Q: T530 Lenovo Integrated Camera not working, Lenovo ...

Hello, I have a new T530 with Windows 8 OS. I am having trouble using the integrated camera. It functions neither in the Windows camera app nor in Skype. In both cases I get a picture with a gray background and a camera with a line through it. In Device manager, the camera does appear, is enabled, and the drivers are up to date. After looking through other threads, I tried checking whether the camera was plugged in and indeed it was. When using Skype and I set the camera to on (Skype did detect the camera), I still got the gray no camera image, but the green light on the camera itself turned on.I also tried using Fn+F6 to check settings. Lenovo settings opens, but the when I click the camera settings Icon, the screen loads a blank page that says "Camera" in the top right and has a back button (left pointing arrow) in the top left hand corner. The back button does not seem to work and I must change the window to something else in order to exit/close settings.I tried manually installing both camera drivers and "power management" ("energy management"?) drivers. Neither of this solved either of these issues. Please help me to resolve this problem. Thank you.

Hi, euterpenc

I would make sure that the BIOS is up to date in the system. The current BIOS for your system is 2.07 and can be found here. Also, I would ensure that the chipset drivers are up to date, and those can be found here.

Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes
Adam

Hi Folks, I got my thinkpad T530 last week. I tested the skype after opening the box and it works. Then I took off the original 320G HDD and put my 830 SSD on it, reinstalled the win8 and blah blah blah.Just last night when I tried to chat with my parents on skype i found out the the camera is dead. I tried by doing so:1) according to others threads I uninstall most of the unnecessary drivers;2) reinstall the camera driver;3) deleted the ricoh media driver;4) updated the BIOS;5) tired to locate someone mentioned, the "privacy" problem. But the video/camera option is not even showing up by Fn+F6;6) downloaded and installed the thirdparty AMCAM and it says no camera device can be found.  Please let me know if there is anything else i can do. Thank you ,

During the Win7-64 start up the Integrated Camera Preview Manager App some time occurs in the task panel in non-responding state. App window name is "Main (Not Responding)". Integrated Camera working properly but I need to terminate App by using Task Manager to disappear it. I have found the similar issue with W540 reported on this forum but without the solution. Does any one knows how to fix this issue? Regards,Oleg.

Hi! My mother bought this laptop a couple of years ago, and after a year and a half or so it started having problems with some software (you know how mothers are!), so she gave it to a neighbour of hers so that he would format it and reinstall Windows. Originally, the laptop came with Windows 8, and for reasons I don't know, this neighbor deleted all the HDD partitions and install Windows 7 instead; that means you have no way of performing a factory reset. From that moment on, the camera stopped working; it doesn't even appear in the device manager. All other features - audio, video, WiFi, etc. - work properly; it's just the camera which has the problem. So my mother talked to me about this, and I've been trying to solve this issue without success. I tried installing Windows 10; nothing. I tried installing Windows 8.1; nothing. I tried installing the camera drivers, but it says there's nothing to install the driver to. I've read that some people recommend an activation of the camera via BIOS, but I'm unable to find such an option in the BIOS of this computer. Others recommend a Fn + Esc sequence that, to be honest, doesn't even do anything. The thing is that I'm getting crazy with this stuff, and that's why I'm asking you people whether you can help me with this. I'll appreciate any comments regarding this. Thank you in advance!!

I recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad S300 running Windows 8 and initially had difficulty in getting it to update but, with help from several websites, managed to resolve this problem. However, I never managed to get the integrated webcam to work. The application would launch but the camera screen is blank. Device Manager advises that the device is working properly and the drivers are up-to-date. Incidently, this particular notebook does not have the hotkey (F9) to switch the integrated camera on/off but, I understand, on later versions Fn+Esc is supposed to perform the same function; it does not. The system has two associated programs, Lenovo EasyCamera and Lenovo YouCam.

More recently I have updated to Windows 8.1 but the integrated webcam still does not work. Can anyone please advise what I might be doing wrong or what I could do to get the webcam to work. I'm a bit of a newbie, particularly as far as Windows 8 is concerned. Regards.

A:Integrated Webcam on Lenovo Ideapad S300 not working.

