I have a Alienware M11X R2 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and this is the only Operating system this computer has ever run besides Ubuntu which is on a separate partition. I have not modified the hardware aside having Dell/Alienware install an extra 4 gigs of DDR3 ram and a 500GB hard drive and i have the I3 CPU. I had no problems with anything until early last week, up until then everything i threw at the system ran fine.

The OS was recently reset to factory settings via Alienrespawn, basically my hard drive was formatted and everything was restored and returned to the state it was in when it arrived at my home via a drive image, and i am still having the problem. I am running the most recent driver from Nvidia, and my computer is roughly two months old and i have not abused or treated it poorly.

I am out of ideas on how to fix this, i figured formatting my hard drive and re-installing a bare bones OS state and re-installing the newest drivers after cleaning out all the traces of them with Drive Sweeper would fix the problem but a few random games such as Need For speed World and SD Gundam Capsule Fighter Beta Blue screen anywhere from 5 minutes in to a hour or more in game. What baffles me is i can play Borderlands or GTA4, or even Crisis all day, for more then 8 hours and never see a single blue screen or very very rarely but as soon as i run one of the above games it blue screens very quickly in most cases.

Any help would be appreciated, the files requested are ... Read more

A:Blue screen of death caused by nvlddmkm.sys, while running some games

This is rather urgent, and if someone is going to provide me support it needs to be soon since i need this computer for college work which is due this week, and unless someone helps me figure this out soon ill just take things into my own hands again and see if i can make anything change, if that does not work ill just end up calling Dell customer support and see what they can do, i would really rather not do that since, as stated i need this computer for College since i do a lot of Media work in multiple programs and this is the only PC i currently have to do that.

I am experiencing a problem which has stumped me greatly. Whenever I download a patch for a game (so far I've tried Battlefield, Call of Duty, and Battle for Middle-Earth) and begin to install it, I get an error message shortly after the patch begins. It seems as if all the files are corrupted or something. I can download everything else just fine, like video and music files, but not game patches. I've tried downloading the same patch from several different websites using both IE and Firefox, and had my friend send one to me over AIM, but none of them work. I was able to patch games just fine until a while ago, I think after I used System Restore to go back a few weeks to take care of another unrelated problem. And I know that it is something wrong with my computer specifically, as I patched Battlefield just fine on another computer in my house using the same Internet connection. The only other thing I can think of to try is burn the patch onto a CD and see if that works, but my other PC doesn't have a burner, so I'll have to wait to try that I guess. Anyone have any ideas? It's really bugging me.

Hi,

I've got a repeating problem with my PC where about 10-20 mins into a gaming session, I get green rectangles appear on the screen while the game crashes before going to a blue screen and then automatically rebooting.

It's happened on Crysis and The Last Remnant so far but doesn't happen on Morrowind, Oblivion or Football Manager.

I'm completely stumped by this problem, so any help in finding out what the problem is and how tot fix it would be great.

My system is Core2Duo E6400 2.13Ghz, 4GB's of RAM, Nvidia 8800GT, Asus P5E Mobo, Corsair HX620W.

Hope someone can help

3. Select the list below 'write debugging information' and select (none).
I hope this helps!

This problem has occurred "somewhat"(I don't know when exactly) recently. I used to be able to play full screen games just fine but now (for some reason), everytime I launch a full screen game, it auto minimizes.

When I alt+tab back(or click the game icon on the task bar), it remaximizes the game but quickly gets minimized after a second.

Games play fine while in "windowed" mode(Warcraft 3, etc).. Full screen keeps minimizing.

I use Windows Vista Ultimate (64 bit):

Nvidia GeForce 8300(onboard video card).
I've done scans with Avast, Malware Bytes, and Super Antispyware and they all found nothing.

Three months ago(same system), full screen games played fine however I was on sort of a "full screen" gaming break, so I only recently tried playing full screen games like Warcraft 3 and this is when I encountered the "auto minimizes" problem.

The only major difference(between the time full screen games worked and now) is Avast 5. I upgraded from Avast 4.8 to Avast 5, other than that, there were no other major changes with the computer I am on.

