Q: Error message: An error occurred while loading a file. AOL will attempt to restore...

I have an error message: An error occurred while loading a file. AOL will attempt to restore the file. My emails, however, are affected. I have email icons without subjects. The emails do open but I cannot know what they are or who sent them prior to opening and I cannot download attachments, answer or forward the messages. This is a potential disaster if I cannot fix this quickly.

Any help appreciated.

Can someone please help me on this problem?

I have this message on this laptop once windows has loaded.

'Failed to save setting. An error occurred loading a configuration file: unable to open file'C:\users\.....etc...'

Apparently whilst web browsing something occured and on reboot this message appears and the profile doesn't load properly user documents and software not there etc..

Within the start menu the list of program folders are there but the folders are empty. Looking through the c drive and finding my way to the programs the stuff is there.

I created a new admin user to see what that does. The folders are still empty.

This is a windows 7 HP laptop. It also doesn't have a cd disc drive or a window disk apparently.

Many thanks in advance.

A:Failed to save setting. An error occurred loading a configuration file

"This is a windows 7 HP laptop. It also doesn't have a cd disc drive or a window disk apparently."

If it has no CD drive it is most likely a "netbook" & not a laptop.
Try "rolling back" the system to an earlier date using System Restore:
Click Start > Run...........
Type rstrui in the run box, then click 'OK'

A:Failed to save settings. Error occurred loading a configuration file. Help!

Hi, you could try a system restore. If this fails or is not available try this. Desktop items are stored in a cache, this can become corrupted causing what you see. To fix right click on the taskbar and select Task manager. When Task Manager opens under the Applications tab click on "new Task" type:- explorer.exe press ok. Your desktop should repopulate. At this time reboot your computer. If all is well then the problem is fixed if not:-

Repeat the task manager (as above) and new explorer.exe then follow this:-

Go to Start all programs accessories and right click on command prompt select ?run as administrator?

At the prompt type:- taskkill /im explorer.exe /f press enter
(Your desktop will go blank)

Now type each line and press enter after each line.
Note the spaces.

I turned on my PC today for the first time in maybe 6mo, slow to boot up but that's expected. Got maybe ten minutes into using it (just fine, might I add. Linked to wifi, etc) and Norton popped up needing to restart the computer. Hit restart now, ten minutes
go by, PC is still trying to shut down. Black screen but the fan is running. I shut it off completely, push the power button again, and get the disc error. Try to restart twice with CtrlAltDel but same error. Finally soft reset (or try to, no indication that
holding the power button does anything) and then got the "Error loading operating system" screen. Now depending on how I restart it (trying to boot from the BIOS menu or boot menu) I get the disc read error but eventually come back to the OS error.

Nothing can get me into the system, period. I'm doing this from a secondary non-PC device. Any help is appreciated. I can get by on software fixes but I'm completely useless with hardware so all of the quick fix tips I've vaguely read have mentioned removing
things from the actual console which I'm hoping I won't have to do.
Please help thanks

I downloaded the SAC Desktop Alert from today on my work computer. (It works fine on my personal computer.) However, when the alert attempts to pop up & play the alert sound, which is a WAV file, the following message pops up:

"Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack - Please wait while Windows configures Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack"

The following message pops up on top of the one above:

"Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack - An installation package for the product Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'CPDP.msi'."

After clicking "OK" several times (the error messages repeat 3 times), then those pop ups will go away & the SAC alert box will go ahead & pop up. However, it is suppose to pop up w/o the errors & play the alert (as it does on my home computer).

I looked in my Program Files & there is a "Sonic" file that includes a "CinePlayer Decoder Pack" file w/ a "cmdvdpakENU.dll CinePlayer DVD Decoder Pack Resources" file w/in it.

I'm not sure if this version is what I need to avoid these errors & if it was just a matter of allowing something to point to this Sonic file?

Also, if I go into the "SteepAndCheap" program file, then "Desktop Alert", then "Resources", then "SAC", there is the "alert" WAV file. When I click o... Read more

This is likely because XP CD doesn't have the more modern SATA drivers for your HD.

They need to be slipstreamed into the installer, unless you have a floppy drive you can load them from during Driver Loading phase at F6 prompt.

