HP Mini 110 Missing drivers (Network and Video)

Q: HP Mini 110 Missing drivers (Network and Video)

Hello, I have a problem with an HP Mini 110 wich i have just reformarted with windows 7, the problems with the drivers where actually manifestating before, I thought that with the formating and the windows 7 instalation would be solved. In the hardware devices list i can see that the network controller, the video controller and the ethernet controller are missing, i tried to install the drivers given at the official website but none of them worked. Please help, i can't connect the computer to the internet! I think that wifi card or internet card, whatever name has, has no drivers installed or they just "dissapeared".

I did a windows 7 clean install on my HP Mini 210 4051 nr as part of creating a dual boot with Ubuntu. In Linux the internet works fine, but in Windows 7 it does not. In the device manager I see yellow flags over the ethernet and network controllers. Code 28 (My model does have an ethernet port).

Because the machine cannot connect, I downloaded all the related drivers (everything from the network tab) from the HP website for my model with another computer and then put them all in a folder on the Mini's desktop via USB. When I try to install the drivers through the device manager, and direct it to that folder, it says it finds nothing usable.

Here are the IDs

Ethernet Controller
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_338D103C&REV_05

Network Controller
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_5390&SUBSYS_163610C&REV_00

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Instead of pointing device manager to those files, have you tried just running the .exe files you downloaded?

That worked for me when I did a clean install on my HP laptop.

Hello computer comrades!

Once again I have ran into a problem that makes me want to bang my head against the wall over and over. My friend just bought an HP Mini off of someone he knew, and all of the network drivers are missing. My initial solution was to go to www.hp.com, input the model # and/or serial # and download the drivers straight from there. No problem right? Well, I cannot find the model # or serial # of this tiny notebook anywhere! I called HP and they told me that there should be a sticker on the back with both listed there, however, they are not.

I went to www.hp.com to just see if I can guess which model this is, but there are hundreds!

Is there any way I can find out the model # of this HP Mini without this sticker that should be on the bottom?

Thanks,

Charlie

Due to hideous misfortune I had to do a clean install of my personal copy of Windows Vista and remove the stock Windows XP from my netbook.

Many drivers were added my Microsoft during Vista installation but I have no adapter drivers for either wireless or ethernet controllers. Under device manager I have no category for Network Adapters but instead those two controllers are listed under "Other Devices".

Under HP downloads I found the driver for Qualcomm Mobile Broadband Drivers - Gobi1000 when I went through the process of stating my product ID and OS (Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit). I downloaded it onto my pc, saved it to the flash drive I had to use earlier as a bootable drive to install Vista (knew the lack of native cd/dvd drive would eventually haunt me) and then moved the flash drive to the netbook to run install.

After running the setup a blank 'ms-dos' window popped up, stayed blank and then disappeared. There was no confirmation of success of failure in regards to installation of the driver. But under Device Manager they are still listed under other devices and I am unable to do anything with them.

I downloaded, transported and ran the setups for HP help and support as well as the Wireless Assistant. Both run fine on the Mini. The wireless assistant simply states that Windows has no controllers assigned to find connections to maintain.

I was curious as to whether or not there was something I was missing, the driver was the inco... Read more

You no longer have a Windows 7 machine, if you installed XP. So, what is the make and model# of your computer? Did you check their support/download drivers site to see if they have Drivers for XP? If the computer shipped with Vista or 7, then chances are great there are no drivers for XP.

Hey,

No you don't need them necessarily, but your computer will perform, graphically, much better. You'll definitely notice a difference. You'll have to go into your device manager and find the manufacturer, or you'll have to find the motherboard manufacturer specs and find out who made the video card.

My internet has not been working for the last couple days. I checked my device manager and it appears that in my Network adapters I am missing my WAN Miniport Drivers. I am not sure how to fix this or get them back. I have tried to restore my computer 3 times now and it does not allow it to restore. Please help! I have also tried to connect directly by ethernet but that is not working either. I guess if nothing else will fix this I will have to take it in to get it fixed and probably have to pay much more than I want. And if nothing is able to be fixed would purchising a Wireless USB adapter get me on the internet?

Edit: I run XP if this helps any.

