Intel (R) HD Graphics Family Driver Not Working fo...

Q: Intel (R) HD Graphics Family Driver Not Working fo...

Hi there, I upgraded my Aspire S7-392 to Windows 10 a few weeks ago, and while most things seem to be working fine, the driver for the Intel (R) HD Graphics Family display adapter has had the yellow exclamation mark of 'something's wrong' next to it ever since. I'm now unable to plug my laptop into the external monitor I use for work (as nothing happens when I do so), and graphics performance is visibly slowed down (to the point of unusability) when playing even fairly low-demand games. All of which would seem to indicate that there's a pretty major problem with the drivers. I spent literally 10 hours on the phone to Microsoft customer service trying to figure out the issue, but all they could tell me after a fairly intensive investigation was that they didn't know what the issue was, and to wait for driver updates from Acer or Intel. I have the latest driver from the Acer support website installed (although there doesn't seem to be one specifically for Windows 10), and I've rolled back and updated and tried several versions of the drivers from there, but all seem to have the same issue. I also downloaded the Windows 10 drivers from Intel that are supposedly specifically for my processor and graphics setup, but when I try to install them, it says that my computer doesn't meet the requirements (which is pretty confusing when I have the exact hardware the driver is designed for).I've searched these support forums for other Aspire S7 users having similar problems, and for people with Intel (R) HD Graphics Family setups experiencing similar problems, but can't seem to find anything.Apologies if this has actually been discussed elsewhere, but any help at all with this issue would be appreciated. Windows 10 has been out for a while now, so I was hoping a solution had been found for this, since there must be quite a few S7 users out there.Anyway, thanks in advance for any thoughts/tips,Oli

1. Download the "Intel Driver Update Utilty" 2. Go to device manage and uninstall/delete your Intel graphics driver3. Run the Intel driver update utility. Your current graphics driver is a custom Acer/Intel OEM graphics driver. Thats why it won't let you install it. If the generic graphics driver that the update Utilty installs doesn't work quite right, then you'll have to go back to the driver that's on Acers website. If don't want to use the Intel driver update Utilty, then you'll have to download the zip driver file instead of the .exe driver......and then use the "have disk method" to install it. It's probably easier to just use the Intel driver update Utilty.

So I've been trying to fix this for a long while but I've been unable to find an update for the windows 10 version of the intel(r) hd graphics family graphics driver or display adapter, I've tried manually installing the graphics driver files but couldn't fix it, however I don't think I did it correctly so if any help is given to me could you suggest the (correct) drivers for me to download. Thanks a lot in return.

Hi,

I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 660-4858. Service tag-number JPYXD5J. It originally came with W7, but I installed Vista Ultimate x64 on it. Now there are several drivers not working (when looking in device manager). I managed to solve most of them but there are still two I can not solve:

1. Network Controller. On Dell's website there are only drivers for W7 when looking up this device. According to the UKD ("UnknownDevices") software, the details for this device are:
Atheros Communications Inc
Dell Computer Corp
However, on Dell's website it appears to call the WLAN adapter (which I assume this 'network controller' is?) Dell DW1506 WLAN 802.11 b/g/n . Version of that driver is 9.2.0.484, A01, but it's only for Windows 7.
Any suggestions how I should find the latest driver for this device, for Vista??

2. Intel(R) HD Graphics Family (Dell's driver site calls it "Intel Graphics Controller" and "Intel UMA driver"). I actually did download drivers for this, supposedly for Vista. However, not thru Dell's site (they only have the driver for W7 and W8). But still there is an exclamation mark next to it in device manager, and every time I turn the computer on, this message is displayed on the icon tray:
Incompatible display adapter has been disabled.
At least one display adapter on the system has been disabled because its driver is not compatible with the driver for the VGA adapter.

Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

The name is only Intel HD Graphics Family there isnt a number after it in dxdiag

A:Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

Intel G41 express is the very old, Core 2 equivalent on-motherboard-gpu aka Eaglelake. It only supports up to dx10, it has awful and old drivers, and incomplete opengl support (less apps can run on it). It can idle in recent games like Dota 2 with up to 30fps with everything on low. Key word: idle. Don't even think about playing under more than 15-20fps.

Intel HD Graphics Family is on-cpu-die-gpu aka Sandy Bridge, it's still old now, but does have support for dx11 and opengl, and it has a lot more raw power than x4500(g41), depending on the cpu. It even supports overclocking with sizeable improvements.

Really there is no contest between the two families.

