Internet Option, Homepage is faded

Q: Internet Option, Homepage is faded

Internet Option, Homepage is faded out so I can not type in a homepage or use current homepage tab.  I think maybe somewhere there is a setting that is turned off.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thank you!

A: Internet Option, Homepage is faded

Do you have any security/anti-malware and adware scanners set to prevent changing your homepage? That would be the first thing I would check.

Whenever my internet connection has seemed sluggish, I've cured it by rebooting the router ? there's an option for this on the ?192.168.1.1? page.

Strangely, however, this is no longer working. Although the normal screen message appears - ?the router is rebooting, this may take a couple of minutes? - the connection icon in the system tray remains constant and you just know nothing is happening.

Can anyone suggest a possible cause/cure for this? My grateful thanks if you can.

A:Reboot option on router homepage not working

Just re boot the router manually.

Unplug it for 5 seconds then re connect it. Or flip the switch on the surge protector that I just know you have it connected to

Where did you get this router ? It should not be acting like that.

Anything to be done or checked here or is this just an issue with my internet provider?

Try these two programs to help identify and possibly remove the malware. Google was no help. You could also look in the Add/Remove program and see if there is anything new in the list. If you don't recognize one do not delete before checking it by Googling or post back here.Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Start by downloading Ad-Aware,a spyware scanner, install it, update it's signatures, and do a full scan. Fix all the critical objects it finds. Next, I use Spyware Blaster to keep spyware from being able to install.

If all else fails, download HijackThis and post a log file here.

I'm using Windows XP and until some weeks ago I had my homepage set to www.google.com. Something strange has happened to my Internet settings since then and my homepage is now set to another search engine - which is rubbish and is based on company searches. No matter how many times I try to change it back using Internet properties it reverts back to this new search engine.

I guess that an executable has gotten past my Firewall and downloaded onto my machine and made changes to one of the system files. Does anyone know which file I should be looking for - and can I edit the file to remove the alterations?

Hi there

A couple things to try:

1. Download Spybot Search and Destroy from www.downloads.com
Make sure you download the updates after you have installed it (a button called check for updates). Run spybot and click fix selected items when its done. Its a pretty cool tool!

2. If you still have problem: Download Hijackthis from http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/
Copy and paste the log into a new post and one of the forum experts will tell you what to do.

Good luck

Hello,

It has been a while since my last question on here. I usually don't download much but I have recently downloaded a few programs like Livid, Miro, and real player to play movies on my computer. I tried to pay attention to any changes that might be made by the programs like default IE but I seem to have gotten some kind of ...I don't know what to call it. My specific problem is that I cannot change my homepage back to google as it is stuck on searchqu.com/406 (after some of these stupid downloads I did)....When I try to change it to anything else it still goes back to this website stupid search engine that sucks. Also before I had it so that when I closed or opened firefox again it would remember my websites so that I could pick up where I left off but that seems to have gone and I cannot fix it. I don't know if this is a virus I picked up but when I run malwarebytes it doesn't find any infected items. How can I get rid of this? BTW when I open internet explorer it also goes to the stupid site searchqu.com/406.

Thank you all in advance for any help you might provide. This site has always been helpful to me.

Hello and welcome to TSF

What Operating System are you using ? How are you trying to go to Internet Options? Have you tried from Start>Settings>Control Panel Internet Options?
Did Spybot /Adaware find any problems?
Have you scanned for viruses?

What does it do when you try?

Hey there, I just have a question for you regarding Internet Explorer 8.

Roughly two months ago, I accidentaly downloaded a software that came with adware.

It hijacked my computer's Internet Explorer 8 homepage, and changed it to a different website. After doing some research and using HiJackThis, MalwareBytes, and hunting for it in the registry, I was finally able to get rid of it.

Unfortunately, IE8 now refuses to load. And certain programs won't work without it. When I tried to load the web browser, it's stuck during the loading phase and doesn't appear to be connecting to the Internet at all. Only Firefox works so far. I suspect that when I deleted the registry, it hijacked certain key files that had to be removed.

