Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked ? the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.
Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected ? or maybe not quite as expected. I?ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven?t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.
Very strange. Anybody know what?s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.
I need a calendar program for my computer since I recently upgraded my computer with student office 2007, which doesn't have outlook like the 2003 edition. Can I have any suggestions? I don't want a web based program that needs that internet to function.

I am running Outlook 2003 on a Dell Laptop with WIndows XP. For the longest time, my Calendar has been automatically deleting almost all events older than 3 or 4 weeks. I have turned off the AutoArchiving function all together, but it still happens. I also have tried looking for any old calendar events in my Archive.PST file, but there does not seem to be anything in these files worthwhile.
So, how do I stop this from happening and where do my old events end up going, if not to the Archive.pst folder?
Setup: Outlook 2002 in a domain to an Exchange server.
We have a shared calendar to which everyone can view and add events. If an employee takes a day off, they put an all-day event in the shared calendar that shows them as being off that day, thereby allowing everyone else to know who is in and who is not. Normally, everyone can see those events with no problem when viewing a single day. The problem occurred on Friday when 13 people took the day off. If anyone had their screen resolution set to 800x600 (which most people do), then they could only see the first 10 all-day events with no scroll bars available to see the other three. The only way for them to view the other three is to change their screen res to 1024x768 and then close and reopen Outlook. Problem is, most people have 15" LCD monitors, so using 1024x768 is not acceptable, especially considering that some need 640x480 to view their screen.
As you might imagine, I am having a devil of a time finding anything online about this and how to change it. I have scoured through Outlook, ms.com, slipstick.com, and this board to find an answer, but I have found nothing helpful. I am hoping that their is some sort of registry tweak or something to make this go bye-bye.
If anyone has any idea at all on how to fix this, please oh please won't you help?!? And would someone please think of the children!
I have Outlook connected to exchange and recently some of the calendars events are off by one hour. This occur almost immediately after I was able to use my iPad to check calendar events via Activesync. I also have my Android phone connected to Exchange as well. Funny thing is only Outlook is effected. All calendars events appear correct on iPad, Android and OWA. I made sure the time zone are correct on the machine running Outlook and also made sure Outlook is set to the correct time zone. Anyone had similar issues with this?
Could be time setting error on the exchange server itself
We use the shared calender in Gmail for keeping track of company events etc. but at this stage we need something better as we have more events to keep track of and more departments getting involved etc. Is there anyway of making the basic Gmail calendar into an updateable spreadsheet calendar that can be accessed by the entire office and/or specific department?
This is all new to me so really glad to get any advice.

Using MS Outlook 2003, I would like to distribute events that I have scheduled on my caldendar to the other email accounts in our office. Normally I would just invite recipients, but the other email accounts need to automatically accept the event. Even when I uncheck "Request Responses," the recipients are still required to click "Accept."
How can I change this so that these calendar events are automatically accepted by the other accounts?
I have a user that has logged into a PC opened up his calendar and can see all his events (appointments) for a given day.
Now when he logs onto another PC and opens up his calendar and goes to the same day he is missing some events?? (it is actually the last 4?)
Any ideas why this may be happening?? (Note PC would recently have been updated to 2003 from XP)
When I go to print preview in my calendar in outlook 2002, it only displays my recurring events and appointments. None of the individual, one-time entries are there. Same thing when it prints, only the recurring ones. The other are all there on the screen but they just don't show in preview or print. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
Last week I had a registry corruption that forced me to revert to a registry copy from right after I installed Win2k. (I back up my data regularly, but I'd gotten careless about backing up the registry. Learned my lesson the hard way. I have a current ERD now...)
I've gotten most apps running OK again, but I've run into a problem with Outlook. I use it only for the calendar functions. I can open the calendar and all my existing appointments are there and OK. I can delete existing appointments. But if I try to enter a new appointment, or save changes to existing appointments, I get an error: "The item could not be saved to the folder. The folder has been deleted or removed, or you do not have permission."
Since I can access and delete appointments, obviously there are no folder access problems. I searched on the MS KB and on the web, and everything I could find referencing this error message says "you've exceeded the max mailbox size, go delete some mail." I don't use Outlook mail, and my calendar file is tiny, so that's not it.
I'm guessing there's some problem with the registry. It's also possible I outsmarted myself when I recovered from the registry crash. I had to recreate my login ID, but when I did, W2k assigned me to the folder "Gary.W2k" in Documents and Settings. (Actually I think it had done this before, and this time it created "Gary.W2k.000.") Help, recently (as in about two weeks ago) my Outlook2000 calendar has suddenly started showing all the appointments (birthdays from contacts and and holidays are all I have use it for) as "Multi-day events". They really shouldn't be of course - but something has gone terribly wrong in the program.
Does anyone have any idea what caused this or how to fix it with out having to delete all the birthdays and reenter them individually?
This is very frustrating....
thanks for any assistance!

