i upgraded from a reltek dualband wifi /bluetooth for the same issue of terrible bluetooth crackling.
and now my Intel dualband AC 7260 bluetooth is similar.
but what really bothers me is that at first as in likr the first week the bluetooth on my Intel dualband AC 7260 was amazing! working as its supposed to , i could go to the hallway of my house and be connected clear and no latency. but now a days its like before and sometimes worse. i have to be literally 1ft and sit at a angle for the bluetooth to be good. some days and places its good and others its terrible. it seems to be really bad at work( i starting to think its a interference issue. but even at home its semi bad, theres times where if i stand up and move away form the laptop my headset says out of range trying to connect, also sometimes if i cover a certain spot on my laptop it cuts off, same with my bluetooth speaker. and my devices are just fine because when i connect them to my phone they work perfect. also works well with my AUkey. i tried different drivers to no avail what can do?

No. Sorry. That model still has the HP BIOS whitelist which will prevent the laptop from booting if anything other than officially sanctioned wireless cards are installed. None of the approved devices is an ac type receiver. Some are combination wifi/bluetooth. Post back if you are interested in locating and installing one of them.

Over the past couple weeks I get a notification to update the Intel 8260/7260 Bluetooth device on my Latitude E5540 from driver updates at Dell (Dell Command Update). The update downloads ok and starts to install, then a black mini window comes up like the old dos window but without a prompt and after a few minutes or secs the installation stops and I get a message saying it failed.  This has happened about 3-4 times over the past 2 weeks.  Any advice as to what can be done?  Thank you.

Hello, Since a few weeks,  I haven't been able to use my bluetooth speaker anymore. I used to simply connect (Bluetooth Devices -> My speaker -> Services -> Listen to music) but the "Listen to music" link is now grey and disabled : impossible to click it.I investigated a bit and realized that the "Intel Wireless Bluetooth" driver was not correctly installed. I tried to uninstall, repair, reinstall it, but couldn't do any of these actions, I always got an error message near the end of the installation process.I'm pretty sure this is the problem : I checked the device manager and discovered 16 "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" with a warning icon in the "Other devices" category ... Doesn't look good, right ? Is anyone struggling with the same issues ? Have you found a way to fix it ? Thanks a lot for any help. Best, Sylvain E.K.

I want to change my Atheros wi-fi network card with this  Intel AC 7260. Somebody can tell my if i need to upgrade my BIOS for my model to install this card?

A:Wireless Intel AC 7260 network card

We need the full model number but updating the BIOS will not enable the use of any additional wireless cards. HP did in the past use a whitelist which dictates that you can only use certain specific models and the relevant question is whether your laptop is pre- or post- whitelist. Generally the cutoff is around January 1, 2014 as the build date.

Hey guys and girls. First post in the forum here I'm about to upgrade some parts on my Pav G6 1344sa, namely replace the HDD with a SSD and replace the DVD drive with the HDD, replace the tired keyboard for a new one and upgrade the wifi card for a 5G dual band so i can untilize the speed of my newly installed fibre broadband. After a bit of research i have read there maybe issues getting the Intel AC 7260 card i just ordered to work in this notebook. Can anyone confirm if it will work? I read that some users have used a tweak of covering pin 20 and/or pin 51 with tape to make it compatible, anyone tried this or can explain how this works? Cheers

A:Intel AC 7260 Dual band wi-fi card compatibility

No it will not work and the covering of the pins is actually a Lenovo trick that I have never seen anybody recommend for an HP. I would think it will not work since the problem is a whitelist. The card has to prove to the BIOS what it is, not hide what it is from the BIOS so stopping the identification data from being read will just cause the wifi card to be rejected by the BIOS. As stated, there is a BIOS whitelist and only the specific HP branded wifi cards originally offered with the laptop will pass and allow the system to boot past BIOS. If you want that list just post back.

I have an Acer 11.6" Aspire One AO751H netbook. I want to upgrade the wireless-G to N. This model takes the half size mini pci-e cards. I just recently purchased the Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 card. Installed it yesterday, booted the computer, and so far so good. It recognized the card right away and the driver installation was successful. The wifi activity light works, the card is recognized, but it is unable to detect any networks. It just flashes that little balloon at the bottom saying "wireless networks unavailable". Try to refresh the network list, and i still get nothing. I tried turning the card off, then on again, but nothing. I checked on the driver in Device Manager, and it says it is functioning properly.

I have the most up-to-date BIOS and I am running 32-bit XP Pro (downgraded from the factory installed VISTA). I was wondering if maybe there was an issue with the antennas? The 5300 card has 3 antenna inputs, but the laptop only has two antennas. I was told on numerous forums that it would still function fine with only two antennas, however. I obtained the most up-to-date driver for the card right from intel's website and it installed without any issues at all. Does anyone have any input on to why this card seems to have installed fine, but cannot detect wireless networks? Should I try an older driver? I know many people have upgraded the wifi in this Aspire Ones, so I can't see it simply being incompatible.

Hi ssor777 and Welcome to SF,

Is this a work laptop? It is configured in a domain network, it has a DNS suffix of .local.

