error message during user account signin critical error

Q: error message during user account signin critical error

Hello

whenever I sign in to my user account I get a blue window with a critical error message......saying Start menu and cortana aren't working ( I have cortana turns off in options anyway ) then it says we will try and fix it next time you sign in, with the only option to sign out.....this happens every time I start the PC up, but OK after signing out and in again , is it anything to do with shutup10 that I ran recently, although it's not affecting my windows 10 laptop.

thanks

When I log off from my user account on Win XPPro, I get some kind of quick error message which I am unable to read.

I did recently remove McAfee Security Center and I notice in the log file there are a couple of lines referencing McAfee. I'm not sure if those hurt anything or not.

Can you please review my file and see if you see anything suspicious? I have run and updated Spybot and Adaware and both are clean.

Thanks!

I am giving my computer to a friend and am trying to clean it up for her. I added she and her husband as administrators and then deleted my account. But when I restart the computer I get a notice that the name is not the correct one. I change the user, but I end up having to click on my name which is still there, and entering my password. Then I see two of each of our icons. I can then click on another person.

I went into the system and checked and it shows only the other two people as administrators and does not show my name.

I am hoping someone will give me some advise to get rid of my name in the sign on.

Even though you are giving your computer to a friend it doesn't mean to say that you have to be complacent about your personal data. My advice would be to clean reinstall the OS.

I recently have been getting the Error message Windows has encountered a critical error and will close in one minute.
I do not have the Brazilian financial Active X control that became corrupted, or if I do, I cannot find it. I have Vista 32-bit on an Acer Aspire laptop. This message comes up after I login and I can either access the Internet via Safe mode w/Networking, or do a System Restore, at which time the laptop works for about two or three times and then the error message comes back.
Do I have a bug? Please help!!!!

A:Error Message 0x80070005 critical error - windows will close in one minute

I followed the preparation guide and when I tried to run dds.scr, the black screen came up really fast and then disappeared and nothing ever came up. When I tried to run RootRepeal.exe, I was able to tell it to scan, but then I never received a report. When I tried to run it again, it said that I didn't have permission, and when I tried to delete it, it said the same thing! I am the administrator...I have Vista 32bit and I am getting the error code 0x80070005 windows has encountered a critical error and will now close. I run system restore to get it to stop, but that only works a few times, and then I get the error message again.
What do I do now??

Hi, everybody. I downloaded Windows 10 from the the Microsoft site, because I had reserved a free copy. I had Window 8.1 before this.

Up till now, it seems that most things worked fine. I tweaked it a little and allowed the new program to "get used to my desktop." After first being unable to transfer stuff over, Windows 10 finally began complying with requests for switching things, etc.

A brand-new problem has begun with the Start icon, which is the Micro "flag" at the lower left of the screen. Every time I hit it in order to sign off, I get a message..... "Critical Error. Your Start Menu button isn't working. We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in." It offers me a box to sign off within the error message, fortunately. I went on line and found that a number of people are experiencing this same problem. And many of their concerns are directed to others in the Microsoft Community website. By the way, it doesn't happen all the time, only most of the time. When it doesn't happen, it seems to be because I've cleared by temporary files, emptied my trash bin, and deleted the adware that has accumulated with each use. If I'm lucky, that is.

Another thing I've noticed. I use Superantispyware, among other malware detectors. I've used it for XP, 8.1 and now 10. Each time it has picked up a bit more adware and minor spyware. But, recently, I have found that when I'm done PC-ing and ready to shut down, af... Read more

