Q: Windows - No Disk "Exception processing message c0000013"

Been receiving the following error all the time. I am using Windows XP Home SP3. "Windows - No Disk 'Exception Processing Message c0000013Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c'"

I have viewed multiple forum histories and there seem to as many "fixes" as google ads.

I trust this group most. Any ideas how to get rid of this problem?

Thank you!

Hi... hope someone can help!! After installing the latest updates to windows XP my machine exhibits the following error message, during user login and it cannot be removed whatever option is selected... it simply pops up again. It does not stop the machine functioning but it cannot be cleared. It seems others are also suffering from this problem, could it be a Microsoft issue?

At random times since yesterday, I have been getting this error message.

I looked around on the forums but could not find a solution. I already ran scans with my Trend Micro, Ad-Aware, and Spybot but still get this error.

Here is my Hijackthis log..anything in there that looks like it could be the problem?

Hi

This looks like a drive that's either no longer present or moved...

Do you have any card reader software installed like dit.exe? Do you have Norton installed? Has there been a recent update in Quicktime?

It's a weird error that is multifaceted.

Hi, I keep getting a pop up box on the screen when I turn the computer on. If I close the box down about 20 times it disappears, but will later return. My computer is also making some strange noises since this started.

I looked at some posts on this site and followed some instructions, which were to Download and run HijackThis and click Do a system scan and save a log file. I was then told to post the logfile on this site. After doing this, I was advised to Run HijackThis and click Do a system scan only, and then somebody might be able totell me which files to Put a checkmark next to these and click Fix Checked.

This seems to be a common problem. I am running XP Home SP2, and I have just started to get it in three applications:

SpyBot. It stops the Bot Check process, although I was able to force the process to work by patiently clicking on "Cancel" until it ran through nearly 67000 checks. But that revealed nothing, and the message was still there.

Lavasoft AdAware. The message popped up and locked my system completely, although I was able to Logoff via Alt Control Delete.

AVG Anti-Spyware and AVG Anti-Virus 7. The message popped up when I opened the programs, but disappeared when I clicked on "Cancel".

After some 'net research, I found a site that said that TROJ_ANICMOO.AV leaves this message. I down loaded Trend Micro House Call and ran that, and it didn't identify this particular Trojan. I have also run AVG Anti-Spyware in safe mode, with no result other than a couple of routine tracking cookies. CCleaner reveals no such problem, nor does Glary Utilities. I have also uninstalled my USBs without any success, and done a system restore to an earlier date, again without success.

I think my PC is clean of malware, and I'm not running Norton or Quicktime, which I have seen as the causes of this problem. But there have been some recent Windows security updates, and I wonder if these may be the source of the problem. I would be most grateful for any ideas about how to fix this problem.

Welcome to BC Techguy53,Truly not a good idea to just run any of these forum specialty tool scans without one of us suggesting it. Especially one like ComboFix, that can make aggressive changes, and can potentially make things worse on the system. As is this log only shows it removing one Logitech file in error, and then some non-descript files that may/may not be malware related. That startup error really is also not often related to malware problems, but more often some remnant or error startup that needs to be removed. The logs do shows at least one undesirable software, with that Kiwee Toolbar (see here), so let's at least take one additional detailed look here before I recommend posting in the BC Windows XP Home and Professional forum for some ideas. To keep them from interfering with the repairs, be sure to temporarily disable all antivirus/anti-spyware softwares while these steps are being completed. This can usually be done through right clicking the software's Taskbar icons, or accessing each software through Start - Programs. Here are some antivirus disable tips if needed. Download RSIT (random's system information tool) from here to your desktop. Then click on the RSIT.exe to open the RSIT display, and click the Continue button. If RSIT downloads/installs HijackThis be sure to agree to the install of that.Once the scan completes a textbox will open - copy/paste those contents here for review please. The log can also be found at C:\rsit\log.txt.RSIT will also create a... Read more

First off, I want to apologize for starting a new thread on this because I know that there are hundreds if not thousands of cases of this. I have tried multiple things and nothing has seemed to work. From my research it seems that it is possibly a norton problem. I just reinstalled windows on my hp and it was with the factory xp installation disks so it comes with all the "free offer" crap. I removed everything that I didn't want and now it is coming up with this message on startup every time: "Windows - No Disk. Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c"
I have searched and tried other methods but none have worked so far. I do not think it is a malware or virus issue but I do have a hijack this log file.