Another thing...you are using Open DNS's, you may set it back to 'Obtain DNS Server Automatically' from your Wireless setting.

Install and run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector.
Click on the 'Show Networks' to display all wireless networks on the xirrus icon on your desktop if you have one running in a corner. Tap the Printscreen key on your keyboard, open up Paint then choose Edit from the Menu and select Paste, then SAVE it. Upload and attached on your next Post.

I'm looking at some different cards on ebay. The only half size cards I can find that are being sold from people located in the U.S. are pulled from Dell computers. It's eithe buy one of these cards, or spend $20 more on any other website....

My first question is, will it work in my aspire one (I know the 5300 will work, just didn't know if the "Dell version" had anything special too it). Also, I have been looking at these cards all over the internet and I've probably seen about 3 or 4 cards now, all intel 5300, but with different TA #s and other different numbers. I'm not sure if this is just because some were pulled from dells and others are just OEM intel models, but I just want to make sure they are all the same. For example, are these two cards the same?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300359646009&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

They both have the same model numbers, but thats about it. One even says VPro, while the other one says nothing. Are they the same? thanks.

A:Intel 5300 half card

What make and model of computer are you planning on installing it in? The reason I ask is many makers limit the compatibility of their machines in the BIOS to specific wireless cards. I have an HP and Toshiba here that have 802.11g cards, and I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to an 802.11n card. Found the "compatible" Dell card for a good price and picked it up. Both machines hang during the POST and complain about an unsupported wireless card and refuse to boot!

Be careful out there, you may have a paperweight like I do.

I believe the X240 is shipped with the Bluetooth radio turned off.  To turn it on try Fn + F8.  That should bring up a screen that controls the power settings for the wireless radios.  If the bluetooth radio status is off, click on the button to the right to turn the radio on.  That should enable bluetooth on your laptop. If the bluetooth radio status is already on and not working then a call to tech support is in order.

That would not surprise anyone with Hyper-V, that the Broadcom chipset is causing it to crash. I have two laptops with the 7260 mini-PCIe cards in them and have had zero issues. I was wondering as I've got 2 spare slot Mini PCI-Express free on my laptop, if such Intel Card (ITM) could fit inside...This technology is quite not expensive actually.

The mini PCI-E is very ease to access under my keyboard and it just have to be inserted, and at system reboot, Windows7 will recognize straight that card and the proper Intel Turbo drivers.

It does act like "Windows ReadyBoost" & "Windows ReadyDrive" under 7 and Vista...so the system will load faster....boost the disk cache, load faster Apps & perform battery improvement.

Work on "Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset familly" & "Mobile Intel 4 Express Chip Familly".

-1 gb (RD, RB, no software pinning),
-2gb (RD, RB, no software pinning),
-4gb (RD, no RB, software pinning).

Any experience in return? or it is just like inserting a SD Card in the Card Reader to Ready Boost?

Hi: You can't use an Intel wireless card in a computer with AMD hardware.  That is why it doesn't work.  And there is nothing you can do to make it work. Plus your notebook has to have 2 wireless antennas or you can't upgrade the wireless card at all unless you take the whole notebook apart including the display panel to add a second antenna. If your notebook has two antennas, and if you want a dual band wireless N card, you need to get a Broadcom one. Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2×2 Wi-Fi Adapter, Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter --  HP Part # 730668-001

guys this one has me stumped cold. Dell Inspiron laptop, very clean software wise, had original mini-card [internal] which could not detect any wifi networks - known good wifi AP's. All the windows checked showed the device working properly but I finally replaced it with one of the better "n" cards out there. Same thing all over again. Put it right next to a working AP, cannot detect a thing. Antennae is hooked up properly.

If I plug a good WIFI stick into USB, it works immediately, no drama.

I have no idea what is preventing this from detecting anything. What should I be looking for?

A:WLAN Mini-card Good, but cannot detect WIFI ??

Hi zapp22,

It appears that the 'Wireless Card' is currently 'Disabled'; please check its status in 'BIOS' and 'enable' it if needed. To access 'BIOS' you may follow the steps listed below:
- Power off the laptop > Power it back on and at 'Dell splash screen', repeatedly tap 'F 2 key' (BIOS screen should appear) > Usually 'Dell Inspiron' laptops have a 'category' named 'Advanced' > Ensure that WLAN is enabled > 'Save Settings' and 'Exit'
(Note: BIOS setup may vary based on different laptop models)

If the wireless card still does not detect any networks in 'Windows', try tapping <Function><F2> or only <F2> if the previous key combination does not work. This is the 'radio control' for the 'Wireless Card' installed in the system.

Hope this helps. Do reply with the finding; would be glad to assist.

Hi

My motherboard got a port called Mini PCIE. It looks similar to the standard PCIE port but is much smaller (I guess that's why it's called mini ) AND it appears to be tilted 90 degrees to the right if I'm right. So I would have to place the card vertically. Space seems to be limited. Of course I could be wrong on that.

