Hi,I have y700 15ISK 80NW laptop which has Nvidia 960m and Intel HD graphics 530. My problem is I cannot run some games such as Fifa 16 Rocket League.  I get errors. I guess it is happening because my laptop is trying to run games with Intel graphics card. Sometimes restarting laptop or disabling and enabling nvidia card from device manager can solve the problem. But after some hours or the next day I am having the same issue again. I tried -Installing latest drivers from Lenovo's website.-Installing latest drivers from Nvidia's and Intel's websites.-Re-installed games and formatted/clean installed windows 10. Nothing has worked.   When I first bought this laptop Windows 10 home was installed then I clean installed original Windows 10 Enterprise. Can this cause problem? Do I need to try installing Win10 home? One last thing, I wonder am I the only one having issues with graphics card on this laptop?

I have this laptop for more than 4 months now and I cannot play on it. I am using it on two external monitors. One on HDMI and one on a USB3 display link (also hdmi). (Perfectly works when im in work using 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Premiere pro, etc. but useless with games)I am able to play with any games for like 5-10 minutes and then the Nvidia driver randomly crashes with various error messages:Images of various error messagesI have tried to solve it for many many hours but I am out of ideas. Here is what I did:- Download and install newest and some older Nvidia drivers (incluiding and excluding Nvidia Experience)- Upgrade Bios to 35WW- Set everything to High performance NVIDIA processor in Nvidia control panel.- Set always Nvidia in physx- Tried to download and install the newest (including betas) intel GPU drivers and some older.- Set everything to performance in Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel- Not using any external monitors (I have crashes that way as well)I don't know where to go now... It seems that it is a driver problem, or anything like that but I don't think that it would be a hardware problem because when it is runnning it is smooth and good performance. The temperatures are totally ok, max 70-75 celsius degrees. I cannot see throttling at all.Is anyone out there with similar problem? The games I tried to run:- Star Wars: Battlefront 3- Battlefield 4- World of Tanks- Alien IsolationI would like (very very want to!) to play on this machine but current... Hello,  I have the Y700 Touch-15ISK Laptop (ideapad) which I received as a replacement for my last Lenovo which could not be fixed by Lenovo Support. Since I received this as a replacement, my warranty only lasted a month (the residual from my initial warranty). Now, I have only had it for a few months and it has had many instances of the blue screen of death with my computer suddenly needing a restart. I do not have warranty anymore so I am reaching out to you all. The hardware scan says the Mathmatical Operations Test on my Intel (HD) Graphics 550 card failed. I got the result code: WVC007002-UL7VFK. I could not find any information about this code online.  Through the Lenovo website I tried to update my Intel driver by downloading the one the website recommended for my computer after I entered my Serial # (I think it was Intel VGA) and after it downloaded I got a warning saying: "Error: The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. Setup will exit." Regarding the blue screen of death, there have been several different error messages, but the one that comes the most often is "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE". The most recent blue screen message was "Stop Code: SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION; What failed: igdkmd64.sys" I am not sure if these problems are related, but it seems the most important issue is the graphics driver since I use a lot o... Hi,

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Everything was working fine and dandy until one day I turned off my computer. I have a dual monitor setup. One monitor was connected to the integrated graphics card on the motherboard, while the other monitor was connected to the Nvidia Geforce 8600GT.

When I turned the computer on the next day the monitor connected to the 8600GT stayed in a black screen. I discovered the Device Manager stopped detecting the graphics card altogether as well. However, when I hit the windows+ P button to extend and go into screen resolution it shows 2 monitors. However, the one connected to the 8600GT says "Another Display Not Detected" and the resolution is grayed out. When I move my mouse over, the mouse goes onto the other screen, even though it does not detect the graphics card and the monitor is black!

I have tried and searched EVERYTHING. I have found MANY other people with the same problem and no solution. I switched monitors to make sure they both worked. I have gone into the BIOS and switched it to load the PCI Express graphics card instead of the onboard g-card (there is no option to disable the onboard g-card in BIOS). I went into the Nvidia Management options to make sure it was set to allow dual displays. I have installed older drivers, tried compatibility with Vista, unplugged and replugged the graphics card.

