DHCP error 1075- Internet Doesn't Work

Q: DHCP error 1075- Internet Doesn't Work

My computer (vista) was infected with a virus. So I first used rkill/iexplore then ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware since my protection (Panda) doesn't seem to do its job correctly. The first time I did this, everything seemed to return to normal. Couple of days later, the same virus started up. I redid what I did...and it seemed to work again...until I tried using the internet. (I think Malwarebytes deleted something in the registry?)

There was an error saying that "DHCP error 1075: The dependancy service either does not exist or has been marked for deletion". I googled this on my laptop and followed some of the instructions found online. None of it worked...

I went into device manager->hiddle files->non plug and play drivers:
There was a problem with these with the same code for them: This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)
App Filter Plugin
NetMon Filter Plugin
Panda Net Driver [TDI Layer]
VSCore mferkdk

Finally, I have included the last three logs from Malwarebytes showing which files were deleted by the program.

Thank you for looking over this!!

Hello,

I'm recently recovering from a mild virus infection on my computer, and noticed that after I had run Avast! and Malwarebytes to remove the virus, my computer lost its internet functionality. Upon running ipconfig in command prompt, I noticed that the computer was not being assigned an IP address, which lead me to believe there could be an issue with DHCP.

When running services.msc, I notice that both DHCP client and TCP/IP netbios are not running, and when I try to run them, I get an error 1075, that the files are "either non-existent or marked for deletion". I noticed that someone else had posted a very similar problem, but a few of the fixes were not available for viewing/download as they were specifically tailored for that issue.

I'm currently running Windows XP Media Center, Service Pack 3 on a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop I had purchased in mid-2006.

DHCP error 1075--can not start the DHCP client on local computer.Dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion..

Hi thanks for any help you can give.
Machine is a Dell dimension e520
Win XP Media center edition SP 2

I have the original dell discs and access to a working laptop also running win XP [this one]

During a routine virus scan by avira anti vir it quarentined c:\windowes\system32\drivers\netby.sys.

This disabled the DHCP client so no IP traffic
I restored the file but still no luck

After trying to renew the IP and some searching around I found that the HKEY local machine system currentcontrolset services NETbt registry key is missing

In services DHCP cannot be restarted --gives the warning above.
AFD and TCP/IP are in device manager -non plug & play show hidden devices NETbt is not

Can the registry be repaired from the original discs without having to reinstall everything else?
Or is it as easy as inserting the missing registry key?

Thanks Bob

The full message is error 1075: The dependancy service either does not exist or has been marked for deletion

This started with a tidserv!inf infection. Norton End-Point seems to have deleted all related virus infections, however, I am now unable to start the DHCP service. I have to set a static IP in order to connect to the internet.

I believe tdx.dll was identified as a virus and deleted. it was listed as a dependancy of dhcp but had no descriptor. Currently it is not listed as a dependancy.

I cannot view network shares from this PC nor can I view shares that I host here on other PC's. Only this computer shows up in net places.

I did an sfc /scannow and it told me audiodev.dll and mofd.dll were corrupted and the files in the store have been corrupted.

I had to take ownership with the admin group in order to replace them with extracted copies from my windows cd, but I when I went back to reassign trustedinstaller as the owner it was not listed as an option.

my cd is without service pack and my installed service pack is sp2.

can anyone be of assistance.

A:DHCP error 1075

My dhcp was working for a day but its back down again. i dont know how to recreate the dependancy on tdx

Hello all,

I've noticed that a few people have posted concerning this topic, so I've tried to read up on as many possible solutions before posting.

I noticed that someone else had posted a very similar problem, but a few of the more advanced fixes seemed specifically tailored for their issue.

Below are the fixes I've attempted thus far -

1. Checked the registry for DHCP?s dependencies (3 are listed, Afd, Tcpip, and NetBT).
2. Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing ?netsh int ip reset reset.log? into command prompt.
3. Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing ?netsh winsock reset catalog? into command prompt.
4. Ran ?sfc /scannow? with an XP SP3 CD.

I'm currently running Windows XP Media Center, Service Pack 3 on a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop I had purchased in mid-2006.

