Can't find app that lets me get photos printed & delivered to me for Lumia 640XLMore replies
I have printed photos from e-mails before, but never had a problem with moire patterns. This time I have a fine vertical line pattern that is not clearly seen unless you have glasses on that magnify them. Unfortunately, I wear glasses that bring them out. What can I do to prevent or get rid of the moire? Any ideas? Thanks, lilart
It likely just a matter of the resolution of the email derived image vs the resolution of the printer. Does it happen with every image or just the lower resolution ones from the emails?
Hi, I've started getting a strange 'pale' line or banding down the very left side of my printed photos. I first noticed it on a night shot (see link below) and then on the other one link below, a daytime one.
All the ink cartridges are full or almost full and I've done nozzle check and head cleaning. It doesn't show up on a greyscale B&W print I did (or at least not that I could notice).
It's on the leading edge, the part of the image being printed first when using the full size paper eg. A4, 10x15cm.
On a whim while writing this I just tried printing a 7"x5" image in the middle of a sheet of A4 and there was NO banding. Same result with a margin of 2cm rather than the default 0.5cm.
With the 0.5cm default margin, it's like whatever is going on only affects the next 0.5cm of the paper (the first 0.5cm of the printed image).
Is this a paper-feed thing then?
Any ideas how to solve it to avoid wasting lots of paper?
Other than this the printer, whilst old, is still very good

I have an Access database used on daily basis to enter and print the maintenance work order in a report format. I have assigned a command button to print the required record. On clicking the button in the Form, a parameter query will run asking the user to put the record number to proceed. Once the correct record number is entered in the parameter text box, the report is previewed and the user click on the print button to print the same.
My question is as follows:
Is there any method to find out the record i am going to print now was already printed before? A kind of record keeping for the printed records.
Also, a message box should warn the user saying incase if the record was already printed, “The record was previously printed, do you want to continue printing again?”
Please tell me a way to perform the above in my Form.
could't you just add a field in the record for printed?
Then if printeed true, show warning, else show printable form.
Using Win 10. Daughter has loads of photos on a Samsung mobile that we want to upload and print some of them. Assume that I am totally clueless
which is not far from the truth but know I have done it before with W7 and different phones.
Just connect to a USB port windows should find the phone and open an explorer windowa and you can just drag the photos from the DCIM folder either on internal storage or SD card where ever she has stored the photos.1 more replies
1st, I was using a lumia 1020. The screen got broken. I could still use t to a certain extent. So I made sure, I backed it up on the cloud.
2nd (another gripe about Nokia) I could not buy another 1020 or a 1520. The att stores are not carrying them.
So I bought a 930, which maybe only a 830. ????
3rd. I was using an app for private photos called PhotoSafe. I made sure I migrated Those pics to the saved folder on the 1020. They are still there and I haven't lost them. ( (I am going to repair the screen on the 1020 and reuse that phone.) (I hope))
So here is my deal. When I go to the cloud, they are not there. When I go to the Photos app on the new 820, they are not there either. hen I click albums, 4 show up. < Camera roll, Saved pics, (they are not there) Facebook. I never put pics there, so not there either. Last is an Icon for onedrive. They are there.
I guess my question is how to sync them back to a current folder on either one cloud or the 820.
Been putzin for 3 hours. I can do it, but it only lets me do one at a time, 768 pictures would take way to long. So I need you gurus help.
Thanks in advance.

I have Lumia 630 and 650 synced with same outlook email ID. The photos attached with the names in the phonebook have disappeared and are not visible in both the phones. The photos have also disappeared from the outlook account, when viewed the my laptop. Can i regain them?More replies
Is there a way to find all photos taken by a Samsung Phone across numerous folders (about 140)?
I know on an individual folder I can set the sorting to camera maker, then search for Samsung.
But I need to do this across 140 different folders.
Why? I'm glad you asked...
My wife's hard drive was deleted / partitioned before her business vacation photos were backed up.
While I recovered EVERY photo off the drive (even those that had been deleted), they are now scrambled about across 140 different folders with names like: 01, 02, 03 etc...
So I need to find a way to find those photos taken with her Samsung Note phone.
Thanks in advance.
(Yes, I googled this first, and the only answer I saw was a stack exchange question that linked to a now-deleted microsoft document - Not very helpful.)
Hello mate now have you trieed looking in camera as well and I would try attaching the phone to the machine maybe try Recuva as you would with an external drive - worth a try at least,
I have previously been able to download pics from this phone & my camera but now laptop doesn't recognise either when connected through usb.
sounds like the usb port pooped out...
Do you have another usb device to try ?