I've tried:Restarting/restoring Internet Explorer
I would've tried system restore, but my computer lacked the system restore point before the hijack occured
Reinstalling Internet Explorer, and it still doesn't work
Reinstalling Microsoft C++ library runtime, as certain programs refused to load without it
Running Windows System File Checker
I don't have any recovery cds
Or a recovery cd for my computer's OS - Windows Vista Home Premium

Do you have any ideas? It would be much appreciated

Hi Orange Blossom, here is the new post - hope I have done as instructed. On my laptop I have Vista and I use ACG fo antivirus. A few days back I began having a problem where one of my homepage websites (commbank.com.au) has been redirected to google.com.au that is t say even though I enter the commbank address in the address bar I just get the google homepage. I ran various scans (AVG, Malwarebytes, Windows Defender, Spybot) without success. Tried Hijackthis but not sure how to interpet the results (tried to fix some things that didn't look right but not sure if what I did was right). I did get a message that Hijackthis couldn't access the "hosts" file but I don't seem to have the option to run as administrator. I checked and the "hosts" file wasn't in the etc folder (there was a file "hosts.old"). I restored the hosts file with HostsXpert but that doesn't seem to have made a difference. On Friday (28 May) IE suddenly appeared to be working as it should then part way through Sunday it was being redirected again and now this morning (Monday 31 May) IE is loading commbank web page again! So an intermittant ptroblem?Your help is much appreciated (thought I'd mention the display driver stopped working for a few seconds during the GMER scan but perhaps that is normal). Here is the DDS.txt log:DDS (Ver_10-03-17.01) - NTFSx86 Run by Steve at 7:35:23.11 on Mon 31/05/2010Internet Explorer: 8.0.6001.18904Microsoft? I am having a very weird problem. Last night, I allowed my 11-year-old niece to use my computer. Apparently, she somehow downloaded the ask.com toolbar. She said she doesn't know how she ended up downloading it, but somehow it got there.

So I went to the Control Panel to find the Ask.com toolbar application so that I could un-install it. I un-installed it successfully then re-booted the computer.

After the re-boot, I clicked on my Internet Explorer icon on my desktop as I always do so that I can start browsing the net. My AT&T Yahoo homepage didn't come up at all. Instead, an Ask.com homepage came up. So I went into my Internet Options settings and changed the homepage setting back to att.yahoo.com. After I did that, I opened up Internet Explorer again, and att.yahoo.com was re-directed to Ask.com.

No matter what website I type in, everything gets re-directed to Ask.com. I went to the Control Panel to make sure that the Ask.com toolbar and its components were completely un-installed, and obviously they were. I see no sign of Ask.com in my list of programs in my Control Panel. I don't know how to get Ask.com out of Internet Explorer.

What should I do? Please help me!

By the way, I'm using Internet Explorer 6.

A:Internet Explorer homepage is being redirected to Ask.com

Never mind. I just went to Ask.com's "Frequently Asked Questions" section and got instructions for how to fix it. It's all back to normal now.

My toolbar and news "ticker tape" come up but nothing else. Any information would be helpful.

I am not sure what I have done, but somehow I have a situation with my IE homepage. I am running Win98 S2 and when I go and log onto the I-net I get this funky address in my browser: http://69.31.79.101/index.html and it gives me real fits. I have changed my home page under the Tools command and that works fine as long as you don't reboot, but the minute you reboot, and restart Internet Exporer, than you are back to the address listed above.

I have Ad-aware and Spybot S&D along with CWS and have used all the programs to no avail. Does anyone have any other ideas what to do. I will look forward to your responses and answer all questions that you might have to help me in this matter, I can't believe that it is that difficult.

Thank you.

I hope this is where I should be I had a Yahoo powered charity toolbar installed on my old computer and it worked just fine. It was a Windows Vista and I was running an older version of IE, although I'm not sure which one. The computer I have now is a Windows 7 and at the time of the problem I was using IE9.
Yesterday I installed the charity toolbar and everything was fine until I tried to go to my homepage and suddenly I was off line and pop-ups about dialing (I have broadband), kept coming up. When I turned on the computer and connected to the internet the first time, which should have brought me to my homepage, it would take me to the charity toolbar's page and when I'd try to go to my homepage... offline again. This only happens on my homepage, I can go anywhere else. The address under internet options is still my homepage too. I'm not having this problem with either Chrome or Firefox.
So, I uninstalled the toolbar and instead of the pop-ups, the "IE cannot connect to this page" page would come up, even though tools shows it's not offline.
Next, I removed the IE9 update, so I have IE8 installed. Now when I try to connect to my homepage, I get the "oops, did you mean this..."? page. The address is my homepage address and the same one written in internet options. When I click the oops address, it redirects me to my homepage, finally.
Does anyone have the slightest clue what's happening?