Avast 5 is on Silent/Gaming mode, and I tried disabling all the shields temporarily to see if it would fix the issue but it didn't.

Does anyone have any ideas(or need anymore info that may help)? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
Edit: I found a solution(though still looking if there is another way to "fix" this issue) - Right click on a program shortcut(or progr... Read more

Blue Screens produce minidumps. Go to C:\windows\minidump. Select all the .dmp files and right-click sending these files to a compressed(zipped)folder. Upload this folder as a file here. The minidumps will help us find out what is wrong or causing the Blue Screens

I'm experiencing the "Blue screen of death", it recently just occurred and it hasn't happened before when I was gaming. The exact date as where it started to do that is in the morning of the 2nd of October 2012. What happens when I experience the blue screen is that I try to get into a game, it loads and I last about around 50 seconds to 4 minutes for normal gaming and then it starts, the graphics go haywire, as in it looks like random shapes and polygons and waypoints, it pixelates then crashes giving me that blue screen. It only affects gaming, nothing else. I have already tried to reinstall the drivers for my graphics card and also my computer is not even 1 year old at this point in time Please help!

See if there is an update for your ATI Radeon HD 3870: AMD Support & Drivers

If this is the latest driver try:

Download Driver Sweeper from - Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
Install DriverSweeper
Uninstall your Radeon drivers from the Control Panel > Programs and Features
Reboot your system into safe mode (Hit F8 during Boot)
Run DriverSweeper (from within Windows Safe Mode)
Check on "AMD-Display"
Hit Analyze
Select All and Hit "Clean"
Reboot back into Normal Windows (not safe mode)
Install your new drivers

I have got Garry's Mod working with program called SwiftShader. It emulates software vertex shader processing wich my graphics card doesnt support by hardware, BUT i cant use it because VAC doesnt like it and i could get VAC banned. It also lags very much. My graphics card also doesnt support Hardware TnL, but either Vertex Shader or Hardware TnL isnt required to play these games.

A:Blue screen when launching games

Hi and welcome to TSG,

The problem appears to be associated with the ASUS Enhanced Video Driver and from what I have seen appears to be a problem for many people. If you Google atkosdmini.dll you will find quite a lot of hits with people with the same problem.

If you still have the installation file for this enhanced driver then run the setup again and choose the unistall option and that should sort it out. If not, ill see if I can find a link to it for you or maybe someone else will come on and know where to get it from. Ive just had a quick look on ASUS website but cant find it at the moment.

I've attached the minidumps from the 5 times the machine has crashed so far. It only seems to crash when playing games (but not every time i play them). I ran Memtest+ for several hours and never got an error. The error never seems to be quite the same, but it all seems to be memory related. I guess the memory could be bad, but I don't know for sure. I'm not 100% sure what the power levels are / should be for the memory.

You have several different causes of these crashes. With some many causes we have to start thinking hardware. I would first look at memory.

to test your memory download memtestx86 and run it for 5 passes.

If you receive no errors in 5 passes run a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow please note the space between sfc and "/"

Let us know the results so we can give you further instructions.

Hello luciferpulse,

It is likely a driver associated with that game but to pinpoint the exact cause, we need to look at the crash dump files. Pl. upload those in zipped format. See here.

I've been assisting someone with their computer, trying to save them from well the perils of sending a computer in for repair, I'm not sure what is still under warranty, but they've built their computer piece by piece.

I've had them do all the instructions needed to compile the report available in the zip file, which contains all the information, including their OS, and other hardware.

I' would have liked them to have run memtest86, but they won't run more than a few passes, as they won't find time to dedicate their computer to running it. (No big deal.)

I'm narrowing down the results, I thought it was a driver problem, and I partially still do.

But I looked into it, and I didn't rule out the potentials of hardware failure. The problems seemed to have started out of nowhere, and have been caused by who knows what.

Honestly, it occurs most of the time while they're playing games. (Which has strongly lead me to be possibly videocard related.) But, there is no signs of decay in video, screen tearing, texture stretching, oddballs pixels etc.