I was on my laptop today when I got a blue screen and my wallpaper changed to say that I have a critical warning. The exact desktop message reads: "YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED! System has been stopped due to a serious malfunction. Spyware activity has been detected. It is recommended to use spyware removal tool to prevent data loss. Do not use the computer before all spyware removed."I managed to get rid of the desktop message (using AntiVir until the scan stopped for no apparent reason. The scan did not complete and I can't get it to scan again.) Under Desktop, the "critical_warning" file still appears in the list. The current wallpaper is the blue screen without the message written out above and I can't change it because this Desktop/Background page is locked up.My homepage was changed (to google, oddly). I cannot access system restore, nor can I use Malewarebytes or other antivirus programs because I get a message that reads: "Windows cannot access the specified file. You may not have permissions to access the item." I have AntiVir PE Classic, which also won't fully run (it starts scanning, then stops).Fortunately, I have a desktop so that I can post here and try to resolve the problem. Would someone please walk me through fixing this problem? Thank you very much!Edit: Moved topic from XP to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

A:(Resolved) Critical Error Message

One or two links here indicate there may be conflcts with installed programs, for example gravis.

http://groups.google.com/groups?q="CoInitialize(NULL)+failed+&hl=en

You can also try disabling dma mode in the cd-rom device manager properties>settings page, although it did not work for one person who tried it. It does sometimes resolve install problems.

Check with the vendor's support to see if there are any known install conflicts that would produce that error.

Hello!
My brothers computer has some serious problem I think
after booting up there is a message poping up which says
"System restored after critical error message"
when looking into details it says
"Problem signature:
BCCode: 100000d1 BCP1: 00000000 BCP2: 00000000C BCP3: 00000000

I have no idea about these things and dont know if you need anything else.
I reinstalled windows XP several times allready after this error occured but it didnt get better..
so i think it might be some hardware error. it is very hard to work on this pc right now, because the mouse isnt working either and it has gotten damn slow..
The pc is allready 5 years old too.. but he doesnt want to buy a new one, but he would like to buy some new hardware components if necessary. The PC got 1,66 ghz and 256 MB ram.

I allready changed the windows settings so it wont reboot automatically but give me a blue screen instead.
on the blue screen it says:

A:Messenger Service: Critical Error Message!

Do the pop up advertisements look like the one in the example shown here? If so, it indicates your system is not secure and you should follow the instructions to "Disable Windows Messenger Service". The Messenger service is a network-based system notification service service that transmits net send messages and messages that are sent through the Alerter service between client computers and servers. It should not be confused with Windows Messenger which is a proprietary instant messaging client included in Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 Server.

I having this problem with an icon in my bottom right task tray. When I move my mouse over it, it says "Critical System Error!", but when I click it, it opens up some site for anti-virus software (www.virusburst.com). I have ran numerous anti virus scans and nothing cam up, so I know I am safe, but this icon wont go away. Every once in a while, a baloon will pop up saying something about I need a malware scan, but when I click it, it opens up the site again. I tried restarting my computer, but it still shows. Is there an executable I need to delete or how do I get rid of it?

Hi and welcome
Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

...that's my computer...

my son recently got a Thomas & friends Trouble on the Tracks Interactive cd-rom, and although it says it is for WIN 95/98, i tried running it compatible with both and neither worked, also i read reviews about this game and apparently other people have not had problems running it with windows XP...

it installs just fine and says i need DirectX version 7.0 or higher, which it installs also...and i have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times...

everytime i go to open/play/run the program the screen goes black like it's about to start, then a critical error message pops up that reads: Invalid ID in load header

now i obviously don't know what that means but could it simply not be working cuz the game is too old for my computer???

Help!

Good Afternoon,

So Im fairly adept with computers but I cant seem to solve this problem.

On my VAIO FZN, there seems to be a virus which has taken control of my computer, most likely some sort of rootkit. When the computer starts

it says "You are about to be logged off - Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute. Please save your work now."

after about 3-5minutes. BUT the catch is that this only occurs when the computer has the front LAN switch turned on. when this switch is off it works fine except for that I cant connect to the internet. I have run multiple AV programs which have removed some viruses but obviously not the main problem.
I have also run Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 from my flashdrive which was successful in its scan but since the computer cant get online it wont run the full program (to update), at least I dont think it has.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions,

Thanks so much,
Blake

Hi..I just bought a refurbished computer. Its an HP Desktop Computer COMPAQ 6005 PRO Phenom II X3 3.0 GHz 4 GB 250 GB HDD Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit .

