Calendar: Multiple events in month view

Q: Calendar: Multiple events in month view

Just installed Win10 yesterday, and taking a first look at the Calendar app. Unless I have overlooked something, this app has a flaw that makes it almost not worth using.

I'm using the app to display my Google Calendar events, a month at a time. In many cases, I have enough events scheduled for a single day that they won't all fit in the cell in Month View. Is there really no way to display all the events for a given date (including the ones that don't fit) in Month View? (For example, in the Calendar app on my phone, it is usually the case that not all the events for a given date show in the grid, but tapping the date in question displays a pop-up that shows them all). This app just runs them off the bottom of the cell. It doesn't even alert you to the fact that there are additional events for that date that it isn't displaying!

Dare I hope I'm missing something here?

/John

A: Calendar: Multiple events in month view

I guess nobody shares my angst for the perceived shortcomings of the Calendar app.

All the same, thought I'd mention that I installed an app from the Store called One Calendar that seems to be free, and does not suffer from the above-stated problem (when viewing in Month View, if there are 'n' events that don't fit in the grid, One Calendar displays a little '+n' at the top of the cell, alerting you to the fact that there's more you're not seeing; then clicking on the cell brings up the Day View, so you can see it all).

All's well that ends well.

When I pull up the Month view of outlook calendar it doesn't show all of the things I have scheduled.

for instance, I have something at 2pm on April 30 and I don't see that unless I pull up the day and the detail of it. On the month view it's just a white square with no indication there's something scheduled. Other days if I have something all day it shows. Or maybe morning.

What setting do I need to tinker with?

Thanks

A:Outlook 2010 Calendar Month View Not Showing Things

I see some items not others. I don't think it's a lost PST file. If I open the day, I see the entries. I don't have many entries, but it would be nice to see them all in the month view. For Instance on May 7th, I see Teacher appreciation week (a week long whole day entry) but not a 9am webinar and a 2pm presentation although they show if I open the day view. May 8th I have the date bold in my little thumbnail calendar so I know there's something there; in the month view nothing, in the day view I see an activity scheduled for 9am.

It's crazy. I would like to see something in the month view to show me what's coming up.

I am a PA working for 4 people and have their calendars open constantly in 'work week' view. Since converting to Outlook 2010, their names have disappeared from the tab at the top of their calendars (it just says 'calendar' for each). It's confusing to say the least! Any ideas how to get them back?

A:Multiple calendar view

Hello and welcome to the forum.

In the Navigation Pane, right-click one of the calendars and from the menu click 'rename'. You can then type the relevant name.

Perform the same action on each and you should then have them suitably identified.

I've had a persistent problem for several months since I migrated to a new hard drive. Outlook 2010 calendar is working, but only in Active List view. Any attempt to change to Preview or Calendar view produces the error message, "Could not read the calendar." Changing from Active List to List works some of the time, but inconsistently and sometimes it will hunt for the list and offer the same "Could not read the calendar." error message. This is very frustrating as I find it difficult to manage the list view and am accustomed to seeing the calendar week view.

I use an Android phone and use gmail and Google calendar to see mail and appointments on my phone. So, I've got Google Calendar Sync 0.9.4.1 running. Google Calendar Sync appears to be operating normally. I have a nice calendar view on my phone or web-based from my computer. I have tried adding the Google calendar to Outlook but it is a duplicate of the default calendar and I can't set it as the default. Also, MS Office does not permit me to delete the default calendar.

I don't like any of the work arounds. I just want the calendar to work like it should. Research discloses no real hint of anything that works including running scanpst. Scanpst does a great job at fixing the problem by wiping the whole calendar thanks very much MS.

The Basics
Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked ? the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.
My Problem
Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected ? or maybe not quite as expected. I?ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven?t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.
Very strange. Anybody know what?s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.

Hi,

I've been experiencing a problem with the Windows 10 Calendar app - it shows duplicate events.
I'm using a Microsoft account (Outlook.com) and have it configured on the computer. Mail app Works ok and syncs. Calendar App shows duplicate events. If I access the same calendar on Outlook.com the calendar shows OK with no duplicates. On another computer with the same Setup the calendar does not show duplicates, Works as expected so this seems a problem confined to this one computer only.

