Q: Lenovo y 70 70 Intel HD Graphics 4600 stopped resp...

Hello everyone. Now I would recreate a topic as I do not receive any answers in the firs tone.I have a Lenovo y 70 70 T with Win 10 home x 64.I have this system since Early august. After the last big windows update( November update to build 10586.11) i started to have this error:
Intel hd 4600 Graphics driver has stopped responidng and succesfully recovered. I get this while playing games/watching videos/making videos. The screen freezes for a couple of secs. Make me sick.I wasted 3 days of my life trying to solve this by installing the suggested driver from Lenovo website and the latest from intel. All this dud not help. I also wasted around 6 hours with Windws 10 support on the phone and they made me perform repair system- nothing changed. This is 100% driver issue. Now the sad part. My laptop is on warranty and kinda expensive, especially for me and I get literally 0 support from Lenovo. Not only have not they made a normal driver( for this build of windows), but also post cheesy links to old drivers.WHen I call them they tell me(we don't have needed spare parts we are sorry), even though it is clear that the issue is with software and the product is on warranty so even if it was something with hardware, they must provide it for me.I am really sick and angry that manufacturer does not even try to make its products work even if they cost load of money. I still have a very little hope that we will see a normal customized driver from Lenovo for Intel VGA that will solve this issue(DRIVER FOR 10586 windows 10 build, not that ugly 4240 from 17 of JULY). , but the hope is steadily fading.Really upset with this approach from support(which, btw, does not even have a callback option in Norway). And when I talk to them they show no understanding of what happened and tell me about spare parts and downgrading to windows 8(guys are probably sitting on windows 7 and have no idea what i mean when I say windows 10 Fall update).I am done.

I'm having the same problem, but it seems like the Lenovo peeps are not even responding to the previous comments. I just got this same expensive laptop and I might as well just return it for refund. I don't have the patience to wait for responses or be on hold for hours and hours on end with no solution. This is my first Lenovo and I am very disappointed. Will someone PLEASE FINALLY come up with a solution to this issue?

I'm having the same problem on my HP Envy 17 product #G0U21AV . I've tried using both HP support application and the driver updates from Intel directly- no luck.  I hope this gets resolved soon. Oddly enough the HP webpage offers me a NVIDIA driver update and I don't believe my system even has an NVIDIA graphics card, its the built in Intel HD 4600 series. Hope someone from the community or support knows how to fix this.

On 11/16/2015 Microsoft automatically installed "upgrade 1511" on my Windows 10 laptop.(This laptop was previously successfully upgraded from Window 8.1 to Windows 10 in August.) After the 1511 upgrade, I began receving the following error while playing Microsoft games:"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered - Display driver Intel HD Graphics driver for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has recovered." According to Device Manager, the upgrade installed driver 10.18.15.4256 dated 7/15/2015.  I did a rollback to 10.18.15.4248 dated 6/29/2015.  This did not resolve the problem.I checked HP Support Assistant, and applied sp72370 labeled 10.18.15.4248 Rev C dated 8/5/2015.  This did not resolve the problem. I engaged HP Smart Friend service, and they reapplied 10.18.15.4248 via Device Manager search the web for driver.  He installed Intel Driver Update Utility 2.2, but newer driver was not installed due to "driver installed by manfacturer (HP). HP Support person recommended restoring back to restore point prior to Microsoft "upgrade 1511".   I was not comfortable doing this, as "upgrade" was a significant update from Microsoft using the same process as the intial migration from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.  The customer can no longer control timing of updates, and updates are cumulative - no longer able to pick and choose specific updates. For now I have deceided to live with this error condition, a... I disabled the Intel HD graphics driver, and used the NVIDIA graphics driver to play the game.  No problem. Disabling the Intel driver resulted in the fan speed reving at a higher speed intermittently.HP Smart Friend support assured me that the higher fan speed behavior would not result in problems with premature hardware failure down the road.  Do you concur? They indicated my choices were to keep the Intel HD graphic driver disabled and use the NVIDIA solely, or live with the problem until HP releases a newer Intel driver - it only affects game playing, all other functions appear to be normal.

When is HP going to update this driver. I cannot install any new drivers because of manufacturer restrictions. If you are going to customize the video chips then you need to provide updates. I paid over $800 for this laptop if you don't provide support it will be the last HP computer I purchase.

