Is your IE window actually maximized?

Look in the upper-right corner, the middle button icon should be the double-window. If you see it as a single-window icon, it's not maximized.

I have a client that had another service company as their virtual IT for a couple years. They ended up switching to me after some problems and now I'm stuck with the fun task of coming in behind someone else and trying to keep their network performing normally. Of course they had no passwords for anything except the server admin so I have had to reset a few pieces of hardware and set them back up. It's been a little bumpy but we are mostly back in action.

The problem:

They have windows 2003 SBS running exchange. The way it was originally set up, three users log into the same account on three different machines and share everything from outlook to the synced documents folders. I will be changing this soon to have everyone on their own user name but the owners have been putting this change off as to not disrupt their comfort zone.

In the mean time, I get calls from them every now and then that the network is unacceptably slow. Of course when I get there to check, I find no unusual response times except for outlook.

The inbox had never been archived and has grown to well over 8000 emails many with large attachments. I am looking for the best solution to decrease the size of the inbox while still having easy access to archived emails for the users who all share the same email. Since I've never serviced a company who has been so dependent on huge emails, I've never researched the best way to do this. Other clients I have just use pop3 in their outlook and ... Read more

I'm sure the answer to this is somewhere on the forum. But after searching unsuccessfully, and being tired, I'll ask it again. This time I'll try to remember to record the answer somewhere.

All of a sudden, without any conscious help from me, some of my desktop icons are off screen. And when I open a page online, I have to scroll sideways to see all of what's there, although that is not the case just now with the HOTN page I now have on my screen. This is true both when the screen maximized and when it is not.

How can I correct this and what casuses it to happen?

Help

I downloaded an ebook from 'resellers-heaven.com' when I tried to open the file - the screen just went (light) Blue!

Then the computer shut down and re booted - back to the same blue screen.

I shut it down for a few hours, then switched it on - it started to boot normally, I signed in, it continued to boot, just when the desktop page should have appeared - the blue page appeared, the mouse pointer was there - which worked from the mouse ok.

The computer is a fairly modern Packard Bell running Vista Ultimate.

Can anyone help - thanks

A bit of a background (I'm not sure if this helps):
I upgraded to Windows 10 last year. Found some annoying bugs with the apps but, overall, the OS worked fine I encountered no problems. I decided to go back to Windows 8.1 since the buggy apps annoyed me.
Just yesterday, I decided to go back and re-upgrade to Windows 10. First thing that happened is that explorer.exe kept refreshing causing this flickering taskbar.

I decided to use the other account on the same laptop. It worked. So maybe, only the other account was corrupted? I am not sure. So I used this account to search the solutions.

I searched for the whole day yesterday and did all the solutions from others. I removed my antiviruses, anything Apple, IDT Audio, and did my scans, and tampered with services. I did everything on this site said:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...fe525e6?auth=1

with
what Srinidhi Arekal said. I tried it all except the Norton parts. I didn't have any Norton.

Right now, I checked event viewer. I saw this. searched for it but can't find any solutions to it. Any ideas?

It gets hot in the summer. (90 degree on average, I'm not sure how hot it is inside the case. I open the case once after I used it for a few hour, and some metal part of my pc were really really hot.) Can I use my desktop pc with the case open?
I have a dell, and my case doesn't open all the way. It looks kinda like this:
http://www.zdnet.de/graphics/reviews/pc/200207/dell4500-inside.jpg
(Not my pic, I googled it.)
I also have a much bigger fan like this blowing on the side of the pc with case open.
http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50897391/Electric_Fan.jpg
(again, not my pic, I googled it.)
What's the pros and cons on operating pc with case open? How should I set up my pc and fans so it would effecttlly reduce heat?
Right now, my pc (with case open) is sitting by the wall, and my fan is basically blowing toward the wall on the side of the pc. The fan is a bit higher than the pc, since the pc is lie down on the floor instead of standing up.

thanks.

A:Desktop overheating solutions??

I have done this before when I didnt have air conditioning. It should be ok, I guess a con is that the devices inside are more exposed to possible electrical/physical damage. Like once I tripped and dropped something inside my case which rebooted the system. That being said, the ambient temperature of a room should 50-80 degrees

Hello,

I do not know how but I cannot change the background on my desktop. I have discovered through some research that my desktop tab is missing and that might be the problem. When I try to customize my desktop there is no desktop tab and I think that might finally solve my problem. I have already tried...

