flash stopped playing in all browsers

Q: flash stopped playing in all browsers

The title pretty much says it all - except it seems to only happen when I'm on Instagram. I've upgraded to the latest version of flash. Could it be video card related? I have other display issues with this computer.

Edit: it's not just Instagram, it's also Vine. I don't spend much time on social feeds, so it's challenging to track which sites seem to be most affected by this problem, which only manifested within the last month. I thought it might be a bad flash update, but as noted, I've got the most current version.

Hello guys. So here is my issue i dont really know how to specific it further then this still hope it will help.

I have been getting BSOD for a while now and it's getting to the point i cant do a single thing on the computer. I did the config for dumps and so on and ended up with this RAR file with all the info i assume. I mostly get the bluescreen when i try to watch anime etc on googlechrome. It never works it's a matter of seconds before the BSOD comes. But when watching it on other browsers like opera it works just fine "mostly" even there it bluescreens from time to time. And then there is when it's most fatal, Playing onlinegames. Whenever I play online games like World of warcraft, League of Legends, Heroes of Neweart etc etc etc i risk getting bluescreens. It differs very much from game to game how often the bluescreens appear and it seems to not be preformance related since sometimes i play constantly for hours when maxing out games and pushing the computer to it's limits when it comes to frames. And still the bluescreen lies in dorment waiting for a more suitable interrupt for me. From the looks of it the bluescreen is related mostly to my operatingsystem more then commponents after i looked at the dumpfiles via "Bluescreenviewer".

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this and i hope you guys can help me with this. also this is my first post so I maybe did this typical "bad thread", Still i hope this will get me atleast closer to... Read more

Both firefox & IE have stopped working properly, there seems to be some connectivity (e.g. accessing my homepage) and at times I can access web sites, but most of the times both browsers just hang.

Also ping is not working and I cannot access my router settings.

I have avg & zonealarm, tried to run adaware but it crashes, while spybot doesn't find anything. I have windows XP.

Here is the log, thanks fr any help as I am getting desperate!

First, the system info:

The machine is a Dell Dimension Desktop, Pentium 4, 1.25 Gig RAM, XP Pro, SP3
He has Norton Systemworks and Internet Security on it.

Now the problem:

The other day his IE stopped connecting. I tried out the other browsers that were installed (AOL Explorer and Safari-got to love friends who just click through software updates without reading!). None worked. Outlook, AIM, Symantec LiveUpdate, and connecting to workgroup computers still worked fine.

Firefox Portable on a USB drive worked fine.
I installed Chrome - fine.
I installed Firefox to the machine and decided to try importing IE settings, just for giggles. It didn't connect. (I'm trying installing it again, and will skip the settings import). Update: without importing IE settings, Firefox installation works fine!

I've gone through every article I can find, rolled back to IE6, disabled Add-Ons, Reinstalled IE7, disabled more add-ons, reset all IE7 settings. Opened IE7 with No Add-Ons and reset IE7 to all defaults. Still nothing.

So, I'm a little confused...is it a registry setting that's been corrupted? A corrupted installation that I just can't get to clear out all the way and reinstall, or a setting or addon in IE7 that won't let itself be disabled?

Can any one help me get IE TOTALLY reinstalled fresh? (or fix this in any other way?)
Thanks!

In case there's a reg setting that just needs to be changed, I'm including a HJT Log.

My internet browsers have stopped working there seems to be an epidemic of this problem going around. Here's what my computer has done and is doing specificly.

First off I use windows vista
I was having problems connecting to EQ2 so under the advice of one of SOE's tech guys I restarted my router, that fixed that problem but then a couple hours later my browser (netscape) stopped working. I had no problem connecting to EQ2 at this time. I asked a friend about the problem and he said I should ipconfig/flushdns and I did, that fixed the problem, but it came back after an hour or so, I tried it again and it didn't fix it. Based on my friends recommendation I got the new IE and installed that to use as a new browser. The problem persists. On a whim I restarted my router again and it fixed the problem for a few hours but then it went back to what it was before. I tested it after I reset the router by randomly browsing youtube for six hours and everything was fine but as soon as I started looking through a gallery site it stopped working.

Now the only thing that fixes the problem is restarting my computer. It seems to only conk out after I've loaded up a bunch of pages like from gallaries, wiki and the like.

Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appriciated, if you need any more info let me know and I'll provide it.

Hello!

So the short version would be that on my desktop I have internet access, but browsers are unable to connect to websites. I am able to ping IPs and addresses from cmd though, which is weird. I use a static IP, but I am positive that my DNS settings are correct as they have been working for a year or better. Double checked them to make sure, and my laptop here has no connection issues. Have already done full anti-virus and anti-malware scans, system was clean. Software updaters are also unable to connect, though I can see packet movement in the Network Adapter properties. Completely at a loss at the moment, any help is appreciated as always.

since installing the latest windows update (approx 7-12 maybe more) days ago, my 3 browsers have stopped connecting to the internet (My internet is connected fine by wifi - skype works fine, it's just firefox/chrome/ie that does not work)

I performed a system restore to before the updates where installed, and ie worked fine - after installing the updates again, IE failed to work again - so i system restored again and turned automatic updates off

Is this a known issue?
It would seem very clear that windows updates have caused this issue, is there a fix?

thank you, please help if you can!

A:windows updates stopped browsers working

Welcome Dave
You are half way there. It was not all the updates, but only one that has caused the problem. If you are happy with the way the the computer works now, set the update to notify. When notified, install one at a time, if it works install the next. In that way we will know which update is the problem. Possibly it does not even have to be installed.

This morning I could surf the Internet just fine. This evening neither IE nor Firefox can find any webpages. My network is working -- all settings look fine, and I can download emails using Thunderbird, so I know it's not the Internet connection. Firewall settings allow both IE and Firefox to access the Internet. Only changes I am aware of since this morning:
- Windows update installed. I tried reversing this by means of a system restore, but that still did not solve the problem.
- Firefox 3.0.1 update installed. Don't know how to reverse this, but that should only affect Firefox's behavior and not IE's....

Any tips as to where else I can look?