Well sat down last night put it in used Arctic Cool 4 thermal paste and it runs even cooler than before it seems never really benched before hand. Figure just do the long tear down be patient and reap the challenge. Very stable before hand with limited issues from windows 10: Now directly after swap had issues where battery did not want to charge and the screen will go insane. Solution ! Yup a fresh install , Outcome battery works fine screen works till Intel HD 4600 Drivers get auto updated then goes back to crazy town. Only work around I've come across is to use my dock to other monitors as its stable here, undock screen goes bonkers. So after several formats playing with blocking updates , installing drivers from Intel and Lenovo manually same issue still remains. Question can the integrated graphics of the CPU be bad? All test i throw at it says its good passes everything no hiccups. If i open device manager disable the Intel 4600 drivers and un dock screen is stable, when formatting and fresh install on generic Microsoft drivers, again stable. The problem imedianlty shows when the Intel HD 4600 drivers are loaded and yes I tried everyone on there site as well Lenovos to see if there was a winner. I bought the PC for graphics OPEN GL 3D modeling.  Everything was working fine Out the Box.  So I did upgrade and was pulled away from the PC for a like 2-3 months maybe a lil longer.  Finally freed up some time and began to get back to the 3d and now a few of my programs say the GPU isn't working and OpenGL is disabled!!! The graphics UI that allowed me to tweak the card for 3d performance doesn't appear anymore. I just get the standard windows configuration I USED to be able to do an opengl version test and went up to like 4.6 or higher (like I said it was a while ago),  That's why I walked away cause the machine passed beyond expectations, now the opengl test CRASHES!!! After HOURS of trolling the web I think it's a windows 10 upgrade issue. I wish I could roll back to 8. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ASAP! I have a major project coming up and I have to use a SUB-PAR program to initiate the deal but the finality MUST BE 3D!!!!!! NattyOH PLEASE HELP!!!

Windows 10 just installed on my laptop.. and it refuses to allow me to open an overlay editor. It complains that it has a problem with my intel HD Graphics 4600 card.
I downloaded the latest new drivers for this card - ones that were made available because of the release of Windows 10 and this installation made no difference. I even uninstalled the existing drivers and than rebooted. No luck.

What have I missed?? Everything else seems to work. I have only had windows 10 on my laptop now for about 2 hours. Not sure what will happen later as time goes on.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi ve1drg and welcome to the forum

Please complete your system specs within your profile in full. In particular, where it asks for make and model of device, just saying Lenovo is insufficient.

Is this a Win10 upgrade or a clean install? What method did you use to upgrade?Did you confirm activation of Win10?Please post a screenshot of your device manager. With the exception of you downloading the latest driver for the 4600, have you changed any other drivers from the default Microsoft drivers installed during the upgrade /Win10 clean install?

Hello. My PC uses Intel HD Graphics 4600 for its graphics driver. Here is the link to the latest driver version:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...15-40-4th-Gen-

However, when I go on to Device Manager and select 'Update Driver Software' it gives me this driver version:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...-for-Intel-NUC

As you can see, this driver software states that it is for Intel NUC products (which I do not have), but it still gives me it as the 'latest driver software' for my Intel HD Graphics 4600.

Finally, when I run Intel's automatic driver finder and installer, I get this driver:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...0-3rd-Gen-BYT-

I am extremely confused with which driver is the latest and best for my PC. Could someone please help me? Thank you in advance.

A:Intel HD Graphics 4600

I would install the latest Driver Version: 15.40.10.64.4300 which supports your Intel HD 4600 (4th generation Intel processor)
Only limitation you need to have windows 10 64 bit version.

Ps. You are sure you have a Intel HD 4600 and not a HD4000, because than you have to install Version: 15.33.39.4276 (Latest)

Good Evening

Any one out there that could possibly help in getting Transport Giant Gold edition (without any other mods installed) to run on my new HP model. HP Pro Book 450 G1.
What amazes me is that an older program called Freight Tycoon runs perfectly, but the TG Gold "stops" at the menu, when it wants to do the "screen resolution check".
I have it running on another pc with Win 7 Home Edition without any problems!
Is it just the diff between Win 7 Pro & Home Edition that will not let the program run?
Any ideas and or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thank you & have a great evening

Regards from South Africa

Richard

A:Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

It's probably not the difference between the Home Edition and Pro that's causing the problem. It's likely that the game is finding something in your graphics card that it doesn't like.

