The Stylus Pro 7600 is now a really old printer, the last supported driver was for XP but it worked in Windows 7 and I believe to some extent in 8 although I never did try it.
It s a really good reliable large format printer though and very affordable in parts, ink and the second-hand purchase price.
However alas Windows 10 doesn't like it, I did the upgrade to 10 (and then the downgrade) from windows 7 but it will not see the driver it sees the device but calls it a USB high speed device or something like that and compatibility mode didn't seem to help.
So unless there is a clever work around and I'd love that to happen I'm stuck on Windows 7 for the duration.
No cleverness here, and I don't have such a printer, but...
Have you tried the drivers for Vista?
Epson Stylus Pro 7600 - Photographic Dye Ink, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
These are for the dye-based version. I didn't look to see whether the Ultrachrome based one uses different drivers.
(There are also 32 bit Windows.) If they don't want to install, you could try right clicking on the installer and running the Troubleshoot Compatibility tool.
After being offline for 3 years (ax.), my Epson Color Stylus 440 Printer's finally reloaded with twin ink carts & paper, but since I changed my pc from Win95 (lemon) to WinXP, I was "delighted" to find that the Epson Printer Drivers download page doesn't have ANYTHING that supports my o/s!!
After doing it (like a government) I finally found that the driver for Win2000 the closest thing that works --- now I find a brand-new problem: -
I can't get the ink to flow on the paper (print ANYTHING). Oh, it goes thru 'the motions', but there's no print!
Any ideas, Troops? Please help me. I've got a s***load of stuff that NEEDS to be printed!!
Can anyone provide instructions to get the vista 64-bit driver for an Epson 7600 working in Windows 8? Epson will not provide a new driver. The vista driver worked in windows 7. I followed the instructions on the Epson driver website, but the driver installation did not work. The printer shows up as an unrecognized device in the Win 8 hardware list.
Not a direct answer to your question but the Epson site says drivers for Win 8 64-bit drivers can be expected soon.
they also state in the meantime to use the Win 7 driver and state how to install it. Apparently the Win 8 fault USB driver needs to be uninstalled first. Check it out and see if it helps:

i dont undertsand one thing why is that i cant install printer driver why it gives error what could be the problem..please help..thanks in advance....................
Some printers require you to install the drivers with the printer USB unplugged. Also if it isn't a windows seven driver then you need to try it in compatibility mode. Either the ones form the Epson site or the one off the CD. Compatibility Mode Give this a try and see what happens. Fabe2 more replies

I have the above printer and wish to install the driver on to my Mini HP netbook. Problem is i have no CD drive and the Epson website thinks I have Windows NT?
Would be great if i could get a driver installed and running so i can print via wireless!
I have Windows 7starter.
Can anyone help me out?
on the Epson UK site just scroll down to W7 (chose whether X-64 / x-86)
seems to work fine.
Couldn't find this model on the USA site so it must be a European version.

I have been trying to get my to print. I have tried reinstalling it to get it to work. I am getting this
A communication error has occurred.
Check all cable connections and make sure all devices are on. If an operation check pattern is printing, reset the device by turning it off and on again. If the device was turned off during printing, cancel the print job. If the error still does not clear, see the manual's troubleshooting section to cancel the error.
I tried turning it off and on again. I can't find any info in the user manual to fix it. I don't know if I have my port setting correct because I can't find any info to tell me what port to use. I have a check by work offline also and the pause printing isn't checked.... still I can't print anything. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time God Bless.................

Unable to locate driver for this printer for WIN-98
You can use the windows 95 drivers for windows 98. If you check the documentation, search for 98, you'll see they use the same driver for both 95 and 98. They're almost identical operating systems. Although I'm 99.5% this should work, you might want to get a second opinion.
I have a problem with a Epson printer. When I install the software that is delivered with the printer the following problem occures:
The software can't connect to the printer.
The computer sees the new hardware but can't find a driver.

