Q: Yoga 3 Pro 1370

My 2-month-old Yoga 3 just died. While running on battery (54%) it just went black. The on/off button does nothing and plugging it in does nothing (no lights, no nothing). I am in Zurich (bought the unit in New York). I suppose I am under warranty. Where do I go for repair or replacement?

Probably nothing you can do, but did you try one touch recovery? Hopefully someone here can give you some support info. In the US, ideapads are exclusively phone support, no web support offered.

Hello,  I'm in a bit of a pickle, in an attempt to reinstall Windows 8.1 after numerous Windows 10 installation fails, I was successful in that aspect.. However, when I tried to reinstall drivers, especially this one Intel Serial I/O Driver for Windows 8.1 64-bit - Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro-1370 It froze and I had to force restart the computer. To my terrible luck, the computer doesn't boot anymore. I tried looking at it through Ubuntu live cd and it reads the disk and shows the partitions but I cannot write to them or even clear them.  I inferred that the hard drive was the problem, so I've ordered one but then I'm thinking about it again and maybe it had something to do with that driver flashing something to bios. I don't know where to go from here, none of the recoveries work or anything. Please advise

A:Yoga 3 Pro 1370 crash

If you can get into the BIOS, disable Fast Boot and Secure Boot. These would be the only settings in the BIOS withholding boot from a healthy partition.

I am using a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro 1370 running Windows 10. The touchscreen never fails to work but the touchpad however causes a lot of problems. It will randomly stop working when I am using it, often when opening my laptop or when right clicking, but often without any apparent cause as well. One temporary method I have found that somtimes fixes the issue is to go into the HIDs in Device Manager and disable/re-enable the 9CE1 I2C HID Device. Sometimes this option will have a yellow triangle indicating that the device will not start and display this message in the driver properties: This device cannot start. (Code 10)A request for the HID descriptor failed. Other times however there is no acknowledgement of driver issues and attempting to enable the devie will cause the device manager to not respond, restarting my PC in recovery mode after a "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" message and wiping my recent files. I have tried everything from uninstalling/reinstalling the driver, updating the BIOS and disabling the driver to boot in safe mode. When updating the driver software through the device manager, it says the latest version is installed: The driver version is 10.0.10586.0, it says it is from 2006-06-21. Has anyone else had this issue before with their Yoga? Anyone know a solution? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Hi All, So I've had this aesthetically pleasing yoga 3 pro for about a month with the purpose for it to be used as a Uni Laptop.  However I've come across a few issues that I am hoping I can get some help with. Firstly, I've lost all ability to use the touchscreen. Windows Device Managers is seeing it, but I have no way to enable/disable or test. Is there something I am missing? Secodly, through basic use I am finding the CPU and RAM usage well in excess of 80% for a lot of the time, with the system coming to a near grinding halt if I have approximately a dozen chrome tabs open, a couple of office docs and youtube or spotify running....this is a little worrying. Specification wise the laptop should be able to run the with very little hassle. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My laptop suddenly stopped charging. I've checked the adapter, it still provides the USB power to charge my mobile phone. I can also charge my phone from the residual charge in the battery. So the remaining possibilities are that the charger isn't producing 20V power, the wire has gone bad or there's a problem within the laptop.  The replacement charger costs a pretty penny and will take time. Is there any way of checking if the wire or the charger block are working or not ? The alternative of taking it to Lenovo sucks, can't work for a while. ThanksRahul

A:Lenovo Yoga Pro 3 1370 not charging

First, is it still under warranty? Many are.   If it is, call support.   Do you know anyone with another machine where you can borrow an adapter?  The Yoga 700 and Yoga 900 use the same sort of plug except they have a max power draw of 65W.  The 700 and 900 don't work right on the Y. 3 pro's 40-w adapter, but your machine is OK with the larger one.  I looked at the adapter and the power cord and  it would be difficult to test the output with a meter, without shorting something out.  I have all sorts of tools and meters, and I takeapart and fix machines, so if it were mine, I would open the machine and pick up the input leads from inside and test with a meter.  If you are not comfortable doing that kind of thing, don't risk making it worse.  DON'T OPEN UP AND WORK ON A MACHINE THAT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.