A:Internet Explorer Will Not Allow Homepage Change

Hello,

The cause of your problem is Zonealarm. Once zonealarm installed, you're not be able to change your startpage anymore.
Unless you boot your computer into safe mode and change it there - but even then, when back in normal mode, it could be possible that Zonealarm blocks the changes again and resets it back to the startpage you had before.

In such cases, to change your startpage, uninstall Zonealarm, reboot, then set your startpage to what you want and reinstall zonealarm again. But keep in mind, once zonealarm installed again, you won't be able to change your homepage again.

A:Internet Explorer keeps changing homepage

You have the most notorious "about:blank" hijack.

In many cases these involve a hidden, locked file which has to be deleted before the problem can be resolved.

To see if you have it:

First download and run : (http://downloads.subratam.org/FINDnFIX.exe)

It will extract a set of files to c:\FindnFix

Run the !log!.bat in the FindnFix folder and post the log.txt file it creates to a reply

edit since it appears this application may not be available due to the author's concerns about misuse, follow these instructions instead.

Copy/paste the quoted text below into Notepad. Select the "All Files" format under "save as file type". Name the file appinit.reg and save it to the desktop. Run it and then copy/paste to a reply the "Windows.txt" file it creates.

Reg save "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows" windows1.hiv
ren windows1.hiv windows.txtClick to expand...

Hello Team,
We have IE 11 v11.0.27 (KB3124275) installed on all our machines (OS: Windows 7 SP1).
We have laptop, desktops, VDI-P, VDI-NP, HSD environment however issue is only on Persistent machines.
When we launch IE 11 it goes to not responding state (this is a random behavior not on every launch it freezes)
Based on our observation this issue occurs with below combination:
- Homepage is intranet site (which gives option to users at very first time to select startup page and then next time onwards it redirects to that selected page automatically).
- Only on persistent machines (laptops, VDI-P)
- menu bar ticked.
As a workaround if we untick menu bar, everything just work fine.
But we are not able to find the root cause why Unticking "menu bar" resolves problem.
Any help would be helpful.

We'll require a HijackThis log from you.

But before you post your log, please read through the sticky first.

Please follow MicroBell's 5 Step process outlined there

After running through all the steps, please download HijackThis - this program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Double-click on the file you just downloaded.
Click on the "Unzip" button to install. It will by default install to the directory - C:\PROGRAM FILES\HIJACKTHIS\

Double click on HijackThis.exe to run the program.

1. If it gives you an intro screen, just choose 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'.
2. If you don't get the intro screen, just hit Scan and then click on Save log.
3. Post the hijackthis.log file

So I think this all started by clicking a link in windows live messenger. Since I clicked that I noticed an immediate difference with my computer. I had problems with msn, but i'm not having those problems anymore. I clicked on my internet explorer and instead of going to www.google.ca (which is my home page), it went to some article website. I have reset my home page to google many times, but everytime I restart it goes back to that other website. I ran a full system scan with Microsoft Security Essentials and it found one infection. It was this, Worm:Win32/Pushbot.gen!C I removed it and Microsoft Security Essentials said it was removed successfully. Then I rebooted my computer to see if I had anymore problems. I did. My home page wasn't google. Microsoft Security Essentials found that same "worm" again. I removed it again. I also unistalled Windows live messenger and reinstalled it, thinking that may be the problem. I don't know what else to do. Can you PLEASE help me!? I've also done this, maybe it will help. Thanks!

Hello I am a first timer on this website. I downloaded Internet Explorer 7 last week on my new HP laptop dv 1000t. My wife and I each have our own partitions on the notebook. Once I had downloaded IE I then was able to change my preference to my homepage to www.comcast.net, I then logged in on my wife's side and it would not allow me to change it. The address keeps re-directing it to www.aol.com. Or at least somethging similar.
Came across your wonderful website and did exactly what Cookiegal had instructed someone else to do.
I found a few redirect files and tried to fix the problem but it would not allow me to do it. Could anyone help please, thanking you in advance.

