The registry on your computer is severely corrupted. Have you been editing keys in the registry editor?

Try restarting the computer by selecting "last known good configuration" in the boot options.
If the restart does not fix the problem, the registry damage is too extensive. You must reinstall the OS or use the Emergency Repair Disk (ERD) that you previously created by using the Windows Backup tool.

All of your drivers are up to date...

Welcome to SF wolverene71 .

The problem appears to be originating from your USB network adapter but I need more information.
Unfortunately files are missing, so I'm not getting the full picture.
Please run the SFDT again and let it run its course it can take 15min at times to collect all the data necessary.
There should be eight files generated not including the dumps.

You have a 0x124 hardware bugcheck. If the system is still under warranty, I would recommend sending it in to have diagnostic tests done and any bad hardware replaced.

Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!

For your hardware stop 0x124 crash, read through Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try and use the following hardware checks to supplement that link.
If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

If you have an SSD, make sure the following are up to date:SSD firmware

Chipset Drivers
Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.

Hi,

Hope someone can help.

I've had the bluecreen of death happen a few times in the past month when I've started my lapotp, but it's never been a real problem as it's always loaded on the second try. However this morning my system must have been running for about 15 mins of constant bluescreen errors before I gave up trying to log on and went to work. However, the problem is still happening.

The problem message is:

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my laptop is only 6 months old

Many thanks

I'm showing a failing harddrive here.
The dumps are pretty consistent and agree a hard disk fault is the source of error.
If this had been going on I would be quick to blame a related driver. however, Given the consistency and slow but increasing frequency and severity of the problems, you may be due for a new hard drive in that machine.

...I would let someone else verify this before making any purchases or going in for service though.

In the meantime run a disk check on it if you can.

Stop 0x116's are a fairly straight forward error - follow the suggestions here for starters: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...eshooting.html

As stated in the above link, if all the tests don't fix it, then you'll have to try a new video card. As this is a laptop, then there won't be much else that you can do.

As it's only a week old, if you figure out that it's a hardware issue - take it back for an exchange. But don't wait for long as each state has different rules for how long you're entitled to an exchange - and if you miss the exchange period you'll be in for a long wait while it's repaired.

Okay so I bought a computer two months ago from a guy who custom builds them but he hasn't responded to my questions so hopefully somebody here can help since im not very tech savvy. The computer started freezing on me once in a while about a week after the purchase but now I can barely play a game without it freezing. If I try to do a raid on world of warcraft thats a guarenteed freeze. Heres the message it gives me when I restart. It says windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown and it gives me the option to find a solution to the problem which comes up with nothing.

Welcome to SF!

This is a quite simple fix. ZoneAlarm is causing BSODs, no surprise. It is well known for causing problems in Vista and 7.

Uninstall it, and then run this removal tool: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

Install Microsoft Security Essentials instead.

Help please. I keep getting the bluescreen. It used to happen after every few days now its happening everyday. I've attached my dump, hopefully I did it right.

I'm currently running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I purchased from retailer over a year ago. Everything is in its original state from when I purchased it. I didn't change anything. I'm not very savvy with stuff like this so direction and any help will be appreciated.

Hello Elle & Welcome to SevenForums!

Easy.

Looks like you have a bckd.sys which is K9 parental web filter. Could you uninstall this? It appears in most of your completed .dmp files.

The web filter is taking from http://www1.k9webprotection.com/, does this look familiar?

I have Win7 for my OS, and sometimes when I start my computer, it has a blue screen then it goes on an endless loop of startup, bluescreen, a black screen with an option to start with previous setting or start windows normally and then it just restarts. To get in I have to press the power button to restart and it works fine. After I press it and login this appears:

Among the dmp files, there is one exception code whic is ffffffc0000005, which might suggest memory corruption. Please download third party called memtestx86, burn it to CD and let it run for at least 5,6 passes.

Also, In looking through your driver, I can see that you use both Symantic antivirus as wells as AVG. I don't recommend you to do that, I used to do that and I couldn't even recover my system (not kidding).
I see that you have AVG anti virus installed. AVG is known to cause BSOD, on some systems. I suggest that you uninstall it while trouble shooting using the uninstall tool > Info > Tool (32bit) - Tool (64 bit). If you have AVG Identity Protection installed, uninstall it also >Info > Tool. I recommend that you install MSE and make sure Windows Firewall is turned on.
Use this to remove Symantec Antivirus (for testing):

How to find and post your Minidump Files:

My Computer > C Drive > Windows Folder > Minidump Folder > Minidump Files.

It is these files that we need (not the folder). Attach to your next post the five most recent dumps. Notice the Manage Attachments button at the bottom when you go to post the next time. You can Zip up to five files per Zip; if you only have one or two you don?t need to zip them, just attach as is. Please do us a favor and don?t Zip each one individually.

both .dmp files run though debugger come up as a 0x7F which in my experience is Low-level hardware corruption, such as corrupt memory (RAM), Mismatched memory modules and or a malfunctioning motherboard ?