Have you tried re-installing the webcam driver? I have a Lenovo at home and mine was ok when I upgraded, but I removed all the Lenovo drivers for the webcam. (As I hate all the rubbish companies put onto new equipment)

Also when you run the camera app does it detect a camera? Usually Windows 8 will ask for a camera to be plugged in. If it shows a blank image does the white light next to the lens turn on?

The camera has been working with Skype.  Now not working and camera icon on Skype screen has line across it showing camera not working/available.   In Device Manager I have checked that the device is available (Lenovo EasyCamera).  I have checked privacy settings and camera is on.  I have downloaded an updated driver. The 'general' tab states 'This device is working properly'. My operating system is Windows 10.  Thank you SEJoseph - I have checked in Lenovo Settings and the camera icon has a slash through it.  I assume that means it is disabled.  If so how can I enable it? Problem solved - in Lenovo Settings - camera - set privacy to 'off'.  Camera now works with Skype.

Hello everyone, I have problem with built-in camera that is not working at all. I have a Lenovo G500 Laptop with operating system Windows 8 Pro (64-bit). My built-in camera is not working, Widows Photo app asks me to connect camera, and Skype reports that it hasn't found any camera device. When I go to Device Manager, there isn't such tab as "Imaging Devices" but there is a tab "Other Devices" where is one "Unknown Device". Device location is listed as "Port_#0004.Hub_#0005", device status reports: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)", and hardware ID says only "USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE". I am almost sure that this is my malfunctioning camera.Automatically find drivers for it doesn't work. I've also tried uninstalling driver for that unknown device and run scan for recent hardware changes resulting only in re-appearing of mentioned unknown device. I've tried to download driver from http://support.lenovo.com/sk/sk/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g500-no... , however when I try to install it, an error message appears: "no appropriate driver to be installed". I've tried DriverScanner app as well. But this found only unknown device, just as Device Manager. I am sorry to bother you, but I am really hopeless now. Am I really forced to buy external camera or is there a solution fir this issue?

Good day The T530 will not accept a replacement non-genuine Lenovo battery, I am aware of this. However, I have acquired a 2nd-hand extended battery that IS a genuine Lenovo battery, and when my T530 boots up, it still complains that the battery is not authorised and will not charge. Sure enough, it does not charge. Does anyone know why this would be? The battery is a 8.4 Ah, 94Wh. FRU 42T4969 ASM 42T4802, registered Lenovo product. Many thanks, Ian

I had no display issues with Win7 Pro 32-bit, but having migrated to Win 10, the display will randomly go black, sometimes with the mouse cursor visible. There is disk activity but no key combination seems to get the display on again so I end up rebooting via the power button to shut down and cold start.

BIOS is latest, as are display drivers. I have tried rolling back the drivers and even using generic VGA drivers to no avail. Also removed and rediscovered the display card in Device Manager. Lenovo don't have anything useful.

I have seen a few similar posts on other sites but no answers. Anyone have an idea?

I have a Lenovo T530 and am using Windows 10 and recently had to replace the keyboard because a few buttons were just plain gone (don't ask). I'm not sure if it's the Lenovo, the keyboard or Windows 10 that are causing these problems, but I am beginning to think it's Windows 10. I apologize in advance for the long post. Despite the keyboard being new and installed and working very well (as is obvious from the fact that I'm typing on it right now), the backlight is not working, even on startup. I made sure when I purchased the keyboard that the backlight was included and there's even that little symbol on the spacebar indicating that it should. While this is not the end of the world, the volume buttons have completely stopped working. I can control the volume on the computer through the keyboard's volume buttons after startup for about a minute, but as soon as I click a single program or open an application or something I can no longer control the volume through the volume buttons. I can still use most of the other hotkey buttons (barring Fn+F5 and Fn+F6, but I never used those even when they did work). I have tried updating a few drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling drivers in multiple times in multiple ways and checking things in BIOS and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions other than a system restore or something along those lines since I had a similar audio problem on my last keyboard with the audio and it went away with a new windows update. I have a Lenovo Think Pad T530 - fresh install of Win7HP64 - all went great with windows install, went to lenovo page for this unit started to grab various drivers chipset, graphics, usb, etc everything works great I can connect to the internet via the hardline ethernet but for whatever reason in device manager I just keep seeing
"network controller" driver not found did the auto search nothing, tried everything on the lenovo site under
Networking Lan
Networking Wireless Lan
Networking Wireless Wan

I can conntect via the ethernet jack but do not even see an option in network sharing center to disable or enable anything but the wired connection, nothing showing for wifi if i go to change adaptor settings.

