Q: Screen flicker with Dell Inspiron 15 7000 (7559)

I got flickring problem only while playing games in my laptop.

But,i alreday tried lots of way to fix this problems still i can't fix the flicker problem
I changed the power plan to High performance
I changed the Intel graphics video setting from maximum power saving to maximum performance
Finally,i updated my display drivers also .
Guys,please help me to fix this problem because it irritating me while playing games.

I bought the Inspiron 15 7000 (1TB HDD, non-touch) two months ago and have noticed that my screen flickers slightly intermittently. I'm adding a link to a video showing the problem at the bottom of this message.
I first noticed the problem during my first week of using this laptop and assumed it was a driver or software issue. Since then I've searched through forums to see if someone else has a similar thing going on. A lot of people have commented negatively about the screen for this model but that's mostly because of the colors and low brightness.
I have installed all the latest drivers (video, graphics, BIOS) from Dell's website as well as played with power settings (Dell Power Manager Lite and Intel's Graphics Properties) but to no avail. I should also point out that having the laptop on battery or plugged in makes no difference and the problem persists.
Please let me know if there's anything else I should try before sending it back to Dell. Thank you!

UPDATE: I sent the laptop back to Dell for repairs and they replaced the system board. Unfortunately, it has made no difference and the screen flickering still persists. Really bummed.

Hi, I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 7559 for school, my first laptop ever. It took me about 6 months to finally decide on a laptop, and I'm very happy with it...it's beautiful. But, I've had two problems with the display. First, there is some slight yellow discoloration on the right half, not a big deal, just my ocd, probably just some backlight bleed or something. But the big issue is that the screen brightness flickers constantly. I can only really notice it on the lower brightnesses, but I use those so its a problem. I've tried EVERYTHING. Tons of driver fiddling, power option fiddling. I cant tell if it flickers in the bios screen or lcd bist, but I've disabled both NVidia and intel HD graphics drivers and no matter what I do, it still flickers. This makes me think that this Is a hardware issue. If anyone has some insight, I would really appreciate it. Should I send it in for repair, or just wait a bit as I read online somewhere that the lcd backlight needs to "settle in" for it to stop flickering with takes a decent amount of screen on time. Sorry for the long post, but this is my first pc and I'm a little bit picky about the function of my things. Thanks.

I have recently experimented flickering in my screen. I purchased this laptop like a month ago.
Acording to some answers in here http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19590879?pi41097=1 , One recommendation is to turn off the Dell extended battery life. But on Windows10 I do not have that option...What i see is Dell Power Manager Lite.
It looks like on direct AC and battery fully charged I do not present the flickering. If I unplugged the AC cable and battery goes lower than 85% I start seeing the annoying flickering.

I bought the laptop mentioned in the title, the Inspiron 17 7559, a little under 3 months ago for school as well as some gaming.  A couple days before I spoke with tech support the cpu fan (fan on left side if you're looking at the top of the laptop and are in front of it) began making a horrible grinding/squealing noise.A little background: before going to school, I spent a decade as field technician on both military advanced electronic systems and production-class robotics systems.  So I opened the back panel just to glance at the fan, see if maybe there was a glaring physical abnormalities, as  the fan was clearly grinding on something and when it kicked into high would be scraping fast and hard enough to produce this noise.
I open the back cover, a screw falls out from its happy little home (which is, needless to say, both Not A Good Thing and Ominously Foreboding), followed by the shorn threading which had come from another screw.  Also, three or four  screws were VERY loose.  Which explained why the case had begun to separate near where the monitor pivots attach to the case.  Completely structural screws.  I tightened those up a bit, but didn't mess with any screws in the component housing area, as thos can have specific torque settings and such, and overtightening can do real damage.  As for the fan, its sitting a millimeter or so lower in its housing than the other, and even the slight spinning it did while I t... I have W10 on a new Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559. When I have a mouse or trackball connected, I would like to turn off the touchpad. Otherwise stray fingers from typing move the mouse around.
I went to the control panel and found an option that says "Leave Touchpad On When Mouse is Connected". If I turn that off, then the touch pad is disabled. But I'm using a wireless trackball. When I turn the trackball off, the touchpad doesn't start working. I have to remove the trackball's USB dongle before the touchpad starts working. Ideally, the touchpad would work whenever the trackball isn't working. But it's not that convenient.
On my old Dell laptop, there was a hotkey for enabling the trackpad. That would be ideal. I'd like to enable it quickly depending on whether I'm using the trackball or not. I can't find any hotkey on this laptop. And I can't even find a quick way to get to the control panel setting.
Any way to make this more functional? Possible solutions would be (in order of preference):1) Have the control panel setting work whenever the trackball is turned off or missing, even if the trackball dongle is still in the USB port.
2) Have a hot-key that could enable and disable the touchpad.
3) Create a shortcut directly to the relevant control panel page.

I am having an issue with certain games where they have sound, but no visual. Using NVIDIA control panel, I can force it to run on my integrated card, which it then runs extremely laggy because its running on the integrated card, VS the 960m.
I only have an issue with this on certain games, some run with absolutely no problem, games like CS:GO, Skyrim, Garry's Mod, and others work fine. But then games like GTA V, Overwatch, World of Warcraft(?), City's: Skylines, Faster Than Light, and more do not work at all if I run it on my NVIDIA card. I see no pattern to any of these games, its just random games work and others don't unless I run them on my integrated Intel GPU.
Let me add I sent my computer to Dell themselves, and they didn't even fix the issue. So I am completely out of options.