Thanks,

Hi,

A few days ago I got some help removing some Malware from a tech on these forums, after going through all the techs steps the computer started running fine again, except the sound on any web browser will not play. If I run iTunes or any other software besides a web browser the sound will work fine!
I've uninstalled and re-installed Flash, cleaned registry and updated drivers and it still wont work. I'm running windows 7 x64. Kevin (the tech) suggested I come here because he is convinced it is not due to Malware. He also said to post the Malware post here for you guys to see the whole process before and after the sound not working:- http://forums.techguy.org/virus-oth...8547-find-quick-results-redirect-problem.html

If someone could kindly help me fix this, it would be greatly appreciated!

I downloaded Flock Web Browser onto my flash drive and then installed it onto my flash drive. When I bookmark a page (or just change settings) it saves it on the bookmark. When I take out my flash drive by ejecting it safely and insert it into another computer, the bookmarks and saved settings are not there. I'm sure it's something to do with saving things to TEMP or something of the sorts.

My question is: How do I get it so that I can move my flash drive with the browser on it to a different computer WITHOUT loosing the bookmarks, saved settings, etc.?

A:I am having a problem with my web browsers on flash drives

I don't have any experience with the Flock web browser itself but I do use portable firefox on a flash drive. My guess would be that you download the standard Flock browser and installed it on your flash drive so most it's it's settings and bookmarks are being saved in your user profile not on the flash drive. Try googling for "Portable Flock" to see if there is a protable version or instructions on how to make Flock portable. Or you can try portable Firefox or portable Opera.

Hello everyone, first time poster here.

Anyways here is my problem: My system will not play any Flash videos. I have tried playing them in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome.

I have had this computer since Christmas and has worked flawlessly up until now.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled all the browsers and the various Flash updates and software. Still nothing.

Is this a problem with my computer, browsers or the Flash software?

Thank everyone in advance, I'll do my best to clarify anything.

They are working to make 64-bit version of Flash player but they are really slow

If you go to

and scroll to the very bottom, on the right bottom is a small flash file, but it won't display in IE 6 or 7...tried many things, view source code to see the flash detection js...

So the flash file works great on all other recent browsers, Opera/Netscape/Safari/FF.

Currently on IE 6/7 it just appears as a dot...so I zoomed in and I can see it as I zoom in many times, seems it's not in a properly framed window or something...have a look...would love a fix???

Thanks much

Sound is out on the flash videos AND windows start up sounds. Sounds works fine on netflix, songbird, etc.

For starters: Windows Vista 32bit

What I've done:
1. Uninstalled and reinstalled adobe flash
2. trolled the internet looking for solutions. I've tried msot of them, which include deleting temporary files and changing adobe flash settings and quick time settings.

I'm pulling my hair out over this one.

Lately I have experienced stuttering when playing Flash applications on all browsers. The computer used to play these applications without any problem at all, but over the last couple of weeks there has been stuttering. I mainly use Chrome, but the issue occurs on Firefox and Opera too. I have tried uninstalling Flash and reinstalling it. I have tried deleting cookies and temporary files.

I have noticed the stuttering mainly occurs when I am using the computer at the same time, as in the video or audio application is on another window while I am browsing in another window. If I keep the Flash application open, and I am using the window or it's in the background, everything seems to work fine; it's just when I switch to another window and start browsing that the issues occur. I have also noticed the issue remains focused on this computer, as my Windows XP computer can run the same Flash audio applications without any problem at all.

I have 2 gigabytes of memory, so that shouldn't be an issue. I am also using Windows 7 Professional. I can provide further specs if needed.

A:Flash applications stutter on all browsers

The fix to this issue is downgrading Flash. Apparently there is an issue with Flash's newer versions and stuttering. It's a relief to be able to listen to audio and surf the web simultaneously again.

I'm sure I'm not the only TSG member with multiple web browsers installed, so I'm curious as to how others install Flash updates. I first tried to update Flash in Firefox, and the install failed. No details as to why. It just displayed "Error" in the Adobe Download Manager window. I restart Firefox and discovered Flash had been completely removed. Then I was able to install the latest version.

Then I opened IE and tried to update Flash, and it simply will not update. I don't get an error. The download and install process completes, and then I get the message that Flash is successfully installed, but it's still the same old version.

I had these same problems the last time I tried to update Flash. I ended up having to remove it through Programs and Features (Win 7), and then when I installed it in one or the other browser, both were updated. And I had the same problem on two different Windows 7 computers, so it's not just an issue with one install.

How do others update Flash on multiple browsers?

I'm not sure what the problem is anymore, it might be the new version of flash because it started happening with flash 11.5, but i don't know anymore. (Might also be catalyst 12.10)

The bsods started some weeks ago and i had Opera browser, I decided to format the PC and I installed Avant browser on this one. There were no bsods 3 days after formatting so i thought all was well, until today i got 2 bsods, one happened when i was watching a video fullscreen with flash in Avant browser, the other one happened after it restarted because of the bsod. It lasted for like 10 minutes and it randomly bsoded again while using Avant browser, wasn't viewing videos, but i had flash opened in some tabs without the videos loading.

Please help, and thanks in advanced.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Quote:
The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes. *Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot. *If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot. *If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.

I've been running a myriad of anti-malware products on my HP/CompaQ CQ2014 with custom 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, AMD E-300 Radeon 1.30GHz, 3.0GB RAM, 500GB HDD, and the (dinosaur) Juno offline e-mail app (a form of which I've been using since the late 90s)

A click-jacker with a crap-load of adservers on their side managed to pollute all of the browsers I have here (IE, FF and Chrome), plus the intrinsic IE8 or 9 inside the Juno app. I knew something was amiss when either the mouse pointer wouldn't change to a pointing hand or, in Juno's case, a mouseover on articles on their 'start' page didn't change color.

I've managed to extricate the CJ from everything except Juno, between the anti-malwares such as SAS and Malwarebytes (as I speak MSERT is giving the whole C drive the once-over), and plugging whatever URLs I spot for the CJ's results into restricted sites under internet options. The Juno issue persists, but only for brief periods starting and stopping. I can only guess that some extraneous file in the Juno folder apart from the program itself must contain the culprit's data, and have to wait to see if MSERT catches it and possibly have to reinstall Juno.

Anything else I need to do, during or after MSERT has finished?

A couple days ago Google Chrome kept redirecting pages to random ads. The cause was Yousearch.me.