I am a newbie so please have patience with me

My PC started running very slowly and my IE7 homepage keeps being set to www.3929.cn (a Chinese site). I am also getting Chinese web sites popping up without me clicking on anything. I have searched on the net and ran several Anti-Virus/Spyware programs to try to clean this (Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware, RogueRemover, Spybot Search&Destroy) and my own Norton AntiVirus. Nothing has helped and the problem persists.

Here is my log...

Hi there, I'm new here so feel free to move this if its in the wrong place etc.

I'm fairly sure my Internet Explorer browser has been hijacked. The homepage automatically reverts to http://www.postarticles.net/ regardless of me changing it. Links posted by others online are also shown as directing to some sort of video site. Also possibly related, I've been told that my MSN messenger account has been hacked and is sending spam to others even after a password change. It's not looking good here .
I've download HijackThis and run the scan however I lack the expertise to analze the log. I've posted the log below so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I use a common computer in our company department to access emails with Outlook 2000. Recently I noticed that if an email is sent to me with a hyperlink in it, I find that when I click on the link, I end up getting directed to the Internet Homepage that is setup on this computer instead of the intended link location. We have another computer in the department that we use and it directs the links correctly. I have talk to our IS guy and he has no clue why this is happening. If I copy and paste the link to the Internet address bar it opens properly. I have tried some old emails with links and they are now having the same problem.

I am thinking that the properties for opening up the hyperlink was somehow changed but I have not been able to locate where in Outlook to verify it. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hey all.

Well, I'm at my friend's place right now, trying to remove all the bleep programs from his machine. Now, I've downloaded and installed Spybot: S&D, Ad-aware, BHODemon, CWShredder, updated all of them of course before scanning his computer for spyware, or whatever. On the way, I also installed Mozilla Firefox, just to be on the safe side - you know.

Forgot to mention, it should be obvious though, I also downloaded HijackThis, and scanned his PC, and saved the log - now posting it of course. So, there's that "sp.html" annoying homepage which just... wouldn't go away. I can use BHODemon to remove it every time anew, but it just keeps coming with a different DLL name.

Any suggestions? ^-^;;

A:Unwanted homepage on Internet Explorer web brower

Hi sirdoc

Welcome to TSG!
First download and run This uninstaller:

http://experts.spywareinfo.com/pieter/uninst.exe

*Note: Just click on the uninst.exe and let it run. When it is finished it will just close. There will be no dialogue. Also you must be connected to the internet for the uninstaller to be effective.
Next, use the following tool to delete the files themselves:

http://mjc1.com/files/mo/drpepertobackup.exe
Download it, it will self extract to c:\.

Restart to safe mode.

How to start your computer in safe mode

Before you boot to safe mode you should copy these instructions to notepad and have them on the desktop.
In safe mode Navigate to:

C:\drpeper\Find backup and Delete Peper files.vbs

Doubleclick the....... Find backup and Delete Peper files.vbs file

*Note: If your Antivirus is running a scriptblocker, when you run the .vbs file, you will recieve an alert warning you that the script is running. "Allow" the script to run.

On the first prompt copy and paste:

IqzqA.exe

And hit ok.

On the second, paste:

Ozkx2Xc2.exe

And hit ok.
It will find all the peper files and delete them. Also it makes backups in the same folder.
It will open a text file (Peper.txt) with a list of all files deleted.

I've been cleaning up a badly infected Windows 8 computer. So far I've done scans with MBAM Pro and Hitman Pro. Both found a mix of pups and more serious malware (including one rootkit), and were able to remove all detected items. I've run Ccleaner and also manually emptied the temp folders. The system is free of popups now, but one issue remains; when I open Internet Explorer it loads a rogue search page. I've twice done a full reset of IE settings including deleting user data. The proxy is not set, security zones are at defaults, Bing is the only listed search engine, and the homepage is set to Google.com. Any advice as to how to root out this last problem will be appreciated

Hello, can anyone help me? I have IE 8 and anytime I try to go to comcast.net, it will not stay on the page and defaults to some kind of Dell search page. Any ideas how to open comcast.net in Internet Explorer and make it stay there? Thanks!