Board type is MSI AM1i

Photo is below. The port in question is just next to the two SATA data ports. (actually on the left, in the second pictures)
I'd like to install a Wifi card there. Please tell me. How and where? Where am I supposed to place the antennas? Do you know any good cards? I didn't buy the card yet, only the motherboard

Thanks a lot

^^ The mini PCIE port is just above (again, next to the white-blue capacitors and left to the sata ports), and lies vertically in the picture with a number tag written to it

Hi all,

I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro running Windows 8.1 x64 which I have switched the wifi card in to an Intel 7260 (the AC version).

The WiFi does a lot of weird things and I have Intel driver 17.1.0.19 installed, with Windows managing networks.

1) Windows doesn't seem to remember SSID security keys. Sometimes it does, sometimes I get prompted for keys for no reason.

2) After resuming from sleep, the card will say it is connecting to a network but it never will. I can turn WiFi off and back on and it still won't connect. The only thing that works is either a reboot, or disabling the WiFi connection and re-enabling. Then, it connects right away.

I have uninstalled Intel drivers and reinstalled with the same results. Any ideas?

A:Intel Wireless 7260 AC - Won't Reconnect After Sleep

It's definitely a driver issue. Try the 16.6.0.8 drivers here: Intel® Download Center
which is known to be a good driver for many 7260 users

A:Upgrade possible to Intel AC 7260 802.11ac Wi-Fi ? HP Eliteb...

No AC adapters will work. Only the wifi cards that are on the whitelist which is the ones in the Manual and only the HP Part No. versions of those.  The Intel cards are limited to HP Part No. versions contrary to the Wicki guy's statements. There are a couple 5ghz options, just not 802.11ac cards. Occasionally cards that are not in the manual will somehow work and I know there is a 7260N which a lot of people confuse for the 7260ac card. I know the 7260AC will NOT work as we have had prior posts here from people that tried it but it would not shock me if a 7260N card would work. Can't promise, though. This is largely a guessing game since the actual whitelist itself has never been made public.

I know in the past it was noted that you could not install these cards in a whitelist enabled BIOS, but has HP changed or updated the ability to install these cards on these specific older computers? If not, PLEASE HP, help your existing users. Please remove the whitelist from these older BIOS, specifically the ELITEBOOK 8560W. Thanks.

A:Intel wireless-ac 7260 with Elitebook 8560w

You still have the whitelist. It is not present in computers having an Intel Core 4th gen and higher CPU, but yours is second gen so the whitelist is still a problem for you. People have been asking for "de-whitelisted" BIOS for these machines for years and it has never happened so I can't hold out any hope it ever will.  These two devices will work: Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 802.11 3x3 a/g/n WiFi Adapter 572511-001Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205, 2x2 a/b/g/n WiFi Adapter 631954-001 The 6300 takes 3 antenna and the 6205 only two. My sons' ThinkPad Yoga is extremelly slow when surfing the web. Can it be that the original wireless card does not support current wireless technology standards? Is there a recommended wireless card upgrade for this model? The hard drive is almost empty, he only uses it for college work and basically uses MS Office products. No gaming applications in this box. See system specs attached. I updated all the drivers. Any ideas?

Hey guys, I just upgraded the wireless card in my laptop to the Intel AC1200 7260.HMWWB. Based on my research, I thought this card would be pretty much backward compatible with every router specs... im still using a DLink DI-624. I see the available connection but.. cant connect. So it almost seems that my laptop's wireless is in worse shape now.. before it was sporadic but now with the updated and recommended card, I cant connect. Could this be an incompatibility issue with my router?

Networking is something I dont have much experience in so Im hoping someone here can assist me a bit...

A:Will Intel AC1200 (7260.HMWWB) work with D-Link 624?

Yes it's fairly typical to have compatibility problems between the newer wireless ac and older n devices.

I see these problems here all the time although it seems that some here refuse to believe it despite seeing evidence to the contrary over and over again.

I've seen the problem with some of my own hardware not to mention hundreds of similar complaints on these forums.

Updating the firmware on the router might help in this case.

Hello there,
I got a new laptop recently, and installed OpenVPN on it. The system started to crash with errors relating to the network driver(Netwbw02.sys IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) intermittently. Tried to reinstall both OpenVPN and network driver downloaded from Intel's site. Uninstalled OpenVPN client and the crash disappears.

Thanks very much for the help.

A:BSOD possibly from Intel AC 7260 with OpenVPN installed

Hi ChickenJason123 & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.