Greetings,
I am having a major DHCP error on my girlfriend's laptop. I am primarily a Linux user so I'm kinda lost here as her machine is running XP. It's a Dell XPS M1210 which, conveniently, did not come with a recovery CD or even partition.
Anyway, a few weeks ago her wireless network device stopped working. It would look like it was connecting, but it would hang on "Acquiring network address." At first I thought maybe the device was shot, until I had the chance to test out the wired ethernet, which has the same problem.
After quite a bit of googling, I ran services.msc, and saw that DHCP is not running. When I try to start it from that menu, however, I get this message: "Could not start the DHCP Client service on Local computer. Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion."
After more googling, I discovered that DHCP has only 3 dependencies: TCP/IP, AFD, and NetBt. I checked the registry, and those were the only ones listed.
After even more googling, I ran devmgmt.msc and selected "show hidden devices" and double clicked on "non plug and play devices." I TCP/IP and AFD are both there. NetBt, however, is not.
I've spent hours doing further googling and tried pretty much every fix I could find and nothing seems to work. If the PC had shipped with a recovery CD I imagine this would be easy to fix but alas no luck. I need to get this working so I can set up my new internets and I... Read more

I have read through the original thread (now closed) and tried all it's suggestions. However, I am still having the same IP (on lack of) issues. I ended my efforts with the running of SFC /SCANNOW which took a considerable amount of time, but resulted in no errors of any kind.

I continue to get the Error 1075: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion, message when trying to start the DHCP Client.

I'm afraid searching the suggested logs for the dependency items it a little over my head.

A little background for my situation. The computer in question is my teenage daughters. A week ago she started having problems with the internet and I'm assuming this is some sort of virus. Whenever selecting a website to launch to, something intervenes and chooses some alternate website. Never the same one twice. I loaded AVAST free version and did a scan. I also updated Malware Bytes and did another scan. I then loaded Kaspersky TDDS killer and did a scan with that. After all that, and roughly 15 files quarantined and deleted, I now have this IP problem. I cannot restore the computer back to an earlier time.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all!
I am really desperate. I've tried a few things that other people have posted here, especially Cookiegal and Lumpola but this issue persists.

I had a virus. I think I got rid of it. Avast scans and boot time scans and Super Anti Spyware and TDSS killer report all clear. However, the network shield of Avast and the Internet don't work.
Points to note:
1. In services, the DHCP and DNS cannot be started. I get the error 1075: service has been marked for deletion or one of it's dependancies are missing. (close to that)

I've checked the dependancies of both, and reinstated the ADF module in device manager after selecting the 'View Hidden' option.

A:DHCP Server Service -Error 1075 - not starting

2. I've tried deleting the winsock and winsock2 entries in the registry.
3. From the command prompt, SFC/scan now terminates at 82%. thrice.
4. I can see the network, both wired and wireless, I can connect, but it says I have limited connectivity.

Hello,

On July 12th 2012, my computer installed updates. After rebooting and waiting for me on the login screen, I gave it a hard shutdown to check on the BIOS settings (for a little side project, in the end I did not save any changes). After booting and logging in again, I find that many services are not running. I ran a very thorough check for malware and viruses (took over 24 hours to complete), and still no solutions. I have uninstalled/reinstalled my Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Driver several times.
I now look in the Event Viewer and find that the DHCP Client service is not running! It is set to automatic start in Services.msc, but when I try to manually start it, it gives me error 1075 (some dependencies do not exist or are marked for deletion). Running ipconfig, I notice that my system is using an APIPA-formatted address (169.254.x.x), indicating that the computer couldn't find a DHCP server.

My Event Viewer is peppered with:

A:Solved: DHCP client and TCPIP Netbios helper 1075 error

I was able to restart DHCP services by deleting the registry entry and rebooting. I went into the registry editor, located the DHCP subkey, right click on dependonservice and clicked on delete.
However TCPIP Netbios helper I could still not start, even after running sfc/scannow.
The solution for me was to restore the operating system to an earlier point in time. In windows xp, go to programs> accessories>disk utilities> system restore and follow the directions. I suppose I could have done that for both problems? At least I didnít have to reinstall XP!

Anyway I can connect to internet now

Hello, lets do some cleaning up and see if that helps you out .
How to Flush DNS in Windows Using the Command Prompt

Step 1 ? Close all open web browsers and applications on your computer.

Step 2 ? Open the Windows command prompt by selecting the ?Start? menu and then go all programs, accessories, then right click command and run as admin.

Step 3 ? At the command prompt, enter ?ipconfig /flushdns? followed by pressing the ?enter? key. After a moment, Windows will display a message similar to: ?Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.? Once the message is displayed, the DNS will be flushed removing all incorrect entries.