The thing I can't figure out too though is I am grabbing the win7 64 drivers for these basic things at lenovos site and installing them yet after reboot still nothing.

I see a side switch on left for wifi have it turned on, i see a FN F5 key combo that is also supposed to turn on wifi iv'e tried that too, I just can't even figure out why in device manager it just says no drivers found code 28 I keep thinking this has to be something simple but I've spent about 4 hrs on it rebooting installing uninstalling various things and sure can't figure it out.

ANY suggestions appreciated at this point, calling defeat for tonight, will see what anyone else suggests and try that tomorrow possibly.

Hello Maria48 and welcome to Lenovo community,

Kindly try reinstalling the camera software and check if it resolve the issue.

If the persist, please try following methods:
Install YouCam Software first.
http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/in/en/DriversDownLoads/Drivers_Show_4594.html

Method one:
Adjust brightness and contrast via the interface ?Video Enhancement?, camera image effect could be improved clearly.

Method Two
Click ?Configure the YouCam settings? and adjust ?Capture resolution? to a higher value. The higher the resolution is, the better the effect will be.

I hope this will resolve your issue.

Hi, I got a ThinkPad E460 running Windows10 Pro.  The integrated camera was working before but when I tried to use Skype for the first time in a few months this morning, video didn't show.  Then I ran the Camera app in Win10 and it gave me the error code 0xA00F4271(0x80070005) even though it was shown as "working" in Device Manager.  The camera still doesn't work after deleting it in Device Manager and letting Win10 reinstall by itself, updating the camera driver, checking the privacy settings, etc.  I don't know if this is related or not, but the integrated mic was missing in Device Manager before I found out that the camera was not working.  I updated the audio driver and the mic started working again. Is there anything else that I can do to fix the camera?  Thanks in advance!

Some AV Security software, such as Kapersky AV, will sometimes block the camera access, so check to see if yours has such a feature. Other thing to try is to completely remove the existing camera driver to see if it has become corrupted.   In windows, just uninstalling and reinstalling will not install a clean copy, unless you make sure to check the box during the uninstall to "Delete the driver software for this device".    If left unchecked, it will just reuse the existing driver, and if already the latest version, attempts to reinstall the same driver again will not always replace all files since they already exist. Also make sure to install all of the latest Chipset drivers, or better yet, run the Lenovo's ThinkVantage System Update (TVSU) and update all of the drivers to the latest version.      Sometimes it seems to find updates that fix issues that manually updating misses.. I would hold of on any BIOS updates except as a last resort, however, since they sometimes go bad, and when they do, they go really bad and can leave your system bricked.. ThinkVantage System Update (TVSU)https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht080136 Good Luck,

I'm talking about software that can run on the desktop and record and take snapshots. (not full screen like the Windows 8.1 software)

I have a web-camera issue with my notebook. It doesn't work. It used to work once or twice. But then suddenly something went wrong. Neither works mic. When I opened my windows 10 "Camera" app it said "Can't find camera". I checked device manager for drivers issues and couldn't find anything about camera. So I added a knew device "Lenovo EasyCamera". My "Camera" app still doesn't work. So I tried to fix in with Lenovo Settings. But there is no any camera folder in it. Reinstalling still didn't fix it. Also I tried installing drivers with official Lenovo website. Still nothing.

Hi Guys,

This is something that has been bugging me for almost a year now and I've just been really lazy to solve the issue.

The problem is because for some reason, unknown to all except Lenovo, they decided NOT to support Windows 10 for a couple of the laptop models that they had in their product line when W10 was launched. Just my luck, my Lenovo Y510 (Model No - 20217) is among those unsupported PCs and hence there are certain features that no longer work.
(Laptops-and-netbooks :: IdeaPad-Y-Series-laptops :: IdeaPad-Y510p-Notebook :: 20217 - Lenovo Support (US) As you can see, nothing for W10)

PC Specs:
- Lenovo Y510P (Model No - 20217)
- 8GB RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GT755M
- Windows 10 Home, Version - 1511
- Intel Core i7-4700MQ CPU @2.4GHz

The issue that I'm facing is that my Webcam just wont work. Issue that I can see:
- The light adjacent to the webcam on the laptop keeps coming on and going off and then finally just stay off (each time I try to use the camera)
- Skype and other applications that need my camera can no longer detect it. Initially, my video keeps on appearing and disappearing until it finally just goes and stay disconnected, as though I don't even have a camera.
- Error message on my Camera app when I try to open it: "We can't find your camera. Error code - 0xA00F4244(0xC00D36d5)
- When I go to my Device Manager, there is no list called "Imaging Devices" as a whole.

