Q: Google Calendar Re-Importing Calendar Issues

Hello,

I uploaded my school calendar to my google calendar so I can see it in my android phone but i had to delete it because there was a problem with it. When I try to upload it again I get the following error message :"Failed to import events: Some of the events in this file were not imported because you had imported them to Google Calendar before. Other events in this file have been imported.."

I have looked around online and some people said to open the file with text edit and delete the "UID." I did that but it did not help. Other people say to create another calendar and share it but that is also giving me problems.

Does anyone know how to get around this problem. I really need to have my calendar in my personal calendar that I have for my google account so I can keep my self sane and not get lost in grad school. Thank you for all your help.

It seems that Google?s sync program just syncs it's calendar with the default Outlook calendar.

Does anyone know if there is any way to just sync one particular calendar with Google's? Not Outlooks default calendar. I don?t want all my personal info going over to a ?group Google? calendar.

Thanks

Hi,

Have been trying for a while to sync windows 10 calendar on my laptop with windows 10 calendar on my wife's laptop. No luck so far.

I have linked both individual windows 10 calendars with our individual google calendars, and events transfer successfully from both windows 10 calendars, through both google calendars, but will not download to the other windows 10 calendar.

Is that clear?

What I am trying to say is that I can create an event on my windows 10 calendar, it transfers to my google calendar, and then to my wife's google calendar, but it does not load on to my wife's windows 10 calendar. This works both ways.

Help will be very much appreciated. Please note that while I use my laptop a great deal I have little insight into the technicalities. It's a tool!

Here's the deal:

Outlook 2002 from Office XP SBE.

I reformatted a client's PC and only afterwards does she tell me that she had calendar items in her Outlook. Well I didn't export them to a file so I could import them later because I didn't know.

I can, however, go to the Retrospect backup and restore her PC files from the backup set. I restored her Office folder from the backup but I don't know if there's a file in there that I can use to extract the calendar items from.

Know what I'm talking about? Can I do this? If so, how? Let me know if more info would help

Thanks All!!

I have recently bought a Vaio laptop with Windows 7. I have installed Outlook 2003, with Office SP2 and Outlook Connector to mirror the set up on my previous machine that runs on XP Home. (I have used the same disk to install the program.)
I have successfully exported pst files from my old machine and imported them into Mail and Contacts in Outlook on the laptop.
I have a problem with Calendar. I have tried to import both .pst and .xls files and in each case, a dialogue box indicates that the data is being imported. But the Calendar is not updated.
This system worked fine on my old machine. Any ideas on how I can get things working on the laptop will be gratefully received. Thanks.

I have recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 2003 Teachers and Students Edition. After doing a little research on the Microsoft forum and the TSG forum I was able to find my previous calendar and address books from Outlook 2000 and transfer them so that they are accessible within Outlook 2003. However, I have been unable to import or copy all of my calendar events to the main calendar within Outlook 2003. I do not want to have two calendars within Outlook 2003 since I am also trying to sync the information with my Windows Mobile device. Can anyone tell me how to import the information from one calendar to the next so I can delete the old one?

The Basics
Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked ? the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.
My Problem
Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected ? or maybe not quite as expected. I?ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven?t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.
Very strange. Anybody know what?s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.

I'm trying to help a friend who has just installed Office 2016 on her computer, which was recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10.

She's been using Outlook.com and has accumulated a fair amount of email, contacts and calendar appointments. I've managed to get her email to show up by adding it to Outlook 2016 as a POP3 account. I was able to import her contacts into Outlook 2016 from a file called OutlookContacts.csv. Now I'm trying to get her calendar with all its many calendars and appointments into Outlook 2016.

I'm not sure why but the appointments all show up just fine in Mail and Calendar for Windows 10, even though we did nothing to put them there (as far as we know). But she'd like them to appear when she clicks on the Calendar in Outlook 2016 and I can't find any information on how to do that. I've also looked for some kind of Export function in the Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 app but I came up empty.

How do I get her calendar into Outlook 2016?

I can't be the only one who finds Microsoft *awful* at documenting this kind of basic functionality. Millions of people must have tried to do the same thing before me but if there's any information out there on how to do this, it has eluded me so far....

A:Export calendar from Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 to Outlook 2016?