So, that makes things really difficult for me to understand what the hell is going on, this is when I decided, that there is a potential for the harddrive to be at fault, it is however a Seagate, and they're supposed to be able to take upto 60 C in temperature, which it was working around 50-53-49 C which is pretty hot when I think harddrive temperature.

So, then of course I thought it was the ram, games are memory in... Read more

A:Blue Screen while playing games.

Hello FusionEko and Welcome to TSF,

The faultcode for your last two BSODs (the ones i've gone through so far) is:

Code:
BugCheck 4A, {74d12e09, 2, 0, fffff88009374ca0}
Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!KiSystemServiceExit+245 )
PROCESS_NAME: rustyhearts.ex
BUGCHECK_STR: RAISED_IRQL_FAULT
So my best guess it's happened while playing Perfect World/Rusty Hearts?
Even if the game itself may not have been started, an updater or some sort seems to have been active aswell, which could've been the cause to it.

Your displaydriver:

Code:
atikmpag.sys Wed Apr 20 02:22:32 2011 (4DAE3558)
Is quite up to date, but there is a newer one available, so I do recommend you going with that.

But the main cause is a driver related to this game, so either a graphicsdriver or a specific systemfile/driver for your game. I'll look through the other BSODs and let yo know what I find! Meanwhile update the display driver and possibly reinstall the game.

Hello,

How are the temps? Install HWMonitor and post a screenshot of the program at idle and under load.

Has the fan and vents been cleaned lately?

Try the steps below to completely uninstall the graphics driver:
-Download Driver Sweeper here and install it. Don't run the program yet
- First, Uninstall the NVidia driver/software from Control Panel > Uninstall a program and restart
-Now run Driver Fusion, select Nvidia Display and then select Delete
-After complete restart the PC then install correct Graphics driver from the MSI Support Site.

The dump files that is in the report is 0x116 Video TDR Failure. This can usually be caused by faulty drivers, Overheating, or faulty hardware

Hi!

I have just recently bought a new computer, with the ASUS GeForce GTS 250 Dark Knight installed on it and am experiencing the BSOD while loading my newly installed games such as Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty 4.

I was searching around and my problem mirrors this particular problem diagnosed in this thread: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-xp/669512-solved-irql_not_less_or_equal-when-trying-watch.html

I have tried to follow the instructions given in the above-mentioned thread but i am unable to uninstall the ASUS enhanced video driver, apparently the cause of the problem, as i can't find any way to delete the driver. Consequently, i removed the NVIDIA drivers from add/remove programs in control panel and installed the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com but i am still experiencing the same problems.

Here is a log from one of the minidump files:

Hello! I have some questions about an HP notebook that I have. Whenever I try to play games on it, the blue screen of death appears with this blue screen:

(sorry a little blurry)

http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/9995/0110012126.jpg

The top is a little blurry cuz i took it really quick with my phone, but you can clearly see the error code.

The thing is, I know the game can run because I have gotten Aion (MMORPG) to run perfectly for a good 10-20 mins before it BSD'd on me. It IS however, a chipset graphics card. Here are system specs:

HP ACPI x86-based PC (Notebook)
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5270 @ 1.40GHz
2.0GB RAM
Windows Vista Build 6002
Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family

Anyone know what this code is saying?

It depends on the blue screen error. You will need to go into the settings to disable the automatic reboot of the computer if you want the error code.

Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1
1. Visit the PC manufacturer's website and update ALL drivers. DO NOT use Windows Update or the "Update drivers" function of Device Manager.
2. Check Device Manager for any unknown/disabled devices - if there are unknown/disabled devices, fix them with the latest drivers from the device manufacturer's website (not the PC Manufacturer)
3. Visit Windows Update and get all updates (may take repeated visits)
4. Visit Windows Update and get Service Pack 1 (usually under Important Updates). Read these notes for installing SP1: Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 from the Microsoft Download Center

a problem has occured for the past couple of months now. I had been playing games such as DiabloII and i recently purchased Warcraft3. The problems didnt occur until a little while ago, they first appeared on DiabloII. The game would stop and the sound that was current before it froze repeated so it was like a jittering repeating sound and then came the blue screen it said somthing along the lines of Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal it told me that if this is the first time seeing this message restart, but if i had seen it over and over again disable BIOS cache and shadowing, it sayed it stopped to prevent damage. i didnt do any of the bios stuff i just kept restarting on a regular basis, this didnt used to happen before, it started a couple of months ago as i said. This continued with Warcraft3, i have a Geforce2 mx/4oo and i dont know if its the driver problem because i have downloaded the new driver of Nvidia.com and i just went thru the program and did all what it said and restarted my computer and the same thing kept happeneing only it showed the blue screen once in a while and most of the time is just Froze on the spot with the sound all jittery. Hey everyone,

