IE7 error immediately upon opening

Q: IE7 error immediately upon opening

Windows XP IE7 has been working great until a recent auto update. Apparently something went wrong and now IE will not even open, it gets to the opening screen then immediately pops up "Encountered a problem needs to close". The data in the error is as follows:

Appname: iexplore.exe Appver:7.0.6000.16735 Modname:rpcrt4.dll
Modver:5.1.2600.5512 Offset:000858b9

I've restored to point before auto update and still no good. When I went to get on computer after the auto update it appeared that computer was locked up in "shutting down" mode on the auto restart. Something went wrong but just dont know what. Rest of computer seems to be working just fine and same as always. ANY SUGGESTIONS.

OK, this is what's going on...

This particular game doesn't require much out of my machine. I've ran this game 5-6 times over just to see and it still ran smoothly, so I know for fact it has nothing to do with hardware (especially because I can still run much more graphically/processor intensive games). Just getting that out of the way.

I have played this game, unchanged, many-a-time pretty much every day, then one day it simply quits working. No update to the game (it does not update automatically), no change whatsoever. It'll just open and immediately close before any kind of content, color, or image is loaded. The whole process of me attempting to run the game and it closing takes less than a second.

I've tried spamming the game to see if maybe a 1 in 100 shot will randomly open it. This didn't work.

I have removed all my firewalls and antivirus, just for sake of testing purposes. This didn't work. Yes, I rebooted.

I have absolutely completely uninstalled the game, then reinstalled it. Rebooted, and it didn't work.

I have tried running as Administrator, or even just disabling the UAC altogether. Rebooted, and it didn't work.

It's an online game. Windows Firewall is disabled, all my ports are open, nothing is justifying what's going on here.

The two previous Firewalls/Antivirus I had were McAfee and Avast.

I am on Windows 7.

A:Game closes immediately after opening

What game and what are you exact PC specs (make and model if its a big brand name, or make and model of motherboard, cpu, gpu, ram, harddrive, power supply including wattage, optical drives etc.)?

At the moment, all you are saying is a random game doesn't work on a undefined machine ... thats not a lot to work with

I know this has been addressed in previous posts but none of the solutions I found worked for me.

Upon starting my computer, opening regedit isn't possible. I get an error message saying: "Regedit is disabled by administer." To fix this, I run (every time I turn on my netbook) the following statement: REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

This allows me to open Regedit, but it immediately closes again.

I have started working in Sierra Leone and know my computer has many viruses on it. Still, none of my anti-virus software (I use AVG Free 9.0 and PandaSecurity ActiveScan 2.0) has solved this problem.

Below please find my HJT log. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Daniel

Whenever I open Internet Explorer 64 bit, a message immediately pops up saying something to the effect of "Internet explorer has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution .. blah blah blah" Whether I wait for it to tell me to close IE or immediately try to close the message, it just pops up over and over again, making the only way to actually quit IE to go into task manager and end the process (I'm not sure if this is relevant, but when I do that, there are two "iexplore" processes, and only ending the second one (when they're in alphabetical order) actually turns off IE). The program launched from the menu item "Internet Explorer", which I assume is 32 bit IE, works just fine, as does the no add-ons mode. I have also seen several people asking questions about IE 9 64 bit stopping working on youtube and related sites because of issues with 64 bit flash or the lack thereof. This IS NOT that problem - it freezes immediately upon the start of the program. Also, I have just upgraded to Service Pack 1, but the problem existed before that (I was actually hoping SP1 might fix it, but no luck). I have also uninstalled updates to IE and then re updated to 9, but that didn't help either. (also it is really annoying that that's the closest you're allowed to get to uninstalling IE completely. I would feel much better if I could just exorcise the whole thing and start fresh, but no dice). Anyway, thanks for taking a look!

About a month ago Outlook 03 started closing right after I opened it. I would get the Outlook start screen then the generic Windows error, "Outlook has encountered problem and is forced to close."

I wasn't sure if it was related to Outlook 03 or not but I just upgraded to Outlook 07 and it did not solve the problem.

I can start Outlook in safe mode without any problems. My OS is XP Professional. All other MS Office programs work fine.

With the generic error message I'm not sure where to start looking for solutions. I tried searching and the only results I found were for a corrupted profile, I followed those instructions and it didn't solve the problem.