I have a Yoga 3 Pro 1370. I am getting "ghost touches" on the touch screen when the lid is closed (I am using an attached monitor and screen). The touch screen should be disabled when the lid is closed. Is there a fix for this? I have searched for other reports of this problem and have found some other posts and links to solutions. However these are all (as far as I can tell)  solutions for similar issues on other models and do not apply to my laptop. Please note that I am looking for a solution for this issue specifically for the Yoga 3 Pro 1370 model.

I bought this Lenovo in November 2015. I have found that it operates really slowly ie. when I open a new tab for internet or open another program, it takes a while falsoor anything to open. Also, it gets really hot around the hinge area so Im not sure if this affects performance.I contacted Lenovo about how hot the Yoga was getting and was told that this slimline model does not have a fan so will get hotter than older style laptops.I chose this model to replace the U330 touch (which worked  fine but had a problem with so John Lewis repalced it with this model).Another issue I have with this model is the battery life seems so short. The U330 Touch lasted mcuh longer, so I keep this one contatcly charging (as advised by Lenovo representative). Why does this Lenvo operate so slowly?  Ive done a wifi speed check and its around 50mbs.Another complaint is the volume is extremely low at maximum, so you can only wwatch a film with headphones to get any decent sound volume. Can anyone help with these issues or is the laptop just not very good. Many thanks.

Folks,This IS a Lenovo board.  I am not writing for the fun of it.  I am a customer both personally and I recommend products and services professionally.  What is my expectation of receiving a customer touchpoint from someone at Lenovo about this problem I am having with a family member's Lenovo Yoga 3?  I want to believe; I want to believe... that Lenovo values the customer experience and is interested in its brand enough to provide some helpful feedback.  Seriously, this is a really smarmy problem that only surfaced after having completing a forced Windows 10 upgrade from Windows 8.1.  I have purchased a brand new charging adapter and cord; I have uninstalled the ?Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" driver completely and rebooted.  I have seen a variety of notes, posts, etc. that indicate a problem; I need a solution and I need it fast (and I'd like it to involve getting this fairly new machine back on track) and not having to buy a replacement either from Lenovo or another manufacturer.   Please help.  Thank you! #CustomerExperience #cX #LenovoYoga3Pro #BatteryNotCharging #NoPower

lenovo yoga 3 pro 1370, 10 months old, upgraded to W10 Sept 2015, installed new drivers for W10, latest BIOS (a6cn58ww), all W10 updates installed. Here is the problem: since a couple of weeks, the system freezes when I move the screen (but only pulling it towards me) when the Broadcom 802.11ac is enabled. If I disable the Broadcom Network adapter in the device manager everything is fine and can move my screen without problems. Once I enable it BOOM ! I have posted this on other forum, and was able to get some relief (for 24h...) by doing the following: 1) I uninstalled the Broadcom driver and also checked the box ?delete the driver software for this device?2) I double clicked on the latest driver (4abe02af) and followed the instructions3) BUT at a certain point during the re-installation it asked me if I wanted to ?uninstall? the driver which I found strange as I had already uninstalled it from the device manager, so I clicked yes and it said ?uninstall complete? or something similar4) Out of curiosity I launched again the installation of new driver, and this time it installed without asking me whether I would uninstall it5) Rebooted the system, the problem disappeared for about 24h, then re-surface and still on.  So I am now facing again the old problem. I have tried all of the above for a couple of time but no avail. I have been adivced to restore the system to an earlier point but this means I will have to reinstall ... Read more

One suggestion..... I'm wondering after you straightened out the driver problem if Windows 10 didn't automatically reinstall the problem driver back again.  Windows 10 is good for giving driver updates whether you want them or not.  Try turning off the auto driver updates, reinstall the new driver and then see if that makes a difference.  This article will explain how to stop the auto updates of drivers......