Are your video drivers installed and up to date with the most recent version applicable to your PC?

I have a Lenovo y50-70 laptop with the i7 processor, nvidea graphics card and intel HD 4600 card.  Ever since I installed Windows 10 last fall, I've been getting an error message saying that something along the lines of: there was an error with intel HD graphics 4600 graphics card, but it has recovered. According to the drivers console, I have the most recent version of this card.I've looked into downloading a different version of that driver from intel's site but can't since its not compatible with Lenovo's software. I've seen that there are numerous other users having this very same problem, and yet I have to see anyone, either from Intel or Lenovo, provide a definitive fix to it.  Can anyone here give me instructions on what I need to do to resolve this issue.  It is very frustrating that this glitch keeps happening, especially considering how big the 2 companies are.

Which of these two is better? I have both of them in my PC. I have heard that the hd graphics does better than the nvidia gt 610. Would it make any difference if I disable the nvidia card and use the intel graphics? Or do both of them work together in sync?

A:Intel HD Graphics 4600 with Nvida GT 610

You really, seriously believe that the Intel HD is better than the Nvidia?! Then the joke is on you, my friend. I don't know where you got your info, but it's just flat-out wrong.

Try play a relatively recent game with the Intel HD forcefully set as your primary card (in the Nvidia Control Panel). It may run OK, maybe not. Then forcefully set the Nvidia as your primary card and play the same game again. You'll see how much better it runs. Maybe not great, but it will beat the Intel HD by a mile any day.

Combo Intel HD/Nvidia setups are known as Optimus. The Intel will generally run the primary display when not gaming, but the Nvidia should (but not always) automatically take the reigns when a game or other 3D application is started. But you can forcefully set either the Intel or the Nvidia as the primary display to override this behavior. I will assume you have a laptop rather than a desktop, I also have an Alienware laptop with Optimus. I play games on it all the times, including newer games like Grand Theft Auto V, Fallout 4, etc, they run pretty well for the most part (after some tweaking). But I have forcefully set the Nvidia to run as primary all the time.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I can do every single Windows Update without issues, unfortunately in last 3-4 days, I am being offered with Windows Update for Intel HD Graphics 4600, which always fails to install.

I have downloaded original driver from my laptop manufactures website (MSI) and tried to install update after installing the original one - it did not work. I have also tried driver directly from INTEL's website - no joy as well.

Any idea what is going wrong?

Have been reading on Microsoft's website that this display adapter is NOT compatible with Windows 10, period and there is no answer to fix the problem??? Computer keeps giving errors 'display adapter has stopped working and has recovered' or something like that, and also several programs stop working properly like our Zune software. Does anyone have any answers? Would replacing the video card with something different fix this issue? HELP!

Hey all,

I recently built an Intel Core i5-4690K w/ Asus Z97-A Motherboard. It has built in Intel HD Graphics 4600.

The motherboard has HDMI/DVI-D/S-VGA & Display Port.

I am using a Insignia NS-28E200NA14 28" 720P TV as a monitor.

It has HDMI and VGA inputs.

I use to just run VGA, but with my new computer I am doing a dual boot Windows 7 / OSX system.

OSX does not support VGA only DVI and HDMI...

Soo, fast forward to my problem, I am using HDMI which works fine, except that every time my computer goes into power save (sleep) mode, instead of the tv/monitor also going into sleep mode as it did with VGA, it just says No signal then after a few minutes of no signal, it turns it self completely off...

The problem with this is that every time I want to wake the computer up, I also have to turn the TV/Monitor back on as it has shut itself off completely instead of just "Power save" mode..

The motherboard's DVI port is a DVI-D port, so I can't simply just use a DVI-I - VGA adaptor...

Is there any kind of solution for me? I've got to use either the HDMI, DVI-D or Display Port as those are the only ones that are supported both by Windows and OSX.

Thanks!