How To Slipstream SATA Drivers Into XP CD

Have you tried installing your older programs in XP compatibility mode offered by Win7? Right click on their .exe files, select Properties, then Compatibility Tab. Run as Admin. It works about half the time, I have found. Try also the Wizard, which may want you to dial it back even further to SP1 or 2000.

I recently installed service pack 3 for Office 2003. Now when I open Excel I get the following error message:

Microsoft Visual Basic
An error occurred while loading 'Module1'. Do you want to continue loading the project?

If I click yes Excel opens correctly, however Module1 (which contains macros from personal.xls) is not accessable. Any suggestions?

A:An error occurred while loading 'Module1'.

I have no way of knowing if this will work, but I would do the following.
Copy personal.xls to a removable storage divice, then try opening it in Excel 2007, or OpenOffice, on a different PC.
If successful, then save the macros into a text file. Delete the original personal.xls, and then create a new one.
Copy the macros back from the text file.

Hi Quetzal, welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Later versions of Access use an .accdb suffix & not the .mdb suffix & this is the cause of your problem. As you mentioned updating from Access 2003 I assume you are now using Access 2013, so these websites might help you.
In the first one scroll down to the links contained in it & follow those as well. The second one may not be relevant but it does contain some info that might be of interest to you.

I saw a few old posts about this same topic, but none quite fit my situation so I'm starting a new post to request help/suggestions. Sorry for the length, but the instructions say to be as detailed as possible.

My System: I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit on an HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC.

MY PRIMARY PROBLEM: Inability to do a System Restore after multiple attempts using various restore points.

First, I'm including what predicated my original attempt to do a system restore. While working on my computer on Sunday evening, some sort of error message popped up, but it disappeared before I really saw what it said. However, the result was that when I next switched to IE8, it wasn't working properly. I seem to recall it saying something about "i.exe" in the original quick message that disappeared on me & later saw something about missing java script, but this was before I knew I had a big problem so I didn't actually note the details.

My first step at resolving this was my standard one - Shutdown & Restart. When I did this, I stepped away from the computer & came back to see that it was doing a disk check. As it does this from time to time for no apparent reason, I wasn't too worried. However, when the system came back online, there were several obvious issues including.
My background picture changed back to some sort of default & all of my desktop icons were rearranged to sort of a standard setup. The items that ... Read more

A:Unspecified Error Occurred During System Restore

Hello Suzyc!

Excellent work on your post! It is very rare for someone to make so much effort, and it makes so much of a different to us!

I have seen similar issues to these before. All slightly different, but I know of a few things to check out.

1) Click on the Start Orb > Computer > C:\ > Users

You must do it through My Computer please, as instructed. Do you see two copies of your Account Name. For example, if this were me:

All Users
Default User

^ Two of my name. Tell me if this is the case on your computer.

I doubt this will be the case.

Go into your Account Folder (Richard for me)

Are there two Document folders, two Downloads folders, etc. etc.

If there are, go into each one in turn. One will contain your actual data, one will contain the data of a new computer. Delete the ones which come from a new computer, leaving only the ones with your data in them.

Log off and back on again.

2) Norton is not the only program to do this. What anti-malware tools do you have. McAfee, MSE, ESET, Spybot S+D with Tea Timer, Webroot

The two in bold have a far worse reputation of causing this problem than Norton does. I need to know if you have either of these two programs installed.

3) Are you backups disconnected and safe?

4) I need to take two logs. The first log will help me diagnose your System Restore issue, your SFC result, and other lurking problems.

Please navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\ and copy CBS.log to your Desktop. Rig... Read more

I made a restore disk on my 64bit win7 desktop for my 64bit win7 laptop because windows stopped loading. Now when I try different restore points I get the same problem. Should I make a new disk? What else could I try?

Post about original problem

I have a normal stock dell desktop with windows 7.

