Lenovo Y560 - can't turn on Wifi!

Q: Lenovo Y560 - can't turn on Wifi!

My Laptop's been fine for 2 years...when I'm on battery, I switch the wifi off via the switch on the laptop. However, all of a sudden, the Wifi won't turn on again! The switch isn't broken (I've moved it back and forth), and I've tried the software switch ( Fn+F5), but that doesn't work either! I dual boot Windows 8+7, and neither OS has wifi on. I've also tried uninstalling drivers/disabling the adapter via Device Manager, but no luck! I also went into the BIOS, disabled the adapter through there, launched Windows 8, then rebooted and reenabed the Wifi, and that didn't work either =(.EDIT: Windows troubleshooting says "Turn on wireless capability: Use the switch on the front or side of the comptuer, or function keys if available, to enable wireless capability on this computer".My warranty ended over a year ago!Paying to send in the laptop for this would suck. Help!

Try reinstalling the wifi drivers and the energy managment softwares. Just to confirm that is the wifi card showing in device manager.

Hi,

I installed Win 7 32 bit on my Lenovo G510 laptop and then installed all the drivers. Now I want to use my wireless Internet but can't find the way I can turn on the wireless on that laptop!!
I tried Fn+F5 and also F5 but it's still turned off. It says, "Wireless capability is turned off".

"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in Power Management is unchecked.

How to turn on wireless in that laptop please?

A:Lenovo Ideapad Y560 upgrading RAM

Hi hyperxd ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Based on the product RAM specification :
4GB or 8GB std / 8GB max7 ; PC3-up to 1333MHz DDR3, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets

Recommended RAM upgrade as per hardware manual FRU listing for 4GB (page 85) :
13 DDRIII 1333 4GB, SAM M471B5273CH0-CH9 DDR3 1333 4GB  Part number : 11011934 13 DDRIII 1333 4GB, HMT351S6AFR8C-H9 N0 ((Rev Orion /2Gb/54nm)) Part number : 1101151313 DDRIII 1333 4GB, ELP EBJ41UF8BAS0-DJ-F DDR3 1066 4GB Part number : 11011867

Do you have the same specification as indicated above?
Would that be the same issue when it is on the lower slot 0 ?

Note: If only one DIMM is used on the computer you are servicing, the card must be installed in SLOT-0 ( a : lower slot), but not in SLOT-1 ( b : upper slot) (page 41).

Update us how it goes.

A:Lenovo Y560 Internet not working

you connected wirelessly or wired?

maybe that the hub just needs a reboot.

go to open network and sharing centre / select your connections and check your activity. If the sent bytes value is increasing but the received value is static then it maybe a case that no data is being received to the laptop hence no internet.

Run via battery (adapter disconnected)iii.) Run after removing RAM 2x2GB(tried interchanging the slots)Came across an article, where similar issue was tackled by re-applying thermal paste (between heatsink and processor). So, have ordered for the same. While I wait, wanted to check if there are there any other checks which can identify the problem ? Any fixes without HW change ?Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

Good morning everybody,

I have bought my laptop 1 year ago and everything was going ok, i installed many programs (Adobe illustrator) and games (PES2011) and many others and i faced no problems.
One day, my cousin used the laptop to watch a new movie but he forgot to charge the battery during that time until the laptop shuts down alone due to empty battery.
On the next day, i tried to power on my laptop it starts normally until it reached the Windows 7 logo it automatically shuts down. I tried again for several times with the same result then a blue screen with white writings on it was displayed on the screen (harddisk failure).
I bought a new Toshiba 500GB HDD and burned a new Windows 7 Ultimate x64 DVD to install a fresh new copy of it but i have faced the following:
1- when I power on the laptop it works normally.
2- I press F12 to choose the device to boot from (Boot from DVD)
3- It starts normally and a windows 7 screen appears with a loading bar. It is filled quickly in the first time then a new screen appears with a loading bar starts to fill but after around 75% of the loading bar is filled the laptop shuts down.
I tried to restart it for several times with the same result.