Hi everyone,

I hope there's hope out there somewhere, because I feel like I've truly tried everything. First off, the problem I'm having breaks down like this: Audio out from my Ensoniq 1370 soundcard is popping and clicking in WinAmp, CoolEdit, and Windows Media Player. I have tried all the memory related solutions like giving it more, reducing hardware accelation, activating hard acceleration, waveout vs. directsound, buffering, etc, and the problem remains exactly the same. The interesting thing is that CD's will play fine (going through the analog cable), and DirectMusic (via dxdiag) plays clear as a bell. I have tried replacing the drivers with a billion others, most of which don't work as they're designed for older systems, and even when I find more recent drivers than the one WinXP provides, the problem remains the same. I have tried moving the soundcard to a different PCI slot (where it has it's own IRQ), and that changed nothing. Is it possible that this soundcard is simply incompatible with my motherboard? The fact that the CD player and DirectMusic are fine gives me great faith that this can be fixed.

Hi there, I purchased an edifier mh 1370 multimedia speaker a while back it has been working fine. I took it to a mates place for a birthday party and when I brought it back to mine and connected it up, it seems that the right speaker out port does not work.. I've plugged the right speaker into the left port and vice versa and both speakers work so it's definitely not the speakers. I've checked my audio software and properties nothing has changed. I've checked the 3.5mm audio connecting cable. I mean all I did was bring it to a party let it run for about 9hours I think and came back used it and the right speaker port doesn't work Would it be an internal problem? if so how would I fix it? I don't know anything about electronics and I really don't wanna buy a new one trying to be handy here haha....

A:Edifier 2.1 speakers mh 1370 speaker out port problem

Plug some headphones or earbuds into the jack to make sure both channels are working. If it sounds okay, your most likely problem is the wires in your speaker system - usually the 3.5 plug or the nearby wire has separated inside the insulation. I would cut the original plug off and solder in a new one from Radio Shack, if you're okay with soldering, or have a repair shop do it if you're not able to.

Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

I have two staff members with different Yoga models, but with the same pen issue. Say, for instance, OneNote is open. The pen doesn't draw or write, but it can select and still be recognized. When I try using an old stylus from an HP Elitebook, it works TOTALLY fine - even the button on the pen functions properly. This suddenly started after months of the Lenovo pens working fine. I thought maybe it was a driver issue, but it can't be as the HP pen works.... I'm thinking it's the pen itself just getting worn down? It looks okay though but may be just a little loose... Hello, we got 2x Try-and-Buy Lenovo Yoga Tablet Laptops (an X1 Yoga and a Yoga 260) to evaluate their suitability for our company, since we intend to upgrade several of our employees laptops. However, ever since we got the devices we noticed on both of them frequent issues with the display and waking from sleep. Very often the laptops won't wake up properly with the screen staying black. In those cases the display-backlight seems to turn on, and I assume the system is running somehow in the background. Putting the computer to sleep again (e.g. by closing the lid) makes the computer wake up properly on the second attempt. Different error in the same category is when a video is running and the laptop is connected to AC - plugging out the AC cord made the screen go black while the media content's sound kept playing. All drivers were updated to the newest version via Lenovo System Update 5.07.0029. Any ideas? I also tried to open a support ticket, but Lenovo wanted to send and install a new display (!). Apparently, that seems like a driver/software issue?! Best regards

The major differences I see, looking at: http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo_Yoga_900_13_inch are: the SK2 has Intel Iris HD 540 graphics, slightly different CPUs and PCIe SSDs.

Regarding driver updates, there's a feature in Lenovo Companion that assists with that.

So three weeks ago, I was working on my Yoga 3 14" and popped to get a drink, I came back and the screen was blank, I assumed it had gone to sleep, so hit a key to wake it up. Nothing! The laptop was plugged in, so I know it hadn't run out of charge. After sheer panic, I contacted Lenovo, who told me that my warranty was out by a month, and that I could send it to them to diagnose, and they would tell me how much to fix, then it was up to me if they did or not.One I wouldn't be happy about not having my laptop for a couple of weeks minimum, but also it had all my private information on.I turned to good old google, and stumbled across this forum, and somebody with the same problem.Their solution was to unscrew the back case of the laptop (as mentioned above, my warranty was already out), remove the battery cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery cable.I did this, and low and behold it worked. Fantastic!Only for it to happen twice more that week, and approx twice a week since. Then yesterday my brother contacts me saying his laptop has died, just won't turn on. His is the Yoga 2 Pro, I told him to bring it to mine, and I would try what I had to do to mine, to his, low and behold, the same solution worked. Seeing as I wasn't the first person to have this issue, and I'm guessing others have used the solution but not commented, this is obviously a fault with the Yoga range. I'm hoping that Lenovo can address this issue, as I fe... I am hhaving difficulty finding an acceptable scaling mix between resolution, system scaling, and edge scaling. At 1080p, 125%, 125%, os navigation is mostly fine, but edge text is way too large. At 1080p, 125%, 100%, edge text is way too small. At all combinations text is inflated (but crisp) in certain elements while fuzzy in others. What scaling combinations work best for you? I am considering returning this to Best Buy and upgrading to a Pro 4 / Book, or even a Mac. The scaling is ruining an otherwise great experience.