After reinstalling windows, I am missing drivers for ethernet-controller and Marwell 91xx Config ATA device. Apparently this is my internet access - how do I find a driver when I am not online and search is not automatic? Not very good with computers and need help for what file names to google

A:Missing drivers for network

You will need the make and model number of your computer. Then go online to your computer manufacturer to find them. You should be able to download and Save the more important driver files onto another computer (without running them). They can then be copied onto a flash (pen) drive and installed onto the computer that needs them.I am assuming you have no driver disk.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hello,
My desktop computer is missing drivers for a Video Controller (VGA Compatable). I believe it is built-in the motherboard since there are no video cards plugged into it. I also don't have the Driver disks, nor do I know what parts they are specifically because I think it is custom built and I didn't build it, I also don't know who built it, I just got it.

I've searched quite a bit, and I can't find the right driver. I tried Drivermax, a program I've trusted for some time for driver backup and restore, and helped me get drivers for when I forget to backup before I format, but I don't think it detects any driver for the Video Controller.

I used the following as well, but I can't seem to find the driver:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_29A2&SUBSYS_823B1043&REV_02\3&11583659&0&10

I also used PCIDatabase, a website that also helped me find a few required drivers before, but it seems that, 8086, the vendor (Intel) doesn't have a device with 29A2 as the Device ID.

I'm out of ideas, if anyone have the same Video Controller, I'd really appreciate some directions as to finding the right drivers for my Video Controller, as I cannot really do much on the Desktop Computer, gaming-wise, not even flash games. I could stream videos but I got no sound either. Hahaha.

Thank you in advance,
Day

My Puter was acting up and full of clutter. Took nearly 2 min. to start up. Didn't know what half the junk was so I simply backed it up on a thumb drive and re-installed Windows 7 home professional 64 with the disk I got with the Puter. Couldn't access the internet afterwords. Ethernet controller Driver and network drivers were not there!  I have downloaded them from HP website onto the thumb drive and want to try to re-install home professional again. (I had to install Win 8 because that's the only other disk that came with the PC. It did get me on the internet though.) After I run the install disk again, will I be able to add the drivers off of the thumb drive?

I managed to update the Network Controller, automatically, it was Atheros one. But that didn't fix any issues so the other missing must be vital too, any help which ones are missing?

Hi! Type device manager in start and right click your troubled drivers, hit properties.
click details, and on the drop down list select device instance path
you should get a string looking kinda like this
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_10250292&REV_1000\4&6F8187B&0&0001
Copy and paste them here, or somehow post it here.

Hi there, I've just joined this site after hunting on Google for a solution to my problem.

I recently bought a new pc and installed Vista Home Premium 64bit on it. Everything was working fine until I attempted to transfer my files from my old XP based comp using an easy transfer cable. The transfer failed several times and since then my new computer seems to have developed several problems. The only one I'm really bothered about is my lack of internet access. I rang my cable ISP (Virgin Media) after rebooting my modem failed to get the connection back. They ran me through some diagnosis steps before telling me my NIC drivers are missing!

I have searched the net for my drivers, including the mobo manufacturer's site but cannot find them. I don't know what to do now, can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum wapwap!

We need to see what Windows Vista thinks you have for a network card. To do this please click on the following:

Click start icon > right click on My Computer and select Manage > Select Device Manager and look under network adapters and what does it say there?

P.S. I too looked on Asus and nope no network drivers. Strange!

Tried uninstalling, tried loading the driver from the CD, can't uninstall the WAN Miniport adapters which weren't even there a week ago so I disabled them. I'm clueless right now. PC is clean and running perfect aside from this extremely weird problem, please help.

If you need any further details don't hesitate in asking, I'll be monitoring this thread constantly.

A:New Network Adapters and all drivers are corrupt or missing

You've enabled "Show Hidden Devices" in Device Manager. That's why you didn't see them before. The WAN adapters aren't "new".

Uninstalling these things is T-R-I-C-K-Y. I've done it several times, you have to delete a bunch of very specific entries in the registry. Nothing anyone can teach anyone else either. I'd say this is not an option for you.

The thousand word picture doesn't say what other "symptoms" you have, other than some flagged devices.

Enable everything you can, then report what's flagged. I assume this is an on-board Network Card. Disable the direct parallel in BIOS.