I borrowed my grandmothers laptop. It is an Acer Aspire 5736Z-4790 w/ an Intel Processor. Last night after trying to install some files to make some cheat programs I use for an online game (I have loaded same programs 10x on other computers so I doubt its related to the programs themselves) One thing I did do was try to delete a winhttp.dll file in system32 or the WOW one(for 64bit computers? Forget the folders name) and replace it with another one(Directions for the cheats said to make sure that winhttp.dll was in sys32) and while trying to do that windows would not let me so I read somewere that there is a program that lets you "take ownership of a file" so you can override permissions. I then took ownership of sys32 and maybe the 64bit folder as well. It still did not let me replace any files in sys32 so I then restarted and when windows opened again, desktop loaded then an error message came up, then it restarted itself, and repeated, but after the second time it restarted itself windows would not load. After the Acer manufacture screen, just the blank black ... Read more

My apologies if this has been gone over before, but i'm asking this in desperation (almost) !.  I used Outlook Express for years when i had Win.XP on my old PC without a single problem. In the last 18 months, since i've had my new PC Win.7 Home Premium 64 bit. i've had to use Windows Live Mail & it's utter c**p !. Almost every day without fail, when trying to send or open an e-mail,i get the rerror message attached. The only way i can get Live Mail to send or open any e-mail, is to log off & re-boot my PC ,which is a PITA,especially as when a few months ago,i was taking part in some pretty lively correspondence on line.   Is there a definitive cure for this problem other than switching to another e-mail system  ?. I've searched the I/net for a solution, but all i find areboat loads of others with exactly the same problem & no answer & definitely no respose from Microsoft.   I would get rid of Live Mail & install another mail system if only i was sure that i wouldn't make a total mess of it as i'm not 100% PC literate. So,any serious advice will be deeply appreciated,

Hello there!

I'm currently running Vista on my Compaq laptop. Unfortunately (long story) my key for Avast Antivirus expired in January 09 and I was unable to input the key code until September 09, so I guess the virus found it's way onto my computer during that time.
I ran a scan after finaly inputting the key and Avast found several infected items. Some could be removed, but since that scan I've been getting the following message after starting-up the laptop:-

Error loading C:/Windows/TEMP/msxm192z.dll

Also, since the initial scan and appearance of this error message I've been having various problems -
* Laptop running slow
* Media player not running (won't open/run) - cannot play any music!
* Photo Gallery icon blank and won't open - cannot access my photos!

I've since uninstalled Avast and installed a free version of AVG. Neither seem to be able to get rid of this virus.

I also followed the advice given to another member of this forum. I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Hello Blanchflower,

In my honest opinion, I think it's time to start looking into a clean reinstall of Windows 7. Considering your previous problem with viewing video, it sounds like there is something just not right about your PC at the moment.

Sometimes you invest a lot less time starting over from scratch than getting to the root of multiple problems.

Please listen to me as others would suggest to you just as well... Image your new installation of Windows. When you start having problems like this, you could just reload the image and everything will be fixed in a matter of minutes.

Just something for you to consider.

What does that mean and how is it affecting my computer. When I run a system scan with Norton Internet Security and SystemWorks it says my computer is fine but I know that has to be doing something. Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance for any help that might be offered.

About a year ago I installed a cyber sitter called "iProtectyou" on my son's computer. I decided to uninstall it for him recently because it didn't work, and it only seemed to give him a hassle when he tried to use the internet or play games. When I tried to reinstall it, it would not take the password I used (I could of forgotten it, but I had it written down).

After hours of trying to uninstall it, I went to the internet and Googled how to get rid of cyber sitter's with a forgotten password. Luckily there were several people with the same problem. I downloaded the applications they gave out on the site, and eventually got rid of it. They also had me go to the "Registry Editor" (run: regedit) and screw around in there. The program still shows up in "Programs and Features" but theirs no publisher now, and I still cannot install it. Except now, instead of asking for a password, it just says that their was an error with database.

Now when ever we open up anything, we are swarmed with windows telling us "Crictical Error Occured While Opening Database."

Any help would be great.

Some clients of ours have difficulties installing our MSI application.
When looking into the MSI.log, You see the following error.

DIFXAPP: ENTER: ProcessDriverPackages()
DIFXAPP: ERROR - The operating system you are running on is not supported. Only Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows codenamed Longhorn are supported.
CustomAction MsiProcessDrivers returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)
MSI (s) (E8:28) [15:06:16:300]: Machine policy value 'DisableRollback' is 0
Action ended 15:06:16: MsiProcessDrivers. Return value 3.