I have just installed Windows 7. I have a Stylus cx4700 printer combination with scanner. The printer works great but i cant get the scanner to work. Ive tried with instructions from Epson but it still will not work. Any ideas.
What instructions have you tried (links?)
Have you installed the latest drivers and the scanning software that comes with the hardware?
I have tried unsucessfully to install the printer driver for this Epson printer (NX420). Have spent many, many hours on phone with Epson support, emails etc. Changed security settings, turned off virus protection, used disk which was supplied, downloaded drivers from website, downloaded drivers to another computer and copied to DVD and tried to install from that DVD. Error message continues to say, "Driver not found". All efforts have failed. Printer works fine on Win XP computer, no problems. Epson says "there is a problem with your Win7 computer to not allow the download."
Forgot to add that this Win 7 Desktop is on a home network with a wireless laptop running Win XP. Both are Dell computers if that matters.
Can anyone offer some help???
Thanks in advance

This computer is a Dell Dimension and has been operating the above printer for something like 5 years - ok well out of its warranty!
I moved it to another room (this one) and it showed a problem 'Communication Error' so I thought 'uninstall and reload' - as you do! Wrong cuz now I can't load a driver.
I've downloaded the Epson Stylus latest driver called epson11887.exe EasyPrint. But it hasn't worked.
It still says 'no printer attached'
Anyone solved this one yet?
Many thanks in advance of any replies.

Can anyone advise where I can get a Vista (64 bit) printer driver for the Epson RX620 so I print from my Dell laptop. I have followed the instructions that appear on the Epson downloads & drivers site as follows;
<Description: Windows Vista drivers for this model are included in the Vista operating system. To install, simply power-on and connect your Epson product to your computer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Compatible Systems: Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit>
Having follwed the search instructions there does not appear to be any suitable driver available either on the C drive or the Drivers & Utilities disk ('already installed on your computer') which came with the laptop.
As expected, the Epson CD which came with the printer (a number of years ago) does not include a driver for Vista.

Hi. I am a computer dumby and I just got a new computer. My new computer obviously has Vista on it (apparently Vista SP1, if that means anything) and I am trying to setup my printer (Epson Stylus CX4200). I inserted the printer disk and part way through the download, a screen called the "Program Compatibility Assistant" popped up saying that the "Epson printer driver setup utility is incompatible with this version of Vista". What does this mean? What do I do to get my printer setup on my new computer? Help!
it means the setup program itself is incompatible, not the drivers.just grab the latest drivers from the epson website.2 more replies

I have an Epson C80 printer and use Windows 98 SE. The printer is only a few months old so I haven't had to do anything to it yet. One of my children said the blue ink color was not looking great so I tried to check how full the cartridge is, there is a utility that is supposed to do this. (Also, this printer has the 4 seperate cartridges.)
When I call up the main page, I notice that the four bars across the bottom of the box, which are supposed to be colored and reflect approximately what the levels of ink in each cartridge are, are blank. I click on the utility tab and click the box that says Epson Status Monitor, then the box to check for ink levels. This opens a box with an icon flashing that says "Communication Error - check that all connections are on and that all devices are on, cancel print job if power went off during a job. Consult product documentation if this does not solve problem." At the bottom of this box are the same four ink level bars, all of them blank. I click "Information" and it displays a notice that says all ink cartidges are "Unknown", all levels are "Unknown."
The manual doesn't give me any clue what's wrong here. I checked that the ink monitor is running at Startup - it is. Except I remember I used to see it flash in the tray for a moment when I first got the printer, now it doesn't do that anymore. So I disabled it in Startup, then enabled it again, but still no dice.

I have tried numerous times to get my epson perfection 1200U running with windows me. I've gone to Epson and they've told me how to remove old drivers and install new ones. Hi Shaurya,Welcome to Dell community.
Yes you can use stylus pen with this system.

Hi using an Epson printer NX 400 with my vista home premium pc and was wondering how to get the printer to use black only for text printing and then when my color inks are empty how do i use black ink only ?
And how do i use the quiet mode in the fastest speed or is that mode for next to fastest ? Amazing how noisy the fastest speed very shocking can anything be done to get it quiet ! ? - thanks . .
This is a lesson that the people who are making printers are in the money business and selling printers is just a means to that end. I, too, have an Epson, a Stylus Color 960. You cannot print black unless all colors are sufficiently full to print full color, whether you need color or not.
I contacted Epson years ago about this and that was their answer.
Quiet mode has always been slower on all the printers I've seen.
It's one year old, it is working fine for a while but it always create print roster for a lot of pages when the computer turned on and keep on pumping more and more.
2nd problem is that it has not been used for a year so now the print does not have any color. I did replace with new ink cartridge and kept on cleaing the nozzle so many times, it still print blank on black, a little line on color. Wasted $150 on new ink cartridge, 1st one ink was out in 2 minutes.
Any help will be appreciated.
There seem to be two different black ink cartridges available for the 800:
What might be the difference betwwen them?
Which might be better for graphics printing?
Epson website shows only the SO 20025 works with the 800, so I would go with that one. click here