I unninstalled it from the Control Panel, and unninstalled and reinstalled both Chrome and Firefox, but since then I cannot use either browser normally. Chrome will not open anymore (I only get a white window with no url bar) and Firefox, although opens, often crashes. Whenever I open Firefox, I also get a Malwareabytes warning on the page.

It says that during the last scan, infections that caused system changes were detected. But the thing is, when I last ran Malwareabytes Anti-Malware, it detected nothing. I also ran other anti-virus/anti-spyware suites, and the results were:
AVG - found nothing
Malwareabytes - nothing
Kaspersky's TDSS killer - nothing
Norton Power Eraser - nothing

Ok so I have *no* idea what to do or why this happened. I've been on my computer all afternoon, and I have been browsing the internet, talking on AIM, and making a flyer using GIMP photo software. Later in the day (after 5 pm) I decided I was not using the internet all that much and switched off my wireless on my laptop, and focused on using GIMP. (I do this all the time - turn off wiFi but turn it on when I want to use a program. It's ALWAYS fine and i have done it many times today alone). I turned it back on to look some things up for my mom about beef jerky, then kept it on but didnt sign in to IM or anything. At some point, I decided I'd go back on AIM.

However, it wouldnt connect (Connection Failed). Thinking this was odd, I went ahead and clicked "Auto Configure", which usually fixes an intermittent problem - it didnt! Soon I realized that Windows Update can't access the internet, my e-mail wont access the internet, and AIM and MSN messengers cant get on the internet. There was NO CHANGE AT ALL during this whole day, and my browsers (firefox and IE both) are fine. I'm quite annoyed. I restarted computer three times because this seemed like one of those restart-and-itll-be-fixed random problems, but its not apparently.

This is ridiculous, and I would REALLY REALLY appreciate any thoughts. My firewall shows no unusual activity (esp. no blocking of these programs) and I don't have a virus or spyware... this is very random.
Thanks.

Hi.. I hope this is the right place to post this. I assume that Windows is somehow causing my problem - I'm running 7 Home Premium 32bit.

Let me see if I can explain this properly:

Sometimes, when one or both of my browsers are open (I use Firefox and Chrome, Firefox being my standard browser), I can't play sound on my computer.. For example:
If one of my browsers are open, and I start a video file, the video starts, but without the sound. I use VLC for movies. VLC can't be the problem, though, cause it's the same thing with Winamp, when I try to play music files - It seems like they're playing, and the equalizer works etc., but no sound. When I close my browser(s), though, the sound works again If I open one or both of my browsers while playing sound, it still works..
But sometimes this problem just occurs..
Also, sometimes, I don't get any sound from Youtube or Grooveshark until I restart my computer..

This is really wierd, and I hope you guys can help me!

Thanks!

Does the same occur under IE8 ?

Make sure all Windows Updates are installed - www.update.microsoft.com

Update your audio drivers - go to audio device manufacturer's support site.

After trying out Chrome OS in VirtualBox, well, i didn't managed to try it at all, VirtualBox hanged and i did a force shutdown.

As a result, i've seemed to have lost the ability to play any sound from anywhere and flash videos played horribly jerky.

Before:Here

After(first 25 seconds):

When using Camtasia Recorder to record the problem with the video playback this error popup-ed, hope it would provide some lead.

Things i've tried
Ran command prompt in admin rights to with command "sfc /scannow"
Ran an error-disk check
P.S. I'm not sure if the comparison above worked since for me both videos are playing really bad.

Also, attempt to restore to prior the installation failed.

Hello aattwwss and welcome to the Forum. Have you checked your Event Log as suggested by the warning? To access, click Start > type EVENT in the "search programs and files" box. You should now see several choices directly above. Click on View Event Logs under Control Panel > click Applications and Services Logs. You should now see something similar to this:

Attachment 122393

If events (problems) were detected you'll see something other than 0. Double click the affected item for more details. If no events were recorded you might want to try the suggestion in this Microsoft support forum under "B). System Restore Issue."

Hello, before I start describing my problem, I'll give you guys my system specs.

I am running Flash Player version 16.0.0.257 on a Windows 8.1 DELL XPS 12, using multiple browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE). All three browser have the same problem.

Since Thursday only certain Flash Actions will load, while most just keeping on stating they are trying to establish a connection. Many streams and radio stations will no longer load for me, which they have in the past.

I have already re-installed Flash, the browsers and made sure to delete the cache and all cookies.

All drivers are installed.

The odd thing is, and reason for posting this on the 8-Forums is, that I have no problems using Flash on ubuntu in my Oracle VirtualBox.

I am thankful for any help that you can provide.

Fresh Windows Install on a 5 year old custom build. Previously never had this problem. If a site has flash this is what it looks like:

Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

Even after uploading these pictures to imgur I got a notification that flash had crashed.

I'm even having this problem on THIS site, luckily I'm able to post this though. http://i.imgur.com/xphpuCG.png

Running NoScript in Firefox fixes this problem.

I'm not discounting the possibility of a video card issue because I was having some problems earlier with installation, I've since got my Radeon HD 5770 working but this problem persists.

I have tried multiple reinstalls, different browsers, turning off adblock, safemode, turning off hardware acceleration. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

Baisicaly I am making a project in Macromedia Flash and I have noticed that some computers not only do not have the Adobe Flash player installed on their hard drive, when I try to install it, the files are simply not made in program files nor can I 'Open with...' Flash player from my USB stick.

On the other hand, I can use any Flash products including YT in the browsers with no problems!

The strangest part is, at school where I am making this project and on my computer (Windows 7 and Vista respectively) there are no problems. However, at work and other home computers I tested it on around 10 different computers and the same issue occurs! It happens with Windows 7, Vista and XP, also it is not a virus. Is this a change that has been made?

Please help, I tried Googling this issue however it looks like amateur Flash product makers are a very small niche and I cannot find any info on this.

I'm guessing the plug-in to the browsers is the standard nowadays but how do I make sure people can open my physcial .swf file not from a browser?

Thanks

A:Can't play .swf files but Flash works in browsers

Adobe flash player plugin only works with the browser is not a player outside that. If you wanna play the files you can do 3 things. 1 if you have the flash program to create flash files you can see it there, you can download a program/codec to open swf files with the media player of your preference or you can create a dummy html page embed the file you wanna watch and open that page with the browser of your preference.