Then , we want to get the IP reset, so, lets renew its settings and see if this also helps out :
you will type in the command box : ipconfig /release then enter, then next ipconfig /renew then enter, this will reset the IP , now restart and attempt to have it reconfigure its connections to your router. Post back results please.

My PC is three years old and has been a great machine. I run Windows XP Home Edition, I.E. 7 and have all the protection installed I can find.

Quite by accident I discovered my System Restore is not working. I don't need it at the moment (!!!) but I like everything to be as near as perfect as possible on my PC so I have been trying to discover what the SR problem is and how I can resolve it.

I keep getting the message "S R is not able to protect your computer. Please restart and run SR again"............This advice does not work. for me!
I cannot turn off SR for the same reason.

I then checked out this section of the forum and discovered that many people have had this same problem. I have tried downloading Kelly's file 238 (I think that was the number) ; I have tried accessing services.msc ; I have tried accessing i386: nothing!

I did get the message "Error 1075: "Dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion". This error seeems to apply to many facilities on a PC.

I have my windows XP disk but cannot lay my hands on the SP2 one so I don't want to mess about without your professional advice to do so!! (apologies!)

As I said, if you solve my problem you will be miracle workers and worthy of your wings.

My thanks for any help you can offer me.

A:System Restore Won't Work : Error 1075

Right click My Computer > Manage > Expand Event Viewer > Look under Application and/or System to see if there is any event reporting on about System Restore.

Please do let us know if there is, a screenshot would be a great help.

Another workaround would be searching for sr.inf, right click it and select "Install". You might need Window XP install disc.

I just bought a D-Link DIR-600 Wireless Router and have already installed it to a normal modem. I'm using an XP Desktop.

It stated there that the router has been configured successfully. However, when I try to connect it to the Internet, I received Error 678: The remote computer did not respond.

But, it works fine if I plugged off the router and connected the Internet directly to the modem (that's why I can use the internet now).

Can anyone help me find out what is wrong with my router? I've been trying to do some troubleshoots for 4 hours on my own but it still didn't work. I really need your help since I'm really new to this networking stuffs.

Thanks a lot.

Uninstalled and reinstalled the cd-rom driver it is a Matbleepa UJ-840D CD-ROM/DVD/CD-RW in my HP laptop (Didn't work)

Read stuff about code 39 and removed in the registry edit screen Upperfilters, Upperfilters.bak, Lowerfilters, Lowerfilters.bak and rebooted (Didn't work)

Removed itunes from computer (didn't solve the issue with cd-rom player)

Went back to a system restore point that was before the last time I used the CD-rom player and it worked and that (didn't work as well)

I got a virus. All sorts of programs suddenly installed themselves or opened websites like trovi on a browser mybrowser that had just installed itself. Along with pc speed up and cinemaplus and a dozen more. I tried to open the task manager and it failed. I downloaded malwarebytes but so many programs were opening at once I had to turn it off before using it. Turned it back on and it was a mess. Went into safe mode. Fixed taskmgr with scn /scannow ran rkill tdsskiller and malwarebytes. This took a few reboots. It found a backdoor and a rootkit (ten red items I removed). Then I went about asking all the malware to uninstall itself. Then I had malwarebytes run a full scan and removed hundreds of yellow items (pup).
I thought I'd won but my Windows now cannot connect to my router or internet. I am not sure this is all of why but in services.msc dhcp and dns services will not start. They say error 5 access denied. I tried editing the permissions as per another forum thread but I couldn't get either service to start. Apparently that first time I turned off my computer my virus disabled them (or maybe when malwarebytes killed the virus).
Trying to diagnose the conncection and let windows fix it results in a general troubleshooting error.

I'm having difficulty figuring out this persistent malware. I think it's likely that there are multiple issues.

I'm running Windows Vista.

The malware started off with "google redirect" symptoms, and disabling my Symantec software

Shortly following, I could no longer access the web. However, the malware itself would create an internet explorer popup every 5-10 minutes (not my default browser) that would go to "search sites" (none that I recognized....) and search for lewd topics. Running the taskmanager would show multiple instances of iexplore.exe running on my machine (one for each popup). The popups would have to be eliminated one by one using the task manager.

Trying to run a system restore, I discovered all restore points had been deleted.

I installed AVG antivirus and got it to run once which seemed to help the problem. However, upon restart, all issues were back and I could no longer run avg. Windows defender constantly pops up that a new trojan is attacking my machine.

At this point, I unplugged my internet connection and started using another machine. I had left my problematic computer alone for about a month.

