I'm getting BSOD during normal use (whether it be web browsing or during a game). Memtest86 got 0 errors in 4 passes. CrystalDiskInfo and SSDlife both say that my drives are "healthy." CPU temps tend to hover between 40-60 degrees Celsius.

I've attached the dump files as the forum rules stated. Since this could be a drivers issue, I included a drivers list as well.

Here are some dump analysis from WhoCrashed.

Recently my old laptop has been playing up, I don't use it but my parents do. So, the laptop was infected with the Antivirus 2009 after surfing the web and I removed it using malwarebytes program. Then shortly after the laptop would show a blue screen, displaying "KERNEL STACK INPAGE ERROR" and then reboot.

After the reboot, my laptop seemed to run fine, I downloaded AVG antivirus software to check if there was a boot sector virus (?) and after running the laptop for about 30 minutes, it showed the blue screen again and reboots. This kept on occuring.

Then I tried to reformat the laptop. The first time I tried to format it as FAT32, it got to about 60% before rebooting. The second time I managed to get past the formatting (FAT32 [quick])and I got onto the part of installing windows. About 20 minutes into the installation. A stop error appeared "STOP C0000218 Unknown Hard Error". Could the hard disk be corrupt?

Any ideas on what I can do to savage the laptop?
Thanks!

This is generally a registry corruption issue. There is a technically complicated method of recovery, but if the drive is really bad you are just going to get it again.
http://aumha.org/a/stop.php#0x218

Before replacing the drive, and since you have already done a clean install just prior --you might do another, but try removing and reseating the drive first.

Since I have installed NIS 2004 on Win ME, when I am doing the check to autorize my applications to access Internet, a pop-up with the folowing message:

This problem is been happening for some time now. I have not used this computer for a while. I update the Geforce driver and also all the window updates. I ran malware check and antivirus scans everything comes up clean. What can I do to solve this issues, I am at a loss and our local Microcenter Tech group says everything checks out.

Well i'm new here and i would like to say one thing and if this is the wrong palce to post this than please moves this anyway I don't know squat about computers. Recently i have had this message that pops up every time i turn on my pc. The error message says," nt kernel error 1256......." I can't remember more but it has something to do with the system registy.
It slows my computer down alot and causes many crashes of the computer and lots of other bad stuff. I can't even use my computer to its full extent. I'm using a sony vaio windows xp.
Its kinda old like 7 years old but i really don't have the cash as of now to get a new one. If some stuff is need to buy like programs or w/e i'm down with that but they gotta be purchasable from the store because i don't trust internet. I've been scammed many times by people saying they can fix my computer with this and that and these kinda programs saying all i gotta do i pay 30$. I will buy stuff from store if i need to but it has be like under 50$ cause my dad is like MEGA cheap. I really need help and will update with more details of the problem when it pops up again( it pops up every now and then) I also have no idea what i did.

A:Nt kernel error

Update: Well the error also seems to mention a kernel debugger and some more numbers. I've fixed it once but it comes back in about a week or so. I don't remember how i fixed it though

Hey guys, I have a dell inspiron 1545, windows 7 64 bit, 18 months old, it recently crashed. I was playing music on Grooveshark when it started clicking loudly, it then went to a blue screen which said something about a kernel but it disappeared so fast I couldn't read it properly. Then it tried to reboot but it froze so I turned it of manually with the power button left it for a few minutes and turned on. It has been running normally ever since apart from a faint internal clicking that I had not noticed prior to the blue screen. Please help and if you could keep it simple that would be good because I'm not that computer savvy, thanks

Hey guys, so, im getting the ye ol' Kernel 43; long story short, i was getting constant BSOD because of bad timings on my rams, i fixed that by enabling DOCP on my motherboard and while it "overclocked" my ram, it did a mini auto overclock on my CPU, a 4 year old Phenom II BE 960T, while it was running slightly hotter, it wasnt anything critical, well the BSOD stopped...till i started getting this kernel; back then it was 2 weeks apart from each error sometimes even a week, i thought i fixed that, by removing the CPU overclock and manually setting my rams. But last night, i got a new kernel, 1 month and 7 days later.