Hi there

I recently did a clean re-install of Windows 7 but forgot to backup the drivers.

I did a Google search of the hardware ID's that I'm missing, but I'm taken to a rather shady Russian website.

The physical hardware itself is TP-LINK 300Mbps Advanced Wireless N PCI Adapter.

From the Ethernet Controller, I'm missing:
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_E0001458&REV_06
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_E0001458
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&CC_0200

From Network Controller, I'm missing:
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023&SUBSYS_3071168C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023&SUBSYS_3071168C
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0023&CC_0280

Please help!

EDIT:
I've managed to get the Ethernet controller driver installed, but I am still looking for the Network Controller. I found out that it's coming from Atheros, I must've tried about a zillion different drivers but none of them are working. It's hard to navigate through the Atheros website since it is in Czech.

Hi,

I have a PC I am currently scanning for problems regarding it's issue of having no access to the internet.

I first noticed that there were no network adapters displayed in the network connections group in the CP. My customer informed me that she had installed some MSN update/utility & after that the internet ceased to work, anyway I figured that maybe someone somehow uninstalled the drivers, so I re-installed the onboard network drivers.....the problem still remains

I then used a series of different NICs in the different PCI slots to see if possibly the mainboard adapter is faulty.....the problem still remains the NICs are not even detected

I figure now that I should try re-install XP, as I am thinking there is a chance that XP is to blame for this occurance.

I unplug the original drive & connect a spare drive I have & re-install XP.
Now with the fresh XP installation, I am still getting the same error

Is it possible the board could partially be damaged by lightning to cause such a problem Apparently at one stage the problem was intermittent, I cannot confirm this exactly, as I was not there.

I want to check if there are any other factors that I have overlooked in trying to troubleshoot this problem, before I consult my customer.

Thanks in Advance

Hello, I recently booted up my laptop and discovered that it wasn't able to identify any wi-fi networks, so I attempted to System Restore and came to error 0x08007005. I attempted to patch it with the error fix, but it failed.

I did more searching and believed I was missing a Lan Driver, but upon installation I got an error message reading that there is no Network Adapter identified, which leaves me here.

I have used msinfo32.exe to indeed identify that there is currently no Network Adapter identified, as well as a fair amount of problem devices, and at this point I don't know where to turn to find more information, please help, and let me know if there is any relevant information I can elaborate with:

But you need the Realtek one thats in the list, Ethernet
and the intel centrino one for your Wifi.

Go to your comps model homepage and download them to a USB.
Then open device manager update but point it to the USB.

Hello!

I have in my possession a netbook, which I've recently wiped and reinstalled Windows onto. It was bought of eBay by my dad and we've found that it has no branding on it or anything - it is simply referred to as 'MINPC' on the top of the casing.
Since we reinstalled it, I've been searching up and down for drivers for this thing. My dad is under the impression that it's an Asus machine (even though I'm convinced it's some cheap chinese thing) and we've so far found rather a lot of drivers, except for the Network (and Ethernet) driver.

So, does anybody here have an idea on what drivers I could use, or where to get some that would work?
Just in case, the netbook is running Windows XP with SP3.

Many thanks.

Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250N AGN
Intel Centrino WiMAX 6250
Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

Then I shut down, removed the old hard drive and install the new SSD. I rebooted the system, inserted the USB FD containing the drivers and copied them into Windows/System32/<Drivers> on the new SSD. The AcerOne doesn't show F: as a valid drive so I can't upload from there. Not sure if that's a separate CPU issue??

I purchased this 'second hand' and original owner doesn't have any original documentation or support tools etc..

Hello, I know that its recommened that I use windows 10, but I dont want to use windows 10, I honestly hate it. I want to keep using windows 7. I went back to windows 7, doing a clean install, (deleting all partitions) and now my 15-f272wm notebook cannot get online. I know I need to download the network drivers, etc. I was missing the PCI, the ethernet controller, and a few others, about 6 things. I came across some help online, downloaded and burned some of the drivers onto a cd, and now my f272wm notebook is still not connecting to the internet, (the wifi adapter is not working or being found at all, not sure what I need to download for that to work again) and also even when I hardwire a ethernet cord into my modem to the computer, its showing as there is no connection. In device manager, under network adapters, im using Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller. The only things in device manager that are coming up as problems are under 'other devices' which is the 'Network Controller' and 'Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller)... Do I need to find these last two drivers in order for my notebook to be able to connect to the internet again? When in device manager, selecting update drivers does not work. It keeps saying it cant find anything. I tried to be as descriptive as possible. Thank you for the help, I know I dont NEED windows 10 in order to be able to access the internet on this notebook. Plenty of people run windows 7 on this. Also if you guys need to know what my net... Read more

Hi and welcome.

