A:additional hdd

Hi, It uses M.2 SSD:   Yes it has room for a normal HDD (up to 9.5mm thick) but you need to buy part 856352-001 to connect it. Please note: You can't do it yourself, this will void warranty for sure. Regards.

I bought my computer with 2 GB of ram installed ( two X 1GB) . Now I have Vista Ultimate 32 bit and Im looking to get another gig. My problem is that I cant find my brand of RAM and Im afraid to mix different brands of RAM.

I was told that having different brands of RAM is not a big deal as long as the voltage is the same. I dont know how to find out how many volts my RAM is. All it says on the stick is pqi MAB42GUOE-X2 DDR2 800 1 GB Dual Channel.

Any suggestions?

Thank You.

Because I do a lot of recording music using my CD-RW burner and work with graphics, I'd like to add additional RAM. Currently, I have 128 MB of RAM (SDRAM) on a 700 Mhz Pentium III(and 100 BUS) with Windows 98 SE. (I made a mistake in not getting 133 BUS!)

I'm thinking of adding 256 RAM, putting it in the first slot because it's the fastest RAM, and the 128 MB RAM will be in the 2nd slot. How much RAM will I actually end up with performance-wise as a result of this combination?

I'm wondering if this will be significantly better than just adding another 128 MB of RAM? I only have 3 slots that hold 1 stick of RAM each, and I may add more RAM again in the future.

Also, what are the most reliable brands of RAM to get? Micron? Kingston?

Thanks for your comments!

Please help. I recently installed an additional 512Mb of ram to my pc. I had 2 x 512Mb installed previously. in slots 1 & 2 and installed the new ram in slot 3. The pc still only says that there is 1024 of ram installed, although when i run pc wizzard it shows all 3 sicks of ram and gives the details of the ram as well. i have tried fitting a single ram in each of the slots 1, 2 & 3 and re-booted each time and carried this out on all sticks, prooving the ram and slots are ok. I then tried a combination of 2 sticks, with a stick in slot 1 & 2 the systems shows 1024Mb, with a stick in slot 1 & 3 the system shows 1024Mb but with a stick in slot 2 & 3 the system shows 512Mb.
The spec on the motherboard says that it can handle up to 3Gb of ram. I am hoping that this is a case of updating software / drivers etc. to allow the system to recognize all of the ram, but not sure how to proceed, and would appriciate any help you can offer.

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 desktop in which I have 1 Gig of RAM. Lately I have decided to add another Gig of RAM. I opened the case and found that instead of placing a one Gig RAM Card, Dell had placed two 512 meg RAM cards. They are in the #1 and #3 slots. I have a one Gig RAM card from another machine that I would like to place into the first machine. Can I do this safely and, if so, which slot should it be placed into? Thanks

Your combination is good and solid. Nothing gives 100% protection. The biggest factor is your surfing habits and the sites you visit. Discretion and and common sense in surfing go a long way toward keeping you safe.
There is another layer that you could add - a router with a hardware firewall. A hardware fire wall is by far the most secure. However, it will not protect you if you download malicious software.

I have a Compaq Presario 5000 AMD Athlon Xp Computer that runs slow and I would like to add some additional memory to help get some better performance out of it, I need some input on what would be good to try. This has been a very good computer and only serves the needs of Internet browsing and email. It's not my only computer but it's the one that I don't want to dump a lot of cash and time into. Is there any other options to help it out?

Processor - AMD Athlon XP 1700
CPU Clock - 1466.7 MHz (11.0 x 133.3 MHz DDR)
Current Memory - SDRAM PC 133 256 x 2

I have some spare memory which is PC2100 DDR266 1 @ 256 MB

I assume that since the current memory is running at 133 MHz and the additional memory runs at 266 MHz that if I install the additional memory it will run at the slower speed of 133MHz. Is there still a benefit by adding another 256MB of memory even if it will run at the slower speed or would I be better off finding some additional memory that runs at the current speed.

Last year, I got a bad virus on my pc & had to get it worked on. Not sure what the idiot guy did but when I got my pc back, he had unplugged the 2nd HD I had installed & forgot to plug it back up. He told me it was as simple as sticking the ribbon cable back in. I tried this and now when I boot up, I get "file record segment XXXX is unreadable". He never would repair it and Ive given up getting him to fix it but now I need to know how to get that data off of that HD if possible. I have a new pc now so I can transfer it over IF I could get it to read. I remember when I had the 2nd HD installed, it wasnt an easy process so now IM wondering what, if anything I can do to get it to read it without erasing the data. If someone can tell me what to do I would appreciate it. Thank you.

A:HELP! Problems with additional HD in XP

It sounds like some of the data on the drive is corrupted but you may be able to recover some data if the drive is functioning. Since you said it uses a ribbon cable I'll assume it's PATA drive.