I dont really know what else to do, is the CPU dieing? is it getting fried? the PSU is brand new and its a EVGA 600B Certified. I guess, here is the log

Merely an intuitive accessment, but the fact that the problem occurs during games, and with the color changes, makes me wonder how you installed the video card and driver. Boot into Safe Mode, open the Device Manager and uninstall the display adapter. Select Show Hidden Devices...just in case there is a ghost of the previous video card (if there is, delete it), run Driver Sweeper to remove any remanents of the driver itself. Do not touch anything that says VGA, reboot to Safe Mode and reinstall the driver.

I have replaced the hardrive once with another 20 gig from ebay of the same type and model number and now this one has done the same thing within 20 days.

 DRIVER VERIFIER

   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.
Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

Hey...

First it's great to have joined an excellent forum with what looks like a great community!

I keep getting the stated error above and i have managed to deduce that my pc unexpectedly shuts down when im using my firefox browse and looking at streaming sites and sometimes it randomenly would shut down. Also an hour ago or so i went onto speedtest and my pc shut down with that error. I tried again and it shut down again on speedtest. So im not sure whats going on really, perhaps a flash problem or something? I manage to play games fine with no crash at all and removing my realtek audio drivers it seemed to fix like sometimes i would boot my pc and 5 mins or so on my desktop it would crash. Well here are my specs and the error in detail.

Howdy,

I got this error last night sometime in the wee hours. I usually leave my PC on most of the time since I use it for work and have sensitive files that need backed up nightly. I always set my Windows PC's to not reboot after BSOD's from experience so I can better analyze. When I woke this morning the PC was at a BSOD.

A Little background on my system:

Windows 7 Ultimate
AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz
OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 running at 800mhz
Western Digital Caviar RE WD2500YD 250GB 7200 RPM SATA
MSI K9A2 Neo-F AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard
HIS Hightech H467QT512P Radeon HD 4670
Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Black SATA

I also have two USB external Drives. One is a Western Digital 320GB and the other is a Hammer MoreSpace 1TB. My backups go to the Hammer MoreSpace drive nightly. I use Genie Backup Manager Pro for all my backups. One of the backups is from my C drive to the Hammer Drive at about 1am. The other backup that runs later is from the WD320GB to the Hammer Drive.

I could not locate the minidump file in Windows. I was under the impression it was C:Windows/minidump, however there is no such directory in my system, C: is my boot drive.

Here is the only error I can see that occurred multiple times at around the time I would guess the system crashed.

My Laptop ACER 4741G
Worked perfectly, Recently updated to Win 8 64 Bit Professional Version after that it's getting BSOD with kernel inpage error Please Check and let me know the fixes

A:kernel inpage error

There aren't any memory dump files included in the upload.
When does the BSOD happen? During the boot process or during the shutdown?
There aren't any signs of BSOD's in the WER section of MSINFO32 either - but there are Live Kernel Event (sometimes these are records of unexplained shutdows).

Please do this:

Upload Dump Files:
NOTE: If using a disk cleaning utility, please stop using it while we are troubleshooting your issues.
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service. Then post the link to it in your topic so that we can download it.

Also, search your entire hard drive for files ending in .dmp, .mdmp, and .hdmp. Zip up any that you find and upload them with your next post.

A:Getting Kernel Power error ID 41

I just cleaned the filters of my ventilators. Now cooling works way better and I don't have crashes like you have anymore. After half a year of daily work everything was closed with dust.
If dust is not the reason it may be your cooling is not efficient enough after buying a new graphics adapter for instance. Also check if your power adapter has enough capacity.
Hope I could help.

Hey guys,

I've bought a PC in February 2010, I must say it's a wonderful thing!

However... For some reason when I play YouTube movies in fullscreen or play (heavy) games. My computer stops responding, the screen turns black and it looks like something is trying to fix the display all the time. But it doesn't succeed.
Now I really want to know what's going on, I've seen a lot of topics about this problem but none of them really seemed helpful to me.
The only thing I get out of this is when I start op the Event Viewer, I only see 41 Kernel-Power.

