Q: Compatibility of HP notebook with NVIDIA videocard driver fo...

Dear everyone, To not waste anyone's time I'll try to formulate my question as clear and direct as possible. Additional information that may be important will then be given. In short my question is the following: Is my particular system (HP Elitebook 8570w Mobile Work station, a notebook) compatible with the NVIDIA Quadro K1000M driver for Linux (x64)? The following background information may be useful to see where I'm coming from and to be able to answer my question. Background info:In the past I have installed Linux Ubuntu next to the pre-installed Windows 7 on this machine. Everything worked well except for the video card (dragging windows around the screen wasn't smooth which is very irritating). I assumed that I had to install the correct driver for the video card which is also compatible with Linux. Having done a little searching on the internet I tried both a `default' Linux driver as well as a driver form NVIDIA that was supposed to work with a Linux (x64) system. However the problem was not solved and actually became worse as time progessed. Finally I abandoned the Linux system and went back to Windows altoghether. Now I want to give it another try so I have looked up the driver that is supposed to work with my video card and a Linux (x64) system. At the tab `additional information' however it says the following: Note that the list of supported GPU products is provided to indicate which GPUs are supported by a particular driver version. Some designs incorporating supported GPUs may not be compatible with the NVIDIA Linux driver: in particular, notebook and all-in-one desktop designs with switchable (hybrid) or Optimus graphics will not work if means to disable the integrated graphics in hardware are not available. Hardware designs will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so please consult with a system's manufacturer to determine whether that particular system is compatible. So as I understand this is the correct driver for my video card for a Linux system. The question if it works on my particular hardware system (HP Elitebook) is however not answered. I am affraid it will not because when I installed the NIVDIA driver before, it was also the correct driver for the video card and Linux, but it didn't work well. As my HP warrenty has expired I can't get official technical support (right?) so I hope that anyone of you can help me with this question. Thanks in advance! Alwin

Alrighty! Here goes!

I've been searching online for five hours looking for fixes for this. I recently replaced the Windows 8 on this Notebook with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Edition because, simply put, I bloody hate Windows 8.

This has become problematic for me because it appears that there are no compatible drivers that pair Windows 7 and this device's hardware.

I posted in Yahoo Answers about an hour and ten minutes ago and I'm incredibly frustrated with the results (go figure). A link to that question, in case I forget any information I mentioned there: Downgrading to Windows 7 with HP 2000-2b89WM Notebook? - Yahoo! Answers

The product information page for the HP 2000-2b89WM Notebook is located here: HP 2000-2b89WM Notebook PC Product Specifications HP 2000-2b89WM Notebook PC | HP? Support

I have several drivers that are "Out of date." The main one that I'm worried about is the Graphics/Display driver. On the HP website, the device is listed as: Intel HD graphics 3000 with up to 1696MB total graphics memory.

I've tried installing the Windows 8 drivers (which do nothing) and I have also tried updating my drivers through Windows Update. I've also visited HP's driver site, Intel's, and even NVidia, I believe, all to no avail.

I'm hoping that an informed someone can tell me whether or not there are drivers for my graphics chip, and if there are, where I can find them and how I can install them in working order.

Thank you so much for any help! ... Read more

My VISTA based hp notebook uses the 6150 Ge force chip set or so the hp system info states.

I have 2 odd problems......
I use a 2 montor set-up with a a 24" screen as my 2nd screen. The system always boots up fine. I can run email on the notebook and web stuff on the large screen.

1. If the system goes into sleep mode or similar, about 50 % of the time, when it wakes up, the visible portion of the mouse pointer is invisible on one of the screens. It happens on the 2nd screen the most, but, randomly will leave no visible mouse on the notebook. The mouse is still active and can do its normal functions. The only way to bring the mouse back is a full restart.

2. Again, usually when coming out of sleep mode, the larger 2nd monitor could be dark or lit up, but, will not show any visible web pages or similar.....just dead. I can usually do a work around to bring it back alive using the "NVIDIA Contol Panel". I activate it to use only a "single" screen and let it reset. Then, activate the "dual" screen and let it reset and the 2nd screen is alive again.