I have been experiencing a blue screen... well, a restart with a message that tells me it was a blue screen... Basically, im playing world of warcraft, and my monitor goes dark, says theres no signal, even though all the tower lights are on, and it restarts. Then I get a message saying that windows recovered from an unexpected shut down and the error was a blue screen.
I downloaded blue screen view, and it says the bug check code is 0x00000116, and the driver was dxgkrnl.sys .
A quick google search says its a video card thing? Didn't really understand... But, It only happens while playing a certian character, and not other ones. I'll include the dump file, and if anyone could help, it would me greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Running windows 7 64 bit, it's a preinstall from dell, and i've never done a clean install cause dell doesnt send disks anymore.

Conclusion
3 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

win32k.sys (Multi-User Win32 Driver, Microsoft Corporation)

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination the errors that have been reported for these drivers and include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions from users who have been experiencing similar problems.

The games run fine if i start them up right after starting my computer. I was thinking the problem might be with my RAM since I didn't go with the most reliable brand, nut im not entirely sure and i don't want to take my computer apart if the RAM might not be the issue.

So I've been having this issue for some time now. I get random blue screens in random games.
It can happen with any game, I played 7 days to die which is a pretty low end game almost like minecraft yet my pc crashes after 5 minutes in the game. I can play new games like Batman: Akrham Origins or Dota 2 with no problem at all so the problem isn't if my PC can handle them. I switched my card with a friends card and the crashes stop, funny thing is when he uses my card everything works fine on hes PC.

We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (t... Read more

I got a new power supply the other day becuase my old ones were pretty bad and i think overheating was a problem. Today everything was fine while i was gaming and then the screen becomes black then to the blue screen. Has things about memory dumping etc and the error was to do with sysdata.xml and some other thing. I dont really mind since the computer has been on most of the day but i dont think overheating is an issue here. How could i fix this?
With the new Power Supply it isn't often it does this but its frustrating anyway and i want to fix it

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your minidump crashes at your graphics card driver. Try updating the drive.

It`s very difficult to be sure what is causing your problem from only one minidump.

I know Daemon tools can cause problems on some systems/configurations.

Go HERE and follow the instructions.

If that doesn`t help. Zip 5 or 6 of your latest minidumps together and attach them here.

Hello,

I randomly have issues of game's crashing into "BlueScreen" errors. Well the screen isn't really a bluescreen but rather the image of the game becomes 'corrupted'. Sometimes you can still hear the audio while the screen is frozen in place and it sometimes auto restarts the computer on it's own. I am either playing World of Warcraft or Starcraft II.

***************************************************************
***************************************************************
These are my solutions:
1. Though the error occurs in both games, I have re-installed them both games multiple times.

2. I have installed the latest drivers, including my graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT. Problem Persists

3. I initially had Windows Vista 64 Bit running, but I had just did a clean and fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. Problem persists.

4. I have 'cleaned' out my desktop computer from dust and took out the graphic card and placed it back in.

Hello folks, before 1 day I started getting the so called BSOD when playing games such as CoD Modern Warfare 2/ L4d2/ AC 2 etc. Before I could play theese games with no problems. What happens is that I run the game, play for 5 minutes and everything crashes and i ge tthe blue screen for 1 second (means I can't provide the error code that it says in there as it apperas for 1-2 seconds only) and my PC restarts.

PC specs: Intel Core2 duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20 ghz 2.20 ghz.
Ram: 3.00 GB.
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce XFX GTX 285
OS: Windows Vista SP 2 32 bit.
Power supply: 550 watts.