My PC Specs:

Intel Core i5, 2,66Ghz
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5770
Gigabyte P55-UD3R Motherboard
OCZ 2x2GB DDR3 PC10666 CL7.0 Platinum
Cooler Master CM620
WD 750GB HDD

Now that's pretty much it, if you guys could help me out please do! Thank you!

Hey everyone,

I have a problem. This has been happening for generally a long time since I got my PC over a year ago. Generally, what usually happens is when I leave my computer on for a long time, these things tend to happen

1) Computer gives BSOD with no specific error
2) Screen goes blue and I touch mouse and everything is back to normal
3) Screen goes blue and I touch my mouse but certain files are missing and freezing. Ex. When I click Chrome it would say file does not exist or file is no longer available. Try to click but nothing happens.

After these things would happen, I would usually just restart and it would be fine. These events have happened alot but I generally ignored them and just kept on restarting my computer when it happened.

More recently, I turned on my computer, logged in, and after a couple of minutes it would randomly freeze my screen and then after a while a BSOD would show up saying "Kernel Error" Or something along those lines. This kept on happening for a while now and I didn't think I would be able to get back on my computer. I just restarted it now and it worked, as of now II'm typing this hoping it doesn't happen again.

A:Kernel-Power 41 (63) Error

2 primary issues with Asus P5 mobo's that I've seen:
- ASACPI.sys driver dated from 2004 or 2005 - must be updated to the 2009 version
- memory issues - check both the Asus website and the memory manufacturer's website for the proper timings/settings/voltages for your RAM (don't use Auto).

Hi,

My computer started crashing 2 months ago while I was saving a game I was playing. This only happened at first while saving, eventually the save game file corrupted. The blue screen stated: Kernel Data Inpage Error and the Tech Info was- Stop 0x0000007A (0xc02017F8, 0xC000000E, 0x805FEF75, 0x05612860). The computer started getting slower and wouldn't save the game at all and would display the same Kernel data inpage error screen (with perhaps different tech info) when I tried to Defrag.

Eventually the performance got worse and the blue screen crashes more frequent regardless of what I was doing on the computer (like Word)- I generally noticed though that saving something would generally cause a Kernel Data Inpage error even after I uninstalled the game where the problems started. The computer ran its own check on start up because it stated there was a consistency problem. I did run a check disk and it did note some bad sectors. I did disable secondary caching and that helped but not for long. I couldn't disable caching all together as it ran way too slow.

Now the computer won't even boot XP regardless of safe mode or not. The blue screen is that there is a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to my computer. Stop 0x00000024 (0x001901FF, 0x812F74F0, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000). The real problems started around the time I reinstalled XP but I can't remember if the first crash was before or after that.

I think that it is a... Read more

I have a 2001 Dell desktop with a pentium 4, with 1.5 Ghz and 128 MB RAM.

I bought it with windows ME but upgraded to XP 6 months ago.
I thought my problems were due to ME, but the problems have continued since my upgrade.

MY PROBLEMS:

1. Very slow start up, sometimes up to 10 minutes!

2. Very frequent blue screen and crash at start up and other times. Perhaps one out of every five times I use my computer. The error at crash seems to be, "Kernel inpage error" - but it varies.

3. Online speed is inconsistently slow even though I have a cable modem.

4. My computer is unable to handle multi tasking, such as listening to music while surfing the web, or opening more than one application.

5. In general, performance is very slow and unstable.

Any feedback or suggestions for improving my computer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. David

A:Kernel Inpage Error?

It might be worth testing the RAM and hard drive.

Here's a RAM tester: http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

Not sure what hard drive is in it but its a good chance it might be a Maxtor drive: http://www.maxtor.com/en/support/downloads/powermax.htm (it might work on your drive even if its not a Maxtor drive. backup any critical info before ruunning.

Also, if you used a Windows XP upgrade you could have just transfered any software problems from ME to XP. These problems could be Windows problems, a virus, or spyware.

Try doing an online virus scan and download, update, and run Adaware. You want to fix any problems it finds.

Whats wrong with my computer?

That sounds like more of a virus problem to me. Can you get network activity in safe mode with networking?