My other computer has got the XP Antivirus 2012 virus. It won't let me use Firefox or Explorer. I tried running them as administrator, but that didn't work. Maybe because there is no administrator account on that machine. I have downloaded FixNCR.reg and put it in on a flash drive, but the other computer doesn't react when I plug in the drive. I also tried putting it on a CD but the infected computer won't read that either.

The computer is running Windows XP. It has the free ZoneAlarm firewall, and did have Avira anti-virus,though that seems to have disappeared. There is a version of Malwarebytes on it, but that won't run at the moment. I don't think it has restore points or anything like that.

Hello there,
I have no sound on flash player over the browsers. The sound works perfectly fine when I am playing any movies or mp3 with any players such as real player, Windows media player, VLC, core player and so on. I had the latest version of flash player which was working just fine in all browsers before.

I was doing some housekeeping on my laptop and I might have deleted some registries or something by mistake, not 100% sure though.

same day I noticed I had problem hearing youtube while the video part is playing just fine and the microphone settings of the flash player is showing activities.

I tries tons of things such as uninstalling - reinstalling different versions of flash players. uninstalling -reinstalling codec packs, adding things to the registry which comes with different names like youtubefix.reg or missing.reg, trying different browsers, and unfortunately so far none of them worked for me.

One thing weird I have noticed (and I'd like someone explain it to me) is that as soon as I activated the guest user on my laptop and I logged in as the guest user, I was able to hear voice over the flash. I am assuming that there is nothing wrong with the flash player. So I thought maybe I should just create another user account and transfer my file and documents to that user account. I got back to work and I did created a new USER as an admin and logged in to try it before transferring my folders and documents. Here is the freaky part, there was no voice agian via t... Read more

A:no sound on flash player (on youtube) using any browsers

Look at point 5 below which might fall in with different accounts working. I tried for 2 months and it was as simple as the permissions on the that registry key. Disable UAC and make sure your working on this with an account with administrator level.

Check if the file msacm32.drv is present in your Windows system32 folder. If not, copy it from another PC (that has the same version of Windows) and place the file in the system32 folder. This applies to Vista and 7 64Bit but in the SysWOW64 directory which is the folder for the 32 bit programs running on the 32bit virtual machine.

A very common sound problem is an incorrect or missing registry key for msacm32.drv discussed in the preceding.

Launch Registry Editor by typing regedit at Run command.
2. Navigate to the following registry key:

For XP and Vista 32Bit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

3. On the right pane, and check for existence of “wavemapper” registry subkey, the mail culprit
causing Flash no sound. If not found, create a new String value named “wavemapper”, and give the
entry value “msacm32.drv”. If wavemapper entry is already existed, ensure that its value data
is“msacm32.drv”.

For XP and Vista and 7 64bit:

I have been having a problem where playing flash video has crashed all the browsers I have installed. This issue has happened on multiple websites including Youtube and BBC iPlayer. It started happening out of the blue on 25th May 2011. There doesn't appear to be any microsoft updates added at that time and I did not install any new software on that day.

In Firefox the issue happens 100% of the time. After watching for a few minutes the video starts to buffer and then the browser completely freezes up before the frame greys out and the option to send crash report appears. When I reload the page the same thing happens again. Sometimes the audio will start to repeat itself with a delay of a few seconds before crashing.

In Chrome, the same thing happens except the built in plug in becomes unresponsive and the browser then freezes and reports the error.

IE crashes too although I hardly ever use it to be honest.

The things I have tried to fix this so far (without success) have been:

Manually uninstall all Adobe products
Uninstall all browsers

A:Flash video crashes on multiple browsers

I have had this problem of videos crashing my browser for weeks. It started in IE9, so I got Firefox, then that crashed too, so I got Chrome, and that crashed too. I also noticed that if I downloaded Flash videos, and played them locally, they crashed the viewer too. The Adobe forums lead me to believe that maybe I needed to update my video driver, so I did that; but videos still crashed whatever ran them. I noticed that sometimes my sound would stop working before the video crashed, and sometimes I heard loud clicks while the video played, and I couldn?t launch the soundcard interface; so I wondered if the sound card was the problem. Today I re-installed my sound card driver, and the problem went away! These problems are not all straightforward, Windows machines can be difficult to trouble shoot, and not a every problem has an readily apparent cause.

Hello Everyone,

I have been in IT for 10+ years and have done desktop/server support, programming, DBA, etc. I have come across an issue on my personal laptop that has stumped me. This started recently in the past month. It was around the time, I did a few windows updates and a FF update. So I have been unable to pinpoint what caused it.

My Problem -

All of my browsers started to freeze upon loading a new page (even non flash webpages, ie google.com) They would freeze for 5-10 minutes. I noticed if I disabled the flash plugin in FF, then FF acted normally. I uninstalled the flash activex module, and IE started to work properly again as well. I did a lot of testing by removing flash and all of my adobe components (CS4) and acrobat. Anything flash related I removed completely, I then used a tool provided by adobe to remove any leftover remnants of adobe (registry entries, folders, etc). I tried many different versions of FF, Opera, Safari and Chrome and many different versions of the flash player (9-current). They all acted the same with flash installed, if I uninstalled flash, all the browsers worked perfectly fine.

I finally gave in and reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7 32bit. I am running into the same issues again.

I was originally running Windows 7 x64, but am now at Windows 7 32bit.
Some things to note, my work laptop is Windows 7, and it works perfectly fine, as does my wife's personal and work laptops.

If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them... Read more

A:All browsers freeze with flash enabled/installed.

The only thing I can think of here - and you probably already checked for this - is that the Flash plugin somehow doesn't play well with GPU acceleration for video playback enabled. If you disable it, the problem persists?

Are you trying to play the flash videos offline from within the browsers? How do you go about trying to do that? Are you using some kind of HTML indexer software? Why not play the *.flv files directly with the default media player on your PC?

I'm using Windows Vista Business on my notebook.
Yesterday all browsers (IE7, Firefox) stopped working. I did nothing. I didn't install or uninstall any software, didn't change any settings (but may be windows installed some updates).

When I'm trying to access any website via HTTP (HTTPS works!) a browser resolves host name properly, connects to the server and is waiting for response. That's all I get. Network sniffer says that my computer sends and receives EMPTY http-packets (there are only IP and TCP headers and no data there!)

Other network software is working well even when it is using http protocol (ICQ, jabber, weather widget, torrent) .