Now I though this was a driver problem, because I found this on nVidia's website.

So what I did is unninstaled this driver (thinking this was the one I had) and installed the newest one, still problem persists. I tried doing Roll Back driver, problem persists. I tried downloading an older driver from theese, problem pers... Read more

Okay, I have been trying to fix this problem for at least a month now, and its starting to really get to me. I know a good amount about computers but this one I just cannot solve. No matter how many google threads I search, no matter how many things I look up, I cannot fix the problem.

The problem is a diverse one. Basically, it started happening out of nowhere, I thought I might have had installed faulty drivers or something, or a virus. So I reformatted my computer, and it kept happening. I reformatted it three more times to no avail.

The problem is:
Blue screen of death
Error Messages:
nv4_display.dll
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Hardware failure
Memory failure

(Those last two failures I found by reading the minidump file.)

They mostly occur when I am playing a game such as Counter Strike: Source, which is a heavy 3D game to run. I was thinking maybe my card was going, but I play a 2d game that a 10 year old computer could play with like 128mb of ram and I get the same problem. Sometimes BSOD, sometimes just the game erroring.

I called BFG, and we checked out a few things, and they thought my video card was faulty. I have not sent it in yet, but I tested with another card in my computer: Nvidia 7300 GS 128mb PCI-E, and I got the same error! This means it is not a video card problem.

I have all the windows updates, all of my drivers are up to date, I have done virtually everything I can to solve this with no avail!

Hello all. I am having serious problems with the computer games that I play. Specifically, they are Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, and World of Warcraft. Whenever I play these games, at some point the session is almost guaranteed to end with the game locking up followed by a blue screen. The blue screen tells my that my display driver got stuck in an infinite loop. I have tried to reinstall the drivers and update them to the most recent, but this does not help me at all. This problem has been going on for about 6 months now. This is an unusual situation in that we were forced to perform a factory reset on our computer a few months before the problems started. Before that, I never had any trouble with my games locking up and crashing. Sometimes the games crash to desktop instead of to a blue screen, though the resolution has been reduced to 800x600 with 4 colors, as opposed to 1280x1024 with 32 colors. I can't change the resolution without restarting the computer. I'm not sure why this happens. I'm thinking that the graphics driver is somehow deactivating at some point during gameplay for whatever reason and causing the computer to no longer be able to handle the games. Here are screenshots of what I'm talking about.

A:Freezing and occasional blue screen in games

Your error is 0x3B and these are often caused by faulty video drivers. Try the following:

1. Download Driver Cleaner Pro or Driver Sweeper (both have free versions; make sure the version will work with your OS) to your desktop screen and install.

2. Download the latest diver(s) for your video card but don't install them.

3. Uninstall your video card drivers and reboot your PC into Safe Mode. Run Driver Cleaner Pro or Driver Sweeper but ONLY for the video card drivers. I had someone use it on their chipset drivers! If it doesn't find any video card drivers that is quite okay.

4. Reboot and install new video card drivers.

My problem started during summer 2015 (on Windows 8.1) around the time assetto corsa 1.3 patch came out as it would just crash after about 5-10 mins or on second lap usually. During this time I only played in VIrtual reality games of which were only driving sims. I put it down to a problem with assetto corsa and moved on to play iracing with absolutely no crashes at all.
Since then I installed Windows 10 and sold my vr headset. I then started to play games such as among the sleep ( a fairly low graphic game) I recently played the division beta which is a top end graphics game and it would crash within the 5-10 mins. My PC generally crashes to a blue screen but it has crashed to a red screen with a loud noise over the hi fi or headphones.
Whilst playing on the division beta I thought I would try and see if the crashes were due to what my graphic settings are. I lowered them to the lowest setting and my PC ran fine with no crashes. After an hour of stable gaming I upped the graphics to high and again my PC crashed to a red screen within 10 mins or so.
I would like to say my PC runs flawlessly when not playing games or even low demanding games. My guess is it is the gpu or maybe my CPU. Sorry... Read more

I'm assuming you mean "Integrated Graphics" when you say "No graphics card". Do me a favor, go to Start. Type "dxdiag" and hit enter (it doesn't matter if you hit yes or no in the dialog box). Take a screenshot and post it. The first tab and the "Display" tab please. I'm going to guess this is a DirectX issue.