Is there anyone out there who has actually solved this problem? Does anyone have ... Read more

A:Nvidia Graphics Card Not Being Detected

By any chance did you install the NVIDIA beta drivers? If so they are broken for the 8600GT right now (been documented EVERYWHERE)

The only way to fix it is to system restore back before the driver was installed OR a reinstall of Windows

I have a Lenovo z500 ideapad laptop which has a Nivdia GT 635M graphics card and an Intel (R) HD graphics 4000. Currently running Windows 10   It had recently come to my attentoin that i was getting a significantly lower FPS when gaming. upon further investigation, i realised that the games were all running using the Intel graphics and not the Nvidia. I then realised that i was unable to open the Nvidia control panel.I immediatley tried to find some solutions and as i had not updated the drivers in some time, i went to the Nvidia website to try and download the latest driver for my graphics card after i uninstalled the previous versions using DDU. and of course, the installation failed in the first step, displaying an error message saying ''The graphics driver could not find compatible hadware''. I also tried to install older versions of the driver (compatible with windows 10) but it still displays the same error message. Geforce Experience did not work and reinstallation of it failed.    'Display adapters' in device manager only shows the Intel (R) HD graphics 4000 and does not show any signs of the nvidia graphics card. i have also read in other forums that people have found their drivers under 'other devices' but this does not appear for me in device manager. It's almost as if the Nvidia graphics card never existed!!!   I finally visited the lenovo website to try and find the drivers here as i thought they may have been modified slightly for i... I have the Asus-N61JV notebook with Nvidia Geforce GT 325M grpahics card on Windows 7 32 bit. I downloaded the version 197.16 driver from Nvidia. By default my notebook detects the driver as standard VGA graphics adapter. The Chip type is detected as ?Intel(R)Ironlake Mobile Graphics ChipSet?. Now when I follow the manual driver installation the message I am receiving is ?Installing this device is not recommended because Windows cannot verify that iy is compatible with your hardware?. ? , I thought of ignoring this message and proceed with the installation but then paused to check if any one else is facing the same problem. Any idea?

A:Nvidia Geforce GT 325M graphics card is not detected

Well, if you want to install the latest driver for this graphic card, you can find it here.

NVIDIA DRIVERS 197.16 WHQL

Or you can try the one available on the Asus website.

It should work just fine either way, despite the message.

i have a geforce fx 5200 8x agp 128 mb graphic card. it worked fine for me for about an year. but now suddenly only 64 mb of video ram is detected by my system. i checked the 'dxdiag' dialogue box and it also shows only 64 mb of video ram. reinstalling the drivers, the card itself and tweaking different bios settings has not worked for me. what to do? how can this happen? can a part of video card memory just die like this? if not, then what can i do to restore the 'hidden' 64 mb of it? any answers, suggestions etc. will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

A:GeForce Nvidia fx 5200 128mb graphics card, only 64 mb is detected?

I haven't looked up the specs on your card, but usually they are split in two ie 64 + 64 = 128Meg . Even though it's only one card.
I know my 512Meg Vid card does this. It reports two cards in Device Manager as 256M (even though it's only one card)

I don't know all the ins and outs, but I suppose it's faster doing it this way

Hey guys,

I've got a Aspire V3, with a GT 730m and Intel HD4000 inside it. My problem is as the title states, my system does not recognize the GT 730.

I've had the laptop for 2 and a half months now and I had no problems for the first month, but since then my card has caused a great amount of frustration.

It's at random, but the problem starts with the card crashing, a BSOD and then the system not recognizing the card. My fix for getting the laptop to re-recognize the card is hooking up a monitor and then uninstalling the Intel card and then rebooting it a time or two.