I've already tried to:
1. Disable windows firewall / windows defender
2. Disable add-ons in IE
3. Uninstall anti-virus software
4. Roll my system back (with system restore)
5. Connect to the internet in a different way (via 3G)
6. Disable all features in connection properties but "network client and TCP/IP v4 protocol)
7. Rewrite network routes on my computer
8. Connect to a webserver via telnet utility and communicate with it emulating http-client (that worked)
9. Reset network connection.
Nothing helped.

Can you advise something?
I suppose the issue is connected with incapsulation of http protocol by the web-browsers (do IE and firefox use the same HTTP-client component? Is there any way to reinstall it?)

Thank you.

P.S I Also tried a reformatt a few weeks ago, and it didnt solve the problem :/

A:Urgent : System uses 50% or more when playing Videos, Flash Videos, Flash Games etc

Firstly, I would think it is fine that your CPU usage goes to 50% when playing videos... it has to use some CPU power to do this. Now the lagging is another story. First off I would make sure that everything is being properly cooled. If you have not done so in a while, clean out the inside of the PC, blowing off any dust from the heatsink, graphics card, power supply etc. Also what sort of power supply do you have? I want to confirm it's adequate for the system. That brings up the question, when did this start happening and was anything hardware changed around that time?

I'm running Windows XP and trying to get Shockwave to run on any browser.

Downloaded install file from macromedia. After install, it said I needed to restart.

Macromedia site says you don't need to restart computer and this is a problem with XP. Search for extra installs of dirapi.dll and iml32.dll, but I don't have any. Then it says to uninstall (I used both their uninstaller and the Add/Remove programs) and install from full standalone install. I did that.

I get no errors on install, but it immediately says I need to restart. I pick "Later" and it goes to the macromedia site to finish installation. The standalone install will ask me my age, but I don't get the second about trusting content; the install just stops.

Shockwave player never worked (Flash does on all browsers). I get only a blank screen; no errors, just nothing on any site including macromedia's test pages.

I even tried a full shutdown and then boot up, going to the macromedia site to finish installation. Doesn't work. I also turned off the popup/ad blocker in case this was interfering.

I've tried this whole sequence multiple times and different profiles.

Problem is still occuring on ALL browsers - and I made sure I have the latest versions of them: IE 6, Firefox 1.0.4, Netscape 8.

What do I do? I appreciate any help!

Hello and welcome to 7F .

What I'm seeing is the graphics adapter failing to "wake up" from an idle state over several driver
version, your laptop features nVidia's Optimus technology which is designed to conserve power
by switching between the integrated graphics and the more powerful (and power hungry GPU chip)
and that is what the OS is failing to do.

Other Verifier enabled dumps show a couple of drivers at fault, one of which is known
to be BSOD inducing with the 2009 version which you're using, but those are not
the more pressing matter.

I'm pretty sure you can't disable the optimus feature but I'll ask other members for more assistance
on this subject in case there is something I'm unaware of .

I have this problem for a while, The Flash player doesn't work in my Firefox browser. It works great in Chrome and IE.

When I log on a site that has flash, the mouse cursor gets really heavy and the flash video is very laggy and slow.

It's not the case on YouTube or any other Video site I try. However if I go to : http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

the flash animation on the top of the page is laggy and slow.

I had recently found out that this is also the case with another application I use: CakePoker (http://cakepoker.com/en/Default.aspx).

It's makes it impossible to play.

I've been trying to fix it for a while, uninstalled and reinstalled several times, with no success.

Hello everyone

im having an issue which i cant solve for quite some time,

my laptop will crash every now and then and it usually happened more than 3 times per day.
it is not an overheating issue as i had replace the thermal paste and clean the fans as well as the air duct, both fans are working properly.

i have tested my RAM using memtest86, however no errors were shown after 5-6 hours which i managed to pass 5-6 passes.

i noticed my laptop will crash whenever i watched a video (VLC with MKV or MP4 format) or i opened browsers(firefox and chrome) for quite some time. i noticed when my laptop crashed, usually i have a tab or currently playing youtube videos
my laptop is RARELY crash when i played games such as DOTA2 or Diablo3, it happened every now and then, but the ratio of my laptop crashing while playing games compared to watching video or steeaming youtube can be 1:10

there is no dump file created as it is not BSOD, my laptop just crashed and didnt restart, i need to boot it up manually as if someone just unplugged my cable from the wall.

i'm willing to do any test suggested, currently im doing Prime95 CPU Stress Test, but still no errors after 2 hours, im planning to keep it stressed until 6 hours or more.

please help me in this matter, thanks!

But after a short while, pages open slowly, they lag, halfway open, or they just won't open at all (blank white screen and hour glass just hang). If I close Explorer altogether, when I reopen it works okay again for several pages, then goes back to its habit of lagging and not opening.

ALSO, and I believe this problem is related. I cannot play most (but not all) flash files. I can play some or most embedded flash files, but I cannot play any files on YouTube, for instance.

I have done dozens of things to troubleshoot these issues. I have altered Explorer settings, searched for rootkits with many programs (have found some, by the way, and eliminated them (I think). I have posted Hijack This files (am willing to do this once again), and had various diagnoses.

But the problem(s) persist. Browsing is a pain. Some sites will not open at all! And flash will not play, or only sporadically.

I am posting these problems once more in hopes that someone might have a clue as to what to do. I hesitate to reinstall Explorer 6, since the problem is also in Firefox. And I sure don't want to reinstall Windows--though it is looking like this might have to happen.

I use a Netgear wireless router (WGR614NA). I wonder if a setting on this might have somethi... Read more

Facebook has joined a number of big web presences that are moving away from Flash, announcing on Friday that it’s switched to HTML5 for all its web videos.
That includes videos on News Feed, Pages and in its embedded video player.

i am using a metered internet connection and hence i want to conserve bandwidth wherever and as much as possible. my questions are:1. i know that, enabling click-to-play-plugin in firefox and chrome prevents playing of flash videos as and when needed. does it stop buffering of flash videos as and when needed?2. how can i enable click-to-play-plugin in other browsers?3. how can i enable click-to-play for HTML5 videos so as to stop their buffering AS WELL AS playing as and when needed.4. i use this addon for firefox:https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-flash-video-playerto force youtube to render videos in flash format, so that i can use the click-to-play-plugin functionality to block their buffering as well as playing as and when needed.5. facebook recently switched its videos' format from 'adobe flash' to 'HTML5'. it offers a setting in settings -> videos -> turn autoplay off. but this setting just disables automatic playing of 'HTML5' videos and not their auto-buffering. this wastes my bandwidth. how can i overcome this?on this note, i would like to share my view on 'HTML5' videos. everyone say that it is superior to 'adobe flash' technology because no plugin is required to play 'HTML5' videos and hence no vulnerabilities are involved. but why did the W3C design 'HTML5' videos without the ability to stop the auto-buffering and auto-playing of them. this is such a serious nuisance that remains unsolved. in this aspect 'adobe flash' is better.