Let's take a look at the stack -

Code:

04 ffffd001`235e9d40 00000000`00000000 Netwbw02+0x1c5679

So, it seems the problem is being caused by the "Netwbw02.sys" which is the Intel Wireless Network Adapter. Let's take a look at the 3rd party drivers present on the system -

I have just purchased a new HP Pavilion and  want to upgrade the wireless wlan card. This is a great PC and has a Intel Core 4 Gen i7 and so far works good when connected to my LAN via Cat6. I am having issues pulling large CAD files and in looking over the service manual the only option listed for a duel band card is a old N Intel 3160 (1X1) from 2013. I Contacted Intel and was informed that the card should work but that HP tends to Whitelist there BIOS in order to keep customers from upgraded there workstations. The issue I am having is the the Intel 7260 is not listed in my service manual BUT is currently available as a driver download on the support site listed as a Intel 7260/3160 driver. Does anyone know if this product is whitelisted on the BIOS? A:Intel dual band wireless-ac 7260 Compatability

Hi: From the several posts I have read on the forum you should have no problem installing any wireless card you want in your notebook, as it appears that HP has done away with the BIOS whitelisting of wireless cards. Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook. Memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=7582630& Now, I have some bad news for you... You will void the warranty if you install a wireless card or memory yourself. Unfortunately, you have to pretty much take the whole notebook apart to get to the hard drive, memory and wireless card.  You can refer to chapters 5 and 6 of the service manual for the removal and replacement procedures.

Just wondering if I have to do anything (config/setup) with the Intel internal wireless adapter to make it work at ac speed. I have been to device manager and check but it doesn't seem to have any option for ac mode.

T440S with Windows 8.1.  Bluetooth worked fine for about a month but now the device manager reports, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)."  I have tried disabling and then enabling the device, but within a few seconds of enabling, the error returns and the device is stopped.  I have also tried uninstalling the device, then doing a scan for new hardware, which reinstalls the device, and again after a few second delay, the device is stopped with the same error again. When the problem first started, I was in the middle of using my bluetooth mouse.  There was not any installation or update immediately prior to the problem. Searching the web reveals many posts related to Intel's 7260 and bluetooth problems, but of course Intel refers everyone to the manufacturer for such issues.  Searching here for bluetooth and code 43 returns nothing.  Might this be a hardware failure?  What else?

I am building a car PC out of an AMD E350 motherboard (link below...), which has mini PCIe & SO-DIMM slots as opposed to standard expansions & RAM. It is a simple, low power system, ideal for the application. I believe Win8 is the perfect platform for the application as well, since it works nicely with a touchscreen-oriented interface.

I bought a WiFi/bluetooth combo card off of eBay (link also below), but thus far, the WiFi isn't working. The BT works fine, but the wireless does not.

I verified that the driver is installed & working in Device Manager, but Windows does not give me the option to connect to a wireless network. In my Network Connections dialog, it only shows the wired LAN and the BT.

I am willing to accept the fact that the wireless driver is not compatible with Win8, but also wonder if it is a problem with the card?

A:Trouble with WiFi/Bluetooth card

*update*

Actually, I just double checked, and the driver is NOT installed for the Wi-Fi card. I was looking at the driver for the regular LAN controller. I was tricked because it is a MoBo integrated LAN controller, but the driver labels it as a Realtek PCIe.

I did download the driver exe from Realtek and I also tried the one from HP. Neither seems to load the WiFi functionality of this card.

Also, if it helps, the card is a Realtek branded for certain HP laptops.

My computer is running on Windows 7 Professional 32bit. It has worked fine for the last 2 years. But recently, my wifi card has started me giving me problems. It detects the wireless networks but connects to them only for around 10-15 minutes after which the connection is not even visible in the list. Then after 30-40 minutes, it can connect but the same problem is there.

Also, I tried to make my own ad-hoc connections and saved them. These connections do work and my friends are able to connect to it and the connection remained active for hours. I did it to check whether the Wifi card is working or not. It does work but only with the outgoing connections that are made by my computer. The networks that in range and are giving problem with my wifi card are working fine for my friends. So, I guess it is not the network's problem.

When I tried troubleshooting it, it gave the problem 'Problem with wireless adapter or access point'. I also tried installing all different driver versions and rollbacking to the default version for my wireless card but the same problem is there. Although in device manager, It says the device is working properly.

Please help me in solving this problem. Exact name of WiFi Card in Device Manager- Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN

The same complaints and problems with this 5100AGN adaptor has been around for a long time.

There are countless threads about this on the internet. It seems that disabling the 802.11n Only setting in the routers settings and running in mixed wireless mode can help. Updating the drivers can also help, try the Intel site. > Intel? Driver Update Utility

There are plenty of long threads about this ongoing problem with some possible solutions, so your not alone.