However this time I am unable to get it to detect the card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Just ran a calibration of the display using Calman RGB last night and have to say that I am a little disappointed.  The grayscale calibration worked well and I ended up with under .5% error but the color was way off out of the box and for some reason the Calman software could not make any significant improvement to the primary and seconday colors.  Initial color error was almost 9%... a very noticable flaw in color reproduction.  Calman did manage to improve other color points to get the overall color error to about 3% but, if just measuring the primaries and secondaries, the error appears to be in the 7% to 8% range. Curious if anyone else has tried calibrating their Y700 and managed to achieve better results ? Also curious what others think about the mod to remove the anti-glare film ?  I don't like it.  It actually creates a haze under direct sunlight.  And I wonder if the anti-glare film is messing with the color.

A:Y700 (15ISK) Display

The antiglare really does impact clarity. I'm not sure if colors are affected by it, but reason seams to think yes to some extent.

Evening. I have purchased the Lenovo Y700-15ISK and having installed CS GO I am experiencing FPS spikes every 5-10 minutes of gameplay. At first I believed it was down to the GPU temperature reaching the throttle limit of 67 degrees but after further tests I have played for 1 hour+ and the temperature has not gone above 60 degrees. These spikes happen as soon as I enter the game even if the laptop has only just been turned on so I don't believe it is temperature related. I have the max processor state at 99% to eliminate turbo and it does not make any difference if I have the graphics settings on high or low. Any ideas or help would be appreciated as I seem to have hit a brick wall. Thanks in advance. Chris Keegan.

A:32 GB Ram on Ideapad Y700-15ISK ?

Hi basitj  ,

Greetings .

I was also waiting for other members to try going beyond 16 GB on this model.
So far,  was not able to get a verified working upgrade on this model most likely since it was just released in the market and that it is using DDR4 already.

Seen models that worked from beyond recommended RAM from OEM since memory controller of processor usually exceed whole system max ram. This is due to systemboard limitation and firmware identification set by OEM.

If you can have your company IT group test it or have computer shop to try going beyong 16 GBDDR4 then it's the only time we can decide .

Update us if possible , it would be a good reference for our community.

Hi for the last 4 months ive been trying to fix a problem that ive been having with my computer.
about 4 months ago I did a major pc upgrade where i replaced my motherboard, processor, ram, heat sink, power supply and case, the only things I used from the original computer where 2 HDD's, 1 SDD and my AMD radeon HD 6950 2gb.

Now ive have the most strange issue where i can be watching a video off the HDD or surfing the web on youtube etc and not long after I start the activity my computer will turn off like if I had flicked the switch on the back of the power supply and then it boots back up again and will run fine until i start up an activity again and then it does exactly the same thing and reboots, there is no BSOD shown nor Dumps Created.

Ive tried many things to sort this out and have RMA'ed the power supply and the motherboard (the motherboard wasn't a direct replacement as they didn't sell my original board anymore which was a gigabyte ga-x79-ud5, now i have an asus p9x79 deluxe). I have tried only plugging in one HDD/SSD and then tried a spare HDD when that failed, i have tried one ram stick at a time and still nothing.

now heres where it gets strange whilst trying to rule out differnt hardware i switched my AMD card out for a very old 512mb, pcie 1.0 x16 nvidia graphics and since then my computer has been running marvelously i can have it playing videos for hours, days even(although i havent properly tested for days) and not a single problem at all.

The comparison you are making between GPU brands is pointless as a diagnostic. The MAIN difference I can see is that one card requires external power, and the other one does not. A proper diagnostic would be to test another GPU that requires external power.

I've heard that the specific PSU you bought will sometimes not power all the hardware it is supposed so.
People saying it could barely power a SSD, or even an extra fan.

My thoughts. Try using another PSU, try using a similar GPU. Use your old PSU and see if it still happens for starters.