Now i find it tough to have a repair/ replacement and i have an exam in a week.please suggest what to do

Hello, Which third party SSD's could be installed in the new Yoga 700-14ISK? Is a 2.5 inch 7mm SSd compatible? or only 5mm is supported? Thanks

A:Yoga 700 SSD

5mm SSD's aren't that easy to find, especially in 512GB or 1TB sizes. I think i'm going to buy a Yoga 700 aswell and get a 512GB mSATA with an adapter instead of trying to squeze a 7mm in there

I am doing a masters in business so don't need the laptop for photo/ video editing etc. Mainly for excel, reading and taking lecture notes, research and writing essays.  I have narrowed it down to Yoga 260 & Yoga 900. I like that they are both hybrids and easy to transport. I was hoping someone could explain the main differences between these two and which one you would suggest for what I will be using it for. I was looking at the:- Yoga 260 12.5" i7-6500U, 2.5 / 3.1 GHz- Yoga 900 13 2.6GHz i7-6600U 13.3" 3200 x 1800pixels TouchscreenThank you

Welcome to the forums!

In the past, if no cleaning compounds have worked, I've resorted to using a melamine pad and warm water to take it off the surface. As it is abrasive, you have to be aware that it's not recommended to do this often. However, if you have an oily layer built up, this'll take care of it!

Dear all,I hate my new acer laptop (worst keyboard ever made) and have narrowed my choice to the Lenovo Yoga X1. Your help in choosing options would be appreciated. I'd like to know if people thought it was worth it in terms of quality (ie scaling issues) and battery life to get the 1440p resolution versus the 1080p (the IPS version, not OLED) of 1440p. Is it worth it to get the OLED version if it can even be found (I can't even configure this on the web) I'd like to know if it is worth it to upgrade from the SATA to the NVMe hard drives in real life use I don't play games but mainly use web, citrix reciever, stock programs like thinkorswim thanks for your help Collin

After 2 months, checked mulitiple reviews and feedbacks, I bought the X1 yoga to replace my X230 (yeah?) Apperance-wise , I can't complain, really, this is exactly what I'm looking for. battery life ain't bad, with comfortable setting, I have roughly 9 hrs (OMG!) With/without external power, I ran the FFXIV benchmark, the score isn't bad as well. So why I start this post? because the SSD, somehow , I can feel the system is lagging because some whatever reason, and I use my laptop to do still image raw editing ... from the point import the files to the laptop, I can see the transfer rate is only about 60MB/s (at home my primary system, can do minimum 130~140MB/s, with same card reader attach to USB3.0) So what happened ? such great laptop came with a crappy SSD ? looked up online, this SSD with write speed up to 140MB/s ? WTH ? I thought 100~140MB/s are the speed for those aged 7.2k rpm traditional HDD ? Well, should I be glad I only order the 128GB module, because the built your own charge $300~400 for 500GB SSD upgrade, and I just bought one from Crucial , the MX200 500GB M.2 2280 cost $150 ? (and with 3 years warranty) I can't blame the whole laptop, but Lenovo should pick a better parts , especially storage is quite important as part of this laptop, isn't it ? thanks

Which in the age of online buying is insane(it goes for other specs aswell). There are many many product reference numbers out there and many of them not mentioned in Product Specifications Reference(PSREF) (us and we) . "20CDS05S00" for examle, ofcourse, the model im looking to buy online.  (probably a model aimed to sell at the "new" walmart in mozambique). I, and sure manny others, would greatly appreciate if Lenovo people got it together and made it clear what is what to clients that don't have the luxory of time for going to a 6 story shop and trying all of the 362 models. In great appreciation of an answer or any type of clarification, professional artist, long time thinkpad user(90's ibm), long time tablet user(x200 as first from the thinkpad line), Casper ps.: maybe the answer is obvious and this is a completely illegit rant, but im sorry, i just can't seem to find it.