Have you tried the HP site? Have you googled for example your model + drivers?

How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try ... Read more

I've just finished downgrading my aunt's laptop from windows 8 to windows 7 Pro 64bit (she was finding it really difficult to work with windows 8) but it seems that a few of the drivers did not make it through instillation. I've already browsed through the drivers available for this model but the ones I need are not there. I spoke with customer support and she said that it's pretty much trial and error...but I was hoping you or someone else might know the right ones to use.

These are the drivers I need:

After a lot of net searching I have found the solution.
It is not understandable why DELL does not provide drivers for Inspiron N5110 for Win 7 32 bit?
Me and a friend of mine recently got the Inspiron N5110 laptop with i3, 3gb, 500 gb. We installed win 7 64 bit as only its drivers were listed on the website.
But 64 bit causes problems while running hi-tech softwares like Matlab and Xilinx (Yes, I am an engineer ). So I had to move to win7 32 bit.
But Win7 32 bit drivers are not available on web. My friend got a solution for this. He found that almost all the win7 32 bit drivers for Vostro 3350 and 3550 are compatible for Dell Inspiron N5110. I download and installed them and they are working on my laptop very well.
You need the following drivers. The actual files are named like R161139,exe, no description. the description is added by me.

I have a HP Mini 1101 netbook which originally came with Windows XP Home. That OS suffered some hal.dll error, so I took the opportunity to upgrade it to Windows 7 Ultimate. I want(ed) to update the drivers but according to HP's support site for this netbook it only covers XP Home & Professional & Vista Business & Ultimate.
I was wondering if would be advisable (I personally don't think it is) to update using the Vista Ultimate drivers?

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to get this device to work for hours, and no matter what I do, I keep getting a messege saying the device driver software was not succesfully installed.

Under Bluetooh Peripheral Device, it says no drivers found.

Has anyone successfully installed the Belkin's Mini-BT dongle, and if so, can someone give me a step by step, how-to on how to do so?

On my iPhone, under Bluetooth, it says that I'm connected to the PC, but on the PC, it says that the BT device needs trouble shooting, and it won't allow me to transfer any files to the iPhone.

Really, the primary reason I got the BT dongle was so that I could use the iPhone's 3G service as an internet connection when I'm away from home.

I'd appreciate any help.

A:Belkin Mini-Bluetooth Drivers - F8T016

Have you been using the system-included drivers, or drivers from an installation disc/download? I'm thinking they're not compatible. Are you on 7 64-bit or 32-bit?

EDIT: I see they work on Vista 32-bit and 64-bit, which means they'll work with both versions of 7. Vista drivers should work with 7.

I bought an HP Mini 110-3015dx with Windows 7 starter pre-installed.  I have since swapped out the HD and loaded XP Pro onto the mini (by slipstreaming the SATA drivers -- what a pain).  Anyway -- I started looking for the drivers for the hardware, and the driver .exe that HP lists for the machine for the WLAN won't work.  I run the executable, restart, and nothing -- no new network adapter shows up.  I've tried mapping the driver directly to the extracted folder that's created in c:\SWSETUP, but there are no configuration files (only cabs and executables), so I cannot manually add the driver. Does anyone know the chipset and have a link to the drivers so I can manually map them to the unrecognized devices?  Or is there some other fix?  As much as I like Windows 7, I need XP on this machine. thanks,WLH

A:Mini 110-3015dx Wireless drivers for XP Pro not working

it does this same thing when you upgard to the full windows 7 - even though that is what HP recommends you do. Then HP will tell you to spend $60 for them to fix the problem - becasue this computer is not compatable with anything other than the windows 7 starter - its just a way for HP to make more money once you buy the product.