I'm trying to help a friend who has just installed Office 2016 on her computer, which was recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10.
She's been using Outlook.com and has accumulated a fair amount of email, contacts and calendar appointments. I've managed to get her email to show up by adding it to Outlook 2016 as a POP3 account. I was able to import her contacts into Outlook 2016 from a file called OutlookContacts.csv. Now I'm trying to get her calendar with all its many calendars and appointments into Outlook 2016.
I'm not sure why but the appointments all show up just fine in Mail and Calendar for Windows 10, even though we did nothing to put them there (as far as we know). But she'd like them to appear when she clicks on the Calendar in Outlook 2016 and I can't find any information on how to do that. I've also looked for some kind of Export function in the Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 app but I came up empty.
How do I get her calendar into Outlook 2016?
I can't be the only one who finds Microsoft *awful* at documenting this kind of basic functionality. Millions of people must have tried to do the same thing before me but if there's any information out there on how to do this, it has eluded me so far....
You can manually export calendars from Outlook.com using a round-a-bout method I posted at this link. However, I don't think that's going to help you because what you really want to do is set up Outlook 2016 so that her email, calendar and contacts sync with (and stay in sync with) her Outlook.com account.
Therefore, instead of setting email up as a POP account and then importing calendar, contacts, etc. separately, why not just setup Outlook 2016 to work with her Outlook.com account? I haven't done it with Outlook 2016, only older Outlook versions that used Hotmail Connector, however the following instructions for Outlook 2016 seem fairly straight forward.
If she has two-factor authentication switched on for her Outlook.com account, then you may need to generate an app password from her Outlook.com account, and use that as the password instead of the actual Microsoft Account password.
I have the syntax for copying the entry to another public folder but am wondering if anyone has a mock up of what the destination code would like to copy it to another mailbox via VBA?
Here is what I use for the public folder, which works fine right now:

Re: Outlook 2003
Is there is a way to designate a Shared Outlook Calendar (that is used as our company-wide calendar) as an individual's default calendar. We are set up with a Microsoft XP Exchange Server.
The goal is to have the company-wide calendar download to a Blackberry Curve as the user's default calendar. Right now he sees his own calendar which he does not need. We have the Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on his network computer.
As an addendum, it would be preferable that the Outlook/Blackberry user not be able to modify the office-wide Shared Calendar (should there be a way for him to see it) so that all changes still go through our calendar maven. Thank you.
It seems that Google?s sync program just syncs it's calendar with the default Outlook calendar.
Does anyone know if there is any way to just sync one particular calendar with Google's? Not Outlooks default calendar. I don?t want all my personal info going over to a ?group Google? calendar.