Looking around on the internet, there were 2 suggested fixes:

To resolve this issue, check if the Windows Application Compatibility setting is turned off in Group Policy Object (GPO).

Turn off Windows Application Compatibility as follows:

1. Launch the Microsoft Management Console (mmc.exe) and add the Group Policy Object snap-in
2. Browse to the Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Application Compatibility folder
3. Select "Turn Off Application Compatibility Engine"
4. Set this policy to be enabled in order to turn off Windows Application Compatibility
Use Compatability mode > Users do not have access to them.
Does anyone encountered this error before and know what to do with it?
Thanks in advance!

A:Failed attempt at installing MSI file - DIFxapp error

This MSI is under your control - correct?

Try this: Mark's Stuff: Fixing Error 1603 on MSI installs

You will need Orca MSI Editor from the Platform SDK installation ( I used Windows 7 Platform SDK). For these particular errors, it a problem with the DIFXAPP drivers in the installation package. I got updated files DIFxApp.dll and DIFxAppA.dll from the Windows Driver Kit for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 (from MSDN Downloads).

Open the MSI file in Orca MSI Editor. Select the Binary table on the left. You should see the 2 dll's listed on the right.

Delete each of these rows: right-click on the row and select "Drop Row".
Right click in empty area on the right side and select "Add Row". Navigate to the location of the updated drivers from the Drivers Library (C:\WinDDK\7100.0.0\redist\DIFx\DIFxApp\WixLib\x86). Add both the DIFxApp.dll and DIFxAppA.dll files, making sure the row name is the same as the DLL file name.
Save the MSI file.

hi, do you have a diagnostics partition on your inspiron, on mine I press F12 as the computer boots. If you do, run the extended test on the hard drive. At this point I should ask if your important files/pics etc are backed up as any test on a failing hard drive is intensive. You ask if your hard drive "just crashed", have you tried restarting to see if you have access.

My operating system is XP. My (Western Digital) master drive was getting too cluttered, so I decided to reformat. I changed the BIOS to boot from the CD-ROM and proceeded. After that was completed, I installed a second hard drive (Maxtor Ultra ATA/133 160GB). After insuring the jumpers were in the correct position (my 40G (master) to hold the OS, and the 160G (slave)for storage, I powered up. The OS loaded, but I remembered that I needed to change the BIOS to boot from the hard drive instead of the CD-ROM, and I got the error message "Error loading OS". I was told that I now have a "bad boot sector". If I don't get a cure for this, I'm going to have some unhappy people on my hands, and I was wondering if you might be able to offer a cure. Thank you. Hi all,

Huge problem regarding permissions on my (massively unstable) PC. I try to run ANYTHING including .dlls with admin permissions and i get a nice little "ding", and error message regarding the relevent .dll and File system error -1073741792, including one just before I get to the logon screen (think it was called "WINMM.dll", which yes, is "microsoft mouse", but my mouse still appears to be working sooooo... confused... lol).

Also, when i try to system restore, I get an unspecified error, code (0x8000ffff). I don't get anymore info, it just apparently can't do it.

All this came about when i started my PC up after changing/installing NOTHING (since it last worked perfectly), and it randomly said the disk integrity of C: (64GB kingston SSD running the OS but no installed programs) had to be checked, before several black screens of text whizzed by, deleting and then repairing registry entries. It has done this once before, (completely different symptoms, but same root cause of this windows integrity checker thingy), but i fixed it by transferring my account files to a new account, deleting the old one, and presto, instant new admin profile with full permissions again, but problem is, what with nothing that requires admin status working, I can't create a new account this time.

If anything seems unclear about what I've just written, please ask, and I'll clarify, but I've been battling with this all day, and need to get some rest befor I ... Read more

Windows Mail suddenly does not send or receive messages. When I attempt to send a message, I receive the following error, "The message could not be sent. An error has occurred." When I click the Send and Receive button, the pop-up box comes up, but not long enough for me to read anything. However, it appears to complete the send/receive process with no errors. I have had issues in the past and often received an error number, but not this time. When I go into my accounts, I have changed the password to my incoming server to the wrong one to see if it recognizes the error and have also changed port numbers and still receive no error. I have attempted working offline and double-checked to ensure it recognizes the wireless internet connection - which it does.