Hello everybody. So I have a Gateway ZX6971 Running windows 8 RP Build 8400
I am having this problem where i cant get minecraft to work. It turns on and starts up, but then the game states that i have a bad graphics driver or openGL. My driver is actually up to date and same for openGL so what can I do to fix this? The driver is actually on what i believe is made for windows 8 because it is now titled Intel(R) HD Graphics Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.2). Now i did a clean instal onto here so my old driver is gone. I recently downloaded it again through softpedia (gateway for some reason only has Nvidia drivers on the page for my computer) and as soon as i load it, it states that it doesnt meet the min. system req..... Basically how can i make minecraft work?

Nope, you didn't install intel video drivers. Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.2 says it's default microsoft driver, not intel's.

Hey, guys!

I'm having a few problems with my Asus U30Jc-A1 laptop I just bought. This model has hybrid graphics (nVidia Optimus), that means there are both integrated and dedicated graphics processors inside.

The Intel graphics driver sometimes crashes, and it only happens during or after the startup/boot process, with the pop-up message saying that "the driver has stopped working and has been recovered". When that happens, the Windows welcome screen starts blinking and the loading wheel starts spinning slowly.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 that came bundled with it. I already did 2 fresh installs from the recovery partition. I also updated both nVidia and Intel drivers to the latest version.

Any ideas? It seems something's wrong with the power management, but I'm not sure...

Please, help me! Thank you!

another comment "hi all, since I updated to the new drivers my u30jc ramdomly freezes and sometines I get a BSOD and then windows reboot winth a low resolution and no GPU under control panel."

As bad as this is to say, what if you loaded an older driver?

So is it possible for me to uninstall my current graphics driver and then install the latest Intel version? I'm not really sure where to go from here. Thanks in advance guys, I hope you all have a great holiday!

A:Issue Updating Intel (R) HD Graphics Family

Hello TSSG and welcome to Seven Forums.

Intel has many different series of graphics: 2500, 3000, 4000, etc. Some utilities will simply use the generic designation of "Intel Graphics Family" whenever they detect an Intel driver rather than name a specific version.

When a company like Intel issues a driver, each computer manufacturer is free to customize that driver for their own line of computers. I suspect that Dell did exactly that for its line of Inspiron computers. Because the Intel driver has been customized by Dell, if you try to install the latest and greatest directly from Intel, it could seriously hose your computer. Quick short story:

About a year ago Intel and Windows Update said a new driver was available for my Intel HD 3000 Graphics. I installed it and immediately my Sony Vaio began crashing, hanging, and doing all kinds of weird stuff. Intel and Sony both told me the same thing: never use a non-customized driver if the computer manufacturer had done any modifications to the driver. It took Sony about 6 months to offer their own customized version of the driver. I installed it and haven't had any problems.

So my advice is to wait until Dell does its customizing and then, if you really, REALLY have to get the latest and greatest, get it from Dell. When it comes to drivers, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

See, i've just got this HP ProBook and it had Windows7 Enterprise 64 bit.
When i looked to the system information and the dxdiag i saw that it had a 1.7GB VRAM.
When i Installed a game today, it said that it doesn't support the minimum requirements of it , which it was 128mb VRam.

What should i do, I mean is it the fault at the windows 7 64 bit or, enterprise can not recognize it.

After clean installing Windows 10 version 1607 build 14393  I got the following in the updates history :
Intel - Other hardware - Intel(R) 8 Series SMBus Controller - 9C22
Intel Corporation driver update for Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
both failed to install nevertheless other updates and cumulative software were installed successfully .
In the Device Manager I find those drivers installed in their places but for the first there is no way I can know whether I have the latest version or not.
Plus there are some more pci bridges which when they get updated from the Device Manager they change name and move upwards .
How do I handle this? Shall I force update all those drivers in the System Devices category or just leave everything as it is now in the screenshot?

Hello guys, first time poster here

So i'm using a Gateway nv78, its a pretty cheap computer. It uses the above mentioned 4 series chipset integrated video card. Now the problem im having comes to the drivers and how it effects my game playing performance. i recently wiped my hard drive because i was planning on selling the pc, however i dont plan to sell it anymore. Now, my previous display driver had allowed me to turn my graphics settings down really low, thus allowing me to play (starcraft 2) at a playable FPS. now with my computer being essentially reformatted and using the drivers suggested by gateway, i can't adjust these settings to a low enough point to allow me to play these games. I've tried installing what i remember to be the driver i had before, but it is now telling me that said driver is not compatable with my machine, and that i should use the manufacturer's drivers.

now if anyone understood all of that, and can perhaps tell me how to get better drivers, or bypass the error of not letting me download these alternative drivers.