my online outlook calendar does not sync with my Windows Calendar app. I am talking about the online calendar which can be accessed after sign-in here: Prihláste sa do svojho konta Microsoft which for me used to always take all the information from my desktop calendar app, and vice-versa, when I entered an event online, it also appeared in my desktop app. This was useful for syncing with my phone and generally accessing my calendar when not having my laptop on me. This is now impossible for me to do.
Now they don't sync and it's quite annoying, I am getting desperate and thinking of using some other app (if you have tips, tell me. I went through this: Resolve sync issues in Mail and Calendar apps in Windows 10 - Office Support it did not solve the problem. I have updates on (I apply them manually). I have Windows 10 all up to date. and all settings allow calendar to be synced. I checked if I am signed in to the same account, I only have one account in the app and the same one online.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Also, I am adding a picture if it helps, on the left is my calendar, when I access it online, on the right is my Windows App. You can clearly see that there is a lot more on the right. I just want the events to appear in the online calendar as well, as they did before...
I use Outlook as my primary calendar app at home, and either GMail or my iPhone calendar when I am away. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get these three services to talk to each other.
Does anyone know of any programs or services I can use to keep my calendar synchronized? I wouldn't mind dropping GMail from the loop entirely and just having Outlook <-> iPhone synching to each other. Or if anyone has any suggestions for other super awesome calendar apps I'd consider that - but I admit I am pretty fond of Outlook at the moment.
Thanks for your help.
Are you using a personal email account with Outlook, or a company account? If you're using a company account, you can set up your email on your iPhone using the Exchange account setup wizard, and that will sync over your calendar to your phone.
If you're using a personal email account, it's probably either POP or IMAP. Outlook calendar and contacts can be synced to your iPhone, but you'll have to use a manual sync with the phone connected to the computer: http://www.sync-iphone.com/contacts-calendars-email/sync-iphone-with-outlook.html#sync-iphone-with-outlook-two-way
You can also sync Outlook to Gmail, but you'll again need to hool up the phone to the computer and download Google's calendar sync program to your desktop: http://www.ehow.com/how_7172202_sync-outlook-calendar-gmail-calendar.html
Hope this helps.

I do not like windows live mail. I find that is not very good. So I set outlook up with my hotmail account. But this has 2 seperate contact lists and 2 seperate calendars. I put my contacts into the new list, but is there any way of importing this stuff into outlook so i don't have to copy it whenever i add a new thing to the calendar?
From W Mail use file and import and export. From OUtlook, it should be the same.

I have been using Outlook 2003 for many years then upgraded to 2007, which I've used for years.
Typically I would enter appointments into my calendar in my Outlook 2007 and sync that with my phone....the blueberry or iPhone 3GS....I upgraded to the iPhone4 and have put appointments into my iPhone and synced my iPhone using iTunes (which normally syncs my Outlook calendar as well).
However, I've noticed recently some appt's put into my phone were not showing up on my Outlook Calendar....more snooping and I've just tonight discovered I have another calendar named iSync-Calendar.ics! Well, that's where many of my missing appointments were found!!
So I look closer at my iPhone4 and go to settings>calendar> and look for my default calendar which is iSync-Calendar.ics!!!
I am assuming that somehow that got switched, but used to be "calendar" which was outlook.
I am hoping this doesn't happen in the future..but for now I'm displaying both Calendar and iSync-Calendar.ics on Outlook so I can see all my appointments!!
Glad I caught that tonight as I have double and tripled booked some time slots in the future not seeing them on my iPhone since default calendar was iSynch and NOT calendar and vice versa!!!
Do you think I corrected the problem? Can I sync the iSync appts into or import them into my Calendar??
Is there a procedure for syncing the calendar app in Win 10 with the Outlook 2013 calendar? I have been trying to sync my calendar in Outlook 2013 with my Blackberry Z30 in Blackberry Blend and Blackberry Link. So far I can only sync Windows 10 contacts with my BB Z30. Selecting the Calendar app isn't an option -- see the attachment. The Blackberry help and support sites are neither helpful nor supportive.
Not really. RIM software is hard to do. Try setting up the email settings with calendat on the phone. I know that howardforums.com is the best cellular forum that may still have their RIM forum up.
I use Sunrise with Chrome, so that I can sync my iCloud Calendar.
I synced my iPhone with my Outlook for the first time and all my calendar events (all are work-related) have been deleted from my computer! The ones from the past that I accepted from my iPhone's outlook are still on the phone. I can't figure out how to sync the iPhone to the Outlook. I do not have Google Calendar.
I have tried Edit -> Preferences -> Devices -> Reset Sync History, but I think that only applies to resetting the device info, not the computer.
My iTunes settings are such that devices do not automatically sync. In iTunes under my iPhone and Info, I have it to sync Outlook -> All Calendars (as there is only one on this comp).
Please help! I need all my calendars to be available at all times.
I hope this helps: How to Repair & Recover Outlook Calendar | eHow.com
I am anxious to know if it helps, please reply with the result.
I use outlook 2003 with Win XP. I have an extensive calendar set up with hundreds of appointments. A few days back it was misbehaving. I wanted to delete an appointment, and somehow ended up deleting the entire calendar. All that I did was click "delete" in the pull down menu under edit. The calendar disappeared completely.
Now when I left click on Calendar, nothing opens. If I was in mail, the display continues to be mail. In the sidebar, the list of calendars presents, but none of them are the main calendar.
Now here's the strange part. The calendar is still functioning and is synchronizing with my smart phone. And, I've discovered by right clicking on calendar, (which presents the option to open in a new window) and opening in a new window, the calendar is visible. It just isn't visible in my normal Outlook session where I toggle between mail, calendar, contacts and tasks.
Here is another strange thing. After I open the calendar in a new window, the sidebar permits me to toggle between mail, address book, tasks, etc. However as soon as I do that, the calendar no longer is visible and I have to reopen it in a new window again.
I already tried going back to a restore point prior to the problem. It didn't make any difference. Is there a solution so that I can restore my calendar view in Outlook 2003.