I do not currently have and have never had any anti-virus programs installed on my computer. I have logged into my email through my browser and deleted all emails from all of my folders, closed Windows Mail and then re-started it to no avail.

I would just upgrade to Windows Live Mail, but I already did that once before when I was experiencing other problems with Windows Mail, and that program has also stopped working correctly so I had to go back to Windows Mail. Therefore, it appears that if I cannot get this issue resolved, I will be stuck using my browser (which is not very user-friendly) and my iPhone. Needless to say, I am quite frustrated with Windows Mail and Vista!

A:Windows Mail - "The message could not be sent. An error has occurred."

First let's fix the major problem of not having an antivirus! For now please download Malwarebytes and run a full, updated scan. Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download That should clean up any bad software on your computer. And I would imagine you have a lot... There are plenty of good free antivirus programs out there, most of the people on this site highly recommend Microsoft Security Essentials. Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials

After running malwarebytes, see if your mail problem is still occurring.

Personally, I just have to recommend you switch to using Mozilla Thunderbird, instead of Windows Mail. It's very clean and easy to use. And free. Check it out. Mozilla Thunderbird That's just a personal suggestion, you don't have to if you really like Windows Mail

Error message always received when I try to get onto the above 2 sites:

For reasons that I cannot understand, I have never been able to log on to them from my laptop at home in Germany.

However, when using the same laptop in Australia with a different internet service provider, there is no problem with accessing the above sites so I know that I can reach the websites with this laptop.

I have tried many things including calling the airline directly to see if they have an IT help desk or if they are experiencing website problems. No to both. I have tried typing in the addresses directly into the URL field, clicking on through a link etc and nothing works. As far as I can see, the websites aren?t blocked by my antivirus software. I recently purchased the WD6400AAKS SATA hard drive for my Compaq S5000NX system running Windows XP Pro, because Windows would give me messages saying "Error Loading OS" or "Operating System Not Found" when I booted up. I figured the hard drive was on its way out so buying a new one would fix my OS Error problem. Although that system supports IDE hard drives rather than SATA, I got a very good deal on the drive and couldn't pass it up. I found a SATA to IDE converter that attaches directly to the back of the drive and it works fine. Before I purchased this drive, I was running 3 hard drives total, a 40 Gig Western Digital as my main boot drive, a 160 Gig Western Digital and a 120 Gig Segate, both as slave drives, with a Sony DVD Burner. My problem starts here. When I boot up my system on just my 120 Gig Segate Drive with Windows on it, everything works fine. I can access the BIO's and it shows that the drive is present, etc. I then reboot my system and attach my newly purchased 640 Gig Western Digital drive as a slave to my 120 Gig Segate Drive running Windows, as well as my 160 Gig and my DVD-ROM. All have the correct master/slave settings. Everything works perfect when I boot up, I can access files, move them anywhere, etc. As soon as I restart the computer, or shut it down, it gives me an error saying "Error Loading OS" on my next boot. I hit ctr-alt-del to restart, and get the same message, over and over. If I unplug those 3 IDE dri... Read more

Hello spontaneous, Welcome to TSF!

This file is very strange indeed, which leads me to believe that you may have a spyware/malware infection on your computer.

Please read this article? "Having problems with spyware and pop-ups? - First Steps"; follow the instructions very carefully; then, post all the requested logs and information; as instructed, in the HiJackThis Log Help Forum.
(Simply, click on the coloured links to be re-directed.)

Please ensure that you create a new thread in the HiJackThis Log Help Forum; not back here in this one.

When carrying out The 5 Steps, if you cannot complete any of them for whatever reason, just continue on with the next one until they are all completed.
However,it is extremely important to make mention of the fact that you could not complete any of the steps in your post to The HJT Help Forum; where an Analyst will assist you with other workarounds.

Once done, please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are usually very busy; one of them will answer your request as soon as they can.