Checking the Turn on classis Shell
Ran the registry file found on Kellys Korner "restorealldisplaytabs.reg"
checked my group policy settings to make sure they said "not configured"
ran a malware program and an anti virus program that are both saying my system is clear
checked my registry to make sure that there were no errors under HKEY" current user and local machine

Thank you for all of your assistance.

I hate to start a new thread and account just for this, but you all have helped me with a lot of my computer problems of late and this one is really bugging me.

I read all I could find on this or other forums on the subject and tried everything but it wont seem to work.

I first noticed I was having issues when my computer refused to change backgrounds in the slideshow I had selected. I was using one of the standard sets of pictures as the background slideshow and it was running flawlessly until Yesterday afternoon when it stuck on a specific picture. At that point I tried changing the desktop to another stock background on the computer and it refused to change from the previous image. I did the same with one of my images thinking maybe there was an issue with the computers images and had no changed results. I then tossed it into high contrast mode and whatnot with zero change. I have flipped between all of the different backgrounds and Theme offered with no results. I Booted (Both shut down + rebooting, and simply restarting) the computer a couple of times and also entered in safe mode. At this point I began looking up solutions. I have tried what was offered on This thread with no success. I also followed the another thread that told me to end explorer.exe and restart it and did so with no success. All of my drivers are up to date, and I tried a couple of other solutions form a couple of other sites all to no avail.

My Taskbar un-hides without me moving the mouse - or even touching the computer. Then, it usually quickly hides again. The icons on the far right of the Taskbar sometimes take over 20 seconds to appear - and that's after the computer has been running for awhile. Then, my Desktop will suddenly disappear momentarily - then come back. I ran System File Checker and it found problems. Before I upgraded from Windows 7, sfc was fine - no problems. I thought if I did a repair install of Windows 10, it might correct these problems - but I can't figure out how to do it. I made a couple of copies of the Windows 10 ISO - but that's only for a clean install. I've Googled for a solution with no luck. Can you advise me what else I can do? Thanks...........

I have spent weeks researching this for an effective solution and nothing out there is working. What makes it even more maddening is everything seemed to be fine until an auto download of MS Updates went through and then this icon disappearing act started.
I have already restored my computer once and that appeared to fix the problem for a while but then it reared its ugly head again and now no matter what version I restore it to, the icons still disappear.
Here's the thing though! I can almost tell, by watching the lower right corner of the start bar when the start bar symbols pop up, about when the desktop icons will go away. SO ISN'T THERE SOME WAY TO GENERATE A LOG (EventViewer maybe?) THAT I COULD POST OR SEND TO SOMEONE SMARTER THAN ME, THAT MIGHT NARROW DOWN WICH APP OR STARTUP ITEM IS DOING THIS?
I have looked at the Event Viewer but I'm not of a mind to understand what I am seeing or looking for. But I have to think if I know roughly which startup symbol showed up just before the icons went away, we could ascertain what's causing it.
Otherwise has anyone found the "REAL" working solution yet?
Specs and DiagnosisWin 7 32Bit, ASUS laptop) Have already ran all sorts of anti virus, anti spyware, anti malwares. I do believe one of those found a virus and perhaps that changed a registry setting to make this problem start. A:Start page small(Has large boarder)

By Start Page, do you mean your Windows Desktop where all the icons are? If so, right click anywhere in a blank space and select properties, then the Settings tab. You can adjust the screen resolution size.

But, If you just reinstalled Windows, I would update all your drivers first. Go the the manufacturer's website and download the most recent chipset drivers and install, then download the others.

I checked loading the page after removing all the white spaces from the code, in this case the page loads much faster (normal load time) on Edge.
(This was just to check if white spaces were causing the problem, however final html code will have these white spaces).
If that is the issue can anyone please suggest me some possible solutions to this and why does the white spaces not affect the loading time of other browsers?

In addition to this my screen saver has been replaced with one that has bugs crawling across my screen and after rebooting about 3 times, I had to remove nod32 from my system else it would just freeze at the desktop screen. Hi,I understand that you need help in order to get rid of the malware that is present on your system - But you need to help us first..I notice that you never scanned with an Antivirus previously before starting this thread - because you don't even have an Antivirus installed! This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world. That's why I want you to install one first!!* Please install Avira Antivirus: http://www.free-av.com/This is a free Antivirus.Perform a full scan with Avira and let it delete everything it is finding. Then reboot. After reboot, open your Avira and select "reports".There doubleclick the report from the Full scan you have done. Click the "Report File" button and copy and paste this report in your next reply together with a new HijackThislog. Then we'll start from there, because it really makes no sense otherwise that we clean this up manually if an Antivirusscan is not present which should be able to deal with most and prevent further reinfection.