I'm trying to print of a large banner, through photoshop cs.
The banner is 25cm high and 250cm long. I have made a custom paper size, gone through the print preview (where is fits the paper size and all looks fine) and then pressed print. it then prints out the first little bit of the banner rotated through 90 degrees and then auto paper cuts.
I have tried to fix it by rotating the initial image but it still doesn't work. Any ideas?`
Just a thought but leave the image the same size and direction and try Landscape print vrs Standard print?
I just purchased a epson stylus 780 printer. I have tried everything I can think of but I can't get it to print. My computer gives to a message that says - there was an error writing to LPT1 for the printer Epson Stylus Photo 780, there was a problem printing to he port.
I have done just like the directions say to do, over and over.
My computer is a HP Pavilion 8290.
Let me know if you need any other information.
Only thing I can think of is enter your bios setup and make sure the printer port is set to bidirectional, ecp, or epp and try it. It maybe a communication problem being that the printer needs two way comm and isn't getting it.
Hello Tech Support People! I own an Epson Stylus C64 Printer and have questions concerning an inkjet refill kit. The printer has 4 cartridges and I filled them appropriately, refilling black, magenta, cyan and yellow. (A few months ago I had a Lexmark and I had no problems with the refill kit and it printed beautifully) I was instructed to clean the cartridge heads 3 times before use, but it won't let me. The ink level message restates what it said before the refill, that the cartridges are empty. A new message says buy it online... blah, blah, blah.... so this is far as I can get with my attempt. Since the machine thinks it has no ink, it won't let me print. I figure this is an attempt by Epson to force an owner to buy their products at the much higher rate , but the kit says it will work on ANY and ALL PRINTERS. Would appreciate any input and information from you guys! THANKS NAN

I'm not familiar with the Epson Stylus 760, but most printers have an option in the properties to print with black ink only or print monochrome or greyscale only. Have you checked to make sure this option is not active?
I have an Epson Stylus 660 with a parallel connection. It has begun to print very slowly - several minutes for a few lines of text sometimes. I have tried changing the lead and have also tried my computer with another printer but there is no change. I have reinstalled the Epson software and have also reinstalled Windows 98 but no change. Any ideas?
Have you gone to the EpsonAmerica home site and checked to see if there are any new drivers available for your Epson 660?
In a lot of cases, this will cure the problem. Do I understand that you have tried your computer with another printer and you found no differences? Also, have you cleaned and aligned the printheads as explained in your manual? Have you defraged your computer lately? Also do you close all other applications while printing? Gary
Hi. Hope you experts can puzzle out this one: my Epson Stylus 800 has been working happily for years, with 3 new computers. Now it doesn't know when it's out of black ink and neither nozzle check, head cleaning nor holding down black ink button 3 secs. and attempting to change will allow me to change the empty cartridge. Am I finally stuck with buying a new printer??? Thanks for any suggestions. Shoshana
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software? Also, have you gone to EpsonAmerica home site and checked to see if new drivers are available for your 800? Sometimes it is just a funny quirk that upsets the smooth operation. Try these suggestions and post back if they do or don't work. Gary
On a quad core Windows 7 64 bit Professional computer, we run three large format Epson Stylus Pro printers, 7800, 9800 and the new 7890 and use Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 photo editing software.
Our workflow is set up so that the printers manage color with Epson Standard sRGB.
There seems to be a miscommunication between PE9 and the printers. The first print of the day ALWAYS ignores color management settings and prints with "Custom" color management which results in a print that is too dark - even though the settings have been set and saved with "Automatic" color management. We have re-installed the software and the printer drivers in addition to trying to save our settings and reset the preferences.
Recently, settings have been reverting in this way even in the middle of the day instead of just the first one. Because this happens unpredictably, I have not been able to determine what is triggering the changes - which have ruined hundreds of prints.
Also (I'm not sure this is related) if a print job is cancelled from the 'Print Preview' screen - all saved paper sizes and configurations are erased.
Epson and Adobe online forums and email support have been useless - not even a mention of problems such as this or how to troubleshoot this sort of issue.
Has anyone had problems like this or have any idea how to correct this expensive and frustrating issue?
My Epson printer driver allows me to save a whole range of printer settings as "profiles" (not to be confused with proprietary printer profiles used in colour-management) .
These profiles are basically a saved "snapshot" of paper-size, colour settings, quality settings etc.
Selecting a saved profile just prior to printing automatically calls up the driver settings associated with it, and the driver settings are automatically adjusted accordingly.
Your Epson printer should have this feature I would have thought.

