read them and try them out. Hard to pick just one without knowing your system. Also, what do you mean by your not able to download a flash update? What are you using as your flash player. Probably Adobe Macromedia. If you are, go to www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome. It runs a scan of your system and lets you know if it needs an update or not. That solved my red x problem. I am assuming that this is while you are on the internet? Go to start, then my computer, your drive icon C or D usually, then click windows folder, then look for the Downloaded program files, open it. It should say Shockwave Flash object and Shockwave Active X. If it does, then you should go the the web page I gave above and do the check. It automatically runs the check.

I don't know what's changed, but for about a week now, I haven't been able to click on and view pictures on my computer. It always worked before, and I haven't fiddled with anything on here, so I have no clue what's happened.

When I click on a picture file, it gives me an error message that says, "No file format information can be found in the Registry" and it has an OK button. When I click the OK button, it opens the Microsoft Photo Editor but the window is blank, and another error pops up that says, "Unknown file format".

This happens with all file extensions - .jpg, .gif, etc. Doesn't matter which file extension the file has, it gives the error messages every time.

How do I fix this??? HEEEELP!!!

After recently burning pictures to a CD It seems that some of my pictures have "bad sectors".
Half of the pictures on the CD are fine and can be opened, but the other half cant.

I actually had a bit of success with a CD Recovery type program. It extracted a few of the corrupt pictures to my HD and they open fine. However when I try to extract the very SAME pictures again (from the CD ) they screw up and I cant open them in any picture viewer.
I dont understand why I was able to successfully extract them the first time.
There are also lots of pictures with I havent been able to extract at all. After having checked the Internet it seems there's not much hope for me getting these pics back. I would give up completely, but for the fact that I managed to salvage a few of the corrupt pics. Was it just luck?

Hi,Running Windows 7 RTM x64 on both my PC at home and my workstation at work.My PC at home has a square monitor and my work PC has a widescreen monitor.I used webapps (citrix) from home to get into work environment then remoted to my workstation.Since doing that, when I am physically at the workstation (at work), I can no longer remote desktop to servers in full screen mode.  Instead, it does a smaller window with "full screen settings".  Basically the full screen remote desktop is about 3/4 size of the monitor, not 100%.Any help appreciated.-thanks

Hi,-Start "Remote Desktop Connection".-Click on "Options".-Click on the "Display" tab.-On "Display configuation" settings, you can change the "Remote Desktop Connection" display by moving the slider from "Small to Large".-By moving the "Slider" all the way to large, the display settings will automatically set to "Full Screen".Thanks

Hello all,

I've been having a very annoying problem for quite a while now. When I play games or use any sort of full screen program, it refuse to stay in full screen and flickers to the desktop after a 10-30 minute period...I'm aware this is probably another program trying to take control, but I can't seem to pin it down. I've tried disabling startup programs through task manager and I've also tried ending background process, with no success.

Can someone please advise how to troubleshoot this issue, or let me know an easier way to find out what is going on...

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Matthew

After I installed Vista Home Premium my photos and icons all appear stretched wider horzontally, photos make everyone appear short and fat. Tech support for my laptop company Averatec charges $60 for half hour of toll support they say can fix it but it seems to high a price for tech support. My Pixals are 1024 x 768 32bit

Any tips of how I can adjust the video viewing or whatever it takes to make view normal as it it did when I had Windows XP in it would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have had issues viewing photos since upgrading to Windows 7. The message I was getting in Photoviewer was:cannot view photos in photo viewer because you do not have correct permissions. I followed the instructions in a 2007 string from TheOutcaste and ran the command: icacls *.* /reset /T /C in the folder where my photos was stored. This made it possible for me to see approximately 80 to 90 % of my photos which is GREAT. However, I still have a fairly large number of photos which are not accessible unless I go through the tedious manual task of assigning myself as the owner. I've run the command again and can see that on those photos which cannot be seen that there is a notation that access was denied. Any additional ideas on what I might be able to do in order to "release" these photos in mass...and not manually one at at time?? Thank you in advance. skyglover