I'm clearly a tech noob, so any information you guys can shed would be MUCH appreciated

thanks alot
eric

Hi! ericw616, welcome to 7F

Do you still have the 7 OS on the system? we'd need to know the model, Starter, basic, Home Home Premium, pro, ultimate?

How serviceable is the notebook? Does it run pretty well?

Did you save back-ups?

If you haven't done too much with it you might be able to recover some files by using a file recovery app like PhotoRec - CGSecurity To get some information back. I wouldn't use those files, but it might give you enough info to jog your memory to where you could remember the right driver, and then you could go back and re-download it to re-install.

The driver page for your NV78:
Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / NV Series / NV78

Intel's site, but there again you would need to know the make of OS to match up the proper drivers:

You could use this to identify your chipset :

Hello,

I've been to Intel's website, and downloaded both the .exe and the .zip files of the subject driver, and neither one of the installation packages work. It gets toward the end and comes back with "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver installer has encountered a problem and needs to close." I've also reported this to Intel's tech support via email (as this is the only method of contact that they seem to accept). I was asked a bunch of questions by way of a form, that had nothing to do with their installation package crapping out. So to make a long story short, I have to wait until Intel gets back with me, but really need the driver in a more expedient amount of time. Would any of you kind folks happen to have it available to send to me? Hopefully?

Thank you,

Running Windows 8 on a Dell laptop, I've attached a log file with all my computer's info.

The issue I'm having is that my Integrated Graphics won't update even though I'm using a signed driver from intel (This)
As you can see this driver is v9.3.0.1026 from 11/06/2012 while if you check my log file you'll see that I'm still on v8.15.10.2702 from March 2012.

I tried following what was suggested over here, but that driver is older than the one I'm currently using. I think I'm doing something wrong because in the post he says the version number is 15.17.18.2555, which is way past what intel is claiming is the version number for my IGC. And when I looked through my log I didn't see anything with a version number near that...

Anyway help would be very much appreciated!
Happy New Year!

It was recently updated. Ill update my post.
And the Version number is the last number, which is 2555. I change the numbers so it matches windows 8 numbers.

EDIT: Sorry it's taking so long to update the driver, I'm having trouble with signing it.

EDIT 2: Whoop dee doo.. Turns out I don't have the original certificate and keys I used to create all my previous drivers with. I'll update the Custom Certificate Installer again.

First of all here is an Cnet Archive link for your computer that has detailed specifications on the right hand side of the page, you will have to scroll down slightly to see them and according to that info you have a Intel 915GV Express Chipset. But to be absolutely sure you can follow this tutorial from Windows Seven Forum to accurately detect hardware and use the info to update your system specs here at Eight Forums.

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 laptop (Intel Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz with Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family Video Adapter) and have recently upgraded it from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Thus far, all applications seem to run quite well on Windows 10 with a couple of exceptions (i.e., Chief Architect's Home Designer Pro 2016 and onOne's Perfect Photo Suite) - both of which are fairly graphics intensive and indicate that an upgraded video adapter driver is needed to function properly.

Is there a Windows 10 video driver available for my laptop configuration? If so, I can't seem to find one - from Intel, HP or Microsoft. I'm sure that someone on this forum knows for sure!

I got my HP Notebook - 15-r111nia late last year and want to update the graphic card driver as it is very old (10.18.10.3958) since 2013, to a newer version. I tried using the Intel Driver Update Utility to automatically update it to the newer version but it saying a customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on my computer and so the download button is greyed out. I tried updating the graphics driver manually but it failed to install successfully after downlaoding on several attempts. I am soo fraustrated  now as most of my games are crashing and every recommendations i get from people is to update my graphic card. I would really appreciate anyone kind enough to help me with a link on the right graphic driver update and a work around concerning this issue.  Thanks in advance.

This is NOT official HP Customer Support and I, as most other persons on this forum, do not work for HP. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's. It appears you have the latest production release of the Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. The only other driver listed on Intel's support website is 14.40.26.4474 which is a BETA version. This BETA driver doesn't appear to address the issue you are having. HP hasn't made it difficult to update the driver. The Intel driver installer is what is telling you it can't install the driver. This is because there is a customized version of the driver on the computer and replacing it with a generic driver may cause issues or loss of functionality of the hardware. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the White KUDOS "Thumbs Up" to show your appreciation

When I run dixdiag I get the error that direct input isn't responding.
I tried to download drivers from intel but I got the error message that my machine doesen't meet the system requirements (I'm not entirly sure I picked the right software)

All the drivers from the dell site appear to do nothing and I've updated from direct 9 to 11.