I've had it for a bit under a month, and apart from an occasionally sketchy touchscreen for the first week or so, it's been perfect.  I have a crazy job where I'm in a different location at least every week, sometimes every day, and my duties vary from teaching to materials creation to curriculum development to programming to IT. Unfortunately, I got home last night, and it wouldn't turn on.  Fine; I figured that maybe the battery was dead.  Plugged it in, and still no joy, but hey, I figured maybe it wouldn't start until it hit a certain minimum charge level (a la many smartphones).  So I left it charging overnight, packed it when I went to work this morning, got here, and... it still won't start. Indicators/symptoms: The only I/O that appears to be working is the charge indicator (the small circular light next to the power button) and the power button light. If I plug in the power, the small circular light stays on (white) until I unplug it. Plugging in the power also sometimes causes the power light to turn on (again, white), and it will stay on (regardless of whether it's plugged in) until I force power-off via holding the power button. Nothing else works/responds.  The fans do not turn on, the caps lock light does not light up, the keyboard backlight can not be turned on.  Nothing.  As far as I can tell, the computer isn't even on -- only the power light.  I have tried every hotkey (and other key) on t... I thought a SSD was suppose to be quiet...well my yoga 900 fan seems to be running quite a lot and there is a high pitch squeal to it (quietish high pitch squeal but still annoying).  How do I know if this is a return issue or something typical? Has anyone else had this problem? Returning a computer is a huge pain so I dont' want to do this just in case.  Only want to return it if something is indeed wrong with it.

A:Yoga 900 - fan noise

I hear the fan kicking on when I'm playing games or rendering videos, otherwise, its basically silent. Also when charging, I hear it kick on. Check your background processes, might have something running. Also, make sure you're not on high performance mode.

My S5 Yoga 15 won't turn on When I press and hold the power button, the red light comes on only after I let go of the power button, and it stays on for only 5 seconds.Screen never illuminates, fan doesn't twitch or move. I've reseated all cables, tried removing RAM, moving the sticks around. Even with RAM removed, the thinkpad does the same behavior. Pressing the tact switch only seems to reset the system. I've removed the CMOS battery and main battery to reset the CMOS settings. And that doesn't work either. The notebook is just over a year old.

Several people have asked about using the Samsung 1TB EVO mSATA SSD (840 EVO MZ-MTE1T0BW) with the Yoga 13 and Yoga 2 Pro, but after hours of searching I can't find a definitive report that either a) it works! or b) specific reason why it doesn't work. I purchased this mSATA drive and had a professional install it into my new Yogo 2 Pro i7, but I tap the "recovery/bios" button next to my power button, boot into the BIOS, and see that the SSD hard drive is not recognized. I've been a PowerBook/MacBook user for the last 15 years, but the 3200x1800px touch screen, 2 in 1 touch Win 8.1 interface, and mSATA option that I thought would allow a 1TB connection attracted me away from my 11" MBA with 500GB SSD. Just a bit bigger, big heavier, but far more powerful... I'm very happy to move on to a new environment, just hope that I can get this SSD working. Lenovo's authorized service center here in Shanghai claims that the 256GB SSD that my 8GB i7 Yoga 2 Pro shipped with is the maximum sized SSD that will work in my laptop, and claims that this is because it's the "chinese version" even though my BIOS is in english... There is tons of information online that almost answers my question, for example: Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Hardware Maintance Manual (pdf) only lists drives up to 512GB, the largest drive listed is the Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD (not the Samsung EVO series or the Crucial 512GB)Amazon reviewer Adam C reports he's using the Samsung 256GB ... A:1TB msata SSD in Yoga 2 Pro?