When i have the pictures files from the phone up on the computer screen i see where i have the option to "clear selection". (attachment). If i click on "clear selection" it takes the whole screen off and then i don`t have the option to select the files i want to import. I think i remember that i could clear all of the files that are ticked and the page stayed up and then tick the one`s that i need to import. I hope i have made this clear. Could you help please? I have a Nokia Lumia 1030, (Windows 8?) phone and cannot find how to print the photos at one of the typical drug store or Wal-Mart photo kiosks. I'd ideally like to save all the photos to disk(s) and browse to create albums etc. I've spoken with people at the AT&T store where I bought the phone, and with people at Wal-Mart and CVS. No luck. One way that I found to copy photos but they were much less resolution and that isn't what I want. Suggestions?

I am trying to transfer photos from Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge to HP Envy laptop. The Samsung Galaxy does not have a memory card so all photos and videos are stored in the cloud. I have tried to follow the directions on this forum, but I have been unsuccessful. The laptop shows the phone as a device but will not allow us to transfer the photos from the Samsung phone. Could you please help me troubleshoot this problem. Thanks in advance.
CarolineCross Unless Samsung has changed their defaults, photos and videos are stored in the phone's internal file system, not to the cloud. Also, there is not one single "cloud"; instead, there are many different ones, and which one you use depends on the app you use on the phone. For example, when you save contacts, they are stored in the Google "cloud". I use MyBackupPro to store stuff and it has its own "cloud" which is separate from all the others. Most likely, you will have to log into the cloud service you use from a Browser on the HP laptop and retrieve the media files that way, as the Android apps on your phone don't run on the laptop. I could transfer photos from my mobile to my laptop running windows 8.1 by selecting "share" then Bluetooth on my phone. I updated my laptop on 29th July to Windows 10 and have been testing the upgrade to ensure I can accomplish all I wish.
When attempting the same process the following message appears on my phone "The device you're trying to send to doesn't support sharing over Bluetooth"
No settings were changed on my phone and only the upgrade was performed on my laptop. I can still transfer both photos and videos from my laptop to my mobile by selecting "send" and "Bluetooth Device". There are various workarounds but they all take more time. Thank you in anticipation of assistance
Not sure if networking is the right place for this.
My boss is having a weird issue with his Win7 workstation. Whenever he connects his iPhone, browses to the iPhone drive listed in Explorer, and opens a photo from the phone, it causes mapped network drives to start appearing. One time I saw his screen and it had every single drive letter populated C thru Z!
We run a domain server in the office with workstations, and users log in to Active Directory, which runs a login script to map Z, Y, X and U drives. There shouldn't be anything else besides those, C, D optical drive, and a few more on machines with internal card reader drives.
Anyone ever seen this happen before?

there are many ways to send photos from phones/cameras to email accounts
but these require a lot of fiddling: you have to
1. save the photos you have just taken with the phone or camera
2. then you have to open the email account through your phone
3. then you have to browse for the photos and include them as attachments to email messages.
I am looking for an app that can send copies of photos immediately from phone to email account
This could be preferably a smart phone but could be a digital camera
I would be grateful for any ideas on this.
P.S. Skype (Microsoft) recently shut down Qik, which is what I was going to us.
What OS phone or devices do you have? There are different apps for each operating system but a camera will depend on what it supports.0 more replies
As a photographer it's very handy to be able to show people my pictures on a portable device, and since I now carry an LG EnV2 phone (which has a pretty good LCD screen) I was shocked that whenever I transferred my 800x600 pixel jpgs to the phone's microSD card (or the phone itself) they wouldn't display full-screen despite all attempts to adjust the phone's settings. My girlfriend discovered that using the phone's crop function would fix it, but at the expense of cropping my work.
I spent an entire afternoon working on this, editing my pics in Photoshop and IrfanView into every possible final resolution from the onboard camera's 1600x1200 resolution on down to 320x240, but the onscreen result was always the same--a small fraction of the available viewing space.
Google searches using all manner of criteria turned up nothing.
Then I realized that the few random pics that would display full-size onscreen had been run through a program that strips the exif data (camera settings) from the jpeg, so I tried using the 'Save For Web' protocol in Photoshop to do this to my photos and it worked every time.
I don't know if this is a problem with other brands of phones or the new EnV3 but according to my Verizon tech and other sources it's an annoying glitch with the EnV2, and the solution is to strip the exif data.
Hope this helps someone.