A:stop BUFFERING of FLASH and HTML5 videos in all browsers

You're fighting a losing battle because Flash is pretty much obsolete at this point. Soon you won't be able to use it at all. I can't comment on your problem because my usage limit is high enough already so there's no problem. All ISPs have tiered levels these days so you have to find the right level for you.

Dell Latitude C610, Windows XP, CPU 1 GhZ.

I watch a lot of live-streamed events, or I used to, but this computer can't hack it anymore. Actually, I say "the computer" can't, but it actually seems to be a problem with Flash.

Everything livestreamed using flash player runs in slow motion, and then lurches/jerks ahead to where it's present, and then does the slow-motion/lurch-ahead thing ad nauseum.

I have the same problem with about half of the videos from youtube/other video sites as well. When I pause them, it takes a few seconds to sort of "catch up" and then finally pause.

I got around this problem for awhile by strictly using an old version of Flash, but eventually I got a message on just about every site saying, "You are using an older version of Flash, please update," and not playing the live event or video.

I took my problems to the official Flash forum, where a user (not an Adobe rep) suggested I try an older Flash version again, but it won't install...I get an Adobe Message basically saying, "this isn't the current version, please use the current one."

Adobe also suggested testing an HTML5 and Non-HTML5 video to help pinpoint the problem (if both don't play right, they say, the problem is not with Flash but with your computer). I tried their HTML5 video. Same problem. Non-HTML5 video played perfectly. They gave no insight on what to do with this diagnosis.

Another tip I read that worked for ... Read more

Issue:
Two weeks ago when I tried to install VLC, internet access (via IE, Chrome and FireFox) for all of my accounts (except admin account) stopped working. Please note, VLC never got successfully installed (I cannot find it on my computer). All browsers from my admin account continue to work. Windows is not able to detect any issues with LAN connectivity (in fact I see the byte count constantly changing).

My setup:
1) I am running windows 7
2)I do not have access to windows install disc or boot CD.
3) I do not have any valid backups or restore points
4) My LAN connection is wired (not wireless).
5) I have uninstalled IE and now have Chrome and FireFox (both of which also do not work on these accounts).
6) I have Norton 360 firewall and AutoProtect always turned on.

So far I have done the following:
1) If I switch the account type of other accounts to administrator - they still don't work.
2) If I create a new account (admin or Std) browsers still don't work.
3) Ran through malwarebytes and adware. I have Norton 360 installed
4) I disabled Norton firewall and Autoprotect, browsers still don't work.
5) With Old Rich's help on the Networking forum, we diagnosed that there is nothing wrong with accessing the network from the accounts on which Browsers don't work (see "Re: Administrator can get on the internet, but other users can't" on networking forum). I like to play online games and I've tried experimenting with some different browsers lately as. It appears to me that Flash Player runs slower on Firefox and Opera than it does in IE 7. I didn't think something like this would be a system problem. Does anyone have an explanation for this? The online gaming site where this was very apparent was www.ugoplayer.com/games/. (This website is has only games that use Adobe Flash.) Thanks!

A:Adobe Flash Player Running Slower Non-Microsoft Browsers?

I can't provide an explanation but I can offer a guess!

The flash version for IE is specifically for Active X and it is possible that the site you mention (and/or the games on it) are also set up for compatability with IE, so they may not run as well via a browser that doesn't use Active X.

Ok i'm having the same problem as lots of other people.

I go to bbc.co.uk/iplayer, i click on something i want to watch I get there and the page appears but with no pre-video image or play button.

I have just down graded from windows 7 64bit to windows 7 32bit as I thought this may have been the problem, due to flash 64bit problems. So I have a fresh install of windows 7.

I have tried quite a few things, please see the list below:

1. Both firefox, chrome, ie 9 & ie 10. All with no flash or java installed, i know this is not right, but something interesting happened. The website did exactly the same thing as before, there was nothing telling me on the bbc website that flash was needed and go here to download it.

2. Installed different versions of flash and java, and in combinations of old & old, old & new, new & old, new & new.

3. I have tried older versions of browers, this made no difference.

4. My wifes computer does the same thing with firefox and chrome, but ie 9 does work correctly. we copied all settings from internet options, ie 9's settings from her's to mine. Still nothing.

5. I have tried clearing cashe, nothing changed.

6. I have removed flash and java. then just installed Google Chrome, as this has flash built in. I then tried bbc iplayer and still nothing. I then install java, again nothing.

7. There have been other website as well as bbc iplayer, that are not working.

I had some malware problems which I fixed but now windows media player won't play mp3s and gives an error message about a missing codec. I've installed the missing codec and it didn't fix the problem. Additionally no mp3s will play on any internet sights in both IE and Firefox. I've reinstalled media player but that didn't help either( I didn't uninstall and reinstall though). That may be the problem. Not sure.
You could also try running sfc /scannow from the command prompt to check for inconsistencies with Windows files.

Hi,

As a new Linuz user, on Fedora Core 6, I wanted to keep Firefox as my browser, having gotten used to it while using XP Pro. I have gotten all my updates for Linux, Firefox, and Flash Player, and was using AdBlock (since removed). Everything worked fine until last night, well, I sometimes had to restart because the flash sound stopped but video worked..

Now, on any flash site, all I get is a bfief smattering of colored bits for a millisecond or so, then a grey box.. I reinstalled Flash 9, and anything else I could think of, restarted, powered off, and spun around 3 times while holding a picture of Bill Gates. Nothing, still a grey square... After A visit to this site, I remove adblock, thinking it may be the cause.. no joy..