I've done some additional testing on this today. First, I purchased an external mSATA SSD enclosure and mounted my 1TB Samsung (840 EVO MZ-MTE1T0BW) inside the enclosure, connect via USB3, and other machines read it just fine. So my 1TB drive is definitely good. No problem here --- yet that drive still isn't recognized by my Lenovo Bios. Second, I purchased a 512GB mSATA SSD, the Samsung PM841-512GB mSATA SSD, the exact model number listed in the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Hardware Maintance Manual (pdf), but this drive isn't recognized by my BIOS either, even though this drive also works fine inside my external mSATA SSD enclosure. Third, I installed a 128GB mSATA SSD into my Yoga 2 Pro and it's immediately recognized. When I switch back to the 256GB mSATA SSD that came with my Yoga 2 Pro, of course it's still recognized and works just fine. Product Name: Lenovo Yoga 2 ProBios Version: 76CN31WW (seems to be most current version)EC Version: 76EC25WW (why doesn't embedded controller version match BIOS version?)CPU: Intel(r) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPUSystem Memory: 8192MBHard Disk: Unrecognized (when I use 512GB or 1TB mSATA SSD)Windows License: STD I've isolated that it's not a bad SSD, and it's not a problem with the way the SSD is installed. just ordered my "loaded" P40 and plan to test it against a Surface Pro 4 i7. I bet the decision of which one to keep will come down to screen quality (Surface Pro) vs keyboard quality and hopefully better thermal design (P40). my usual testing involves doing a semi-complex filtered render video in Premiere. In thin laptops whenever the GPU kicks in, the computer under powers the CPU to keep temperature down. hopefully P40 handles it well. I draw some comfort there are very few P40 posts here.  As a side note, I think lenovo could improve their website sale process a lot; ordering a "topseller" or suggested confg and have to wait 3-5 business days for shipment seems excessive. Microsoft, Apple and many other offer next business day.

You can try to follow this basic trouble shooting guide for USB failure.
Else if an automatic update tried changing some settings aside from doing a system restore you can try to download this microsoft hotfix for this issue .

I am seeing double letterss when I am typing and Im leaving themm in the post so you can see how often it happens. I am not a heavy typer by anymeans and it happens simotanously as the letter is typed.  I have installed the BIOS and driver updates with the lenovo app and also updated my windows 10 completly. The trackpad update really fixed alot of scrolling issues and hopefully another one can fix these double letters. Itss not the hardware in the keyboard right? Hopefully not because I llove this computer.  Anyone else having these issues???

My Yoga 2 Pro was in sleep mode and when I tried to turn it on again, I got the power light and keyboard simultaneously blinking every 5 seconds as described in various sites around the web or as seen on Youtube.  I tried the different solutions of:1.  unplugging battery 2.  unplugging battery and cmos overnight3.  holding power button for various periods of time Nothing seems to work.  Interestingly, I did try to reboot holding down Function+R key and that resulted in power light staying on and amber orange battery indicator blinking with keyboard.  However, the keyboard light will stay on for a few seconds before turning off and then another few seconds before turning on again.  So at least I got a different response.  Also, I did get the fans to start running on the boot up once but was not able to replicate after trying the function+R. My questions:1.  What can I do to resolve it (seems like a common issue and hard for me to believe that the motherboard is busted)?2.  What is the root cause?  Is it a bad BIOS?  I did upgrade to Windows 10 a month or so ago so not sure if this caused something.3.  If a bad bios, can I boot to the correct bios on a usb stick?4.  Should I try rebooting to a usb in general for windows 10?5.  Should I reboot without the solid state drive not plugged in?  I tried once and it did nothing. And yes, my warranty ran out also.  I love the laptop ... Hello, i just recently bought Yoga 500 14ISK with windows 10. However the screen occasionally and randomly goes black during work and the only solution is to switch it off with power button and switch it on again. When in black screen, computer still works (fans, music, etc.) I tried to close the laptop to put it into a sleep mode and open it again-screen works but after entering my password it goes black again in a second.I was able to solve all the other issues(high CPU, RAM and disku usage) but this one is killing me. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

A:Yoga 500 14ISK

Hey there.I just got a Yoga 500-14ISK too and I ran into a thread (here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-100-305-500-Edge/FLex-3-Video-card-Mathematical-Operatio... where guys were having similar issues, as well as the Lenovo Companion app detecting hardware errors. I don't have black screen issues but it does tell m I have an Intel HD 520 hardware problem. What they suggested is that the laptop is "too new" for the drivers and Lenovo has acknowledged the issues. (see here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht105222) Some people fixed the black screen problem by manually installing these drivers:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25620/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40-6th...Hope this helps!