I have recently installed Windows 7 on my Inspiron 15 7000 - 7559. I managed to found most of the drivers and get the hardware working.
However for the Touchpad, I cannot find driver or software for it. Windows 7 just uses the default drivers PS/2 Compatible Mouse. When in the Dell drivers site, it does not have drivers for input devices.
It works fine as a regular touchpad but it does not have the additional function such as two finger scrolling etc. 
This is still fine to me until I realized that my palm will accidentally hit the touchpad when typing. Looking  at my older dell laptops, I saw that there is a palm rejection feature for the Dell touchpad.
Windows detect this trackpad as Atmel Maxtouch.
Can anyone please advise me were to find a compatible driver to solve this issue?
You help and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Windows does not boot (none, 7,8,8.1,10)

When I installed windows it automatically found a driver for both the nvidia 960m and intel hd 530.  I went to nvidia site and installed the latest drivers even though they warned it may cause instability. When  I realized things were going wrong with the screen tearing I immediately uninstalled and installed the correct video drivers from the website here.   However I am still having problems with screen tearing horizontally across the whole screen at least with videos playing through steam.  At the time of the screen tearing I did have my laptop connected to my 1080p tv via hdmi.  Any ideas?  Do I need to reinstall windows completely to get rid of the newest nvidia driver I installed?

I have a Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559.   It is 5 months old.  The left hinge started clicking and now everytime my computer opens the computer is starting to come apart.  I have the premium warrenty.  I have called 3 times today and talked to different people.  I have been disconnected 3 times with no one calling me back.  They say that the hinges are not covered under warrenty.  It hasn't been dropped or mistreated.   I have been a dell customer for over 15 years so i'm not sure  why they are giving me a hard time or not calling me back.    Also while gaming my fan is running super hot.    

Does anyone have any suggestions or a number I should call to get actual decent help.

Does the system overheat? Does it freeze or turn off automatically when its hot? What applications are you using when the fan issue is noticed? Is the fan noisy? Does it run with noise from the time the system is turned on? Are there any bluescreens / system crashes?
Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/2aV8Rib - restart the system and check the fan functionality.

The screen on my dell inspiron 7000 went blank. I connected an external monitor and it worked for a while and then it went blank too. The monitor was quite old however and I wondered if it died in the moment as well. Subsequently I reasoned that something could be wrong with the video card or motherboard, but how to check? I could buy another laptop but I have a desktop and I am intrigued to see if I can fix it. Any ideas?

Hi. I need help diagnosing this unit. I have worked with pc's before but never laptops. I have a dell inspiron 7000 that someone gave my husband because it has this problem. We have been able to use it and the problem had been very intermittant, but now it is becoming quite frequent. The screen will just go black, or sometimes just very dim/dark. Sometimes pusihing the switch that turns the screen off when you close the notebook would make it come back, sometimes not. Sometimes he was able to kind of flex the plastic at the middle of the back of the screen and it would pop off and on as he flexed it. It almost seems like a intermittant connection.

I have not opened it up yet myself, but hubby did 1x and it seemed to work fine for a while after but then the problem came back (he didn't find anything noteable).

If I hook up a external monitor the monitor works all the time even when the screen is out.

How do I tell if the problem is the screen itself (and where do I find a reasonably priced replacement?) or if maybe it's just a bad connection somewhere that I may be able to fix. When he was flexing the case I thought maybe there might just be a bad ground or something causing this problem. Anyhow, any ideas would be welcomed, I appreciate your time in reading this and hope you all have some ideas for me. Thank you.

Couple of reasons for this

1/ The ribbon cable to the board is only a friction fit so it is not pushed in correctly.

Solution find the ribbon cable from the monitor and re-seat it.

the other problem is a replacement part for the monitor and usually replacing the whole monitor is a better solution.

As the picture is fine on another monitor then it the monitor on the laptop for sure.

I would find that cable to the screen and re-seat it as it is intermitant a bad connection is the problem.

Hello, I purchased this touch laptop months ago and it has barely been used or even mobile. I have had an issue with the screen flickering for quite some time, it came out of nowhere prompting me to use the laptop less. 
The screen does NOT have an issue with flickering and brightness. The screen flickers EVERY time I move/touch the monitor at all. Sometimes when I move the entire laptop. Please give advice on what I should do as I don't have a ton of $$ to go anywhere to get it fixed and I bought the laptop in brand new condition from Craigslist so there is not a warranty.

Background
I received my Inspiron 15 7000 (7559) gaming edition yesterday. Brand new from Dell.ca, with 4k touch screen and dual HDD & SSD.

Problem
There is a faint, but noticeable and annoying high-pitch buzzing sound coming from near the center of the keyboard. This happens as soon as I use any audio after I boot. 
When I mute my speakers, the high-pitch stops and is replaced by a much less noticeable low-pitch buzz. 
The high-pitch buzzing volume is the same, regardless if my volume is at 2 or 100. 
Headphones plugged in, there is no buzzing from the earbuds, but still a low-pitch buzz from the laptop.
It sounds like as if the speakers were turned up all the way so there's high- or low- pitched static.
Edit: I'm unsure if it still buzzes when video/music is playing.