It says it's there but it won't boot. Then it also tells me that the media is missing that in need to fix the cord but it still won't let me do anything . I need advice. HP is telling me I have to pay to get fixed and it's completly outragious for the price. Any help?

On some machines, you have to go into BIOS and change the boot order - choosing the USB to boot first.

For you guys who enabled Aero, when you hover an icon in taskbar, it will show a mini preview of the window. I have that, enabled and running, but for some reason, the mini previews will sometimes gone, missing. What I mean by missing is, let's say you have 9 explorer windows, you minimized them all. After a while, I go about... browsing the web, playing some games, watching some videos, etc... After sometime, when I hover the explorer icon on taskbar, some if not all of the mini previews is changed by a generic Window title with an empty window picture (the title is correct). If I use "Switcher" or Flip3D, it all shows the same thing, a small empty window with whatever the label of the window written on the title bar. The only way to restore the mini previews are to click the window, and make Windows redraw it to recreate the mini previews...

I hope this make sense...

Thanks in advance,

Try this go to search type device manager. In device manager make sure your drivers are up to date.

Then try this. Do not use the instructions on the page that says, "test that your drivers are up to date". I cannot vouch for where that will take you.

Here are the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot.

If it's infected it may not ever repair until it is cleaned up. However you can try triggering Startup Repair from F8 System Recovery Options to see if you can get an easier fix first. It may need to run a few times though.

If not everything you need including an installer to do the advanced repairs or if necessary reinstall is in the blue link.

Hello,

I recently loaded windows xp home edition on my dell latitude x300. I noticed when the after the installation my network card and sound card did not work. I checked the device manager and there are question marks next to the “other devices” tab. The following were not installed and can not be found to install: Video controller, Video controller (vga compatible), network controller, and sound controller. First, does anyone have an idea why this happened? Second, where can I find the drivers to fix this? I do have another laptop of the same make and model and I was wondering where I could find the drivers on that to burn and use? Thanks!!!!!!

I took some mini-videos of a few seconds each with my digital camera. The extension of the file is *.AVI.

I emailed it successfully to myself. Then I tried to email it to a friend overseas whose address is *.biz, and it was refused. They do not accept *.AVI attachments, and the postmaster suggested that I zip it - which I did. As a test, I first sent it to myself; it arrived, but I am unable to open it. Also, I was under the impression that zipping will reduce the size of the file, but the size has remained the same - about 10 MB.

Help, please ...

I've just bought a Toshiba Click Mini with Windows 8 and supposedly a free one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal, which was a big reason for purchasing it. Windows "invited" me to upgrade immediately to Windows 10, which I did. When I looked through the apps to install Office/activate my subscription there was nothing! I reset the device and it's now back on Windows 8 but still no Office! I chatted with a Microsoft tech person and he told me that I need a product key but there is definitely nothing in the box or on the computer. Does this model come with Office 365 preinstalled and only requiring activation? Is there any way to restore the device to exactly as it was fresh out of the box?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed any light!

I've got exactly the same problem. Bought mine about a month ago. Only reason I chose that particular model was the free Office subscription.I did contact customer services today but had no reply yet (although that was only about an hour ago). Wonder how many more people are tearing their hair out about that one? Well, good luck to everyone that's affected, hope customer services will come up with a solution otherwise I'd consider this a clear case of being mis sold a product!

Gang is there a way to include iPAD Mini somehow as a client so that from my big muscular Win 8 HTPC do-all I can stream videos across my AP to the iPAD?
I realize there are a few moving parts here:
- the format: I am trying to learn Format Factory as a tool to convert things to an mp4 that the ipad can take, in 720p
- the player used on the Mini... does it require a different one than what's included... an app in other words
- somewhere I thought I saw a way to mount non-apple devices as 'server' to the ipad.... or was that on imac.
- push vs pull.. is there a way, from Win 8, to discover the iPAD device and through some authentication regimen, push the content over to the ipad?

I guess alternatively I can use Skydrive, then pick things out of the skydrive and copy to itunes... seems like a really circuitous route however. If I had the Pro package I could make a local server a "skydrive" server but I have a learning curve there...

thanks

Hi.

I have some films captured on Sony mini DV camcorder. I want to find out the best way to transfer those onto DVD format with best quality possible.