In order to install windows for the first time on this refurbished machine, I have to choose "system restore" at boot.
It starts to go through the process of installing windows, then I get this message : "Windows Restore Critical Failure. This can be caused by a missing Windows image".
Anyone know how I can fix this. I cant get into windows, because I first have to install it using the system restore. So the only computer access I have, is when it boots up.

I have tried to contact Newegg...which is where I bought it, but no luck. All repairs and service is through the warranty company...cant get in touch with them either.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks.

I recently purchased this All-In-One and now I am getting this error message.  I have tried finding an email to contact HP Support and there is none. HP computers are a pile of worthless crap!!!! Now I know what most companies use Dell.  At least the computers operate with a system that isn't a pile of crap. HP Support sucks and I would never recommend anyone buying one.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details.

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, this post has instructions.

On Tuesday morning around 8:15 I got a little dialog box that stated (as close as I can recall) that Windows had encountered a critical problem and would restart in one minute, and that I should save my work. When I clicked my start button I saw that the restart option was grayed out, so I just had to sit there and wait for the restart to happen. Once it did and the computer was back, everything seemed normal. I looked in the Event Viewer and the nearest thing I could find to a cause was something about lsass.exe having stopped working. Also, later I noticed in the Windows update control panel that Windows Defender had updated itself at 8 AM that morning (at least according to my OS).

Relevant details: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit- I was running Firefox, iTunes and Steam at the time. My antivirus program is avast! free version. Everything is updated. My version of Java was one revision out of date (7 update 4 instead of 5--since fixed). I use FoxIt Reader and not Adobe so that's not a vector. I ran a full Malwarebytes scan and found nothing. Also ran TDSSkiller.exe and found no problems.

There has been no strange behavior since the forced reboot, and there were Windows updates installed yesterday, and everything seems to be behaving properly, but on another forum I frequent someone said this might be a rootkit, so I'm paranoid. Is there something I can do to be sure?

If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic. If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient. If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Running uTorrent, you are high-risk for infection. If it wasn't the e-mail, it would have been something else, eventually.

Those are two of the malware. There's probably more. You can always assume that the only executables running from temporary and documents folders are malware.

I am the only user of my computer. I have always noticed that I have unused user account folders in the Documents and Settings folder since I have reinstalled WinXP a few times. For example, I used to have the following folders:

verTigo
verTigo.VERTIGOPC
verTigo.VERTIGOPC.000

Yesterday I decided to find out which one I was using and remove the others. Rather than delete them, I moved them into another folder so the system wouldn't find them. If after a reboot or two it didn't find them and didn't complain, I would delete them.

The data folder my account was currently using was verTigo.VERTIGOPC.000

After doing this, I rebooted my computer and found that it did complain. I don't really know what it said or what happened, but basically I messed up my user account. I logged in as Administrator. It booted me into windows into what looked like a fresh new account, with all default settings and wanting to set up the "new mouse" it detected.

I went into the lusrmgr.msc console and created a new user called 'verTigo'. I then logged off and back on as Administrator and saw the new user data folder 'verTigo' with the generic subfolders Desktop, Favorites, etc that it creates with a new user. I logged off again and back on as verTigo. Then I logged off again and back on as Adminisrator and moved my data files and documents from verTigo.VERTIGOPC.000 to the new verTigo user data folder.

After moving my folders over, I logged off administrator and l... Read more

A:Windows User Account Data Loss (CRITICAL!!)

If the stuff you lost is really that important (and you didn't back it up???!!?!?) then you need to stop using the computer right now! Any data you had could get overwitten just by using the PC.

There are some apps you can load onto a floppy to search the surface of the drive for data, this will hopefully allow you to recover a % of your work.

The other option is to take the drive to a 'data recovery' professional. This is not cheap, but will give you fighting chance of recovering your files.

Try logging off, and at the logon screen Ctrl + Alt and then hit Delete twice. Now type Administrator in the account name and if there is a password insert it but leave it blank if there is none. Did you get in?