i have been through about 3 wifi cards in the spand of 2 laptops looking for the best range and speed without the interference. i had a realtek dualband wifi card with bluetooth and i sold that to get a a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 expecting that this would be the top of the line in wifi standards. i mainly sold my realtek because a issue with buletooth, if im using the wifi and i connect my bluetooth headset to the laptop the sound would be choppy and laggy. so when i got my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 i was amazed that this "was" no longer the issue. i connected my HBS-900 and walked out my apartment and down the hall and the bluetooth was clean! but it seems that now perhaps driver change the bluetooth on my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 is also bad. i cant even step 2 feet away from my laptop without it cracking to hell, at 3 feet and not facing the laptop i disconnect. it was never like that before and i know its not my headset because when i connect it to my phone its flawless, and i connected another bluetooth adapter and tried and its fine. the issue is that when the wifi is on theirs too much interference and yes when i connect to a 5g network the issue is greatly reduced but for me 5g is mostly not a option. i was wondering if theirs a such thing as a shielded internal wifi? wouldn't think so... i would just love if i could use the bluetooth and the wifi flawlessly. i already for another reason plan to get a Alfa AC1200 external wifi adapter... Just finished replacing the DC plug on my Y460P. Every time I tried to plug in external power the internal female receptical moved into the case making it impossible to charge. After spending $7 on a complete new plug assembly I ended up having to glue it to the inside of the case to hold it in place when the charger was inserted. Seems a common problem and fix. Anyway, I can once again recharge my battery. For reasons unknown during the disassembly/reassembly my WiFi card stopped working. I've got the standard issue Intel N-1000. Device manager shows it working properly but when I access the adapter through the network connections I find the on-screen slider in the off position. Clicking the slider moves it to on momentarily only to have it quickly return to off.  The position of the external Wifi switch makes no difference. I've tried booting the machine with the card removed. Checking device manager w/o the card shows (as expected) the card missing but no other errors. Reinstalling the card and rebooting causes the card to reappear in device manager but still showing as off in network connections. Disabling and reenabling makes no difference. I can buy a new WiFi card for less than $8 but, since the one I've got is showing as working properly, I'm skeptical that a new one would fix the problem. Anyone run across a problem like this?  Moderator comment: Model added to subject for clarity.

This one:

Because my desktop was situated at the other side of the house from the router, I bought what I thought was an official Intel card with this antenna because I knew the longer range and clearance would help. However, once the card came in it turns out while it does have the right mPCI Intel card, the mPCI to PCIe adapter and antennas are very different, and the antennas are the generic short black plastic ones
I did buy it through Amazon third party seller but I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it as the card is still genuine and the adapter has a metal heat shield which I think is good as it bumps up against my GPU, but I had really shitty speeds until I fiddled with the antennas a bit and it's still not the best.

So, is it possible to buy this antenna standalone, or is there a similar one? I don't really want to go for the goofy extra long black antennas, or the bases that look like automotive CB radio antennas. And I'd like fast shipping and for it to be under $20CAD or so inc shipping, if possible.

Thanks.

Additional setup info:Dual HDDs (Win7 Pro & XP Pro)
XP Pro ? LAN & WiFi work fine (orig. configuration from Dell)
Win7 ? neither LAN nor WiFi work (Win7 added after purchase)
I was working on setting up an outdoor WiFi antenna a couple of days ago when my problems started. I was working in Win7, which I had not been using that often. My LAN connection was not working, and I realized the driver had not been installed. I downloaded it from Dell?s website and installed it. I received an error message about SNMP service not being installed. I turned the service from disabled to auto. I do not know if my LAN adapter is now working. That is my first problem. My second problem happened when even though my WiFi card had been working fine, I decided to see if its driver had been updated. It was not. I believe a Microsoft driver was installed. It was working just fine though (smile), so I had to mess with it. I downloaded the driver from Del??s website and installed it. That is when my problems started. The WiFi card has not worked since. First I realized I installed the wrong driver. I uninstalled it and installed the correct one. I even restored the system to before I messed with any drivers. No luck. My WiFi card still does not work. The iNtel utility states it fails the hardware test and passes the driver test. Windows 7 states it cannot find any wireless networks (if I switch to XP Pro everything works). I am at a loss and very frustrated. Can anyone help me please?

Hi Guys,

I'm currently trying to work out a problem regarding my WiFi card on my L670-14M.

The old Wifi card died on us, so I decided to buy a Intel 7620 card to replace it. This installed fine, and is recognized by the device manager, and I can now find the wifi card in the adapter settings menu.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to go any further. The wireless logo in the corner appears, but with a red "X" through it.

I've tried:
Disabling and enabling the cardUsing the FN+F8 key combinationUpdating the BIOSRunning the troubleshooter (It tells me to switch on the WiFi capabilities via a switch on the computer or the FN keys. I have no switch and the FN key combination doesn't work.I've also attempted to clear the TCP/IP stack to no avail.

All I can guess now is that the card is either incompatible with this laptop, or maybe there's something in the registry that could be changed/removed to help? I've tried several different cards too (as this is a work laptop and we've bought the cards in bulk) and it's not due to a faulty card.

Thanks,

A problem has recently developed with my Envy notebook.   About 2 weeks ago my entire wireless network began slowing down when on it.   Noticeable on all devices.    When my provider came out, checked and tweaked some issues it appeared to be ok.   I went on with my daughers HP laptop and was drawing 20-24 mbps all over the house. When I reconnected mine to the system I was only pulling 6, 3, 5, up and down.   It doesn't start right away but after a few minutes.   So I put my duaghers right next ot mine and low and behold, when I ran her's it pulled 3 - 6 also.   So I turned my wi-fi off and hers' popped right back up.   I have also tried this with an old XP mini, my i-pads etc.   As soon as mine gets on the network the speed crashes.    This also happens with no one else home and no other devies conncted. I have downloaded the latest up to date Intel driver for this network adapter and it hasn't changed anything. Any ideas?