This Windows 10 instalation is about a month old (installed from scratch - no upgrade from 8) and has all published MS updates instaled and also all app updates.

Have tried to uninstall the Calendar app, rebooted, reinstall the app, but duplicates persist.

Any ideas? Thank you.

A:Calendar app shows duplicate events

Hello and welcome

Is every event duplicated or just some of them? I have a few duplicated that are usually related to things like birthdays where I have multiple entries for the same person which I have never bothered to sort out but think it comes from the outlook birthday calendar.

Hello,
Setup: Outlook 2002 in a domain to an Exchange server.

We have a shared calendar to which everyone can view and add events. If an employee takes a day off, they put an all-day event in the shared calendar that shows them as being off that day, thereby allowing everyone else to know who is in and who is not. Normally, everyone can see those events with no problem when viewing a single day. The problem occurred on Friday when 13 people took the day off. If anyone had their screen resolution set to 800x600 (which most people do), then they could only see the first 10 all-day events with no scroll bars available to see the other three. The only way for them to view the other three is to change their screen res to 1024x768 and then close and reopen Outlook. Problem is, most people have 15" LCD monitors, so using 1024x768 is not acceptable, especially considering that some need 640x480 to view their screen.

As you might imagine, I am having a devil of a time finding anything online about this and how to change it. I have scoured through Outlook, ms.com, slipstick.com, and this board to find an answer, but I have found nothing helpful. I am hoping that their is some sort of registry tweak or something to make this go bye-bye.

If anyone has any idea at all on how to fix this, please oh please won't you help?!? And would someone please think of the children!

Hello. All of my events in my Yahoo calendar have disappeared. I've gone 3 weeks now without access. I have a business account with Yahoo so they have "escalated" the issue, which I now understand is a joke since their front line people are outsourced and give me the same scripted "working on it" BS every time I call and today advised me that they have no method of communication with their escalation team. I have given up on them fixing it. I thought it was a sync issue with my iPhone/iPad however I cannot even pull up the data on the yahoo site under my login via my Windows XP or Windows 10 laptops. My business and personal life are failing as a result of this. All events in my life are stored on their servers and unfortunately, because I assumed that because my data was housed with one of the largest ISP's in existence, therefore THIS could never happen...I never did back up the data anywhere else. I thought I had on my iCloud but Apple corrected me stating that is not the case because Yahoo is a 3rd party. Trying not to be dramatic and stay on point but suffice it to say, my entire professional life is on the brink of collapse because of this and I have no where else to turn. I am absolutely desperate to find someone who can help me restore this content! ANY ideas??? I can see from various blogs and forums that this is a problem that has affected many so someone out there has to have found a solution and gotten their lives and businesses back ... Read more

I am running Outlook 2003 on a Dell Laptop with WIndows XP. For the longest time, my Calendar has been automatically deleting almost all events older than 3 or 4 weeks. I have turned off the AutoArchiving function all together, but it still happens. I also have tried looking for any old calendar events in my Archive.PST file, but there does not seem to be anything in these files worthwhile.

So, how do I stop this from happening and where do my old events end up going, if not to the Archive.pst folder?

Thanks,

A:How can I have more than two events show up in my monthly calendar?

If you talking about Outlook calendar, it seems like this parameter depends on your window size. Third item shows up when your windows is about 730 pixels high (standard scaling), fourth - 900 pixels high. You can minimize ribbon (little arrow in the top right corner of the window) or change resolution to get more useful space on the screen, but looks like that's about it.

I changed the password to my Microsoft account a couple of days ago and now Facebook events won't sync to my Windows Phone, nor my Surface 2, nor in the online microsoft calendar application.

It shows old events but new ones doesn't pop up. I've tried various settings in the apps and in my Microsoft account settings online. I've tried removing the connection between my FB account and my MS account and reconnecting. I've tried removing the FB account from my phone and resyncronizing (couldn't find such an option on the Surface) but it changes nothing. Facebook events is enabled in the calendar settings on both devices and if I try to manually export my FB calendar to my microsoft calendar it tells me it cannot sync the same account twice.

So according to settings everything should work but nothing works at all!

How can I resolve this?