I purchased a computer that had been rebuilt from a local company. Withing the first couple of hours of playing a game online it bluescreened on me. They came out and added some memory and told me it had now got 3 gig instead of 2. My computer doesnt recognise this and tells me there are just 2 gig installed. One of the latest bluescreens told me that it was NV4_disp.dll so i then updated the nvidia driver to the current one. It worked ok for a while then started going crazy on me again. I dont know what to do. My pc is Windows XP Professionalk version 2002, service pack 3. pentium 4CPU 3.40GHz 2.00GB of RAM (even though they added 1 more). Please help!

A:Blue screen when playing games online

To be honest what you should do is take the PC back to the local company. They should not rebuild PCs and add more RAM while you pay them just to cause blue screens. Just make sure the games you are playing aren't too high spec for your Graphics card, should tell you on the back of the game case what Graphics requirements it must have.

hello,

i've been having this problem for about 3 months. I will be playing a game,
usually something resource intensive such as unreal tournament 2004 or
warcraft 3, and the computer will give me a blue screen error about 30
minutes into the game. I've tried just about everything to fix this problem.
The error is

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR _EQUAL

there's a stop code as well, if anyone wants to look at it. Also, I have mps
reports and minidumps from 2 or 3 of the incidents, but the dumps are all
corrupted. At first, i thought it was a video driver problem. So i tried
about 6 different versions of ATI's drivers. That didn't work. Then someone
tipped me off to sound driver problems. I replaced my onboard sound with a
sound card. This seemed to solve at least part of the problem, the system
would crash much less often. However, now games would just crash to windows
every 30 minutes instead of having a blue screen error. So i tried installing
service pack 2, using windows update. This caused a file to become corrupt,
and caused windows not to be able to boot. I formatted, reinstalled windows
with service pack 2 already on it. I then did windows update, and got all of
the necessary updates, and then i installed the drivers for:

my wireless lan card
my chipset
my sound card
my printer

i used the microsoft drivers that came with service pack 2 for video,
thinking these would be absolutely compatible. So after running a game for
about an hour, it crashes to ... Read more

Hey all. I have problem, again.

While playing games my PC freezes, I get sound loop, PC restarts. However no blue screen occurs, it just restarts. Sometimes I can play forever and no bsod will occur, but sometimes bsod occurs after few minutes.

I've ran memtest86 for 16hours, no errors. Prime95, no errors. Cleared CMOS. Fresh windows install. Temperatures of CPU and GPU are normal.

My PC: Asrock P67 Fatal1ty
Intel i5 2500K
Corsair Vengeance 4x2GB
ATi HD 6850 Sapphire
SSD Samsung 830, 128gb
HDD WD Caviar Blue
Crosair TX650 v2

When I run Driver Verifier and select all drivers (expect Microsoft ones), pc crashes before boot logo loads (this time I get blue screen, but only says STOP: 0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF80002E73736, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000), nothing more) and doesn't create minidump. When I deselect all drivers and select only random ones (tried with several of them) windows loads, but when I log on to my account, pc freezes before it completely loads (this time, no blue screen occurs and minidump is not created).

Since crash dump mentions ATI driver, I reinstalled graphics driver, but BSOD still occurs.

First of all, I know there's already a lot of posts in forums about this error, and almost all of them got solved by replacing parts from the computer, and if I have to do that, then I might as well be sure that I really have to do it, so I came here to ask for help.

So, this all started about 3 months ago when I decided to install Assassins Creed, went fine for about 30 minutes and then, for the first time, it showed me this blue screen (0x00000124), and every time I tried to play the game, the same blue screen appeared, so I gave up and uninstalled it. I was playing League of Legends at the time too, and the error never appeared. And now I get to the reason that took me to make this post. About 1 week ago, this error, the one that appeared when I played Assassins Creed, started to appear when I played League of Legends, and Aion, which is really strange because it never appeared before. And now every time I try to play anything, this error appears, and even when I'm watching stream, the error appears. I don't know what to do. I already tried almost everything (didn't do 9) that was on this post (Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try) and nothing worked.