I have a sony dual layer DVD burner and currently using Pinnacle Studio 10. Unfortunately I see some lines and pauses when I make the video with that software (could be memory problem).

Can you please suggest the best capturing software and the best format and the best way to make those videos? And also is it better to capture them as AVI and then convert to any mpeg format (which I don't know which mpeg is the best!!) or is it better to capture in mpeg in straight shot.

thnx

This has only just recently started happening. When I watch a video, listen to music, go on skype, play a game, whatever, the following happens:

The video will freeze for about 2-3 seconds, but audio will resume.
The audio will then stop for the same amount of time when the video resumes.
When the video has caught up to where the audio stopped, both will then start together as if nothing happened.

Any thoughts?

Greetings.

I want to make DVD copies of mini DV home movies.

I'm using a Sony DCR HC96 Handycam. On its base station, there's a USB port as well as two other ports marked DV and A/V.

As for computer, I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with a DVD burner.

Can I use the Handycam as a deck, and record a DV in real time? Or do I need to digitize/encode/rip the video tape onto the hard drive, then burn or DVD?

Where do I start?

Thanks in advance!

I am running a 13" Intel Macbook(NOT a Macbook Pro) with the LATEST version Boot Camp. I purchased today the mini-dvi to video adapter...the one with an RCA video and SVGA video output on one end and the mini-dvi input on the other end. I am connecting it to a 15" Panasonic TV via the RCA video jack.

So, it works fine under OSX, but under XP, it won't. Just a blank screen on the TV under XP.

I've tried changing the display in the display settings, but no luck. On the taskbar in Windows is an icon for 'Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile...'. When I go into the properties for that, there is an option that says

"Multiple Display - Note: Two displays must be connected to the computer before you can use this feature. Please connect another display."

And it says this whether the mini-DVI adaptor is plugged in or not.

So, anyone know of any solution? Is there any way to make this work with what I have?

If it's just a problem with boot camp, like some lack of driver or something, will it be resolved in the next update of bootcamp?

I've heard this is a fairly common problem.

My partner and I have a small web-based business. All our records, etc are contained in Excel and Word files. We each have a laptop, and each of us has the data files on our laptop. Whenever one of us changes a file (and saves it to his hard drive), we then have to copy the changed file to the other's computer, so that he'll have the updated file. We also have a third laptop that we use as a 'spare'.

Obviously, there's an easier way, like what's done in most offices using a server and network. We were thinking that it should be relatively simple to set up the spare computer as a 'server', where all the files would be stored. Then each user would call up the file, work with it, and save the updated file back to the 'server', and to his own HDD. And we'd like to do this wireless (all the computers already have wireless cards). But neither of us is that tech-savvy to design such a network

Can someone please tell me what additional hardware and/or software we need, and what will be involved in the installation of this mini-network.

Thanks in advance to all who may respond.

They work great, I basicly unplugged the lan cables *(disabled the nic card)* cuz I didnt need that any more and use the wifi as the default and only connection and share junk over that now. Well the ladys in the office tell me that peach tree will be very slow and unstable like it will just not work some times and they get error about the connection and stuff. The signal strenth is good and they are set to use infastruction and ad-hock too. *(I see no reason why there would be signal and speed issues)* BUT I want to put it back the way it was. Is there a way to make it so the lan card is used for just sharing files and printers and the wifi card for port 80 and the internet stuff?

I tried to plug both in at once but it always wants to use the LAN when opening up Internet Explorer... How do i assign jobs to each adaptor? *(after disabing the lan card it would use the wifi card)*

A:What's the BEST way to install video drivers , new Direct X,and remove older drivers?

This method works best for me. First off, I use Norton Ghost 2003 to make an image of my Windows drive. When I make this image, I have already installed WinXP SP1 plus all the latest Windows updates I can get. Also, I have already installed useful and necessary programs like Norton Antivirus 2002, ZoneAlarm Firewall, NoAds, Analog X Cookiewall. I make sure that I don't have any videocard drivers installed. As for Direct X, it's the default one installed when you first install WinXP.