Not having access to the task manager is a tale sign of a virus infestation.

Hi!
I have a problem. After upgrading from windows 8.1 to 10, when laptop goes to sleep mode, it won't turn on anymore. If I disable driver signature enforcement it starts normally.
What could be wrong?
Error file is in attachment. Thank's in advance!

A:Kernel power error 41

A driver( hopefully the latest driver you self installed) was a unsigned driver.
What you could try is.
Uninstall this driver.
Then boot into windows with disable driver signature enforcement and reinstall this (unsigned) driver.
And hopefully your computer when goes to sleep mode turn on normally.

I got problem same as many people on this forum. System reboot without any warning or blue screen. Happened to me only when playing CS:GO, game uses a lot of CPU and I have seen 50-60 degrees. Tried to install all new updates for bios and gpu but is still not working, even worse - now I got restarts after 5 min of game.

Please find report attached.

Probably will go back to windows 7, but I got this spec only from December and I dont think it has anything to do with power supply. But im very new in hardware and software. Would like to ask for possible solutions.

I have a rather perplexing issue with a PC.

For the last week we were unable to get past the boot screen. I could run the PC in safe mode and was able to backup the files. I then restored the system back to 11/1/06 and did a repair on the windows install

Since then we have had the PC BSOD twice.

1st

0x00000077 (0xc000000E,0xc000000E,0x00000000,0x01A23000)

After this it failed to recognize the hard drives at all

Hi, a couple of days ago I installed a file downloader. Since yesterday if I try to copy/rar/transfer some specific subfolders in the downloaded file directory my pc crashes with the kernel inpage error. Maybe is caused by the overloaded Hdd but it's from about two years that I have 3-4 GB free.
Thanks in advance

A:Kernel Inpage error

Kernel data inpage error = stop 0x7A.

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup program before you upload another zip.

What exactly is the issue?
What does the computer do when this problem occurs?

All this event log is saying is there was an unexpected shutdown, the OS lost power suddenly.

There are no bugcheck parameters so it's not a blue screen, that's not very helpful as blue screens help us understand the issue.

With the hope of sorting things out, I've reinstall the Windows XP Professional in which I'd formatted the hard-drive as well, but am still getting the following error messsages, in the blue background, as follows:
1. UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Part of the entire message saying: Disable BIOS memory options such as cashing/shadowing.......

Last line reads:- STOP: 0x000000ED

I can't even go to the BIOS setting by pressing "Del" key, since if I do so, I come across this error AGAIN.
2. System freezes & displays:

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

Last line reads: - STOP: 0x0000007A
When I switch the laptop off (by pressing the power button) & press it back again to switch it back on, SOMETIMES I come across Error no. 1 and sometimes I come across Error no. 2

Since, I've formatted the hard-drive before reinstalling the Windows freshly, I should imagine there's something wrong either with BIOS or with Disk itself.

I can't go to the BIOS but when I tried repairing the disk using "CHKDSK" (as Microsoft's knowledge base recommends) it goes only upto "32% complete" and stops saying "one or more unreparable error occured (something like that)" and when I can't even use "CHKDSK \P" or "CHKDSK \F". I've also tried "FIXBOOT", which works but the Error message hasn't stopped.

From time to time, I can't do much work since Error no. 2 displays within 10-15 ... Read more

A:Boot And Kernel Error ?

What is the make & model of this laptop?
It's a bit odd that it will survive a windows re-install yet won't let you do something as simple as entering your bios setup menu. All the indicators point to the drive going south or defective memory.
You do not need a "new" bios. The worst thing that can happen there is the cmos battery going dead and the system losing it's HW perimeters. However, you do wan't to get in there.
Start by removing and reseating both the drive and memory modules.
Post the make and model as soon as you are able.