I make the following points to try to restart the laptop but always with the same result:
1- Remove the new HDD and then insert it
2- Remove the Rams and then insert them
3- Remove the battery and then insert it.

- Are you replacing the original laptop hard drive with the new Toshiba or is the Toshiba an external USB hard drive?
- Are you trying to clean install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 to the original laptop hard drive or to the new Toshiba?
- Where did you get the ISO file for Windows 7 Ultimate?

Hi, I have also posted this in Lenovo's forum, but perhaps someone here have a solution as well. Recently my HDD crashed, so I plugged in a new HDD with a fresh Windows 7 Professional 64bit. I am trying to install the driver for my ATI HD 5730. I downloaded the driver from the Lenovo support page, installed it, and it installed sucessfully. I clicked "view log", all successful;I went to the device manager, it recognized the HD 5730 as well as the Intel Graphic. CCC is in the context manual of the desktop, but it doesn't open. However, the resolution of the screen remains at 1024 x 768. When I restart the computer, it says something along the line of "No ATI graphics driver is installed, or the ATI driver is not functioning." I tried to uninstall it, from program files, then cleaned the rest with Driver Sweeper, and then cleaned registry with Glary Uitility. Reinstalled, and same result. I even tried to uninstall all display drivers, and let Windows find the "new" hardware. Windows recognized and install the driver for the Intel Graphic, but failed to install anything for the 5730. I searched the web and I can't seem to find a solution that works. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

But if i try to install this graphic card drive with battery (plugged out) then everything can be fine and there is no black screen. Also if i remove the ati graphic card drive on safe mode i can entry on VGA with plugged in or plugged out ( battery) there is no problem. But i have to install amd driver on properly for 3D programs and some games.

By the way i established windows 7, 8.1 and 10 (x64) but there was no solution. I always saw black screen. Also i should say that i tried to install with battery afterthat plugged in but the screen froze.

This happens randomly, and there is no particular, specific trigger.
Has taken place twice.
The first time around, I went through the boot menu (F12) and selected my hard drive.
The second time, I did the same. But, a resume after hibernation made my screen freeze at a black screen with a blipping, white underscore (_). Ctrl+Alt+Del restarted my computer. And it is now working properly, or so I hope.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening? And how do I fix this?

A:Lenovo Ideapad Y560 "black screen in boot up after windows 7 logo"

Sounds like a corrupted file system, so try running chkdsk.

How to run System File Checker (SFC) or chkdsk from the Recovery ConsoleBoot your Vista or Windows 7 installation DVD
When you see "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD", press Enter
At the "Install Windows" screen, click on Repair your computer at lower left
At the System Recovery Options screen, make note of the drive letter assigned to your boot drive (normally C and click Next
At the Chose a Recovery Tool window, click on Command Prompt. You will be sitting at X:\Sources directory
Run SFC or chkdskIf you did not note the drive letter of your boot disk, you can enter bcdedit and look at the osdevice line to see what it is.
For sfc, type sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows and press Enter (use the letter from above)
For chkdsk, type chkdsk c: /r and press Enter (use the letter from above).

Let either run to completion undisturbed.

Ad-Hoc requires that you restart the session each time.

Connectify pro has an auto start option that does this but it's a paid version, connectify lite is free but I'm not sure if has auto start.

Hey Guys, I picked up a Yoga 3 just before xmas and its been running well until just recently. I have noticed that if I shut the machine down and then return to it later it will often not turn back on. Pressing the power button will cause the keyboard to light up but nothing else. After a random amount of time and attempts it will turn on. Whilst trying the light on the power button will remain on. I have contacted online support and they want me to post the laptop to Germany for them to take a look but this wil leave me without my work computer for some time. This problem is also random in that it doesnt always happen. I worry they will try a few times and not be able to reproduce the issue and post it back. Any one any idea of what it might be? I searced the forum and found similar stories but no real advice as to what it might be or a fix. I have updated the BIOS, which didnt seem to help.  Thanks guys

