I am trying to turn off the speaker enhancements in the preinstalled Dell Audio bloatware, and the program will not let me turn them off. I have clicked the toggle next to the speaker enhancement, but it automatically switches it back on again. I am able to turn off the microphone enhancement, but not the speaker one. Is there anyways that anyone knows how to correct this?
Try refreshing the driver.Open device manager- expand sound video – right click on the audio driver & click on uninstall (do not check the box that says delete driver)Restart the computer & check if you can disable the option. If the issue persists, download audio driver from www.support.dell.com ( enter your service tag) download & install audio driver.2 more replies
Just got my computer back from Dell tech support having sent it because of an issue with no audio output device installed and the red x on the toolbar. The computer is in the exact same state as before I sent it with nothing fixed. I've tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times, checked if audio services were running and all of that. Feels like a huge waste of money at this point and is especially disappointing because this computer was actually a gift for someone. Has anyone had this issue with this computer and have it resolved without resorting to an external usb sound driver?
You can diagnose this by performing a system recovery (reset the laptop back to the original factory configuration.) If there is still no audio immediately after recovery, before getting on the internet, then the audio hardware has failed and Dell will have to fix it under the terms of the warranty. In other words they could not say it is a software issue and therefore not covered.
If the recovery does fix it, but the problems recurs after getting on the internet, then probably some Windows Updates-related issue.
Hi all I recently got the i7 version of this laptop and noticed that the speakers rattle a bit when vocals are being played and the headphone jack makes everything sound like it has REVERB added to it...??? It sounds like I'm in a chamber. I updated everything, anything I can do or no?
1 week now. Anything or should I call? This is terrible.2 more replies
Hi, I can't seem to get anything higher than 1920x1080 in the list of available resolution options when I connect my Dell U2713HM monitor to my Dell Inspiron 15 laptop. I've run this monitor at 2560x1440 on another laptop over HDMI in the past but that was with Windows 8. The Intel HD Graphics 530 Control Panel doesn't offer any resolutions above 1920x1080 for the external monitor and adding custom resolutions results in the error "the custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity". I'm using the same high speed HDMI cable that worked at 2560x1440 with this monitor on my previous laptop. I'm fully up to date on all of the drivers for the laptop.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not sure what else to try. Could this be a Windows 10 issue? Should I try the standard Intel HD Graphics 530 drivers from the Intel website?
The hardware on the system supports the 2560x1440. It should be a software issue. I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the video card driver from Dell website as these drivers are tested on the Dell system. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the video card.
Press the Windows key and Start typing devmgmt.msc and then press enter.
Select the Display adapters listed and right click on it.
Now select properties.
In the properties window, under Driver tab, click on Uninstall button.
Check “Delete the driver software for this device.”
You want to delete the driver click OK.
After the uninstall finishes restart the system. Then reinstall the Intel video card driver for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the video card drivers from Video section onto the system and install it.
Please let me know if this helps.
I have two issues. the first one i have seen it in another post but i didn't see some kind of a solution. I have the latest drivers in my inspiron 7559 and i have this issues:
1) My laptop fans are awake long time after i quit any game. Especially GPU demanding games. If i press the sleep button and i wake it up again fans doesn't awake up again. This is a strange issue. i have the 1.1.7 BIOS version.
2) My laptop for some reason is getting freeze at any situation. Last 2 weeks happened 3 times. One time happened in youtube and the other 2 in EDGE browser, and i couldnt move nothing. Neither the cursor.
I dont have any other problems with my laptop. All seems to be fine. But i dont know with these issues i start to think some negatives thoughts...,
Any help please?
I bought the laptop mentioned in the title, the Inspiron 17 7559, a little under 3 months ago for school as well as some gaming. A couple days before I spoke with tech support the cpu fan (fan on left side if you're looking at the top of the laptop and are in front of it) began making a horrible grinding/squealing noise.A little background: before going to school, I spent a decade as field technician on both military advanced electronic systems and production-class robotics systems. So I opened the back panel just to glance at the fan, see if maybe there was a glaring physical abnormalities, as the fan was clearly grinding on something and when it kicked into high would be scraping fast and hard enough to produce this noise.
I open the back cover, a screw falls out from its happy little home (which is, needless to say, both Not A Good Thing and Ominously Foreboding), followed by the shorn threading which had come from another screw. Also, three or four screws were VERY loose. Which explained why the case had begun to separate near where the monitor pivots attach to the case. Completely structural screws. I tightened those up a bit, but didn't mess with any screws in the component housing area, as thos can have specific torque settings and such, and overtightening can do real damage. As for the fan, its sitting a millimeter or so lower in its housing than the other, and even the slight spinning it did while I t... Read more
I bought the new gaming laptop Dell Inspiron 7559 with the service tag JJXL1D2. This laptop didn't have windows, only ubuntu. Yesterday I checked BIOS, I left my choice on Legacy between Legacy and UEFI and windows 10 Pro was installed by myself from usb. After installation of OS I downloaded all drivers, included for BIOS and that's all were installed.
After all this full inspection was carried out (40 minutes) and noone problem didn't find. What's a problem? After reboot of my laptop and shut down and start my mouse Razer Naga is not working. I disconnected it and connect again and it working. After each reboot my USB are not working. BIOS returned to default settings, USB wake support and USB debug are enabled. What's a problem? Is it problem with new driver for BIOS?

And also the second question: I installed Dell Power manager lite. Is it help for battery to save in good condition my batteru automatically or I must to do something? I like to play games and my laptop will be connected to the electrical power everytime.