Upon turning it on last night, each time I logged on, it gave me a warning that "Windows had encountered a critical error and will restart in one minute" and would restart. I tried running cmd (in that one minute) to intercept it, but the task manager would freeze if I tried to run it from there and explorer wo... Read more

DHCP and TCP/IP can not be started from Services with out the following error.

Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

I've checked the dependencies and all are running.

AFD is the only driver common to both DHCP and TCP/IP so I assumed it is either not running or is corrupt..yet when I try to start AFD from the CMD prompt I get...."service is already running.

I have since disabled my Lan Connection via Network Connections as it just sits there trying to acquire ip without ever timing out.

I also performed a registry scan with Registry Booster in Safe Mode. It reported:

1061 System Errors
205 User Errors, and
1 Third Party Error

A cursory review of the log tells me the majority have to do with poorly uninstalled programs. I did NOT let Registry Booster fix anything.

It's been a month or two since this is occuring and I don't know why.
The internet randomly loses and even though the taskbar notification shows that I have an internet connection

When I try opening a web page (Google Chrome), it shows a DNS error (unable to... something)
When I try going to the router setup page (http://192.168.254.254), it shows an error (ERR_CONNECTION_TIME_OUT)

I also try using the cmd:
ping google.com - showing 'request time out' 100% loss
ipconfig /flushdns - successfully flushed the dns but internet is still not accessible
ipconfig /renew - it says that there was an error renewing... unable to contact DHCP server (?)

The only thing that I could fix this is that I will go to the network adapter settings (in the Network and Sharing Center) and disable the Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Adapter and re-enabling it again.

I think it maybe a driver issue. So, I try reinstalling the driver but still no luck.

So the only way I can temporary fix this is to on-off the driver. And it's pretty annoying especially when playing an online match and randomly disconnects.

This problem (losing the internet and using the same troubleshooting mentioned above) is sometimes occurring when I put my laptop into sleep and turning it back on again after an hour or so

Please help me. It is really a gratitude if anyone could help.
Looking forward for a reply.

Need help solving Error #1075 problem in conjunction with CheckPoint VPN NGX R60 HFA3. I am using a Dell E6510 laptop computer running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit OS. I can get this VPN to run and connect when I use Microsoft's XP virtual machine sitting on the Windows 7 desktop but I cannot get it to run on the Windows 7 desktop by itself.

Although the VPN seems to load without incident the associated icon "key" does not appear in the notification tray at the lower right. It does appear in the XP virtual machine and on a separate HP desk top running Vista.

When I type services.msc at the Win 7 command prompt I get a list of all the loaded services including the CheckPoint VPN. It is at this point when I try to start the VPN I get the 1075 error. When I check the dependencies under the VPN I find the "CheckPoint Office Mode Module" and the "VPN-1 Module".

How do I determine if these dependencies are causing the 1075 error message? What steps do I need to take to resolve the error message so the VPN will start?

Since the TCP/IP's only dependency is AFD I suspect it has been deleted or corrupted. How do I go about fixing that?

I mistakenly downloaded hotspotshield, the free VPN. I uninstalled it and noticed that nothing would load, almost as if my wifi wasn't connected. I reinstalled it and found out that unless it's on, nothing except firefox works. I can only visit the steam store when it is on, chrome only works when it is on but firefox works fine, league of legends only lets me log in when it is on but after that I can do whatever. How can I fix this? I want it off my computer but I want to be able to access the internet.

Hi!

I have a weird problem. I have a router, two computers are connected to it. One has XP, the other has Win 7. On my Win 7 PC sometimes I don't have internet. I mean, it looks good, it tells me I have internet access, but nothing works. I always solve it by remove, and reinstall my NIC driver (Realtek8168B) or disable, then enable it.

It's an old problem, and it gets really annoying. What can I do?

A:Internet doesn't work sometimes...

You can try two things Power cycle the modem just unplug the power cord from the back off the modem for about 15 seconds then plug it back in (this should be done on a regular basis to keep the modem functioning properly and update your drivers: Realtek

hi
for some reasons my internet doesn't work! even though the four light on my speedstream 4100 modem are all green.i have dsl.
i think it got to do with ATM Connection
i checked my connection, everything pass except Atm Connection.
ATM CONNECTION
1) check atm cell-delineation : pass
2)check atm signal : pass
3) preform atm oam segment : Fail!!!!!!
4)preform atm oam end to end ping : fail!!!!!!!!!
i dont even wht i means!!!!!!!!
plz help me as soon as possible.
i dont know wht to do.!!!