Post a HijackThis scanlog.

Download and install HijackThis using the "self extractor". Run it and select "do a system scan and save the log file". Then copy/paste the contents of the log to a reply

Thanks for reading. I'm a rather confused do-it-yourself kind of 17 year old whose always the one who has to fix the computer related problems at her house. Usually, I can fix things easily with a virus scan here or an update there. But there is one persistent problem I can't fix.

I keep getting a message reading "no disk exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c" message. I can cancel it out or say continue, but the message keeps returning. With said message, I can can't use the internet properly. Right now, I'm using my desktop on safe mode and my laptop. Both run on XP.

I've gone google crazy, and I've tried plenty of "solutions", none that work. I think that this may be more of a virus than a driver problem since I have my D and C drivers--my external USB goes into "G".

I have a hijackThis report. I don't want to mess with this because this is something totally new for me.

The only window I am able to move over the top of it is the Windows Media Center "Maximize" display mode. Since this problem first began, I've done a complete system recovery, and the error (actually 2 errors but I haven't been able to replicate the first of the 2) started again after I placed--and then removed--a disk in the DVD-ROM while Windows Media Center was open (in "Restore Down" display mode). I've searched for a solution to this annoyance, but the error is occurring for others in a different fashion (I.E. at start-up, using I.E., etc.). I've been getting this error message: "exception processing message parameters 0xc000007FEFC3E718C" every time I shut down or log off, accompanied by "Bad Image" messages from time to time, usually concerning davhlpr.dll. I've run the System File Checker three times, and each time it returns an error saying davhlpr.dll is corrupt and it can't restore it from the file store. I tried replacing davhlpr.dll with a copy I downloaded - once in Safe Mode and after setting the proper authorizations -, but each time I run the System File Checker it still shows davhlpr.dll as corrupt and says it can't replace it. By the way, I get the same "exception processing message" error when logging off in Safe Mode and from a brand-new account I created. This is a fully updated, recent install of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. It seems to have started happening after I tried a couple of dialog-box enchancement utilities. But I've uninstalled everything I'd installed from before it started happening. Does anybody have any advice as to how I can try to track this problem down? A:Error: "exception processing message parameters 0xc000007FEFC3E718C" You may need to restore it straight from the CD instead of the local repository cache stored on your Windows drive. Following the instructions here will do just that. Btw, the c0000007 error means that the pagefile quote for the process has been exhausted. Make sure that your pagefile is existing and is of a decent size. You may need to recreate it by removing it, restarting the PC, going into safe mode, then adding it again. If you've set it to be able to expand on demand and your free space is very low this may also be a problem for it. Though most likely this may be caused by stack trashing and other software bugs. 9 more replies Answer Match 88.8% Hallo, Ik ben nieuw hier. En nu heb ik een probleem. A:Windows - No disk Exception Processing Message

I fixed the issue. It was either taking removable drive from the boot sequence or updating nero 8 to the current download. I did both at the same time.

Whenever I start my computer I get this error message: Windows no disk exception processing message c0000013 parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c.
I have the option of cancel, try again, or continue. It takes several clicks of the cancel button to make it go away.

I am not a computer person by any means, so I googled the error to see if any one else in the world was having the same problems and perhaps fixed it. I saw that someone renamed their drives for removable disks and the problems was fixed, so I thought that I might do the same. However when I open disk management all there is, is Drive E and F. There is no C/D drives. Shouldn't there be? How do I get them back??? Please help!!!

I have no computer experience so simple and explicit terms would be greatly appreciated.

My operating system is windows xp, I have a gateway gt4015E computer. If you need more info please let me know

I had the same problem I went into Programs / Start Up and removed both Hp applications restarted the computer and Whalla no more message. If you want to keep the HP quickstarters before deleting them try inserting the original HP installer disc then clicking try again on the error bar and if that fixes the problem post it and I will restore mine and do that, I just wanted a quick fix at the time. I really hope this helps you.