You can manually export calendars from Outlook.com using a round-a-bout method I posted at this link. However, I don't think that's going to help you because what you really want to do is set up Outlook 2016 so that her email, calendar and contacts sync with (and stay in sync with) her Outlook.com account.

Therefore, instead of setting email up as a POP account and then importing calendar, contacts, etc. separately, why not just setup Outlook 2016 to work with her Outlook.com account? I haven't done it with Outlook 2016, only older Outlook versions that used Hotmail Connector, however the following instructions for Outlook 2016 seem fairly straight forward.

https://support.office.com/en-us/art...7-76d60b148b23
If she has two-factor authentication switched on for her Outlook.com account, then you may need to generate an app password from her Outlook.com account, and use that as the password instead of the actual Microsoft Account password.

If I enter an appointment on the native calendar app it is not pushing these appointments to other devices or even the browser outlook.com calendar view. Should it be doing so? It works the other way around. So if I enter an appointment on my phone (iOS) using the outlook setup on the calendar it does push the appointment to the calendar app on Windows 10. Just not other way round!

A:Mail and calendar app not pushing calendar entries to other devices

Ok, correction - it does work. Just took a while to push them out. About 30 minutes to come through. Pretty slow but at least it did it. Maybe servers are slow although I'm sure it's pretty instant the other way round !

Hello everybody,
my online outlook calendar does not sync with my Windows Calendar app. I am talking about the online calendar which can be accessed after sign-in here: Prihláste sa do svojho konta Microsoft which for me used to always take all the information from my desktop calendar app, and vice-versa, when I entered an event online, it also appeared in my desktop app. This was useful for syncing with my phone and generally accessing my calendar when not having my laptop on me. This is now impossible for me to do.

Now they don't sync and it's quite annoying, I am getting desperate and thinking of using some other app (if you have tips, tell me. I went through this: Resolve sync issues in Mail and Calendar apps in Windows 10 - Office Support it did not solve the problem. I have updates on (I apply them manually). I have Windows 10 all up to date. and all settings allow calendar to be synced. I checked if I am signed in to the same account, I only have one account in the app and the same one online.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Also, I am adding a picture if it helps, on the left is my calendar, when I access it online, on the right is my Windows App. You can clearly see that there is a lot more on the right. I just want the events to appear in the online calendar as well, as they did before...

Outlook 2007 running under Exchange server. We have a shared calendar used by all employees to show when they will be out of the office... vacations, part time, etc.

We also have Resource Mailboxes in Exchange so that when you click on the "Rooms" button when setting up an appointment, you can see the room schedule, then add your appointment to the room by inviting the room as an attendee.

The boss wants to do something similar with the shared calendar. When she puts an appointment on her private calendar that will take her out of the office, she wants to be able to press the equivalent of the "Rooms" button and have that appointment be automatically copied to the shared calendar so that everyone can see that she will be out of the office.

I've been trying to do a web search but unfortunately the search terms I have been using keeps telling me how to set up calendars, not how to pull off this trick.

Information greatly appreciated. TIA.

I have been using Outlook 2003 for many years then upgraded to 2007, which I've used for years.

Typically I would enter appointments into my calendar in my Outlook 2007 and sync that with my phone....the blueberry or iPhone 3GS....I upgraded to the iPhone4 and have put appointments into my iPhone and synced my iPhone using iTunes (which normally syncs my Outlook calendar as well).

However, I've noticed recently some appt's put into my phone were not showing up on my Outlook Calendar....more snooping and I've just tonight discovered I have another calendar named iSync-Calendar.ics! Well, that's where many of my missing appointments were found!!

So I look closer at my iPhone4 and go to settings>calendar> and look for my default calendar which is iSync-Calendar.ics!!!

I am assuming that somehow that got switched, but used to be "calendar" which was outlook.

I am hoping this doesn't happen in the future..but for now I'm displaying both Calendar and iSync-Calendar.ics on Outlook so I can see all my appointments!!

Glad I caught that tonight as I have double and tripled booked some time slots in the future not seeing them on my iPhone since default calendar was iSynch and NOT calendar and vice versa!!!

Do you think I corrected the problem? Can I sync the iSync appts into or import them into my Calendar??