Remarks
I am considering re-installing the audio driver, and I will also call support in the coming days.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7568 laptop that is less than a week old. I also purchased a Dell HDMI to VGA adapter so that I can use an external monitor with a VGA input as a 2nd screen. 
Whenever I connect to the external monitor my laptop screen, not my external monitor screen, flickers a couple of times a minute. I have checked all the connections of the adapter and VGA port and they seem fine. It appears there is a problem that is encountered when I plug in the external monitor that causes the laptop screen to flicker occasionally. 
If anyone has any suggestions to fix this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Around once a month, my laptop's keyboard will randomly stop working out of nowhere. It doesn't matter if I am playing a game or just simply browsing Google Chrome. At the same time, the power button stops responding as well. The only way for me to turn off my laptop is to open up the panel under the laptop and pull the battery cable out. After replugging in the battery cable and rebooting, my laptop goes back to normal until a month later when one of these random freezes happens again.
I've tried factory resets and system restores but nothing has solved this problem. I was thinking that the root of the problem being with the actual keyboard's hardware but I am hesitant to open up my laptop unless I'm absolutely sure of the cause.
If anybody has also experienced this issue or has any suggestions, they are greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
I have a brand new (2 days old) Inspiron 15 7559. Today I went to turn it on, and it refused to power up. The backlit keyboard came on, and I noticed that the front LED would come on, then after awhile it would start blinking orange. 
I've tried it without the battery, just on AC mains; and just on the battery and the result is the same. 
I tried looking around for some information but haven't found much related to my issue. Any suggestions or easy fixes? Or is it something that needs to taken into Dell?

This is a recent problem I ran into with my new 7559. About a week ago I did a factory reset because the speakers were having a problem, and it worked fine for a couple days. Afterwards it would go into this flickering loop after it would wake up from sleep. This makes it so anytime I'm not using the laptop I basically have to shut it down, which really ***. I've posted a link of what the issue looks like. I ran the dell hardware test and my computer passed, and I also updated my drivers so I don't know what else to do. Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on what's happening.

The keyboard on my new Windows 10 Dell laptop stopped working completely so I tried shutting down. Windows seems to have shut down but the computer won't turn off (the keyboard backlights are still on and the fans are going). Pressing and holding down the power button (even for over a minute) does nothing, I can't pull the battery as it's inbuilt.
Is there anything I can do other than waiting for the battery to run itself out? And what if it doesn't turn on again after that?

Hi,I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series laptop around about November time last year, and after a BIOS update a couple months ago or so it now will randomly go to a black screen, but the backlight is still on. The BIOS update being near the time that this began to happen may be a coincidence, but it was the only real change during this period.On this black screen, I have no cursor and none of the buttons on my keyboard do anything. The only solution I've found is to hold in the power button to shut the whole system down. 
There doesn't seem to be a particular pattern as to when this problem occurs, it will just randomly go black.
This has happened around about 6/7 times in the past few months. All the events did occur late at night though (past midnight). However, this could just be because I usually sit on my laptop longer at night time, and therefore that increases the chances of it happening.
Due to many "Black Screen Crashing" problems with Windows 10 - that aren't the same as my problem - a google search did not help.

Try system diagnostics to see if it finds any problem in the components:

Press F12 after power on
Select diagnostics.

You can also check Windows Event Viewer for any error message that was logged when the black screen crash happened.

Hi I was installing Windows 10 home on Dell Inspiron 15r 7000 7537 it got to around 80%, I looked down at my phone, looked up and then it was just a black screen...
I left it for around 3 hours and it hasn't progressed at all, its not responsive, there's no mouse cursur on screen and it doesn't respond to anything...
Any tips? I've downloaded windows 10 onto a USB incase it can help.
At the moment it seems pretty bricked...

After about another hour I was advised by someone to force power off as Dell laptops apparently sometimes hang during installation forever and Win 10 can retrieve installations.It booted past the Dell logo and said "Retrieving installation" and back to black screen...
I tried again and it just gave up and retrieved the Windows 8.1 installation that it backed up.
May try again later.

Hi, I can't seem to get anything higher than 1920x1080 in the list of available resolution options when I connect my Dell U2713HM monitor to my Dell Inspiron 15 laptop. I've run this monitor at 2560x1440 on another laptop over HDMI in the past but that was with Windows 8. The Intel HD Graphics 530 Control Panel doesn't offer any resolutions above 1920x1080 for the external monitor and adding custom resolutions results in the error "the custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity". I'm using the same high speed HDMI cable that worked at 2560x1440 with this monitor on my previous laptop. I'm fully up to date on all of the drivers for the laptop.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not sure what else to try. Could this be a Windows 10 issue? Should I try the standard Intel HD Graphics 530 drivers from the Intel website?

The hardware on the system supports the 2560x1440. It should be a software issue. I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the video card driver from Dell website as these drivers are tested on the Dell system. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the video card.

Press the Windows key and Start typing devmgmt.msc and then press enter.
Select the Display adapters listed and right click on it.
Now select properties.
In the properties window, under Driver tab, click on Uninstall button.
Check “Delete the driver software for this device.”
You want to delete the driver click OK.

After the uninstall finishes restart the system. Then reinstall the Intel video card driver for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the video card drivers from Video section onto the system and install it.

Hi, i have an Inspiron 15 7559. Last week my battery  was damaged and can't use it anymore, since then I have low fps while gaming (gta v, witcher 3, etc.), I've read there is a kind of throttling when there is no battery, maybe the turbo boost is not being enabled.
Is there a way I can make the laptop work again like before, I can't buy a new battery yet because I live in Peru and is hard to find this battery model.