Hello All, I have several issues with my Y700-15ISK. I have the latest BIOS (CDCN35NWW or something from 2016/03/29) (in EUFI mode). The latest one, before all BIOS updates in connection with Y700 15ISKi disappeared from the Lenovo sites. I mostly use the latop with an external monitor via HDMI. Sometimes (I could not find a rule when) it starts to display red dots over the screen. If it is 3D graphics it moves along with the texture. You can see screenshots in the link below. The second problem is that the display goes black at random times and then it comes back after a 1-2 seconds. It is like when you change the resolution. The 3rd problem is when the BIOS is in EUFI mode sometimes I get a VGA error 43 in the Windows Device Manager. The system tells me that it had problems with the device and disabled it completely. The solution for this is to reset the BIOS back to factory defaults and reconfigure it to the desired state. This is jus ta workaround because this problem can occur also totally random. I've tested my external display with my other laptop Lenovo T440s with DisplayPort to HDMI converter and the same HDMI cable. Never experienced any problems. Tried Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 64 bit systems and all the Chipset, and VGA drivers which came out since then (provided by both Lenovo and Nvidia). Pictures of the screen:https://1drv.ms/f/s!AmvQYqr8ukT-gYg6a85wd6zmvNESxw Could you help me identify the core of the problem?  Tha... Hi, I've been experiencing this throttling issue for the past month now ( I've had this laptop since January). The fps drop from 170 to 60 for a couple of seconds and go back up to the initial value. I've had this issue a couple of times before but it would fix itself after restart (usually had it when I wake the laptop from sleep and immediately load CS:GO).  Now, I notice that this happens everytime I start playing and the temp goes above 69 degrees - I used to play with 170-200fps before with GPU temps surpassing 80 degrees with no fps drops at all.  This is really frustrating, especially when knowing that my brother has no FPS drops using my 5 year old Lenovo Y570 with  geforce GT 555m...Is there any way to fix this? I mean the gaming experience, as stated above was fine until a week ago, when I started getting these FPS drops, so that means that this issue can actually be fixed. Specs are Intel Core i7-6700HQGTX960M 4GB12 GB DDR4256GB SSD  ( CS:GO is on the SSD if that matters)I use Speedfan to check the temps. CS:GO is using the nvidia gpu, and the gpu is se to performance, power saving is disabled i am using balanced performance and set all advanced settings to maximum performance.

So, one recently my Lenovo Solution Center is giving me this error telling me something isn't working. Here's the error code: Result Code: WVC003002-UL7VON. Is this affecting my gaming? Because I haven't been able to run newer games all too well. And this computer has a 970m. That's somewhat new. Secondly, the computer has been running really slow recently, and not being very responsive. It'll freeze from time to time, or it won't work. Like I tried to open my windows search on windows 10, but it just wouldn't let me. Same with the Lenovo Center. I had to completely shut it down, and relaunch it for it to open it up. Thirdly, a question. How do I turn off the little pop-up thing when I turn on caps lock or num lock. I don't need a notification to tell me I pressed it, I know I pressed it. Thanks. And sorry for so much in one thread. This laptop is somewhat bother-some.

I am experiencing a display error every time that I boot up my new laptop from sleep or being off.  It looks like there are boxes all over the screen (attached).  Oddly, it goes away after a few seconds of use. I updated my video driver, but the issue persists.  I am not extraordinarily tech savvy, but please let me know if there's anything else that I can try before taking it in to a service center. Thanks!

Hello, I recently bought a Lenovo Y700-15ISK with i5 6300HQ, Geforce GTX 960, 1 TB WD HDD (No SSD). I really like this laptop. But there are some serious issues that I don't know how to fix. First of all, I have installed Windows 10 Home edition. I disabled all the windows 10 problems, that were eating my memory, hdd. But I still find my computer quite slow when working... I expected it to be a beast. Actually it takes about 90 seconds to boot Windows 10. It's not normal... I saw worse laptops boot much faster... And the programs: When I double click My computer it takes like 3-4 seconds to open it. The second time I double click it it's much faster. Right click also lags. Opening chrome takes like 5 to 10 seconds. And when I install programs, install from ISO files, copy files I can't do anything else. The laptop lags a lot, sometimes freezes. But games like GTA, Fifa work fine - no lag in high graphics. I've done a lot of things, reinstalled the windows - nothing helps. Is this normal? Do I need a SSD for windows 10 or what?.... Or do I need to install windwos 10 as UEFI? But I read that there is not a big difference. The HDD has no errors, checked it many times, the transfer speeds are good. The next thing, I decided to go to Windows 7 64 bit on this notebook. The good old windows that I always liked. I installed it. And... I also have problems... Actually this windows works much faster, better. But I can't install the Audio device and Bluetooth (well bluetooth i... Read more