-TheChad

First Post. Good Morning, all.  For the past 5 days at shutdown I have received update 1 of 1 which is an attempt to update "Intel Corporation driver update for Intel HD Graphics 4600" driver. It has failed each day. I have not noted any problems during the normal daily operation.  It is only at shutdown that Update 1 of 1 is attempted. I have not attempted a manual request for a download assuming it will generate the same result. I have not updated to Windows 10 and have turned off attempts to do so. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello. I have a zBook 15 with Windows 10 that had to go back to Windows 8.1 due to problems with the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 driver. This zBook 15 has both the Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA Quadro K2100M. After confirmation that Windows 10 was compatible with my system, I installed it and worked fine for some time until an HP update.  The HP update created a problem with the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 driver.Apparently the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 driver is no longer compatible with Windows 10.I get the following error while on Windows 10: "display driver stopped responding and has recovered display driver intel hd graphics drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered" When this happens the computer gets really slow.I called Intel and Microsoft and they informed me that HP should be working on an update for the Intel HD 4600. Adding QWORD TdrDelay in the registry makes things worst. Currently I am back to Windows 8.1 and the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 driver has not shown any errors. I would like to know if there is confirmation on a new driver for the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 compatible with Windows 10. Thanks.

The newest release of this driver is version 15.40.10.64.4300. After installing, my computer restarts and everything is fine. My problem occurs after a couple of days (I think it is caused when I switch power plans or unplug laptop) the power saving technology in the Intel graphics control panel is turned on even though I have the setting disabled. This setting is very annoying because on a white background the brightness is normal, but when on a darker background the brightness gradually decreases. Also when looking in Intel graphics control panel it says I have driver version 20.19.15.4300. Even though I have installed the newest update.

Side note I have the windows power option turned off for adaptive brightness

Right-click on the desktop and select Graphics properties (this is the Intel Control Panel). See if you can adjust the brightness from there and turn off any power option.

Sorry this isn't exactly about graphics cards.

I can't seem to increase my dedicated video memory for integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600, even though I have put it up to 1024MB (1GB) in my BIOS. My Total Available Graphics Memory is 7786MB, and my Shared System Memory is 7658MB. However, no matter how much I change it in the BIOS, my Dedicated Video Memory (DVM) is always stuck at 128M. Is this a integrated graphics thing or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A:Intel HD Graphics 4600 Dedicated Video Memory

It uses more ram when it needs it, no need to have it dedicated .
from Intel
"Since there is no performance advantage to "reserve" a lot of system memory for graphics at boot and thus making it unusable for common applications such as Excel, Photoshop, etc., Microsoft requires that Intel graphics dynamically allocates memory system only when needed - without holding a bunch of memory as "dedicated". What Windows is calling dedicated 32MB is actually only a small amount of system memory to graphics drivers reserves at the start of internal bookkeeping"

Hi,
I have a XPS 15 9530, with a fresh install of windows 10 and the latest drivers from dell support site.
I'm having a lot of problems with the Intel HD Graphics 4600 card, lot of driver crashes.
As soon I start Visual Studio, or Spotify or other app the driver crash notification appears:

In the eventviewer the following error appears: Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered. (EvenID 4101)
I tried to remove the device from the Device Manager incl. the drivers and install them again, but the problem is not solved.
Some suggestions?

Since I got my new laptop, I've had an intermittent problem where the screen would go completely blank for about 1-2 seconds before coming back on. At times, when the screen comes back on, the Aero theme would be switched off and the basic theme would be running without any of my settings changing.

I actually made a previous post about this issue: Screen flashes on and off/theme switches from Aero to Basic.

So I figured I had a problem with my Nvidia card. I uninstalled the Nvidia drivers using driver sweeper and re-installed them, but the problem persisted. Now that my computer is toward the end of its warranty, I've been looking into this problem more deeply because I wanted to get it fixed under warranty IF it was a hardware problem. As it turns out, however, the integrated graphics on the processor are running the display, so I figure now that the problem is the Intel integrated graphics. So, my question is, in hopes of eliminating this problem once and for all, is there anyway I can switch all of the computer's graphics settings over the Nvidia chip? I've heard of people trying this and messing up by turning the Intel graphics off before switching to their graphics card and not being able to get their display to work at all, so I definitely want to do it right.