I have gone to the NVIDIA driver support page and when I get to driver update, I get a note that I should go to hp for any driver updates. I visit hp and they say I have the latest update....!!! Very frustrating.

Can anyone help me solve these problems...??? My guess it that it is a NVIDIA bug problem....
Many thanks,
David

I have an Insignia D400 That has 768mb Ram Currently have an Ati radeon 9250 pci. Running Windows xp sp2 and thats pretty much it.. further information are in the link below:

http://insigniaproducts.com/products/computers/D400.html

I was wondering what would be the best video card that would work on this Computer. the computer can only accept pci videocards. and the board is a Intel® uATX D845GVSR.

If possible list multiple videocard that will work with my pc..

Thank you

A:Videocard Compatibility

Here are some PCI Graphics Cards that will work with your system.
Any of them will do fine. Just make sure you uninstall your previous graphics drivers, before you remove the old video card. If you already have a Video Card in your system, you will want to try to match the model. Don't mix ATI graphics cards and NVidia graphics cards!! Good Luck!

hi everyone, I just bought a k8s760mg-6Lrs motherboard with athlon 64 3000+ system with onboard video. The problem is that I believe that the video driver is having some sort of compatibility problem, and I think it's with my o/s which is win/ME or maybe with the monitor because when i install the driver that the motherboard comes with and i reboot the computer. After a minute, the whole screen becomes colored lines and i'm not able to do anything, but when I remove the video driver and reboot to windows and run it without any video drivers, it's pretty stable and it's able to function normally....of course the video isn't too clear without the video driver. From this, i concluded that it has to be some sort of driver compatibility issue and that my onboard video isn't a bad one>.????

I'm thinking of getting a video card...but how will I know if a certain card will be compatible with my new motherboard and O/S? I have gone to a vendor homepage for a sample video driver to see if it would list the motherboard and o/s that it would be compatible wth, but it doesnt.

A:motherboard/videocard/os compatibility

Your motherboard has PCI and AGP slots, so you can get a PCI or AGP video card. Any video card will be compatible, and should come with drivers, if it doesn't, you'll be able to get one off their website. You'd probably be getting an ATI card or an nVidia card, and they have many drivers available for each versions of Windows. Any video card will work fine, as long as it is PCI or AGP, not PCI-Express.

A:Best videocard for Intel machines Ati, Nvidia or others

There is no "Best" but you must make sure that your 450 watt power supply can handle it...
You will find terrific arguments from every side... nVidia, ATI, etc..
Then you have to figger in what games you play
Most often it is a cost issue...

SIMS does not make huge demands on your system... but I would change the power supply before going too much higher than your nVidia GeForce 7050...

Unless you are shooting for higher, more powerful games, you are likely fine with what you have.

I am possibly upgrading my video card today from a Nvidia Geforce FX5200 to a Nvidia Geforce FX5500 and I seem to remember some cautionary posts in the past.

Are there any recommendations as to whether I should reboot in safe mode and completely uninstall the old card from my entire system or should I just try loading the new one over what is already there? I think I remember reading some issues people had with upgrades because of overlaping drivers and such and thought I might avoid some headaches by asking first.

Thanks for any info that can be provided.

A:Upgrading Nvidia Videocard and Advice is Needed Quickly

You shouldn't have any issues since they use the same drivers. The only thing I would do is uninstall the old card from Windows device manager and shut the machine down. Then install the new card and boot into Windows. Once everything's working, install the latest Nvidia drivers.

Hi everybody,

First, this is my first post here... and second, my english is not very good. So try to be cool with me!

So, I will try to tell the most information I can do.

I've buy a new laptop, a Toshiba Satellite A200 with Vista Home Premium 32bit. The graphic card it's a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family. the last version of the driver it's the 7.14.10.1280, May 22, 2007.

But the problem it's I cannot update the driver. I've downloaded the good driver, but when I want to install, i've got this error message:

? The driver cannot be validated in this computer. Contact your hardware vendor to get the right driver. The installation process will stop. ?