Hey all,

I have a gateway GT5662 (http://www.gateway.com/product_spec.php?product_recid=529667852), running Windows 7 (upgraded from vista). While I was running vista, and even now, I keep getting Kernel Power errors. They're all the same: Source is Kernel-Power, Event ID is 41, Task category is (63). The computer sometimes reboots spontaneously, sometimes gives me wavy lines and then a BSOD, sometimes shuts down and refuses to start until I turn off the power and wait for a while. It seems to occur randomly, with neither rhyme nor reason. I did by a Back-UPS CS, thinking that it was brownouting. That helped for a little bit, but it's started doing it again--12 times in the last week. I have hit the forums, and the tips seem to be all over the board--some people say it's the audio drivers, others say it's a graphics issues, still others say it's a power issue...one guy even said his case was shorting things out! Any help will be much appreciated, and if you need any more information, please don't hesitate to ask.

This is the third time that this has happened so I'm in need of some help.

It always happens when I'm scanning my laptop with AVG or SAS. I would get the blue screen of death saying there's a bad sector and it has something to do with the kernel fault checker data or something like that but Windows fixed it. So then I try the chkdsk /f thing and reboot again so I think everything is fixed. The error doesn't happen consecutive times but enough to know there's a problem.

Any help please?

Hello. I'm new here and I need your help. Lately just after I updated my Windows 8.1 all of the sudden my PC started shutting down for no reason and I had to restart it. It often occurs during the morning hours, but it also occurs during the evening hours, too. It's a Kernel Power error with Event ID 41, Version 3, Level 1, Task 63.

Here's the zip file and text document attachments I made which contains more information about what's going on with my PC.

Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A:Kernel Power Error ID 41

EventID 41 is simply Windows' way of saying it doesn't know why it was shut down. Investigation of other error reporting mechanisms, logs, reports, etc will help. It can be caused by BSOD's, overheating or other hardware problems, or even shutting the computer down by holding the power button.

Let's start with this:

Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

FYI - If we're looking for Event ID 41 errors (unexplained shutdowns), there's more info on that here: Windows Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008 R2

Hi guys.

My laptop always crashes, totally randomly, and I highly doubt its due to me doing any heavy multitask. It does it usually when I use Bittorrent and iTunes together.

I thought it could be a problem with the RAM as I only have 1GB with Windows 7, so I upgraded to 2GB, although it runs much smoother now, it still crashes.

I've checked the Windows Event Viewer, and it crashes due to Event 41, Kernel-Power; (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.)

Right before this happens, I get 2 other errors, Event ID 6008 Source; EventLog (The previous system shutdown at 4:56:25 PM on ‎10/‎14/‎2010 was unexpected.)

....and Event ID 4 Source;spdt (Driver detected an internal error in its data structures for .)

These 2 errors NEARLY ALWAYS come up before it crashes with the Kernel-Power error. Although sometimes its only Event ID 4.

I've tried updating the wireless adapter driver with no luck.

Any suggestions pleaseeeeeee?

Try using a genuine Windows 7 Installation - a DELL OEM licence on retail motherboard such as yours can only be 'genuine' if enabled using a hackers activation exploit.

You won't receive further help until you can demonstrate you use genuine Wihdows 7. That will also minimise the problems you are experiencing.

Paging errors like these come from three sources

memory overlay
bad ram
bad disk
(1) is caused by infections and the other two need to be tested

Hey everyone,

This is my first time posting here, but I have lurked around and read all the threads I could find in regards to this error. I know it's a general error, but I plan to provide as much information as I can.

For the past 4 months, my desktop has been shutting down during games. It doesn't matter what the settings are on, but it simply shuts off and reboots without any warning.

This happens approximately 45 to 80 minutes into a session.

I have recently replaced/tested:

Replaced Motherboard
Replaced PSU (3 times)
Replaced Graphics card
Reinstalled OS twice
Cleaned the entire case
Re-applied thermal goo on processor
Checked the fans, and made sure they worked
Opened my case and placed a fan on the side to create circulation
Replaced ram
Ran memtest on new ram, no errors

I have no clue what steps I should take next, and I can only assume thus far that I either have another faulty PSU or my processor is starting to go.

I have attached my system information as well as my system tempuratures/volts.

Please let me know if there's anything else that would be helpful.