Why do i have to update since the driver is already up to date on my desktop? Also if I want to update the drivers on my laptop, I have to manually choose the port, which port do I choose? USB0001 is already taken from the computer downstairs but keep in mind im doing this over my network on my laptop. so which port do I choose?

Recently, my Epson Stylus RX630 displayed the message:
Parts inside your printer are at the end of your service life. See your printer documentation for details.
However, nothing is mentioned in the documentation.
After doing some online digging, I realized that it's got nothing to do with the printer being defective; it's in fact a software counter that's part of Epson's scheme for forcing people to maintain the printer every so often. Upon further googling, I found some software that resets this counter (SSC Service utility) however it only works up to RX620.
Anyone know of any solutions to this problem, either software or hardware? I'd hate to have to waste pointless bucks to pay epson for something I don't need (the ink cartridges are already so overpriced )
My Epson Stylus Color 600 had a user friendly printer option menu with Win 98. Now, with XP and a new driver, I have this useless "dumb downed" printer menu from which I cannot get the printer to print one decent photo. And believe me, I've tried all their "simple" option settings. So,....AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!! ....I'm a wee bit frustrated. Anyone out there know what I can do and how I can get a user friendly printer options window again??? [They "did" say that XP was a better OS, didn't they??]
When I click File-Print the printer dialog box that comes up is fine. However, when I click the printer properties button the dialog box that comes up is cut off on the right side not allowing me to see or use the "advance" button or the number of copies square. I have tried various resolution and pixel settings with no effect. The box gets bigger but the content is still cut off on the right side and there is just a wider clear margin to the right of the box. I have uninstalled the printer and then reinstalled. No effect. Ran anti-virus, anti-malware and spyware programs. Downloaded the latest drivers. It is apparently something missing in the Epson program because I have a Canon Selphy D5700 printer installed and a fax printer and the dialog boxes for them are OK.

Hi- I've checked the LPT1 port, & have run all the troubleshooting diagnostics. The printer will not print even though it has all new ink cartridges properly installed. All ideas are welcome, please! The printer was working fine, before replacing the ink cartridge. It refuses to print a test page.
I just recently found out from Epson that even if your only printing with black ink, the color cartridge is still being used to "build" each character that's printed. So if you just replaced the black ink cartridge, thinking the color cartridge is full.. replace that one also. The printer will not work if the color cartridge is empty... or the printer thinks it's empty. If you did replace both cartridges, then obviously one of them is bad... the printer still sees one of them, or both, as empty.