I've had a persistent problem for several months since I migrated to a new hard drive. Outlook 2010 calendar is working, but only in Active List view. Any attempt to change to Preview or Calendar view produces the error message, "Could not read the calendar." Changing from Active List to List works some of the time, but inconsistently and sometimes it will hunt for the list and offer the same "Could not read the calendar." error message. This is very frustrating as I find it difficult to manage the list view and am accustomed to seeing the calendar week view.

Hello. All of my events in my Yahoo calendar have disappeared. I've gone 3 weeks now without access. I have a business account with Yahoo so they have "escalated" the issue, which I now understand is a joke since their front line people are outsourced and give me the same scripted "working on it" BS every time I call and today advised me that they have no method of communication with their escalation team. I have given up on them fixing it. I thought it was a sync issue with my iPhone/iPad however I cannot even pull up the data on the yahoo site under my login via my Windows XP or Windows 10 laptops. I thought I had on my iCloud but Apple corrected me stating that is not the case because Yahoo is a 3rd party. I've been experiencing a problem with the Windows 10 Calendar app - it shows duplicate events.
I'm using a Microsoft account (Outlook.com) and have it configured on the computer. Mail app Works ok and syncs. Calendar App shows duplicate events. If I access the same calendar on Outlook.com the calendar shows OK with no duplicates. On another computer with the same Setup the calendar does not show duplicates, Works as expected so this seems a problem confined to this one computer only.
This Windows 10 instalation is about a month old (installed from scratch - no upgrade from 8) and has all published MS updates instaled and also all app updates.
Have tried to uninstall the Calendar app, rebooted, reinstall the app, but duplicates persist.
Any ideas? Thank you.
Hello and welcome
Is every event duplicated or just some of them? I have a few duplicated that are usually related to things like birthdays where I have multiple entries for the same person which I have never bothered to sort out but think it comes from the outlook birthday calendar.
My events only show up in the top half of the day in the monthly view so I can only get two events to show. The arrow points to more messages but it seems like I should be able to fit three events at least.
If you talking about Outlook calendar, it seems like this parameter depends on your window size. Third item shows up when your windows is about 730 pixels high (standard scaling), fourth - 900 pixels high. You can minimize ribbon (little arrow in the top right corner of the window) or change resolution to get more useful space on the screen, but looks like that's about it.2 more replies
Just installed Win10 yesterday, and taking a first look at the Calendar app. Unless I have overlooked something, this app has a flaw that makes it almost not worth using.
I'm using the app to display my Google Calendar events, a month at a time. In many cases, I have enough events scheduled for a single day that they won't all fit in the cell in Month View. Is there really no way to display all the events for a given date (including the ones that don't fit) in Month View? (For example, in the Calendar app on my phone, it is usually the case that not all the events for a given date show in the grid, but tapping the date in question displays a pop-up that shows them all). This app just runs them off the bottom of the cell. It doesn't even alert you to the fact that there are additional events for that date that it isn't displaying!
Dare I hope I'm missing something here?
I guess nobody shares my angst for the perceived shortcomings of the Calendar app.
All the same, thought I'd mention that I installed an app from the Store called One Calendar that seems to be free, and does not suffer from the above-stated problem (when viewing in Month View, if there are 'n' events that don't fit in the grid, One Calendar displays a little '+n' at the top of the cell, alerting you to the fact that there's more you're not seeing; then clicking on the cell brings up the Day View, so you can see it all).
All's well that ends well.
As of a few days ago, most of my calendar appointments from Oct 2015-Aug 2016 disappeared. One reocurring event from this period is still there, but all other events apart from Sept 13th 2016 have disappeared! Just suddenly! Please can someone tell me why this has happened? How can I restore the events I've lost??More replies