My warranty has no run out so dell can't actually help me. I wondered if anyone had a similar problem and what they did? Whenever I try to use the camera the blue light comes on as if to say that it is working but the picture is just black. When I click to take a picture regardless a box pops up that says "Unable to capture a photo. Please reconnect your camera and try again". But if the camera is integrated how can disconnect it? Have tried reinstalling drivers and even the webcam manager itself but it has not helped. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you. x

So everything has been working fine on my laptop until about 10:30PM EST tonight. I bought it new in August 2011.
Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HD: 750 GB
BIOS: 45CN36WW

It's always been a fine machine with NO problems.
However, last night there were Windows 7 updates that were installed and then restarted my computer. I had not gotten a chance to check exactly what they were though. About 10:30 this evening, flash crashed in Mozilla Firefox which is not that uncommon, and from there Firefox closed, and so did my Microsoft Word and Excel apps that were open. From there, my computer began to shut down and restart. When it went to restart, all it could do was go to the opening Lenovo screen which gives you the F2 (setup option) and F12 (multiboot menu option) as it typically does. Besides a thin strip at the top that appeared after about 30 secs that only displays moving static that eventually will just stick, that is where the boot process ends. No Windows 7 screen, and certainly no opportunity to boot into safe mode to check for any problems. The screen freezes and goes nowhere.

So basically, all I'm getting in terms of boot options are lenovo features, not windows 7 features, meaning it won't boot into windows 7 or windows 7 safe mode no matter what I try. The biggest problem here is that I have no windows 7 disc to even try to boot from my dvd drive.

Anybody have any suggestions on what the probl... Read more

My son accidentally got his leg caught in the cord of his laptop when he got up and the laptop  fell approximately 2 feet to the tile floor.  It boots up but stays on the Lenovo splash screen.  If I go into the BIOS and select System Recovery it goes through the "Loading files..." process, the Lenovo splash screen appears with the dots going in a circle but, then after about 2 minutes of that the screen just goes black.  If I tilt the screen forward or back I can tell it is still backlit just with nothing to display.  Anything we can try?

New low in customer service. Had a Lenovo tech here to do a warranty replacement of the display on my laptop and he left it in much worse shape than he found it and gave us a scare as an added bonus. He was yelling and clearly kicking things around out of frustration several times while he was here and then just left. I had debated asking him to leave but was honestly afraid to engage him, but having him just leave was really odd. Called the cops to be sure it was documented and to see if there was anything else we should do. And while that was all odd enough, then I called Lenovo to see what they would do to sort this out and all they can do is escalate me for a call from a supervisor in 2-3 business days.  Got an email yesterday saying they would get back to me in one business day and then tonight got this gem from escalated support: Subject: 02554745 [ ref:_00D30V2Wu._5001412BHaF:ref ] Hello Mr FreemanThis is regarding your Lenovo computer and the recent onsite service for your unit. Hello everyone, Since about five days ago, everytime I turn on my laptop, it starts normally. It goes into the black-background lenovo startup with a white loading symbol. Then, after maybe 5 rotations of the dots in the loading symbol, it freezes. It does not progress into starting up. At this point, I usually turn off my laptop by holding the power button. If I don't turn it off myself, it turns off automatically a few minutes later.  Every 2 or 3 times I turn on my computer, instead of the loading symbol, it turns into a "Preparing Automatic Repair" mode. I have seen the loading symbol for this mode but then it disappears and nothing happens and it turns off automatically after ten minutes or so. I've seen the same solution that help others with the same problem which is to take out the DVD from the laptop. I did this and my problem has not changed.  edit: g500 to g505

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I?m sorry to hear that your G500 Laptop is not booting to Windows and hanging at Lenovo Logo and the issue persists even after performing Flee-Power step. Hence, I suggest to perform BIOS reset and check if the issue persists. Below are the steps to perform BIOS reset:

To access BIOS menu turn OFF the Laptop and press the NOVO button located beside power button.
Then to reset the BIOS to its defaults click on ?F9? Key and select YES.
Now click on ?F10? Key to save the changes that are done in BIOS, the computer will automatically restart.