This error window keeps popping up whenever I open a new program: Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6f9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c Usually, after 30 or so clicks, it goes away. Now, it is tenaciously staying on my screen, front and center. Also related to the "no hard disk found" error window. Can anyone suggest how I can make this go away?tHANKS!Moderator Edit: Fixed open and misplaced BBCode tags. ~ Animal

Please explain more about the no hard disk error - when does this happen, can you still boot into Windows, have you run any tests on your hard disk?

This is a new hard disk that was replaced after the old hard disk had a SMART failure. After installing this hard drive, and putting a new OS (windows XP) on, the OS installed as drive "H". To remedy this, I followed the procedure below: (full link here: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Hard-Drive-Problems-2113/Rename-hard-drive-Windows-1.htm)

Make a full system backup of the computer and system state.
2. Log on as an Administrator.
3. Start Regedt32.exe. (its regedit32 and not regedit)
4. Go to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices
5. Click MountedDevices.
6. On the Security menu, click Permissions.
7. Verify that Administrators have full control. Change this back when you are finished with these steps.
8. Quit Regedt32.exe, and then start Regedit.exe.
9. Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices
10. Find the drive letter you want to change to (new). Look for "\DosDevices\G:".
11. Right-click \DosDevices\G:, and then click Rename.

Note You must use Regedit instead of Regedt32 to rename this registry key.
12. Rename it to an unused drive letter "\DosDevices\C:".

This frees up drive letter G.
17. Quit Regedit, and then start Regedt32.
18. Change the permissions back to the previous setting for Administrators (this should probably be Read Only).
19. Restart the computer.

The disk would not boot (big surprise!!) so I performed a repair install of XP. Upon completion, the hard disk recogn... Read more

Blind luck is sometimes better than vast knowledge. I have been dealing with this error message for at least 2 years. I have an HP Media Center computer. Out of the blue, this error message began showing up when I re-boot. I've tried numerous fixes (many from online forums). I tried restore points, un-installing programs, un-installing media drives, etc. The only temp fix was clicking cancel on the error messag about a hundred times. It worked as long as I didn't re-boot. Over the last two years I have searched for a solution. None worked.
Then, my wife was playing with sending video to our email from her phone. When I tried to watch it I was told I needed Quicktime 6.5 or newer to view it. I never use quicktime but never bothered to uninstall it.
When I tried to view the video from my email, the error message popped up and wouldn't go away. It was apparent that Quicktime loading was setting it off. After alot of clicking cancel, I was able to close Quicktime and the error message. I went to control panel and uninstalled Quicktime. I then restarted the computer. I then went to Apples site and re-installed Quicktime 7.5. When I restarted my computer (several times now), there is no error message. Can it be that easy? 2 years of headaches.... I hope it works for others. It's so nice to have the annoyance gone. good luck, Lucky fixer....

thank you very much for your posting. It did solve my problems, also, just want to let you know that that problem was also preventing me from getting on to the internet. And your advise solved all those problems. It was great!
Thanks so much!

Hi,

I'm getting a "Windows - No Disk Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c" pop up.

This happened a day after I connected my iPod. I have no Norton Antivirus installed, no new devices installed (i have already been using the iPod for quite a while now) nor removable disks left in the floppy and CD-Rom drives.

So far, I've already done the following:
1. Reconnected the iPod - Windows did not detect it
2. Removed iTunes
3. Removed Quicktime
4. I tried using HiJack and got this log:

Hello and welcome to TSF.

Sorry for the delayed response. I can't see anything abnormal in the log. My research indicates that error is usually reported to be associated with Quicktime when present in Startup. Try uninstalling Quicktime and see if you still have the problem.

PS. I had these logs made without running MEDIA CENTER or MESSENGER and without the pested little window showing up at the same moment. It does show randomly, in fact. I wonder if this means the Analysts can NOT see anything. Should I do all the logging again with the bug window on screen?

Hi! Please be kind to help me through this alien pest:
exception processing message c0000013 Parameters 75b1bf7c 4 75b1bf7c 75b1bf7c error keeps popping up. A few days ago I had to restore my HP Pavilion Media Center Edition to its original 2004 status (using the F10 drastic method).

The PC crashed after I downloaded (and paid \$19.99 for) something called Driver Whiz (I had a problem with extended screen mode in Media Center and so I tried to check for new drivers, had a couple installed and then...).