I suspect that I am not able to do what I would like to but will ask the questions just in case...
I use the Ms calendar on my Lumia 920 which in turn updates the online version at the Ms Live website as well as the Windows Live calendar accessed via my email client.
All good so far.
Problems started when I gave the wife access to my calendar but she keeps forgetting to check it before making appointments for us (which conflict with important things like my golf).
I thought there was a way of having the calendar create an automatic email whenever I added a new event and have that email sent to the wife to alert her to my latest meeting/tee time.
Checked all places where I would have expected to find an option to make the wife a recipient of alert emails but have failed. Seems I can send an update/new event alert to myself but to nobody else.
Can somebody confirm that to be the case. (If I have selected the wrong category for this posting then apologies.)
Thanks in advance.

A:How do I send alerts when new events are add to my Microsoft Live Calendar?

What if you add your wife in the entry you make in your agenda ("add someone" required or better optional) in that case she will get an e-mail (to except) and this entry will also be in your wives calendar.
Not sure if this is the right category but I also do not know which category should fit better.:)

I created an event using the voice recognition in Cortana on my Lumia 930. Fine. Worked beautifully, but it didn't sync with my live.com calendar or Outlook so I created it again manually later. Then I wanted to delete the event Cortana created ... and I couldn't. I have restarted the handset, checked within the 'Reminders' section of Cortana's menu, and tried to delete it within the Calendar app. I still seem unable to remove this rogue event.
I contacted Microsoft support (or their hopeless UK representatives B2X with their slogan 'Chat with an expert', which is just a joke) and was first told to 'enable deletion of Cortana items within the Cortana menu'. There is no such option. Then they told me to delete it from live.com. It doesn't sync with live.com, which is how I came to create the second event. Finally I was told that the only way to remove the rogue 'Cortana events' would be to do a factory reset on my, which seems a little over the top.
There has to be a better way.

Last week I had a registry corruption that forced me to revert to a registry copy from right after I installed Win2k. (I back up my data regularly, but I'd gotten careless about backing up the registry. Learned my lesson the hard way. I have a current ERD now...)

I've gotten most apps running OK again, but I've run into a problem with Outlook. I use it only for the calendar functions. I can open the calendar and all my existing appointments are there and OK. I can delete existing appointments. But if I try to enter a new appointment, or save changes to existing appointments, I get an error: "The item could not be saved to the folder. The folder has been deleted or removed, or you do not have permission."

Since I can access and delete appointments, obviously there are no folder access problems. I searched on the MS KB and on the web, and everything I could find referencing this error message says "you've exceeded the max mailbox size, go delete some mail." I don't use Outlook mail, and my calendar file is tiny, so that's not it.

I'm guessing there's some problem with the registry. It's also possible I outsmarted myself when I recovered from the registry crash. I had to recreate my login ID, but when I did, W2k assigned me to the folder "Gary.W2k" in Documents and Settings. (Actually I think it had done this before, and this time it created "Gary.W2k.000.") A:Hard Drive Crashed - can I add events back to the calendar from invitees?

Welcome to the forums @CParah . Sorry to hear that your drive bit the dust, I know what a pain that can be!

I don't think there's a way to do what you are asking unfortunately. I'm guessing you're storing calendar information locally, rather than using an Exchange/Office365/Google server? There are some free options to store your calendar information on a cloud server so that you can just sync to recover the data (and access it on your phone, etc...). Not much help now, but may help you out should it happen again in the future.

Have you still got the hard drive? There are data recovery tools that may help you get back some data, but perhaps you have already tried this.

While looking at Event Viewer, if I send a file to Print, I can see various entries in the logs regarding spooling and cancelled jobs - all located in:
Microsoft->Windows->PrintSystems
But if I send a print job to an offline printer or if there is some other error, like the printer having no paper. I see no reference to an event in the Event Viewer, even though I receive a slide in notification in Windows 10.
Is there a different service that handles these?
It seems that something is catching those warnings or dialogs, but I just cant figure out which source is handling them? It's definitely not PrintSystems.
Is there an error logging attribute I am not checking regarding PrintSystems? I saw something of the kind in references to Windows 7 but for Windows 10 it seems it has been changed.
The reason is I am trying to create a task referencing these warnings and errors.