Still no fix

If anyone can help me fix it give me your email and I'll gift you a itunes voucher or something, this problem is causing huge problems for me.

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has been having the same issue.

Windows 7 x64 series 8 motherboard. ASUS z87-expert.

My USB3 and USB2 are not working right after I install the Intel USB3 xhci Driver for Intel? 8/9 Series
version 3.0.1.41.

I have used the setup.exe to install the driver and the mouse/keyboard stopped working after the drivers are updated and I am not able to click the "Finish" button on the GUI to complete the installation.

Luckily that I was able to remote login to the PC to click the "Finish" button. After restart, the USB ports starts to work again.

A:USB port not working Intel USB3 xhci Driver for Intel« 8/9 Series

Welcome to SevenForums,

It is a little normal that during the process of updating the drivers, it does disconnect the devices plugged onto ports, to swap drivers and write the files in order the new drivers to work. It does remap the devices.

It is always better to uninstall previous USB 3.0 drivers and use a usb 2.0 port to control temporarily another mouse to finish the process and the reboot required. Could be Intel xHci or AsMedia XHci ones...same same.

I am not sure if this is where it belongs, or if it is a Graphics Card issue. I have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely, causing me to do a hard shut down. What can I do to resolve this issue?

Hi,
I have a Dell XPS L502x, which I bought late 2012. Recently the hard drive became corrupt so I've replaced it and installed Windows 7 on the new hard drive. I've just downloaded and ran the software to detect which drivers I need to install and have downloaded and installed all of them with the exception of the nvidia graphics driver which says I need to install an Intel driver first. I've searched the Dell site but I can't find the Intel driver I need.
Please can you point me to the Intel driver that I need to install?
Cheers,
Mike

I have a set of HP Z210 Workstations with E3-1245-V2 Xeon Cpu's, SSD boot drives and varying sizes of memory from 8-16GB 1600Mghz DDR3 ECC. We use Windows 8 Enterprise for these machines, with Hyper-V enabled.
We get regular driver failures from the 2 sets of USB controllers on the machines (Mainly and issue for the KB & Mouse) that can only be resolved with a full power down (not restart) and a power up. This happens at least once every 1-3 days per machine.
I had gone through the HP support, but they have advised this isn't an issue on their side, and I had agreed all along. I was just hoping to get some traction by notifying them. Anyway, after a lengthy trouble shooting session, we found that once Hyper-V
was enabled, the fault arose.
As it was an Intel chip, they I asked them. They advised that on Windows 8, the drivers are supplied via windows update and that it was not their issue.
So, how can I get this resolved? Not through HP or Intel, surely through MS? Maybe not. Disabling Hyper-V is not desired as I the teams with these PC's are developers and require local visualization. Also, we have templates ready for Hyper-V, I don't really
want to remove Hyper-V and use Virtual box or VMWare workstation. but I am at wits end with the fault and lack of help from the vendors.
Please help.

A:Hyper-V causes Intel(R) Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller driver to fail

I have found a work around for this fault with the USB failure - ENSURE YOU POWER  THE MACHINE OFF - DO NOT RESTART.
Its almost like the restart doesn't initialise the device correct, thus causing a failure.

A:Intel HD Graphics driver

You Can Roll Back the driver to the old driver, if the new driver was installed. Go to the Device Manager, Click the Properties for the Intel HD Graphics then Click the Driver Tab.

Another possibility is to use the System Restore function and restore the PC to an available restore date that is BEFORE you did (or attempted) the driver upgrade.

Hi,

I have a HP 6730b notebook with Intel GMA 4500MHD. (Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB RAM)

I'm looking for the proper graphics driver.
I need a HP-customized driver as I have problems with the generic one on Intel's website.
Previously, I had a HP-customized driver which worked fine, I'm looking for that.

I tried THIS driver (from HP's website) but it doesn't support my resolution so it's probably for different hardware.
I remember the old driver I had (before reinstalling) supported my resolution and worked flawlessly.

What driver should I download for this computer?
UPDATE:
I managed to solve this problem. The other driver called "Intel Video Driver and Control Panel" on HP's website works fine.