I have a real problem. I have an Epson colour stylus 680 that was printing, connected via USB to a laptop using vista. I disconnected the USB cable for a while and now it refuses to print anything. Odd facts:
- The printer is installed again every time I connect the cable, (annoying)
- The PC detects the cable automatically, but still it doesn't print
- The print command is getting sent through, but isn't actually printing
- I have changed the ports various times and deleted printers, reinstalled them, and rebooted, etc, to no avail.
I have called Epson, who said it's better I talk to Microsoft, who then directed me to PCworld/Advent, and still I can't get the thing to work. Last time, the guy at Epson, by trial and error, I think, managed to get it working, but heaven knows how. Any help, however it comes, is extremely welcome. Thankyou
Things I would try... not 100% bullet proof.
Uninstall the printer drivers and software, making sure no remnants still exists on your C:\ drive or Registry. Epson should have a Driver Sweeper or Uninstaller.
Download latest Vista x32 or x64 drivers for it... NO, Not the ones that came with the CD.
Go to Device Manager and Uninstall all USB Devices, making sure the Mouse or pointing device (if USB) is the last one you uninstall... it may take you a few tries. Once that is down, either reboot or "Scan for Hardware Changes" within the Device Manager options in Action (This is from XP, Vista may be different).
If nothing new exists as far as vista drivers, load the CD but do not use autoplay, instead, go to Explore and right click on the executable and "Run as Administrator" to see if that helps the issue.
I have been happily using this machine for some years with no problems but yesterday I tried to print a CD label and it failed to work.
The ink and paper feed lights are both flashing red and the "On" light is not lit. The status monitor reports "General fault" The notes and instructions that came with the machine are not very helpful.
When switched on the machine goes through its usual actions of checking the ink flow and the carriage moves across the platen then the warning lights come on.
Searching on the net I found one article which stated the printer had an internal counter which made the machine inoperable when a certain number of sheets had been printed, requiring servicing and resetting of the counter by an Epsom repair shop. The writer of the article also offered for sale a CD with software to reset the counter. Could this have anything to do do with with this?
Any suggestions or help would be gratefully received.
Just tried to install the drivers for the Epson Stylus C62 printer on a Win 98 machine and everything has gone crazy!!!
There is both a Centronics port and a USB prot on the printer. We followed the manufacturers installation instructions but no joy. Strange results indeed - when attempting to print the google home page, justthe top half of the google logo was printed, then on another sheet, the bottom 10% of the google page was printed.
We tried several installations but didn't manage to get anywhere. So, we then tried to revert back to the HP printer which worked fine before the Epson Stylus installation. Now we seem to be getting the same results with this printer as with the Epson!!
Has anyone experienced this type of error using this printer on '98 before ....
I don't know if this will apply to your situation.
I use epson printer and it worked fine. At some point, however, it started print my photos like your printer does. Into two pages.
I searched many sites and forum for the fix, but no luck.
Then Epson tech came up with this and fixed the problem.
What I did was, Opened up device manager and chose printer port, and then property. Update Driver from the driver tab, next, "display a list...", next, show all hardware, highlite (standard port type) on the left and "Printer Port" on the right.
Followed the instruction and the problem was gone.
I asked the Epson Tech why but he couldn't explain.
I hope this will work for you.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how I can install my new printer (Epson Stylus NX100) without using the installation CD. My CD-rom doesn't work right now. I have Windows Vista on emachines computer.
Thank you so much.
I presume its USB? just plug it in and windows should recognize it as to whether it will find a driver for it you will have to wait and see, hopefully it might be ok.if it doesnt work go to the Epson website and download a driver for it ...http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/...=63075420&infoType=Downloads&platform=Windows
I don't usually see printer questions on these forums, but hopefully I can post them.
Firstly, I am fed up with the speed at which my printer seems to be using ink. It seems to run out unbelievably fast, and i've read somewhere that the Epson Status Monitor tells the user it's out of ink, when in fact there is at least 25% still remaining. I agree with this. Is there a work around to this problem, or maybe an alternative to the Epson Status Monitor?
Also, I am thinking about buying some new inks, but I feel it would be better to purchase them online rather than in stores, because of the huge price difference. I am thinking of purchasing from www.bigink.co.uk , but I am unsure on what the quality is like, because as far as i'm aware they are not official cartridges. Has anyone had any success with cartridges that arn't branded by Epson?
I am also stuck to decide whether I should buy a pack of 4 sets of cartridges (all colours obviously) from here http://www.bigink.co.uk/products.php?arg[productid]=142&name=Epson+compatible.+Pack+of+4+sets.
or, a pack of two sets of high capacity cartridges from here http://www.prink.co.uk/ink-cartridges/pages/epsonc84photo.htm
I don't know how much ink in ml is in the basic Epson cartridges, so I can't work out which would be the better option. Can anyone help me here?
Anyway, any help is appreciated for all my questions!
You can go through the ink cartridge replacement thing through epson status monitor and just pop your old ones out and put them back in, that sometimes tricks it into thinking there is still more left in the cartridge. It works most of the time for me, but you do run out for real shortly after.
As far as buying cheap ink, I've ordered a lot of cheap ink from www.tylermartin.com for various epson printers. They are great for printing out stuff for yourself or papers to turn in if you are a student. I would not recommend them for photos, the color is usually fine but the problem arises over time - the ink fades in color, espically in sunlight, much more so than Epson branded ink. Perhaps the kind you are looking at won't do that, but if it smells like rubbing alcohol when it comes out of the printer I wouldn't use it for photos.
I can't answer the cartridge capacity part.
it turns on when I power up. But it won't print anything. I get the "off line" message. I put in a new cartridge (often the cause of "offline") and no change. i have reinstalled driver. At what point do you just chuck one of these. I am an old guy with a strong ecological sense and hate to go along with obsolence and buy something new that will demand energy and raw materials so that my old one goes to contaminate a landfill somewhere just because I am too dumb to get it to work.
Hope you can help