I'm new to the forum, but I'm most definitely not new to using multiple virus scan software, HJT, registry cleaners, and malware removal software, but this string of events has me stumped beyond belief. However, I found the shutdown -a option, HiJackThis, Killbox, CCleaner, Regrun, and I currently have the free version of Antivir PE Classic as my anti-virus software. In Groupwise, I can create a view of multi-calendars, such that I can view two people's schedules (mine & my boss) side-by-side. This, however, is a separate view/window than my own mail account.

Is it possible to click on my calendar, in my mail account and still see this side-by-side view?

Hello !! Welcome to SF !!

I guess lot of issues are going on. Lets start with basics

HARDWARE DIAGNOSTIC:

Run Hard Drive Diagnostic and Memory Diagnostic
Start | CMD | Right Click and Run as administrator | SFC /SCANNOW

One if your Dump file is pointing to MpFilter.sys which is a Microsoft Windows Malware protection system driver file. I would recommend to run a complete scan with Malewarebytes. Also some are pointing to the virtualization driver i.e. luafv.sys so if you have any virtual players like VMWare etc. uninstall it and see if that makes any difference.

Hi!

I’m a IT tech and we have a problem here with some users.

In outlook, when creating a appointment and look at the print preview (or when we print), the appointments don’t look the same.

In case A (the case I want to happen on every computer), we see the whole appointment, “multi-line view”.

In case B (the problem), we just see a part of the line (the line’s cut), it’s single-line.

See:

Case A (the OK situation):
Case B (the problem):
I uninstalled Office + reinstalled it and the problem occurs again. On the same Exchange account, on two different computer, I can get the Case A on one computer and the Case B on the second. So I guess it’s not Exchange related.

We use Windows XP Pro SP2 and Office 2003 SP3.

So my guess it’s NT account related or an option in Outlook that I overlooked the 10 times I checked.

Can someone help me here?

Thanks a lot and sorry for my English! 

Greetings.

This is not a desperate problem, but an annoying one. I don't know how the settings changed, and I can't figure out how to fix it.

Ordinarily when I would open up the calendar in Outlook, it would look like this: left hand pane with one or two small month calendars on top - task bar for other Outlook features on the bottom; on the right in the large portion of the screen would be displayed today's date, or another day if I had chosen that date; in the top toolbar are icons for choosing views, i.e., day, week, etc. (there are only two panes displayed)

Instead what started happening yesterday when I open the calendar I see three panes: left hand pane with two tiny calendar icons that say next to them "calendar" and "calendar in archive folders;" there are no monthly calendars; there's a long blank sections; and there's the task bar for other Outlook features on the bottom. In the center pane is a list of events or appointments showing a recurring event icon, the name of the event, the start, the end and the recurrence pattern. In the left had pane is a description of the selected event from the center column.

I've never seen this view before and don't know how I got it. What did I click?

In order to get my ordinary view back, I click the box next to "calendar in archive folders" and that calendar opens. Then I can click the box next to "calendar" and the two calendars (day view) are opened side by side. Now I can unche... Read more

I built this computer about a year ago, and I've had BSODs every one or two weeks for just as long. The problem is that I've never been able to tie them to one program, one driver, or one piece of hardware. All of the diagnostics and general health checks I've run on the system and its hardware come out clean.

Usually the BSODs are far enough apart that I forget about them until the next one comes up, but I've had three or four in the last week alone. Virus scanner shows nothing, and the dump reports through BlueScreenView remain unhelpful because all of the drivers involved seem to be essential system drivers and processes. There's got to be something behind all this, but I can't figure out what. Any suggestions?

So this issue started about 3-4 days ago, but I have had problems prior to that, just with much less frequency.

To begin with, here's the parts list for my computer:

Intel Core i7-3770K, Asus GeForce GTX 780, Corsair 500R White - Home build updated - sarevok9's Saved Part List - PCPartPicker

I have tried running a diagnostic (windows and memtest86) on the ram, and it has checked out okay. I have swapped my GFX card to an older, always-working R9-270x. The problem has persisted through these changes as well as a reformat / refresh. It seems like each time I get a blue screen it's a different error. One time if will be PFN list, the next IRQ Not Less or Equal to. This time it was a System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled. Pre-formatting I also had a lot of "Memory Management" bsod's as well. The seeming root cause always points to ntoskrnl.exe in my blue screen logs.

Attached below are the logs.