I sat on my laptop for about 20 minutes (story for another time...).

Now there are dark spots on the screen. Not dead pixels, but darker circular areas the size ranging from a few millimeters wide to a couple of centimeters in diameter.

Apparently, the places that were subjected to the greatest pressure are the darkest. There are some small components inside the LCD that I'm guessing were the focus of the weight... Where these components are, the spots appear.

It is barely noticeable except on solid color backgrounds, but still annoys me.

Just wondering if there's any fix aside from replacing the LCD screen all together? I would at least like to understand why spots subjected to such pressure would turn dark. I'm just a curious person I guess.

A:Laptop LCD screen has dark spots. Any solutions?

Just press your finger anywhere on the screen and it will turn darker around that spot.
You obviously warped the outside lid of your laptop. See if you can take the lid and the LCD apart and straighten the lid to relief the LCD-pressure from behind (literally...)

Hello, and thank you in advance for taking the time to address my issue.

I have a Dell laptop here with Windows Vista Home Premium, with the latest updates installed. According to the owner of the laptop, it began exhibiting virus-like symptoms about a week ago. After the removal of a few rogue antivirus programs, I attempted to test out the functionality of the computer by downloading Firefox. I went to google.com, typed "Firefox" in the search bar, and after clicking search, I received a completely blank page - no text on the page at all. The page seemed to be very long and scrollable, as well (see attached photo for reference). I am assuming this is a DNS hijack of some sort. When I replace "www.google.com" in the address bar with google's ip address, the search results return without a hassle.

Thank you so much,
J Bradshaw

Yes, Izzy -

Right click anywhere on the blank desktop and look closely at the menu.

One of the choices lets you change the size of the shortcut images.

Sorry, I'm not at my Vista system right now, so I can't recall the exact wording,

Hi, please help. I have a one year old Lenovo desktop PC which is run on windows 8. I'm using a Insignia 39 inch tv/monitor and the desktop display is off the screen. Tried changing the resolution and that doesn't help. My bottom taskbar is about 1/2 inch off the screen and the sides are of about an inch. I know I had this same problem when I first bought this monitor and some tech at Lenovo helped me resize it. The Lenovo is an Ideacenter K4 series. Also, this problem is not when I open new pages or programs, only on my desktop screen with my icons.

Hi all. I have recently been having a problem with the fonts on my desktop becoming too large and in boldface type. I haven't changed any setting, so I checked for virus and spyware. All tests came out clean. I used my AVG Pro, trend micro's online house call, ewido's online scanner, Ad-Aware, the free windows online scanner from microsoft, and windows defender. All clean. This happens at random times, and I can't pin it down. A reboot fixes it, but that is annoying. I have posted pictures of this at the following url: http://swopey78.tripod.com/ If anyone can offer any advice or fixes I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Considering buying a HP pavillion HPE h8-1170uk.

This PC comes with only one massive 2TB hard drive
1. would it be wise to partition this drive and what would you recomend
2. would it be better to clone this drive to a smaller one if so would this be complicated.
3. or would it be better to leave the drive as it is.

Regards Roy

A:HP desktop large drive

It will likely come with at least 3 partitions:

System Reserved (very small, about 200 MB)
Recovery (maybe 10 or 15 GB)
C: for Windows

And maybe even a fourth partition, such as for tools of some type.

That's OK, as long as you never have to add another partition. If so, you would have to use an extended partition--which is doable.

There are advantage and disadvantages to single or multiple partitions. It's mostly personal preference. There's nothing necessarily wrong with 1 huge partition, subdivided only by folders. If you chop the drive up into 5 or 6 partitions, you may end up running out of space on a partition sooner than you expected---which is a pain.

You could do this:

Make DVD recovery disks when you get the PC. These discs serve the same purpose as the recovery partition. If you have the DVDs, you could delete the recovery partition and still be able to restore to factory condition.

You can delete any "tools" partition to the extent you don't need the tools. You can likely find equivalent or better tools on your own.

You could even move the stuff on System Reserved to C and then delete System Reserved.

You probably won't get a Windows install disc, but you could download a legal Windows ISO file, burn it to a disc, reinstall Windows from scratch, and set up your partitions any way you choose in the process. The HP will probably have all kinds of crap on it that you won't want and you can avoid all of that with a clean install after burning recove... Read more

Hey guys, any help on this is greatly appreciated, Thanks

I try to keep my computer on as much as i can to avoid the long start up procedures and as i am on it 10/24hrs of the day i have no need to shut it down.