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Hi everyone, New to the forum so thanks for the help ahead of time. Upon opening internet explorer it immediately closes and displays nothing. Also Internet options in control panel will not open at all. The windows firewall also tells me "For your security, some settings are controlled by group policy." This computer is not on a network and is a home computer. I was able to work around it by doing some registry work in which I removed the value on the firewall key. So that enabled me to turn the firewall back on. The service for windows firewall is now started with no errors and is set to automatic.

The Internet explorer problem is more important to me at the moment. I know the internet connection is active because firefox works perfectly. I scanned the computer with AVG and it found so many viruses and trojans it was rediculous. I also scanned the computer with webroot spysweeper and it found nothing but when I open IE it stops all sorts of things like drivecleaner for example.

Hi guys,

Have just found and read a closed as solved post about Microsoft Office 2000 Outlook closing immediately on opening. Of course, now I have gone through the registration process I cannot find the original post.

So, within the last two days, for no apparent or obvious reasons, Outlook 2000 refuses to stay open. When I try to open it, it opens and immediately closes; no error messages, no crash reports to Microsoft. The only thing I notice is in the task bar at the bottom of the screen, when it opens it shows the outlook logo followed by '-Microsoft Outlook' instead of 'Microsoft Outlook'.

I have removed the program and reinstalled it a trillion times (only a slight exaggeration). This made no difference.
I have deleted (having copied it to a different location) the .pst file. This caused the program to open and ask various questions about setting up new folders. I did what it asked and the program promptly closed having created various personal telephone folders.
I have put the .pst file back. Now, for the pico second that the screen is open, I can see that there are no e-mails in any of the folders, obvious I guess, but confusing to an idiot like me.
Any help greatly appreciated.
P.S. Info Utility says I don't have an anti-virus but I am running a full Norton 360 program which is always on and I have scanned the whole system a couple of times since this problem began.

Okay so I'm really not computer very computer smart and i have no idea where I messed up but somehow I must have messed up my computer and now very few of the metro apps run. I've had this problem ever since i updated to 8.1 but I never asked for help because i was using a third party desktop program that made metro unimportant, but because of mounting problems being caused by aforementioned program I uninstalled it and am now attempting to learn how to use the metro. I talked to a friend and asked how I could fix it and he said the only way he knew of would be to re-install windows 8 but I have too many files I would lose if I were to re-install and he said that even if you go the route where its not supposed to mess with your files sometimes it does anyways. I have no external device where I can back up the files and I guess what I'm asking is how do I fix the apps without losing my files? I'm not a total idiot as far as computers go but if you need information I'll need a step by step explanation of how to get it. So thanks in advance to anyone that takes time to help me and sorry for how frustrating its probably going to be.

I suggest to right click and select uninstall whatever apps that were not working then login into MS Account, run the Store Apps. From there you can re-install them to see if the problem is fixed.

In addition, From Admin command prompt run 2 commands below:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealthsfc /scannow

Do the cntrl, alt, delete command to open the task manager then go to aplications and see if its still runing. If it's not there, then check the processes tab to see if its runing. If its not runing at all then maybe you should uninstall and reinstall then after do the patch. If it happens again then its gonna be a registry that some virus or malicious code has added or modified. Im not an expert but tricks like that are always pulled by means of altering the registry.

PS...MAKE SURE TO RESTART AFTER UNINSTALLING AND BETWEENING INSTALLING THE PROGRAM AGAIN AND PATCH.

Okay, for some reason when I try to start Firefox, I get the message:

"firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

behind it is the Mozilla Crash Reporter:

"Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts."

There is an option to restart firefox, but the same messages come up. I believe it might have had something to do with a virus I had, but Malwarebytes removed several trojans (Vundo I believe was one of them) and installed IE8. So far I've

- restarted the computer
- completely uninstalled and reinstalled firefox
- ran ccleaner & combofix
- ran malwarebytes
- manually uninstalled firefox, renamed the user profile folder in %APPDATA%

i cannot restore to an earlier date because of the virus scans and deleting virus files that were housed within restore data. Has anyone else encountered this issue or know a possible solution?

I tried to restore the system by system restore point but I couldn't

an error occurs and it tells me that the the system couldn't be restored to the point I wanted

Also I just want to add that there's a problem that I have just found which is the Hp simplepass software is not working too

Everything worked fine until I read one of the messages in the system tray in the 'flag' area (action center).

It said I had to restart the computer immediately or there were going to be trouble I am not sure it was the line "Restart to repair drive errors" or something else. I did it, it took a while, it wasn't your simple restart, since it was on a black screen with my acer logo on top and not the typical blue one.