I'm going to take an educated guess and assume that these issues stem from my just-barely-out-of-warranty-motherboard.

Hello,

So, I am have been having multiple BSODs from day 0 with my new PC build. I will try to be as thorough as I can to help you help me. I have been lurking and troubleshooting since early February, when my build began. I have clean installed (formatted primary drive every time, formatted secondary drives once) Windows about 3 times now chasing BSODs. I am at my wits end and am calling in for backup (I prefer to figure things out on my own since I then learn from it). My PC serves two roles, Gaming and Virtualization. Ideally, I would be dual booting Windows 10 for light gaming with my son and Debian for work/programming/virtualization.

Home built PC:
Mobo: Asus H170 Pro Gaming
CPU: I7 6700K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX - 32GB
GPU: Nvidia GTX 970
PSU: Corsair HX850 (old, ~4yrs, did not replace for this build)
Primary HDD: Samsung 850 256GB
Secondaries: Samsung 840 256GB (old, from last system, zeroed before first boot with the new system)
WD Green 2TB (old, from last system, zeroed before first boot with the new system)

In February, I built the PC, installed Win10, setup dual boot with Debian, received several BSODs in Win10s (I do not have these dumps, but they were of the IRQL, memory corruption, --- memory related. So, I ran memtest on my RAM, did 2 passes, came back passed/no issues. I figured I would then get it stable with just Windows 10 before attempting a dual boot system. In my MS Office Calendar Monthly view, it shows 6 weeks total. I'd like to reduce this to 5 weeks if possible in order to show more appointments in a day. I've already decreased the font size which added another line each day for an additional appointment. I'd rather not use the upside down triangles to view appointments scrolling off the daily list, but to just view all of them over a 5-week, or even 4 week period in a monthly type format. Right now at 6 weeks showing, it's limited at showing only 4 appointments per day without hitting the triangle. I'd like to increase this to 6 or 7 per day.

Also once I change the view, if I go out of Calendar and come back in it is reset, can it remember the last view you had?

I like to use the calendar view and print a hard copy. All to often there are overflow tasks. I understand the problem--too many tasks on one day to fit. I use a main summary task to parent the entire project and two additional levels of summary tasks to parent the tasks. I believe it is these three levels of summary tasks that is the problem. My question is, is there a way to select the level of tasks to be displayed in calendar view? BTW, I'm using MS Project 2000.

OK, here is a good one...I use Outlook 2003 for business and use the calendar to follow up on opportunities. I set up a meeting for a contact and then put what I want to follow up in the subject line. When I want to work, I choose the current view of my calendar as "Active appointments".

I have customized my columns with start, company, contacts, and subject. My problem is that the "Company" column does not pick up the company name/information from the contact information. There is an exception for one company out of hundreds but I can't figure out how that contact was set up and why it is the only one which shows the information I need.

Hi

I have a user who had a problem viewing appointments in the public calendars and in her own.

On her view, there are a few appointments that show up, but most do not. This happens even if she is logged in to a different machine.

I changed the current view to be Day/Week/Month View with Auto Preview and this allows her to see all the appointments. If it is set to just the Day/Week/Month View she can't see them.

I checked others, and they do not have the auto preview on to see the appointments. Any idea why this would happen?

Thanks

Our HR director has setup her Calendar to be viewed in Outlook 2000 by one of her counsels. I had her setup myself as well, and I get the same error. Any thoughts?

A:Unable to view delegated calendar file

Well...what IS the error?

Are you sure you made them the delegate? That's done under Tools-Options...and NOT via permissions.

A delegate is the only one that can "send on behalf of".

So, if you haven't done the "real" delegate thing, and you're just trying to view someone's calendar, then you need to do this:

Right-click the inbox and give that person permission to at least VIEW the inbox. This does not allow them to see the messages therein. Instead it acts as a "portal" to allow the person to get to the calendar, where you should right-click and set the desired permissions.

Hope this helps.

When you open the calendar there are three tabs at the top (Day, Week and Month). Choose Day.

After multiple Hibernation events: windows login fails to recognize correct password

After repeatedly hibernating the computer for about a week or 2, it will eventually refuse to recognize legitimate password and fail to login, yielding "did you forget your password" message.