Anyway..it broke down and so I got back to 2004, then had to reinstall SP3 etc. AFTER THAT problems kept showing up mainly in these two forms: either the above one (exception processing message c0000013 Parameters 75b1bf7c 4 75b1bf7c 75b1bf7c) or this other error message (that is in italian):Windows - disco non presente impossibile trovare il disco nell'unit?. Inserire un disco nell'unita \Device\Harddisk1\DR1 (or higher digits DR2 DR3 etc.).

Seems that the bug operates whenever you open the Messenger or Media Center programs. Or upon shutting down when there's some auto update waiting.

I have tried to follow precisely the new forum rules, and here I am. I post the DDS.txt and I attac... Read more

Hi. Not to pour salt in a wound, but I would have allowed WinXP to install a generic VGA driver rather than using the Recovery discs that came with the PC; essentially, starting over with 6+ year old drivers, updates, etc. Unfortunately, we're beyond that now.

You can try installing SP3 again. I've had instances where it didn't install properly and did not receive an error message. After installing SP3, I'd recommend just logging off at night for 2 or 3 days to let Windows pick up the newer updates automatically rather than manually installing them. See if that works. If not, we'll go from there.

Do you have an actual WinXP CD? or is it just the Recovery CD's that HP ships with the PC?

Hi,

I've been getting this message every time that I try to run Spybot and Ad-Aware. I've had a look through the forums and from what I've seen I have to say that I'm not confident that I can take what has been suggested there and convert it to solve my problem.

I've run HijackThis and the log-file generated is underneath. If anyone could help me with this that would be great. Thanks.

This is really a "Security" issue; if you need further help let us know and I will move it to the "malware" forum.

In the meantime check and "fix" this entry in the HijackThis log and reboot:

I keep getting this message when I try to start my computer normally. It doesn't prevent me from starting the computer in safe mode, however. I had been getting it while my computer was on, and I used this walkthrough to try and resolve it: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_I_remove_exception_processing_message_c0000013_parameters_75b6bf7c4 I tried the first step: Solution 1) Click on start, control panel, task bar and start menu, click on the start Menu tab, click on Customize, click on Clear List button. While it was clearing the list, it froze up. Canceling the process then resulted in my desktop icons, task bar, and start menu all vanishing. All I had open was firefox, which remained visible. I had hoped that turning my computer off and then back on would fix it. Instead, the error message above pops up and my mouse and keyboard seem disabled. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

My primary concern is getting rid of the warning that keeps popping up every 15 seconds, unless I dont close it. After that, I feel like I have way too many things running in the background but do not know what should or should not be there.

I have included the logs that the prepatation guide asked me to obtain below. Any help that the experts out there can offer would be much appreciated as this is my work computer.

I just began getting this error yesterday. What is the likelihood that another issue besides a failing hard drive is causing error? Secondly, I've already purchased a new hard drive as a precaution. What is the fastest/easiest way to backup/clone this drive?

A:"Windows detected a hard disk problem" error message

Hello,

Please open an elevated command prompt.
When you have the command promt open please enter the following command:
sfc /scannow and press enter.
After the scan is 100% and the scan did repair files please restart your computer.

Please re-open an elevated command prompt and enter the following command:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

The cbs.log file will be posted on the Desktop as the current user, named sfcdetails.txt. Please attach this file in your next post.

Note: You can also copy/paste the commands to make it easier.

You would do well to follow the instructions for it sounds like you have a HD on the verge of failing.

Probably just co-incidental that you just did a clean install.

After you back up run a chkdsk to check the HD status.

A- CHKDSK /R /F:

Quote:
Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.

Do this for each hard drive on your system.

When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter.

Then reboot and let the test run.

It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors.

See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.

B- Elevated Command Prompt:

Quote:
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)

At the top of the Search Box, right click on Cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"

C-CHKDSK LogFile:

Quote:
Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and... Read more

First of all, i just want to let everyone know that i am not very good with computers so, please bare with me.