Hi All, I recently got a Dell Inspiron 7559. It came with a 8GB Skhynix "hmt41gs6bfr8a-pb no aa 1506" RAM stick. I'd like to upgrade it to 16GB. I thought I had bought the same 8GB RAM model from ebay, but I had received an 8 GB Skhynix "hmt41gs6bfr8a-pb na aa 1511". Are they two completely different models because of their different nomenclature? Can I still use it to upgrade my ram? Thank you

There's only one memory socket on this model, so an 8G isn't going to get you an upgrade.  You need a 16G module to upgrade.

Just got my computer back from Dell tech support having sent it because of an issue with no audio output device installed and the red x on the toolbar. The computer is in the exact same state as before I sent it with nothing fixed. I've tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times, checked if audio services were running and all of that. Feels like a huge waste of money at this point and is especially disappointing because this computer was actually a gift for someone. Has anyone had this issue with this computer and have it resolved without resorting to an external usb sound driver?

You can diagnose this by performing a system recovery (reset the laptop back to the original factory configuration.) If there is still no audio immediately after recovery, before getting on the internet, then the audio hardware has failed and Dell will have to fix it under the terms of the warranty. In other words they could not say it is a software issue and therefore not covered.
If the recovery does fix it, but the problems recurs after getting on the internet, then probably some Windows Updates-related issue.

Hi All,I have an Inspiron 15 7000 series (7559) to be exact.Core i7 processor,4 GB RAM,GTX 960M and 1 TB HDD.I have been trying to play GTA V,The Witcher 3 and a few other games but none of them work properly there is so much lag.I have reinstalled windows all NVIDIA drivers and everything is up to date.While playing the game GTA V in this case when it lags my DISK is at 100% in the task manager could that be the issue.I have been so disappointed with this laptop till now.Can anyone please help me with this issue.

Hi,
I opened my new Inspiron 7559 today, after updating all the drivers including the NVIDIA one, so I installed league of legends, upon playing the first game, I noticed my FPS was around 130 and would cap around there, I found this odd as the laptop I had returned before this was an older model by Dell and it ran the game completely fine at 215 FPS another thing I noticed is the game would freeze randomly, overall it feels like my laptop isn't keeping up even though it has really good specs, what is the possible issue?

I use it for work, mainly translation tools, and also for some ocasional gaming (Witcher 3, Cities skylines, etc.).
So I was thinking on maybe upgrading it a bit, but as I´m on a budget I can only afford upgrading the ram up to 16GB or to buy an SSD of 250GB, what would you suggest to upgrade?, which of both would have more impact on the performance?.

I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 laptop about a week or so ago and several days later realised some odd USB transfer behaviour. Tried all 3 different usb3.0 ports, same problem.
(Bios was updated immediately after cloning hdd to m.2 ssd and all drivers updated.)
(I swapped the 1TB hybrid drive with a Samsung 850EVO and installed an m.2 Samsung 850EVO) (OS and most files on the m.2 drive)
External hard disk: Transfer of large sizes or even a single large file (GoPro video near 4gb) occurred rather erratically (fluctuating between 90+ and 40+ mb/s) and eventually reaching 0mb/s and pausing there for quite awhile before transferring again at fluctuating speeds, sometimes reaching 0 and pausing again. File transfer completes eventually, but after a ridiculously long time.
The same hard disk works fine with my desktop (writes at a steady 90+mb/s)

External ssd: transfers for awhile before reaching 0 and giving an error code. (works fine with my desktop) (error code: 0x8000745D)

Thumb drive: writes fine at 90-100+mb/s, just like my desktop.  
Notes: File transfer problems mentioned above were from both the m.2 drive and 2.5mm drive, internal transfer from the m.2 to the 2.5mm Samsung 850EVO ran fine. Samsung Magician installed, problems persist with RAPID either enabled or disabled.
 
Solutions I've tried but have not made a difference:
Chkdsk /f /r
Booting into safe mode (transfer problems existed even in safe mode)
Uninstalling and reinstalling usb drivers

I have brand new a Dell Inspiron 7559 (Core i5 model) which i received 2 days ago.  The inbuilt speakers work fine. But when I plug in my earphones, the is sound only on the left side and a very faint sound on the right one. When I check the left and right sound in the sound properties, both the test sounds appear on the left side only. The earphones I am using are Klipsch R6. And here are no issues with the earphones since they work perfectly with my phone and other Dell Inspiron laptop.

I have bought this laptop about 2 months ago. Since i bought it, I have noticed that it's performance is not what i should expect.
I mean, i can be in Google Chrome viewing a page, and in the moment i scroll using my mouse, the laptop like freezes for a milisecond and then continues. Same happens when playing videogames, i can be playing at low/ultra details, 60+ frames per second, but every now and then i get a frame drop and then it goes back to where it was before, it's super annoying and shouldn't be happening.
I always thought it was something with the game, that it was not well optimised but it seems to be the computer.
Things i have done:
1. I reinstalled Windows 10 using the software provided by Microsoft.
2. All my drivers are up to date
What could it be? my laptop specs are:
6th Generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz)]NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR58GB Single Channel DDR3L 1600MHz (8GBx1)1TB (5400rpm) Hybrid HDD with 8GB Flash
All these things occur with the laptop plugged or not, it doesn't matter. Gaming, i have used Balanced and High Performance battery mode but i don't see any difference. This has happened to me for example in CS:GO, LoL, World of Warships, etc.