The inner screen of the EnV2 phone is just 320 x 240 pixels. How do you expect to see 800x600 on a 320x240 screen?
If you zoom up the image, so that one picture pixel = one screen pixel, you are not going to see then entire picture (only a 320x240 portion of it).
If you show the entire 800x600 picture scaled down to fit the 320x240 screen then there will be some fuzziness involved.
I see where you mentioned that you re-sized your images down to 320x240, and yet your images were not full screen, that's weird. How about you post one of those 320x240 pictures here. I am thinking that what you think you did, and what really resulted are not the same. (Just guessing.) Otherwise it is a phone setting. Perhaps an EnV2 user here can tell you more.
I want to copy all photos to my pc. I followed this tutorial: Transfer Files via Bluetooth Between Phones & Windows 7 PCs
My menu does not have receive file. Do I need any other software?
Is this a Windows Phone 8?
If so, you could also use OPTION ONE in the tutorial below with the Windows Phone app. The Windows Phone app allows you to easily move or sync files between your Windows Phone 8 and a computer. When you install the Windows Phone app, you would just need to connect your Windows Phone 8 to your PC using a USB cable to be able sync using the app.

I use windows xp and OE. Just realized that my sent mail in OE is not being delivered even though it is sent in sent folder. Server and smtp setting are correct as per conversation with ISP. created new account in OE and sent mail still not reaching destination. So I then Set up new account in Outlook and exported all addresses and files. A few sent emails reached destinations and then same problem. Email shows sent but recipient never receives. I have run adaware, cccleaner and spybot. Turned off firewall and have no email scanning running. Please advise.
Ask your service provider to check their server it sounds like email is hanging at their end.
I am in a depute with a company regarding an email I sent. They are claiming that they did not receive it. So how likely is this to happen? What are the stats for an email going missing?
Good luck finding such statistics, or even reliable estimates. But, for your dispute, what good are probabilities? If you have no Return Receipt then you have nothing but their claim.
Because there is so much spam some messages "go missing" because a spam filter discards them, or a recipient assumes junk based on the subject or first few words or not recognizing the sender.
FWIW, if you mean mail that genuinely gets lost other than by a spam filter a dozen years ago I think it was around 1% and I think it's now about 0.1%. That's not based on data; that's based on personal experience plus never having seen anything to dispute it.
I have 2 computers on my network and I have the same email address setup on both. One uses Outlook and the other Outlook Express. It is a suddenlink.net email address.
About a week ago when I sent an email with attachment I get Your message was not delivered because the return address was refused and at the bottom it says The following attachments have been removed from the bounce message. I called suddenlink and they had me us the webmail and it worked, so they said it must be on my computer. Nothing has changed on my side, same 2 computers and same router. Most of the emails with attachments go to someone with a domain name but I have sent to them for a long time with no problem.
Any help please.
People are sending me emails and receiving a message that it was not delivered but I am getting them.
I was using another email program, unistalled it and am now using microsoft live. I have reinstalled internet explorer but still didn't help. I was having a problem with 2 firewalls running, I uninstalled the security program I was using, installed another one and that seemed to fix that problem. This error message that people are getting is making a reference to [email protected] and using % symbols.
I have been trying to fix this problem for months now and sure would appreciate any suggestions.