Here is my problem, my wife was trying to download pics from her memory card of her camera (sd card) to my computer so that she could burn the pics to a cd. My computer (Gateway GT5016H) has a slot to insert the memory card into the tower of the computer. She inserted the card, retrieved the pics and proceeded to burn them to a cd. When she was done, she shut down the computer.
Now evertime i start the compuer i get an error message pop up "windows-no disk" "there is no disk in drive. Please insert disk into drive." I also must click cancel multiple time to get rid of the error message. Gateway tech's could not help resolve the problem and told me to contact the manufacture of the sd card because they believe there is a compatability issue. I have windows XP if you need to know.

Can anyone help me.

I get this error message whenever I try to run iTunes or load a music CD. I cannot get it to disappear, and end up having to reboot. I have run A-Spyware & A-V software, and have cleaned my register.

I saw a solution to this in forum threads, which referred to using "Hijack This". But the solution required someone else to look at my log file, and then suggest specific actions.

Can anyone help me through this please?

Many thanks.

Hello,
I'm trying to install Windows 7 64bit to HP dc7800 Ultra slim desktop PC from USB flash drive (since PC hasn't got CD/DVD drive). At the partition selection step I get message "Windows cannot copy files to this disk".

I've tried the following:
format HDD and create partition table with DISKPART via win7 disk command promt,
format HDD and create partition table with GParted (creating to primary patition: ~50 GB NTFS '"WIN7" and ~100 GB NTFS "DATA",
wipe all data from HDD writing random data,
create bootable USB flash with different tools (Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool, Novicorp WinToFlash),
memtest86+ both operating memory modules (2 x 2GB) for 6 passes,
leave only one module connected to motherboard (with each),
reset CMOS setting in 3 ways (via BIOS, removing power cable and CMOS battery, pushing CLR_CMOS button on motherboard),
set HDD as the first boot device
but nothing helped.

I've searched in BIOS for different HDD emulation modes (AHCI, IDE), but the only present setting present:
Storage -> Device Configuration -> Hard Disk (SATA0):
Emulation type: Hard Disk, None,
Multisector Transfers: 8, 16, Disabled,
Translation Mode: Off, Automatic, Bit Shift, LBA Assisted, User.

What can I do? Your help is appreciated.

UPD:
Tried removing USB flash key and refresh the partition list in partition selection menu. Didn't help.

A:Windows Startup "No Disk" Message

I don't see the "usual suspects" there, but I would suspect IPOD or Itunes, or perhaps "disk keeper"

Anyway, try doing a "clean boot" to see if it happens:

Run msconfig and select the "Services" tab. Check "Hide Microsoft Services" and then disable the rest. Also uncheck "load startup group" on the general page.

See this link for detailed information:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310353

Now restart and test the issue at hand

If no problems, run msconfig and recheck half the disabled items on the Services tab. Test again. If the problem recurs, UNcheck half the items you just checked to narrow down the culprit.

If the problem didn't occur, check the other half, so all the Services are enabled -- proceed to do this on the startup tab as well.

Get the idea? You want to isolate the problem to a specific startup if possible.

Note: if you already have items unchecked under msconfig > startups and are in “selective” startup mode – you should note what these are before beginning. They will need to be de-selected again.

Hi.

I am using Windows XP SP2. I just uninstalled Norton AntiVirus 2004. The uninstall would not complete, so I downloaded and ran the SymNRT program (from Symantec) to remove the program. All went well. The program advised that all Norton products had been successfully removed. Upon reboot, after I click my icon on the XP "Welcome" screen and type in my password, windows loads the desktop as normal. A few seconds later howeverm I get the following message:
"Windows - no disk Please insert disk in drive"
Clicking 'cancel' removes the message and everything appears to be fine. I did a bit of research and have already tried the following to no avail:

Clearing recent files list from QuickTime
Starting the PC in Safe Mode to see if the error comes up (it does).
Disabling SpySweeper from running at startup
Disabling ZoneAlarm from running at startup

I still get the error. I since have re-enabled ZoneAlarm and SpySweeper. I have also installed NOD32 AntiVirus. The error remains constant. It happens each time I reboot.

I notice that the log file below refers to L:\Adobe\Photoshop Elements in a couple of spots. I recently did something that caused drive letters to change. I used Drive Mapper in Partition Magic to help fix any problems and all appears to be well. My old "L:" is now "G:". I'm not sure if this is relevant, because this happened a few weeks ago and the error I'm posting about only started today. I did figure... Read more

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Subst] subst C: F:\

Other than that the scanlog is ok.