Not sure what is going on exactly. Once I was able to actually see what the "error" was on the blue page, the other times it was gone so freaking fast. "igdkmd64.sys" Recently I've also noticed that when I hover over links in either Chrome or Opera it starts to jitter the screen a bit, but firefox doesn't. Not sure if they are related or what. I downloaded the driver through windows (device manager and etc) and through intel and either did anything it seems. My GeForce drivers seem to be up to date as well. Hopefully someone has a though or etc.

I recently bought a M.2 SSD and I want to use it as a cache drive. Intels RST requires AHCI mode, I was under the assumption that I was already in AHCI mode but my inability to create any raid volumes through the disk management or have my drives recognized by the RST app says otherwise. There is no option to change my mode from IDE to AHCI in BIOS due to it being locked. How can I work around this?

A:Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ISK how to put into AHCI

Look in the device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller, it should say Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller. For your second part of your question, you need at least 2 disk with unallocated areas to make a RAID array. But, saying that I would never setup a software RAID (ie windows) array and the BIOS doesnt support a hardware RAID

Hi guys,As you read already in the subject, I posess a Lenovo Y700-15ISK (i7-6700 Skylake, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA 960M 4GB DDR5, 512GB SSD) and I need at work two external monitors. One is bind directly via HDMI cable but for the second one I needed the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter to make it work because, as you already know, the new generation from Lenovo comes only with one HDMI port and that's all. Now, the problem is that the adapter is not working. I tried with different laptops with older specs and it worked just fine. Then, I took another lenovo y700-14ISK which didn't have the NVIDIA graphic board and also no SSD, but the same processor. Guess what?! Didn't work. Then, I thought that the new Intel Processor with the new HD Graphics 530 is the problem because I tried also with a brand new MSI with the same processor, and it didn't work. I was kinda happy thinking that at least I know where the problem is, until a friend of mine bought an ASUS ROG which has the same processor, and it worked without any problem to bind with the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. Now, as you can see, I'm trying to figure it out, where exactly is the problem. FYI I tried, before writing here, everything I could find on the internet regarding this kind of problems and nothing worked for me. I had a Win 8.1 Pro installed, I upgraded to Win10 Pro, I reinstalled Win10 Pro nothing worked. I tried to update all the possible drivers for the graphics card. Really, I cannot un... Read more

My laptop came with windows 10 pre-installed.  I've been trying to downgrade it to windows 7 64 bit.  Every time i put the CD in the drive to boot windows 7, it seems to work up until the point where it scans the hardware configuration.  At that point it asks me for drivers and will not continue. There are drivers for windows 7 on the product page for this model, but they look like drivers that you would use after you get windows installed. Can someone post me the steps about what i need to do in order to make this work?  What settings i need to have in the bios, and any drivers i would need for the install of windows 7? Thanks

A:Y700 15ISK - How to install windows 7 64bit?

So to update this, i still haven't figured out how to install windows 7 on this.  Here's what i've done: I've used both the Windows 7 DVD and i created a bootable USB wiith it (UEFI Boot).  They work. I disabled the  security in the bios, so i could work with UEFI, but when i boot the machine with either, the windows 7 loading screen happens, then it freezes on the Starting Windows animated logo.  I can get no further. When i set the bios to boot in legacy mode it gets past that part, but then asks me for a driver.   I've downloaded all of the windows 7 64 bit drivers on the Y700-15ISK driver page, but none of them seem to be the driver that windows is looking for. Right now i'm a little at the end of my rope on this.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome,

It may be that nothing is wrong.  You laptop may have an "always-on" USB port that can be used for charging external devices.

You might try using another port, or checking BIOS to see if there's an option to turn off that feature.

I'm having trouble finding documentation that addresses this, so the above is just a guess.

I'm having some lag with my touchpad, about every 3 seconds. Searched around about this problem and did some updates on the driver.

Even did a factory reset, but same problem.