Here are my system specs if necessary:

Hi. Initially I had problem only with NVidia driver on Windows 10. It didn't work with code 43 message. I tried to reinstall driver several times but without success. After upgrading Windows 10 on 14th of November I faced another problem - driver for integrated graphic chip didn't not work too. Furthermore this driver is not installed even. After try to install it OS didn't not start at all and showed only black screen. I had to enter to safe mode and delete this driver to have working OS, working without all video drivers. Eventually I had to revert upgrade and currently I have only integrated video chip only again. My questions is how to solve problems with drivers. Is it only my personal problem or problem of drivers for my model of Notebook? When I had got Windows 10 upgrade at the beginning of August I thought it was a temporary problem with drivers and it would be fixed. But it does not seem so now after 3 months waiting.

I set the trackpoint speed in the mouse pointer options in control panel to max speed, and , then I also set the trackpoint to max speed in the synaptics specific driver.  This is great, the mouse is really responsive and i can scroll quickly and move the mouse from the left side to the right with very little pressure.  Recently though, I have noticed that the trackpoint has about halved in responsiveness and to move at full speed i have to apply maximum pressure against the trackpoint.  This is making my finger quite sore and is extremely annoying.... even my old t430 and T400 have way better trackpoint responsiveness.  I've tried reinstalling the trackpoint driver but no luck.   I noticed that there seems to be a fairly recent trackpoint driver update and was wondering if that was the problem.  But, lenovo do not publish the older drivers like they used to .    How do I fix this? I'm not even certain whether it is a software issue or hardware!!!

I have an brand new i3 processor, trying to use the onboard GPU (tomorrow I'm getting an xfx 5770 xxx) but everytime I boot with intel drivers installed it crashes saying:

Intel graphics accelerator for xp (r) stopped responding and has recovered

It does this 3/4 times then just hangs. Ive used drivers from intel, gigabyte, driver genius, windows and they all crash.

The chip and memory are overclocked, I bought the bundle from overclockers.co.uk (had many years good service from them) So could it be the overclock that is doing it?

I dont want to touch the clock speeds as it was set by them but I have to run safe mode or uninstall the intel drivers to get the bloody thing to stay booted.

When I installed windows 7 first, I remember the drivers working, but now it crashes everytime. It seems to crash all the time since I took out the 3450 which is now in another PC.

Anyone know anything about this?

Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I was using the Paint app on my vista when it started to become very slow and unresponsive.I was still able to use it but it was very very slow...then it started to totally freeze up my computer to where I couldn't even get task manager to come up
so I could end the program.. it got progressively worse and now I can't use the paint app at all.

I checked the laptop with a diagnostic tool that I found and it said there is a problem with the
Intel Graphics Driver Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset family 7.15.10.1591.
This was not really an error message that popped up, it just was a "statement" that said it
was not working properly and gave me suggestions on what to do such as checking for driver
updates, cleaning registry.
I checked both MS and Intel sites and there are no updates for this driver, it is up to date. I scanned the registry and swept it and I'm still having the problem.
Still can't use the paint app at all.
Can I fix this driver? Should I do a restore to an earlier date? This only started happening a day or so ago.

Also when I checked the status in device manager it says that the device is working properly!
That really confused me..because one part of the computer says there's a problem and the other
says it's working fine. I am praying that you're not going to tell me to uninstall and re-
install the driver ...I'm afraid that may be too advanced for me.

Hi all,
I just got this Dell Inspiron laptop about 2 wks ago, i5-6200U 8GB RAM, Windows 10. I did not go for the pre-installed McAfee trial. I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2016. It has been several days now that I get a Windows notification saying that Kaspersky firewall  and Windows firewall are disabled. I tried turning on Windows firewall but the option remains grayed out. When I open Kaspersky it shows that my computer is protected and no mention of anything being disabled. I completely removed Kaspersky from the system and only then I was able to turn on Windows firewall. Now I am relying on Windows firewall and Windows defender.Another thing that has been happening almost daily is  this notification saying that Intel HD Graphics had stopped working and has recovered. I don't think I want to reinstall Kaspersky. At Best Buy they told me that they use Bitdefender. I am leaning towards that, but since I have no idea what is going on, I just wanna wait a while. I hear a lot of complaints about Windows 10.
Personally I use Internet Explorer instead of Edge. I find it too slow. On a previous laptop, not Dell, I was using Firefox and it worked fine, until I took the  bait and installed Windows 10. Since then, Firefox crashes upon first run. I did not install it on the Inspiron because I didn't want to take a chance.