This sould be more than enough to handle a printer.
I have also tryed re installing windows from scratch and trying to then install the printer, i still get the same result.
Cable works, Printer Works , no paper jams etc,Brand new+working cartridges, installed drivers...
What should i do?????????/ help plz
Try another USB-port. See if you have both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0.
If you use a hub, put the cable directly in the PC, it might not get enough 'juice'.
My wife urgently needs a RIP file so that she can properly print from Quark on her PC, using Epson Stylus Photo 870 printer. Epson doesn't have that RIP file, suggested she find third party source. We've found lots of third-party sources that have Mac version of the RIP file, but none for PC. Homework not getting done right w/o this file, anyone know where we can find it? HELP!
Have you had a look at this one:
Right at the bottom, it says:
28 MB RAM minimum*; 500 MB available disk space; Windows 98/95/NT4.0/2000/ME/XP Professional
*Performance improved with additional RAM and disk capacity above the minimum.
Hello. I just installed XP 64-bit and to my frustration there are no drivers for my printer. I am considering doing a Vista 64-Bit install, but I am afraid that I may run into the same problem. Epson's site says the drivers are "In-Box" which they say means, and I quote:
"Drivers are included with Windows Vista. Just connect your Epson product to your computer and follow the on-screen instructions that Windows Vista displays to guide you through driver installation."
But Vista site has a question mark as to whether it is compatible. Can someone please advise if my printer is compatible and if Vista 64 has drivers. Also if so how do I install correctly. TIA.
Unfortunately they do not state whether it'll have 64-bit support or not. And looking under the driver downloads sections shows no support for Vista. - Epson Stylus Photo 825, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
You'll have to use the CD as stated here - Epson America, Inc. - Support - Highlights. It "might" have 64-bit drivers??? Your other choice is to give Epson's tech support a call.
The fact that you have issues under XP x64, and the Vista compatibility chart lists a question mark lends creedence that your printer is probably not supported under Vista x64. But...like I said before, you can always try.
Do take note that even though there is a question mark under Vista 32, Epson states that the drivers are on the disk, so...??? Windows Vista Compatibility Epson Stylus PHOTO 825
I have purchased a Stylus color 860 that was a non printing unit for a good price. The previous owner stated that he had replaced the printhead per epson and then they told him that he needed to calibrate the printhead and he had no way so he sold it. It will feed and go through all the motions of printing but with no ink output on the paper. No errors noted. I have purchased the service repair manual but it mentions an Adjustment Program and I have found a web site that sells it but it looks like it went down before I could buy it. Anyone have any ideas.
I think you probably bought a boat anchor. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for it.
You might have a read thru the owner's manual.
My printer (Epson Stylus Color 600) has now decided to only print black irregular horizontal lines, I am using Windows XP, tried all the utilities, nozzel/print head cleaning/alignment etc, after giving good results for quite a long time (in computer terms) is it time to replace this machine or can any suggest a remedy i might try ?
I just purchased a used, Epson Stylus Photo R200 Printer with no USB cable or software, just the printer. Is there any way I can purchase just the installation CD and USB cable somewhere? Thank you!
Note install the software/driver before hooking up the printer. It's a standard USB cable that should be available at many places.
i recently bought a printer (well six months ago!!)
i bought an Epson Stylus Color 680 but it has sat untill i could afford to replace the carts of ink , well last week i found a local comp fair and got a more than decent price for two sets.
Now that i have installed them and the colors are flowing nicely i have got some vertical lines appear on my photo prints (all prints actually!) and can find no way of getting rid of them i am on my knees begging for all of your greater knowledge , please indulge me thx loads
If it's anything like my Epson Stylus C60, it's a piece of crap!!! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you paid under $100 for it, and it's an Epson, I'm gonna say that in my experience, there's no way to fix it (Believe me, I tried with mine ), and you're best bet is to just buy a new one. I just bought a Dell all in one flatbed scanner/inkjet printer/copier, I'll let you know how it goes.
i am using an epson stylus c46 my ink was running low so i changed the black cartridge (the coloured one was fine) when i tried printing a test page the graphics ie the colours were fine but no text. tried printing something in word but no joy. the black ink cartridge is being recognised but it just wont print. i have gone through the troubleshoot program but still nothing happening. checked the date on the cartridge and that is fine. any help would be appreciated
ps i have rund the nozzle checks and head cleaner about 4 times each or more
I am trying to print to the edge (24") image using sublimation on an Epson 7600, but am having problems. I have always printed out of Photoshop without any problems, and am attempting to do the same with an Illistrator image. If I bring the image into photoshop it messes with my color profile, and the colors don't come out like they should. But, I can't seem to get it to print to the edge out of Illistrator either. I have been working on this for the last few hours and am going crazy...any suggestions??? I have a deadline I am trying to meet, and help would be much appreciated.
I'm new to this board and I am hoping that someone can help me, I am at my wit's end and under a deadline! I am printing from Photoshop on an Epson 7600 large format printer. The type of paper I am using is MOAB Entrada 190 Bright White and I am trying to print wedding albums. I have been using the .ICC profile provided by the MOAB website. My problem is that my color is not accurate, in the print preview window, the image is very pink and prints that way too. I have printed many albums with this profile and it is wonderful, but recently we had to reformat my computer and instead of 2000, I now have XP. It has been wonky ever since. I have my color preferences set to US Prepress format, I have soft proofed and everything looks fine until I print it or print preview it. I just don't know what to do! Can anyone help me? Thank you so much in advance.