A:my internet doesn't work!!!!

first i would go to the control panel and click on network and sharing, and see if you are receiving the internet, sometimes you can have all the green lights but you may not be receiving a connection from the company that you are connected with, this problem occurs more if you have Tiscali broadband.
You can right click on the connection monitor at the bottom right of your screen and check the connection properties and see if you are receiving a signal, it depends what OS system you have, if you have XP it will be different than Vista, it isnt much different but it is different,
hope this helps

Hi, have a little internet problem here, if i'm on internet ( using internet explorer/opera) it works good, but if i have something downloading in utorrent at the same time, it eventually stops working, I can't open a new site in explorer and all downloads stop.
But if i go to Local Area Connection and click status, it shows that it's still receiving packets.

Anybody know what the problem can be? I've had utorrent for a long time and i've never had this problem before.

(I have 10Mbit, and it's not wireless)

Thanks

A:after a while internet doesn't work

One thing about utorrent it is one of the P2P networks and thus makes it an illegal program to work on here at TSG since almost everything that is downloaded thru these type networks is infected with some sort of virus, trojan or other type. This is stated in the TSG rules

Tech Support Guy Site Rules
http://www.techguy.org/rules.html

I would suggest un-installing the utorrent and then posting a HijackThis log file and we might be able to help in that way. But the utorrent has to be gone and if not it will show up in the log file and there might not be any help.

To download HJTsetup.exe from TrendSecure To Download HijackThis go to the following at the File Repository
Click on the link below to Download HijackThis Self Installer:

http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe

Save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialog boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialog.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialog box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
At the top of the Notepad HJT log screen, hit Edit then Select All then cl... Read more

Me and my 3 roomates all share VDSL through one router. My 1st roomate went on Limewire and his internet no longer works. I went on Soulseek (another p2p program) and now my internet does not work. My second roomate went on Limewire and his internet will not work either. My third roomate never went on limewire and his computer works fine (I am on his computer posting this right now).

What should we do!?!?!?!?

Does anyone even have a guess as to why this might happen?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

A:My Internet Doesn't work

Given that any P2P application will infect you quite quickly I am not surprised. One of the reasons that this forum prohibits assisting with any help on P2P.

Your enquiry is just outside that criteria I believe, so I suggest you download HiJackThis on your PC, transfer it to one of the others, run it and post a text log back here (transfer it back to yours).

That would show any infections, but the very first thing to do is to uninstall all P2P from the other PC's. And keep it off.

The internet on my laptop doesn't work anymore. It just started today, and I can't think of anything that I would have done to create this problem. In both IE and Firefox, I get the message that I could not connect to a server. I tried to boot in safe-mode with networking, but it happens there too.

My computer is connected to a wireless network, with access to both local and the internet.

Can anyone offer some advice?

I recently brought a PC gaming starter pack from AWD-IT. The PC arrived on Monday and I set it up the same night. The PC has been working fine until Friday 23rd when the Internet on the computer stopped working. The computer shows that it was still connected to the Ethernet cable and that it should work. The internet around the rest of the house was working properly. The next day I searched for a solution on the Internet and found a problem similar to mine. Using the fix required the internet would be returned for up to 5 minutes the stop working again. The same day I connected a wifi dongle to try and fix the problem. This seemed to work until the PC powered itself down and restarted but now the wifi would show itself to be connected but internet on the computer would not work. Is there anyway to fix this as it feels like I've just thrown loads of my money away.

It's back to its old self but the place on the back of the tower where the ethernet cord goes doesnt work anymore and it hasn't for quite a while now. The PCI ethernet slot on the bottom used to work until i did the system restore...I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and it still doesnt work. I'm probably missing something obvious, any ideas?

It isn't my modem, though. I located and uninstalled it's drivers and tried to connect again. That didn't help, because the local area connection thing is gone and my moden didn't come with a disc. I also cant use another because my disk drive is broken.