A:Kaspersky Internet Security and Windows Firewall disabled, Intel HD graphics stopped working and recovered, can't disable touchpad

Hi A6RO81, and welcome to the forum.
As I recently purchased a Dell laptop, maybe I can help you. As you discovered, all Dells come with a pre-installed AV. The most important thing to do, if you did not want McAfee, was to not activate it, and delete it via your control panel. For extra assurance, you can run the uninstall tool (mcpr) from McAfee, which is available here, to completely eliminate McAfee:us.mcafee.com/.../mcpr.asp
Computers do not like duelling AVs, which compete to eliminate threats. This degrades system performance. Kaspersky is a top-notch AV, but if you find it lacking, again you will want to run its uninstall tool, free to download from here:

When you completely uninstall all traces of McAfee and of Kaspersky, your Windows firewall and Windows Defender AV should be working. If not, let us know.
I can't answer all your questions. Suffice it to say that the native Windows 10 firewall, and the Windows Defender AV provide fairly good protection. You just want to be sure that all traces of other AVs have been deleted.
And yes, 8 GB of RAM should suffice for your purposes.

Question is: The HD 4600 claims it only supports up to DirectX 11.1. Is there any possible conflict with DirectX 12 installed? Hello.

I just bought a Zeus Mini i300 from Best Buy. PC arrived today, set it up and it will not detect the GTX 750. it only detects the Intel Integrated HD card on the mobo. Not sure what to do, I've tried a number of things and my computer doesn't even detect the GTX 750. In GPU-z only the Intel HD shows up. I don't know if this is a factor but upon first boot, I had the monitor plugged into the mobo i.e. Intel HD. Whenever I try to plug into the GPU, be it HDMI or regular cable that came with the monitor, there is nothing but darkness. Tried to install Nvidia drivers, it cannot detect hardware. In the BIOS it's under PEG instead of IGD but still nothing. When I boot up with the cable plugged into the slot for the GPU, I cannot even see the BIOS. It's just a dark screen. My last resort was to try Windows Update, and it downloaded some nVidia apater/drivers right now for the GTX 750. Updates were a success, apparently, yet in device manager I still only see the Intel 4600 and when trying to manually install the Nvidia driver that I downloaded from their website, it says "could not find compatibable hardware". I am at a loss and this is a completely new system. Under device manager, when I click to show hidden items, it does show the GTX 750 and says it is not properly connected (code 45).

My friend and I tried to do some troubleshooting and now the GTX 750 doesn't even show up under hidden devices.

Hello,I've recently noticed that my intel HD 4600 integrated card isn't working good. If I run light games (like Peggle), there's a noticeable lag. I don't think this card is that bad to lag in such a game! I ran 3DMARK05 and compared my results with other people, I'm getting really bad FPS. I then noticed that in GPU-Z, my BIOS Version is UNKNOWN! ? A friend has the exact same laptop, his screenshot: ? This guy is getting double my score (14200 vs 7500) with his core i5 while I've core i7 (both aren't overclocked).. but BIOS version exists in his screenshot.  ? All other guys who have BIOS version known, get really high score. What proves that to me is that I found this one who gets nearly my same score and he also has UNKNOWN BIOS! ? So, I think it's somehow related! I've updated to latest intel drive but that didn't work, I also have the latest bios from Lenovo 3.03 Can I use GPU-Z to extract the VBIOS of my friend and flash it on my device? Or how to deal with this problem... Note: I've tried both drivers from Lenovo and Intel, no difference! Thanks, Thanks,

I have a bit of a weird one.

Sometime ago my old Nvidia GTX560 Ti died. I don't have the ability to replace the card at the moment so I've been using my onboard Intel HD 4600. I must say I'm pretty impressed by what that little GPU on die can do.

Anyway, I'm having some really weird issues.