Every time I change the black ink cartridge, the thing will not print. It's like the printer head is not touching the paper at all. It does go through the motion but prints blank. Or if I finally get it to work, It shows the brand new cartridge to be half empty and runs out after a few prints. But the color cartridges remain normal. This thing cost me $30 a pop as the black ink cost more than the color. I run the utility program: clean head, adjust etc... Does not work. On line support is very dopey. you click on Epson C64, it shows drivers for all kind of printers but not this one.
Does anyone know what's going on?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

My Epson 960 has 6 cartridges. It set without being used for a couple weeks (it has been longer in the past and worked fine) and now won't print. I used the "clean head" button several times, only 3 of the cartridges will print and they only print about 50% on the "check nozzle" button. What would make all of them dry out at once? A couple of the cartridges were new at the last printing. I have always used official Epson cartridges if that makes any difference.
Thanks for any input.
Sorry for any inconvenience. After posting here, I went to the Epson site and found a troubleshooting area for my printer. I had printed an envelope a few days ago and forgot to set the lever back to paper and this seemed to be causing my problem.
I have win2000 installed on my PII machine.Suddenly my EPSON STYLUS 640 PRINTER is giving the error message "Error sending the document to LPT1" when i try printing even test page.I haven't changed the printer cable yet but i have tightened it properly.Where is the problem.is it printer cable problem orLPT1 port problem. Can anybody help me out.
I would be inclined to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
Let us know how you get on.
last night, I posted a new post, same tittle, and 24 hours later, it is not here. So here's a repost:
Everytime I reinstall a black ink cartridge, it does not work. After fiddling with the utility, ie.
the head cleaner, adjust test page etc... Seems like the head is not reaching down to the paper. The thing is after performing all the cleaning and the trouble shooting, the cartridge shows the ink is going down. Now it's at 3/4 ink left without printing a single page. Windows does see the printer and send the print job to it. The printer in turn goes through the motion, but the paper comes out blank.
I am running Windows XP. Can anyone please help with this matter
Thanks in advance for any response.
Hopefully this link will take you to your original post. I clicked on your name which gave me the option of viewing all your posts.
hope this helps?
I have reinstalled my printer and driver, but I continue to be unable to print. I keep getting error message that says:
"epspmgr4 has caused an error in ESPSMGR4.EXE. espsmgr4 will now close."
Suggestions? Please help!!!!!
Go here and download this utility for Epson Printers.
I have used this on a couple of Epson printers. On one occasion I had an Epson C20UX which stopped working shortly after I replaced the cartridges, Epson Cartridges not compatible. The printer was left in the box for almost a year until I came across this utility. I just started the program and reset everything I could.
One thing I noticed about Epson is that inside there is a small pad which soaks up any ink left in the nozzles after printing. Once this pad soaks up a certain amount of ink the printer stops working. It seems Epson don't tell anyone this so they will either have to leave it in to get fixed or they will buy a new printer.
Try it and see if it helps.
This device has developed several faults after a complete re - installation from the product CD.
1. Will copy A4 documents in Black and White and in colour ( all the wrong colour) - Fit to Page will not work at all in Black and White OR colour.
2. Epson Scan will not start
Scanner is not ready
Interface: Not Connected
3. cannot scan a document into Word or other applications.
However printing from all applications is fine.
Any suggestions please ?
Any updates online for it ,,,, have you tried a reinstall
My printer is not printing the correct colors. Not the shade, but the actual color. For example, blue comes out pink and orange is more red. Yellow ends up with orange lines in it. Black prints just fine. I've tried cleaning the nozzles, re-alignment, etc. and even thought it was an old ink cartridge and changed that but still the same. I'm not sure if it matters that I'm not using an "Epson" brand ink, but I've always used a generic brand and only recently experienced this problem. Any suggestions or causes?

There is not a USB in there. I have done so many searches for USB but nothing that will put a USB in there. I have two USBs I need to use.
A man in Largo said he could help me and in one sense he did as when I would reboot all I would get is safe mode. I can get on line now and into my email. Be he cannot seem to fix the USB problem. Told me he was a ITT professional and out of work for a year. He is not good in calling back. He did call me two days ago and said he was searching for the problem and would call the next day but did not. Can any of y’all help me?
Also, he messed up my Epson Stylus NX 430 printer, as it will not print. It need a driver. Have done many searches but cannot find one. Went to Device Manager and it says it is okay but it is not. If I go to Control Panel and delete it, reboot, will it come back?