I changed the password to my Microsoft account a couple of days ago and now Facebook events won't sync to my Windows Phone, nor my Surface 2, nor in the online microsoft calendar application.
It shows old events but new ones doesn't pop up. I've tried various settings in the apps and in my Microsoft account settings online. I've tried removing the connection between my FB account and my MS account and reconnecting. I've tried removing the FB account from my phone and resyncronizing (couldn't find such an option on the Surface) but it changes nothing. Facebook events is enabled in the calendar settings on both devices and if I try to manually export my FB calendar to my microsoft calendar it tells me it cannot sync the same account twice.
So according to settings everything should work but nothing works at all!

I created an event using the voice recognition in Cortana on my Lumia 930. Fine. Worked beautifully, but it didn't sync with my live.com calendar or Outlook so I created it again manually later. Then I wanted to delete the event Cortana created ... and I couldn't. I have restarted the handset, checked within the 'Reminders' section of Cortana's menu, and tried to delete it within the Calendar app. I still seem unable to remove this rogue event.
I contacted Microsoft support (or their hopeless UK representatives B2X with their slogan 'Chat with an expert', which is just a joke) and was first told to 'enable deletion of Cortana items within the Cortana menu'. There is no such option. Then they told me to delete it from live.com. It doesn't sync with live.com, which is how I came to create the second event. Finally I was told that the only way to remove the rogue 'Cortana events' would be to do a factory reset on my, which seems a little over the top.
There has to be a better way.
I suspect that I am not able to do what I would like to but will ask the questions just in case...
I use the Ms calendar on my Lumia 920 which in turn updates the online version at the Ms Live website as well as the Windows Live calendar accessed via my email client.
All good so far.
Problems started when I gave the wife access to my calendar but she keeps forgetting to check it before making appointments for us (which conflict with important things like my golf).
I thought there was a way of having the calendar create an automatic email whenever I added a new event and have that email sent to the wife to alert her to my latest meeting/tee time.
Checked all places where I would have expected to find an option to make the wife a recipient of alert emails but have failed. Seems I can send an update/new event alert to myself but to nobody else.
Can somebody confirm that to be the case. (If I have selected the wrong category for this posting then apologies.)
Thanks in advance.
What if you add your wife in the entry you make in your agenda ("add someone" required or better optional) in that case she will get an e-mail (to except) and this entry will also be in your wives calendar.
Not sure if this is the right category but I also do not know which category should fit better.:)
I had to replace my hard drive (nothing was salvageable on it) and I lost all of my events, however, I invited others to the events. Is there a way to add the events back from an invitee? I tried having them send me an event accepted email, but it just says - This meeting is not in the calendar, it may have been moved or deleted.
Welcome to the forums @CParah . Sorry to hear that your drive bit the dust, I know what a pain that can be!
I don't think there's a way to do what you are asking unfortunately. I'm guessing you're storing calendar information locally, rather than using an Exchange/Office365/Google server? There are some free options to store your calendar information on a cloud server so that you can just sync to recover the data (and access it on your phone, etc...). Not much help now, but may help you out should it happen again in the future.
Have you still got the hard drive? There are data recovery tools that may help you get back some data, but perhaps you have already tried this.
Previously I was using Outlook Calendar, which allowed me to color-code individual events. I assigned a color to a particular type of event. I don't see this option on Windows Live Calendar. Am I overlooking something? I understand that I can adjust the overall color scheme, but that is not what I'm after. Thanks for your help.More replies