Recently a Dell technician replaced the internal subwoofer of my laptop as it doesn't work anymore. I asked him why it died and simply gave me an "I don't know sir." answer. Can you give me any advise to keeping my sub from dieing again?
However, cheers for the dell support, for fast response for parts replacement. :D
I bought a Dell Inspiron 7559 notebook with Windows 10 64-bits installed on it. The user experience is really poor. The system is lag. After system power on, CPU frequency is locked at 0.78GHz. And, no way to make it higher. The only way to get the CPU frequency back to 3.0GHz is system reboot. However, it down to 0.78GHz sooner.
After some google on this issue, somebody said it can be solved if restore the BIOS to older version(v1.0.1). It really solved this issue. The CPU speed with BIOS v1.0.1 seems normal. But, I don't think is a good way to use older BIOS. I've also try BIOS v1.0.3 , v1.0.4, v1.1.3, v1.1.5, v1.1.7. None of them can help on this issue.
If it is not your Motherboard, it might as well be the CPU itself.
Now you really need to contact customer support.
On a side note: there are things that could be causing your CPU to be limited, I'm thinking one of the reasons might be power setting, hard drives or error in the software.
But that was before looking up again on the web.
Here is an post wit similar problem, <superuser.com/.../why-is-my-cpu-speed-lower-than-it-should-be>
If your problem persist, Customer Support is needed, keep in mind, it might just be your CPU, not all parts will function 100%. Thus constant testing is needed. Also, as long your warranty cover this problem if the CPU is busted, in rare cases.
I opened my new Inspiron 7559 today, after updating all the drivers including the NVIDIA one, so I installed league of legends, upon playing the first game, I noticed my FPS was around 130 and would cap around there, I found this odd as the laptop I had returned before this was an older model by Dell and it ran the game completely fine at 215 FPS another thing I noticed is the game would freeze randomly, overall it feels like my laptop isn't keeping up even though it has really good specs, what is the possible issue?
EDIT: Last night the game completely froze and I had to manually turn off my laptop and back on again.
I have the same problem with my Inspiron 15 7559 playing The Division. Game hangs with fans at full speed and laptop won't turn off even when holding down the power button for more than 10 seconds. How do I manually turn off the laptop? It's still running as i type...2 more replies
Hello guys!!I just installed Windows 10 on my Dell Inspiron 7559 laptop and I have a problem.
Can anyone send me a color profile? I tried something found on the internet, but the colors are still a problem for my eyes...I tried to calibrate colors from Intel HD Graphics driver, but also unsuccesfully. My screen is
KFKV0LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 15.6FHD, IN PLANE SWITCHING, AG, EDP1.2, LEGEND
The screen seems yellowish.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I have recently purchased the 7559. The computer rocks but the touchpad is way too unresponsive.I just can not find in the settings anywhere that mentions the touchpad so I can attempt to adjust sensitivity
I would really appreciate a direct download to the drivers.
So I Noticed my laptop has stopped charging,"AC Adapter Can Not Be Recognized" I have the Dell 130w power supply plugged in and it refuses to charge I have tried the dell fix it (take the adapter apart and back in) that has not worked, so i thought hey its the "Dell Power Management" that is stopping my laptop from charging.... WHY can I not disable it?? Dell own bad software is stopping my laptop from detecting its AC cable and the same software is "protecting my laptop" by stopping it from charging. How do I get a new AC cable or how do I disable the Software?

Hi All, I recently got a Dell Inspiron 7559. It came with a 8GB Skhynix "hmt41gs6bfr8a-pb no aa 1506" RAM stick. I'd like to upgrade it to 16GB. I thought I had bought the same 8GB RAM model from ebay, but I had received an 8 GB Skhynix "hmt41gs6bfr8a-pb na aa 1511". Are they two completely different models because of their different nomenclature? Can I still use it to upgrade my ram? Thank you
There's only one memory socket on this model, so an 8G isn't going to get you an upgrade. You need a 16G module to upgrade.
These are available, but brace yourself of the price - they're expensive:
(as you can see, going from 8G to 16 causes the price of a module to rise by a factor about five).
Hi, I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 7559, with the 2 year warranty, but the problem is it only has an HDD, and I wanted to install a SSD, and possibly a 8GB DDR3, but my question is will doing this void the warranty, on the bottom of the laptop there is no sticker saying it will.
Why Active State Power Management is not supported on Dell 7559? Any plans to fix this with BIOS update?
In Windows if I do powercfg /energy it reports the following:
Platform Power Management Capabilities:PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) Disabled
PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) has been disabled due to a known incompatibility with the hardware in this computer.

Hi, i have an Inspiron 15 7559. Last week my battery was damaged and can't use it anymore, since then I have low fps while gaming (gta v, witcher 3, etc.), I've read there is a kind of throttling when there is no battery, maybe the turbo boost is not being enabled.
Is there a way I can make the laptop work again like before, I can't buy a new battery yet because I live in Peru and is hard to find this battery model.
I have a new Dell Inspiron 7559:
I use it for work, mainly translation tools, and also for some ocasional gaming (Witcher 3, Cities skylines, etc.).
So I was thinking on maybe upgrading it a bit, but as I´m on a budget I can only afford upgrading the ram up to 16GB or to buy an SSD of 250GB, what would you suggest to upgrade?, which of both would have more impact on the performance?.
Thank you very much!
If it's running a conventional (or hybrid) hard drive, the SSD will make much more of an overall impact than the memory upgrade.1 more replies
Sorry for the newbie questions here.
I just bought a 7559 from the outletstore. IT has a 107GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. I am running in to the problem of as I install my programs to the computer (Photoshop, lightroom, MS office, etc.) All of the program files are being loaded onto the SDD drive and quickly filling it up. Doing this does not create a happy world. In response I have taken the following actions.
1. Went to the settings>storage window and set the apps to be loaded onto the HDD (D) drive.
2. Done the same thing for the Music files
3. I tried doing this for the Documents and Pictures, setting the files to be placed onto the HDD (D) drive. It doesn't work. IT keeps reverting to the One Drive.
4. Removed as many recently in stalled programs as possible.
1.Newly installed Apps keep getting placed onto the SDD (C) drive. (Firefox, Foxit, etc.)
2. My documents can only be loaded onto the SDD drive. Not okay I have way too many files for this option.
3. I am okay with not using the OneDrive if needed.
4. I tried the help desk and the guys said to put everything on the OS drive, the (C) SDD. I took this as a way of just getting rid of me.
HELP!! I have projects due and I need to get to work. I need y computer.
My dell inspiron 15 7559 wont shut off, the keyboard stopped working, the mouse and trackpad stopped working and the power button wont shut the computer off. Please advise on how to turn it off.
I suggest you contact Technical Support for assistance in the link below:
If Dell doesn't answer your question then I suggest you( or a very good friend) remove the battery, press the " Power On" button for 20 seconds, install battery, adapter, and then power on the system. Hopefully your computer function well now.
I have a Dell 5548 with a 1080p touch screen, Core i5 5th Gen and 12GB RAM. After the upgrade to windows 10 from windows 8.1 my laptop has been facing numerous issues. The major ones are as follows:
1)The speakers are not working properly. While playing video or music the volume goes from loud to soft at a given volume setting as in its playing at a particular volume then after a few seconds the volume suddenly goes down than again after a few seconds it goes to its original volume and the cycle repeats itself, which is pretty annoying.
2) To make matters worse then earphone/headphone jack is too tight. The pin does go in to a certain degree after which if you apply force there is a cracking sound and seems that it will break if i apply pressure. Eve after that it wont go in.
3)My laptop has Intel's Real Sense Camera. It works fine as a webcam but its depth and other sensors don"t seem to work. It is detected but in games there is no response from these sensors while the game awaits its response. Likewise I can't even complete the Windows Hello setup where it doesn't move on when it tells me to place my face in the center; I keep placing my face in the center but it deosnt respond from there on.
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.
So I bought a Dell Inspiron i7559-2512BLK off Amazon, it's completely new and have been using it for a couple of days onlyI tried to update everything possible, windows updates and drivers as wellNow the problem is, when I game on it, my CPU fries ! it averages between 80-90 and even maxes up to 98-99 !! (Room temperature is not bad .. AC turned on making the room ~25c)My GPU however stays pretty cool, never exceeds 75c at all I don't feel like the fans are actually working hard, cannot hear them, so if there's a way to check for the fans, I would appreciate it (I did test it with the offline diagnosis -F12 Boot- and they passed the test just fine)
And any help in general would be appreciatedPS : the choice of getting it to the service center is not available as it's bought in the US and I'm in the middle east currently