Any ideas? :)

Hi, newbie here from way across the waters to the Caribbean.
I am operating a Dell Inspiron 17R running Win 8.1
In this unit I have been using a Kingston DTI / 2GB Flash Drive.
Do not get annoyed ok..I'm a newbie allow me one indiscretion. The Flash is more than 7 yrs old and I don't know how to back up.
It is no longer showing in my computer. When inserted it "dings" and the light flashes about eight times then ...nothing.This only happened on Sun 20th Sept last The drive itself is Bit Locked. It also gets hot to touch.
In disk management the device is seen but the "change drive letter" is grayed out and "eject" is grayed out
I have already accepted the high probability that its a hardware problem and quite possibly the flash has come to its...end of life.
However I have viewed 2 vids so far where folk were able to physically repair the flash to get access and remove the files.
I am desperate and looking for hope here. Is there any thing that can be done to recover my files ( 3 yrs of my agricultural venture) plus others.

Hey guys. Recently, flash has stopped working properly on the laptop. I tried reinstalling firefox and the plug-in itself. I can tell there's still something there, because firefox doesn't give me a message saying I need flash, plus, the little Adblock tabs still appear as they should. As part of the uninstall, I deleted all flash files/folders I could find and installed it again from scratch, but no luck.

I'm going to move this slightly to the Mozilla/Firefox area, where it might have a better chance of being addressed properly. For now, I must ask, have you made any changes to Firefox? Altered any preferences? Inadvertently downloaded or installed any possible Spyware, or Anti-spyware ( a word of caution, some of that is really Spyware too! yeah, it's a shame.) And are you sure what you're trying to play is really a .swf application?

So I REALLY need flash player to work and it is not. As far as I can tell it just stopped working, all flash sites/videos show up as a white box. I've unistalled it about 5 times and tried re-installing it every time after I un-installed, still no luck with it actually working, even though it's listed as a program under Control Panel ---> Programs ---> Programs and Features. The Adobe flash player items that are listed under there are:

Adobe Flash Player ActiveX
Adobe Flash Player Plugin

I'm downloading from Adobe's Download Center, when I get to the page after you click install on the prompt to install the verification video is white, and the page never actually finishes loading. I'm running vista ultimate 64 bit in internet explorer. I've followed Adobes Flash Support page thouroghly and it still won't work. I can also not contact them due to me not have a registered product of theirs. If any other information, what else would you need for this to go as smoothly as possible?

Thanks,

I have a new PC, the ones i used to burn off my old one would play on any DVD player I had. But when i burn using my New PC it will only play on a computer, I tried it on my friends xbox 360 and it played.
So i was thinking my TV-DVD player is the problem, but then it still plays the old things that i've burned.
I use convertxtodvd to burn the mkv files i have on my computer, I use Nero Recode 2 to copy existing DVD's into copy's.
They all work on the xbox and my PC.

It's not that i desperately need my TV-DVD player to play these things, but if i'm building a DVD collection, i want to know it will play on any DVD player that supports copies. Otherwise I end up with half a collection that will will only play on certain devices and not others that are supposed to support copies.

Thanks.

Problem: flash & shockwave players stopped working. Invisible link on page--if clicked on takes you to segon.com/boomer/video/purchase & then segon.com. Segon indicates that the problem has to do with some vulnerability of the MSN installation. Removing MSN from the systems eliminates the problem. Its a Key Logger. (Keystroke Logger). A program that runs in the background, recording all the keystrokes. It has been created using the trial version of Boomer Video (one of our products), any SWF file created with the trial version of Boomer Video always points to our site when you click the SWF.At this point we know that it runs in the background, recording all the keystrokes. Once keystrokes are logged, they are hidden in the windows directory for later retrieval.
Using SpyBot, PestPatrol and RegEdit some experienced users finally removed the virus. The origin of this virus is from OytaNet.com Productions, but it seems that these latest attacks have been done with a new version of the virus. Best Regards, Segon

Hey guys. I have a problem. Yesterday, I was using SumatraPDF on my Sandisk 1GB Cruzer Micro flash drive to view a document on another flash drive. The document didn't open, so I closed SumatraPDF. Next thing you know, Windows XP reports a "Delayed Write Error" faliure noticed. I ignored it, thinking that maybe the computer was just being screwy. A couple of hours later, I wanted to use my Sandisk Flash drive. I tried to open some files on it, and they wouldn't open. Puzzled, I went to Windows Explorer to try to open the root of the flash drive, and it says "(drive letter of flash drive) is not accesible. Incorrect function". Long story short, after many hours of trying to remedy the problem, I found out after plugging it into a computer that runs Windows ME that the flash drive is still readable...just not writeable. I can't format it to try to remedy the problem, and I fear that I may have to get a new one (I've had it for over a year now, plus I used Portable Firefox/VLC Media player on it...). Is there a Sandisk utility that can force a format on this media or possible make it writeable? If not, is there a way to make it readable on Windows XP? Also, do you know of a place where it's possible to get a good 1GB flash drive at 30$ or less if I have to replace it?

I have had an EZ Flash drive (memory stick) for just over a year which has suddenly stopped working. Normally, my computer sees it as soon as I plug it into the USB, but now it doesn't.
For a while I did get the computer to acknowledge that it was there as a removable drive, but it couldn't detect anything on it.
I've tried re-installing it using the installation disk, but to no avail.
Could it have become totally de-activated or wiped?
Even if all the files on it have been wioed, I can't see why it can't be detected.
I've checked the USB ports in Control Panel and they're all OK.

Since I'm using Windows XP the newest version won't work, so I had to download an older version. I'm not sure what version I had before I messed it up, I think it was 7.3.0. I opened up audacity and as it was loading, all my sound that was playing cut out. I system restored my laptop and it was fixed, and thought it crashing with audacity was just a coincedence, so I reopened audacity. The sound stopped working again. I uninstalled audacity, that didn't work, so system restored it again but this time that didn't work either. I tried an even earlier date but it still didn't work.

Help please?
Thanks x

p.s. i'm not really technical so I apoligize in advance, ty.

What's the model of your laptop? (It's usually on a sticker on the bottom side, something like "Dell Dimension L6203")

Hello
I am new here & need help with this one. A couple of days ago the sound in my pc failed. It was working fine before that. I tried the usual, installing the sound driver again but it did not work.