Thanks!
Steven

i made http://www.memtest86.com/ test from diskette- and it said- Pass complete, no errors.

i tried to reset and defragment paging file- but it doesn't help.

i tried to run http://www.hdtune.com/ test- but the fast test shows no errors, while the complete test stops at about 43gb, and then i get "Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error"

Hi,

I have an HP Pavillion Entertainment wireless laptop/Windows XP. Over the last week, I randomly receive a blue screen that says "kernel data inpage error" that disappears before I can read the other text.

It attempts a reboot, then during that another screen pops up that says " unmountable boot volume" and again tries to reboot.

I then get a screen of safe mode choices with normal highlighted, and a numberic countdown. Doing nothing, it reboots again.

Finally I get an "apology screen" and my computer starts in a seemingly normal fashion until it randomly repeats this entire process, minutes or hours later. (It is occurring more and more frequently...such that I am afraid it will sometime not come up at all.)

I don't know if this is helpful information to add, but I have gotten a memory warning and internet automatic closure before. And my sound has been acting strangely too. Hit/miss.

After getting the memory warning, I went into C and got rid of files that were unused.

Obviously, I am up now, but who knows for how long???

TIA

Hi,
Are you still having this problem? If so, try running checkdsk if you have the recovery CD.

A friend of mine is having problems with his pc , the hard drive is making a loud ticking noise but not as if it is under load but more mechanical.

Together with this he had a whining noise from his headphones, then the pc blue screened and gave the message above in the title.

I am not sure what it isas I live in the uk and he is Swedish lol. I deally I would like to hear it myself.

Any ideas would be great

Cheers

A:Solved: kernel _stack_inpage error

Hi Gus,
Loud ticking could be caused by 'Hard Drive Spindles' starting to wear, came across this quite a few times.
Along with the Kernel_Stack_Inpage Error it probably points towards hard drive, although it can be caused by Boot Sector Virus, Bad Blocks on Hard Drive and Defective RAM.

Hi All,

Firstly, I must say this forum offers great Windows 7 advice and detailed instructions for non-techie gurus like myself! Keep it up!

Recently, my shutdown time is inconsistent ranging from 20 seconds to 2 minutes and I think the culprit is Kernel-PnP error which I've found under the Event Viewer. I'm not absolutely sure but I believed this should be the cause as there are no other errors displayed.

This is what is shown in the Event Viewer under Customs View => Administrative Events

Has anyone encountered the same scenario? Is it due to some registry settings that's causing the problem?

Can some experts shed some light on this and what are the resolution ways to trouble-shoot this issue?

Thanks very much in advance!

HERE is a link to a similar problem, a different ID code :
windows 7 kernel-pnp event id 219 task catagory 212
Here is a link to a similar code which may suggest it is a finger print device:
VAIO Z WIN7 X64 fingerprint driver problem

Most of the search results with a similar id say its the finger print device so try to find an updated driver for your finger print device or post back your laptops id number/name OR GO TO THE MANUFACTURES SITE - support - downloads - and select from a list your laptops name or type it in, and you will be taken to a driver page, and then select your OS - assuming you have a laptop, and my guess its the finger print driver you need is correct.

*If you go to device manager and find the finger print device, and it has the same ID your in business, or check each device till you get a match - right click the device - click properties - details - hardware IDS.

I cant find a hardware identifier for this device to make it easier.

Here is the search result with them all saying finger print device :

For the last several days I have been receiving the dreaded blue screen on my laptop with the Kernel Data Inpage Error message. It has occured probably once a day for the last 4 days. After it occured the first time I completed a Windows Update of the Service Pack 3. I run the AVG 8.5 Free scan every day as well as check for the updates. For the last three days the history shows that the scan log is corrupted and that the scan has not finished properly. This has happend occasionaly in the past put not repetitively. I tried to run Ad-Aware and partially through it running I received the blue screen. I just tried to google Malware Bytes to download and while it was searching for the site it happened again. I use Windows XP. The technical information I received with the blue screen was as follows:

Stop: 0x0000007A (0xc07B9c10, 0xc0000185, 0xF7382D37, 0x3437A860)

If anyone could please help I would really appreciate it.

I've been getting periodic errors, event ID 41 that states:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Well, I didn't loose power, the system stopped responding, but didn't crash with a BSOD...