Hello. Yesterday I have dropped my 4 years old Lenovo B590 and I left it alone for a day. Today I'm trying to turn it on and I have a trouble with it. When I do it for the first time it says it does the Automatic Repair and Diagnosing Your PC, and then shows the Automatic Repair blue page with options to Restart and Advanced Oprions. And if I Restart it, it is then stuck on Lenovo first page and does not load further. So then I have to turn it off and on again. And there is Automatic Repair again. So what shall I do? If you have a data on the hard drive that is important to you, I would take your computer to a reputable local computer shop and have them try to backup your data.    It is possible that the drop damaged the hard drive, but the fact that it tries to boot at very all is a good sign, so there is a good chance that your data can be backed up.  In a worst case scenario, you may have to replace the hard drive (which are not too expensive), but it may be repairable too, but if you data is irreplaceable, I would not touch it until I had a backup in hand. Good Luck,

Hi everyone, I have a H530s, it's about 15 months old but I only used it once or twice a month for a couple of hours each time since I bought it. So it has probably less than 50 hours use on it. About 3 months ago it wouldn't come on after I pressed the power button. Left it for a few weeks as I hadn't time to do anything with it. Tried it again but still dead. Opened it up, all looked normal, tried all connections etc. Still dead. The following week I was about to take it to a pc shop for repair but thought I would plug it in and try one last time, it came on straight away!  Powered up, done all the updates. 3 restarts for installs to complete, ran antivirus checks,  ran diagnostics,  all fine. Computer worked as normal. Next day, dead again. Got a refurbished power supply and swapped it over, still dead. Changed bios battery, still dead. Took ram and graphics card out and tried to power up, still dead. Fast forward two weeks, plugged it in pushed power button and it came on, ran all checks again, all fine. Edited photos, went online, all fine. Turned it off that night, got up and turned it on the next day and it came on first time. Used it as normal to edit photos for a few hours, turned it off when I had finished with it, tried to turn it on the next day and.... Dead again.  No lights, no anything again,  it's like it's not plugged in, so frustrating.  I've also tried different plug sockets and different power cables. Can anyone help... Read more

A:Lenovo H530s won't turn on. Help.

Hi stuartie007 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Seems only thing that you have tried is reseating the processor and reapplying thermal paste.
Usually it would help doing isolation and reverse check. Since wall sockets and cable are already checked too.

Would the Original Power Suppy work on a different board (or volt meter tested) using verified working power cables ?
Try powering on without the hard drive and memory . Any lights or beeps.
Check if memory and cpu are working on a different PC if available.
Check on the systemboard for any loose pins on capacitors , burnt marks , bulges.

Since most service center have available spare parts to counter test the device, it is only then that we can say probable systemboard / power port issue if not the other devices.

Update us how it goes.

Hello. I have a lenovo G50-45 which I wiped clean and installed Win 8.1 x64 on it yesterday. However I have run into a big issue which is I cannot find any way  to turn on wireless. Wireless worked fine before reinstall. Now the device manager doesn't even show anything related to wifi. I have installed Energy Manager but that hasn't helped at all. Wireless is enabled in BIOS. No drivers for wifi work either. I am stumped, please help me, this is a friend's laptop.Thank you!!

A:Lenovo G50-45 - there is no way to turn on wireles...

hi anabella1234,

Welcome to the Forums.

If you're already installed the driver below then it's likely that you have a different type of wireless card installed

WLAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom) for Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

This may also explain why you still have Network Controller entry in the device manager --which is your wireless adapter.

In this case, can you follow this guide on how to find the hardware ID of the adapter or send me a PM regarding your machine serial number so I could check the brand and type of the wireless card.

Let me know your findings.