When did this problem begin? If recent, you might just want to try a System Restore.

The problem is occasionally due to the system trying to access some removable media which has no disk in the drive, such as a zip drive.

It can also be due to drive letters being assigned to drives that no longer exist. What exactly is on your "c:" drive?

Hi:
It all started with the RealPlayer 14 update. Right after it was installed I would get a "Windows - No Disk Exception Process Message c0000013".
Since I had used RealPlayer 12 up until then without problems, I thought the best solution would be to reinstall RP 12 but it now no longer recognizes and plays any CD as before.
So that's why I went to Registry Booster to see if I could find the reason for RP not playing any of my CDs.
When my PC is turned on, RegistryBooster starts and progresses to User Related Errors and the meter reaches "8", the "Windows - No Disk Exception Message" again shows up. When that happens the RB is halted and doesn't go any further.
The program "X" appears to have been started by the RB because I find it necessary to end RB before I can close the error window. I do that by using Ctrl + Alt + Del and then selecting Registry Booster and clicking on "End Now" button. When that completes I can then click on the "Cancel" button in the error window and the error window will now close. As long as RB is running I can't close the error window.
Is this caused by an infection?
If so, how would you go about finding the offending program and removing it?

A:Exception Process Message c0000013 error

Bleeping Computer DOES NOT recommend the use of registry cleaners/optimizers for several reasons:? Registry cleaners are extremely powerful applications that can damage the registry by using aggressive cleaning routines and cause your computer to become unbootable. The Windows registry is a central repository (database) for storing configuration data, user settings and machine-dependent settings, and options for the operating system. It contains information and settings for all hardware, software, users, and preferences. Whenever a user makes changes to settings, file associations, system policies, or installed software, the changes are reflected and stored in this repository. The registry is a crucial component because it is where Windows "remembers" all this information, how it works together, how Windows boots the system and what files it uses when it does. The registry is also a vulnerable subsystem, in that relatively small changes done incorrectly can render the system inoperable. For a more detailed explanation, read Understanding The Registry.? Not all registry cleaners are created equal. There are a number of them available but they do not all work entirely the same way. Each vendor uses different criteria as to what constitutes a "bad entry". One cleaner may find entries on your system that will not cause problems when removed, another may not find the same entries, and still another may want to remove entries required for a program to work.? Ok, I built a PC a month ago and everything seemed find no problems of any sort. The other night I defragmented my hard drive and shut it down and turned it on today to a memory test and the message "Disk Boot Failure, Insert system Disk and press enter"

The computer has access to the XP pro w/ sp2 disk only as a boot device but it will not recognize it now.

I have set Cd-rom as 1st for boot sequence then hard drive I have no floppy drive and the bios has been configured to know that.

I am not sure if this means anything but in the bios the IDE Channel 0 Master says none and when I try to turn on auto detection it wont detect a hard drive.

The HDD is fully connected and has not been touched since I installed it a month ago.

I have this awful feeling that I fried the HDD when I defragmented it last night.

Any help would be very much appreciated. But please be simple this is my first build and my knowledge at this sort of thing is very very sketchy at best.

A:Error message "Disk Boot Failure, Insert system Disk and press enter" on first build

The first thing to do would be to get a new data cable for the herd drive and see if that fixes it, they are nice and cheap nowadays.

I have been getting these "Bad Pool Header" and "System Service Exception" BSODs for about a day now (the "Bad Pool Header" one tends to pop up more often then the other btw). I ran a registry cleaner which didn't work and ran memtest this morning and it showed that my memory was fine. The BSODs tend to occur more often when I am playing a game or running some program that uses a bit more memory but it also happens when I am just on the internet. On the other hand, last night I did nothing but surf YouTube for 3 hours and didn't get a BSOD at all. However, since then I haven't been able to do anything for more than 10 minutes (without being in safe mode) without it crashing, and this morning it completely froze until I turned it off. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. It came preinstalled from the manufacturer and unfortunately I do not have the install disc. The entire laptop is less than 2 years old and there have been no major hardware changes and I have never reinstalled the OS.

UPDATE: Another BSOD just happened after I left the computer idle for a couple of hours except this one said something about Asdsm.sys.