I'm leaving a zip file with everything that SF_Diagnostic_Tool gave me.

Hope someone can help. :)

Forgot to mention something, I already ran Memtest86+, FurMark and used BlueScreenViewer. Memtest showed no problems. FurMar... Read more

hello,

i've been having this problem for about 3 months.

So after running a game for
about an hour, it cra... Read more

Hey guys, I'm starting to have black screen problem for around 2 days now when I'm running certain games and FurMark @ 1080 FHD Preset. I'm using the MSI GTX 970 and I've been using it for about 6 months now. The black screen problem is always followed by an error message sound but I couldn't find out what the error message is since I have to restart my PC after this happens. Aside from the black screen, everything else is running just fine, I can turn off my PC manually using windows button and shut down and the sound is still running. I've updated my graphic card drivers but the problem remains. Any idea what's wrong with it guys?

Hey guys. So, my first post here. I got a custom build about 1.5 months ago. It has got a GTX 950. The mistake I made was not testing some games on the damn thing sooner. Approx. 20 days ago, I installed Dying Light and on starting it, it played out the intro, got to the checkpoint screen and blacked out. I could hear weird noises. Not the game sounds, but buzzing, whirring and beeping until the monitor switched off after a minute or two. The only solution was to hard reset using case button. I thought it might have something to do with settings and left it alone. Due to real life issues, I couldn't do anything till a day ago. Optimistic, I tried it again. Same as before. Tried reinstalling and everything on forums about DL. I tried other games. This time from Steam. No luck. Then, I even tried a very new game - The Lost Mythologies. The opening screen comes on and the the same thing. This was suspicious. I tried FurMark (at 720 preset). I got the same results. Black screen, no sounds this time and monitor's message: "Power saving mode", which is basically no output signal from the GPU. I can't even monitor GPU temps or anything while running these things. The only game running (out of Windows 7 provided games) is Osu!. I found this thread. Seems pretty similar to mine. Would you guys suggest anything from it? Any other solutions? I can provide any other info you might want. I don't have any overclocking applied.

There may be a setting in your video drivers to allow a lower resolution to stretch to fill the whole screen.

As a side note, I don't trust third-party apps to handle my drivers updates...not when they are simple to do yourself, to make sure they are installed properly.

The black screen problem is always followed by an error message sound and I figured out the error messages. Sound and my application are still running perfectly fine so it should be the graphic card issue

For Furmark I got "Error Code 7, A TDR has been detected. The Application must close".
For my games, the first one is quite weird, it shows a warning "The 'NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970' device is not removeable and cannot be ejected or unplugged".
The other error is "Error Code 3, Unable to recover from a kernel exception. The Application must close."

I've tried clean re-install and update drivers but none of them worked.
Any information would be greatly appreciated guys

Cheers!

The problem started around a week or two ago. When I run full screen games, the screen becomes black and the system does not respond to anything. Programs in the background still run as audio can still be heard. I suspect it may be BSOD but am unsure. The problem does not occur right away, it happens when the program has been on for around 10 minutes.

Some additional info: When I received the computer from the seller, I accidentally uninstalled some drivers and had to reinstall them. I tried to find the drivers on the NVIDIA site but the ones marked for my GPU did not work. I found another driver that worked, but I am not sure if that caused other issues.

Hi, I recently assembled my own computer mainly for the purpose of gaming. First day after assembly, I was playing Skyrim fine and everything was going perfectly. Second day though, I was playing skyrim and suddenly everything stopped, the screen went black, and a blue screen came up saying something about having to do a memory dump and then it shutdown rebooted my computer. I freaked out but I though it was just a one time thing because then I played for another two hours without a problem. However, the next day the crash happened three more times and on the third time, instead of there being a memory dump and a whole bunch of data on my screen, there was just a few lines of text and it said "There is a problem with your hardware. Check with your hardware manufacturers." and instead of rebooting like the usual crashes, it just staying on the blue screen and I had to reboot the computer myself. So far, the only two games I've played are skyrim and WoW and it's crashed on both of these games. If anyone could please let me know what the problem might be, I would be extremely grateful. Hi,

There are no DMP files located in your jcgriff output folder.