After this, the store is broken and won't open and most of the apps (I have around 70, haven't tested them all) show a x sign on the bottom right corner and will not open.

I have tried a lot of stuff (clear the store cache, some powershell scripts) but the only thing that has changed is that the store number of apps listed in the bottom corner was zero and now it is 37. I have tried the apps.diagcab but it just tells me that I have the windows updates set on do not download. (I download them manually)

But I cannot get the store to open. Please do not ask to check the screen resolution since it worked fine with the same screen resolution until yesterday.

any idea?

Hi,

Since three days both internet browsers installed on my PC won't start (IE and Chrome). Or rather close immediately after I start them. (I am entering this thread from my office PC)
I didn't install any programs in between when they worked and stopped working (did copy files from a CD-ROM).

Some things I tried:
- logging in as my wife (we have got two users installed) - same problem
- clearing the user settings of Chrome (i.e. deleting the folder). After doing this the browser works for about 30 secs. and then the same problem occurs (either using it to browse or not using it gives the same result)
- scanned the PC for viruses (Windows anti-virus) and malware (Spybot) ? nothing found
- start IE with extensions off
- I also installed HijackThis. Couldn?t find anything that looked fishy, but did not have an expert look at it
- Using either WLAN or LAN doesn?t make a difference (tried it just in case ? never know ?)

Both programs are the latest version.

Any ideas?

A:Internet browsers (IE & Chrome) close immediately after opening ???

Hi,

Tried some more:
- de-installed Google Chrome
- de-installed Java
- de-installed IE Google toobar add-in
Didn't work yet
- run a registry cleaner

After restart IE works again. Typing this message from there.

Seems problem is solved although I have no idea what caused it. Didn't like Chrome anyway though because it crashed on me several times a day. Installed it because IE was becoming very slow. But that's another story.

So for now: problem solved.

Roy

Hi,

WMP11 closes immediately after it opens. I have been using it for a long time with no problems. The only thing that is new is that I just installed a new 25" LCD monitor (I-INC) but I wouldn't think that would cause any problems.

I'd appreciate any help.

Hey
I've tried everything I know how to do (not very much). I've lost the recovery disc so I can't reformat. I have a Gateway tablet pc/laptop thing. I think i've picked up some nasty malware/virus/browser hijacker. When I open IE it would close immediately. Firefox is very unresponsive and my browsers appears to be hijacked. I get the warning that pops up on the task bar over and over saying that it's detected some spyware or malware and I need to click to download the antivirus. I'm in safemode now, I can't even use either browser in normal mode, I still can't use IE in safemode. If I have to log back in on normal mode to save a hijack this log then switch back to safe mode so I can post then i'll do that. I also noted that I couldn't even run the "hijack this" program, it wasn't until I renamed the .exe to something completely unrelated that it would even allow me to open it up.
Idk if my hijack log will be valuable in safemode but here it is, i've already tried looking at other people's threads with similar problems and troubleshooting myself unsuccessfully. I will appreciate anyone's help or helpful advice.

My Acer AMD Athlon runs on Windows XP 64-bit Professional. This time, upon start-up, by the time I'm ready to click on Internet Explorer, an annoying Blue Screen of Death appears almost immediately. The only information it gives me is the usual:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA

Along with STOP: 0x00000050, 0x96D165AE, 0x00000000, 0x8053CC12, 0x00000000
It also mentioned if the problem persists, to disable BIOS memory such as caching or shadowing, which I don't have the best knowledge of.

It had happened a few times before about a week ago, but had said it was an error while searching for ati3duag.dll. It didn't appear this time.

I then entered Safe Mode with Networking via F8.

I have done multiple scans with these following programs and registry analysis, then restarting, but the Blue Screen problem persists with the same information.

I currently use AVG 9.0, CCleaner, and Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware. I've tried to find a better free registry tweaker/cleaner, as CCleaner is mediocre and doesn't work deep enough to discover the problem.

I recently defragmented my sytem, searched for any stray .dll's and suspicious registry misplacements/strews. After one more restart, the same information appeared, but at a later interval.

A start-up proccess is quite suspicious and it might have to do with the Blue Screen, which still may remedy the problem if i disable it.