Hello. For the last few weeks, I have been dealing with an issue of my Yoga 13 sometimes not waking up after I have put it into sleep mode.  I sort of ignored, as my system is out of the warranty period and I cannot afford a full-cost repair.  Today, it would not wake up from sleep mode, so as usual, I did a hard restart (holding the power button until the system turned off and then after a minute or so, powering it on normally).  This time, the hard restart did not work.  When I powered the system on, the power and caps lock, and battery lights/buttons turn on momentarily and the fan turns on, but then they all go off.  Usually after that, the power light will come back on intermittenly, along with the fan, and then go off after a while.  This will continue like this almost indefinitely. Nothing will ever show in the screen.  The battery seems to charge just fine, as the battery light recognizes whether or not the charger is plugged in and the system had a low battery light when this started earlier today, but has since charged, from having it plugged in.  I have tried the Novo button - it does the same thing as a regular power on.  I have tried these options while having the system plugged in or unplugged.  I am really stumped here and would appreciate any thoughts on what this could be.  I have seen lots of other, somewhat similar forum threads, but there is usually a detail or two that are different. I really hop... A:Yoga 13 will not boot up

By the way, I just got off the phone with Lenovo tech support. They had me go through resetting the system several times and trying the Novo button, but since the caps lock button does not work, they said that this is most likely the Motherboard, CPU, or the LCD screen. Any thoughts on how I can narrow it down to which it might be?

Bought it new, specs are:
1.8 Ghz Core i7, 8 GB RAM, 250 GB SSD, 3200 x 1800 display
I'd like to check out SB or SP4, but yeah, money's a factor. If selling the YP2, I doubt I'd get half of what I paid for it.

A:Should I replace Yoga 2 Pro?

I would hang onto it, its still a perfectly fine computer. (I have a ThinkPad Yoga, which is similar under the hood, although it may be a generation off)
At most I'd demo the SB or SP4 in person somewhere, but I wouldn't try to actually get it and all.

Hi,I know this topic appeared a few times before on this forum but I am really confused especially after a Lenovo employee told me via pohne I could basically use any stylus on the Lenovo Yoga 510. I would be very grateful if someone could help me.I read this article:http://www.howtogeek.com/177376/not-all-tablet-styluses-are-equal-capacitive-wacom-and-bluetooth-exp...As i figured Lenovo Yoga 510 has a different touchscreen (no wacom technology, no digitizer?) than f.e. Yoga 460, which is much more expensive. Is that correct? Is that why I can not use f.e. the ThinkPad Stylus? Or was the employee right and it doesen't matter?if not, is there any kind of alternative for the Yoga 510 apart from the cheap pens with the thick tip? I want something that is somewhat precise. I saw pens with a battery that appear to be capacitive by generating a small electromagnetic field like your finger but have a thin tip. Are these the only alternative for Yoga 510? Does the pen for Lenovo Think Pad definitely not work? What about the pens that comunicate via bluetooth mentioned in the article? Could they be an alternative for the Yoga 510?If there is no real solution for Yoga 510 and there was a Lenovo Laptop with a similar price than Yoga 510, with similar performance and with digitizer I would consider changing mine but from what I saw the notebooks with digitizer are either much more expensive (like Yoga 460) or have a lower performance (like yoga book) is that correct?Thank you very much.

Just bought the Lenovo Yoga 710-14isk 80ty --- THIS FAN NEVER SHUTS OFF! I saved all this money for a fan that not only doesn't shut off, but I cannot Skype clients or conduct a webinar because the fan noise interferes with the microphone. I've tried EVERYTHING. Scouting these forums ... updated drivers ... nothing. Still the same. I'm ready to send it back. I'd appreciate someone from Lenovo replying to this with a *solution*!!!! Please don't repeat the malware mantra. Everyone knows it is not malware. Lenovo has a horrible design and engineering issue, and it must be resolved. Please reply or I'm about to take this to the executive team with some serious letters, as well as moving to the consumer protection path.