A new Intel driver for GMA 500 graphics has been released for the Sony Vaio P with noticeable improvements in video viewing, Aero performance (enables 3D acceleration) and web browsing. I have been advised that it Works only under Vista and Windows 7, no XP.
Apparently you have to install under Windows 7, use compatibility mode and select Vista as OS.
Can someone please guide me on how to install using compatibility mode ?
Many thanks

A:intel hd graphics driver

At a guess, the Microsoft Basic display drivers are what is installed for your laptop.

Intel has not released Windows 10 drivers for that CPU. You could try some Win 7 drivers:

Download Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver, Windows 7* 64, Windows Vista* 64 (exe)

They may work. Or, it may be possible to get them in using work-arounds (install in compatibility mode, manually force a driver update).

It's regrettable that Intel is not supporting hardware that is less than 6 years old, but they are under no legal obligation to do so.

That's an old graphics chip. Intel isn't even developing Win 7 video drivers for newer boards using 965G.

You may be forced to buy an add-on video card.

My wife has a twin graphics laptop. With Intel on the mother board and a Nvdia second one. A desktop monitor is used via a Docking Station ACP70EU After the W10 update only the Intell chip is working through the Docker when the laptop screen is off but the desk top one is being used. As far as I know both used to work as some of the graphics programs are setup to use it, They are running but using the Intel one, I expect they are also not using the graphics memory either!
If other display setups having the laptop screen running all?s OK and the Nvidia card is running.
Is there anything we can do are we stuck with it disabled with just the desk top screen working?

So I went to update my graphics driver but Intel's updater said this computer uses a custom driver meaning I'd have to get it from this website. I did but it said that the driver was not validated for this computer, which is impossible because it was custom made for this computer's hardware. So I manually installed it and now it keeps giving me problems like seemingly randomly crashing with "display driver stopped responding" type errors when I play games, often either rendering them unplayable or crashing them, seemingly depending on the game. Some of them have no problem with this I think but after the latest update to Phantasy Star Online 2 for example, it keeps crashing with this error after a couple of minutes or so. Exactly what driver am I even supposed to be using?!

I've been having problems updating my Intel Graphics Media Accelerator driver, 8.15.10.2119. It is the version that prevents Win 7 SP1 from showing up in WU. I read a thread about this very issue from 2011, but the link provided to go to Intel to get the latest driver leads to nowhere. I cannot find a place to go to update the driver. I manually downloaded SP1 and installed it and it is working fine. My question is: do I still need to update the driver, and if so, where do I get it from? Neither HP nor Intel is any help here. And would this driver cause IE9 to crash? The computer came with IE8 on it, but I installed IE9 in Nov. 2011. Shortly after, I was getting a message like "Internet Explorer has stopped working". I uninstalled IE9 and went back to IE8, but I had the same problem there as well. IE8 worked fine until I upgraded to IE9. Then I uninstalled IE8 and changed to IE9, where I still have problems. I have contacted MS Support about this, and one option given was to reformat the hard drive, which I really don't want to do. They were concerned about the fact that SP1 was not offered and hinted that the computer would be more vulnerable to problems without it installed. My firewall and anti-virus have turned up nothing. I use Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security. Any help you could offer would be appreciated. Tim

A:Could old Intel Graphics driver cause IE9 to crash?

Welcome to the forum.

IE 9 uses the graphic card (GPU) to do rendering of graphics in the browser, however it can be changed to use software as was done previously.
Open tools in IE 9 and select Internet options.
Then the Advanced tab.
Then check Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering.

I have been trying to connect an external monitor to laptop through HDMI.  There is a thread out there that discusses the problems of connecting through HDMI but I am having a different set of problems perhaps. First off, with every restart, the laptop can decide to shut down and not even display Intel HD graphics adapter.  There seems to be no rhyme or reason.  Sometimes the Intel adapter shows up right next to NVIDIA, sometimes it is only NVIDIA.  When it is only NVIDIA, the external monitor through HDMI is not recognized. When the laptop doesn't recognize the intel hd graphics, I have found a tedious workaround for now.  I go to bios, switching the display type (discrete to hybrid or back, basically changing whatever the prior type was), once again allows the laptop to recognize the intel hd adapter as well as the external monitor upon next restart. What is exactly going on?  And what can I do to avoid this issue? The only pattern I have found out is that my wifi also keeps dropping inspite of updating to latest wifi drivers, and no it is not connected to my router since wifi drops at other places too.  When I have to force restart my laptop after such occurence, the external monitor support is lost.  I then have to restart after changing the graphics type in bios.  For some reason, it shakes up the computer and then it remembers to support the external monitor the next time alon... A:Intel HD Graphics Driver Problem.