When you are saying that it is stuttering, does it do this all the time or is it something that will be working and then you get a quick stutter and then things return to normal?  If this is happening, it's most likely just a point in time where the files that the processor needs to access files haven't been loaded into RAM yet.  Your processor then has to wait for the HDD to load the file and continue on from there.  Does Google Chrome do this all the time?  Again, when it first boots or if there is something that computer has to load on the webpage such as Flash or anything like that, it can cause a temporary delay in the time that it is loading.  If it's doing it constantly then it might be something to look at, but once in awhile, it's not uncommon for this to happen during loading.  5400RPM is slowest speeds for HDD and it can cause your computer to have to wait for loading here and there.

Hey everyone,
I was using my Dell Inspiron 7559 this weekend and suddenly the audio from my headphones quit. I had no problems in the first month I had the laptop, and the audio from the speakers still works fine. When I plug in the headphones the dialog box also doesn't show asking me about the audio device connected to the port. I know the headphones work on my phone, and I've tried deinstalling the Realtek audio driver and using the native driver. Nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm grateful for any help!

so the next part is the Kicker Dell did a number on their Bios and rather than using standard logic as we have done so many years just setting the boot order to "Boot USB" first, you "Only" have the option to create a "Boot Program"!!! so you select your USB Drive then which ever file you want it to boot I'm Assuming? So I tried selecting Setup, bootmgr.efi, and autorun with no results!

I get the secured boot error crap, turn that off and I get Legacy BIOS (that defeats the entire point) What the hell happened to Win95 Boot Discs and FDISK?

I am so frustrated with this garbage, I found out the hard way with Windows 10 and trying to nuke the SSD and put a clean install of 8.1 on it.

Any directions especially concerning Dell's wonderful BIOS would be appreciated!

Hello,Got the Dell Inspiron 15-7559Standard with 100 gb 2,5 inch HDD.Inserted a Kingston 2.5 inch HDD, works fine.Now days later I also inserted a M.2. Sata SSD. Both Disks work.But when selectign legacy boot and first selecting the second HDD it does not boot up the 2nd HDD. It gives an error message saying boot.msgr is missing.Tried :- Legacy mode, Secure mode on and off- Turning back to Uefi mode with secure mode on and off- Legacy mode and all kidns or boot orders.When I press F12 at startup and go to boot selection and select 2nd HDD, there is no problem, it boots up my 2.5 inch ssd no problem.Now I installed windows also on my M.2. Sata SSD and this one boots up fine in legacy mode. No issues at all. But also now when setting 2nd HDD first it still boots up the m.2. And once again manually selecting the 2nd HDD at startup works fine.I would like to use the 2.5inch ssd as boot device and the M.2. sata as storage.I have my reasons for this lol. :) Can anybody supply me with some advice/help?Thanks in advance!

Hello, I'm having a small problem with my new Dell laptop.
I can't find the option where I could set my keyboard backlight to stay on constantly. It keeps falling asleep (turning off) after a short period of time. I have just bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 and it just arrived this morning. However, when I try to play any sound the speaker starts to crackle heavily. The only solution that works is plugging in headphones and unplugging them which seems to work. But once you shut down the computer, and turn it back on, this problem still exists. I have already updated the realtek hd audio driver as well as the bios. I would hate to have to return the laptop as it works flawlessly otherwise.

I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 7559 a month ago. The first week it was amazing with no problems at all. 
Then when I was working on it, left it plugged in and left is for a while, then came back to it after 1 hour or so, I noticed that the battery was discharging. 
Did not mind it until it went to "plugged in, charging" 0% and it shut off completely. 
I tried to turn it on several times and it did not turn on. 
Called Dell service center and advised to remove the battery. I cannot remove the battery completely because of the screw type but managed to remove the cables. 
I turn it back on and it worked again. But after a few days the probem kept recurring. 
Its going like "plugged in, charging" but it is not charging. Or "1 hour 05minutes to full charge" but after an hour it will be "1 hour 40minutes to full charge". I mean what gives. 
Have done all that was advised in the internet but not hing is working. 
I have done restart task manager, uninstall API, and all that, but the problem is recurring.
BIOS was updated recently also. So is it hardware of software. 
Please help for anymore ideas?
Its brand new, it rocks when it is working, but I dont have the patience to kept on checking for hte battery status. It is getting annoying also.

Are you using an original Dell OEM Adapter? When you plug in the adapter to the system, does the adapter stay firm or does it fall off easily? Is the adapter frayed? Is there any damage on the system? Could you test with another power adapter if possible? 
Restart the system and press f2 key to enter BIOS - check the adapter status in BIOS with and without the adapter plugged in. Also, wiggle the adapter cable at the end and see if the status changes in BIOS at any point. Check the battery health in BIOS (if applicable).
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.

My 7559 laptop is still relatively new but I feel like ever since an update in June it's been acting strange. It froze for no reason and wouldn't shut off when I held the power button. I had to unplug it and let the battery die. When I restarted everything was fine so I ran McAfee got nothing and moved on.
That said, ever since it can't seem to handle sleep mode as well as it use too. I was able to leave it on for a few weeks at a time and now I feel like I have to turn it off daily or it's Memory goes up. It's also frozen once since the initial freeze but that time it actually let me hold the power to turn it off. 
I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one experiencing this. I think it's the update that caused it, but I don't really have any proof other than McAfee hasn't found anything. I've been keeping the task manager up to keep an eye out but the only things that are noticeable are System and Compressed memory and McAfee. Well those and Chrome but chrome's always been a hog. 
I can deal with it for now, but I'm hoping there will be an update or something to fix it. I'm really just posting to see if anyone else has experienced this or something similar.