IF I shut down the computer (thus losing all open windows) and reboot, the password works fine. I have repeatedly changed passwords, but this does not help.

Windows XP Hibernate feature has never worked properly and that is why Windows defaults with this feature off and hidden from newbies. I love the concept but have always found it to be buggy on every machine it has been on. Periodic shutdown and restart is needed to flush memory, but this is the first time I have seen this particular issue.

It seems to occur when Hibernation fails to stay off and the computer immediately re-awakens when hibernate shutdown is complete. In other words, unit will not stay in Hibernation but cycles back on, unless power cord is pulled. When power is returned, computer may immediately boot up.

This problem began on a newly assembled computer with fresh XP SP2 install. (AMD dual core 6000; 2GB RAM; Asus M2N-E motherboard). All updates done, including XP's problem with dealing with 1GB of RAM and more.

Internet usage is safe and clean on main sites only. I Use AVAST antivirus, Spybot, Ad-Aware. I used a SmitfraudFix as I thought I had an infection.

Gee, I am disapointed that no one was able to suggest something here. I did my part by helping others, so what's the prob?

Because this involves immediate rebooting of the computer(hardware?) AND a software issue of not recognizing password, I am leaning to CPU issue. I have seen some weird issues in past that were CPU. I do not have a tester CPU; I do have anothe MB and may try that.

Hey there,

I've been having some interesting issues with my computer. I'm thinking the RAM might be relevant -> from time to time the computer won't start and will go to a black screen. It will always start with only one stick of RAM in, but I need to fiddle with the second stick for a few minutes until it starts with both.

I've been getting multiple BSOD, from BAD_POOL_CALLERto KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLEDI've posted the zip below, please let me know if you need anymore information -> SFdebugFiles.zip

Thank you very much!

I've been having BSOD multiple times a month and they have become more frequent the past few months. I don't run any games on this computer just Visual Studio, Photoshop and other programs for work. I haven't noticed any patterns that let me pinpoint the issue.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I have upgraded to Office 2007 and am having a problem with the
work week view on my calendar. In Outlook 2003, my work week view displayed the days horizontally, so that I could see all of my appointments for the week/weekend at once. In 2007, the display goes across the screen vertically and my appointments are condensed so I have to roll my mouse over the appointment to see what it is. Also, my screen only shows 8am to about 2pm before I have to use my scroll bar to scroll down to see appointments after that. Basically, I'm unable to view all of my appointments on one screen like I could in 2003. Any ideas how to change the format to display closer to that in Office 2003? Thank you.

Something has happened to my Outlook Calendar - everytime I go into it I get this view of all the holidays and birthdays. My Caledar list shows up, but I have to click on several of the caledars to get the real date book or caledar view to show up. Once I leave to go back to my email it goes right back to the list of holidays and the like.

Any ideas?

Outlook 2007 in the computer of one of the users in my company cannot view or edit a shared calendar. When I try to open the calendar it pops-up an alert that says "You do not have permission to view this calendar"

It doesn't seem to be a rights or permission issue, because when she access using her account information in another computer, she is able to view and edit the calendars. Some of the other computers have Outlook 2007 as well, so I'm wondering if there is a setting or an extra step that I need to configure in Outlook 2007 in order to access those calendars?

A:Outlook 2007 cannot view nor edit a shared calendar.

let me explain:

there r 2 users in ur company : A and B

If A wants share his calender with B then :

1: A needs to grant access to B from his outlook calender. right click on calender- share- calender permissions. Assign the desired permissions

2. Then B needs to ' open' A's calendar in his computer by : right click on 'my calendar' - add calendar - from address book.

Good Luck.

I was not looking and typing away a question in calendar search and I ended up somehow switiching the view to Day from Week. It has always been on week where I want it.

I changed the View setting to week and it seemed fine, but everytime I leave calendar and navigate to mail or contacts and work there and then come back to calendar it is back in the Day View setting............almost like it defaults to there. I have looked around and can't figure out how to lock the Calendar Week View setting like I had before. Ideas?
Thanks,
G

A:Outlook Calendar 2007 keeps going back to Day view from Week

Well, after still trying many things, I found when I changed the view from day/week/month to day/week/month with auto preview that it stayed locked on week view. Not sure why, but seems to have worked. I will monitor it a while and if it seems ok then I will mark the thread solved.