Hi, You can get around the restriction imposed by the oem graphics package by manually installing the Intel Graphics driver as follows. First, download the latest Intel HD4600 driver for your notebook from the link below and save it to your Downloads folder - you need the first option ( ie win64_154025.4463.zip ).  Note:  If you wish to install a different driver version from Intel, the method is still the same. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26079/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-?... When done, download and install the .64bit version of 7-Zip on the link below. http://www.7-zip.org/ When you've installed 7-Zip, open your Downloads folder, right click on the win64_154025.4463.zip package, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok. Cut this newly extracted folder and paste it on your Desktop so it's easy to find. When done, hold down the Windows key and press R Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. In Device Manager, expand Display adapters, right click the Intel 4600 device and select 'Update Driver Software'. In the following window, select 'Browser my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'. In the next window, click the 'Have Disk' button and then browse to the extracted Intel win64_154025.4463 folder you pasted on your Desktop. Browse into the sub-folder Graphics, left click on t... I have my asus laptop hooked to my hd tv via hd cable. it works fine under the old driver, yet it's calling for an update and each time it updates, I get horizontal lines on my t.v. The screen on the lap top is clear and fine when i unplug the cable. I have to roll back the driver in order to get the t.v. to work again, but I'm sure the update is for a reason. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something?

Windows Update has downloaded an item "Intel Corporation Driver Update for Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600" Published 28 July 2016.  It is listed as an important update,  but it will not install, after around 8 attempts. Windows Update gives the message "Code 80070103 Windows Update encountered an unknown error."  and there is no support info. I am using an HP L1950g monitor (1280 x 1024 pixels), connected through the VGA cable. Do I need this update? If Yes, how can I get it to install? If No,  how can I delete it from my system? Thank you !

Yes i read the stickied thread it did not seem to help answer my questions haha.
Recently google chrome updated to 13 and adobe flash 10.3 ever since then iv'e been having trouble playing flash based content in google chrome. It plays, and games work, but they get very low fps (it did not do this before the update) I read somewhere it could be an intel driver related problem for those using internet explorer 9, but i still have internet explorer 8 nor do i even open it or use it regularly.

& come to think of it, ever since i got this computer its felt laggy, everything i do on it.. i know it isn't the monitor. I can supply more info if questions are asked.

Here is a screenshot of graphics / driver info

I upgraded both my desktop and laptop to Windows 10 recently. The desktop's upgrade went smoothly; NVIDIA already has Windows 10-compatible drivers. However, my laptop with Intel HD Graphics is a different story. I've tried the Dell-certified drivers as well as the latest ones directly from Intel, and neither work.

When I attempt to install the driver, I get an error message stating "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."

Any help is appreciated!

Can I uninstall Intel HD Graphics Driver? I have an NVIDIA card. It is optimus though but I wouldn't mind if it always ran off it. I'm not sure how it works so I decided to be safe and ask.

A:Intel HD Graphics Driver [Question]

I'm guessing your computer came with Intel HD integrated graphics and that you upgraded a NVIDIA graphics card.

It's not going to hurt anything to leave the Intel driver installed.

If you uninstall it, you may receive a prompt to install the driver for it the next time you start/restart the computer.

Processor: Intel Core Duo P8400
System Devices: Mobile Intel 45 Express Chipset

The Intel Graphics Driver from the Sony Support site won't install. At least I don't think it installed. When I run the setup app it says "Installed Correctly" , then a window says it did not install with message that it is only for Vista systems. I have no idea if it installed or not. Can someone tell me where to get a graphics driver elsewhere? Or, how can I confirm that it installed?

Also: I went to the Intel Download website and found some drivers that might be the ones. I just not smart enuff to know which one might work. I ran their Graphics Detect app. and it said: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series (M.S. corp WDDM 1.1), Cur. Driver Installed 8.65.1.15.

I don't know which driver you have tried to update, Intel family usually denotes chipsets, the one you want is a graphics driver.

Should I uninstall - will it affect anything?

A:Intel graphics kernel mode driver

Hi,

It will affect your Intel Graphics card if you uninstall the driver.

I would suggest trying a clean boot which will use a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.
See if the computer then boots quicker?

Also check with the Intel Update Utility to see if there is a newer driver available for your Intel card.