A:Cannot keep Comcast.net homepage open on Internet Explorer 8

To be clear about this, Comcast page opens up, then it goes to another page?
It is set as your homepage? I searched the Comcast help forums, and couldn't find anything there concerning your issue.
This is the first time I've ever seen it.

Did this start AFTER you installed IE8?
If it did, uninstall it, and see if your problem is solved. It's worth a try.

There is also the possibility that your system could be infected.
I'm not malware removal expert-but I can put out a call to those who are.
If they think it is malware, one of them will guide you through the clean-up process.

The IP for Comcast is 76.96.54.12.

Copy the numbers, then paste them in your address bar.
Does that get you to the Comcast home page and have it stay there?

My laptop crash, I put in a new hard drive and windows 2000- pro. However I can not establish internet service as DSL is not an option in the installation, also it is not recognizing my cd drive. I tried to install the service pack 4 but it won't work because I need the internet. Any ideas on how I can install internet service?

A:no internet-does not have dsl option

If you have DSL, then you have a DSL modem. From this modem is an Ethernet cord that plugs into your laptop. All you should have to do is plug this cable into your laptop, and bamb, you have Internet access. If that is not the case, you probably need to install the drivers for your network card. Look in device manager, and see if your network card is not recognized. If it has a yellow exclamation on it, then this is the problem. In that case, you'll need to get the drivers from some other computer, put them on a CD/floppy/flash drive and then install them on your laptop.-Ryan AdamsFree Computer Tips and more:http://RyanTAdams.comPaid Tech Support: Black Diamond

Are you running Norton Anti-Virus? If so, there's a "script blocker alert" function within it somewhere. Hopefully, there's also something within NAV's options which will allow you to disable it.

Hi, I've lurked for years but I work at a small MSP with a retail storefront.  I'm a on-site server/networking guy but I'm covering for the in-store service technician position while we hire a replacement.  I've got a couple PCs on the bench that I cannot stop the Internet Explorer from opening an amazonaws compute instance that redirects to http://search.searchbulls.com as the first homepage.  So far I've done the following with this systems:

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking
Run full TRON script from https://www.reddit.com/r/TronScript/comments/3coyyp/tron_v639_20150709_adobe_flash_update_subtool/
Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Run ADWCleaner
Run ESET NOD32 Full Scan
Run and examine HiJackThis logs (cannot find entry that would be causing the behavior)
Run and examine AUTORUNS logs (cannot find entry that would be causing the behavior)
Check HOSTS and LMHOSTS files
Run Hitman Pro
Remove extensions from Firefox, Chrome, and Opera
Perform full reset on Internet Explorer 11
Search registry for any entries referring to amazonaws or searchbulls (none found)
After this all browsers work wonderfully except for Internet Explorer, which works fine and no longer redirects search results EXCEPT for the fact that the FIRST homepage always opens up an amazonaws which redirects to search.searchbulls.com.  Additional homepages open fine upon launching IE.  No matter what I set the first homepage to, it will always end up at search.searchbulls.com.

This morning when my wife opened our Bellsouth homepage, she saw pornographic ads on the right-hand side of the page. She immediately called Bellsouth Fast Access internet tech support, and they told her that they think that we're infected with spyware/malware.

She ran AdAware and deleted some items, and it got rid of the graphic images, but IE still takes several minutes to initially open the program. And you might as well forget about opening another tab.

I ran Spybot tonight and found 2 problems:

1. Company:
Product: DeepDive
Threat: Malware
Description
Installs an browser helper object (BHO) into the Internet Explorer without giving the user a possibility to cancel that process. Also load CoolWWWSearch.OleHelp

2. Company:
Product: TagASaurus
Threat: Trojan
Description
TagASaurus installs itself into the windows directory and tries to connect to the internet. When it is connected it produces several annoying pop ups when the user is browsing the web.

I'm attaching the log with this post. I don't want to fix the problems until I get professional advice.

I ran AdAware again and found 7 tracking cookies.

Finally, I ran Panda Active Scan and found 62 items.

I'd like to attach the logs with this post, but I can't figure-out how to do so. I'll be glad to cut and paste the logs into a separate post if needed.

Can some expert let me know what I'm infected with and how I can get ride of it? And more importantly, how can I prevent ... Read more

Would you like to participate?