Hello,Got the Dell Inspiron 15-7559Standard with 100 gb 2,5 inch HDD.Inserted a Kingston 2.5 inch HDD, works fine. Now days later I also inserted a M.2. Sata SSD. Both Disks work. But when selectign legacy boot and first selecting the second HDD it does not boot up the 2nd HDD. It gives an error message saying boot.msgr is missing.Tried :- Legacy mode, Secure mode on and off- Turning back to Uefi mode with secure mode on and off- Legacy mode and all kidns or boot orders. When I press F12 at startup and go to boot selection and select 2nd HDD, there is no problem, it boots up my 2.5 inch ssd no problem. Now I installed windows also on my M.2. Sata SSD and this one boots up fine in legacy mode. No issues at all. But also now when setting 2nd HDD first it still boots up the m.2. And once again manually selecting the 2nd HDD at startup works fine.I would like to use the 2.5inch ssd as boot device and the M.2. sata as storage.I have my reasons for this lol. :) Can anybody supply me with some advice/help?Thanks in advance!More replies
We purchased the 7559 in May 2016 and have been having problems since then. Several attempts to get this addressed with no luck. Numerous driver loads/reloads/reconfigurations. The diagnostics show "no problems", and now Dell Tech Support is saying that it's a software issue requiring a software warrany for an additional charge (before we can ship it back for repair).
Definitely my last Dell given the effort they put into not addressing the issue.
Has anyone else seen this problem on the 7559 (4k or otherwise)? Did Dell support the issue? And if so how? (Please not another "new" driver)? I have a few months on the warranty and have tired of the technical support that doesn't help.
Hi.I have an Inspirion 7559, only with a combined jack audio port. I would like to use my headset, which has 2 jack (speakers, and microphone) so I just bought an adapter like this. When I connect it, and set in Dell Audio as a "headset (with microphone)" the speakers works, but barely: only the right speaker has sound, so I have to move the jack a bit out to work fine. Furthermore, the microphone doesn't work at all, when I checking the input sound (in Teamspeak, or Steam) it only gives loud strange - static noise.
I have checked the windows audio options, there is only one recording tool which is the Realtek High Definiton Audio, but when I disconnect my headset from my computer, it is still there. The headset and the adapter cable works fine with other computers. What can be the problem?

I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 7559 a month ago. The first week it was amazing with no problems at all.
Then when I was working on it, left it plugged in and left is for a while, then came back to it after 1 hour or so, I noticed that the battery was discharging.
Did not mind it until it went to "plugged in, charging" 0% and it shut off completely.
I tried to turn it on several times and it did not turn on.
Called Dell service center and advised to remove the battery. I cannot remove the battery completely because of the screw type but managed to remove the cables.
I turn it back on and it worked again. But after a few days the probem kept recurring.
Its going like "plugged in, charging" but it is not charging. Or "1 hour 05minutes to full charge" but after an hour it will be "1 hour 40minutes to full charge". I mean what gives.
Have done all that was advised in the internet but not hing is working.
I have done restart task manager, uninstall API, and all that, but the problem is recurring.
BIOS was updated recently also. So is it hardware of software.
Please help for anymore ideas?
Its brand new, it rocks when it is working, but I dont have the patience to kept on checking for hte battery status. It is getting annoying also.
Are you using an original Dell OEM Adapter? When you plug in the adapter to the system, does the adapter stay firm or does it fall off easily? Is the adapter frayed? Is there any damage on the system? Could you test with another power adapter if possible?
Restart the system and press f2 key to enter BIOS - check the adapter status in BIOS with and without the adapter plugged in. Also, wiggle the adapter cable at the end and see if the status changes in BIOS at any point. Check the battery health in BIOS (if applicable).
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.
Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.
Let us know if you have any other queries.
Hello, I'm having a small problem with my new Dell laptop.
I can't find the option where I could set my keyboard backlight to stay on constantly. It keeps falling asleep (turning off) after a short period of time. It is really annoying late in the evening as I always have to wake it up. Is there any way I could turn off the automatic sleep mode or atleast prolong it?