I am having a problem with my Intel 82852/82855 graphics card drivers. this started when I tried to update the driver. I downloaded the driver, and tried to update it by unzipping the file, and going to device manager, selecting the device, selecting update driver, and specifying the location. it worked pretty well, but right at the end of the proccess, where the bar was almos full, it stopped. the wizard told me that there had been an error while installing my hardware; "the specified file could not be found." however, I didn't see a file specified anywhere! also, after this, my video card, (or cards, I'm not sure; device manager shows two had the little yellow circle with and exclamation mark near it. I tried this several times, completely unninstalling the drivers from the add/remove program lists. I've even tried it with an older driver, but I get the same message. Please help me: I'm pretty desperate!

Problem: Intel HD Graphics keeps on crashing right after installation "Intel HD Graphics has stopped responding and has recovered error".I had this error when I recently upgraded my RAM to 4gb (original RAM was 2gb), but it did not start directly to crash. I was thinking that the upgrade was successful because it did not proceed to give me errors but it only started a few minutes right after I was playing DOTA 2 on my laptop. Right after then it kept crashing not when I was playing games but when I boot up my laptop the screen will turn black with a cursor and the computer beep of Windows 10 notification sound that something has been attached then ejected much like a flashdrive inserted and ejected.I have tried the following before writing my dilemma here:Tried system restoreMade a clean installInserted my old RAMTried the TdrDelay registry tweak (to no avail)I can fully use my laptop normally when I either disable the installed INTEL HD GRAPHICS or uninstall it and use Microsoft Display Adapter.I really need to install the Intel HD graphics driver without problems because since a graphics card helps a lot in the performance of a computer.PS: My laptop only has 1 slot for RAM.LAPTOP MODEL: Acer Aspire ES1-431-P1SHRAM used for upgrade: http://www.lazada.com.ph/kingston-value-ram-4gb-1600mhz-pc3-12800-ddr3l-135v-non-ecc-cl11sodimm-1rx8...

I cannot get the onboard Intel 82810E graphics controller to work on XP Home SP2 or SP3. This is a new installation on an old (very) spare Fujitsu Siemens Scenic T. I have tried the drivers downloaded from the Intel website (win2k_xpe67.exe) and from the Fujitsu Siemens website, which look to be the same. Also tried using windows drivers (system32\drivers) with the same result of 640 X 480 screen resolution and 4 bit color. Have tried the Intel workaround of disabling the 82810E controller, which defaults to standard VGA and doing a clean install of the drivers...still no joy. I'm ready to give up and just buy a cheap graphics card, as the machine is to only be used in a guest bedroom for people to browse and check email when visiting. Still, hate to be defeated by a graphics driver of all things. Was hoping for some suggestions or maybe someone knows of a generic driver that would give decent resolution and color.

I got a message after a long start up that my computer recovered from a serious error. I then got a message from microsoft to upgrade an intel graphics driver to resolve this problem. After my first restart, the screen image shrank. About one third of my total screen area is black border. How do I fix this?

A:Intel Graphics Driver shrinks image

Under display settings, set the resolution higher (to the recommended resolution for your screen, proabably 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024 or similar, its likely defaulted to 800 x 600)

And I would seriously advise never to use a video driver (or any driver) that is suggested by Microsoft update, you should get the correct one from the maker of your video card or the maker of any other device that may need updating.

I've had this All-in-One for about a month. Every day, several times a day, the Intel HD Graphics Driver fails. The message says it recovered, but I have to close and re-open any program I was using because it doesn't come back right. As I write this, I fear it is going to happen again! I've checked for newer drivers and have found none. I've uninstalled and re-installed the driver as per instructions. This is annoying the heck out of me for a brand new system to be doing this and disrupting and even losing my work because I have to close a program to get the whole window to display. It doesn't work to just minimize a window either. All there is when it comes back are blocks of white and black where toolbars and work areas should be. I bought this at a local electronics retailer. Should I take it back or is there something that I haven't yet thought to do that will fix it? Sharonin Illinois

Hi Sharon, I feel for you but you can try this, I believe this will fix your problem. Based on my experience, this issue is usually happening on the driver version : 10.18.15.4248. Since you have already unisntalled and re-installed display driver and it didn't fix it, I do recommend for you to try using this version : 15.40.14.4352. What I've encountered is if you were to install a driver from Intel website, you'll be getting the message "The driver you install is not validated on this computer", therefore you won't be able to install this driver, unless you uninstall everything and start once you only have Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. You can try the below step instead. It will be a lot faster. Please follow these steps.? Download the driver here. Download the zipfile then decompress/extract it.? Open the extracted folder, then go to Graphics folder. It may say something like this (C:\Users\SuperUser\Downloads\win64_154012.zip\Graphics), then copy the path.? Go to device manager, right click on Intel HD Graphics 530, then select Update Driver.? Select let me pick, then go to Browse my computer for driver software.? Once you're there select have disk, then paste the path, then hit next.? It will install the Intel HD Graphics 530, without the use of the wizard.? Restart the computer.? Check back on device manager, you should have the updated driver that ends with 4352.   Let me know if issue persists.