This is my sister's netbook. The problems started with one of those new "fake antivirus" that puts up a ton of obviously fake results that claim your computer is highly infected*. She being... less technologically inclined apparently decided to run the "Antivirus scan" over and over again over night and then the next day gave it to me to try to figure out what was wrong. I can't find the links right now but I found a bunch of blogs that mentioned (Privacyprotection.exe) and among the most frustrating aspects what that it blocked pretty much everything from running. I did a bit of digging and eventually found out it was a rootkit causing the issues and the tools they gave me wouldn't run but I was able to follow the manual instructions. (remove the .exe, remove the alias, regedit and remove the key that matched privacyprotection.exe but not the other ones like the one underchrome etc). That took care of the major problem and I was able to get Microsoft Security Essentials running but everyscan kept turning up a few "Trojans" and that upon trying to clean would result in an error. The error would lead to 'restart to finish removel'. I tried safe mode and the same result. One top of that google results kept getting redirected (forget the site right now.. something like awesomesearch.com or what have you). Howdy all

My sister's laptop, the wireless internet is automatically connected to our router and the password is correct. It even says its connected and the signal is strong.

Windows XP Home, I don't know the service pack is, The router/wireless internet is working on every other computer.

I'm guessing there might be a port blocked or something?

A:Connected to the internet, but internet doesn't work?

Supply the following information please.

OS running on all affected systems
Make\models of all equipment (routers, network cards, modems).
Wired or wireless?
What wireless encryption is in use?
Browsers being used (Firefox, IE, Safari, Opera,...)
What security software is installed?

Open up a command prompt (Start > run > cmd)
Type the following bolded commands and post the results for each affected machine.

ipconfig /all
ping www.google.com
ping 74.125.53.99

Note: To post results of commands, alternate click on the top of the command prompt > edit > select all >

I was having problems getting rid of the SearchQu virus/malware so I downloaded and ran combofix from
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

It said I had a rootkit virus that inserted itself into my TCP/IP settings and that my internet might not work and all I would have to do is run combofix again.

Combo fix ran, delted all my malware and rootkit viruses and then the internet didn't work.
So I re started, still didn't work.
Then I ran combofix again, still didn't work.

Wireless Internet still doesn't work. I'm posting this by tethering my phone to my computer via USB.

I recently installed IE 8 on my computer (I have XP as my OS). Now, about half the time when I launch the browser it doesn't work. It will not load the homepage (the circle next to the word "connecting" spins constantly). If I type another address, it won't load that either. If I close the window and relaunch IE it often (but not always) works.

How can I fix this?

A:Internet Explorer 8 doesn't always work

Go to Tools/Compatibility View. If that still doesn't work, then try going to Tools/Manage Add Ons and try disabling some of the ad ons. Also try going to Tools/Internet Options/Browsing History and delete Temp files. If that still fails, go to Advanced tab/Reset IE Settings/Reset. If all fails go to Add Remove Programs and uninstall IE8 and it will roll it back to IE7,.

Your solution really works (but not completely) I copied the IP configuration from safe mode and manually changed the IP configuration in normal mode as you said. After that I disabled Windows Defender as you said and the internet worked still when the Windows Defender was active again. However, my internet connection dont works after configuring my IP back to automatic, just works if I manually changed the IP configuration again.

Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases

Click OK
Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer

This will program will start and scan your system.
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected. Now click on the Save as Text button:

Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post.
Take note the names and locations of any file it detects but fails to clean.

I have Windows xp Professional 64 on my computer at work. When I deleted browsing history my "Internet Explorer 7 32 bit" stopped working but the IE 64 bit still worked. I updated to IE8 but the problem stays.

The strange thing is that the Intranet works normally on the 32 bit version as well as the company homepage. Are there any filters working only for 32 bit IE version? Is that server related. Is there any way to make the 32 bit version work again? I tried resetting all settings but without any success. I am one of the few using 64 bit Windows version at the company but IE7 32 bit worked normally before?

What to do?

A:Internet Explorer 32 doesn't work but 64 does

Why are you using the 32bit version of IE on a 64 bit version of Windows, when you also have the 64bit version of IE on that computer? Who do you need both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of IE?

So how did it stop working? It wouldn't start? It wouldn't load pages? If it wouldn't load pages, what was the error message? "Connection Timed out"? "Error Connecting to Network"?
If im not wrong, IE should have diagnostic tools in their browser, to search for what's wrong with the connection. Find and try that =)

Good Luck!

The problem is that my connection says that there is "limited or no connection" and I can't renew my IP-address. In proporties I can see that there is a signal out, but I don't recieve anything... Deleting my Norton Antivirus.

So I, like an idiot clicked the wrong download button on a website and got a virus. I found Malwarebytes online and it had good reviews so I scanned my PC and found 1,702 possible infected files. Naturally I deleted all PUPs. After this I restarted my PC to find that I was connected to by router but getting no internet. My browsers and Skype weren't online and whenever I wanted to open my Settings or Groove Music it took on average 2mins to open.