I'd appreciate if someone could reply soon, as my other searches haven't he... Read more

I finally bit on MS's armtwisting regarding upgrading my HP Mini 1104 A7K67UT#ABA (2GB, 320GB) from W7 Pro 32 to W10 Pro 32. Note I had no problems whatsoever with the machine on W7. Now, despite an apparently smooth upgrade I have nothing but problems: Display driver is clearly missing. Resolution is correct but the display is not tight at all. Everything looks slightly fuzzy or washed out. No missing drivers or ?s in Device Manager. However, under Display Adapter it only says "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter." Is this right? The biggest problem is constant Explorer crashes. Within a couple of minutes of booting up I always get a "explorer.exe Application Error" box popping up saying "The instruction at X referenced memory at X. The memory could not be written" (in each case X is the same at both places in the sentence but the exact string of characters for X varies each time the error occurs). It generally starts with 0xF852706. Closing the box of course forces Explorer to cause cause the screen to flicker, etc.Basically my newly upgraded machine is now unusable. Googling I've found similar issues people have had at startup or shutdown but my issues are while the machine is running. Anyone who can help I am thanking in advance. I hate MS for forcing this and also am unhappy with HP for apparently not providing proper drivers to ensure that their hardware actually works with W10.

thestem According to the HP product page for your PC, it came with Win7 preinstalled. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you're up against is that Microsoft only supplies drivers with the most basic functionality, and what you really need for FULL functionality is the specialized drivers written for the specific hardware found in your HP PC -- and unfortunately, there are no HP Win10 drivers for your PC. HP only guarantees Win10 compatibility for machines made after August, 2013. HP does not have any schedule indicating when, or IF, they will be producing drivers for the older machines. This means that your PC is most likely NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the drivers is needs for full functionality simply do not exist!  To restore full functionality, you would need to do a factory reset using HP Recovery Media to its original pre-installed OS.However, if you are determined to stay with Win10, some driver alternatives you can pursue are listed below ...You can try using Windows Updates to find drivers from the Microsoft repositories for your device: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139You can also try following the instructions in this thread: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04763435/ Good Luck========================================================================I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.---------------------------------------------------------------If my posts he... I am unable to install updates on a Windows 7 Shuttle PC. There has not been a successful update since I first installed Windows 7 on the machine. The machine originally had Windows Vista on it. I Gparted, wiped the machine, and installed a clean Windows 7 onto the machine. Five months later, still unable to get a single update installed. I have had a wide variety of error messages in the five months including Windows was unable to check for updates automatically error 8007000e to the most recent 80240016. It says "Windows updates were installed: Never" and the last check for updates was 11/11/16. I left the computer run for an entire week as of today with the VGA Cable unplugged in hopes that it would be restarted for updates, which means that it took Windows an entire 6 days to even check for updates. The computer was not restarted and when I tell Windows to install the 976 MB of updates, immediately when I click "install updates" it failed as soon as I clicked "install updates" Trusted Installer says it is occupying more than 2GB of ram but the number does not change at all and is using 0% CPU. It seems that Trusted Installer is hung. If I end process on Trusted Installer, I get a "Operation could not be completed. Access is denied"

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

I have a fairly new computer (May 2009) and recently when I have been logging onto the computer I have been getting a message saying that RAID 0 drive is failing, back up immediately. I then click on the icon that is showing me this message and it goes into the Intel matrix console. Upon further investigation, i have found that it is specifically Hard drive 2, array member (Model: ST3320813AS, Firmware: HP22 that states the status of it as error occurred. I then went into the control panel to back up the computer to my external hard drive. But it won't let me because it says that the external hard drive is not formatted for NTSC. So instead I begin backup up the computer to DVDs. On DVD four, each disc errors, so I quit the backup. Now, I decide at least I can back up my docs, so I get that done successfully to my external hard drive. I then decided to try the full computer backup again, this time it errors on disc 1. I figure the problem is getting worse, so I shut down the computer while I research the problem on my other computer. What should I do next? Is there any way to back up this data any other way? What kinds of things will I lose if I don't get the rest of the computer backed up? How do I fix this problem?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

A:Error Message: RAID 0 drive is failing back up immediately...Please help!

Hi,

First, could you not just change the format of your external drive (Re-format) to NTSC & then use that to complete a full back-up?

You could use something like Norton Ghost or O&O software both of these run from cd to back-up/ create an image of the drive.

http://uk.norton.com/ghost

http://www.oo-software.com/home/en/p...age/index.html

I am not sure if both will bypass the error segments of the drive or if the drive is too damaged already to create an image but it's worth a go before one of them fails completely!

After all once the drive does fail the information in a striped RAID set would be costly to recover (Specialist company).