Frequent reader here, you guys and gals are great. Anyways, Even Google forums don't have the correct solution to sign in with another email address then return to the normal one. The problem is that with when you sign in with Google Calendar (all of a sudden) as a regular google calendar user, not an apps user, it gives a message saying Oops another Calendar has been created for... Then it disables a lot of the features. How do we get our calendars back, please help!
Thanks so much.
Can someone please help me, how to sync Nokia calendar with Windows Live Calendar on Win7?
is this any good to you. post#4
Unable to sync Nokia N8 with Windows Live Calendar - Portable Devices
On my friend's Win 8.1 computer, he accesses his email [email protected] using Gmail. He also has a Windows phone and accesses that same Gmail account there.
On the phone it is set to also sync the Contacts and Calendar. But the Contacts and Calendar are not syncing. He claims that it used to work, and that seems to be true since there are a lot of contacts listed on the phone.
I've done some research and found that Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is used for this syncing. I've also found that there is inconsistent info about whether or not GMail still supports EAS. Some sources on the web say Gmail does not support it any longer, some say they only still support it if you have Google Apps for Business. But my friend does have Google Apps for Business, I confirmed that by checking in his Gmail account, I can see the history of the billing, he has had it for almost two years.
Can anyone help clear this up?
If I enter an appointment on the native calendar app it is not pushing these appointments to other devices or even the browser outlook.com calendar view. Should it be doing so? It works the other way around. So if I enter an appointment on my phone (iOS) using the outlook setup on the calendar it does push the appointment to the calendar app on Windows 10. Just not other way round!
Ok, correction - it does work. Just took a while to push them out. About 30 minutes to come through. Pretty slow but at least it did it. Maybe servers are slow although I'm sure it's pretty instant the other way round !1 more replies

For anyone who syncs the Metro Calendar app with Google Calendar, does it show more than just your primary calendar? Mine only shows my primary and it's a little sparse because of it.
Thanks in advance,
Having the same problem. Hopefully MS is aware of this6 more replies
Birthdays are not showing in Live Mail calendar from my contacts.
I really need them to be showing.
How did you get the birthday information? Is it synced with Facebook?
I have been looking all over to try and find a way to sync my windows live calendar with gmail. I am only allowed to read my google calendar but not make changes... How do I set it up so it is not read only?
Try following the instructions that I found here How to Show Google Calendar In Windows Live Mail Calendar and let us know if that helps you out.
Have been trying for a while to sync windows 10 calendar on my laptop with windows 10 calendar on my wife's laptop. No luck so far.
I have linked both individual windows 10 calendars with our individual google calendars, and events transfer successfully from both windows 10 calendars, through both google calendars, but will not download to the other windows 10 calendar.
Is that clear?
What I am trying to say is that I can create an event on my windows 10 calendar, it transfers to my google calendar, and then to my wife's google calendar, but it does not load on to my wife's windows 10 calendar. This works both ways.
Help will be very much appreciated. Please note that while I use my laptop a great deal I have little insight into the technicalities. It's a tool!
I uploaded my school calendar to my google calendar so I can see it in my android phone but i had to delete it because there was a problem with it. When I try to upload it again I get the following error message :"Failed to import events: Some of the events in this file were not imported because you had imported them to Google Calendar before. Other events in this file have been imported.."
I have looked around online and some people said to open the file with text edit and delete the "UID." I did that but it did not help. Other people say to create another calendar and share it but that is also giving me problems.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem. I really need to have my calendar in my personal calendar that I have for my google account so I can keep my self sane and not get lost in grad school. Thank you for all your help.
Outlook 2007 running under Exchange server. We have a shared calendar used by all employees to show when they will be out of the office... vacations, part time, etc.
We also have Resource Mailboxes in Exchange so that when you click on the "Rooms" button when setting up an appointment, you can see the room schedule, then add your appointment to the room by inviting the room as an attendee.
The boss wants to do something similar with the shared calendar. When she puts an appointment on her private calendar that will take her out of the office, she wants to be able to press the equivalent of the "Rooms" button and have that appointment be automatically copied to the shared calendar so that everyone can see that she will be out of the office.
I've been trying to do a web search but unfortunately the search terms I have been using keeps telling me how to set up calendars, not how to pull off this trick.
Information greatly appreciated. TIA.
Does anyone know of a way to synchronize any local calendar client (like Outlook, Sunbird, or iCal) with any web based calendar (like Yahoo! Calendar or Google Calendar) automatically (i.e. without exporting and uploading .ics files)?
Yahoo does it
I signed in both in Windows Live Mail and Hotmail Calendar. However, my windows live calendar never picks up any event from Hotmail Calendar. Aren't they supposed to syn automatically? There is no buttons or place I can find in Windows Live Calendar to "subscribe" or "import." I have a bunch of events in Hotmail calendar but none in Windows Live Calendar, so I would like to have all the events shown on my Windows Live Calendar too. Please advise me?
I have several calendars under one Google Calendar account (usually by school subject and other important matters) but Metro Calendar app only syncs one default calendar, which I only use it to note Holidays.
Is there a way to sync all Google Calendars using Metro Calender app? Thank you!!
I recently created a Microsoft account on my Windows 8.1-running Dell XPS 12 laptop. After I realized that logging in through my new Microsoft account got rid of my calendar, I tried to revert to a local account. I believe I may have accidentally created a new local account with the same name and password as the original account by accident.
Is there anywhere where the calendar information from the original local account would have been saved? It seems to me that since I was not prompted in the process of making a Microsoft account to warn me of losing data from the local account, it should be backed up somewhere. Where could I find it?
Thanks in advance!
There are past calendar items that regardless how you delete them, they keep coming back after a couple of minutes.
They were deleted by declining the appointments, the delete button, from Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, and Outlook on the Web.
We even started Outlook /clearreminders command just in case.
Any idea how to fix this issue?
There was a app named Windows Calendar in Windows Vista, but Microsoft removed it in Windows 7. So i got the app. from somewhere and I want Windows Calendar to be the default calendar app. in Windows 7. How to set it ?
I want to sync my Windows Calendar & my Nokia device using Nokia Ovi Suite, but it just keeps on saying that Outlook or Windows Calendar must be installed in order to sync calendar. Please tell me how to set it to be default calendar app.