Anyone having similar problem and fixed it?
Read somewhere that it may have something to do with the Realtek HD audio software/driver??

Using external mouse for the most, but would be nice to have the option to use a functional touchpad from time to time.

I recently bought this laptop and I have two problems:1. Especially when the screen is black, there is a green light on the upper part of the screen. I don't know what causes it maybe a led or something is installed badly (it's a 5 cm² area). Should I take it back and ask for a new one?2. This problem is related to scaling. When it is set to 100%, everything is small but crystal clear. When at 150%, everything looks normal but some apps like Steam, BitTorrent... are blurry like they were just zoomed on. Reinstalling windows and drivers should solve this? Simply reinstalling drivers didn't help. Thanks!

A:Lenovo Y700-15ISK screen issues

I don't know anything about your first problem (it may be a hardware problem), but I do know something about the second. Some programs (Steam, for example) aren't made for high-dpi screens. for these programs that appear blurry, right click on their icon (on the desktop), and click properties. Under the compatibility tab, check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". This should work after you restart the program.

As usual I put my PC on sleep at night (it was charging). Woke up, opened the lid and there's nod isplay. Screen is dead black, no display.  Long press power button, reboot, the keyboard backlight is up, PC is clearly booting with boot sounds but no display. Pressed Fn + F3 to see if it works, no luck Then connected an external monitor, no luck, restarted and well, the display shows up on the external monitor.  At this point, Windows sees only 1 monitor installed, that is on the HDMI, nothing internal.  Both duplicate screen and external only work on the external monitor.  Restarted several times, shut down and start, no luck. PC is working fine on external monitor but no display on laptop LCD.  I know there are other threads but they get no display on external only, hence starting this thread.  Any pointers will help.

i have just bought a new y700-15ISK and trying to play DOOM.According to youtube videos I've seen, this should be absolutely no problem. I installed the latest intel and nvidia drivers from the lenovo website, I upgraded the bios to the latest version, and configured the graphics to use the nvidia gpu. Yet even at the lowest quality settings possible, I get only 8 fps in the start screen. once the game starts, it drops to 2 fps. The in-game diagnostics say that it uses the nvidia card, but that is impossible. It seems as if behind the scenes, the intel takes over again. I searched on the internet and found severa; people with similar issues, but no solutions. Does anyone here have a suggestion on how to proceed, other than returning the laptop and buying a different brand?

A:Y700-15ISK 3D (doom) dreadfully slow

I feel silly now for posting, but I figured it out right after posting this. I figured I should post the solution just in case others having the same problem find this: After installing all drivers, I discovered that having and using the latest nvidia driver is no good if you don't have the latest nvidia 'game ready' drivers, and these are not updated automatically. So I opened the gameready app via the system tray, updated the gameready driver, and re-scanned for compatible games. It found doom, suggested the change of some settings, and allowed me to launch doom, running at excellent frame rates. I still don't understand why this would be a problem. Last I knew, games supported 3d drivers. 3d drivers didn't support individual games. As long as the graphics drivers were up to date, the game should be able to use them. But then again my last 3d gaming experience was Quake3Arena on a Core2Duo With a Geforce 7950 :-)

So I wanted to ask: 1. Does it have a free M.2 port? all models of the Y700-15ISK should have them, or am I wrong? 2. Which type of M.2 SSD does it support? M or B+M? I already sent the same questions to the retailer, but I am still waiting for an answer so thought I'd ask here as well.

Hi guys! I have a problem with my Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ISK (maybe due to a virus or an unfinished updating).

I would reset it and reinstall windows 10, but I'm afraid to stultify the warranty doing that.
Does anyone know something about it? the laptop will be under warranty even I reset and reinstall Windows 10?

Hi Giulia1591 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Resetting the operating system will not invalidate your warranty.
In doing such , your Lenovo machine actually have a feature that make it easier for the user to perform it using the One Key Recovery feature that would delete and reimage your system the way it was from out of the box.

Just turn off the laptop and press the Novo button (item1,page 72) to turn back on.
Novo menu , system recovery would offer One Key Recovery from initial backup that would automatically reset the laptop. Other recovery options for windows 10 are available too.