Bill_Ving Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about wireless networking poor performance and wanted to help. My immediate guess is that you might have mixed-mode networking going on.  This happens when you have two different PCs networking in two different modes -- one using "G", the other using "N".  The wireless router (or access point) can optimize performance for either mode, but not for both.  So, the "G" mode drags down the performance of the "N" mode PC, but even worse, with the router set for mixed modes, it performs more slowly than with either PC connected by itself. Here are some other troubleshooting steps you can try: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 8) | HP® Customer SupportGood Luck========================================================================I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.---------------------------------------------------------------Please click "Accept As Solution" on the post that solves your issue to help others find the solution. Please click the Thumbs-Up symbol on the left of the Reply button to say thanks fopr my help.========================================================================

It looks like neither of the drivers above support bluetooth in Windows 10 Home 64-bit, but someone might be able to help.

The WiGig card's driver is the latest, and the 3YX8R cannot be detected by any means!
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.

Hello,
I want to upgrade my Laptop Inspiron 17R N7110 with a SSD for Windows boot. I do only have one place where the HDD is already built in and I want to keep the HDD.
When I was removing the dust inside the Laptop at the fan I saw the (half) "mini-card"-Slots. In one I have the WLAN, but the otherone is empty. So my Idea was to add a  mSATA Mini (Half Size) SSD.
I saw this on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/MyDigitalSSD-Super-Cache-HybriDisk-Software/dp/B00JF4CUBO/ref=pd_cp_pc_0
But I do not know if this could work (as boot drive for Win8). Do this fit as (half) "mini-card" ? Is SATA III at this slot supported? What do I have to change at BIOS?
Thanks to everyone who answer.

A:Inspiron 17R N7110 mSATA Mini (Half Size) SSD

The hybrid drive is the best option for this system (short of getting a full SSD) -- there is no way to put an mSATA SSD in this system.
The system takes standard, 2.5" hard drives up to 9.5 mm in height.

Hi, I have a XPS 13 9343 (i5/QHD) purchased refurbished from 3rd party, recently installed clean W10.
The Dell tool indicates to me that I should be installing:
9343_Network_Driver_WD22T_WN32_7.35.333.0_A03.EXE
Installing I get failure log at the bottom.
Via Device Manager as mentioned the WiFi adapter under Network is not there, scanning for hardware changes does not help.
I have tried manually installing inf files but I don't get any options under "Model" when I try to install it through legacy hardware.
I'm starting to think the Wifi/Bluetooth component is either faulty or entirely missing from the vendor (I have not opened it up and wouldn't know how to diagnose this myself).
I've attached a separate wifi dongle which works as does connecting to Ethernet via a USB adapter.
Any other ideas of what it could be? Thanks.

Hi Guys,
This is Viral. I am using an Acer laptop model ASPIRE 4736 since the last five years. There haven't been much issues with it. except for the battery and thats it. But recently, since last two weeks I noticed that my Wifi would stop blinking after sometime after I start my laptop and then it wouldn't work even when I try to turn on and turn off the Wifi switch(it doesn't respond anything). I tried searching the net for this issue using my office laptop and found that a system restore would help to solve this issue. Since I remembered that I updated Java as well as there was this ad software which got installed and I had unistalled it. So I did a system restore and then when I opened the device manager, I am not able to see intel r wifi link 5100 driver on it. I tried restarting my laptop and did everything and couldn't find the driver(it was there before the system restore). But later on the same day, the driver got installed automatically and the WiFi started working but only for a couple of minutes after the restart and then it stopped. So  I did the system restore again to the date when everything was working perfectly and when i did that, again my intel r wifi link 5100 driver is not shown on the device manager(network adapters). I don't if it would automatically get installed or not but its sure that the WiFi issue still be there. So can you please help with this issue?

I am trying to get this device imaged with our base Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit image. I am getting the following errors:In Device Manager, the Generic Bluetooth Adapter is throwing the error "Windows has stopped this device  because it has reported problems (Code 43)"In the Event Viewer, under Windows Logs - System, I am seeing the following pop up every 20 seconds or so: "The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver has been unloaded." EventID is 17 and the Source is BTHUSB.I have tried many different drivers, both from HP and Intel and have applied two different hotfixes (KB982046 and KB980396) based on various other websites recommendations. I have tried the oft-repeated recommendations of disabling/re-enabling; uninstalling/scan for hardware changes & applying drivers; shutting down (unplug) for several minutes and restarting system. Currently, I am only applying the NIC and USB drivers and am still seeing this problem, although I have also applied all drivers with no difference. A couple of questions:Has anyone else seen this and fixed it?Could the USB drivers be the issue? I am using the USB drivers otherwise I cannot use my keyboard/mouse.Any other suggestions?

Hello Keslaa, Have you updated the BIOS firmware and Chipset drivers as well? You can get these from the support site, under drivers and downloads:http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=8741495&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4060 Additionally, in the device manager, I know you've already uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, scanned for hardware changes, rebooted, etc. Have you also tried to "Update the driver software", "browsed computer for driver software" and searched the C:\ drive? I have seen a similar issue before and this resolved the issue for that unit. The computer was looking elsewhere for the driver and did not find the most recent one installed. Hope this helps!