I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 laptop about a week or so ago and several days later realised some odd USB transfer behaviour. Tried all 3 different usb3.0 ports, same problem.
(Bios was updated immediately after cloning hdd to m.2 ssd and all drivers updated.)
(I swapped the 1TB hybrid drive with a Samsung 850EVO and installed an m.2 Samsung 850EVO) (OS and most files on the m.2 drive)
External hard disk: Transfer of large sizes or even a single large file (GoPro video near 4gb) occurred rather erratically (fluctuating between 90+ and 40+ mb/s) and eventually reaching 0mb/s and pausing there for quite awhile before transferring again at fluctuating speeds, sometimes reaching 0 and pausing again. File transfer completes eventually, but after a ridiculously long time.
The same hard disk works fine with my desktop (writes at a steady 90+mb/s)
External ssd: transfers for awhile before reaching 0 and giving an error code. (works fine with my desktop) (error code: 0x8000745D)
Thumb drive: writes fine at 90-100+mb/s, just like my desktop.
Notes: File transfer problems mentioned above were from both the m.2 drive and 2.5mm drive, internal transfer from the m.2 to the 2.5mm Samsung 850EVO ran fine. Samsung Magician installed, problems persist with RAPID either enabled or disabled.
Solutions I've tried but have not made a difference:
Chkdsk /f /r
Booting into safe mode (transfer problems existed even in safe mode)
Uninstalling and reinstalling usb drivers

I have brand new a Dell Inspiron 7559 (Core i5 model) which i received 2 days ago. The inbuilt speakers work fine. But when I plug in my earphones, the is sound only on the left side and a very faint sound on the right one. When I check the left and right sound in the sound properties, both the test sounds appear on the left side only. The earphones I am using are Klipsch R6. And here are no issues with the earphones since they work perfectly with my phone and other Dell Inspiron laptop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My 7559 laptop is still relatively new but I feel like ever since an update in June it's been acting strange. It froze for no reason and wouldn't shut off when I held the power button. I had to unplug it and let the battery die. When I restarted everything was fine so I ran McAfee got nothing and moved on.
That said, ever since it can't seem to handle sleep mode as well as it use too. I was able to leave it on for a few weeks at a time and now I feel like I have to turn it off daily or it's Memory goes up. It's also frozen once since the initial freeze but that time it actually let me hold the power to turn it off.
I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one experiencing this. I think it's the update that caused it, but I don't really have any proof other than McAfee hasn't found anything. I've been keeping the task manager up to keep an eye out but the only things that are noticeable are System and Compressed memory and McAfee. Well those and Chrome but chrome's always been a hog.
I can deal with it for now, but I'm hoping there will be an update or something to fix it. I'm really just posting to see if anyone else has experienced this or something similar.
There is no need to wait until the battery runs down to turn off a frozen laptop nowadays. Simply hold down the power button until it shuts off. It will take 30-40 seconds.
You can uninstall updates if you think there is a bad update. Open Settings, Update, Advanced Options, View update History, Uninstall updates. Not all updates can be uninstalled but some can. You should also check the Event Viewer for clues as to what might be hanging up the computer.
As the title says how exactly do you achieve this?
I have an ISO Ran RUFUS 2.6
GPT Partition Scheme for UEFI
X Quick Format
X Create a bootable disk using
X Create Extended label and Icon Files
so the next part is the Kicker Dell did a number on their Bios and rather than using standard logic as we have done so many years just setting the boot order to "Boot USB" first, you "Only" have the option to create a "Boot Program"!!! so you select your USB Drive then which ever file you want it to boot I'm Assuming? So I tried selecting Setup, bootmgr.efi, and autorun with no results!
I get the secured boot error crap, turn that off and I get Legacy BIOS (that defeats the entire point) What the hell happened to Win95 Boot Discs and FDISK?
I am so frustrated with this garbage, I found out the hard way with Windows 10 and trying to nuke the SSD and put a clean install of 8.1 on it.
Any directions especially concerning Dell's wonderful BIOS would be appreciated!
Try setting BIOS back to default then press F12 when you boot. Select USB device from the UEFI section of the boot menu.0 more replies
I have just bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 and it just arrived this morning. However, when I try to play any sound the speaker starts to crackle heavily. The only solution that works is plugging in headphones and unplugging them which seems to work. But once you shut down the computer, and turn it back on, this problem still exists. I have already updated the realtek hd audio driver as well as the bios. I would hate to have to return the laptop as it works flawlessly otherwise.
Install latest Realtek driver FROM REALTEK SITE, not from Dell site.
That Realtek driver ll have an advanced option to disable audio power management. That's it.
I have bought this laptop about 2 months ago. Since i bought it, I have noticed that it's performance is not what i should expect.
I mean, i can be in Google Chrome viewing a page, and in the moment i scroll using my mouse, the laptop like freezes for a milisecond and then continues. Same happens when playing videogames, i can be playing at low/ultra details, 60+ frames per second, but every now and then i get a frame drop and then it goes back to where it was before, it's super annoying and shouldn't be happening.
I always thought it was something with the game, that it was not well optimised but it seems to be the computer.
Things i have done:
1. I reinstalled Windows 10 using the software provided by Microsoft.
2. All my drivers are up to date
What could it be? my laptop specs are:
6th Generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz)]NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR58GB Single Channel DDR3L 1600MHz (8GBx1)1TB (5400rpm) Hybrid HDD with 8GB Flash
All these things occur with the laptop plugged or not, it doesn't matter. Gaming, i have used Balanced and High Performance battery mode but i don't see any difference. This has happened to me for example in CS:GO, LoL, World of Warships, etc.
This is a benchmark i did with HDTune: http://imgur.com/a/wf68f
When you are saying that it is stuttering, does it do this all the time or is it something that will be working and then you get a quick stutter and then things return to normal? If this is happening, it's most likely just a point in time where the files that the processor needs to access files haven't been loaded into RAM yet. Your processor then has to wait for the HDD to load the file and continue on from there. Does Google Chrome do this all the time? Again, when it first boots or if there is something that computer has to load on the webpage such as Flash or anything like that, it can cause a temporary delay in the time that it is loading. If it's doing it constantly then it might be something to look at, but once in awhile, it's not uncommon for this to happen during loading. 5400RPM is slowest speeds for HDD and it can cause your computer to have to wait for loading here and there.2 more replies
I recently bought inspiron 15 7559 i7 and found that the keyboard is bilingual.
It's little bit hard for me to type as the enter key is really small.
Would it be possible to get another keyboard (with different layout) and replace it?
I have a brand new dell inspiron laptop which was delivered yesterday. First day worked fine. Have woken up this morning and the ac adapter is not charging the battery. I did a diagnostic boot and when scanning the battery the error message read:
I have no idea what has caused this fault and how to get it fixed. Please help, ive had this laptop less than 48 hours.
I was using my Dell Inspiron 7559 this weekend and suddenly the audio from my headphones quit. I had no problems in the first month I had the laptop, and the audio from the speakers still works fine. When I plug in the headphones the dialog box also doesn't show asking me about the audio device connected to the port. I know the headphones work on my phone, and I've tried deinstalling the Realtek audio driver and using the native driver. Nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm grateful for any help!
Hi I bought the 7559 and I am trying to install the new ssd. It didn't come with an hdd but an ssd, sandisk z400s m.2 2280 256gb. I read online you can upgrade it to a better one, the Samsung Evo. But when I go to install it and boot it up it says no bootable devices. I've seen videos of where people just put it in and it's done, so I need to download something before the installations? I'm fairly new into the world of upgrading laptops/pcs so any input will help. Thank youMore replies
Hi, I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 7559 for school, my first laptop ever. It took me about 6 months to finally decide on a laptop, and I'm very happy with it...it's beautiful. But, I've had two problems with the display. First, there is some slight yellow discoloration on the right half, not a big deal, just my ocd, probably just some backlight bleed or something. But the big issue is that the screen brightness flickers constantly. I can only really notice it on the lower brightnesses, but I use those so its a problem. I've tried EVERYTHING. Tons of driver fiddling, power option fiddling. I cant tell if it flickers in the bios screen or lcd bist, but I've disabled both NVidia and intel HD graphics drivers and no matter what I do, it still flickers. This makes me think that this Is a hardware issue. If anyone has some insight, I would really appreciate it. Should I send it in for repair, or just wait a bit as I read online somewhere that the lcd backlight needs to "settle in" for it to stop flickering with takes a decent amount of screen on time. Sorry for the long post, but this is my first pc and I'm a little bit picky about the function of my things. Thanks.More replies
Hello, I bought a dell 7559. I want to use cuda toolkit and some deep learning frameworks. So , i installed ubuntu 16.04 but after installing nvidia drivers I am not able to set my GPU as the default vga controller. In nvidia settings I dont see nvidia prime profiles. I have nvidia 361.45 driver. I tried installing aa few other versions of the driver but I still dont get the prime profiles in nvidia settings. I checked the bios to see if I could set it to use only gpu for display but there is no option for that. Is there any way I can disable nvidia optimus technology? If not is there a was to make it use only my gpu for display.More replies