Do take note on how you reset windows 10.
If you are to perform a clean installation (reinstalling via a downloaded image), this would delete the OKR feature and treated as a retail version specially if you install a different version other than what came with the laptop.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

While playing GPU intensive games I had the feeling that the laptop does not reach its full capabilities.Even while using the recommended GPU settings by NVIDIA for the respective game, the games felt a bit sluggish. So I ran some benchmarks using the program Furmark. It looks like the laptop is programmed to throttle the GPU once the temperature reaches 65-67 °C.Can this be possible? This kinda sucks. I didn't pay for high end hardware just to have it throttled by my system's BIOS or whatever causes this. Moreover the fans don't always seem to run at full capacity before the temperature throttling kicks in.It also does not seem possible to control or monitor the fan speed by a third party program like MSI Afterburner. If this is supposed to be a laptop for gamers it kind of missed the mark here.

Make sure you don't have any power saving features turned on, I know Lenovo has a bunch of Power Management software installed by default. Are you using "Power Saver" power plan in Windows by any chance? I can max out the overclock in Afterburner and game for hours on end at 1337 MHz core, so I'm not having any throttling issues. However I did do a clean install of Windows so I have no Lenovo software running on mine.

It seemed to install ok, with no errors, but then the laptop got stuck in a bootloop where the Lenovo logo (now on a new ugly colored background) comes up for 10 seconds or so, then reboots. I don't have a recovery partition anymore, so the Novo reset won't work. Just got this laptop 2 months ago via amazon. I am a DJ and use Serato DJ software. I have only played 1 party with the new laptop. I am running windows 7 and windows 10 (difference partitions) Today I decided to build the overviews of my music collection. The software uses all 8 cores (8 songs at a time) to build them. I had the laptop running for about 2 hours. Everything was running fine. I even have the laptop slightly elavated in the back to get extra air flow. All of sudden the laptop shut off. I noticed that the charge light on the front of the laptop was no longer while. Power brick was pretty hot which seems normal for the intense core usage. Called tech support and went through some tech support, have to call back since there database was down. I suspect something on the laptop motherboard or memory etc went toast. This is my first Lenovo laptop ever. I have been a Dell guy for over 10 years, never ever had any hardware issues in 4 other laptops.  What can I expect from Lenovo warranty service? Anyone have any other thoughts on what the heck could have happened. This is probably the most intense I have run the laptop. DJ with the software isn't as intense as building overviews. Think of it as rendering.

Hi,it's my first post here, so please don't shout at me. I've looked on the forum and I've found that there were more people with this problem. I looked on the solution, but they didn't solved my problem. Under this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rK7n2SJIDzU line is fully visible. Vsync option was on in the game as well as in the nVidia control panel. I've seen this line in more games, but in this one it always appears. When screenshot is taken, there is no line on it, so it's not badly drawn frame. Should I send it in for repairs under warranty? Thank you for any help.

Good evening, Lenovo Solution Center just performed an hardware analysis, and a failure was reported during the Intel Graphics HD math test: WVC007002-UL7D4J It indicates to go to an address that doesn't exist (eticket), so I don't really know what to do. Previous tests were fine, driver hasn't changed. Any idea what I should do? Regards, Mateos

I bought my Y700-15ISK on 24/06/16 and within an hour or so of use the screen went black and the computer didn't seem to respond to anything (except toggling the keyboard backlight with Fn-space). The computer itself did not shut down as indicated by the keyboard lights. This kept repeating itself several times at seemingly random intervals and the computer would only return to normal after a hard shut down by holding the power button and power back up again. I've seen several other complaints on the forums regarding this problem, one of which was tagged as solved and contained a broken link to Lenovo's solution. The following link was found elsewhere and seems to refer to the same problem: https://support.lenovo.com/il/en/documents/SF16-I0012 Though here the link for the BIOS update is broken (which is version 30 anyway, and the one on my computer is 34). Later I found a page on Lenovo's site cached by Google (original is dead) containing update 35 for this model's BIOS but it doesn't seem to install correctly and I still have version 34. I've also seen talk of update 35 causing trouble for other users. I've updated all relevant drivers as well and the computer is not heating up, running the fans loudly or acting strangely otherwise when this issue occurs. I have sent a message to Lenovo but will probably only get a response after the weekend. As far as I can piece together they might have released a bad update to counteract this and have taken it do... Read more