Do post us back if the issue persists.

Lenovo Gen 4(20FC) Carbon loses audio after Lenovo System Update We have several of the Gen 4 X1 Carbons here at work and they work fine until Lenovo system updates gets run. We have had 4 people run the system updates and now the system has no audio. If you click the audio icon in the try, windows begins diagnosing the system. If you try to install a different driver, it fails with code 1. No matter if you uninstall, reinstall, different versions of the driver....nothing seems to restore the audio. I finally did a system restore to before lenovo system update was run and the audio returned to working. It seems to be a software problem but I would really like to know if there is some way to get it working without having to restore every time someone runs lenovo system update.

My g580 ran out of battery while using it, and now it gets stuck on the lenovo logo. I tried a different hard drive which changed nothing, I've tested both hard drives on a different computer and they both work. However when I boot the laptop with no harddrive it will get past the logo go to a screen saying something about an unplugged cable then reset and get stuck on a blank screen.   If I plug in my windows recovery usb drive( and no harddrive) the the machine will boot normally and go to the windows installation screen. So any ideas on why a working harddrive would stop the system from booting? Also I've tried the whole taking out the battery unplugging it holding down the power key and then plugging it back in thing, did nothing.

The first thing I look at if a machine hangs at startup is the USB ports.  Physical damage can create shorts which cause these symptoms.  Check for bent pins or a tongue broken off.

Hi,
I have 2 lonovo laptops, R50e running on windowsXP, and Z460 running on windows7.

The screen of R50e is spoilt but I have some personal datas inside the harddisk.

If I take out the harddisk from R50e and put it in Z460, are there any problems, do I need to do some setup after putting in the harddisk from R50e to Z460.

Thanks

A:can I swop harddisk from lenovo r50e to lenovo Z460

Yes, you do need to do a repair install.
On the very first boot with the new disk you should boot from the install CD/DVD and do a repair install.
This is assuming that you want to be able to use the XP.
If all you want to do is get at the data then you could use it in an external caddy from Windows 7

So my problem is as the title says.. Well it started when I opened my laptop from sleep mode then it was hanging up and then it suddenly turned blue with sad face.. I didn't read the problem clearly but i remember it saying a problem about "kernel_????_????"..

I tried to hard reset my laptop cause it was taking so much time then it ended up stuck on the logo... Now I'm the one with the blue sad face...

Hope you guys can help me as soon as possible., thanks in advance..

Right, you mentioned it turned blue with a sad face, that is a Blue Screen of Death (or proper term is Kernel bugcheck) which indicates something has gone wrong.

Using Windows 10 version 1511 and all updates.  Used the Lenovo System Update and everything has been updated.  I wanted to turn on the built-in camera on my Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 530, the F5 key, and it came up with a message saying, "This key combination opens the Lenovo Settings Program. You do not have the Lenovo Settings Program installed on your computer. To launch the program using this key combination, install the program first." I went and downloaded the Thinkpad Settings Dependency for Windows 10, restarted the laptop and it still doesn't work. I got stuck in the Windows 8 update loop and had to restore my computer to factory settings. When this happened to me a year ago I just updated to windows 10 and had no problems. So I got out of the windows 8 update loop by restoring to factory settings then downloading windows 10. Windows 10 installed then restarted my computer. Now my computer is stuck on the Lenovo screen with no loading circle or cursor and I cannot access BIOS.Here's a list of the things I tried:Ctrl + Alt + DelF1, F4, F8 - Repeatedly tapping and HoldingRemoving and replacing batteryTurning on with only AC cable and no batteryRemoving DVD driveTurning it on upside downRemoving AC cord and battery, holding power button for 15 seconds-30seconds - 40seconds and replacing power and turning onRemoving and replacing RAM And right now I unplugged it from AC power and I'm trying to drain the battery. If anybody has any suggestions please let me know. I'm a college student my life basically depends on my laptop. This did not happen when I upgraded to windows 10 last year and i still have the same computer.