Currently I'm on driver 10.18.10.3621 Let's call it the New driver. What happens basically is that many games (specifically OpenGL and possibly?? older DX games) have rather severe graphics corruption. Basically textures flicker wildly, sometimes polygons draw at wild angles. It makes me think of some sort of memory corruption.

Also, the FPS can vary wildy, games stutter, etc. Newer games (Dx9+) do not seem to have this issue.

Here is a demo video. Note that it is *far* worse IRL, the recording software is only picking up a small amount of the issues. Games are almost unplayable.

Here is the intel information center details.

Today I tried to install the new BETA driver for my Intel HD 4600 Integrated Graphics unit, however, regardless of installation through through my driver with the extracted driver-ware, or through an .exe nothing seems to work.

I either get the "system does not reach minimum requirements.", or "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer"

At this point i'm at wits end, if anyone could provide some assistance I'd greatly appreciate it.

A:Unable to install new driver for Intel HD 4600 iGPU

Intel only periodically includes code for switchable (dual graphics) laptops with Nvidia graphics. Forget AMD graphics. Seems this driver doesn't have the proper code. Even then depends on the laptop. Acer accepts many generic drivers, not sure about ASUS.

P.S. : The 10.18.10.3496 drivers are the latest Intel release I get to work correctly with my laptop.

Alright, some backstory: This is a used laptop. I insisted on making the salesman install a fresh version of Win7 x64, after he warned me I'd have to reinstall the secondary (M230) GPU's drivers manually when I got home.

So I did just that, and the Catalyst Control Center / Switchable Graphics Settings appeared whenever I right clicked the desktop; indicating my success in installing the drivers.

So just one problem remains, I use the Global Switchable Graphics Settings to set my AMD to run everything, but when I launch up a game, the Intel takes over (which isn't really too bad as it's still a decent GPU, but I'd take 60FPS over 45 any day), and I also can't seem to bring up the Intel's settings anymore.

I DID try disabling the Intel in Device Manager, but that just caused my laptop to use the motherboard's GPU (I think it's called that, it was just shitty).

Now I need to know what I can do to force the system into using my AMD rather than my Intel.

Edit: I fixed it! (I was causing the problem myself but uninstalling the chip in the first place when i should have been disabling it instead)

Ok... I looked for about an hour and decided i would have to make a new thread for my specific problem... so sorry if im making my first post in an odd place

I recently installed a NVIDIA GeForce 5500 FX PCI 256MB DDR video card
followed directions as best i could, and disabled the Intel integrated graphics... but my PC insists on REinstalling the intel integrated graphics controller upon restart... It left me alone for awhile and i could run Counter Strike : Condition Zero moderately well (low frames after playing for over an hour) but after allowing my computer to update itself (while using IE to dowload firefox for a reinstall, IE randomly decided my home page was going to be the microsoft site for the day) and since then no matter what i do the computer insists on trying to reinstall the intel integrated graphics thing...

so my question is, how do I make this stop? how do i keep the computer from giving me the dreaded "found new hardware" bubble when im using a FAR superior (REAL) video card already?

is there something i do in the BIOS (i hope not, i dont like messing around in there) or on the motherboard itself?

i have some basic info about my comp in my signature but im going to use "PolSystemInfo" to find all my PC specs and just copy paste them below, I just hope its enough info to help so... Read more

Hmm that didn't happen to me when I put mines in. Did you install the NVIDIA drivers? Try disabling the onboard in the device manager. That?s what I did. There doesn?t seem to be an option to turn it off in the bios (my bios) maybe there is for you however. It isn?t too complicated. Just simply look for onboard graphics or integrated graphics controller or w/e and select disable, but first try disabling it in the device manager. It should be listed under display adapters -> properties -> disable this device.

You should upgrade to DX9.0c...

Hi...I'm running Win7 Home Premium (64-bit), 8Gb RAM, with the chip:
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology

Graphics is not dedicated and is handled via this Intel chip.
During Windows Updates, MS ones download perfectly.

However, I also get an additional 'optional' update named: 'Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics'

This has never succeeded in downloading.
The MS explanation is always the same: possible interruption from my connection to their server...yet never any interruption when I download MS updates at exactly the same time!

After that, I get the usual 'download Mr Fix It' software which proves itself to be utterly useless in helping me find why the download is not succeeding.