I have a prob in that a lot of my email that appears to have been sent has not been delivered. It seems to be mostly people with hotmail accounts...although I'm not sure if thats definitely the case.
I am using outlook express on windows XP.
I also have a prob which I am not sure is related - I keep getting web pages pop up which are undetected by my pop-up blocker (which is set to highest level). Just thought I would mention that in case its the symptoms of some kind of virus?
If someone could help me out it would be muchly appreciated
I have contacted my email/website hosting people and this is what they say (pasted below)...not sure about this....anyone got any advice?? Is he right? Arrrgh help me!!!
I'm afraid you cant really do anything about it other than switch to an ISP that allows you to send email over port 25. You could ask them if they have some kind of upgrade that will allow you to do that.
ISP's do this to prevent spam trojans. It is possible for a trojan or virus on your PC to send out thousands of emails without you knowing - so they block port 25 (which is the standard smtp port). Most hosting providers (like us) also allow mail over port 26, so that often gets around the problem. Unfortunately, Orange have blocked both ports.
Most business level packages allow mail to be sent.
If you choose to switch your provider, I would recommend http://www.nildram.net/

I am trying to download the 64 bit MS Office Home and Student 2010 and found a page with a questionable download which states , "32/64-bit, delivered via electronic distribution."
Does that mean the download can discern between the need for 32 and 64 and i do not have to go further to select.
32 bit does not work.
Does anyone know my best way to get this download either as a downoad to the pc or as an iso file. I have the product key and hope I can get the office I paid for when I migrate from Win 7 to 8 with a clean install. Office came preinstalled in my Dell who won't talk unless you pay. Should i be at dell or MS?
I sent you the download link from the Dell site where we link for Windows 7 ISO downloads.

I much prefer the format of WLM so rarely use TT webmail, but used it recently over several days to access my WLM on an Ipad.Perhaps this disrupted some settings.

All this these messages have the following address - "[email protected]" .
Till this problem, rediff was the best email client I've known. I get a whole gig for free and it is pretty fast unlike one of mr.wg's acquisitions.
Whats happening? Is there something I can do to remedy this situation?
Good day. I am using microsoft outlook 2007 on windows 7 , 64bit.
My email account is setup correct according to my service provider (in coming and outgoing settings).
When I do a "test account settings" it shows as successful.
When I send an email, it shows "send/receive complete" with no error message.
The email goes out and does not get stuck in the outbox.
PROBLEM - emails do not get delivered to the recipient.
I do receive emails.
When I use Roundcube, my e mails get delivered so this is definitely not a server problem but a problem on Microsoft Outlook.
WEIRD - when I send an email from another account to the problem account and I ask for a read receipt and reply from the problem account, the read receipt sends and get delivered from the test account.
I have 3 accounts on my laptop and I have this problem on all 3 accounts
Everything was working fine till this morning. Nothing new installed, nothing changed on laptop.
Also re-installed Office. No success.

If you still have the hidden ESD folder on your drive, it is quite easy.
Do peripheral manufacturers contract with Microsoft to deliver firmware updates via Windows updates? If not, then how are they delivered? Do people like Linksys just wait for customers to call them because their routers fail absent firmware updates?
Let's say I unplug my router for a long time and just run the data directly to my desktop from my cable modem. Wouldn't I miss firmware updates? Assuming I did, they wouldn't just load automatically when I plugged the data line back into the router, right? I would have to go to the Linksys site and download and install new firmware in the router, wouldn't I?
I hope I'm not asking too many questions, but I've rummaged around Wikipedia and run the keywords through this site and I'm still not sure about this.
Thanks for your time and consideration,
Firmware is not updated automatically, it has to be downloaded and only if it addresses a problem you have
Rule of thumb with firmware is if your hardware is working correctly don't update the firmware.
If you install it incorrectly you can render your hardware useless,

Everyone else that i send mail to on the same message got the attachment on the first attempt.
The attachments are simple 30K Word documents.
I have no idea as to her security settings on either XP or NAV & if this is a problem or not.
She claims that she is only having this problem we me & one other co-worker.

Its either just incoming spam, or its being forwarded from an infected computer (not yours) that grabs addresses at random (from the infected PC address book) and in this case uses your address (because its there, possibly it's a friends PC) as the false "from:" field and sends it to every other address it can find.

This is VERY common on the web these days.