Good Luck with it.

This message started after I was trying two different USB network adaptors.

After a Windows update some time later I began to get the following two messages:
In a box titled WZCSLDR2.exe-Entry point not found there is the message:
The procedure entry point apsInitialize could not be found in the dynamic link libraary wlanapi.dll
In a box titledd AirGCFG.exe-Entry point not found is the message:

After I click on the OK button for both of these messages, the messages disappear and XP runs fine.

The only problem I seem to have is that I cannot restore my computer to a previous restore point.

Both of those files appear to be associated with NIC drivers. Ensure you have a copy of your network card drivers available on your HDD or CD, then uninstall all references to the NIC drivers you installed or any listed in Add and Remove Programs. Hi There and to BC! I have read your post and I think it would be wise for you to post a HijackThis log for an expert to review. I bet you are wondering what HijackThis is. Well it's a program that is simply able to show others what's going on inside your computer, in terms of infection etc.. This file 0wso0fis.dll is malware, but the fact that you are getting a missing error could mean it is gone; however we made need to delete the startup entry I recommend you follow the HijackThis preparation guide which can be found here. It is important that you follow the guide closely. A number of scans will be run which may well fix your problem. As the guide says, after you have completed the scans that are recommended, please post your "HijackThis" log in a new topic in the forum found here. Please add your system infomation and also what problems you are having. Please wait for a few days and one of our experts will get onto fixing your computer for you. David

Vista system restore attempt throwing "not enough space" status

I'm unable to boot into the Windows GUI. When I power up the computer, the "Startup Repair" window stating "Your computer was unable to start" appears and attempts to correct the problem. After a few minutes, it reports that it cannot repair the computer automatically and presents me with a "System Recovery Options" window. Since the initial Startup Repair was unsuccessful, I'm choosing not to select that option I thought the "System Restore" option would be the next best approach. When I try to perform the System Restore, I run into the following scenario . . . after I select my restore point and the restoring files activity is complete I recieve and error 0x80070070 and a message citing not enough space. My C: drive has 19Gb free so is the lack of space in a partition and if so how can I change it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm more than happy to post additional information as required.

Hello and welcome to the Vista Forums!

It is not .net Framework that you need, but the Visual C++ Runtimes, in particular the 2005 ones.

A:A corrected hardware error has occurred, Generic Cache Hierarchy Error

Please provide this information:

Although you haven't mentioned any BSOD's, the info will provide us with some details so we can try to figure this out.

In general, a machine check is related to an error that's recognized by your CPU and reported to Windows. There's not usually much information in the error reports so we have to fiddle around trying to figure it out.

Most often these are either hardware problems (something's busted) or compatibility issues (either software or hardware).

FYI--I did download something from one of my survey groups--Galcela.msi
I did delete it from the system when I saw that there was a non-removal Trojan involved.
Do I need to run MSconfig and remove what ever is left?

Can anyone tell me what this error message means?
started getting this error message;

RUNDLL Error loading

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

I am using Mozilla firefox as a browser, another family member uses Explorer for MSN instant messaging.

I am guessing it is related to running into serious problems with Virtumonde.

I have run Ad/aware and Spybot. They both keep removing it but it keeps showing up along with a lot of I suspect related spyware.

I've run McAfee Anti-Virus and it showed nothing. I ran Windows Defender and it showed nothing.

Ran Vundofix and it showed it removed it all but then when I re-ran it is was back there.

Also ran Virtumundobe gone in safe mode and it showed nothing but then there error message started appearing...I re-ran Spy-Bot and it is still showing Virtumunde on the system.

Any help would be much appreciated. I posted a hijack this log on the appropriate forum.

Good day all,

This is my first post from a new UK user.

I am running Windows XP Pro and have been troubled by NAIL.EXE. I think I have successfully removed it to quarantine using EWIDO. Now on starting Windows I am presented with an error message "Windows cannot find 'C:WINDOWSNAIL.EXE'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly ...(etc)".

Now this is not nearly as problematic as the NAIL.EXE effect but it is an irritation. Can you advise what I need to do to stop the call to NAIL.EXE.

Your assistance will be appreciated.