There is no need to wait until the battery runs down to turn off a frozen laptop nowadays. Simply hold down the power button until it shuts off. It will take 30-40 seconds.
You can uninstall updates if you think there is a bad update. Open Settings, Update, Advanced Options, View update History, Uninstall updates. Not all updates can be uninstalled but some can. You should also check the Event Viewer for clues as to what might be hanging up the computer.

Hello,
I got this laptop recently and ran into an issue when connecting to external displays, in all games I am unable to set my video settings to 60Hz when choosing to project my display to the external screen only. If I duplicate the screen then I have no issue, but I want to be able to close the laptop lid and have 60Hz as an option, otherwise everything shows up as 59Hz which causes stuttering and flickering. The weird thing is that in Windows my refresh rate shows up as 60Hz at 1920x1080 but when launching any game 59Hz is the highest I can go to when set to display as "second screen only" in Windows 10. Please let me know what I could to fix this, and if it is not clear let me know.

Recently I bought the Dell Inspiron 7559 (gaming one).
It has the option to add a SSD drive. I bought a m.2 SSD 256gb drive from Plextor.
See link for the version. The BIOS and Windows both don't recognize the SSD.
I have put it in and out several times. Updated BIOS / Resetted BIOS. It just won't recognize it.
Do I have to tweak any settings in BIOS for the SSD slot to "activate"?
I thought this was a plug and play thing. How can I get this to work?
Note: I also have my HDD still plugged cuz it has everything on it (windows etc).
I want to convert windows to the SSD if it CONNECTS EVER.

Guys I messed up real bad... I saved up money for a year to buy this laptop and finally yesterday ordered it in ebay, and afterwards going through the details I noticed it didn't say that it had the gtx 960m video card but rather intel HD graphics built in. In your case, Dell Inspiron 15 7559 was an "Manufacture Refurbished" of returned Inspiron 15 to the factory according to the description.
Thus, read carefully next time, as refurbished are likely "tested" to function as intended. From the page on Ebay you have brought, it might have been a bad buy, so you got rip off for the wrong product if you did not get your refund. Ebay in my view is not too safe, it more of a trade market  versus places where you can buys computer officially. Thus this problem is between you and the seller.

Hi All,
My problem is ... no, not quite so, my PROBLEM is Windows 10 Anniversary Update gets downloaded, installed and failed again and again. When it goes through Windows Update Center everything goes well but finally after a reboot I get a notification that the system couldn't install the update. No other information or error codes provided. After that Windows Update Center finds the same Anniversary Update and everything goes in circle. I called Microsoft Support three times with different engineers but with the same final result - the problem still unsolved. I used MediaCreationTool utility as well. With this utility the whole process goes well but finally I get popup window that says "Error occurred while installing update". When I tried to reinstall Windows 10 from the image created by MediaCreationTool I got error code 0xd0000034 (finally!!! something I can use to find a solution !!!), but looking through the Internet for this code didn't help to resolve this. Any other updates are installed with no issues. The Problem only with Anniversary Update.

While playing CS:GO, my laptop froze and won't shutdown with holding down the power button, had to open up the back panel and pull the battery connector to shut it down. This is the first time it happened, had the laptop since Feb.
Is it related to cpu temperature management? Ambient temperature in my room is kinda high lately would peak to 87 degrees C using HWMonitor from 80 normally.
Any feedback/replies to this post is pretty much appreciated! Just want to know what to avoid to keep it from happening again.

Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased the Dell Inspiron 15 7000(7559) http://www.dell.com/ca/p/inspiron-15-7559-laptop/pd?oc=ni157559_ft_h5715e&model_id=inspiron-15-7559-laptop and would like to connect it to my 4K TV at 60HZ refresh rate. I already have it successfully connected to my 4K TV(which supports 60HZ refresh rate) but it is only displaying at 30HZ fresh rate via HDMI slot provided on the laptop. I'm using a HDMI 2.0 cable which supports 60HZ refresh rate however the HDMI slot which is built into the laptop is HMDI 1.4A slot supporting up to 30HZ only (I concluded this from general research on the internet).
There are no display port slots built into the laptop but there is USB 3.0. So basically, is there anyway to get the output to be 60HZ with the pre-existing slots on the laptop like using USB 3.0, display port or the Dell docking station. I am not opposed to using an display adapter either like the Dell Docking Station – USB 3.0 (D3100) which has a display port slot built into it but it only supports 30HZ not the desired 60HZ.  
We also can see from the official intel link below that the intel process in the laptop does support 4K resolution at 60 HZ via display port so its just a matter of achieving it. http://ark.intel.com/products/88959/Intel-Core-i5-6300HQ-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz 

experience to get the 60HZ refresh rate on a 4K TV with the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 or a similar Dell model like the Alienware laptops.

I need to replace my inspiron 7000 keyboard, I need help. Does anyone have directions on how to do this, I have the keyboard.

Keyboard removal procedure.