My main PC is up to date but I have two other PCs to update to the Windows anniversary edition, so I proceeded to do so using Windows Update. However I realised that the un-updated PC was downloading the update from the internet, even though both computers are set to transfer updates over the network. Both computers are connected to a router with gigabit ethernet so it should be much faster than downloading over the internet but that isn't happening.
Please help, I don't want to have to redownload the anniversary update twice more, especially since I have Australian internet.
We continue to have problems with our email not being delivered or not being delivered in a timely fashion. We can send an email and it may never reach the recipient and it does not get bounced back to us so we don't know that there was a problem. We can send one email to multiple recipients, and it may be delivered to all of them, one of them or none of them. We have this problem sending to people within the company as well as people with different domains. These can be new emails, forwards or a reply to a previous email. A reoccurring problem, usually when emailing someone outside the company, the two people can be emailing back and forth and the email may suddenly be marked as spam (by the email server outside the company) and returned to the sender. There is nothing consistent with the issues, the users, emails with attachments, or the email client. We are out of things to look at for possible causes and our email host (a reseller) is out of suggestions for possible resolutions. The issue is impacting our business because we never know if our emails are reaching our clients.

My new Thinkpad with Win7 and AMD processor was delivered with a faulty operating system. The problem is that Windows update does not work. If you search for updates it will search forever and not return anything found. It also states that last search was "never" and last update was "never". However, it appears that it was loaded with 64 bit Win7 service pack 1 and updated March 28, 2016 with a March 16, 2016 cumlative update. My guess is that something in the update broke the update function. Does anybody know the fix for this problem. I can not be the only person with this problem. Is there a known Lenovo fix for the broken OS? This is a critical error considering the pace of security updates coming in recently. ThanksCharlesMore replies

Malware delivered by Yahoo, Fox, Google ads
by Elinor Mills
These charts show incidences of malware distributed by a number of ad delivery platforms over a six-day period last month that were detected by Avast. Yahoo and Fox have the highest counts.
Malware that exploits holes in popular applications is being delivered by big ad delivery platforms including those run by Yahoo, Fox, and Google, according to Prague-based antivirus firm Avast.
Viruses and other malware were found to be lurking in ads last year on high-profile sites like The New York Times and conservative news aggregator Drudge Report.com, and this year on Drudge, TechCrunch and WhitePages.com. The practice has been dubbed "malvertising."
Now, researchers at Avast are pointing fingers at some large ad delivery platforms including Yahoo's Yield Manager and Fox Audience Network's Fimserve.com, which together cover more than 50 percent of online ads, and to a much smaller degree Google's DoubleClick. In addition, some of the malicious ads ended up on Yahoo and Google sites, Avast claims.

Microsoft is planning to revamp their update delivery method in Windows 10 by implementing peer-to-peer (P2P) technology. Traditionally Windows updates have been delivered through Microsoft's servers only, but by switching to P2P, the load on their servers can be decreased...
This can only be a good thing. I really struggle to get Windows updates during normal office hours, after 18H00 it's a breeze.
I am guessing that many of you know the answer to this - so please share.
It is a recent problem as up to a week ago all was fine.
When I receive a Hotmail message with an attachment I can view the attachment OK.
Then when I 'Forward' the message with the attachment the receiver doesn't get the attachment.

Yet another type of ransomware has been detected by malware researchers. Dubbed AlphaCrypt, it appropriates the look of TeslaCrypt, but operates similarly to Cryptowall 3.0.
"While this may look identical to TeslaCrypt it does have some improvements like deleting the VSS to make sure you aren?t saved by your shadow volume," Webroot researchers shared. It also makes sure to execute the process quietly (i.e. that no messages are shown to the victim.
The criminals are asking for the ransom to be paid in Bitcoin, which ensures anonymity and easy laundering of the money via Bitcoin mixers.
"The volatitlity of this variant is quite high since it creates new instances of common windows processes to do the encryption routine to try and be as covert as possible and is extremely similar to how Cryptowall 3.0 operates," the researchers noted.

I have a newly delivered Inspiron 7559. First boot was successful, but it stopped working as soon as Windows Update downloaded the first driver update. It's not worked since in spite of multiple factory resets. I've tracked it down to the NVIDIA driver which is blue screening with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION errors
1) ePSA hardware tests pass
2) Doing a reset with the shipped factory image ends up in BSOD / reboot loop during setup after the image has been applied (with network disconnected)
3) Doing a reset from a downloaded Dell USB recovery image for this system (with network connected) ends up in BSOD / reboot loop during setup after updates are downloaded
4) Doing a reset from a downloaded Dell USB recovery image for this system (with network disconnected) works and boots up with generic Microsoft Basic Display Driver.4a) if Windows Update or automatic driver download is left enabled system blue screens when driver updates are downloaded
4b) if Windows Update and automatic driver download is disabled, then system is stable (using Microsoft Basic Display Driver). System stays stable after installing all recommended updates from Dell Driver Detect (NVIDIA driver isn't listed by Dell Driver Detect and device remains as Unknown in Device Manager after Dell Driver Detect finishes). Seeing as W8.1 has "Flash Player" and a PDF reader as part of the OS I wondered how updates for these are delivered. Are they delivered via the normal Windows Update channel or are they as before (in W7/Vista) where the application/s are non OS related and updates are via the appropriate companies own update system ?
I think Flash for Internet Explorer are through Windows Update.