Whenever I play some games, or watch trailers on steam, there is a big diagonal tear that goes across the screen beginning from the top left corner. I feel like I have tried everything. I have already sent my laptop into Dell and had the screen replaced. Is there anyone else out there experiencing this? Have you fixed the issue?
Thank you for writing to us!
Kindly private message the screen shot of the issue with the screen also provide us with the service tag and email address.
I've recently bought a Dell 7559 refurbished, with the Intel core i5 and GTX 960m. Within a day or two of use, the screen began to flicker upon booting up or waking from sleep mode, and it seems that the longer the laptop was in sleep/off mode, the worse the flickering is upon booting up. I've been trying to figure out what's going on, I've updated all drivers and such from the Dell support page, but nothing seems to fix this issue. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm certainly bummed out to have run into this issue within just days of buying the product. I've uploaded a youtube video to try and show what's going on.
I’d suggest that you update BIOS on your computer to check for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, then download the BIOS from BIOS section onto the system and install it.
Also, we will have to perform the ‘LCD BIST’ (Built in Self-test) on the computer. Please follow the steps mentioned below to run the “LCD BIST’.
Turn of the computer.
Press and hold down the ‘D’ key on the keyboard and press the Power button.
You will see different colors on the LCD screen. Please check if the issue reoccurs on the screen.
In addition, please connect the system to an external monitor and check if the issue reoccurs.

Recently I bought the Dell Inspiron 7559 (gaming one).
It has the option to add a SSD drive. I bought a m.2 SSD 256gb drive from Plextor.
See link for the version. The BIOS and Windows both don't recognize the SSD.
I have put it in and out several times. Updated BIOS / Resetted BIOS. It just won't recognize it.
Do I have to tweak any settings in BIOS for the SSD slot to "activate"?
I thought this was a plug and play thing. How can I get this to work?
Note: I also have my HDD still plugged cuz it has everything on it (windows etc).
I want to convert windows to the SSD if it CONNECTS EVER.
Help would be appreciate SOOO MUCH.
Thanks in regards.
That's a PCIe SSD -- this system supports mSATA (SATA 6G), not PCIe. You'll need to exchange the drive for an M.2 SATA/SATA6G version.3 more replies
I recently got a Dell 7559 and while I am impressed with the performance. I have encountered an issue in the last few days. Randomly when browsing (I have not yet encountered this in-game) the PC will seemingly lose all power. The screen goes black, the backlight turns off on the keyboard and I hear the sound of it powering off.
I run the PC plugged in and the battery is charged, so it is not an issue of being out of power.
Then it will restore itself to the W10 Login screen. I have updated all my drivers, and there are no errors messages in the Event Viewer. Has anyone encountered this issue? Does anyone have a solution?
UPDATE: I have just done both the F12 Menu diagnostics and the Diagnostic tool from the Support site. Both discovered no errors. I opened the laptop and nothing seemed to be out of place either.
I got this laptop recently and ran into an issue when connecting to external displays, in all games I am unable to set my video settings to 60Hz when choosing to project my display to the external screen only. If I duplicate the screen then I have no issue, but I want to be able to close the laptop lid and have 60Hz as an option, otherwise everything shows up as 59Hz which causes stuttering and flickering. The weird thing is that in Windows my refresh rate shows up as 60Hz at 1920x1080 but when launching any game 59Hz is the highest I can go to when set to display as "second screen only" in Windows 10. Please let me know what I could to fix this, and if it is not clear let me know.