A:Windows XP error message on loading

NAIL.EXE and AURORA.EXE are recent and nefarious spyware from Direct Revenue, Inc. Arm yourself with another anti-malware application like Adaware or Spybot Search and Destroy and feel better!

EDIT: whoops, it appears you're over the virus and just have a residual message regarding it.

First things first; see if it is in your 'Startup' folder. Start > Programs > Startup... look for the call to it there.

Failing that, see if it stands out from among the programs listed under Start > Run > msconfig (typed in the Run box, then click 'Ok'). Msconfig has a tab for services launched at startup... you should find the offender by the path it's calling if not by name.

EDIT2: In fact, you may want to repost your issue in the HJT (hijack this) log forum; they will know better than I (at least off the top of my head) how best to permenantly remove that annoying call to NAIL.EXE.

I am getting 2 different messages at startup - "Error loading C\windows\tipe10ay.dll Specified module could not be
found" and same for "bfky.ojo" module. I think I amy have picked up a virus from the USPS spam thats going around.
What should I do?

A:Error loading message at startup

Hello, Its not unusual to receive such an error after using malware tools.A "Cannot find...", "Could not run...", "Error loading... or "specific module could not be found" message is usually related to malware that was set to run at startup but has been deleted. Windows is trying to load this file but cannot locate it since the file was mostly likely removed during an anti-virus or anti-malware scan. However, an associated orphaned registry entry remains and is telling Windows to load the file when you boot up. Since the file no longer exists, Windows will display an error message. You need to remove this registry entry so Windows stops searching for the file when it loads. To resolve this, download Autoruns, search for the related entry and then delete it.Create a new folder on your hard drive called AutoRuns (C:\AutoRuns) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click here if you're not sure how to do this.)Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.Please be patient as it scans and populates the entries. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message.Right-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.Credit to quietman7

I am doing a clean install of XP Pro on a Dell Dimension 8200 PC. The drive has been formatted and I am using the XP Pro setup disk. About halfway through setup I get an error message that says " cannot be loaded. error message 4111."

The setup disks were downloaded from Microsoft. I've tried booting from the XP CD (OEM version), but can't seem to get it to work. I have changed my boot sequence to boot from CD, but no go, so back to using the setup disks.

I have searched the net for days and have found nothing. Anyone here know anything about this? Also, should I be using a XP bootdisk instead of the startup disks?

Welcome to Seven Forums callumshell1. The 1st thing I would suggest would be to run the System Files Checker.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

See if it finds and corrects any errors. Also, see if you locate the 2 dx logs mentioned, in the windows directory, and post them here, or just the text if they are short, which they may well be.

I ran the bcdedit commands to set the osdevice and device partitions. While trying to boot again, got an error again this time saying that Kernel is missing or corrupt. I see that a lot of people have faced this problem but I could not find any solution which would work for me. Any clue about how to solve this and what is the cause of this problem? It has been really frustrating till now

A:Vista error while booting: 0xc00000e9 unexpected error has occurred

Hello IamThe,
If the E9 code is correct, then this is the bugcheck for your error.

Usual causes: Device driver

As you can see, the most probable cause is a driver.

Have you tried to boot into safe mode ?.
If you can get to safe mode with networking, go to C > Windows > Minidump and upload the files. You may need to save them to desktop before you zip them up and upload them.

Take a look and post your results, good luck.

Hi...I am new to this site and probably know the least about computers than anyone posting. I do have a problem that occurs each time I turn on the computer or reboot the computer. When windows is coming on I get an error message that says - "windows can't find c:\windows\system32\ddabx.exe could not load or run"

I then click okay and it tells me a second error that says - "error loading c:\windows\system32\sxtcqpwg.dll the specified module could not be found".

I then click okay and it tells me a third error that says - "error loading c:\programfiles\vcrspgvi\mnotmvq.dll the specified module could not be found".

If I click okay, I do not get any more error messages and windows seems to work, but I have notice that I can't access any website that need adobe flash. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but it does not work on my computer.

I do not know if these are all separate problems and I should be posting them separate, or if they all go together. I hope someone can help me because I have no clue what to o and I do not understand how computers work. I do know that we have something called AVG 7.5 internet security.