Only a few days ago I realised that both my computers (windows 8.1) had live tiles enabled in the metro interface, and that they had been downloading things for them (various new pictures to be displayed on the tiles, and alos adverts for apps available in windows' store. I disabled the live tiles (there was only one, the windows store) on both machines as soon as I realised this. So they won't be wasting any more of my bandwidth downloading png pictures of apps I don't care about.
This however got me thinking: If the windows store shows adverts, and these adverts are shown (atleast in some sense) through the live tiles, then could these tiles end up distributing viruses? As far as I could tell the only things be downloaded (and wasting a small amount of my bandwidth) were png images, but part of me wonders if flash animations (with hidden exploits) or exe files could be downloaded and run like this? Has this ever happened yet? I have no particular cause to think it has happened to me but the fact that these tiles exist like this and do what they do makes me think it could happen some day? If it could then that would be a huge problem waiting to happen, viruses delivered through a running function on a computer that most people would never even think to look at.
Would it be possible? Has it ever happened yet? The same concern would probably affect windows 10 as well, because it too has live tiles.
Tile images are usually hosted by programs so in order to get malicious one would require you to install one of those. You can still create one of your own and for example poll data from
website. It usually involves downloading image and small config file. In this case the host is IE.
Technically it could be possible to send some malformed config which then uses some vulnerability within system itself in order to inject malicious code. Still would still require you or some other program in your computer to create new live tile. I don't think it would be very useable case since you already have an access to the system at that point.
I don't think its going to be any less secure then just surfing over web. Microsoft controls Windows Store so there shouldn't be any problem with that matter of malicious data being send over their channels.
If there were some major security issues with this I think they would have been noticed at this point. But this is majorly just speculation on my part.
So as Didier Stevens pointed out, live tile hosts(Apps) are run inside sandbox environment. Most malicious active would require to escape that sandbox or use
some other exploit. As with the regular programs, user discretion is still advised when installing apps.
I love my Lenovo laptop. Over-the-top, love my Lenovo. I purchased my Edge 2-in-1 July 2015. In the spring of 2016 the keyboard no longer worked while the computer was in laptop mode, it only worked in tent mode. It?s a bit tricky typing that way so I contacted technical support and was impressed with their diligence in trying to resolve my issue over the phone. In addition to my keyboard issues, the screen intermittently turned shades of green and pink. I was told I needed to send my computer in for service, so I had my laptop carefully packaged and mailed via UPS on June 29th. My laptop was received by Lenovo on July 1st. I was able to conveniently track the status of my repair online. The repair was completed on July 14th and shipped out that day as well. Very happy customer. Then, on July 18th, my laptop was delivered to a home in Tampa, Florida. I live in South Carolina. It?s my understanding my computer was left on a doorstep without a signature required, so it's safe to assume that the person who has my computer is not giving it back. Within 72 hours I was contacted by a case manager. Because my laptop is no longer available, a replacement was offered that I was okay with, with one exception. I was told the warranty for my replacement laptop would be the remainder of my existing warranty which ends in 44 days. Considering I started having problems with my laptop at eight months of use, I am&nbs... Read moreMore replies
I installed Win10 Pro from the Media Creation Tool with my valid Product Key and looks like I am running the latest build called Threshold-2. Please can someone verify this below?
10.0.10586 N/A Build 10586
My question is, whenever Microsoft releases a major update for Win10 like Service Packs or whatever its going to be called, will that be updated through the Windows Update section within my current build of Win10 or will MS be continuously updating the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool?
Here is a Scenario >>>
Lets say or suppose that MS will release Windows 10.1 in the future (who knows)...
If so, will I have to purchase another copy of a DVD with Windows 10.1 on it or will that also be updated through the Media Creation Tool or through Windows Updates?
So basically, I want to know how these new major updates or Service Pack releases be delivered when running Win10.
For the time being..................
Insider Preview builds will be released to Insiders through Windows Update.
The current build is 11082.
For Windows 10 RTM version.....................
New Windows 10 version will be released via Windows Update and Media Creation Tool and also through Tench Bench.
The current version is 10586.36