I really need someone to help me out with this problem as I have a YouTube schedule to follow.

I'm using an Apple Mac Mini right now, and I used the Bootcamp software to partition the hard drive into two; one a Mac, the other Windows.

The problem is that the Internet doesn't work when I want to use the Windows side. It works fine on the Mac side (which is how I'm writing this), so I'm not sure what's going on.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I first off want to apologize if this is in the wrong place. I had searched around and read the website and found a similar problem posted in this section of the forum so I figured I'd try my luck here and apologize if I'm going about this the wrong way. I'd like to tell you I'm not to computer savvy but will be trying my best as I am very frustrated and ready to send my computer away to get fixed but will lose all I have on it and have no computer for teaching. I thought it was my wireless card and was ready to buy a new one. But wanted to check here first. My internet works when I plug it into the wireless modem via ethernet cord. Things are progressing to interupt the internet though, AIM will not work anymore, and it somehow downgraded my flash viewer on websites and will not let me download the lastest version. When I start the computer it gives me two error messages.

1. synTPEnh.exe - application error - this application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). click ok to terminate application

2. RunDLL - error loading c:/windows/system32/NvCpl.dll

The Operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium

Again thank you for any help you can offer... even if it's just letting me know If its a virus or I need a new wireless internet card.

-Matt

I posted this in the windows 7 forum here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic454893.html

Here is my problem:

As requested in the other topic I have attatched log files.
 DDS.txt   17.27KB
  7 downloads
 gmer.log   1.11KB
  3 downloads

A:Ran Combofix now internet doesn't work

Someone asked me to post the combo fix log so here it is:

 ComboFix.txt   23.45KB
  6 downloads

This log is from the 3rd time combo fix ran, because I ran it again because the program said I might need to if I don't have internet.

I should also say I have covenant eyes installed on my computer willingly, and it might have been the program combofix thought was attatched to the TCP IP thing. It's reinstalled now.

My sound for most of my computer is perfect - iTunes plays music great, and my instant messenger sound works. But when I go on the internet sound from sites like Youtube and Myspace don't work. I have a 3 year old XP and like I said, the sound is on and nothing is muted, so please don't tell me to unmute it because I am sick of people telling me that. Problem:
Before i coudn't connect to the internet (through my router) everything was fine, the internet was good, but then one day, when I was trying to fix something else, I thought that pressing the reset button on the back of the router would fix it, but then it just started the problem, the internet doesn't work anymore. I tried fixing it back to the original settings on http://192.168.1.1 (the setup address) but nothing seems to work. When I pull the 2200 modem out of the router and connect it directly into the computer, it works... can anyone help me?

When I try to run IE a window pops up and says "the site you are requesting is not available" and a second window appears asking if I want to download the url I was trying to visit (my home page). I'm left with an IE window that is blank.

I'm running Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 Service Pack 2.

I've run my virus scan, spy bot s&d, and adaware. I'm using AVAST as my virus tool.

A side note Firefox browser does work (that's how I'm doing this post).

Thanks,

A:Internet Explorer Doesn't Work

Well, those are signs of an infection. But I don't fully understand:I've run my virus scan, spy bot s&d, and adaware. I'm using AVAST as my virus tool. And what were the results of these scans?A side note Firefox browser does work (that's how I'm doing this post). How did you make this post? Using Firefox?Boot into safe mode by hitting F8 key at startup and choose 'safe mode'. Run your scans in safe mode and see if they find anything. You might also try "safe mode w/networking' if you are using high speed internet. This should allow you to surf the web. See if IE works in this mode.

Good evening,
I've recently been receiving no Internet connection at all in two of my computers. I don't even think this has to do with the modem; no one seemed to have even touched it when I asked. hey,

i have a problem. internet doesn't work on my laptop. after getting some worms that prevented me to open any programs, i did a recover from previous back up. but since then my internet doesn't work (with or without cable).

wirelessly: my laptop says im connected to the router, but it says that i have no connection to internet. sometimes it says that i m connected to internet but even so when i try to open my browsers (ieplorer or firefox), it just says "unable to connect"

With wire: when i trie to connect via a cable directly to the modem, it does the same thing, it says iam connected to the modem but i have limited access, and the browsers say that it can't open internet.

i am using windows7, have a dell computer and a belkin N1 wireless router, and using cable.