I recently was required to restart my computer to complete an installation process. When I turned my computer on I noticed that the desktop (Start menu, Task bar, Icons) were abnormally large. I figured that the screen resolution had changed(from the install), but it is still running at the maximum for my laptop (1360 x 768).

The start bar inst too noticeable but it has changed (see (1 - My Task Bar) and (2 - Generic - Old Bar))

I would like to have it back to the way it was and any help/ suggestions from you guys/girls would be very much appreciated

Just a quick question about the desktop button on Win7, for some reason its size increase this week, it's about twice as large now. I know it's a bit silly but it does bother me... and I'd like it back the way it was. I didn't install anything special, I don't use any desktop customizer and I can't find any options to modify that so I'm not sure exactly how it happened, I just noticed one day it was larger.

Do anyone know how to fix that?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

I've been struggling to extend the range of my wifi to reach outside my house, whilst I'm refurbing it.

I believed the manufacturers range claims, so I've been through two routers, two adapters (on top of the Wifi built into my laptop), extending cables repeating cables, all with no steady results.

I've bitten the bullet, and bought a big antenna and an adapter with an arial input, seems over kill to reach 40 yards, but hey as long as it works....

The adapter is a MWGUHA w-lan usb device, by minitar, which is identifed by the laptop as an AR5007UG , I've web browsed and understand this is a common shipset on various makes.

Installing the supplied drivers took several atempts with blue screen crashes on the way.
Letting windows find and install a driver its self, when in range on the in built wifi, put a driver on, but the device didnt work.
I noted the driver was not the same release version as the one supplied, opening the properties window with in device manager and clicking diable, change driver etc so I could change the driver caused blue screen.

I've tried the device on another machine running XP and everythings fine so it doenst seem to be an issue with the hardware its self.

I've tried resetting my machine back to factory settings, letting vista update run for a couple of days to get it as current as possible, and then run the install again - no difference.

I don't understand why it is when I create an internet shortcut on a Windows 7 desktop, most of the icons are "miniature", where as some of them are full size on the desktop. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which shortcut will be small and which will be full size.

Please see the attached screenshot. The site "Brass Goggles" is full size and "seven forums" is miniature.

On XP, these same sites were all full size. I have no idea what is causing this erratic behavior. Any ideas?

Bob

When it first appeared, I checked the add/remove prgrams and found a program added (i didnt write the name down, just removed it). After a reboot, the popup is still on the desktop but there isnt a program to remove anymore. Please help! My entire desktop display is now too large. Everything from the icons, the desktop picture to webpages.. the font & pics are huge. This happened yesterday when my 10 month old baby leaned forward and hit the keyboard with his hands. He only hit the keyboard a few times and the entire screen and display went huge. There must be some kind of windows keyboard shortcut, but I cannot find it anywhere. I am using a laptop with Windows 98. Thanks for any suggestions!

A:Entire desktop display too large

Odds are you have a video control hotkey the child hit to reset your desktop.

Right mouse click on a blank area of your desktop and choose properties. This will bring up the video display console. Choose settings. Odds are you are in 640x480 mode now and laptops tend to be in 1024x768 mode [which makes for smaller icons/more desktop space]. Since you are running Windows 98 try changing the setting to 800x600 to see if this was your original setting before going to the 1024 mode.

I have my resolution at 1600x900, my display is at Medium 125%, and my icons are Large. I was just playing something and I went from windowed mode in the game to full screen with just a click. When I returned to the desktop many of the steam game icons had reset to small icons inside a box. It's very strange. I tried to create new shortcuts via steam but they are still the same, small icons inside a box. Not all the games were affected, but most of them. I am just wondering how it happened and how to fix it. I never had this before.

A:Large desktop icons reset with Steam

Sometimes the resolution does not reset itself back to your setting after you played a game in full screen (that has a different resolution).

I am not 100% sure what icons you mean, but it sounds like you mean the desktop icons? You should be able to:

A:Simultaneous large and small desktop icons?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

My first suggestion might be a bit complex but I'll suggest it anyway. This tutorial - Replace Vista's missing Computer desktop icon with a custom gadget on the Windows Sidebar | TechRepublic - details how to create a gadget to launch my computer. Now, this should theoretically work for any application and on windows 7. To could then launch your program through the newly created gadget.