Now that I have the image, I go on and try installing new Direct X versions or new videocard drivers. If something goes wrong and messes up my system or I'm not happy with the performance of the new drivers or Direct X, I use Norton Ghost 2003 to restore my image. By restoring the image, I have everything back--WinXP SP1 + all updates, programs I've installed, etc. The process only takes about 4 minutes compared to reinstalling Windows + all the programs manually (3-5 hours).

With the image backed up to that original point, I try alternative drivers or Direct X files until I find a setting I like.

This is the way I test new Detonator drivers and Direct X files. It's fool-proof and makes me more bold in trying out new stuff.

If you need more background on the benefits of Ghost 2003 and its usage, check out this guide at Radified.com:

I left this camera outside one night. Now, when I open the part that swings open to turn on the camera, the camera turns on, however I don't get any picture in the view finder.

I would like to attempt to repair this camera myself.

Does anyone have any idea what part should be replaced?

I have in my notes I should install a new base assembly for this camera. I think a camera repair person told this to me. But it has been some time, so I can't be sure.

Would someone knowledgeable please tell me if they think it is the base assembly that needs replacing. And, also tell me how difficult is it to replace that part.

I live in a very rural area. No company is nearby for me to take the camera and ask them for an estimate and what needs to be done. So, I will have to do this myself.

Thanks

Left outside. Moisture condensed on the electronics and probably corroding the circuit boards. Best bet is to try and dry it out. A folk remedy people try is to keeping it in a warm place in a plastic bag with a dessicant. Uncooked rice is said to work. Remove battery. Wait a week.

If that don't work, throw it away. I still think these old tape cameras are good, but the world has moved on to flash based cameras.

Hi out there to Vistax64. I am a recent XP to Vista user. I have a Vostro 200 mini tower (specs below) that has been running XP pro for the last few years - couldn't stand the GUI anymore lol - so I installed Vista HP and am very happy with the new interface and features. After tweaking some, the desktop appears from cold start in 30 seconds or so and almost everthing runs as snappy as it did before with XP. But the task manager is showing an average use in physical memory of 1.17 gigs, CPU usage is higher, and some, not all, internet pages scroll slowly e.g. Yahoo news pages, Hearts of Space etc. where as they were fine before. Everthing else on the internet, including this site, works well - though a few installs like Starry Night Enthusiast and a John Deere farm game are slower.

My question is this: Would installing a seperate video card give me better all-around performance or would another gig of ram do the trick? And what brand/type of video card do you folks recommend?

A:Video Card For Dell Vostro 200 Mini Tower

Windows will allot 50% of your ram by default, for when you need them programs. Remember, rams fastr than hard drive, and why have all that ram and not use it.

For your power supply, a nvidia 430/440 or an ati/amd 6450, maybe get away with a 6550... Seasonics are quality.

The slowdown is probably because Vista is a bit more of a beast than xp, and graphics can be a bit more hefty.

Sometimes when I play an online game, particularly Starcraft II and Warcraft III, I get a BSOD and it clearly says that there is an error with the nvlddmkm driver (from NVIDIA).

I have mini-dumps, if needed. I was hoping I can find exactly which hardware (or software) is the culprit of my BSOD.

Please help me, thanks.

Specifications
OS Name: Windows 7 Home Premium
Bits: 64-Bit
OS Details: Pre-installed Factory Image

System Age
Warehouse ship-out to seller on March 2011
Seller ship-out to me on April 2011
I received it on April 2011
I have only factory reset once on the day after receiving the retail box.

Was the system used or brand new?
The system and retail box were brand new and sealed by manufacturer.

CPU Intel i5 U520 (clocked to default)
Video
1. NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M (clocked to default) (Automatic GPU Switching)
2. Intel HD Graphics

Motherboard Unknown
AC Adapter Dell FA90PE1-00Input: 100-240V~50-60Hz
Output: 19.5V
Watt: unknown
BSOD happens regardless if the laptop is powered by the adapter or running on battery.

Manufacturer Details
Owned by Dell
Branded by Alienware
Designed by Alienware
Manufactured by Dell/Alienware

Name of Laptop
Alienware M11x R2

I cannot perform a memory/HDD test because I do not have a CD Drive, which link do I go to to boot vs USB?

GPU and CPU are not overheating. I still get BSOD in an extremely cold room or with laptop coolers.