The frequency of this error seems random, that hangs the system and then reboots without warning:

The event ID 41 is always proceeded by two event ID 6, information level about the "FilterManager":

There seems to be no rime and reason as to why this event is taking place. I could be just browsing the web with FF/IE, working on some MS Office documents, business programs, etc., and boom, down she goes...

The KB2028504 article points to hardware failure, overheating, overclocking, etc., but... The system runs with default clock settings, neither the CPU, nor the memory overclocked. This system also runs Windows 7 SP1 Professional 64-bits, dual-boot, that has no issues with random reboots, or any other problems for that matter.

Is there a way to disable loading the "FilterManager" for testing purposes?

A:Event ID 41, Kernel-Power error...

What drivers are loaded by the FilterManager before the crash? Are they the same for every crash? Event id 6 may be more useful for troubleshooting than event id 41 that just states that the system crashed and was automatically restarted. www.eventid.net suggests updating all the drivers, firmware, BIOS, etc., resetting the BIOS settings (jut in case), run hardware diagnostics, though if it works fine in Windows 7 is most probably a driver compatibility issue.

I then found references to the MBR program.
I ran it and I got an error - I will attach MBR log

I have ran several different scans on the PC and found nothing.
I have the Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, but have not installed it yet - I am using AVG>
But, I booted the Kaspersky CD and ran it Virus Removal tool. It did not find anything.
I have run TDSSKILLER and it found nothing.
I have ran hijackthis and it did not find anything I could see either.
What could be causing this error and should I be concerned?
I am usually very good at this kind of thing and can eradicate almost every virus/maleware I run into.
This one, if it is one, is causing me problems.
I hope somebody can help.
Thanks.

Hi. I'm using a Windows XP Professional Laptop that is constantly freezing up during the bootup stage.

Here is the message that it keeps giving me (on a blue screen)...

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen then restart your computer. If this screen appears again then follow these steps.

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properlly installed. If this is a new installation ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need
if the problem continues disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as cacheing and shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to disable or remove components then restart your computer and press F8 and select advance options then safe mode.

Technical Information.

I see that Tech Support Guy helped out another person who was also getting a 'blue screen'. But my message looks different to his. Also, pressing F8 doesn't get me into Safe Mode, but there is an option to press F2 for further settings. However, if I go there I have no idea what to do next...

Thanks in advance!

Seamus.

Or is it beyond hope? I am technology challenged, pretty much clueless. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi guys,
I'm not that great at computers, I know the basics and am self taught with computers if it comes to difficulties.
I've got a G62 series HP laptop with windows 7 and have had it for only about 3 months and I've already had the bsod quite a few times. It seems to happen when i watch vids on youtube or iplayers and on fullscreen..I'm thinking it has something to do with the intel HD graphics card, not too sure. It's got the lowest rating on the system performance.
When watching some vids, i can tell when its going to crash; it stutters and makes a retriggering noise, and the blue screen appears, it says 'kernel_data_inpage_error' and i think it's stop 0x0000007A. it makes a loud retriggering noise whilst on the screen then goes to a black screen with the HP logo on. I have to manually restart it when it does this. The blue screen lasts only a few seconds so i cannot write it down but it pretty much says this:
a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

kernel_data_inpage_error

if this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your
computer. if this screen appears again, follow these steps:

check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
if this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufactuers
for any window updates you might need.

if problems continue disable or remove any newly installed hardware or

So here is my story I decided I decided to update from windows 7 to windows 8.1 however now I often get the blue screen of death with the warning of kernel_data_inpage_error. I already tried doing a fresh of instal of windows several times and that didn't help at all, usually keeps the windows stable for about a week or two at max. I have already done a hard drive check up so i know it isn't the hard drive. So you might think the next logical thing to check is either the ram or mother board however I don't think it's a hardware fault because the error usually happens when I am watching flash content or when flash ads appear. Mostly happens when watching stuff on YouTube and twitch, usually sometimes the computer starts lagging or even becomes unresponsive for a few minutes. Funny thing if I play games on it and push it to the max I don't get any errors at all.

Any advice?