I bought a Yoga 700 and after a couple of months it stopped charging and wouldn't turn on. When pressing the power button the light flashed amber a couple of times but that was it. I returned it for repair and the repair notes said the BIOS had been upgraded and it was working again. Unfortunately the person performing the repair sliced the top of the laptop with what looks to have been a Stanley knife but they didn't say anything. I returned it and got a replacement. Now, a few weeks later I have exactly the same symptoms with the new Yoga 700. Is this a known problem with the 700 because it seems too much of a coincidence? I'm probably just going to ask for my money back unless someone can tell me a quick fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, my computer was 100% fine until I restarted after security updates. After restarting it never turned back on. I don't see any lights showing up either. I'm using a Lenovo and Windows 7. Even if there isn't a way to access the laptop, is there at least a way to access my files? I have soooo much business information on it.

I have a Lenovo Windows 10 laptop and yesterday the pop up keyboard started popping up every time that I try to type something.

It isn't the Windows virtual keyboard, that is already off.

Only started yesterday after a reboot, so not sure if it is to do with a Windows 10 upgrade.

Been going around in circles on this one.

hay , i just bought lenovo y50 last week and very satisfied with the performance but this morning when i try to turn on my laptop from hibernate, the layer sudenly goes white so i decide to hard hard shutdown it but when i try to turnit on again it didnt show any sign of life ( layer and fan didnt turn on etc... ) but the battery charge indicate is on ... i read in the internet that we must take out our battery and push the power button to 5-10 second. but since the lenovo y50 has built in battery and im afraid to take the backcase open because of the warranty so i've tough . anyone can help me?

A:Lenovo Y50-70 wont turn on at all

Hello there, I just got the same problem this morning with my Y50-70. It suddenly turned off while I was working with Win7, just a black screen, power off. So I tried to power it on again and it failed, simply no reaction at all. The only thing working is the battery LED when the AC connector is plugged in. My Y50-70 is only 5 weeks old and worked without any problems until today ;-( I called the support at Lenovo and they told me to "hard reset" by pulling the power cable and pressing the power button for 20 seconds....no success at all. Finally after several tries I decided to send my Y50-70 back to Lenovo. It seems to be a hardware problem. Lenovo offer 2 years of warranty for the Y50-70, because of that I decided not to open it. Letīs see how long ist takes until I have my - hopefully working- Y50-70 back.Perhaps you have more luck than I.Greetings from Germany!

Hi guys, sorry to make two posts about the same thing, but I couldn't find a delete button for the other :S

Anyway, I have been looking at a Lenovo Z570 laptop for somebody.
It had a fresh install of windows and all drivers where installed and everything in that sense seems fine. The problem is, when you either try and shut down the laptop, or restart the laptop, the computer seems to power down as normal, the screen goes off etc, but, the power light and everything else stays on, and it stays in this state.

I haven't left it for a long time, to see if it turns off itself, but after about 10minutes, I just have to press the power button for it to turn off.

It cannot be software, as I did a clean install myself to see if it would help, and when the computer restarts halfway through the install, I again have to keep hold of the power button to help it through.

I don't know if this is a hardware fault, or could it possibly be a setting that needs changing somewhere?

Thanks in advance

I noticed on a couple of Notebooks I worked on had success in first turning Off Airplane Mode before turning Wi-Fi On would stick. Don't know that is normal but it worked on those. Also important is that most Notebooks have a switch or an Fn plus another Fx key [or maybe just an Fx key] to use hardware to turn the Wi-Fi on or off.

Hello all, just looking for some help. I am completely desperate at this point!
As the title states, I own the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 inch version (the one on this link http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-2-2-in-1-11-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-pentium-4gb-memory-5...
Please note that this is the version with the Pentium N3520, not the i5-4210Y! This laptop was purchased at the end of March.

Anyway, the last time I used this laptop was on Thursday. I used it to quickly email something to the desktop I was using. I noticed it had around 10% battery left, so I planned on charging it later that day.

I got caught up with some other school work and did not touch my laptop until Friday morning. I pressed the power button, but it did not turn on. This was not surprising, since I figured the battery had run out since the previous day. I plugged it in but immediately noticed that something was wrong. The Power/Charging LED did not turn on. The laptop does not POST, and it does not beep! The fans do not start up, and the screen does not even flicker. It is exactly as if the battery is not there. The charger and the outlet work fine, as they have been tested with another Lenovo laptop.