Hi,

I just acquired a Belkin mini to use with my headphones.

Step 1 is to install the BT adapter. on the support website, it says that because I use Windows 8, I shouldn't have anything to install.

But things don't happen like they're supposed to. it seems that when I plug the USB adapter, something happens but then nothing else. So I install anyway the setup program on the CD. again when installation is over, nothing happens, no desktop icon, no special tray icon.
At this point I should point out that my ACER predator desktop PC has an inbuilt Bluetooth device... but for some reason it too can't seem to connecto to headphones, hence the purchase of the belkin adapter. So in my tray, there already was a bluetooth icon.

So what I did, was check the device manager to see if it recognized hardware. And apparently there is a problem, but this is where my skills end and where I hope to get some help from you guys.

I have a HP Pavilion g6 and want to pair it with a Bose Soundlink Mini bluetooth speaker - it doesn't work.  Any help would be appreciated.  Very frustrating.   It paired with my iPad and iPhone easily.

A:Pairing bluetooth Bose soundlink mini

Hi,

For pairing your bluetooth Bose speaker to your computer. I have included the link 'SoundLink® Wireless Mobile speaker update' to download the actual software, and updates available. According to the page for the download, you will need to have the speaker connected to the computer with a micro USB cord.

If the above step fails to resolve the issue, I will need to know the full model number of your notebook, and what version of Windows you are running. I have included the documents 'Guide to finding your product number', and 'Which Windows operating system am I running?'.

Thank you.

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to get this device to work for hours, and no matter what I do, I keep getting a messege saying the device driver software was not succesfully installed.

Under Bluetooh Peripheral Device, it says no drivers found.

Has anyone successfully installed the Belkin's Mini-BT dongle, and if so, can someone give me a step by step, how-to on how to do so?

On my iPhone, under Bluetooth, it says that I'm connected to the PC, but on the PC, it says that the BT device needs trouble shooting, and it won't allow me to transfer any files to the iPhone.

Really, the primary reason I got the BT dongle was so that I could use the iPhone's 3G service as an internet connection when I'm away from home.

I'd appreciate any help.

Have you been using the system-included drivers, or drivers from an installation disc/download? I'm thinking they're not compatible. Are you on 7 64-bit or 32-bit?

EDIT: I see they work on Vista 32-bit and 64-bit, which means they'll work with both versions of 7. Vista drivers should work with 7.

A:Is the Intel 530 SSD worth buying for a two and half year old laptop?

Any SSD will be a massive improvement over the HDD. You won't notice much difference in performance if you buy a top of the range model or a cheap one other than benchmarks.

The Samsung Evo's seem to be the hot drive at the moment that won't break the bank. I recently got a 250GB one myself and know many other people that are very happy with them.

So, my Rii Mini Keyboard with Trackpad (RT-MWK02) finally arrived from Newegg last night.
The unit came with a small USB bluetooth adapter.
I plugged the adapter in, but the keyboard in discoverable mode, typed in the password Windows gave me, and everything worked perfectly on the first try!
Then I decided I didn't like the USB port I plugged the bluetooth adapter into (it has a rather bright red LED, and I plugged it in to the front of the HTPC which was distracting, so I decided to move it to the back.
Removed the USB adapter, plugged it back in, bluetooth adapter is discovered by Windows again, but no input from the keyboard.
I try re-pairing it. Windows never discovers the new device.
I go to the list of devices, and remove it from the list, and try re-pairing it again. Again, windows does not discover the keyboard, even though the bluetooth adapter is still present (and functional) in windows.
Just in case it's a weird USB issue, I move the adapter back to the original port where it once worked, and still it does not pair with the HTPC.
In all of the cases it simply is not discovered by the Windows 8 machine when searching, like it was the first time.
To make sure there is nothing wrong with the keyboard, I try to pair it with my cellphone (Samsung Galaxy S3) and it works perfectly. (it's a little odd to see a mouse pointer on a cellphone screen, but I digress)
So again, I disconnect it, and try to pair it with Windows 8 again, to no avail.

A:Windows 8 HTPC Rii Mini Keyboard Bluetooth Issues

Why don't you try restoring your PC to the earlier state before plugging in your Rii. It might help wiping out the info already stored in the system and start fresh again.

You have a very nice smartphone. I also have an android phone (HTC One X) and sometimes I use it to control my HTPC. Download the FREE app on your phone and then download the server on your PC and you can control your HTPC smoothly via your home wifi network. You can even turn on your PC thru WOL (wake-on-lan) and turn it off also just using your smartphone. You might think about returning you Rii after trying the Unified Remote App.
My other HTPC controller is a logitech K-400 wireless keyboard with heat pad. It's always nice to have a full size keyboard with any PC. It also has a tiny USB dongle which didn't have the same problem like you have now even if I plug and unplug it to the front and back of the HTPC.

BTW, This isn't me on the video. I just grabbed it from youtube...hahaha. Cheers!

I recently upgraded my VDSL speed to 40mbps down and 20mbps up. Since the upgrade my speed is only at about half. I am reading at about 19-20 mbps download. I had 20 down and 5 up prior to the upgrade. And always got full speed over WiFi.