I have a user that is attempting to book a meeting on a calendar located inside of a public folder with herself as the only participant. She does this by going to the calendar, creating the meeting directly on it, and adding herself as a participant. The reply from calendar goes straight to her deleted items and does not show up on her personal calendar. The replay says that since she is the organizer no response is needed. Moving the reply into her inbox does not help since there is no button to add the meeting to her calendar. She can successfully book meetings this way on other users calendar. Using another account I am able to book meetings on this calendar without any problem. There are no rules or junk email protection turned on. I have turned calendar auto replay on and off, rebuilt the Outlook profile, turned caching on and off, installed all updates for Outlook 2010, gave her owner access to the calendar, and tried creating the meetings both by viewing the calendar through public folders and through shared calendars.
I know Public Folder's can be buggy but I can't figure out why only one user is having this issue. Anyone have any ideas?
The replay says that since she is the organizer no response is needed
A random thought: Would it work to add another person to her Calendar? She could use a pseudonym/alias for herself.
I have a user that uses the calendar a lot in the current work day mode. She says that in the past it only showed hours 8:00am to 5:00pm, but now it shows everything. I am not aware of a way to limit the hours shown, does anyone have any suggestions. Going into tools >> calendar options and change settings there I haven't been able to do it.
This is outlook 2003 btw.
I think if you set the work week to 7 days, that's what it displays. If you set it to 5 days, I believe the hours changehttp://burgetave.com/id17.html2 more replies
What do I have to do to be able to view and edit my bosses calendar. I know that I learned how to do this but what settings or permissions do I set on both his and my computer. WE are using XP Pro.
you need to share his calendar and this can be done with netfolders up through Outlook 2000 after that you need 3rd party software (which I recommend anyway - lots easier) I just installed this program Tuesday and it works great
All of a sudden when I view the monthly calendar, it is diffrerent from my usual view--has clocks all over it--and also the times of my events have changed--I have tried changing 'view'-but cannot get rid of the clocks--please help--I depend on this and am going crazy. Thanks

When I click on a date in my calendar to make an appointment, the "All Day Event" box is the default and I have to change that to make an appintment in 1/2 hour increments. How can I change it so that the default is the "start time/end time"?
I do not have this problem when, in calendar, I click "New" below the menu.
Is there a way to print a blank calendar? I keep many appointments on my calendar, and need to start another one.
Print blank calendars Help
Assistance > Outlook 2003 > Calendar and Scheduling
You can use Outlook to print a blank calendar. Blank calendars may be useful to take notes on or to consult when you meet to discuss a project with your team.
Print a blank calendar
On the File menu, point to New, and then click Folder.
Type a name for the folder.
In the Folder contains list, click Calendar Items.
In the Select where to place the folder list, click Calendar, and then click OK.
On the Go menu, click Folder List.
In the Folder List, click the new folder you just created.
On the File menu, point to Page setup, and then click the print style you want.
Select the print style options you want, and then click Print.