The file needed to open the User Accounts applet is nusrmgr.cpl located in the Windows\System32 folder.

It may have gotten corrupted but you can extract a new one.

1. Go to Start>Run, type in "msconfig" (without the quotes), click OK.
2. On the General tab, click the "Expand File" button.
3. The "File to restore" is nusrmgr.cpl
4. "Restore From" either your Windows XP CD or the I386 folder on the harddrive (if it's there); either type in the path or use the "Browse To..." button
5. "Save file in" C:\Windows\System32 - either type in the path or use the "Browse To..." button
6. Click the expand button

See if the User Accounts applet will then open.

A:Solved: User Account Error

You are probably going to have to create a new User Account (profile) for yourself and abandon the old one.

Here are some instructions:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

Follow the "my computer is in a workgroup" instructions.

Hi, I'm still new with Windows 7. I downloaded the "Absolute uninstaller" here in the forum (got the link from here). Now, I'm cleaning my laptop, uninstalling those that are not familliar and usable. Now, I'm having a big problem, because, my anti-virus is not anymore working, the folder is still there and the icon. I tried to delete the folder but I'm getting an error that I need permisssion of the administrator, BUT I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR!

I remember deleting MS C++, because I thinking that I'm not a programmer, why would I keep that. Is that the reason why I'm having this big problem?
I saw MS C++ displayed on the lists of applications when I ran the "absolute uninstaller"

I noticed that user profile was added, I don't know how did it happened. My friends advised me to system restore but I'm worried b'coz it might delete the newly useful installed applications I downloaded.

I don't know how to fix it. Please help me guys!

A:Error in User Account Profile! Help!

Hi,

The MS C++ will no doubt be used by other applications requiring those runtime files so deleting them was a bad idea

As for your Antivirus, try re-installing it to see if it'll allow uninstallation from the Windows 'Remove Program' option in Control Panel.

By 'User Profile' what are you referring to? Every computer has/needs a user profile to function. Is it a new user created?

This has happened for as long as I created my account on my xp computer. I just ignored it all the time but now it's getting very annoying. When I log on, a message pops up before my profile loads. It says:

"Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system.

DETAIL - The configuration registry database is corrupt."

And it has a 30 second timer before it automatically loads the profile. How do I fix this?

A:Error when loading user account

Under User Profiles reset the rights to your user profile folder.
Login as an Administrator
Go to System Properties - User Profiles - (select the profile that does not work)- select copy to - select the folder that represents the profile of the user you selected. This should solve the problem.

Hi all,

I have a standard administrator account in my name in C:\user and a guest account and both accounts are working fine. Now when i try to create a new local account say "test",i cant log in to that account and gives me error "User Profile Service failed the sign in.User profile cant be loaded"

I get the same error if i create built in administrator account using "net user administrator /active:yes" and then try logging into the administrator account.

I tried to follow Brink's tutorial about fixing corrupted user profiles but in regedit i cant find the SID with .bak extension and such.

I have no clue what to do next.

TIA

A:Creating new user account error

Hello dreamer,

Unfortunately, a user's profile is not created until the first time you are able to successfully sign in to the account.

You might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you started getting this user profile error to see if it may help.

If not, then you may need to refresh Windows to fix it.

After some searching I googled if it was possible to sign my PC into a microsoft account from Holland and got no clear answer ( I just noticed there is a little badge by my post so you can see where I am from). Sounds like a possible malware infection. Go here:

http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download

Download HijackThis, install using the default settings, and launch the program.
Click "scan and save a logfile."
DO NOT HAVE IT FIX ANYTHING YET! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even necessary. Copy the ENTIRE text of the logfile and close the program.
Paste the contents of the logfile back here in your next reply and wait for one of this site's malware experts to have a look at your log. They will provide you with further instructions.
You can use the "report" button to politely request that your thread be relocated to the Malware Removal/HJT forum.

However, this problem is on the Administrator account, where I can't backup, change the type of profile, open the hidden administrator account or change the Default folder in C:\Users. The only other account on the computer is a regular user, which I frequently use.