If that is a little bit too difficult there is a program by the company Stardock called fences. Download here: Fences - Windows Desktop Organization Software. This allows you to organise your desktop more efficiently.

Hopefully one of these will solve your issue

I just had a rather frustrating but successful battle with spyaxe. Although I won, I have some remaining problems. The primary issue is that when I am online, some web pages open with extremely large text while some others open up in a normal / regular size. The second (not as important) problem is my desktop background is completely white. When I go through start up procedures the initial / selected destop background comes on screen, but within the final sequence this changes to solid white. The icons are present but have a weird blue shadow. Thanks in advance for any help,

Hi I've ran a mem check through windows and it says my ram is fine. I was thinking of re-flashing my motherboard.
The story:
A week and a half ago I had to go back to windows 7 from windows 10. I did a clean install with a boot drive everything seemed fine then this blue screen happened. Updated it and everything the blue screen happened again. So... I reinstalled windows 7 again from my CD this time and wanted to upgrade to windows 10 and I got Safe OS error. Tried it with a boot driver had the same error again. Then it blue screened again. So I reinstalled windows up Updated it completely and it messed up with the updates.
I reseatted my ram switched slots reseated my gpu etc. I do not know why windows 7 is being so unstable when everything was fine when I had windows 10. I'm thinking its a driver issue but I do not know where to look.
Currently this version of windows 7 SP 1 I have only has a few updates. IE 11 has direct x stuff etc.

I have in the recent past had to remove the xp virus pro bug with Malware Bytes. Seemed all was ok then a couple of days later this started happening.

Have attached the hjt log from my initial request of help.

I thank you for any help.

I have two hidden object games that has a screen that is to large and some of the objects are out of site on the sides. I tried setting the resolution smaller, but that just made the screen smaller and objects are still hidden. When I remove the check mark from full screen, the screen is to small to find the hidden objects. The game worked fine on my 19" monitor, but not this larger one. Any suggestion for how to remedy this?

What is the size of the new monitor? Have you tried its Native resolution? Does the publisher of the game/s have suggestions? Could also be the graphics adapter/card can't support it.

A:large screen & icons

Hello mickey72,

You will need to install your device drivers (chipset, graphics, audio, etc) .

You may have a disc that contains the Drivers or you can download them from the

manufacturer's website.

Friend of mine has a netbook with a 16:9 screen. With one particular app the bottom half of the window is off the bottom of the screen. There are no scroll-bars and the window has a minimum size when resizing. Resolution already set to highest.

Current solution is to count the number of tab-presses to know that the OK button is selected.

Is ther another solution?

Have you tried adjusting the zoom? Look in the bottom right corner of the screen and you will see a percentage. Click on it and try adjusting that and see what happens.

Hey everyone, this is my first post on this site, hopefully not my last :)

Well my problem started tonight, I turn on my desktop, running core 2 duo and Vista, an I get to the vista login screen and my monitor goes on standby, Viewsonic 22" widescreen, I turn it off and turn it back on, everything is fine. This is just minor problem and didn't really bother me. Once logged in, I notice my icons, fonts, toolbars and start menu are all too large. I go to display settings and check resolution etc.. It is all fine!

I've gone through device manager and checked the drivers and monitor and everything seems too be fine. I have also scanned for spyware/viruses and its all clean. Kinda in a dilemma here and any help will be great!

Hi

I keep getting a problem which appears to happen randomly, every so often the computer will peform a physical memory dump and hold the warning message 'Page Fault in Non Page Area.' As i said, it appears random and i thought it may be something to do with memory - i have 2 gigs of ram as 2 sticks. I took each out and put them in each ram port and still came up with the same message.

I got a problem signature of:-

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 50
BCP1: FFFFF98406AAB024
BCP2: 0000000000000000
BCP3: FFFFF80001E71101
BCP4: 0000000000000005
OS Version: 6_0_6000
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini072208-15.dmp
C:\Users\Greg\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-52790-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Greg\AppData\Local\Temp\WER3CFF.tmp.version.txt

I really have no idea of what is causing the porblem and would like any advice if possible on fixing it preferrably without buying anymore hardware! But i understand to fix it i may well need to be.

My PC Specs are as follows:-

2.40 quad processor
2 gb ram
256 mb graphics card
Windows Vista 64 bit...

Hope for any solutions possible.

Thanks for your time.