My mic became suddenly not working 2 days ago. I have tried re-installing the driver (Conexant) and make sure my mic isn't muted, but still, it does not work. I have also checked the status of the mic in device manager, but it says the device is working properly and the latest driver had been installed. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Or maybe my mic was busted physically? Specs:OS: Windows 10 (updated on December 2015)CPU: Intel Core i7 4510UGPU: Nvidia 840M 4GBRAM: 12GBStorage: 1TB Thanks for the help!

Hi. Mi first post here.  I have a Lenovo G50-45 model 80E30181US.  Original configuration was W8.1 with 500 Gb HDD. I upgraded to W10 and 250 Gb SSD.  It worked fine for a few days but now, after using it for a while, it suddenly stops working, it kind of freezes, refusing to open or close programs, even refusing to shut down . Mouse moves, but doesn't work, no action when clicking to open or close a program. I shut it down using the on/off buttom, start it and everything goes well for a while, then problem repeats as described..  Latest installed programs were Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. I uninstalled them... same problem. Installled again...same thing.   I have not restored it because the protection was not activated. I just noticed in  "system protection configuration" that the two partitions of my SSD ( [C] [system] and [F] ) are shown as non protected (deactivated), but there is a third item,  "[C:] [Falta]" ,  showed as protected (active). Please note that Falta is spanish (the languaje I am using), which I guess in this case translates to "lacking"or "missing"... or "faulty/defective".... I find this very strange...  What could be the problem? What to do?ThanksIgnacio

Okay, I recently bought this new zebronic ghost headset(http://bit.ly/1UeppF3). The headset is great but the only problem is that the mic doesn't pick up any sound(when I insert the mic cable/jack into my combo audio jack). The mic get recognised but doesn't pick up any sound, nd also my internal laptop mic works. So I tried it with my friend's headset and his mic didn't pick any sound either. Well then I tried using a Headset adapter(this one : http://amzn.to/1Uepclb), But the same results. Then I bought a usb Sound card(This one : http://amzn.to/1YtHoHC), didn't solve the issue either. I have searched everywhere for a solution but couldn't find it anywhere. The reason why I use a external mic is because my internal mic picks up too much noise. I have Tried the following :1.Updated all my Drivers.2.uninstalled my audio drivers and reinstalled them(Devive manager meathod)3.Tried inserting only the headset microphone cable in the audio jack4.Tried combinig the cable using a headset adapter and also using a usb sound card However when I select Agc(auto gain control) under custom tab in microphone properties it goes up half a level, but it still doesn't regonise any sound.  Also when I select listen through this device(in headset microphone properties), I hear a loud screeching noise(like rubbing sand paper together - static noise I guess), although this happens only when the micrphone volume is above 80%.  Please help me resolve this issue. My Lenovo Y510p isnt working, Im on my phone but ill show a video of whats happenning: https://youtu.be/d1nhfJ3PUZ0So my laptop will only turn on for a few seconds before shutting back off and then trying tobshut back off. I cant go into bios, it still crashes after a few seconds. Also a weird thing is itll be stuck in that restarting loop until i plug my charger in and then it just wont turn on at all? It first happened a few months ago but i took it to the shop and they said i was working just fine. Worked for another month, and then did it again, and then it lasted yet another month now doing thia again. The same thing every time. I had it worling yesterday, somehow it just started spontaneously working, and then after shutting it off today it started to loop again. I dont know whats wrong with it??

Hi forum, my lenovo 2-14 has been lying around for about a year untouched. so i decided to dig it out my closet and open it up.when i powered it on the keyboard backlight would light up and then the laptop would reboot every 4 seconds. i opened it up to see if there was something wrong. everything looked ok. powered it on again, the fan would start spinning then it would reboot again. i removed the ram stick and try to power it on, now the laptop would power on with no reboot. i tried the ram stick on another laptop and it would run just fine. i tried the other slot on the lenovo but the outcome was the same, reboot every 4 seconds. tried different ram stick none would work. is there anything i can do to so it would boot, maybe the slots are faulty? i also resetted the bios but still the same

Check Smart Audio (if not loaded in taskbar), you'll see it in control panel. Lenovo has its own master controls. There maybe another but it doesn't hit me (waiting for my morning coffee).