I've had a persistent problem for several months since I migrated to a new hard drive. Outlook 2010 calendar is working, but only in Active List view. Any attempt to change to Preview or Calendar view produces the error message, "Could not read the calendar." Changing from Active List to List works some of the time, but inconsistently and sometimes it will hunt for the list and offer the same "Could not read the calendar." error message. This is very frustrating as I find it difficult to manage the list view and am accustomed to seeing the calendar week view.

I use an Android phone and use gmail and Google calendar to see mail and appointments on my phone. So, I've got Google Calendar Sync 0.9.4.1 running. Google Calendar Sync appears to be operating normally. I have a nice calendar view on my phone or web-based from my computer. I have tried adding the Google calendar to Outlook but it is a duplicate of the default calendar and I can't set it as the default. Also, MS Office does not permit me to delete the default calendar.

I don't like any of the work arounds. I just want the calendar to work like it should. Research discloses no real hint of anything that works including running scanpst. Scanpst does a great job at fixing the problem by wiping the whole calendar thanks very much MS.

Hey everyone new to the forum and to Windows 8. Even though there are some bumps along the road I'm pretty impressed and liking some of the new changes to the W8.

However, I have a few questions/issues with the calendar

Now I'm sure this first one is just user error because I'm still fresh and new to w8. I have all the Us holidays loaded into my calendar on the main user profile. And man do I love that! How do I get the US holidays onto her calendar as well? Thanks in advance for your help.

Also, a few other things I noticed that, maybe I'm doing wrong, or maybe it's something that windows should address in a future update:
-If multiple users are on same computer and I create an event I would like to share with my wife for her calendar under her username w/ a simple process. Seeing that they are on the same computer they should be able to just quickly share it to the other user. instead you have to send an email to only their outlook email (e-mailing it to gmail or any other account would turn it into an .ics file and useable by w8 calendar) in order to accept and add it to your calendar. should be a simple click n share option. same goes for apps and such. should be able to just click and share it over to the other user simple as pie. instead of going roundabout way with having to send an email, then click on the link ... A:Google Calendar how can I get rid of it

Google Calendar is synced with your Gmail -- they're both by the same company. So if that is the email address they are sending things to, it's not an invasion of your privacy. They just have your information because you gave it to them when you created an account with them.

As for disabling the email notifications, when you create an even there are options to disable even reminders. I use Google Calendar daily and also hate notifications simply because I check the calendar enough -- I don't need emails too.

While following directions for eliminating that Google-Analytics Search Engine Redirect, I canceled my Google account. I forgot that my calendar was part of that account. Now I can't retrieve my information accumulated over several years. Then, in a panic, I tried to sign up again using the same user email and password. I thought it might bring back the lost data. I know:STUPID!!! No Luck.

This redirect thing has been driving me insane. Now, I am really upset! Can anyone help me know what to do?

Google would be the only people able to recover that account, post to google help forum would be your only hope - unless we've got some google admins around here??

Hello,

I usually help my elderly mother out when she has problems with her computer but this time I have no clue what could be going on here. She can't get her MAIL or CALENDAR programs to work. If you click on the icon, nothing happens at all. I tried everything I could think of but no good. This seems so unusual to me. BTW, she has Windows 10 Home installed. She is not a member of the Insiders Program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

A:Mail & Calendar Issues

I have 2 suggestions :

Method #1.................A troubleshooting method.
Run system file check to look for corrupt files.
Right click at Start button > click Command Prompt (Admin) > at the flashing prompt, copy/paste this.......
sfc /scannow

> press Enter.
It will take quite sometime.
When finished, it will give you one of the 3 reports...............(paraphrasing)
1. No integrity violation.
2. Found corrupt files and repair successful.
3. Found corrupt files but unable to repair.

If report is #2. Go check if mail can be opened now.
If report is #3, please post back.

Method #2.................................. uninstall Mail and Calendar and then reinstall from Windows Store.
Use this tutorial :
Apps - Uninstall in Windows 10

Go to Option Two
Scroll to (To remove Calendar and Mail app from current account only) and use the command.
After uninstall, go to Windows Store and reinstall Mail and Calendar.

This might sound like an odd thing to be doing, but...I need to pull Google calendar information into a spreadsheet.