So, after few minute, i've found a utility from intel to identify the chipset of the card. Again, i've got this page:

What is strange, it's that the utility cannot identify the chipset... weird! So the only way I can get a new driver it's if Toshiba update himself the driver, otherwise I will get always this driver forever!

So, what can I do to update my driver from intel? If the videocard it's a Intel, why I cannot get the driver to be install???

A:Cannot update my Videocard driver

I'm sure you've tried to go to Toshiba and get the driver update but I thought I'd mention it.
Have you tried rolling your computer back?
If it worked before but now you are getting this error then try restoring it to before the problem arose, otherwize I'mat a loss as to why the Intel update won't work.

So I tried downloading new drivers (Catalyst 5.13 Windows XP Professional x64 Edition - Driver Download) which was on ati's website...During installation an error pops up that reads "INF error, video driver not found" and after I click on "ok" another pop up says "Setup unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adaptor with a standard VGA driver before running setup...

A:Videocard crashes/ can't install driver/INF error

Did you try to remove first all the previous drivers?
If not, go to Control Panel, then to Add or Remove programs, and uninstall everything related with ATI. Then, try to install the drivers again.
I was having the same issue with my 9600XT, and doing that I solved the problem.
Also, you say that the card (or system) crashes after 5 minutes of play.
Do you have an overclocked hardware? (CPU, Radeon, Memory)
Maybe your card or system is overheating.
You can check the temps of your system if you download Everest. Here is the link:

You can check them in the first tab, and then in Sensors.

Ever since I've installed Battlefield 1942 on my PC, I have problems with my ialmrnt5 display driver. It was too late to discover that the requirements doesn't match with my current settings.
My screen goes into a colorful 4-bit bonanza after it stops for about 5-10 seconds.

I've tried formatting my PC twice,

Updating my driver to no avail, even it's from the Intel website the problem still occurs.

I've tried removing my driver in safe mode then installing the latest driver

For now, I've removed 3D acceleration on my display settings so that this problem won't happen regularly. I'm planning to buy a new video card (GeForce) to solve this problem. I want to make sure it would solve this problem once and for all.

A:Should I buy a new videocard since my ialmrnt5 display driver is hopeless?

If the problem is in fact caused by the intel video driver then getting a new video card should fix the issue.

A:BSOD - BC Code 116 (VideoCard driver issue ?)

Quote:
"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception".

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds.

If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating.

Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU.

Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

I would download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video temps

I have Flashed the BIOS, uninstalled the onboard driver, and installed the hardware. WinXP doesn't seem to know I even added the card. I went round and round with HP on this and the last guy I talked to told me that it involves a complicated jumper setting on the motherboard. These guys are driving me insane, if I don't or can't get an answer here I plan to sell this card at $30 or 40 bucks just to get some of my money back on it.

Using a Shuttle AN35N Ultra 400 MB with nForce2 chipset.

Have installed 2 different 9600XT/256mb ATI "partnered" cards. The first was flaky with screen going black, lock ups, dim screen, etc. Seemed to be random and not only on gaming. Returned that card and the new one won't even boot. Tried it in an ECS k7s5a and it was dead with that mobo too. I've used ATI cards for years and have never had any problems with them so I'm disappointed (I'm being nice).

My questions are, should I use an nVidia based video with the nForce2 chipset? Is there a performance advantage? What would be comparable to the 9600XT?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ps I used latest drivers dowloaded from ATI. Mobo BIOS is most current. Reinstalled radeon 64 vivo 4x and works fine.

A:NVidia vs ATI compatibility questions

There seems to be a compatabilty issues with nForce 2 chipset and Radeon 9600 series cards that no one has been able to explain. I have 2 systems with nForce 2 mobos and they work fine with Radeon 9800 and 8500. There is probably a voltage issue with your 9600XT and the K7S5A since that board is about 5 years old. Get a Radeon 9800 or an nVidia 5700 and up for good performance.