A:Multiple BSODS in the last month while playing games, watching movies

Two issues need addressing before we can investigate the underlying issue.

1-sptd.sys.

Please remove any CD visualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, found in your dmp, called sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads DuplexSecure - FAQ

when you're done you can use this Freeware:

MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM (MagicDisc) in its place

Using MagicISO to create ISO image files

I am using the program "Random Events Sound" to randomize my startup, shutdown, trash, etc. sounds. The program uses the windows list of sound events.

I want to ADD to that list to include the events of loading various programs.... like Internet Explorer for example. Can I do this?

There is an 'event' for "loading programs" but that seems the refer to ANY program, not specific ones.

Hi all,

I was looking at the event viewer and noticed that there are multiple "logoff" events - event id 4634 - associated with the guest accolunt on my computer. The guest account is disabled. There is no associated "logon" event with matching event id although there are numerous SYSTEM logon events and one rather curious "anonymous user" logon event.

I am concerned that this may suggest a trojan but have no other symptons or issues to concern me other than these entries.

Can anyone shed any light?

Hello,
I am learner, who wants to automatize his repetition through combination of Excel and Outlook. I've read some posts on this forum and I see, that it is possible. However, I am totally lame in both Excel and Outlook and script writing. Yup, I am total tech noob.

I want it to look like this (behold, paint-edited picture):

I learn something, then I write down what I learned in excel spreadsheet ('WHAT?' in the spreadsheet) and give it a CODE, which would be shown in Outlook calendar. I write down the in which I learned and my outlook calendar syncs with every one of six repetitions.

I found some VBA (?) codes on this message board, but I have no idea how to implement them to my excel (and even less idea how to change the code). I would really appreciate if you would give me some hints or link (except for google.com ) where this process is described.

Here is link to my excel spreadsheet, if you want.

Thanks in advance.

I just started working with Macros in Excel on Monday. I've been figuring out what I need to do, searching for threads/blocks and adapting them to my needs. However, since I don't know the basics, I frequently come to dead ends. I apologize for my ignorance, but I have to start somewhere and I need to get this project finished. I have a few parts, and I've included code that I've put together/adapted adjacent to my explination.
I have a workbook with a series of worksheets
The first sheet is a Job List and the list has columns for each type of permit that can be selected for each job.
The idea would be to put an X or some indicator in a column if a certain permit is necessary for the job associated with that row.
Each subsequent sheet is one of the types of permits.
Some jobs need multiple permits.
I would like a macro that, whenever anyone adds a job, it automatically updates the necessary worksheets with the job name.
So if Job Blue needs Permit X and Permit Y, the macro will only add the Job Name “Blue” to worksheets X and Y but not Z.

Or

I've created a formula that recognizes if a cell on the job list sheet has been marked and takes the job name from column A. A macro that could recognize when the formula changes results and subsequently autofills the formula underneath the last cell would also work. I've included what I have been putting together.

I have the following, however the line indicated doesn't work:

I know a lot of others are plagued by the Start button issue. I am as well. But, also my Calendar and Calculator stopped working as well.

I have tried SEVERAL solutions. Re-installing all apps via Powershell, re-installing Windows 10 and creating new accounts. Nothing I do seems to help.

Getting tired of this, especially the Start button failing. thanks.

A:Multiple issues: start button/calculator/calendar not working

Hi, tends to be more prevalent where people have done upgrades rather than clean installs, but you're reporting clean installs. Never seen a clear explanation of why it happens- I've run Win 10 on 2 PCs with many progs installed and not had significant problems for months.

Note the Powershell commands used to repair apps e.g. break many post build 1511 (10586) unless there's been a recent change.

Bottom line- to fix your PC
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade - Windows 10 Forums

This keeps all settings and programs.

And support it with 3rd party disk imaging, so you can considerably more quickly than the above get your PC back to a working state.

Also enable System Restore, set up a scheduled task to create a restore point e.g. daily. (The tutorial section can help here on creating the restore point)

To try to diagnose its occurrence, keep a simple log of changes to your PC, and try to correlate that with this happening.

See what happens if you boot to Safe Mode when the symptoms occur. If the start menu etc works then, something is conflicting with Windows. If not, sthg's corrupted. Probably.