I opened it up to see if anything was loose, but nothing appears wrong. I am seriously scared that I will have to return this laptop to Lenovo. I have very sensitive information regarding my engineering work, and some private files from a company. Plus, I have all my N... Read more

I was using my laptop this morning, closed the lid, and went on to use the wifi from my phone (my wifi is weird in that I can only have one device connected at a time. I don't think this is relevant, but who knows?)When I went back to my laptop and opened the lid, it didn't start up from hybernation. I noticed that the battery light was blinking orange, so I plugged it in. Now the battery light comes on as white (which means charging but not critical battery life.)But when I push the power button, nothing at all happens. The power button usually glows when it's powering up, but now it doesn't do that. Nothing at all happens, except for the glowing white light aignifying charging when it's plugged in.Also, I notice that when it is plugged in, and when I press and hold the power for some time (10-20 seconds) the charging light will stop glowing for a bit. But beyond that, nothing happens: no fans, no sounds, nothing. This is one of the worst times for this to happen, since I have so much to do on my computer. Thanks in advance for reading this, and thank you for any help you can give.

Hello This problem that I have is not a recently problem. It occured I think One and a half years ago for the first time. The laptop is never crashed in the three years that I have him and I'm running now Windows 8.1. Not switched yet to 10. Now the problem is getting more and more worse. So when I press the powerbutton nothing happens. It doesn't matter, I figured out, that the battery is plugged in or not or that the laptop is connected with the charger. Every time now that I want to start my laptop I need to press multiple times but not with a specific rhythm. Sometimes he will start when I press for a longer period (around 5 sec), sometimes not. So he is very inconsistance. Luckily I still manage to get him working every morning but i'm afraid that it will not lost for a long period.  Is it possible that I have a hardware problem and not a software problem?Could it be that my power button makes false contact or that it is just some dirt that got into it?Is there a way to start my laptop without using the power button? Please I need to get rid of this problem because I'm now on a exchange program in Finland for my thesis and I can't afford my laptop to not work anymore! I hope someone knows a solution but I searched on the internet with a similar problem but I didn't find anything. Kind regards David Bongartz

A:Lenovo G500s laptop will turn on only after a lot ...

Hi DavidBongartz ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As how you describe , seems issue would be more as a mechanical on the power button.
You can also turn on the PC using the novo button ( small key next to the power item 5 page4).
This would offer normal start up to boot on Windows.

Would there be a squishy or unnatural feel with the button ?
Aside from the power button , beneath it is a power board that is shared by the lenovo button.
So if both buttons would fail, it may be the power board that is involved (item 3 page 80).

Thinking of another option , specially if you are working on an important document, to keep the battery always charge is to set the power option to just sleep instead of turning it off.

Reminder : always back up your file on a separate location other than this pc like a cloud storage or an external storage for safe keep just in case.

Update us how it works for you.

Regards

I had opened it to just take a look at it and check if i saw anything burned.  So when i click on the power button, the fans wont turn on just the lights. I need help as soon as possible because i need a fast answer my warranty is almost void !

A:Lenovo y50 70 Wont Turn On Only POwer

Hi AmericanFighter ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The burnt smell and the boom noise heard before the issue is an important event that should be notified with the technical support team.

As some SN may not show readily on the warranty look up page at the moment due to some changes in the server  you may call in Lenovo tech for an immediate identification and recommendation for repair on the issue or you can send me a private message to check the warranty for you (don't post the SN as it should be kept confidential).

As per opening the cover to investigate , this would not void the warranty as long as no damage during the process as commonly done on customer upgrades similar to this discussion. Issue may either be the power port , systemboard and heatsink and fan needed to be serviced,

My one month old Lenovo u410 won't turn on even with the charger plugged in. I misplaced my charger and couldn't charge my u410 which went into sleep mode as it reached its 5% battery level. Looks like I'm having the same issue. Contacted Costco concierge who couldnt do much more than transfer me over to the wrong Lenovo support line, then ended up with some Ideapad support that told me to : remove the battery from the device... I guess they don't know how their devices are put together... His solution was to send it in for repair... My solution: Bring the 4 days old piece of crap back to costco, get a refund and buy another brand.