Please let me know if you can help. Also, if I need to do that hijack log thing, you will have to tell me how. I have just been noticing that a lot of people have copied logs and I don't know how to do that if needed.

I've had a good look round about this, and your not alone, quite a few people have the same problem, that said, and I am assuming you can't install it?

If that is the case try this first

Put the CD in and open My Computer, right click the CD Drive and choose open, then find the setup exe and right click it and choose run as administrator

Hope this helps you, if not we'll try something else, in either case post back

After running adaware with XP Home I always get the following error message everytime I reboot

Error loading C:\WINDOWS\bs5.dll
The Specified Module Could Not Be Found

I click ok on it and everything seems to run fine, I'm just wondering why and or how I can get rid of it and to have it stop occurring everytime I reboot
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Warren Peace!

HI everyone,

I have Windows Vista on my laptop which is using an AMD64 Athlon chip.

I have all updates installed from Microsoft, and I have the most recent release from Sun, of Java.

To connect to my wrk computer, when away from the office I use a secure tunnel, which part of the process is to load up a secure tunnel which is a Java applett.

When I click on the link to start this however I get the following error message, and the secure tunnell will not load, thus meaning I cant start my secure remote desktop connection.

The error message is displayed at start-up ERROR LOADING AUNPS2.DLL at start-up. It showed up after I removed some unwanted programs. How do I clear this message?

A:Start Up error loading AUNPS2.DLL message

You could go to: Start -> run -> type: msconfig -> startup

Look for the file in there, and uncheck it. This may be spyware though... so you may want to put a HJT log in here. I didn't research your file at all though, so i can't say for sure.

i went ahead and googled it up, it is adware most likely
I would highly suggest using hijackthis and posting a log

I had a problem with antivir solution pro. So I removed it by running iExplore, then unchecking the "use proxy server" in the LAN settings in my Internet explorer, then running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SuperAntiSpyware.

Now, when I start my computer, a few seconds after logging in a message pops up saying "Error loading phdyp.dll The specified module could not be found. A second or two after this happens, my symantec pops up saying that the quickscan detected something. The symantec results say that the risk is called Trojan.Zefarch that the count is 2, and that the filename is axoniqeribe.dll.

After it is quarantined and I restart the system, it's back. How do I get rid of this?

I have posted this once already and I will close my other post, I am thinking maybe I did not give enough information because I have received no replies.

Here is my original post

I purchased some CD-roms NIB and tried to install them today, when I first tried it, it worked on disk one then I thought maybe I needed to sign on under the other user of my comuter since that person is the one that wanted these CD's installed so I unistalled the first CD and logged off my name and then on under my husbands name (same computer). When I tried to then install them, it would not let me it kept telling me that the uninstall was still active. I restored my computer to yesterday so I could start over from scratch and now I get an error message #112 that states Unable to decompres files call your software provider. Can you tell me what is going on? Thanks

Now, I have attached the error message that I am getting when I try to load the CD's. I had someone suggest that my temp folder was too full, I emptied it and I still get the same error message plus now I get two more- they are both attached. Thanks for any help you can give me.

The attachments won't attache maybe too large I will follow with the error messages.

Error 1 - SETUP in the NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction CS:BEDO IP:F54f op:62ff of 1062 choose close to terminate the application.

Error 2 ISSET_SE caused a general protection fault in module KRNL.386.exe at 0001:2386.

I am trying to install windows 7 on an Dell Vostro 400 with XP OS.

Setup times out during following prompt: "Setup is copying temporary files"

Error message: "Windows setup experienced an unexpected error 0x6"

A:Error Message Loading Windows 7 to XP Machine

This is usually caused by either
1) problems with the hard drive - run CHKDSK /F to check it
2) a bad DVD copy - did you check the hash of the download (if downloaded). What media are you using?

A:Getting Error Loading Message When Desktop loads

This can be caused by orphaned reg. keys left over after removing malware. When Windows starts up it searches for them and when they cannot find them they give you that errorAs long as you are sure you're clean, Download Autoruns: it and look for those 2 files and remove them from startupSee if that works for you