When I installed windows it automatically found a driver for both the nvidia 960m and intel hd 530. I went to nvidia site and installed the latest drivers even though they warned it may cause instability. When I realized things were going wrong with the screen tearing I immediately uninstalled and installed the correct video drivers from the website here. However I am still having problems with screen tearing horizontally across the whole screen at least with videos playing through steam. At the time of the screen tearing I did have my laptop connected to my 1080p tv via hdmi. Any ideas? Do I need to reinstall windows completely to get rid of the newest nvidia driver I installed?
I have the same problem with my Inspiron 7559 that i bought 1 month ago. The problem ocure when I'm gaming or simply watching video. If you have any solution please share it to me, thank you.1 more replies

I own a Dell XPS 15, with 4K screen (touchscreen), 1TB SSD, 16GB Ram and GTX960M.
I have several Issues with the laptop, concerning both the audio and the general usage of it.
For the audio, it works fine until I plug my headphones in and out again. After plugging my headphones out, there is no audio what so ever and when i plug my headphones back in there is no audio either. I tried connecting to a Bluetooth device and this works fine. However, I have several high quality non-Bluetooth headphones which I would like to use without having to restart my laptop every single time.
The general problems are a bit more concerning to me as one of them is about overheating my laptop.
After I close the lid of my laptop and put it in my bag I would assume that it is sleeping and that nothing will happen. However, several times when I take the laptop out of my bag it is super hot and I can almost not touch it. The fans are and processor are maxed out for some reason but when I turn my laptop back on there is nothing working on the background.
The other general issue I have is which I am guessing is with my windows software. When I am at my desktop, or at any screen for that matter, my windows key on my keyboard does not work, I cannot left-click any icons on the right bottom of my screen and the "menu" does not pop-up when I slide my finger from the right hand-side of the screen towards the middle. I am guessing that this is an issue with windows 10 rather then the la... Read more
I am having an issue regarding installing all the needed drivers on a Dimension 4600C. I recently reformatted this computer for a friend (XP, not vista but that would explain driver issues ) and I had no problem getting the computer up and running again. Video/ethernet/printer drivers have installed flawlessly so far but the audio drivers are giving me a bit of annoyance. I install them, reboot and still so sound after 2 tries.I believe this Dell has an integrated "ADI 198x" and the drivers were located at Dells support site at (sorry for the tinyurl but that was like 300 letters) http://tinyurl.com/22p5kb. I have already done the standard make sure the cords are plugged in and the speakers are on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
can you see the speaker in the task bar?, if not go into control panel and go into sound devices and ensure its not muted?
If all ok there go into control panel/system/hardware/device manager and check sound drivers are enabled and working correctly.
I am constantly having this problem with my laptop. As I plug in and unplug my headphones throughout the day, I've noticed that after a couple times the bass gets really quiet and almost completely drops out. Since I have some pretty decent audiophile headphones with really great bass, it is super annoying and noticeable.
One workaround I have discovered is to go to the audio settings (either in Windows or the Dell Audio app), and switch the Default Format (the thing with 24-bit, 48000Hz in it) to something else, play some audio, then switch it back.
A little word on my setup: I have the latest drivers from the Dell download page installed. I am running Windows 10 64-bit with all the updates. I have Waves Maxx audio "enhancements" disabled. My Default Format is usually set to 24-bit 48000Hz, but the problem eventually happens no matter what I set it to. The "headphone size" option is set to "Medium", but as far as I can tell this option does nothing if I do not have Waves Maxx enabled. Switching it also does not fix the problem.
If I play audio using WASAPI (this basically means that the music player takes over the sound card completely, and bypasses whatever audio processing Windows and the driver has) the problem does not happen.
How do I fix this problem? It's incredibly annoying, and most likely has something to do with the audio driver, since this does not happen in Linux, and it did not happen when I was runn... Read more
We're encountering scrolling issues with Excel 2013 (and 2016).
What we mean by that is graphic distortions (blocks of black) appearing on the worksheet during the scroll action.
It happens almost exclusively on the externally attached monitor.
Even after the scrolling action is finished the blocks of blacks will persist and will obscure the data in the cells. Generally only opening the worksheet anew will correct the issue (until scrolling is once again initiated)
This is on a new Dell XPS 15 (9550) running Windows 10.The monitor is a Dell U2717D connected via the HDMI.
We've done quite a bit of troubleshooting but before describing in detail we wanted to know if anybody had seen something similar?
does someone knows about this issue?

Hi, I'm a foreign user so sorry in advance if my english is not top class.I've recently bought a Dell 7559 and my aim is to install Windows10 on a Samsung MZ-N5E250BW.
So I created a bootable usb (first attempt with Rufus, second attempt with the diskpart command from the Windows prompt), I dismounted the HDD and inserted the SSD in the m2 spot.
I switched from the UEFI bios mode to the Legacy one, these are my bios settings:Boot List Option [Legacy]Secure Boot [Disabled]Load Legacy Option Rom [Enabled]
I plugged my usb and it seemed to works fine, the Win10 logo appeared a then blue window "Page fault in nonpaged area".Both the ssd and the bootable usb work on another laptop. An user from another forum said that he received a particular USB pen directly from Dell, but I don't like this solution, I cannot depend on an specific hardware to change my OS.Do you have some advices ?Thanks a lot.Best regards.

My problem is ... no, not quite so, my PROBLEM is Windows 10 Anniversary Update gets downloaded, installed and failed again and again. When it goes through Windows Update Center everything goes well but finally after a reboot I get a notification that the system couldn't install the update. No other information or error codes provided. After that Windows Update Center finds the same Anniversary Update and everything goes in circle. I called Microsoft Support three times with different engineers but with the same final result - the problem still unsolved. I used MediaCreationTool utility as well. With this utility the whole process goes well but finally I get popup window that says "Error occurred while installing update". When I tried to reinstall Windows 10 from the image created by MediaCreationTool I got error code 0xd0000034 (finally!!! something I can use to find a solution !!!), but looking through the Internet for this code didn't help to resolve this. Any other updates are installed with no issues. The Problem only with Anniversary Update.