I have a Laptop, about 6 months old now.
It's a Samsung RF511.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Intel Core i7 2630QM @ 2.00Ghz
DDR3 8192 Mb Ram
Nvidia 540M 2GB
My problem is, whenever I try to view a photo it would lag opening and once its opened I'd see blue pixel fragments all over my screen. Previously I tried to Re-install the latest driver. That didn't work. I uninstalled it and removed the registries and what not, that didn't work. So I'm now on a newly formatted Laptop and opening the Default images the Windows provides gives me these errors. Before I formatted I was getting these Errors - "Nvidia Display Driver Has Stopped Responding and Successfully Recovered".
I've read this link and I've done some of what they've said as I stated above.

I don't have anything installed other then Starcraft 2 which is being Optimized right now - and that's it.
I had Photoshop CS6 installed on my previous Installation of Windows and when this problem Occured Photoshop had trouble as well.

So does anyone know what I can do?
I really don't want to send the Laptop off. I'd like to see if I can fix it myself first. If not then I'll send it in.
Any help would be appreciated...

I've attaced an image showing what these blue pixel blocks look like with the Driver Displaying stopped responding

I forgot to add. I was getting the same Blue pixel things, and a lot more when I would open up Starcraft 2. The game ... Read more

I need to know before I buy a new videocard because my main driver is ialmrnt5 for my current videocard. My driver is Intel82865G.
I have problems with my main driver ialmrnt5. The screen freezes for 10 seconds then everything goes 4-bit and the color quality is very low.
I've tried formatting my PC twice, updating my driver, set my BIOS settings from PCI to Onboard/AGP....
Will getting a new videocard solve this problem? I plan to buy Geforce. I don't want my money to go to waste.
Please help!!!!

A:Will buying a new videocard solve my ialmrnt5 display driver problems?

Sounds like the onboard GPU may be on its last leg. When you install a graphics card the integrated unit gets disabled (you will probably need to do this yourself) so it will definitely fix the problem. -But before you go buying something we need a bit of information first, like your budget, power supply specs, and graphics bus type (AGP 4x or 8x).

Before you install a new video card, you need to uninstall any existing display drivers and disable the onboard device. Once this is done, you can install the new graphics card and boot the system normally. Download and install the latest drivers for the card and restart the computer. You should be done after that.

Hey GUys

I bought Call od Duty 2 and, after installing DirectX 9.0c, tried to run it, but each time a DirectX error came up saying "DirectX has encountered an unrecoverable error. See the DirectX FAQ for deetails" and it crashes. I did all the stuff said on the FAQ. Iv posted on the Activision Support a few times and, on my third post, someone told me my graphics card (nVidia GeForce FX 5200) wasn't compatible with DX 9. But the system req's on the box listed nVidia FX series as a compatible with the game and DX?? Will the FX 5200 card work or not? Is this causing the error. I ran diagnostics on DX and found no problem with it, so i think it has to do with the hardware.

THanks to all who reply to me question!

Did you download the latest DX9? The card comes with DX9. If you need 9.0c there must be an update. Did you compare all the game requirements with your card's specs?

Bought an XPS 8900 from Best Buy May 2016. Used as stock config since then as a home CAD machine.
I think it came stock with a GeoForce 730, maybe ?
Had it hooked up to a single Dell monitor via the DVI cable.
I took an NVidia Quadro 2000 2GB video card from an older XPS 8700 that I had installed it in and had been running fine, plug and play, and removed the GeoForce 730 from my new XPS 8900 and installed the Quadro 2000 in the new 8900, expecting no problems.
The Quadro has DVI out and two (2) Displayport out. I tried the DVI, no luck. The tried the Displayport, still no luck. Monitor is asleep, does not respond.
I know this card is a little older, but I am not sure why it would not be supported on the 8900, when I just plug and played it on the 8700, no problem?????
is the NVidia Quadro 2000 not supported for some reason? why?
Is there any way I can make this work ont he XPS 8900?

Hello,

After many many hours of searching forums for solutions I have been unable to find a solution to my problem - so I decided to open a topic of my own and hope someone can help me with my problem specifically.

My problem is similar to this topic, although the solutions posted there aren't working for me. In short: I have been experiencing random but frequent BSODs (16 and counting) with the message 'driver power state overload' being displayed.