Now I can see the driver icon in the system tray & occasionally the volume control icon as well but when I click it, a message is displayed that there are no active mixers available. Also I use AIMP2 as my music player & it has been displaying this message "cannot initialize sound engine". My speakers work fine.

I am not sure but I think the problem is with the sound card. Any ideas??? PLEASE HELP .

Btw my sound card is built into the motherboard & the motherboard is about 4-5 yrs old. Here are the specs:

I've got a HP Pavilion DV6707 DVD was working fine when I upgraded it to win 7 then all of a sudden it quit. Looking for a solution I found someone who mentioned they loaded magic ISO, so I loaded the program and DVD worked fine for about a month or so and now I can't get it working. I've removed Magic ISO and reinstalled and no go. I've tried the microsoft mr fixit and no luck and I've also looked in the registry for upper filter fix and I do not see that listed in the reg any suggestions would be great. As if right now I've removed the Magic software and I don't even see a DVD player in device mgr or under computer.

Thanks in advance!

I have a soundblaster live soundcard. Periodically, the sound would stop in the middle of playing. I figured out that the card was loose so screwed the card in and the sound returned. But then stopped again. I tried putting the sound card in a different slot but still no sound. Any suggestions?

Hi there,
After installing SP2 on Win XP Pro my abbility to play music CD has gone. MP3 and webb radio work. With SP1 everything worked perfectly.

Musicmatch hangs totally when playing CD and Mediaplayer continues to respond but after one or two tracks the sounds disappears. When restarting Windows after such a problem I don't hear the normal Windows shutdown "song" but a short "ick"...

Have re-installed Musicmatch a number of times as well as CD-drive and soundcard drevice drivers.

Any idea?

I got the following hw and OS
Quite old Dell XPS T600r with Intel Pentium III, 600MHz and 384MB RAM
CD-ROM-drives:
LG CD-ROM CRD-8480C (as D)
SONY CD-RW CRX140E (as E)
Soundcard Turtle Beach Montego II (with standard Aureal 8830 device drivers since soundcard not supported any longer)

A:Playing CD stopped working after XP SP2 upgrade

You didn't open your case at all did yoU?

I know lots of cd-roms come with a cable that connects to the sound card for direct audio, but if you didn't open your case or move it significantly this shouldn't be your problem.

Try going into your device manager and seeing if the cd-rom is still installed correctly. Perhaps SP2 messed it up (if so reinstall the driver)

Hi All

I was running MP9 and a few days ago it refused to play avi's recorded by my digital camera. It will play avi's fromother sources, DVD's etc but not my camera avi's. It playe dthem perfectly until a few days ago.

Same with PowerDVD. It will play everything, no problem, except for these few avi's.

I downloaded and ran GSpot over the suspect avi's to see if there was a codec problem but they all rendered OK and GSpot said they should play OK with the existing setup. Finally I uninstalled MP9 and installed MP10 but there is no change.

The error message I get on MP is "Unknown Error" with a code. Not surprisingly M'soft don't provide much assistance. I see from this and other forums that MP suddenly refusing to play avi's isn't at all uncommon. Can someone please offer suggestions on how/why and how I go about fixing this.

Thanks very much.

A:Media Player stopped playing some AVI's

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the camera software. A codec may have been installed by that installation. Anything unusual in the right-click properties of those files?

A general-purpose codec that will play most avi's is the DirectShow ffdshow:

I have to admit my guilty pleasure. I was playing Peggle at Popcap games when it stopped and went to a blue screen. The following message popped up.

***Stop 0x000000D1 (0x03021A7E, 00000002, 0X00000001, 0xBFDA8403)
*** ADDRESSBFDA84613 base at BFD6A000, DATESTAMP 3bd87e9c l tmdmnt.sys
Beginning dump of physical memory

It locked up at that point - nothing happening so I did a soft boot, got back on the internet and went straight to you guys. I had to write all this down so I hope that I got it all right.
Please tell me that there is not something wrong with my computer. HELP

Never used one before. Plugged it in, it was recognized and loaded. Started drag-n-dropping, after about 15 .docs it would take any more. "can't make folder" or something like that. Still has about 90% free space. Same type of doc files....don't understand.
Was I supposed to open any of those folders, exe files that came with the flash drive?

Now I'm running chrome through the desktop, and everything works fine, but i really want to access through windows 8 like I allways did....

A:Flash stopped running - Chrome, Windows 8

There have been Flash Player updates just yesterday for IE and plug-in based browsers, and another one today just for Internet Explorer.

Seems to be a known issue for Google Chrome:

All of the sudden Firefox (latest) doesn't play flash videos. I uninstalled Adobe Flash addon and opened up a youtube video, it gives me the "need flash addon" which I downloaded and reinstalled. When I open up firefox and open up a video it doesn't say or display anything and status in lower left is "Done". Uninstalling/Reinstalling Flash and Firefox does nothing. Internet Explorer runs fine without any problems.

OS is Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

I have also cleared all cache files, registry entries, installation folders and downloaded new copies of Firefox and Flash, etc...Nothing changes.

Seems like Firefox fails with a different issue every week or so and I have to restore windows to a restore point from the day before and everything is fine.

Anyone else have problems with Firefox on Vista 64?

I won a Sony Cybershot DSC-S45 at my project graduation [which was May 25, 2006 so I haven't had it too long]. Since I won it there...I don't have ANY receipts. Only the box it came in. That's why my problem is kinda stinky =[

It works perfectly fine until the other day I went to take a picture and noticed, no flash.
I put it on forced flash and NO flash. Every mode-No flash. I took out the batteries for a minute and tried doing what the Sony Support website said [to reset the settings] but still no flash.
I don't know where the camera was bought.
I don't know what to do as in do I need to contact Sony for my warranty info?
I did this sign up thing and put in the date I got it and said I was still under warranty but I would have to provide the receipt [which I obviously can NOT get a hold of]
And without my warranty it would cost $110 to "fix the problem" which isn't even worth it...Id' rather just buy a new one.

It's a nice camera and I really like it and I would love to fix it myself or go somewhere that could possibly fix it.

Any advice?
Thank you!

A:Digital Camera Flash Stopped Working

You have done about everything I could have suggested, the only thing I can suggest is that you email Sony suppoprt and put the problem to them as you have here ...whether or not you hear anything back from them is in the lap of the gods I suppose but its worth a try and it will cost you nothing to ask ...