Currently Google calendar allows you to export in ical and XML formats but I am not sure how to get that data into rows and columns on a spreadsheet. I am basically looking to grab some of the information for a basic spreadsheet containing date, location, description. Just the basic things.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What spreadsheet are you using? Excel will open up XML files, all neatly broken out.

I have about 8 calendars - one for medical appts., one for classes, etc. I want to create one for my genealogy club. I want it to be accessible by all the members, but there are many, and I don't have email addresses for all of them.
Is there a way to create a calendar that is public for others (it can be public to everyone, there won't be any confidential information in this calendar) WITHOUT viewers who go to my genealogy calendar having access to my other personal calendars?
Thanks.

I have created a Google Calendar and shared this with my better half, giving her the authority to amend documents. We both have Google accounts. I can see my calendar on her PC, but when she added an additional entry, it does not seem to sync back to my calendar. Any suggestions as to what will make it work? (I tried asking on the Google Help, but they wanted £28 to give me an answer! - Sure!)

Many thanks,

Did you give her "make changes to events" permissions?

I have used Google's gmail & calendar for 3 years with Windows XP Pro and Vista with no problems.

A couple of months ago I took my pc to the repair shop and along with making a repair, had Windows 7 - 32 bit installed. My system is in my profile.

I was having other problems and took it back to the shop and the tech found that one of my mirrored hard drives was starting to go. I had him replace both hard drives and he reinstalled the Windows 7 32 bit and restored all my files.

With both of the Windows 7 installations, when I am in my gmail and click on "calendar"; a new window opens and behaves as if it were having an epileptic fit.
No error messages.
The newly opened window does not recover from its "fit" and I have to close it.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I need my calendar!

Thank you

There are so many things that could be wrong we need a ton more info to be of any help. when the tech replaced the drives he didnt do a clean install obviously, did he replace the controller or driver?

Do you have a win 7 dvd to do a repair install?

On the remote chance do you have a backup from before the problem that we could restore from?

I was wondering if anyone knows what is going on with Outlook.com and the calendar app... My wife has shared several calendars with me. That worked fine... until some days ago. I can't select a shared calendar anymore when adding an event. I only have my own calendar to select. And when my wife wants to unshare me, Outlook.com says it can't because some upgrade is going on. This is happening for several days now. I have also shared a calendar with my wife and she doesn't get the events I add. I do not have the upgrade notice she has. What can we do about this? It is very annoying! Does it have to do with Microsoft renewing the Outlook experience? If so, why are these issues are still there after several days?

I am running the new WL Calendar beta and I don't know whether it is just a beta issue or there is genuinely something wrong here.

I haven't used the calendar before and I started entering stuff today. I have 3 calendars. Personal, UK Holiday and Birthday. The Birthday Calendar already had some entries from friends on Windows Live who had inserted their DOB on their contact details. It said in the description that they were pulled from my contact list, so, I began to enter birthdays into my contact list but they are not appearing on the calendar, any ideas why?

Oh and anyone know how i change the notifications on that calendar as it is read-only and only set to remind me 0.5 days before which is really no use

Thanks

Macca

A member of staff at my work is having problems receiving invitations for meetings in outlook. Does the user have any delegates for their calendar? I don't have Office 2000 anymore, but I seem to remember that there was an option to have meeting requests sent ONLY to delegates and not to the actual invitee. Is it possible his meeting requests are being sent to someone else?

Hi,

I'm running XP SP3 on a Dell Dimension 4550.

I installed a Wireless USB adapter and have been troubleshooting issues with that (can ping but not browse). Anyway, I'm not sure what happened, but I started getting Exceptions (after being away from the computer) and when I moved the mouse, it would bring up a little window with a User name and required a password. Normally I'd see the screen with all users in a vertical list (w/ icons) and then you'd click to get in. So I entered the password and it got me in, but the display/windows/icons were all screwed up. The Start screen was all screwed up, and the Desktop was as well (things would look weird/askew on the screen).