In my quest for a solution I wanted to upgrade my drivers, when I noticed my Nvidia Geforce 650M graphics card seems to have disappeared. When I try to install the latest driver from Nvidia's website I get the error 'graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware'. Attempting to open the Nvidia control panel gives me the message 'An Nvidia graphics card was not detected on your system' and I cannot find the card listed in the device manager (only the intel HD graphics family is listed under display adapters)... To be clear: I'm quite sure my laptop SHOULD have this card, it's just not detecting it for some reason.

Since the symptoms of my problem are exactly the same as described in the topic linked above, I have tried to follow the solution described by Arc. Installed Driver Fusion, started in in safe mode and tried to delete Nvidia drivers - but nothing seemed to be listed here. I still clicked delete but not sure if this actually did something or not.

A:BSOD driver power state / Nvidia graphics driver problems

Hello Zephos.

As per the supplied data, this is the specification of your graphics.

Code:
Name Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0166&SUBSYS_21031043&REV_09\3&11583659&2&10
Adapter Type Intel(R) HD Graphics Family, Intel Corporation compatible
Adapter Description Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Adapter RAM (2.080.374.784) bytes
Installed Drivers igdumd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igdumd32,igd10umd32,igd10umd32
Driver Version 9.17.10.2932
So, it says it is not nVidia. But as you are saying that it was Nvidia Geforce 650M, and it disappeared, the best option is to contract the vendor. I wish you are within warranty?

Hi,

I was working with an audio recording software just now when I faced this error (in the subject line). The screen blacked for 10 seconds or so and then came back.

Also, I faced similar errors when I was using Power Point and a screen recorder software but the error was a bit different nvlkdm has stopped working. Also, I had just installed IE 9 beta (hardware acceleration), opened the first site and the system crashed and I had to do a hard reboot and unistall IE 9 to save my life from such errors again. The errors are just random. The nVidia drivers are downloaded the official nVidia and are the latest available for my DELL XPS M1530 with 8600M GT. (OS Win 7 Ultimate 32bit)

I also got two BSOD's at different time with a message saying:
"Unable to reset the display. A problem occured with the display driver driver"
I noted this error code on the blue screen
000000x16 nvlddmkm.sys
Dumping physical memory etc. etc.

There are no Minidumps being formed in Windows/Minidump (I just enabled them now), so I wasn't able to post any of them :-|
All temperatures normal, RAM test with Windows Memory Diagnostic/memtest/DELL Diagnostics pass, no overclocking.
However, I perfomed the stability test with Furmark for my grpahics acrd and the display started flickering with dots. Earlier when I installed the driver and had the performed the stability, it had ran absolutely fine for more than 20 min.

I received this error (see subject line or below) this evening while using Adobe Photoshop CS3 on my Windows 7 (64-bit) system.

Error occurred while attempting to use the slice tool in Photoshop. The screen froze momentarily (1-2 seconds), the went black (1-2 seconds) and then came back to "normal" but with the error message in the bottom right corner of screen. If occurred 3-4 times within 2 minutes. I rebooted Photoshop and it has not occurred since, but I'm extremely worried since my computer is my livelihood and I cannot afford to be without it should it go down on me unexpectedly.

I had a local guy install this video card on my system 2-3 weeks ago: http://www.staples.com/PNY-GeForce-9600-GT-1GB-PCIe-Verto-Graphics-Card/product_784288?cmArea=SEARCH

A:Manufacturer's graphics driver or Nvidia driver?

If it's just the driver we are talking about then you should download the latest version from the manufacturer. Just look for the WHQL as it will not be a BETA driver.
Personally, I never go with the drivers that comes with the card itself.

I?ve just bought a new Win7 64-bit computer ... still in the box. I will be connecting via dial-up, and have bought Wintek?s external Filemate USB Modem CX ... which came with a mini-CD installation disk.

I?ve heard horror stories about mini-CD?s jamming vertical DVD/CD drives ... so, hoping to avoid using the mini-CD and jamming my new computer, I?ve downloaded the installation/driver file from the modem manufacturer onto a DVD ... via my old Vista 32-bit system. But the modem installation file is zipped ... so I can?t unzip/extract the .inf file and move it to my new computer ... without installing 7-Zip (or something similar) to my Vista system.