I get my full speed over a ethernet cable. I have a actiontec V 1000 modem/router. or as Qwest calls it the Q 1000. It supports 802.11 N.
Its also dual band.

My laptop wireless card is a Realtek RTL8187B wireless 802.11 b/g 54mbps usb 2.0 network adapter.

I have tried changing the channel of my router. I also tried changing the power level of the radio signal. I also updated the driver.

I changed the channel of my realtek card as well. I am stumped. I also called my ISP tech support. They have no idea whats wrong. The person I spoke to thought 802.11 n was a model number.

If anyone knows what I can do to fix this, it would be much appreciated if you could help.

A:WiFi only half speed. Help.

Welcome to TSG!

Sorry to say that's all you'll get with 802.11 g. The 54Mbits/sec is the maximum physical layer bit rate. Actual throughput will be around 24 Mbits/sec Max.

Only way to "fix" it is to upgrade to 802.11 n.

I have an 802.11 n setup which connects at 130 Mbits/sec, but the Max throughput is around 60-65 Mbits/sec.

I had to update my bluetooth drivers (Intel) before I could finally get sound to come out of my new UE Mini Boom speakers.

But I still have a problem. If I am watching a Youtube video in a web browser (doesn't seem to matter which) and then switch to a video in VLC or Win Media Player, the sound from the new source doesn't play on the speakers. I have to power the speaker off and then back on and then it will pick up the new audio.

When I had a USB speaker the source-audio switched without any problem. Are there any settings that I can update, or should I just accept that a bluetooth speaker was a terrible idea for Win7?

A:Bluetooth speakers (UE Mini Boom) don't switch to new audio source

Youtube uses the Adobe Flash Player. VLC/WMP or whatever media player does not and thus different audio source. One thing to check, that may or may not make a difference, is if you have Stereo Mix set as the default recording device. This can affect sound playback. Stereo Mix is found in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound panel, Recording section.

So the HP MINI 110 that came free with verizon fios is overheating all the way up to 90 degrees C. Any suggestions on if the chip is bad? The fan is blowing at full and the process % is only a 2% and the temperatures are still climbing.

A:HP Mini Intel Atom issue (overheating)

Those mini's are designed to use less power, so they shouldn't run that hot. Is the mini malfunctioning?

I have a ProDesk 400 G2 Desktop Mini with an i7-6700T which I am trying to get to work with Intel AMT. But I?m not completely sure if this works since there?s a Realtek NIC and not an Intel one.According to the manual there should be an option to configure Intel AMT in the BIOS, but it?s not there. Also there?s no ?Press <ctrl-p> to configure to enter MEBx setup? or similar after BIOS post. The BIOS shows the following information: System BIOS:          N23 Ver. 02.09 08/07/2016ME Firmware Version:  11.0.0.1205 I can?t seem to find information about what the hardware requirements for Intel AMT are, besides vPro. The PCU supports vPro, but I?m starting to think that the Realtek NIC isn?t compatible. Can someone please enlighten me?

I am a complete noob re WiFi (alway use hard wired) but recently bought a cheap USB dongle described as 150Mbps 11n. On testing I found I was getting about 22Mbps download with the dongle (1 metre from router) compared to 62Mbps wired. Upload speed was about the same as wired.

A bit of Googling told me this was a simplex/duplex problem. I did a test with a friends laptop and got full speed, so its not my router (BT homehub) and I have the latest driver from Windows update. So - is this about par for a four quid WiFi dongle, or do I need to set some value or other to get duplex? I could see this half speed business being a problem for someone already on a low speed line.

A:USB WiFi speed half that of wired

Hi 3D Jed.

Could I have more details on the USB Dongle please?

Also is it a 3.0 USB? Maybe you friend has usb 3 and you only have usb 2?

I'm trying to run Half Life on my PC, and I've never had issues with it before on my desktop that had a Nvidia 6600gt, but on my laptop, I am running an Intel GM965, and it seems like OpenGL just won't work. The game will launch, but then there will be no text, even though when you move the mouse on the area it will make the sounds, so the game isn't just frozen. This is a bummer, because some mods for Half Life, like the new one, Cry of Fear, require OpenGL or the flashlight won't work. Which is kind of crucial for a horror game. I have the latest Intel Drivers, and I am all up to date with Windows Updates, and all that jazz. I don't have money for a better comp, so I want to try and get the best experience I can with what I got. I appreciate the help anyone can give me.

A:OpenGL issue when running Half Life, or HL mods. Intel GM965.

Try installing this driver; http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...adType=Drivers
This is just to make absolutely sure you have the latest driver. If you use Intel's driver detection tool you might not...

I have a 600 g1 mini running Win10.  I put in a combo wifi blue tooth module into the m.2 slot that is under the hard drive.  Windows recognizes the module abs shows that both wifi and Bluetooth are working.  When I try to connect to any device or a wireless router I get nothing,  I'm assuming that there is no signal being broadcast or detected because I have no antenna connection.  The parts list indicates that an antenna exists.  Where is it?  Thanks in advance.