1. Turn the computer over and remove the four screws from the bottom of the computer.

2. Turn the computer back over and open the display.

3. Insert a small flat-blade screwdriver along the right top of the keyboard, just above the row of function keys. Working from right to left, free the keyboard by prying it toward the front of the unit. When free, lift the top of the keyboard slightly to clear the palmrest assembly.

4. Slide the keyboard towards the display assembly to release the front edge of the keyboard from the palmrest assembly.

5. Rotate the bottom of the keyboard up toward the display assembly to expose the keyboard cable.

6. Disconnect the keyboard cable from the ZIF connector on the system board. Gently pry up the latches on each side of the connector.

That should do it. Becarefull not to bump the keys tops on the replacement keyboard as they usually are a pain to get back on.

Just installed a 40GB HDD into a laptop and want to install Windows XP PRO on it. When I boot up with the XP CD in I keep getting the error:

CDBOOT: Couldn't find NTLDR

What do I do? This is an authentic XP cd. NOT a pirated version.

It could be a BIOS/CMOS problem. You may need a BIOS update before installing XP and you may want to try resetting your BIOS settings to the defaults. XP with ACPI take control of the hardware so having an updated BIOS is important.

I am not very familiar with computers so bear with me.

I bought a used Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop that is not supposed to be working. The person I bought it from stated that it's supposed to have Windows 98, a 6.4 GB hard drive, and 192 MB of memory, and the description was that when turned on, the screen shows the Windows 98 startup logo, then does not go any further from there.

Upon receiving the laptop, however, when I turn it on it only displays the Dell logo at first, then goes into this set up where it is a black screen with the following information:

Here's an update.

I've been playing around on this laptop and when I ejected the DVD drive (I inserted a Dell Recovery CD for a Latitude CPi), it proceeded to add the following lines to the screen mentioned above:

Then it proceeded to display the Windows 98 logo (as described by the person I bought it from), accompanied by a fast, non-stop beeping sound. after about 5 minutes of this, it started displaying a black screen again with stuff that's too fast for me to read, then it's asking for me to select an option as to what mode I want it to start on. "Safe mode" is highlighted but the keyboard does not seem to be responding, and I could not go any further. Any thoughts?

A few days back a thick pink band started appearing on my dell lcd. This caused my pictures to appear bad, but i was still using the laptop. A few days later the laptop screen started displaying poor artifacts, flickering and blanked out after a while. All through when connected to an external montor the display was perfect.

Today i replaced the LCD, inverter and video cable with those i pulled from another working inspiron e1505 (my friend's).

While the pink band is gone on my e1505, the poor display artifact, flicker and blanking out continues.
When i boot up the Dell logo will appear some times and the display will flicker all the way till i land on the page where i select the log in user. Once i select the user and land on the desktop and after a while the screen will blank out. All through the picture i seen on the lcd is of poor quality.

The display is perfect on external monitor even now.

Here are some details about my laptop.

Windows 7 Home Premum -Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600 (about a year back upgraded from xp professsional)

Hi all I recently got the i7 version of this laptop and noticed that the speakers rattle a bit when vocals are being played and the headphone jack makes everything sound like it has REVERB added to it...??? It sounds like I'm in a chamber. I updated everything, anything I can do or no?

My 6 month old Dell Inspiron 7559 has starting coming apart from around the left side hinge. The keyboard plate is being separated from the bottom chassis and can see inside. Dell support say its damage or wear and tear. Really!. The laptop has been at home and not moved beyond 5 feet for the last 6 months. There is NO damage and even a microscopic inspection will not reveal any damage. Wonder how UK support brushed me off even after sending photos and saying not covered by warranty. Had been a Dell customer for last 12 years and this is my 4th Dell and definitely the last one. Cannot stand a company like this

I own a Dell Inspiron 7000 PII processor. There is something clearly wrong with the motherboard and I need to replace it. Since I just got a new computer I'm interested in doing this my self. However, I have never done this type of work on a computer. Is there any place I can go to get a manual to repairing/replacing the motherboard? Is there any soddering involved for this type of laptop (it seems like most parts are snapped/clipped or scewed in)? any info/insight would be helpful.

My Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop will just die on me, even if I am actively engaged in a program or even while I am typing in a text-based program. The screen will go black, and no key can get a response, although the green power light stays on. Often, I will have to push and hold the power button until it goes OFF, then re-start the laptop - with the resultant Scan Disk each time.

Occasionally, after such a shut-down, the computer will not re-start until numerous attempts are made.

I have called tech service numerous times and even sent the unit in twice - to no avail. The last time, Dell updated my BIOS, but the problem persists.

If you know of a solution, please help!

Update drivers in red. Uninstall Western Digital software you have installed. I see that SonicWALL Virtual NIC is disabled. Have you done that on purpose? if so, why?

When I try and start my Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop it won't boot up???
I just finished installing Windows XP. Now when I try and start it, it won't boot up. You can hear it spin up. It tries over and over but won't ever boot. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ultimate problem: Inspiron 7000 AC adaptor does not charge the battery, and unable to run off just the AC - also have a port replicator, but no different results. Suspected cause: Unintentionally, a foreign DC adaptor plug was inserted into the Dell Inspiron 7000. After that, the system still ran just fine (which I think rules out a motherboard problem). In retrospect, I realize that the system was running on the battery. Once the battery died, the laptop will not power on. When the power switch is activated, I hear the fan come on, and the indicator lights come on, but it just beeps and then shuts down. I followed all the instructions in the Dell Knowledge base - took off all items - drives, memory, etc. Electrical test on adaptor is OK. Dell support just keeps telling me to buy a new adaptor. It sounds like there must be some type of over voltage relay inside the laptop that is switched off. Is there anything I can do, or do I have a new boat anchor?