I am completely stumped and need help. Any that can be provided would be appreciated.

Hi there,

We are having some difficulty with opening a network drive on Windows 7.

Recieve the error: "Logon Failure: user account restriction. Possible reasons are blank passwords not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy restriction has been enforced."

This only happens if password protection has been turned on in the Network and Sharing Center. If it is turned off it works fine. The only problem is that it needs it be on so that other users cant access the drive.

What can we try to solve this issue. This is on Windows 7 Pro 32bit to connect on files on Windows 7 64bit. (May this be an issue?)

Thanks

Hello. I have access to log onto the Administrator account on my computer, but I changed some settings in the Group Policy Object Editor for the sake of experimentiaton and knowledge gain. I unwittingly prevented myself from being able to access the basic user account. Even though I have access to the Administrator account, I still require access to the basic user account for reasons I will not be discussing in this thread. Every time I try to log on, an error message states that "Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client service. Please consult your system administrator." I notice that every time I log into the Administrator account, a diologue box appears stating that the system "Failed to connect to a windows service. Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client service. This problem prevents standard users from logging onto the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond." I checked the Event Viewer, and it tells me that there is an error. The source for this error is labelled as "Microsoft Antimalware" and given the Event ID 2001. If I go to the "Details" tab, no GUIDs are displayed. I honestly had no idea that something I did would've caused all this to happen. Please help me get my standard account back. Thank you very much for your patience.

A:Error when trying to log onto basic user account Windows 7 Enterprise.

Hi protocolcode0, Welcome to Sevenforums.

There are two places to look in the registry:

1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services this path should contain gpsvc key (a folder), which is responsible for service parameters and configuration. You do not touch anything here - just check that the key exists.
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SVCHOST This is the most important path you should look into, as it must contain the keys and values referred in the key #1. Below are descriptions what must be present there.
There must be Multi-String value called GPSvcGroup. You should create multi-string value named GPSvcGroup and assign it value GPSvc.
Next, you must create a key (a folder) and name it GPSvcGroup - this key normally should be there.
Then open newly-created GPSvcGroup folder and create 2 DWORD values:
a. First called AuthenticationCapabilities and you must give it a value of 0x00003020 (or 12320 in decimal)
b. Second is called CoInitializeSecurityParam and it must have value of 1.

Once you complete all steps above, reboot the computer and the problem will be fixed.

I've a strange problem with my NetBook running Win7 Home, 32-bit. It had two user accounts (both admin) one for me and one for my wife.

For the past few months when my wife logs into her account it would run very slow. However my user account didn't have that problem. To fix this, I've deleted my wife's user account and created a new one.

When I login using the newly created user account, I get a bunch of "Windows can't open file" dialogs for ie4uinit.exe and several others.

Assuming that there might have been a malware, I've downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a full scan. After running for an hour, it returned with no malware.

More details: At some point I've also upgraded from IE8 to IE9. Uninstalled an unknown program PlayItAll media player.

Any help/direction is well appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Now for some reason, Win 10 on startup login screen shows 2 account, and it says an error message about wrong name and password, and I have to manually insert password...and it works.
Both accounts have same name and same login user and password. But one is with generic pic, and the other one is with actual pic of my image. Both accounts works in the same way with same programs and other.
Why happened this? How can I remove this generic account if isn't in my account control panel?
Can be related to this?

A trojan slipped past my AV (f-Secure) yesterday from a zip file. It recognised and cleaned it after it was extracted, but it appears to have done some damage even though not run.

Most of my desktop icons were missing, and the Favourites folder was empty, so I rolled back with System Restore, which brought back the desktop icons, but opening Photoshop CS5 results in:

Runtime error.
This application has rewuested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

Premiere Pro CS5 is freezing at the Splash screen. Everything else appears to be OK.

The disappeared desktop icons had me wondering if it was a User Account issue, so I created a new Admin account, and sure enough, both Adobe apps worked fine from the new account. Switching back to the original account returned the problem.