Hardware vendors are getting an early jump on Microsoft's next OS to avoid Vista-style compatibility headaches.

In an effort to avoid compatibility problems that plagued the launch of Windows Vista, Intel (NSDQ: INTC) is giving developers a jump on its Windows 7-based product line.
The company has released a pre-production version of Windows 7 drivers for graphics chipsets. The WDDM1.1 graphics driver is designed for "enabling the full Windows 7 experience," Intel said, noting that the driver is the result of ongoing collaboration with Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT).

Asset Management has always been a critical part of management the life cycle of your IT infrastructure. Avocent CTO Ben Grimes walks us through a hands-on look at how his company's technology helps."As a result of the collaboration, OEMs and beta users can stay in step with Windows 7 prereleases for smooth product development," Intel said.
Drivers allow hardware components to communicate with a computer operating system. Windows 7, the successor to Windows Vista, is expected by industry observers to be released in late 2009 or early 2010.

When Vista launched in January of last year, many hardware makers -- including Intel -- didn't have fully compatible drivers ready. The problems marked the beginning of a slew of bad press for Vista that ultimately led many businesses and consumers to reject the OS.

To avoid a repeat of those problems, Microsoft earlier this year order... Read more

Hi all.
Yesterday, I started having problems with my screen display (it didn't show anything when I tried to boot the computer).

I was able to boot into safe mode and disable the driver to fix the booting issue.

The problem now is that I can't play games with the basic driver and when I downloaded and tried installing a newer version of the driver from intel's site, it brought back the original problem and I had to disable it once again.

So is there anyway to permanently fix this issue without having to disable the Intel(R) Graphics driver ?

Hello,

I already created a Service Ticket but they couldn't help me with this problem. We are testing several system with Windows 10 and all of them have the same problem. The display driver keeps crashing and recovering, but when this happens the screen freezes a few seconds and some programs crash because of it.

The error message is: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I have tried latest drivers from Lenovo, Windows Update. Fresh Windows 10 install or upgrade from Windows 7. All have the same problem. Also tried drivers directly from Intel, but they wouldn't install, saying I need the drivers from the manufacturer (Lenovo).

Please update the graphics drivers for ThinkCentre Windows 10, because this is really the only thing stopping us from upgrading to Windows 10 in our company.

Thank you.

Hello,

I upgraded my MSI Netbook U130 from XP to W7 x64 (I know, why x64 why not just 32-bit? - well that is because I actually upgraded two machines, and the other one was a more recent Lenovo XP machine, and I wanted to download only one type of W7 because of the large download and just purchased two activation keys, that's why). And x64 runs just fine on the Atom processor I have in the MSI Netbook, plenty fast and stable.

Anyway I need a Graphics Driver that works for 64 bit. I have the plain "vanilla" Microsoft driver that will only support 800x600 (not the 1024x600 the U130 used to support on XP), and I don't have the second monitor support I have used on XP to play movies from the VGA output on the side of the Netbook to the computer input of my TV.

MSI shows only a 32-bit driver for W7, and of course that is incompatible (yes I tried to install it anyway). Talked to the MSI tech support and they said that unit is too old and they did not bother with creating an x64 driver for W7.

Does anyone know if Intel has one for the Atom processor and the motherboard onboard (G3550?) graphics, or from any other source? I have tried advertised drivers from two sources (Driver Detective and the MSI scanner driver folks called DGTsoft) and neither of the drivers they supplied work, plus I spent $60 finding that out. DGTsoft actually listed 64-bit drivers, but unless I got the wrong one it was not 64-bit. I have asked for a refund, that was the only driver I n... Read more

Hi Norm,
W7 came driver complete, generic + manufacturers.
IT might have yours in its store.

Open Device manager >> update Driver >> Browse >> LET ME CHOOSE >> UNTICK show compatible >>
there might be a MSI in the left hand column DEFINATELY an Intel.
Select MSI/intel then in the right hand column scroll thru see if you can see yours.
IF its there install it IGNORE if it states not signed.
(have you used the Personlise option see screenshot)
As for your licence MS doesn't care if its 32/64 the licence is VALID for both.
Swapping will mean ANOTHER re-install