i have read a few post, and tried a few solutions but nothing helped. i tried to restore the winsock using the netsh command, i used winsockxpfix, i used lspfix, i deleted my norton virus program, i reset my router to default, i deleted my cache-cookie-history from the browser, i think my driver are up to date, i check my manager device (they all work), nothing helped.

when i type the command ipconfig, it gives me:

ipv4 adress: 192.168.2.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.2.1

when i type the "ping yahoo.com" i get:
4 received, 4 sent, 0 lost

my computer works fine and i can go online. i use wire for my computer and try the same wire to my laptop but... Read more

Hi,

My wifi recently stopped working on my laptop and I'm not sure why. The internet only works if it's connected to an Ethernet cable. What can I do to fix this?

I recently restored my laptop to it's original factory system and that's when the wifi stopped working completely. Also, it's not a home problem because the wifi doesn't work anywhere.

Go to Control Panel - Device Manager.

Expand the Network Adapters heading.

What are the exact names listed in that heading?

--------------------------------------------------------

Are there any entries in the Device Manager that have a yellow ? or yellow ! or red X next to them.

If there is, advise what their exact names are.

--------------------------------------------------------

What's the model name and complete model number of that HP laptop?

If you don't know for sure, advise what the product number(P/N) and/or model number(M/N) on the sticker is.

I am doing this for my boyfriend who can't get online to give you his hijack this log.. but there are 4 particular strings that he has questions about.. becuase he can only stay connected to the internet about 15 or 20 seconds and when he is online he cannot do anything internet-wise.

Here are the 4 strings:

R3-URLSearchHook: (noname)-{5D60FF48-95BE-4956-B4C6-6BB168A70310}_-(nofile)

O2-BHO: (noname)-{0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918}-(nofile)

O4-HKLM\..\Run: [URLLSTCK.exe] c:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\UrlLstCk.exe

O4-HKLM\..\Run: [MsmqIntCert] regsvr32/s mqrt.dll

please help me, he is driving me crazy. thanks.

A:internet not connecting.. doesn't work..

Would you be able to get the entire log from him?

These 2 can be fixed:
R3-URLSearchHook: (noname)-{5D60FF48-95BE-4956-B4C6-6BB168A70310}_-(nofile)
O2-BHO: (noname)-{0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918}-(nofile)

This is a legitimate item:

Name URLLSTCK.exe
Command UrlLstCk.exe
Description Part of Norton Internet Security. From Symantec - "UrlLstCk.exe is a necessary file that will be present in C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security. It is a URL Checklist. It should not be disabled.

This I am unsure of but this is the info about it:

Name MsmqIntCert
Command regsvr32 /s mqrt.dll
Description Microsoft Message Queue Server - Internal Certificate

Seeing the whole log would be best.

I'm having this strange issue where we have Vista Home Premium.

One account that has always been set up as administrator all of a sudden will not go online. I get the page cannot be displayed. Although there is an internet connection.

If I log in under my other profile set up I'm able to get online with no problem.

If I create a new profile I'm able to get online also??

Any ideas on what could be stopping me from getting online with my administrator account?

Thanks!

About a month ago are Internet went down. We had a tech come out (we have DSL) and they said we needed a new modem. So we got a new modem with a router and we get Internet during the day but not at night. We used to be able to use our labtop and watch netflix through out PS3 and now our labtop wont even connect and our netflix buffers all the time until eventually it doesnt connect at all. My husband is able to play a game through the PS3 but that is all. We try to do a connection test and it fails out.

We have called Tech support at CenturyLink MANY MANY times and they say as long as the modem (when computer is plugged in directly to modem) test comes out to 10MB of signal speed; its not their problem. I just want this fixed. We got a new modem.router to see if the router with the modem was a problem and we still have the same problem. We changed the channels to channel 6 and still it doesnt work.

One of the techs that came out said that a line he found he repaired. A copper wire expands during the day and at night when sun isnt out, it contracts that may cause Internet to mailfunction. Not sure what else to do. He said he fixed the wire and still not working at night. Thank you!

A:Internet doesn't work at night

When I saw your thread title it made me glad that I go to bed early.

Have you tested with a computer connected directly to the modem (or by ethernet to the modem/router combo)? You cannot rely on a wireless connection without introducing the possibility of a wireless issue. I would use speedtest.net for measurement.

Have you checked at night with the modem (or modem/router) connected directly to the NID (if you have one)?