It would obviously be useful to know what the trojan was, but I have search f-Secure for a log without success. I am also wondering if the trojan has created a remote gateway to the affected User Account.

I huess I could switch everything to the new account, but it would be good to fix it.

BTW I have tried running SFC/SCANNOW and it found no problems.

Can you guys help? I assume my system specs appear somewhere have spent 10 minutes entering them when I registed.

A:Runtime Error - Limited to one user Account after trojan attack.

It sounds like you received an OS 2012 Trojan. They hide all user files and move files around so you are unable to access the files. A system restore probably was not a great idea since it may make it difficult to fix the problem. The typical fix is to download and run the Fakerean removal tool to remove the virus and return files and settings for users. See if it will still work.

Hello, I am trying to change the permission settings on my user account folder. When I clicked properties, and then the security tab, I discovered that there is an unknown user that has full control over the folder. I, being paranoid and picky about my computer, tried to delete this user from the list in the security tab, and after the changes were applied throughout the folder, I noticed some desktop shortcuts were deleted, and I don't really know what else I could have messed up.

I tried a system restore, but that didn't even touch my user folder.

The Account name was "Account unknown <some long random string>"

There may be nothing wrong, and the paths that the shortcuts followed may have been altered when I made a change to the security settings, deleting the shortcuts. But I still would like to know where this unknown user came from, and what control it potentially had. This is a private computer, on a private network, and contains one and only one user account.

I'd appreciate any clues as to where this mysterious account came from.

Thanks,

Hi,

I am looking for some help please !

I am struggling with a family computer that i think may have been shut down during an update ?

It is a Intel Pentium 4 2.93 with 512 MB running Windows XP Home Edition with SP3.

Currently when you start up the computer it is going to the logon screen with the logon name filled in as the 'name of the computer' and asking for the password. No user account has ever been setup since the machine was purchased many years ago.

If you just click ok without a password it carries on with its startup until you get to the desktop when it pops up an error message :

Explorer.EXE - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application.

If you click ok you then get left with just the desktop, no icons or start bar etc. You cannot use ctrl-alt-del either.

I have the same problem with safe mode.

I can however get a command prompt if i log on to safe mode with command prompt.

I have tried running the recovery console and logging on as administrator and trying to do a system restore but the box comes up and just hangs.

I am not sure what to do next and any advice would be greatly appreciated ?

Many Thanks,

Icedgem

"The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

This also opens Notepad - which has no text in.

Is there a way i can correct this problem?

Anyone have any idea how to get rid of this 'user intervention required error?

A:printing error message 'user intervention'

That can be from a number of causes, from out of toner/ink, out of paper, unplugged or simply "off line" setting.

To resolve the off line one, right click on the default printer icon and un-tick "use printer offine"

It really would have helped to know the printer make/model though.

I've had this problem before, except it was almost a year ago and on a different computer. I'm getting a yellow triangle in the system tray and a message about a "critical system error". It then gives me a bs paragraph about a trojan infection and lists 3 spyware removal programs I should download. Windows Defender is useless against this, and spybot S&D can't remove the infected files.

This is in Vista 32 bit

Here's a hijack log:

On bootup I receive the error message "Critical Status-the Raid 1 array needes to be duplicated to ensure data consistancy." When I try and "Duplicate Now" it starts and then I receive another error, "Duplicating error!! The array is not functional."
If I ignore the error message and continue to boot the system (XP Pro) it cotinues to boot normally. This happens every time.
My question is: Should I try on bootup to remove the Raid array and then reinstall the array to clear the problem and in doing so, would I lose or cause harm to my hard drive(s) data?

Hi, I have a yahoo email acount, and every time I try to reply to someone or send out an email I get the following message: "Error code 475: Suspicious activity was detected on your account".

I have not sent out any bulk emails at all. I have not done anything different than what I have been doing for several years of having the account. At times the email will close out on it's own, and I keep getting a request from yahoo to change my email address.