Hello, I just bought this laptop and have noticed some issues while browsing the web occasionally:
The text becomes garbage in memory, I'm not sure if this is an issue with the intel or NVidia graphics driver, but I have the following versions:
Windows 10 Home 64 bit
Intel Driver: 188.8.131.5204
Nvidia Driver: 368.81 Release date 7/14/2016
Let me know if anyone else is seeing this and if there is a fix. Worse case is the video ram is overheating / going bad, but I hope this has a software fix as the laptop works fine everywhere else even when gaming
Guys I messed up real bad... I saved up money for a year to buy this laptop and finally yesterday ordered it in ebay, and afterwards going through the details I noticed it didn't say that it had the gtx 960m video card but rather intel HD graphics built in. The price is the same as the other versions of the laptop with the gtx on eBay and I just happened to be a complete moron not checking twice as I should've and order this particular version http://www.ebay.com/itm/272181768757?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
My question is does it even exist? Dell 7559 without the gtx 960m? It's the same price as the ones with the gtx video card.
I don't even know what to do...
When you are buying from online Market, you have to double check you are getting an functional complete legit products, and read reviews from many sources before buying a specific products.
In your case, Dell Inspiron 15 7559 was an "Manufacture Refurbished" of returned Inspiron 15 to the factory according to the description.
Thus, read carefully next time, as refurbished are likely "tested" to function as intended. From the page on Ebay you have brought, it might have been a bad buy, so you got rip off for the wrong product if you did not get your refund. Ebay in my view is not too safe, it more of a trade market versus places where you can buys computer officially. Thus this problem is between you and the seller.
PS: Yeah most I15 7559 model should have Geforce 960M graphic as detail here >http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-15-7559-laptop/pd?ref=PD_OC<.
While playing CS:GO, my laptop froze and won't shutdown with holding down the power button, had to open up the back panel and pull the battery connector to shut it down. This is the first time it happened, had the laptop since Feb.
Is it related to cpu temperature management? Ambient temperature in my room is kinda high lately would peak to 87 degrees C using HWMonitor from 80 normally.
Any feedback/replies to this post is pretty much appreciated! Just want to know what to avoid to keep it from happening again.
So, I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 7559, and decided to upgrade it with another 8GB RAM and a 120GB 850 Evo SSD. Directly after installing these, upon boot I was taken to a white screen reading: "The amount of system memory may have changed" with the options of "Continue" "BIOS Setup" and "Diagnostics". When I continue, I am asked to chose my keyboard layout, and then am taken to a screen with an array of options, such as "Continue", "Troubleshoot", "Use a device", etc. I have tried many of the options and solutions I've found with some googling, but nothing is working. When I continue, I'm taken to a screen with a circular loading animation that reads "Preparing automatic repair...", and then I am taken back to the "Choose your keyboard layout" screen. I've ran the diagnostics, albeit to an extent (I have not completed the second part of the diagnostics reading the memory, which takes 5+ hours), but what was tested was a-okay. I have factory restored, and reset Windows 10. I am pretty certain that this isn't due to faulty hardware with the aftermarket installations I made, as the Samsung SSD and Crucial RAM both came from the manufacturer on Amazon, both products having 5 stars.
Anyone have any ideas?
When I unplug the power cord/charger from the computer when it is running the laptop will BlueScreen and reboot, message when this happens is Kernal_Security_Check_Failure. Battery is fully charged and showing 100%. The charger is outputting 19.5V DC. I also tried another Dell charger I have and the computer does the same thing, bluescreens and reboots?? Ran Dell diagnostics on internet support and everything passes. Drivers are up to date and it indicates devices are working properly.
Anyone had this happen and how to fix it?
Does the system recognize the AC adapter, or does it show "unknown"? F2 at powerup to check.
Will the system power up and stay running on battery only (no power adapter connected)?
I did a clean installation of windows 10 on my Inspiron 7559, how can I restore the factory fans control?More replies
My 6 month old Dell Inspiron 7559 has starting coming apart from around the left side hinge. The keyboard plate is being separated from the bottom chassis and can see inside. Dell support say its damage or wear and tear. Really!. The laptop has been at home and not moved beyond 5 feet for the last 6 months. There is NO damage and even a microscopic inspection will not reveal any damage. Wonder how UK support brushed me off even after sending photos and saying not covered by warranty. Had been a Dell customer for last 12 years and this is my 4th Dell and definitely the last one. Cannot stand a company like thisMore replies
I bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 7000 - 7559 core i7 with touch display about a 4 days ago. I've noticed the screen flickers on low brightness level. (below 30%).
If you have any solution for this please let me know.
Typo on the title, I ment Truemobile 360, NOT 355.
I have an older Dell D400 I'm trying to breath some life back into and I thought I would try out Windows 7.
Well, I got everything working good I think, but the Dell 360 Truemobile bluetooth.
Windows 7 just won't see it. No matter what driver pack I try, it says no bluetooth found. The official Dell Vista pack asks me to turn on the bluetooth but I can't even figure out how to do that, and the light on the laptop is not lit up.
I see dell has this app/patch that it suppose to enable the bluetooth but that also tells me no blue tooth found.
I can't use my bluetooth cellphone as a modem, help please.
That being said, other people have been having the same issue with other laptops, same internal bluetooth and W7 but what worked for them doesn't seem to want to work for me.
On a side note it work's under Windows XP, just not W7.
I opened the computer, removed the BT, rebooted, shut down, reinstalled the BT, rebooted and it's working now.
Thanks anyway I guess.
I have been trying to use my (win7.x64) Dell l502x laptop with my folk's new samsung lcd tv.
I finally got the sound bit working (opening nvidia control panel refreshes the audio playback devices list), but I have several erroneous devices that appear (and disappear) when connecting the TV.
I tried the same device (TV) with the same cable, with my brother's new toshiba laptop, and there were two playback devices (as expected) - speakers, and TV.
Mine looks like this
Can any l502x owners confirm (re driver install) if they did follow these instructions

I have multiple HDMI audio entries listed in the Sound Panel/Playback section. Mine are AMD HDMI audio as I have an AMD Radeon video card.
You have an NVIDIA video card so the reason for the NVIDA listings. The Toshiba may only have the basic Intel Video, for example, and the reason for only one entry.