I would first suspect out of date drivers as most of yours appear to be from July of 2009 and I can see Dell offer drivers from 2010

for instance tdx.sys a component of your network driver is a year out of date

please go to Dell Studio XPS 1647 and update all of your drivers, if you use the service tag you can have dell identify your laptop and tell you which drivers are available

also please check your Bios version ?

let us know how it goes

i just purchased a new laptop (hp dv7-4077cl entertainment notebook) a couple of days ago and the system repeatedly restarts unpredictably (i come back to my computer and see that it has restarted and needs the password to be entered). The Windows 7 is 64-bit and is the original OS on this device as an OEM. the OS has not been reinstalled.

i have zipped the perfmon & bsod dump output folder as an attachment.

i am hoping that there is a simple fix -- otherwise, i probably will return the laptop since i purchased it only a couple of days ago.

thanks for all of your help!

these are caused by hpdskflt.sys, hpdskflt.sys is a driver for the onboard mobile data protection sensor.

I would simply re-install the driver

My Windows 7 . . .
- Home Premium x64
- Original installed OS on the system
- An OEM version
- I don't know where to find the age of system (hardware) but I just bought my hp dm4 around two weeks ago so I guess the system is quite new?
- I have re-installed the OS once because I tried to installed the Professional version but it won't work so I reinstalled the OS to its factory mode.

I'm having a problem with my computer appearing to shut off and becoming unresponsive.

I usually keep my laptop on most of the time, just shut the lid to turn the screen off. But often times when I re-open it, the screen won't turn back on, and everything becomes unresponsive; until I press the power button at which point it shuts off, and restarts asking me if I'd like to start in safe mode.

Here's the error that comes up once I restart:

Hi, when my laptop wakes up out of sleep mode, it freezes, and other times when I restart it freezes at the "Starting Windows" splash screen. At times safe mode won't even work, and only after a few hard reboots, my laptop boots. I have attached:

1. The error on startup (BlueScreen)
2. .dmp files
3. PERFMON html file

These are all contained in the "BlueScreen INFO.zip" file.

Thanks for the assistance!

The SPP Notification Service has some problems - this is related to Software Licensing.
Are you sure that you have a legal copy of Windows and that it's properly activated?
Just FYI - If this is an illegal copy of Windows there's no telling what's causing the problems - and we can spend weeks looking for the issues without solving anything.

The VNC Server Version 4 also has issues. Please uninstall it and don't reinstall it until we're done troubleshooting.

There are a minimum of 55 hotfixes available for Win7, your system only has 48. I'd suggest visiting Windows Update and getting the rest of the updates immediately.

All of the errors are STOP 0x124 (more info here: BSOD Index )
This is an error that your CPU reports to Windows, and as such there's not much information that's readable.
These errors are mostly hardware problems, with compatibility issues coming next, then Windows issues, then 3rd party driver issues (not everyone agrees with this).

So, start by checking your hardware for issues - wiggling cards, checking cables, testing hardware, etc
Also check for compatibility of your hardware and software at this website: Windows 7 Compatibility: Software Programs & Hardware Devices: Find Updates, Drivers, & Downloads

As is typical with most HP systems, there are a number of outdated drivers on your system. Please visit the HP website and update the motherboard/chipset drivers and the storage drivers for your system. Here's a link to the typical drivers... Read more

I just received my new computer yesterday. After first starting the computer and going through windows 7 setup, the first thing I installed on my computer was my virus protection software. Later I downloaded City of Heroes and began playing. A few minutes in to the game, the screen turns a odd color and restarts. Upon restarting windows this is the message that pops up.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
Please attach the DMP files to your next post not to post one.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

A:Problem Event Name: BlueScreen! Help!

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

* Zip up the copy.

* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

You obviously have a minidump created by this crash for a proper analysis of the problem we will need you to follow these instructions.
http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

In fact the only thing I really need is the
C:\Windows\Minidump\052911-15163-01.dmp
zipped up and attached to your post.
the additional information provided by following the steps at the link above would help more, but they are a absolute requirement.

hey all,

i just recently installed windows 7 64bit version ... and ever since i have been having trouble where my computer just freezes. i never had a problem when i was on vista.

what usually happens is that i loose wireless connection, then everything slows down if i try to shutdown the computer will just stay on the shut down screen. the only thing i can do i manually shutdown (keeping hold of the power button).

once restarted i get the following error

Hi Ricecakes777, Welcome to SF,
I guess the issue is your athrxusb.sys (Atheros WLAN Card) you could uninstall the existing driver and download the latest drivers from manufactures website.

Also i would recommend to run System Integrity Checker

Start > Run > CMD > Right Click and Run as administrator > SFC/ SCANNOW

Hello, was referred to Vista by boopme after determining my problem probably was not spyware/malware (we ran SAS, MBAM, TFC, ATF, ESET). I'm running a Sony Vaio PC with vista that was purchased almost four years ago. 160gig hard drive and 2gig internal RAM. I first began to notice problems with an increase of physical memory (which I understand to be RAM) usage some time ago.Physical Memory usage is now even higher than before. With only Firefox running its pushing 80%. Recently the computer started crashing. I receive a blue screen that quickly disappeared. Hi,
I need help how to resolve this problem
I've attached the .dmp file.

Regards

A:Problem Event Name: BlueScreen

The cause of your blue screens is seems to be NIPALK.sys which is a driver for National Instruments NI-PAL.

The NI-PAL drivers appear to be incompatible with Windows 7.

You could try uninstalling them and rebooting, to see if that helps.

Please provide this information for a complete look at your problem: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

This is a STOP 0x124 error. As such it's usually hardware based, although compatibility issues could cause it also.
So, what have you done to the computer recently?

I'd suggest that you isolate where the buzzing is coming from. If, for example, it's the fan on your CPU cooler - this could be an overheating issue.

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:

"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception".

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver... Read more