I have Vista Home Premium with Microsoft Photo Gallery on my Dell Inspriron 1721 laptop. I?m using a machine to transfer slides to a SD card then uploading them to Photo Gallery. Photos transfer Ok except the order of the photo gets scrambled somehow during upload. In other words, the photos on the SD card are in chronologically order but after uploading, when I view them in Photo Galley, the order is all mixed up. I know you can manual move them around but it?s hard to be sure of the original order and it is very time consuming when you have hundreds of photos. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix them. FYI I would call myself a novice user of Photo Gallery.
Will the Photo Gallery sort by name? You could prefix the photo names with numerical sequence. A utility like
Introduction - Bulk Rename Utility will do it easily. It's free.
Edit: if that looks too busy, the multi-renamer in FreeCommander is a bit simpler to use. [c] before the name prepends a number starting at what you select and incrementing by what you choose. Just press F2 when in the folder.
My sister has photos of me in my bridesmaid dress that she took with her camera. I saved them on my computer.
I am going out of town to see our family, and cannot take the computer, but want to show the pictures. I will have my camera.
I tried transferring the photos to my camera's memory card by changing their file names to the same type of name as the photos that were taken with my camera. They are displayed as DSCN0610, so I renamed the photos as DSCN0700 and so on. Then I put my memory card in the driver, (G drive) opened up the drive, opened the folder where the pictures from my camera were, and dragged the newly renamed photos into that folder.
I put the memory card back in my camera and hit the display button, and the message I am getting for the spots where those files are is "File contains no image data."
What did I do wrong? What do I do?
Information - My camera is a Nikon Coolpix.

Or, are you using Google SSL: https://encrypted.google.com/
Use the normal Google: www.google.com
If that's not it,

If still no luck,

Some of the web's bigger websites were flooded with a torrent of malicious banner ads after cyber crooks managed to sneak them onto syndication services operated by Google, Yahoo, and a third company, according to a security firm.
The ads - which attacked previously-patched vulnerabilities in Adobe's PDF Reader and Microsoft's DirectShow - starting appearing on sites such as the DrudgeReport, horoscope.com and lyrics.com last Friday, ScanSafe researcher Mary Landesman told The Register. They were delivered over networks belonging to Google's DoubleClick; Right Media'sYield Manager (owned by Yahoo); and Fastclick, owned by an outfit called ValueClick.

I have a laptop running Vista which came with some Google Gadgets. Initially the Photos gadget was working fine. As I decided to get my new computer organized (a mildly OCD thing to do ) I rearranged the folders that my photos were kept in. I noticed that NONE of my photos were appearing in the sidebar any longer so I clicked the link to 'add photos' and remapped to the My Pictures folder. This didn't help so I remapped to a deeper folder in order to get it closer to the photos. This didn't work so I remapped it down to a specific folder that doesn't have any folders in it. It only contains photos. Lo and behold... It didn't work. So... I searched the internet and found one question like mine with no answer following it. Needless to say, what looks like it should be a fairly straight forward adjustment has not been so. Please, what button am I not pushing to fix this?...

Microsoft Photos app gets updated - save still photos from videos and more
I have some problems with my iPod and I don't know if it started after I installed something or not, but this is what's wrong:
- The camera of my iPod starts and then crashes, OR sometimes if I start it it can take one picture and then the black screen with the white turning thing (which you also get when you turn off the iPod) and then it returns to the home screen
- The images app also doesn't start up. If I tap it, it opens but before the text ''camera roll'' and that stuff is loaded, it crashes.
- When my iPod is cabled (i know thats not a word) to my pc, a windows window appears for importing the photos on the ipod to the computer with windows. when I click import, the blue screen appears on my pc and luckily it can start up again. it happens every time. now that's not a very big problem.
- in itunes when i connect my ipod, a bar with some different colors appears, right? to show how much space apps, photo's, books, music and stuff you are using on your ipod. the problem is that there are no photos and i swear i had like 1 gig of photos on my ipod. i hope theyre not gone.
i couldn't find the email support on apple's website so i ask you.
how do i solve these things?
Wondering if it's a problem with the new version of Firefox (32.0.1). Since I've had the new version when I upload photos to an antique website, I see the broken image icon. In Facebook, the photos just never show up. I also can't attach photos to emails, they just don't upload. I haven't changed any plug-ins and I don't have any extensions. This doesn't happen in IE. Any advice or suggestions?
Just a thought: suggest starting Firefox in Safe Mode to see if it's caused by an extension.
Hope this helps.