Bearing in mind that I can?t download anything to my new computer until I install the modem, will there be compatibility problems from moving a file which was downloaded/unzipped on a 32-bit system to a 64-bit system? Any other suggestions for installing my modem?

Thanks a million ...

Hope I've posted this in the right place. I'm running XP, and yesterday I was given a Canon LiDE 110 scanner that I'd like to add to the system. I wasn't given the CD with it, so I looked for the drivers and download online. Thought I had it all, but the scanner doesn't work (just blackout boxes instead of pictures). I went back and tried the downloads again, but I've since found a notation on one site that says there's no download available for my operating system. Since most of the sites seem to indicate it is or was compatible, is there perhaps an outdated driver I need to make the scanner work with XP, and is there a place to find it since the scanner CD isn't available to me? Thanks in advance for any insights you can offer.

I just recently bought a USB to serial (RS232) port adapter as well as a USB to
parallel (IEEE-1284) port adapter. I need them to connect a development
microprocessor board and debugger module to my laptop for one of my current
classes. The usb to serial adapter works great and does just what it is supposed to
do, which is to create a virtual serial COM port through USB. The parallel port
adapter however did not come with XP drivers, instead it relies on the native XP
driver "usbprint.sys", which works only if you want to install a parallel port
printer. I don't want to hook up a printer though, I just need it to create a
virtual LPT port so that the debugger can communicate with the software.

The driver cd came with drivers for Win 98/ME, however. I have inspected the .inf
files and I can tell for sure that they do what they are supposed to, by creating a
virtual port, not just printer support. I have tried everything I could to get XP
to use the 98 driver, but for some reason it won't let me update the driver to the
older one. The .inf file's version signature says "$CHICAGO$" which means it should
work on XP also, but windows tells me that it doesn't contain information about my
hardware (which is total bs). The USB vendor ID and product ID matches the device,
which is what really doesn't make sense as to why I would get that error.

So I what I need to know is if it is possible to disable the native xp driver

So thing is my display driver - Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.

I have a Panasonic CF-51ECCDBBM Model.

So here is what happened---

I was a frequent user of the OS - Windows XP and my driver worked fine, I could play many low quality and few high quality games. But I tend to get infected when I was on XP. So I switched to a new OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, Build 7601) it automatically installed a the current driver I have as of now. When I try to play games on it, they will not work. When I try to play the Windows 7 Card game it lags terribly. I have done things such as the Windows Experience Index, Updating my driver via device manager, dxdiag, and several blogs and help sites. If possible can anyone help me or reccommend drivers that are compatible with my current OS and is substantially better than the piece of crap driver I have now?

A:Compatibility, VGA Standard Generic Non-PnP Driver.

terkking, welcome to the Seven Forums.

The reason nothing is working properly is because it is using the default Windows 7 driver, which provides just enough to get an image on the screen. Unfortunately from what i can find about that model of laptop,

Panasonic Toughbook 51 Notebook (CF-51ECCDBBM) in Notebooks at Dazzit! (USA)

is it has the old ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 graphics in it, and there is not now and never will be a Windows 7 driver for it. About the best you're going to get for it is the last XP driver for it. You are also going to have to use whatever driver Panasonic has available for it as the reference ATI driver will not install on it.

If you're feeling adventurous you can try using this,

Mobility Modder - ATI Version, Install the Latest Drivers on your ATI laptop

on this version of ATI driver,

ATI Catalyst 9.3 WHQL Windows XP 32-bit download from Guru3D.com

and it might then install. Regardless of which you go for you will likely have to use compatibility mode,

Compatibility Mode

to get it to install.

Hi everyone!