Please navigate to C:/Windows/Minidump and zip up any dump files located there that you'd like to have analyzed, and then attach that zip here. If there are no dumps located in C:/Windows/Minump, you may be writing full memory dumps to C:/Windows, and it'll be called MEMORY.DMP.

If there are no dumps in either of those locations, but you know you have a page file set up, any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUp Utilities, CCleaner, etc, will delete this upon use.

These are my solutions:
1. Though the error occurs in both games, I have re-installed them both games multiple times.

Stop 0x124 is a hardware error

If you are overclocking try resetting your processor to standard settings and see if that helps.

If you continue to get BSOD here are some more things you may want to consider.

This is usually heat related, defective hardware, memory or even processor though it is"possible" that it is driver related (rare).

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.
Generic "Stop 0x124" Troubleshooting Strategy:

1) Ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Hardware that is driven beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - can malfunction in unpredictable ways.
2) Ensure that the machine is adequately cooled.
If there is any doubt, open up the side of the PC case (be mindful of any relevant warranty conditions!) and point a mains fan squarely at the motherboard. That will rule out most (lack of) cooling issues.
3) Update all hardware-related drivers: video, sound, RAID (if any), NIC... anything that interacts with a piece of hardware.
It is good practice to run the latest drivers anyway.
4) Update the motherboard BIOS according to the manufacturer's instruct... Read more

I have experienced this problem for quite a while now with a lot of games;

I used to be able to play the following games just fine:
Gunz: the duel
Silkroad
ROSEonline

and some other freetoplay games. they worked great and I enjoyed playing them.
Anyway, now, some years later, when I try to play any of those games I get the following Bluescreen stop error:
***STOP: ERROR 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0xB9DFCAE5, 0xB9C42B4C, 0x00000000)

this is what I tried to do so far:
cleaning my pc (wiping all the dust from fans and RAM that is)
uninstalling my videocard driver and installing again
scanning my pc with lots of software

Reinstalling windows fixed the problem for one of those games (gunz) but with the other ones i am still experiencing the same problem over and over, whatever i try...

I have uploaded the most recent minidumps. I hope you can help me.

oh right, my pc specifications:
2GHz pentium 4
512MB RAM
GeForce Ti4200 (128MB I believe)

If you need to know anything else for you to help me please let me know

A:Blue Screen message with games that worked just fine.

All the dumps crash at khips.sys, which belongs to Kerio Personal Firewall. I found the following thread that says there's a conflict with any game that uses GameGuard. The error is the same as yours, but I can't get the process from your dumps.

The last post is dated February 22, so there may not be an update available. You can always try a different firewall.

I have recently built a new computer after having multiple issues and problems with my last one. However, this one does not seem to be without its own problems now. Whenever I play games (Magicka, World of Warcraft, Assassins Creed, SimCity, Starcraft 2, pretty much any game), either the graphics driver fails, shutting off the display for 5-10 seconds before restarting, or the computer flat out locks up. The screen freezes, sound plays as normal for 5-10 seconds before the sound locks up as well giving the long grating sound before everything falling silent. At this point it will stay like this until I hold down the power button. If it helps at all, after I press the power button again to turn it back on right after there is a several second delay. Read somewhere that it might be a power supply issue. Any thoughts/help/advice?

A:Computer lock up, no blue screen while playing multiple games

Apparently happens about every 15 minutes if I try to play Sim City. Ran FurMark, definitely doesn't seem to be anything overheating...

Hi,

I started getting BSOD in August, but I fixed it on Sept 9th by updating my ethernet card. And my computer worked fine until an unexpected shutdown last night which was followed by a bunch of 0x9F problems, then 0x116 when I started up any game.  I already did a disk check with /f and /r, and sfc /scannow. I also http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2665946 did this in which I changed the TdrDelay to 8. I had the latest graphic driver, but I went back a version of the driver to see if that solved anything, but it didnt. My graphics card is nVidia GeForce GTX 675M. Attached is a couple of my blue screen reports. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Yoshi