My laptop doesn't turn on anymore. Here is what I have to do to turn it on (I tried many sequence of steps, but this is the only one that works every time):-Disconnect battery and CMOS battery-Press power button ten times, then press and hold for 30 seconds-Connect power adaptor and press power button At this point, my laptop turns on, but I have to reset my time and date in BIOS (of course this is normal since I disconnected the CMOS batter). Once I turn my laptop on, my batter shows that it is charging and it is at 100%. I dual boot and both Ubuntu and Windows 8.1 show the batter charging at 100%.As soon as I unplug my AC adaptor, the laptop turns off again and I have to repeat the sequence above again to turn it on. This happens consistently. However, if I shutdown my laptop the right way without unplugging the AC adaptor at any point, it turns back on normally. This happens of both my Linux and Windows OS. What I've tried:-Uninstalling battery drivers and restarting my laptop-Updating to the latest power management drives from this Lenovo websiteI also read that some HP laptops have software issues that doesn't allow the laptop to switch from AC adaptor mode to battery mode. I believe this might be the issue I'm seeing, but I couldn't find a way to check this setting. I don't think this last detail is related, but when I shutdown Windows, I see a message saying:Closing 1 app and restartingAsusSGPLusBTServerThis app is preventing you f rom restartingAlo... Situation: 09/29/2016, used it before going to work. Battery was charged and was plugged into outlet. Logged off. When I came home from work (live by myself) and pressed the power button, nothing happened. Two lights in front turned on solid white and that's it. No fan noise or screen display. Was operating just fine before this. Only thing is that Windows 10 Anniversary Update installed day or two before all this started. Several things after doing some tests. Battery is OK. Charger is OK. Hard Drive is OK (remoned it and tried in USB drive enclosure). Tried pushing NOVO button (this turned off white lights in front). The problem is somewhere in the laptop itself unless I missed something. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

A:Lenovo z70-80 wifi whitelist

Hello and welcome,

The whitelisted wifi models and FRU numbers are in the Hardware Maintenance Manual - Lenovo G70-70, G70-80, Z70-80

As you may know, a card must be a listed model and have a matching Lenovo FRU number to pass the whitelist. Just matching the model is not sufficient.

Hello! I just bought a Levono gaming Laptop. I'm now like 15h more trying to solve this and I simply can't found the answer. My problem is: the WiFi connection is perfect when 2 meters far from the router. But from my badroom, which is 10 meters maximum in a clean straight line without walls, it not work. It can reach the router and open a single internet page in like, 1 minute, if it open. But I just need to come close to the router to it work perfectly. We have more 4 laptops in the house and 4 smartphones. All of them work even outside of the house, double or even triple the distance of my room. But this laptop not. This is my configs:Lenovo Y50-70NVIDIA GeForce 960mi7-4720HQ8GB Ram Win 10Realtek RTL8188EU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network AdapterIt happen with or without the power cabe on. I already tried in the Advanced tab on Realtek driver:Every combination changing the Brandwidth (20MHz only and 20-40MHz), the Wireless Mode (IEEE 802.11b - 802.11b/g - 802.11b/g/n), the WiFi Config (Performance - WiFi). Also the Power Management, which it's not checked the box to turn off to save power. I already have installed the latest Intel PROSet, for Win10 (Wireless_18.40.0_PROSet64_Win10)The Power Options is setted everything to the same as if it's plugged. Also tried the "ScanWhenAssociated". I really don't know anymore what to do. Please, someone can help me? Thanks!

Lenovo G585 Wireless Network Issue [ Edited ]

I just purchased a brand new Lenovo G585 laptop and after I powered it on for the first time, I tried to connect to the internet wirelessly but I only saw the Ethernet option under network connections in the control panel and not the wireless LAN or WIFI option.