The google chrome browsing experiences has been much slower as well. I get a stall often time when I am trying to go to a website online from search and from the address bar.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

A:Yahoo Email Account Error Message 475: Suspicious activity detected

It appears if you have web links to other sites in your email signature, Yahoo Mail will flag it.

Also, if you log in from a location different from the one you normally use, especially if it's outside your home country, or if you recently changed ISP providers, that can trigger it as well.

A third possibility is that your username and password have been compromised, and someone else is logging in and using the account to send spam.

Hi,
I just bought a new notebook with Windows 8.1 und do not manage to get the Mail program started.

I am using 8.1 with a local user only, I do not want to register with a Microsoft account.
I searched in a couple of forums, and then changed some settings via regedit (MSAOptional in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System)

Now the Mail program is not asking for a Microsoft account any more and directly brings me to a start screen where I can enter a mail address and password. However, when I enter my gmail address and pw, I get an error message 'We cannot find settings for [email protected]'. I also tried to go into the settings menu of the Mail programm (which appears on the right side of the screen>), but there are no options to add an account or similar.Does anyone know how to get the mail program running?

Thanks!

Thank you for the wonderful work you do!

I scan my computer with Uniblue (kinda got misled into buying only one third of the program--grrr....). Everyday there are 2 messages that I receive 2 of each time. I only seem to be able to copy and paste one at a time, so here is one of them:

The value PackagePath in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/MediaPlayer/Services/MediaGuide contains an invalid path C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files/Content.IE5/3BIA03RL/media_guide_16x16[1].png
I have no idea what this means. Uniblue keeps "fixing" it and then it's back the next day with another similar, but slightly different message. Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks in advance,

Smargie

Is there an executable I need to delete or how do I get rid of it?

Hello,

I bought a second hand Satellite Pro M30. This one has the 1.30 Bios ... I would like to install the v1.70 bios.

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3 and I tried first to update within Windows.
I got however the message "the user is not authorized to update BIOS".

This message is quite surprising since I have admnistrator privileges.

I read that one can use a diskette to update, but I don't have one ...

So, Is there a way to update the Bios with CD ?

Cheers,
R.S.

A:Satellite Pro M30 - Error message: User is not authorized to update BIOS

Hi

I checked the Toshiba European driver page and found the BIOS 1.7 WIN version in the ARCHIVE area.

As you can see it's a BIOS Windows version and not a traditional BIOS version (trad BIOS can be updated using the diskette).
This Win BIOS can be upgraded only from running Win OS.

Anyway, I see you have installed the SP3. This could have a bad influence on the BIOS update.
So maybe you should try to update the BIOS without installed SP3?

Remove the SP3, download the right BIOS, unzip it correctly and then try to execute the BIOS update file.

_PS: If you notebook runs trouble free then a BIOS update is not necessary!!!_

Can you help me?

And how to help? Who knows what you have done there.

I can tell you that this is really bad situation now. Without right password you will not be able to start clean OS installation using HDD recovery procedure.

Hi, I've read many threads about this and no concrete solutions have been provided. I am currently facing the error with my only administrator account (with no password)

I shall list the methods that I have tried already.
1. I am unable to use the method provided by Microsoft in You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon? error message as I am unable to log in into the administrator account, since a password is required, yet I do not have any password.
2. I am unable to boot into safe mode using F8 for some unknown reason. Not to mention, I lost the Windows 7 disc that I have.
3. Tried to enable to built-in administrator mode following the method stated here Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable
Since I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, Options 1 and 3 are out for me. Option 4 is out for me too since I do not have the Windows 7 disc to open command prompt at boot. For option 2, upon typing "net user administrator /active:yes ", an error popped up, saying "System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied"

Currently, I am out of methods. Please help me to solve this issue as my administrator account has a lot of important documents. Thanks.

A:The User Profile Service failed the logon” error message

Hello Hermit, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you like, you could use the method in the tutorial below to create a Windows 7 installation DVD/USB with. The note box at the top can help show you where to get an official ISO file to use to create it with.

Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

Afterwards, you should be able to follow the steps in the tutorial below to hopefully fix the user profile error.

User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

Hope this helps,