I have HAMA AC-150 webcam and it works well on every system but i can't find driver for 8.1 x64. I tried install it with Win 7 compatibility mode. I installed VMware Player and installed Win 7 x64 just to backup webacam driver with Driver Magician, but when i try to install it it's not signed and i can't so i tried this:

Solution
Disable signature verification of drivers:

Go to Start Menu > Run and type the following command:

bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON

If the Run command is unavailable in start menu, please refer to this FAQ
Restart the PC and install the unsigned driver
Note that it is highly recommended to enable the signature verification of drivers
Go to Start Menu > Run and type the following command:

bcdedit /set nointegritychecks OFF

Restart your PC

Now i don't have my webcam and my startup is weird. When it comes to logging and i enter my PIN mouse is not there and no rotating thing, about three times comes the "lockscreen" and then starts to rotate and screen come's without icons for few seconds. Can i do anything to save system of reinstalling it and is there ANYTHING that i can do with the driver coz i NEED webcam. If i could afford new one i would buy it and not bothering anyone. Even linux lagged me, every OS but this one is just perfect and i wanna continue using it ofc.. Thank You very much everyone and this is ID of webcam:

I have a laptop running 7 Home Premium that will not connect to the internet on any of 3 NICs. I have gone thru the netsh and reset tcpip stack fixes. No luck. It was working but just stopped a couple of weeks ago.

Looking at device manger(show hidden)\non plug and play drivers\ tcp/ip registry compatibility
I see that the driver is not starting. It will not start and I am getting the error message "the system cannot find the file specified".
The driver location points to correct location and the file is there.

The System event viewer shows the following:

It sounds like some type of system file problem.

You should try running the sfc/scannow command from an elevated command prompt and see if it can find or fix any file integrity problems. Sometimes you have to restart and run the command a few times before it fixes anything.

You could also try using system restore but it never seems to be working in these cases.... Read more

First post here, so thanks much, for any input. I received a message of Smart Failure predicted on Hard Disk 2 so I am trying to gather info for reinstall of new disk and programs.

Originally, my Gateway M-151X had Vista and I prepared a recovery driver disc from that system. Later, Vista crashed and I decided to install Windows 7. This was done by a computer shop so I don't know if they did anything about the drivers or not. I know I did have to go to Gateway website and reinstall the pointing device driver. What I am trying to decide is whether I can use the recovery driver disc after I install a new hard drive and use Windows 7 as the operating system or if I need to go to the Gateway site and download from their site individually.

Vista shipped on all these M series computers and they don't show but one set of drivers on the download site. Your opinion will be appreciated.

You will probably only need to download the synaptics device driver. Windows

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-Z820G with an ALPS touchpad. The scrolling on the touchpad stopped working so I did some research and found a recommended method was to uninstall the ALPS driver, reboot and let the computer find the touchpad and reinstall. It didn't work. In fact, now the touchpad does not work at all. Thank goodness I have a wireless mouse to keep functioning.

I then went and found the correct sony Esupport driver site and downloaded the original driver along with a recent update.
Sony eSupport - VGN-Z820G - Drivers & Software

The page specific to my model and operating system states it is for Windows 7 version.

When I install the original driver it fails and tells me that this version is only for Vista and cannot be installed. The update however installs fine but it's only an update and not the entire program.

What do I do now?

A:Sony Vaio driver compatibility

Check your manual and make sure there isn't a button or switch on the notebook to disable the touchpad is the first thing I would so. Then if no or it is enabled, check the bios to be sure it is enabled there also.

I have an Inspiron desktop running Windows Vista. What is the right formula for figuring out if all my Drivers are current. I know that when there is a yellow symbol next to the Hardware device that there is a problem. Is it important to go to the Dell website and install the Drivers that are stated to be Urgent. Is there any driver scanning programs that you recommend. I used Driver Agent and it detected that I needed to update a few drivers. I went ahead and did this, and when I scanned again it said I needed to update the same drivers. I have tried to update via Windows looking for the driver automatically, but it always says that I have the most current driver.

I have had some issues with the BSOD whilst browing the Internet and listening to Itunes. The error code is 0X0000007A. Do you think this error code is driver related?

Hello,

I'm trying to install Diamond One Touch EZ Grabber Video Software on my Windows 8 computer. (I have not updated to 8.1 yet.) The EZ Grabber software loads and opens just fine, but I am not seeing the footage from my game system through USB that I am supposed to be seeing.