I have ran Malewarebytes several times, each time finding and removing the same virus only for it to be put back onto my computer the next day. I have even tried removing the files infected manually without the use of Malewarebytes. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

My homepages on both Firefox and IE have been hijacked by a website called smaxxi.biz. I have tried simply resetting the explorers to theirdefault settings and simply changing the homepage, but once I shut down the computer and boot up again, the problem returns.

With firefox it acts as though it's the first time using it as well, opening up the welcome page and my smartest bookmark add-on settings in one tab and smaxxi in another.

My version of vista is Windows Vista Home Premium version 6.0 (Build 6001: Service Pack 1)

I have downloaded hijack this and my log file is as follows:

I tried updating Firefox the other day and for some reason it utilized BitComet to do so. I believe something attacked my computer b/c since then it's been nothing but headaches. At first, Firefox would load it's homepage as "google.atcomet.com/b/" or just not load at all. I tried uninstalling and resinstalling Firefox, to no avail. So I ultimately removed it. I tried d/ling Google Chrome to see if that would work and it didn't. I found that through my internet options the "use proxy server" box was checked and I unchecked that and Google Chrome works now, but barely. It's sooo slow. I can't even download any programs to further help this process b/c they all start downloading ridiculously slow and time out. I have used several antivirus type programs (AVG, Spybot, Malwarebytes) and while they periodically find something, it's usually not threatening. I had trouble getting Hijack This to produce a log file as my computer was prompting me I don't have admin privileges, though I do. Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond. To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.

Hello,

My brother got his computer infected with... something on 19 June 2016 that, among other symptoms, redirects Internet Explorer's homepage to:

This URL then redirects to another site that offers the following fake security warning:

Being an idiot, my brother thought that this was a legit warning and installed whatever garbage this is (from Firefox, not IE). It would seem that I've mitigated most of the problems with that specific malware (invisible audio ads, unknown USB backup software, random system-resource-abusing processes, etc.) which are either gone or not running. I cleaned the system with Norton 22.6.0.142, then Norton Power Eraser 5.1.0.9, and finally Spybot S&D 2.4.40.0. They removed multiple trojans and trackers, but cannot seem to fix the redirect and other symptoms. At this point, I figured I'd just ask for help rather than blindly running every computer site's "Top 10" antivirus and antimalware tools.

I've noted the following persistent symptoms:
The above described redirect. An additional popup tab/redirect will occur occasionally sending tab to various "$100 Gift Card Sweeps" pages.
Mozilla Firefox's profile is "missing" and wont start. (Somehow, the profile was rescued as "Old Firefox Data" on the desktop. Still not sure what rescued it given the present infection.)
About twenty programs suddenly showed "6/19/2016" as their install date in "Programs and Features" despite being installed several months earlier. F... Read more

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan. This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute filesI would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud? When Should I Format, How Should I ReinstallHowever, if you do not have the resources to reinstall your computer and would like me to attempt to clean it, I will be happy to do so.Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Please let us know what you have decided to do in your next post.

IE6, toolbar, tools, internet options, this operation has been cancelled due to restriction on this computer. This is the version, location, option and error message when I try to access my internet options on the IE tool bar. I cannot access the options from either here or the control panel. How can I change the restrictions to allow me to edit my options. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A:Internet Option Restrictions

I believe you need administrative privileges to make those changes. It sounds to me like you might be restricted from that area.

Hi Guys,

I'm guessing this is more a 2008 server question so point me to a decent forum if you know of one.

Just in case someone knows though,
I need to push an address out to everyone's machine, 90% Windows 7, which needs to be placed in the location on the image attached.

Apart from doing it manually is there a way to push it from the server?

Sorry but this is an English language forum and you need to post your questions in English.

D?sol?, mais c'est un forum de langue anglaise, et vous devez poser vos questions en anglais.

Hi,
I want to open new tab in Ie explorer 7 as home page.
but it opens as blank page.
I changed the option in internet option dialogue box, but the problem is that "apply " button is grey and available to action.
how to change options ?
Please help
best regards

A:IE 7 Internet option problem?

First go to the page you want to be your homepage, then once you're there go to Internet options and click "Use Current" If the apply setting isn't still available just use the Okay button since they do the same thing its just "Okay" applies the settings and closes the options window while Apply leaves it open