The error is;

What I've tried;
-Full system scan with Comodo AV.
-Revealed hidden files and folders.
-Run the installer in both compatability (Even though it does work on Win7, and as an Administrator).
-Also done the scan on CMD (can't remember exact command).

Alrighty. See, when I go to Aethereality.net, and I go to view their gallery, a BUNCH of their images are broken links. I tagged at the board, and saw that others were experiencing this as well. They were all told to update cookies, and I didn't quite know how to do that. So, I tried to update java, for her images work through java. And well, that didn't quite work out so well.

You see, my laptop was telling me of how there was a java update, so I clicked on it, and when I told it to install, it didn't. I found that rather odd, and I simply don't know why it's doing that. Also, when I downloaded LimeWire, THAT wouldn't work because my Java isn't updated. When I click on the java icon, nothing happens. I deleted LimeWire because that refused to open now, as well.

A friend of mine told me to delete java, then reinstall that. However, that attempt failed miserably. I tried to reinstall it, but it didn't work.

Now onto opening 'My Music'. It's not just with 'My Music', but with 'My Documents', 'My Computer', etc etc. When the 'report error' message comes up, I click 'Debug', and it opens again. I mean, that's the easy way out, but I want it stopped for good.

I've run Norton AntiVirus, and Ad-Aware. I'm clean, as far as they say.

Can anyone help me?

"..."Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service..."  I get that also when I have too many [background/foreground] programs running.  Mostly concerning video memory, I think.  Am I reading the RAM correctly - 4GB?  That might not be enough for Windows 10 and a great high-quality video game.  Can you double the RAM in this laptop?  Wifey and I are running computers [1x8GB, 2x16GB].

I've just upgraded from W7to W10 today and have done some tweaks to the system regarding all those privacy issues. Now I've installed Ms Office and when wanting to open Word, I was greeted with this

error screen.
Why is that? How should I configure my system? This error is just usless. It doesn't tell me anything.

It's usually critical to know exactly which version of programs are involved and which version of the OS is installed. With Office there's a suite version such as Office 2010 and each application inside the suite have a version number such as Word 14 for Office 2010. Then for each version of the programs there is 32-bit or 64-bit and the OS can be either 32-bit or 64-bit. The 64-bit software can't run on the 32-bit OS.

Hi All

Strange one here...

Mate of mine recently reinstalled XP on his machine after it developed a power fault, and all works fine... well nearly all.

When I open My Computer then double click on the C: drive, I get an error in a window saying C: is not a valid Win32 application.

However, if I right click on C:, then select 'Explore' from the drop down menu, the drive opens perfectly and I see all contents.

Also... he has an external Maxtor drive attached, and when I double click on this, it opens correctly!!! Strange eh...!

Can anyone offer any help and advice as to why this is happening please...? Thanks all.

Hi all, I have on booting up after the welcome screen, a black screen for approx 1 minute then all runs well.
Recent history is: using wiki how speed up your computer, also i tried switching on and off, timing the reboot several times in quick succcesion.

I am sure i followed all the instructions to the letter with wiki and have now reversed them to see if it cures the problem. Also did a default boot up to no avail. Tried a system scan for virus, many entries of "C opening error" occur during this. Also tried Spybot this showed no problems.

I would be a very happy person if someone can point me to a probable cause

You mean...You can see the drive in my computer...But can't enter it?
Try using system restore...
If it doesn't work, I want to repeat myself....You can see the C:\ Drive but you can't enter it?
I had this issue having hijack.controlpanelstyle Which blocks the admin from accessing any path that is able to remove the hijacker itself (including C) and shows up with a message like you don't own privileges of doing the action.
Most Pros would guess there is something wrong with the registry. (did you do anything including editing, deleting,..etc)

I have attached a Scrn cap of a message I receive when trying to open my Hotmail page. It suggests that I need to upgrade to IE6 or IE7 in order to view my page. Obviously from the image, you can see that I am already using IE7, and have been for over a year. Can't say for sure when it started happening, but I do not remember it occuring after installing a new program or an update.

If I select the option to continue to Hotmail anyway, I get the second image as an error message.

I also get an error message when I try to get into my Yahoo message.

Most other web pages load normally.

A:IE7 Error when opening Hotmail

Solved the problem. Turns out to be a problem with Zone Alarm. I enabled the privacy advisor and as soon as error messages popped up when logging into Hotmail, I clicked on the link and un-checked, in most cases, the Third Party cookie box and now all is back to normal.

Must remmeber to check those settings when I get a new Zone Alarm update.