I determined that this must be a driver issue. I tried running the driver setup.exe in compatibility mode and it appeared to do nothing. By default, it tries to run it through Windows XP (Service pack 3), and I also tried the Windows Vista and Windows 7 settings. For each one, clicking "Test the program" brought up my administrator "User account control - do you want to allow this program to make changes to your PC?" window. I click "yes" and nothing happens after that.

The device works great on my sister's Windows 7, and okay on my brother's Windows Vista.

Any clue how I can resolve this issue? I have tried tutorials guiding me through the process, which produced the same results as above, and I have not been able to locate a downloadable driver for Windows 8 for this program.

Any help is much appreciated!

hi everyone. i had this problem
The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.

Windows needs to be restarted so necessary changes to system files can be made before continuing.

For these items, make the following changes:
Uninstall these programs. Open Control Panel and search for "uninstall a program".

CxVCap, Video Capture Driver
while trying to upgrade windows7 with new version. i saw on net that some people have the same problem, but no solution.
well the problem was in my tv card (or it can be with some other capture device).
i solved it by manually deleting sys files from system32/drivers that are related to my tv card. in my case it was cxavsvid.sys (with mouse over you can see file description) and after that it worked!
it seems so simple but after hours and hours searching for solution and trying everything, uninstalling drivers, apps, cleaning drivers, finnally i tried this and it worked.
i hope that this thread will be helpful to someone. cheers

A:Dimension 3000 - compatibility with Windows 7 - video driver

Dell does not support Vista or Windows 7 on the 3000, so there is no video driver available from Dell.  If Windows cannot find a driver you will have to install a separate compatible video card.  The bus type in the 3000 is PCI (NOT PCIeX16) and the power supply is rated at 250 watts.  You will have to find a PCI, low power type video card that is Vista/Windows 7 compatible.

However, four of them did not install because they were either for Windows Vista, Win 7 or weren't compatible. I need my Graphics Driver, Audio, Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, and an 'unknown device'(?). The audio installed, but it still shows up w/ a question mark and the quality is poor so I assume it's the wrong one.

Attempted to install Driver Detective, but it wouldn't take...I assume because there is no internet connection?

Has anyone else done a complete XP makeover on their HP G72-b60US Notebook PC? Or ideas on what I can do next? HP no longer supports XP so going to them is useless for drivers.

Thanks for any advice!

A:Driver not supported for Hp notebook

Hi: Your PC is not supported by HP for W8 and there are no W8 drivers for the wireless network adapter your notebook has from anyplace (and probably no drivers for a few other devices too). I recommend you connect via ethernet cable, do the windows updates to W8 and then take the free upgrade to W8.1 from the windows store. If you don't have the ethernet driver, you can use the 3rd one listed on the link below. http://www.realtek.com.tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=7&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy... Then there are W8.1 drivers you can use from the 15t-ac000.  Don't use any of the BIOS or firmware files though. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-15-ac000-Notebook-PC-series/7771404/model/8381866/drivers Or once you are at W8.1 Pro, you can then take the free upgrade to W10 after you do the windows updates and get the W10 drivers from your model's support page.

I've gone into the nVidia site, I see information about the Gforce 4 mx 440, but no where to download a driver. The symptoms I have are this. I opened my PrintMaster program, and put a text box on a blank page, I type, and I can't see any tying. However, when I go to print preview I can read what I typed. I do remember at some point, months earlier than this happening, I had some kind of window come up saying something about lots of fonts on my computer. I don't download fonts. Some came with PrintMaster, but everything has been working fine till two days ago. This just started happening, I have no clue what I should do to find this driver. When I got my first computer about 8 years ago, the sales person put the fear of god in me about downloading drivers. Anyway, if anyone knows where I can find file 12903 for nVidia Gforce4Mx 440 I would appreciate it if they could point me in the right direction.
Thank you.

has anyone tried the 6.50 drivers? are they any good?? does it give any errors in win ME?? if they are not good, which version is the best??

A:best nvidia driver

6.31 or 6.34 seem to be most stable. 7.52's where leaked today but haven't heard good or bad yet and didn't install them myself.