This is strange. You dxdiag is showing that your video device is the Intel on-board graphics card and not the Nvidia card. It is also loading the drivers the Intel video drivers. This could be causing a conflict with your Nvidia drivers. I would check out device manager/BIOS and try to figure out what's going on.

Hi: According to the parts list for your notebook, it comes with an Atheros 9485GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 3012 Bluetooth 4.0 combination adapter. You would need these wireless and bluetooth drivers for that model card. This package contains the drivers for the supported Atheros Wireless LAN Adapters in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system. File name: sp54972.exe This package contains the driver installation package for the Atheros Bluetooth in the supported notebook models and operating systems. File name: sp55714.exe Ethernet (wired) adapter driver: This package provides the Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver that enables the Realtek Network Interface Card (NIC) Chip in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. File name: sp55711.exe Make sure you have installed the Intel chipset installation utility first and restart the PC before installing any of the above drivers. This package contains the Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver for supported notebook models and operating systems. This utility enables the operating system to show the correct name for the installed Intel hardware in the Microsoft Windows Device Manager. File name: sp55706.exe

My HP Mini netbook shows the wireless network that I have here at home, but even after putting in the password, it does not connect to the wireless network. It says "Acquiring Network address" but never connects. My other laptop (a Sony Vaio) and my dvd blue-ray player connect just fine to the wireless network and only this netbook doesn't. I have no clue how to get it to connect. Here is the information from the IPCONFIG /ALL:

Windows IP Configuration
Host Name ........................... : your-6c359a3bdc
Primary Dns Suffic ................ :
Node Type ........................... : Broadcast
IP Routing Enabled................ : No
WINS Proxy Enabled ............ : No

Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:
Media State ......................... : Media disconnected
Description .......................... : 802.11n Wireless LAN Card
Physical Address ................. : 00-1B-41-F2-44

Thanks in advance for any help that is provided.

A:Hp Mini not connecting to wireless network

Were you ever able to connect this PC to that particular wireless network? If so ...

Try with the router's encryption disabled. Assuming success you can probably re-enable encryption and reconnect.

My first post, so hello to all.

My Compaq Armada 7800 laptop started freezing for between 2 to 5 secs every 10 secs yesterday. I suspected automatic updates which were done during the day and since the system was long overdue for a format, did just that. Formatted and did a clean install of Win XP Pro SP 2. Downloaded drivers for pcmcia (Mecer FE1000) nic from driverguide and installed, but as soon as the cable is connected, the system does its mini freezes again. As soon as cable is unplugged the system runs fine.
I checked on the task manager processes but cannot see what is hijacking the system.

I am at a loss, does anyone have any advice for me ?

Thanks

Update :
Finally tested pcmcia card on another laptop and it caused the same problem. Seems my pcmcia card is stuffed, I'll just have go looking for another one.

Thanks

Hi, im having problems with my mini pci wireless card in MSI U130 notebook, it keeps dropping the signal and then when i try to reconect it cant find any networks at all. To get it to reconnect i have to restart but this dose not always work, disable the raido in settings, or unistall driver, or reinstall windows.

so this is what ive tried already

updated the drivers using the MIS Live update tool
Unchecked the box that says "allow computer to turn off device"
Deleted drivers and reinstalled
Deleted windows 7 and reinstalled fresh copy (works for a few days then starts to drop again)
Reinstalled windows 7 and only used the windows 7 driver Not updated it
bought aa new mini card but could not get motherboard to install drivers, i bough it 2nd hand off ebay and it came out of a dell mini notebook
put old card back in and is now working after fresh install for how long i dont know
The card is a 802.11bgn 1T1R Mini Card Wireless Adapter and im fresh out of ideas???? when the siganl drops the you can still see the card in system devices and it says that its working normally also it works fine if i put in a usb wireless dongle.

cant send the laptop back as i bought it off Ebay and it only came with three months warrenty which is now up!

Any ideas on this subject would be greatly appriciated
regards
Matt

From that and the other stuff you've tried and described I think that the card or motherboard is intermittently defective. If it's the motherboard there's nothing you can do. If it's the card you could replace it with the exact same model or one that you know is supposed to work in that model laptop.

My advice is to keep the USB adapter in your pocket or laptop case and use it when needed.