I looked to see if any drivers were installed correctly and I believe they were. I manually downloaded the wireless LAN driver and installed it. It said that it was already installed but I still performed a overwrite and continued to install it. After it was finish, a warning popup came up and it said "No appropriate driver to be installed."

I wasn't able to figure it out on my own what the problem may be so I contacted the Lenovo tech support and they did a remote session. They basically did the same thing I was doing when I tried to figure out the problem. Also, I went into the BIOS menu and saw that the Wireless LAN Support was enabled so the representative told me that it shouldn't be a hardware issue, it'll most likely be a software issue. He couldn't figure it out either so they told me to call the premium tech support which handles the software issues and they'll help you solve the problem but I've contacted them ... Read more

Hello Lenovo, I saw a lot of users of this laptop, Y50-70 20378, have serios issues with the WIFI card. So do I, and I am very dissapointed and buggered off by this thing. The signal is horrible, can't have wifi signal at few meters away from the router, the connection is unstable even at 10 cm from the router, it always disconnects and loses signal. I can't use the wifi normally at all. I have the Realtek card and the driver is recently updated. Please tell me what can I do, and if it's possible to have the card changed at a Lenovo warranty center because the laptop is still in warranty and this Realtek card is truly deffective.

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your Lenovo ThinkPad T430 is not powering on.
Check if it's something to do with your AC adapter or battery. Insufficient power might cause some of those issues as well. Take the battery out and try to power on your laptop with the charger only. Make sure your laptop power jack and charger plug tip are securely connected. Try starting the laptop using good known AC adapter and battery.

Try connecting the device to an external monitor and check if it displays properly.

Please do let me know the happenings!

Best regards,
Mithun.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 11 laptop. I am a mechanical engineering student, so I use my laptop all of the time for school assignments involving CAD etc. My laptop is essential to me and I take really good care of it! At the end of June 2016, my laptop's battery died. I plugged in the computer expecting it to charge right away, and it would not charge. The battery light would not come on despite it being plugged in for over an hour. I kept trying the power button and nothing would work. The laptop is relatively new and still under warranty, so I contacted Lenovo tech support. They walked me through various troubleshooting techniques to see if my laptop would boot up again and it would not. I looked up alternative solutions that I could potentially try myself, but I did not want to do anything that would void my warranty. Lenovo tech support suggested that I should send it in to the Lenovo repair facility. They said the turnaround for repairs was about 7 business days. I was in an online summer course at the time and needed my laptop fixed quickly, so I was relieved to hear that repairs usually only took about 7 days. I  packaged up my laptop and sent it in. I patiently waited and my laptop was not coming back. It ended up being in the Lenovo repair facility for over A MONTH. They replaced my motherboard. Upon getting my laptop back a month later, I found that some sort of test software and an older operating system (I think Windows 8.3) was installed... Read more

Well, uhm... First of all: Greetings! This is my first... well, post here.I'm having a rather distressful issue with my ideapad 305. I've had it for roughly two months. Here's the situation:Early this Sunday morning, my laptop was working just fine. I turned it on for about half an hour and then shut it down to do some stuff. After returning home some hours later, I turned it back on and did some work - the usual stuff. I shut it down after a couple hours and then tucked it securely in my backpack and left to visit a friend. When I took my laptop out and set it up and turned it on, it emitted a faint "fffrt" sound after a few seconds of starting up and shut down. I was surprised and turned it back on. Everything went normal until it prompted me with the black screen and white text pointing out it had shut down oddly a few moments ago, and it gave me two options: Continue as normal or check and repair any damage. I, of course, went for the latter and then was prompted a minute later with the option to roll back in case any data was damage, losing some of my data in the process (installed software and such). Because I didn't want to risk losing anything, I went for "No" and the process cancelled itself and the laptop shut down. That's where the problem began: My laptop refuses to start up again. Whenever I press the power button, the LED lights up for a brief instant and nothing happens; no sound, no fan working, no nothing. I tried plugging the charger and the small LEDs that te...