I run Avast anti-virus and Zone Alarm firewall...but I can't figure out if they are somehow preventing the download.

I'd appreciate any help on this....

Many thanks

Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

The name is only Intel HD Graphics Family there isnt a number after it in dxdiag

A:Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

Intel G41 express is the very old, Core 2 equivalent on-motherboard-gpu aka Eaglelake. It only supports up to dx10, it has awful and old drivers, and incomplete opengl support (less apps can run on it). It can idle in recent games like Dota 2 with up to 30fps with everything on low. Key word: idle. Don't even think about playing under more than 15-20fps.

Intel HD Graphics Family is on-cpu-die-gpu aka Sandy Bridge, it's still old now, but does have support for dx11 and opengl, and it has a lot more raw power than x4500(g41), depending on the cpu. It even supports overclocking with sizeable improvements.

Really there is no contest between the two families.

I recently purchased an Acer Veriton (M498G) desktop which has an i5-650 processor, Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and Intel HD Graphics listed as the video card. I also purchased a PNY nVIDIA Quadro FX 380 PCI-E card for improved picture editing and home video viewing and editing. I have already replaced the original 300 wattt power supply to a 430 watt Antec Truepower I had on hand and boosted the RAM to 8 gigs from the original 4.

Question 1) Am I getting any improvement in visual quality or system speed with the Quadro or is it a waste of money and I should just save up to buy a bigger video card? This card was on sale for $115.

If I am getting improvement then I need to ask another question.

Question 2) Instructions for the Quadro installation are as follows...

Im guessing this is the right place. any way ever since i restarted my computer for windows updates. A message keeps coming up when i start my computer saying the error. It also comes up when i use certain programs. One thing i noticed was that ever since i restarted for the update three things aside from the error have happened. Since then My screen is always shakey/twitchy and it really gives me a headach, and a blue icon that says Intel Extream Graphics came up. However whenever i right or left click the icon i get the message then as well. aside from both of those, my screen would occasionally black out and come back up at random intervals. these annoyances are really starting to bug me and if anyone has any aid it would be greatly appreciated.

I just picked up an HP dx2000 desktop computer that has the "Intel Extreme Graphics 2" onboard video card. Im trying to play World of Warcraft on the machine and it is a bit jumpy due to what I assume is the graphics card. The system has 1Gb of RAM so I dont believe it has anything to do with the RAM.

My question is, will my system benifit from a PCI graphics card or is the bus too slow for PCI to show any type of improvement? The only reason I say PCI is because the system does not have an AGP slot.

Thanks!

But how do I check this?

My outlook is a pain....it will not respond to anything I do. Have tried to repair have tried to reinstall....still the same as soon as it opens it just freezes at that point. HELP!!!!!!Click to expand...

When outlook opens it looks for the PST file and this may be corrupt, when you uninstall it doesnt remove the PST file which is in your profile, do a search for the pst file by searching *.pst and then renaming it, then try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Every time when I fully charged my P50 and put it in sleep mode. The fan keeps working like a turbo and it drains out the battery very fast and keepsthe laptop extremely hot. I have been using a Macbook for five years, and I usually just close the laptop and the fan immidiatly stop working and battery won't go down while it is in sleep mode. I am not sure why my P50 has this issue, and I am wondering if anyone has same issue. And the graphics card driver stop responding very often. Anyone knows how to solve these issues?

Hi, everyone. I have an Acer Aspire E3-112 netbook suddenly stop working. The battery is charging when plugged in but when power button was press, power LED no light. I have done some research, and done the following but didn't work.a)  Unplugged charger and remove battery. Pressing down power button for more than 60 sec.b)  Tested RAM and it is still good,c)  strip down everthing and waited for 30 minutes. Then press power button with screen connected. Noticed the CPU is warming up.d)  Tried pressing power button with HDMI cable connecting to my TV,  When I hold down Fn + ESC while powering up with a USB Stick of BIOS files (2GB), the USB drive flashes once every 30 sec. I am convince that this is probably a sign of life and it can still be saved. I noticed that the BIOS update file from Acer website is for Windows mode. Is there anywhere I can download the BIOS file which can be updated on Boot-up (so call freedos). The warranty is over, I am asking for help. Many thanks.