Hello, I've been struggling for half a year with this. It gives me the error when I try to run games like Shadow of Mordor, Hitman Absolution or GTA5. I have tried updating and installing the visual studio and other software with aio, even manually replacing the dlls (xinput and mfc100 ones). Still no progress. I arrived at this error after the game was asking me for a list of other dlls that I manually downloaded (picture)

Dependency gave me a diagnosis of the dll problem, I think, but I don't know what to do next. I appreciate any help :)

A:Error opening files

You are missing quite a lot of .dll files from this game, not from Windows.
I would uninstall the game, restart your computer and reinstall it.
If you feel that you are missing Windows .dll's. Go to Start/Search and type CMD, Right click the CMD results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Command Prompt type SFC /scannow and press enter. This will replace any missing system files.

I used modio before modio won't open it shows an error message that i have a picture of. Im aware that It's .NET 3.5 I have downloaded and tried installing it and i get this message which as well i have a picture of it.

Thanks in advance,

A:Error when opening modio.

Make sure NET Framework is enabled in Control Panel --> Turn windows features on and off, then while there, try repairing NET Framework (in Programs and features). Highlighting NET Framework entry there should give you the option to repair. When that's done, reboot. Then reinstall modio.

Greetings: when opening a document from email, I get the following message: "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close." then, "The following add-on was running when the problem occurred -- file: pdf.ocx. Company Name -- Adobe Systems. Incorporated. Description -- Adobe Acrobat Control for Active X. Protocat -- Hyper Text Transfer Protocal with Privacy. Type -- Com/WAM/MSGATTACHMENT?."

Then a window pops up from Adobe Reader:
"There was a error opening this document. The file is damaged and could bot be repaired."

It seems that when a considerable amount of time passes as the attachment is opening, is when I get the message. I am able to open some pdf files.

I use Windows XP and very much appreciate your time.

I have Win 7 64 Bit and Office 2007. Whenever I open a file ie; Word, Excel etc, I get this error message:

There is a problem saving the file.
Usually this is because the disk or floppy disk is too small for the file or is full, RAM memory is low, or there is a permission problem with the drive the file is being saved to.
If the amount of disk space for a paging file is low, save the file to another drive. If the RAM memory is low, increase available RAM. If permissions to the drive do not allow you to save to that drive, save the file to another drive or request permissions from the administrator to save files to the drive.
Note: This error can also occur if the computer is running a version of antivirus software that is not compatible with the Microsoft Office system or needs to be updated.
I have 4 GB of ram and over 500 gigs of free space on my HD. I will get this message even if I go to office 2007 after I boot up the system. I have the latest patches and running SP2 for Office 2007.

Does anyone know what the problem could be or how I can fix it?

A bit of an odd thing happening here. On double clicking an IE desktop shortcut I got a message saying that I need to associate the file first with a program, which is odd- since it used to work quite smoothly. Nothing fancy I would say.
Anyway going to control Panel/ Folder options and trying to associate the appropriate program - I see a grayed out " opens with 'Shell Doc Object and Control Library".
Any idea where I can find this program and how to make it active again?
i.e. how to get the IE shortcut working again?

Thanks,

Brgds

I downloaded Ultrasurf about a month ago. I used it for a while now, but just today, the error appears every time open the program. I don't even know how it happened, it just occurred randomly. I restarted the program for at least 20 times, but at the end, nothing changed. Image here -> http://i26.tinypic.com/15hzqkz.jpgI'm using Windows Vista Home Premium x64I have ran it on administrator, turned off both firewall and antivirus, ran it on windows xp compatibility, lastly restarted my computer. Is there something that would solve the problem?Edit: this program doesn't need to be installedThanks-John

A:Ultrasurf error upon opening

Please download the Revo Uninstaller to your desktop.Note ---> Scroll down the page and be sure to download the "freeware" version not the "30d fully functional free trial"?Double click Revo.exe to install and run.?Highlight Ultrasurf.?Choose Uninstall.?Are you sure - Yes?Mode - Advanced? Are you sure - Yes?Initial Uninstall - NextIf successful, and asked for a reboot, say no. ?Scanning for leftovers - Next?Check the bolded box only!!!! <--- Important!!To make sure you get everything, if any entries-usually the last thing listed and not in bold-have a + sign click on the + until you see more bolded items. Check those items to delete. Click next and let it find files you can safely delete.?Delete?Yes?Finish If you were told you needed to reboot, do so now.Reinstall Ultrasurf. See if that resolves your issue.