Greg

A:Blue Screen - Page Fault in non Page Area

you could do a few different things, download memtest and test your RAM for faults: http://majorgeeks.com/MemTest_d350.html

Also go to start, right-click my computer click properties, click the advanced tab, click settings under perfromance, click advanced tab, click change, make sure it is set to system managed size. (EDIT: sorry this is the XP way, not on my vista machine at the moment, try something like that, if it you cant find it ill find the vista way for you)

If it still messes up, post back with your event viewer logs for any errors reported arround that time.

Hi ,every time i click on a desktop ikon it opens in half screen, how do i get the window to appear full size.My internet explorer opens large but the rest wont.I have tried click and drag to maxamise but it just reverts back to a smaller box again.

A:[SOLVED] How to open w7 in large screen

Hi alank950,

All these settings are automatically stored by Windows to remember its previous size. What you should do is:

1. Open the application you wish to have maximized.
2. Maximize the window, or choose the size you want.
3. Close the application correctly (File > Exit).

If the auto-maximize button doesn't do it, try manually setting the size and then closing it properly.

I have the young fellow from next door's small 10" laptop an e-Machine eM350 with an Intel Atom N450 @ 1.66Ghz and 1GB RAM running a 32bit Basic 7 OS.

Have tried to get the resolution down to a level where everything fits on the screen for example the Google search page is so large the search window sits on top of the taskbar just about. The res is 1024x600 and I have tried to reset it but the only option is 800x600 and changing it is pointless as it defaults back to the 1024.

As it stands it is extremely exasperating to use as the opened Google page is frankly unusable as the bars at the top are huge taking up neraly a quarter of the screen and the taskbar which I have got as small as I can is still way too big. Thhe other thing that has got me beat is if I open internet options to set Google as the home page and the next tab I cannot get to the apply button - I can drag it up using the top bar and the up arrow but as soon as I let one go to apply the whole thing just drops back to where it was.

Any ideas please as have run out myself.

I brought my sister's compaq presario 5250/128 ram/ K-2 Duron processor to my house to do some maintanence, when I connected it to my monitor the icons were huge and the pages were too big to see past 3/4 down the page. In other words, words like 'ok' 'cancel' 'start' were blocked from view and unaccessable. I went into setting and tried to change the resolution to the right side but it would not move. So I removed the video adapter (in device manager) and rebooted and when it came back up it was the same way. My sister needed the pc back, so I sent it back to her house, just hoping that it would look normal on their monitor and of course it didn't. Before she brought it over to my house it was fine she said the icons were not like this, but now they are. I did not do anything to it except hook it up to my monitor, I couldn't even do any maintenance, the display was so awkward. At their house, I had them go into settings and again the slider would not go to the right, to make the icons smaller.
*Forgot, it's windows 98
Anyone have any suggestions, my sister and her husband are freaking out.

am using windows 98. want to change montior to flat screen. tried a NEC but was told by NEC my 98 couldn't support 1024 x ?, so got a KOGI that had been hooked to an old 95. screen is fuzzy and windows are so large i can't reach the apply or ok buttons. in display there is a minus (-) in front of display adapters; the subtitle is NVIDIA Aladdin TNT2 and a minus (-) in front of monitors with the subtitle of GVISIONL5QX-TIA. Should the display adapters and monitors subtitles be the same? I think the NEC was NVIDIA and I think the KOGI is the GVISION. Any suggestions of Annie?

My question has to do with a black box next to my cursor as I write. How do I delete it? Second issue is reducing the size of my screen when aol comes on. The print and pics are off the screen making it so I have to scroll across to read or see the entire content.

Any suggestions how to correct these two problems?

As for the sizing issues - it's only a problem when AOL opens? Are you referring to their webpage for the news and other common interests?

What can be done to stop this?

A:super large screen at start up

Without knowing what starts it, I wouldn't want to guess how to stop it.
Are your graphics drivers current? What was the update that caused the problem?
Are there any other 'unusual' things happening that might help in determining the problem?

Win XP Home--IE6- Outlook Express 6

Someone I know has used my computer while I was away over the holidays. The system is operating fine but everything visually in IE6 and OE6 appears much larger to the eye and I can not figure out how to reduce the visual on screen.

The desktop icons were also visually very large and I was able to resolve that problem and reduce the size to a smaller one I find satisfactory, but a solution to the problem in IE and OE has not been found. Reducing text size in VIEW does not help.

This is very frustrating and I have not found this addressed in any XP support data I have or perhaps I am looking in the wrong category?

A solution to this issue would be appreciated!