So I tried to do a System Restore and picked a date from about a week or so ago. I let it run, and when I came back, the computer had rebooted. The System Restore screen was up, I kept hitting Ok, but it just sat there. So I x'd out of it. I went back into System Restore, and now there is no calendar with any dates to pick. Something got screwed up. And the System Restore did not fix the original problem - I still get the Exception and then have to restart for anything to work again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

A:System Restore - no calendar and other issues

try a reboot with no USB devices hooked up. then when/if things go smoothly from there, i would check to make sure your USBs are 2.0 if not update them. then try your wireless again. let us know how it goes, also on next post please tell us about your computer using this: http://static.techguy.org/download/SysInfo.exe

Hi,

I'm using Windows XP on my Acer Aspire One netbook, Microsoft Outlook 2007, and Outlook Connector so that I can access my Hotmail account. I can access and refresh my mail and my contacts but not my calendar. I receive a 80004002 error indicating that my calendar synchronization failed. What I can't understand is that Outlook connector works flawlessly on my other pc notebook, which is a Sony VAIO. The email setup on both computers is identical, and of course they're both trying to access the same Windows Live Hotmail account. Could there be a setting or a missing file on my netbook that is preventing calendar synchronization?

Hi all,
The company that I work for uses Outlook 2000. We have our own exchange server which serves about 150 e-mail users.

A week or so ago, one of the users reported that old calendar reminders that had previously been dismissed were showing up again. This week another 2 users have the same problem.

Everyday when they start outlook they get reminders for past events that have previously been dismissed. (Some of the reminders are from weeks ago) When they choose to dismiss again, Outlook gives a message telling them that some reminders could not be dismissed and that they may be reminded again.

All 3 of these users also have a Dell Axim PDA that syncs with Outlook. I have searched the MS knowledge base, Microsoft Technet, Dell's Knowledgebase and generally searched the web.
There are a couple of articles on this forum of over users having similar problems but they are for Office 2002.
here is the closet match so far..

None of the 3 users use .pst files and the only commonality of the users is that they all have the Dell Axim. (I have replaced the internal battery and made sure that the date/time is correct)

I am lost! Of the 150 Outlook 2000 mail users that we have, aprox 25 of them also use the Axim PDA, the problem is affecting just 3 people.

A:Outlook 2000 Calendar issues

Are these three the only ones to have dismissed the reminders? Are these reminders coming from their personal calendars or from public ones? They have to have more in common than just the Axim's or everyone would have the same problem.

I have a client machine using Windows XP Pro. Networked to a Copier/Printer Konica Minolta Bizhub. Starting yesterday, the client cannot print from Google calendar. It goes into the queue and says 1 document pending for user. Printing from a Word doc or pdf or even a test page from the print properties all works fine. It is only not printing from the Google Calendar print. She has used this every work day for at least 10 months and it was fine. Now it just won't go. I have a client who has their own domain hosted under Google Apps, and their domain is "client1.com". They want to give read/write/modify access to one of their calendars to someone who is one of their subcontractors, "client2.com". Is there a way to share this calendar with "full" access (but without the ability to make changes to the permissions)?

The only way I have seen to be able to do this is for "client2.com" users to see free/busy information, but they need to see ALL information (meeting location, other participants, etc...), and they need to be able to add/modify appointments in the same calendar. (Client 2 does not use Google Apps, if that makes a difference - they are on Exchange 2003).

I know I can set up a Sharepoint site for them, but they don't want to have another login ID and password to have to remember, so unless this can be done using their existing email address and password (ie, single sign on), then they don't want this.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure which is the correct forum to ask this in. I was unable to find anything in Google's knowledge base & there is no way to get live help from them.

My question is this: When someone from a different time zone shares their calendar with me, are the times shown their local time or my local time? I would think they would be in their time, but they seem to be in my time. So I'm wondering if Google which knows everything, including where I am, adjusts the times on the calendar to my local time.

I hope this is the right forum. I've already been called once for asking in the wrong place. When you've come from 7 years of XP this Win8 seems like a different culture and language. I have gotten the Outlook.com ( online not within Win8 ) to mirror my Gmail contacts correctly. When I go to the command bar above and click on Calendar I see 3 listed Jack's Calendar ( which I would have expected would show what the Google Calendar does but it doesn't? ) and a Holiday Calendar and one other.

So why is not my Google Calendar with it's events not showing on Jacks Calendar within Outlook.com as they should?
All help is greatly appreciated. jack