I have the Dell Inspiron 7559 (non-touch) and was able to install the Windows 10 Anniversary Update today after a long session of sitting though Windows Updates. Everything seemed to work fine, except that I had to uninstall my antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection). No biggie, I'll just reinstall it after the update. I think it also said that the Intel WiDi drivers had to be uninstalled as well, which it did automatically, but that was all that happened during that process.
So I attempt to do so, and I was able to install it via the .msi file (the .exe file wouldn't work for some reason), and the computer begins to reboot. Constantly. The laptop would freeze somewhere from when the login screen appears to a couple minutes after that. It would hang for a couple minutes, then reboot. It rebooted enough times for it to go to the Windows 10 recovery options. I just told it to restart so that I could tell it to boot into safe mode on the next bootup (shift-click restart when I got inside Windows). It works, and I then tell it to boot into safe mode.
Now my laptop won't boot at all. It won't go past the Dell logo. I can enter the BIOS and the boot options menu, as well as load the ePSA diagnostics tool and have the tests pass (no errors). But it won't get past the Dell logo after this. It doesn't restart, flash lights or anything like that. Just hangs on the Dell logo.
How can I resolve this issue?
i set a admin password and system password in bios of my laptop and i forgot them , so i can,t access any thing on my laptop , please help me with this problem because i have many works depends on my laptop
You've asked already in your other thread - the answer is the same:
Call Dell support with verification of ownership of the system.
This is a recent problem I ran into with my new 7559. About a week ago I did a factory reset because the speakers were having a problem, and it worked fine for a couple days. Afterwards it would go into this flickering loop after it would wake up from sleep. This makes it so anytime I'm not using the laptop I basically have to shut it down, which really ***. I've posted a link of what the issue looks like. I ran the dell hardware test and my computer passed, and I also updated my drivers so I don't know what else to do. Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on what's happening.
I have exactly the same problem... :/2 more replies
EDIT: Rewritten for clarity
On Realtek ALC3861 Audio Driver (ver. 220.127.116.1125, A00) for Windows 10, there is no longer a button labeled "Show Meters" under Speakers/Headphones > Maxx Audio Pro in the bottom right corner (please see attached screenshot). This button in previous versions of the driver for Windows 7 opened a new window with sliders to balance front and back speakers in a surround sound setup.
What I did:
Updated my OS from 7 to 10 and updated the Realtek audio drivers accordingly - to the above mentioned version.
What I expected:
The "Show Meters" button would be present in the newest Realtek driver.
What really happened:
Upon upgrade to the newest driver, the "Show Meters" button disappeared.
I have reinstalled the newest driver multiple times with no avail and tried the driver from Windows 8.1 and the default driver from Realtek with worse affects (Dell Audio window is missing most elements/drop down options, etc)
If anyone would know how to address the issue, if this is intentional, or who to escalate this to, I would appreciate it.
I feel that I should be more observant. In Control Panel > Sound > Playback > Select the Realtek device > Properties > Levels there are the exact changes I need. I don't know why I didn't notice until now. Could explain why there was no "Show Meters" button in this release but I thought Windows 7 also had the same leveling and there was the leveling in Dell Audio as well.
I'm still going with a new sound card from Creative however, seen a super nice $70 one that looks awesome and seems to have features to match.
When my Dell Windows 10 laptop wakes up from sleep, restarts and reboots.....I get the small what I'll call blue VOLUME METER or VOLUME BAR appearing momentarily in the upper left of my screen. It displays what I have my volume control set at set at.
It goes away after a few seconds. It's not a big deal and I can certainly live with it, but if there is a setting I can tweak to remove it, I would like to do that as I don't need constant reminders of my volume setting.
Have any of you resolved this on your Dell? Thanks!

Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system?
Start, control panel, Windows mobility center. Make sure the function row is set for multimedia key.
How can I uninstall Dell Audio and only have the legacy Realtek Driver and Software in my XPS 14 (L421x)?
I installed some time age the default audio driver that I got from "Dell Drivers", this installed the "Dell Audio" + "MAXX AUDIO 4". I already uninstalled this thing, run CCleaner, deleted the folders, and downloaded and installed the legacy Realtek R 2.73 driver, but this thing (Dell Audio) is always installing with the driver.
My system audio is ridiculously loud. I need to put my system audio in somewhat 5~15 / 100% to get "normal audio", the only way I get realistic "normal audio range" is using my SteelSeries Wireless Headset with USB, this way the system audio goes to 100% automatically and I control the audio with the scroll located in the headset, even in 100% max audio, I get a "normal 100%", it's loud, but not EXTREME like the notebook audio!
Another problem, when I plugin my Apple Earpods, they simple doesn't work, I already tested them with tons of devices at home, and they are working great. The system doesn't even recognize them.
I think that everything would be resolved if I could install the Leagacy Realtek drivers & software, not this *** loaded with bloatware from Dell, I don't care about "MAXX Audio", "MaxxSense" and all this BS. If you look with attention, all the settings located in this "Dell Audio" menu are the same in the Real... Read more
I forgot to mention in the main post, and I can't edit it, so here it goes:
First, Sometimes I need to run LiveUSB Linux distros in this notebook, and the audio in them is all great, realistic audio range, 100% loud but not extreme, everything OK.
Second, I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro up-to-date.
I'd be grateful for any advice to my problem....
Last month I bought a new PC, a Dell XPS 8500 with an Intel Core i7-3770 processor. The PC has onboard audio (Realtek High Definition Audio).
I didn't buy new speakers as I have a perfectly usable set of Creative 6.1 speakers.
My problem is that although my computer plays Windows event sounds through all the speakers, applications such as iTunes only emit sound through the front pair.
I have googled the problem and as a result have configured the Realtek to use 7.1 audio but without the side pair.
Also, I have disabled the Realtek driver and have reloaded by asking Windows to select the best available.
But still the problem persists.
Thanks in advance,
First, for proper operation you must use the Dell supplied sound driver. Non-Dell will either not work or install or will not work properly, and that includes the basic function Windows installed HD Audio Codec.
6.1 is an oddball speaker configuration for current technology systems, its either 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1.
I used to do a lot of support on the Dell users forum (community) and recall that certain applications will only play audio through "stereo" speakers only. My experience on the Dell forum (I had over 37,000 posts and am still registered) also is the reason I note the Dell supplied sound driver.
You could also post on the Dell community Desktop hardware section and one of the user experts there may have more suggestions.

So a few hours ago I completed my update to Win. 7 Ultimate 64-bit from Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Overall I am quite pleased, however, I have ran into my first problem: my laptop came with srs wow audio enhancement, and now when I select it, it says it only supports xp and vista. So my question is, what are some Win. 7 compatible alternatives to boosting my overall pc sound quality. For instance, I liked it how I could select "classical" mode or "vocal" mode on my srs wow very readily to change the sound quality when I was listening to anything, such as music in my itunes, or a youtube video, etc. So, what are some good alternatives?

You may not even need a replacement. win 7 offers a compatibily mode. try right clicking the file that you use to launch and go to properties>compatibility mode. check vista and save. see if it works. If not it may need to be installed in compatibility mode
Good luck and let us know if you need help