I've set my options to show task reminders in my Outlook calendar, yet when I create a task with a start and end date, and set a reminder, it doesn't show on my calendar.
Am I doing something wrong?
Wow... I didn't know that you could see your Task list on your Calendar... I thought Tasks were seperate from the calendar... two different things...
The task list shows on Outlook Today screen.
Where did you find the option to display them on your calendar?
Several weeks ago I was invited to an event this past weekend as were several hundred other people. I was not planning to attend the event. On Saturday I was doing my weekly system housekeeping, and I went to my Outlook Calendar and I canceled the event. Evidently my personal cancellation went back to everyone else who had been on the original invitation and was perceived as a cancellation of the event. I have been lambasted all over the place because I "canceled the event". What did I do wrong, and am I correct that it was basically a perception issue by those receiving my personal cancellation and somehow thinking that I had canceled the event? Help?
I'm not totally sure what you mean by you cancelled the event. However when removing events sent to multiple reciepients through Outlook just right click and delete the event and I will not populate to anyone else.6 more replies
It seems as though my outlook calendar is corrupt, it won't secheule any appointments correctly on my main calendar. On my sub calendars that I created it schedules fine. When I try to save an appointment on my main calendar it saves it on the wrong date and time. For instance, if i tried to save an appointment @ 2:30pm on June 24th, it would save it as June 3rd @ 10:38am.
I have tried deleting my profile and performed a repair on microsoft office xp and i am still experiencing the same problem. Please help!
Thank you in advance.

My harddrive was just cleaned up, and instead of office 2002 it came back with 2003--I cannot get the calendar, when in 'month' mode to show all days equally--it wants to scrunch up the week-ends--I know there must be some way to do it, because I had my old system set up that way. please help--thank you
Easy one. When in calendar:
Customize Current View
Under Month, uncheck "Compress weekend days"
I used to be happy with Works 2002 calendar reminders. They came on at startup without the program being on. Now I have Outlook 2003 and the reminders only work whem the program is on. Does anyone know how to automatically turn them on at startup without the rest of the program.
outlook needs to be up and running.
drag it into the startup folder, reboot.

Some staff in our executive branch have brand new laptops (lucky guys) with Office 2007[Of07]. They are creating calendars which need to be shared with other employees, most of which are running only Outlook 2003 [OL03].
Calendar(s) are made, and invites sent for specific calendars to specific groups of users.
IE: Regional Sales Mgr. creates several supplemental "events" calenders he wants to share with his different teams.
---Default, Corporate, Dist1, Dist2, Dist3, Region
---DistGrp1, DistGrp2, DistGrp3
---Dist1 calender --> DistGrp1
---Dist2 calendar --> DistGrp2
---Dist3 calendar --> DistGrp3
---Region --> DistGrp1, DistGrp2, DistGrp3
All OL03 users get an email with a link to Microsoft explaining how to open shared calendars. Off07 users get the icon to click and open specified calendar.
OL03 user then follows MS instructions, and pulls up the Off07 user's default calendar, with no option to open or even locate any other calender.
Is there something lacking here? Anyone have any work-a-rounds for OL03 users to open a shared calendar (other than the default or main calendar) of an OFF07 user?

Ive got an Outlook 2003 using Boss and a Outlook 2002 using Assistant who are having issues with sharing their calendar. The assistant is inputting appointment data into her bosses Outlook 2003 Calendar.
The issue is : The 2002 user puts in a whole day appointment on a given day (say 10/10/2004). When she opens her bosses 2003 calendar, the same appointment is still a whole day, but it stretches across 2 days (in this case 10/10/2004 and 11/10/2004). Both users use common Regional Settings (Australia).
Outlook 2002 user is at Office XP SP3.
Outlook 2003 user is at Office 2003 Pro SP1
Exchange Server 2000 (sp unknown)
Anyone have any ideas for me?
How can someone using Outlook 2002 send a calendar by e-mail? Not in a pst file but a DOC that can be opened and printed.
you can do a File > Save as a webpage... then send the file or put it on a server where they can access it. It's in calendar format
Or you can export it to Excel. It only exports your appointments though and you can specify the dates.