Hi dear knowledgeable folks,
Well, here's what has happened. A few days ago, my printer suddenly wouldn't print and it, as well as my computer then froze up. I had to reboot in Safe Mode. I have an eMachine and run Windows 98. Anyway, I have run and rerun the printer utilities, head cleaning, etc. The test program will print out fine, (in color)but that's all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, including the driver. Now, when I try to print something, it shows that the printer is doing so, but the page comes out completely white. I am a technically challenged grandmother and have no idea what to do next. This printer has been perfect up until now. I've had it since January, 2000 with pretty light usage.
If anybody has any ideas, I'll surely appreciate them.
Thank you a bunch in advance.
My friend had a problem where it appeared to be printing (also an Epson) and a blank paper came out.
The solution for him was to change the field where you tell it what kind of paper you are printing on. We moved down the list of choices and it started to put ink on the paper.
The setting that always worked fine before just stopped working.
I hope something this simple also solves your problem

When I try to start my Epson Stylus 1520 all the lights on the panel blink. It sat for some time and then I put new ink cartridges in it. It runs through the cycle like it is cleaning the heads and then just sits and all the lights blink and it will not print. Suggestions?
Tryt the Epson troubleshooting guide here
i have run out of colour ink but only want to print in black but it wont print because of the colour.
is there a way to print in only black instead of replacing the colour catridge?
Hi there Ive got the Epson stylus 580 and that needs both cartridges or it wont work, yours sounds the same unless anyone else knows different, its a pain aint it lol .....

OK. I'm new at all this, already have a USB printer hooked up that works fine as long as I don't throw it any curves. The Stylus hooks in with a standard printer cable. One end to printer, other end to tower. Only one way to do it. It'll print the proper test page unconnected, and when connected, the Printers section of the conttol panel tells me it's 'ready'. I select the Epson, tell it to print, and nothing happens. Could it really be a bogus cable? I hate to blame the equipment for something that's probably pilot error. I have Adobe Acrobat, Maybe I should try printing from a pdf file? I'm quite lost. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
what are you asking it to print? you don't say, but i'm assuming that you are in a program, or on the web and pressing your "print" button in the program you are using, with the page you want to print onscreen.
of course, if you just hit "print" in the printer program and there's no page to print, it won't print.
check your options, too. in the printer program. make sure all the proper things are enabled, like the default settings, such as whether it prints "portrait" or "landscape". (portrait is the standard, letter type format)
have you closed all the windows just to see if there might be an error box displayed underneath everything?
is there paper in the printer? (it's okay to laugh. i've done that one several times!!)
i hope some of this helps.
My EPSON STYLUS PHOTO RX620 which was working fine before has now decided to display a 'printer error occurred - please see documentation' message. When I checked the user manual, it suggested i switch off, then on again and if that didn't work (which it didn't!) to contact my dealer.
I had just replaced the ink cartidges, so I've given them a check over to see if anything was wrong there, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary, and I can't see or feel any jammed bits of paper.
If anyone has any ideas about how to sort this out, I'd really appreciate the help

When printing .bmp images from Microsoft Paint, Win 98, the image is broken into slices of varying widths. The entire image is printed, it just looks like it has been pulled apart, into horizontal strips (vertical strips when printing in landscape orientation), with large gaps between the strips. I have tried all troubleshooting suggestions and have uninstalled then reinstalled the printer software. No Luck! This is a one year old Epson Stylus Color 740. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a Dell Inspiron and want to connect my older Epson Stylus 740.
The Dell has a 10 pin input jack and the printerconnector has a 25 pin output cable.
Are they compatible with some sort of adapter?
Mike in Maine
There are USB/paralell adapters. Have never tried one and have seen some complaints about them. Perhaps another forum member will comment.
I have a printer (Epson Stylus CX4300).
and I don't have colored ink anymore,
but I have black ink.
I don't use colored ink..
I often use black only.
but I can't print even I have black ink,
I changed it to black and white mode,
but it doesn't print
it always says that "replace cartridge"
but I'm not printing colored,
and I only need to print black.
1. Can I print black and white even I don't have
2. What is the reason why I can't print black and white even I have black Ink?is it because colored ink is also needed in printing black and white?
3. What are the other ways of printing black and white without colored ink?
Printer: Epson Stylus CX4300
Thank you very much!