Hey all!
I seem to have gotten a miniscule amount of blue ink on the cover of my black Dell laptop - the cover is matte and smooth, and I've tried a rubbing it with a bit of warm water and also tried hair spray. It hasn't budged! Does anyone have any suggestions? I might head over to Best Buy with my computer and see what they would suggest. Thanks!

So, this happened a long  time ago but when ever I try to turn my computer on it wont start up, but when I plug it in there's a weird buzzing noise you can hear it if you put your head near the laptops keyboard and also if you put your head near the bottom of the laptop and there is also no display when plugged in. I really need a solution without buying a new laptop.

I have the Dell Inspiron 7559 (non-touch) and was able to install the Windows 10 Anniversary Update today after a long session of sitting though Windows Updates. Everything seemed to work fine, except that I had to uninstall my antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection). No biggie, I'll just reinstall it after the update. I think it also said that the Intel WiDi drivers had to be uninstalled as well, which it did automatically, but that was all that happened during that process.
So I attempt to do so, and I was able to install it via the .msi file (the .exe file wouldn't work for some reason), and the computer begins to reboot. Constantly. The laptop would freeze somewhere from when the login screen appears to a couple minutes after that. It would hang for a couple minutes, then reboot. It rebooted enough times for it to go to the Windows 10 recovery options. I just told it to restart so that I could tell it to boot into safe mode on the next bootup (shift-click restart when I got inside Windows). It works, and I then tell it to boot into safe mode.
Now my laptop won't boot at all. It won't go past the Dell logo. I can enter the BIOS and the boot options menu, as well as load the ePSA diagnostics tool and have the tests pass (no errors). But it won't get past the Dell logo after this. It doesn't restart, flash lights or anything like that. Just hangs on the Dell logo.
How can I resolve this issue?

Is there a "driver or ICM file" for the screen? Shows up in my device manager as generic pnp.
I know the screen is an LG Philips [Unknown Model: LGD04D9] 156UD2  [DELL P/N: 53FC4] according to HWinfo64.
I would like to have the correct info for the screen as I use it for photography and the colour reproduction is important.

I updated my Dell Inspiron 15 7000 7548 to windows 10 only to be brought into a catastrophic error. Based on my research this may work for other laptops but I can only say I used and tested it on my Dell.

 The problem is that during the Windows 10 installation, the computer installs the wrong graphics card driver. It installs the AMD Radeon R7 M265 driver instead of the M270.
Here are the steps to fix the issue.
1. As soon as the computer boots up, login, and then hit the Windows Key button and the X,
2. Go to "Device Manager"
3. Scroll to "Display Adapters / AMD Radeon R7 M265 / Driver/ Disable". This will stop the computer from rebooting.
4. To install the correct graphics driver, just hit "Update Driver" and have it "Search Automatically" for it.

Hi dear,

I had Dell Core i7 Inspiron 15 7000 7537 for last 2 years and it was working perfectly fine. Recently about a month ago I upgraded my windows from 8.1 to 10 and it was working fine. Since yesterday it went into an error and got stuck on blue screen of death. When i restarted it started showing me blank blue screen so I have to restart multiple times and some times it was taking me to windows but most of the times was getting stuck on blue blank screen.
So I thought may be a restore will work but when i tried restoring to previous windows now when it starts it gets stuck on Dell bootup screen and keeps on saying Welcome and loading image and then restarts and keeps on getting restart for ever.
I have checked System Assessment and it shows no errors found. I tried to boot from USB but no luck and still stuck on restarting.
Now I believe my previous windows has been removed and i can't install other windows at all.
Please help me.

Ive recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 laptop and installed windows 7 x64.I've installed all the drivers from the Dell website that matched my model, however i still have issues with the touchpad. I'm able to right/left click but not scroll. I tried downloading the alps and synaptics drivers for touchpad and restarted the pc without any help.
Anyone experienced issues like this and found a solution?

Hey everyone! I'm new to the Dell support community; this is my first laptop and I love it:

I've been using the laptop for college, and I usually just put my laptop right on the desks. Lately, I've noticed that one of the bottom rubber "feet" has been sliding away from its usual spot and has left things messy because of all the glue; any suggestions on how to get it to stay? Are there any safe adhesives for laptops? I contacted Premium Support and they didn't have any replacements for the rubber (and I didn't want to get a replacement for the whole bottom half of the computer!)

I'm facing a peculiar issue with my Dell Inspiron 7560 laptop. When I start the laptop without the charger plugged in and press the power button, the laptop starts normally. However when I plug in the charger and then try to start the laptop by pressing the power button, the laptop simply won't start.It starts fine when the charger is not plugged in but when the charger is Connected , it won't start.
I have checked the charger and the same works fine after starting the laptop. The charger also passed the tests in pre boot diagnostics. I tried connecting from different wall outlets, still won't work.
The laptop is only a week old and this is the first time I'm seeing such an issue . I have also tried the "wake on AC charger " option in BIOS. So the laptop starts when i simply plug in the charger and the power button is no required .
So is it some issue with the charger or the motherboard or could be some loose connection inside the laptop. Kindly help if someone else experienced similar problems.