Craigslist email problems may not be your fault!
I feel my craigslist emails are being intercepted. I feel New Ghosted e-mail delivery may being implemented by craigslist.
I feel Craigslist is censoring e-mails. I have repeatedly confirmed sellers aren't getting my enquiries, (after contacting the seller by their posted phone numbers to ask them).
I feel - there are a number of reasons craigslist will intercept and not deliver your e-mails.
1. You mat be considered a Spammer - I've discovered that if I e-mail more than one post, (e-mailing different people who have the exact item I want), only the first e-mail I send actually gets to the seller. I feel that any additional e-mails I send in the same session are considered spam and are not delivered. After some research, I see a possible correlation with the length of your email and it's interpretation as spam.
2. Censorship - After attempting to add a note to a post saying that I would be answering all emails containing my password and explaining that I feared that craigslist was interfering with some e-mail deliveries, my post was instantly deleted by their automated staff. I even tried disguising this theory disclosure by changing the word craigslist to "crags". It didn't work. Instantly deleted. (and I mean less than 5 seconds). Note: Removing this comment resulted in immediate approval of my post.
I feel their enhanced keyword capabilities for automatic deletion may also affect mail deli... Read more

On a new install of 7 I have dual monitors and the built-in photos screensaver is displaying photos in the middle of the field which usually means that the photo is shown in the secondary monitor but if it is too big for the secondary monitor it is partially split on both monitors. If it is a bug in photos screensaver is there a thrid party screensaver that does a better job at using photos as a screensaver? I have a 21" builtin monitor that is my primary display. My sister recently got engaged, I took loads of photos of the big night, stuck them on the PC and cleared the memory card. Upon actually looking at them, they are all corrupted - they appear to have mixed with other pictures.

A lot of the software I have come across is designed to recoved lost files rather than repair corrupt images - can someone please help!?!

We're about to upgrade to Office 2016 here, I'll see if I can bring this up to the Security Team so it can get implemented when the time comes to change.

Microsoft said a highly suspicious Windows update that was delivered to customers around the world was the result of a test that wasn't correctly implemented.
"We incorrectly published a test update and are in the process of removing it," a Microsoft spokesperson wrote in an e-mail to Ars. The message included no other information.
The explanation came more than 12 hours after people around the world began receiving the software bulletin through the official Windows Update, raising widespread speculation that Microsoft's automatic patching mechanism was broken or, worse, had been compromised to attack end users. Fortunately, now that Microsoft has finally weighed in, that worst-case scenario can be ruled out. What follows is the remainder of this post as it appeared before the company issued its explanation.

Here's a totally fictitious statement from the same company:
We got hacked, and after working frantically all day, we think we are on top of it.
I really find it odd, for example, how deafening the silence is from the major banks that they have ever had any net related security breaches. Millions of dollars have been stolen. They will, of course, never admit such a thing. It would be too damaging to their claims of security.
Would Microsoft admit there was a vulnerability in their update service that was exploited? Would they even state unequivocally that the P2P implementation was flawless security wise?
Do you work for Microsoft or a company that does work for Microsoft?
This is something that has been bugging me for a while now, and I've been unable to solve this problem. Perhaps someone out there can provide some guidance.
Sometimes, I'm unable to print things (such as online coupons) because I'm told that my printer is set to "Keep Printed Documents." I've tried disabling this setting via the Advanced tab under the printer's properties. However, when I do this, click Apply then OK, and close the tab, the setting automatically reverts back to "Keep Printed Documents". Does anyone know why this is happening? It's sort of frustrating to not be able to set the printer settings the way you choose.
I appreciate any tips/suggestions you might have. Thanks!