Hello everyone.Recently bought a y700, my first laptop, and i was very pleased with it untill i found out about the 67 degrees throttle on the GPU, which is incredibly annoying. I was wondering if any of you knew if the bios updates they released fixed that problem. And does updating the bios voids warranty? Also, another thing i'd like to ask bout is : When installing something, games for example, the hdd is used 99% making the laptop really slow. How normal is this? I have the version with a 1 TB 5400 HDD, no SSD.Might seem like noob questions. That's because I am.

Hello Lenovo Forums, I am trying to install Windows 10 on my SM951 256GB m.2 ssd. Unfortunately, while it is recognized as a drive in windows, and in the bios, it is not considered a bootable device. When installing windows, it goes directly on the current c://. What am I doing wrong? Much Consideration, Xenda

Hello, it has been 2 days since i bought a lenovo y700 15isk, Model Name 80NV, MTM 80NV00CNRI and im having big problems with fans, they run very loud with no reason. When i start up the windows 10, for about 5 minutes it stays very quiet, but when i start using for example youtube or facebook ore something that does not need very much processing power the fans kick in immediatly, and never low down any more. It is very frustrating for me because i didnt exept a laptop of this kind to have this issues. I have tried to install all the drivers, but nothing helped.I read somewhere that it might be a bios issue but i dont know how to update this bios.My bios version is CDCN25WW, 9/4/15. Can anyone please help me, can somebody tell me is this bios version the latest one or it need to be updated. Can you tell me how to update the bios. Hello,I'd like to ask, if any of Y700 user faced same or similar problem, with orange/yellowish shade/tint on the screen?Problem started 3 months ago, it was a really hot weather outside, computer was working fine, and then after a few moments it appeard. I doub't that it was me, who damaged a screen, because i'm really gentle, when using it.I bought a notebook at the beginning of this year. It is still on a warranty. I already tried send on a warranty to a serivce for repair ( i think, company is called MEDION (at least for lenovo devices bought in Poland), but they send it back, with a reason that "they couldn't achive same problem in their test enviroment" which is really strange, because problem appears everytime notebook is working. Any suggestion what i can do? Should i send it back again on the warranty, hoping that this time, they will be able to see a defect? What was the root cause of a problem? I don't won't to leave it like that, because notebook wasn't cheap, and except a screen issue, notebook is amazing. But it is really hard and annoying to use it like that.Attached screens, look at the bottom right corner. Orange shade is most intense in this place. But you can see it also, througthru all the bottom and right edge.??Thank you for any advices.

I bought my laptop in June in the US, but I'm currently living in France. My laptop worked normally in France, but on September 20th I activated the express charge function and the battery only charged to 63%. After that, I noticed that the battery doesn't charge at all, and that I have to work with my computer plugged in to the power outlet, otherwise it dies. Battery condition changed to Poor. Before having this issue my laptop used to freeze a lot and I had to turn it off by pressing the power button, and that happened very frequently.  AFter the battery issue I also had some files deleted from my downloads folder.

Hi, I bought Y700 Touch-15ISK Laptop around 1 month ago and i noticed 2 thing that kind of bugs me. First problem is very simple to explain but doesn't seem that easy to solve, everytime the laptop is plugged charging if you touch it you can feel static electricity . How bad can this be to the computer? Second thing, after i turn of the computer if my mouse is plugged-in i can see the mouse is still on due to the light under it. Is it normal? Thanks for your time and help.

Hi Luis and welcome to the community,

Try plugging your adapter into another outlet.  If the outlet that it is plugged into isn't properly grounded, that could cause the shock.

If this is a wireless mouse with a dongle, it is normal for it to be on if the dongle isn't attached back to the mouse.

Regards,
Dave