One method would be to get an external enclosure and just plug it in via USB or ESATA. If you want to try to install it into the new machine you'll need to check and see what , if any, available connections there are inside the PC. Newer PC's usually use SATA drives and connections so you may have an issue installing it internally.

Hi, I am not technical so bear with me... I have an Advent 3112 2.53gz pc originally with 512mb ddr. Because sometimes everything is so slow, This week I have replaced the 512 with 1gb dimm. All is ok if I dont do anything that uses a lot of memory (games etc), if I am on facebook using a games application the pc now closes down after I have been using it for about 10 mins. I thought it might be a problem with the memory card I have therefore replaced the new card with the old 512mb card and the problem occurs with that as well now. I have put the new one back in and my pc is recognising the new card as it is showing 1gb in system information. I am not sure why I now have a 'shutting down' problem when either card installed. Should I be doing something other than installing the card and switching back on??

Look forward to any suggestions

Yes. I dont know what your setup is but you should have a NAT router and software firewalls on all computers. I dont know comodo's product, so I cant comment but I like eset smart security because it is both a real time antifvfirus/malware and a firewall.

I want to link another pc running XP home also to my laptop. Both have P3 1g.

I want to transfer the majority of files on my laptop to this pc and keep it as a slave.

Is this difficult to do? How exactly can i do this?

Also, with the transfer of alot of files, will my laptop operate faster or is this a myth?

A:Additional pc link up

You could link your laptop to your PC with a ethernet cable - you may need to add LAN cards if the MB's are not already equipped for LAN.

This would enable the transferring of files.

Not sure it will speed up your laptop that much though.

Defragging the drive, running adaware and spybot and doing a clean on the registry might bring that about without off-loading files.

Hi. I am trying to seek additional help because I am facing a problem... well I want to create a solution to make things more convienant for my co-workers. What I am trying to do is to add an additional context menu to IE's right click when over an image and the user would click Send to Photoshop. The image would then be opened up in photoshop. I have acquired the context menu when I right click over an image but I do not know the key value to actually send the image. I have an Export to Excel which works so I have already tried copying that and modifying the path but to no avail. I even tried to create a batch file that I could use to launch photoshop with from the registry but that did not work either. The batch file works flawlessly but it carries no image data over. I have not successfully been able to launch my batch file from the registry. Does anyone know the correct key values? Thanks

Can you add usb ports via an internal "splitter cable" rather than internal/external usb hubs to a PC/Motherboard ?

My board has two additional usb slots/ports on the board. I know there are external/internal multiple port available...but is there an internal "splitter" where I can take my 2 on-board ports and slit one into 2-4 additional cables ports (still inside the box) and then run the 4 internally split connectors/ports (off one on-board port) to regular internal front or rear bay hubs ?

So...if I have one on-board port spit internally into 2-4...can I then add 2 available bay slots of up to 4 ports each...rather than limited to one 4 port internal front/bay hub if i do not split the on board port ?

Hope I am clear on this...TR

A:Additional usb ports

There are several ways to add USB to a PC, add on cards internally in an available slot, there are 4 in 1 splitter adapters available making 1 USB port into 4 USB ports, there are dedicated powered USB hubs giving 2-7 USB port depending on the configuration and non powered ones as well but you need to know how much power your USB ports utilize to make an educated decision on which is your best course.

My system is running with a PATA maxtor 40GB HDD and i just bought a Western Digital 250GB 16MB buffer SATA2 HDD, since storage is very very limited at 40.

I plugged the SATA cable correctly, power cables too. Bios showed that my WD2500KS (my new HDD) is connected. But when i'm in Windows, I can't see the drive in My Computer. It's not even in the "Disk Management" under "Computer Management".

I'm not planning on configuring any RAID. Just wanna use it as it is.

I tried to install Windows on my new SATA HDD by pressing the F6 key and using the required files from the floppy and it seemed to work. I can divide my WD2500KS into partitions and the setup allows me to install Windows on one of the partitions but I didnt because my OS is in my PATA maxtor, and I just wanna use my WD2500KS as an additional HDD.

What did i miss? Do i need to install a driver? How do i do that?

My desktop works with Win98 1st and has two USB ports. Needing an extra port, I purchased an USB card for PCI slot. It doesn't work, The system simply doesn't recognize it.
Then I read a small script in the manual booklet (not appearing on the package!), stating: "This USB card is meant for computers without any USB support on board".
Is there anything I can do?

A:Additional USB card

update the driver, and if that doesn't work, take the card out and put it back in again. and if your system has a PCI modem card, try taking it out. i've had a 98 system not work with USB because of modem, oddly enough.

I have recently rebuilt my machine and added a new 500Gb SATA HDD as my system drive, I now want to connect my 'old' HDD (IDE) again so that I can retrieve the data off of them and establish them for backups. After I install the drives they are picked up in the BIOS Screen but when I get into Windows XP (SP2) I can't see the drive through com manager or my computer. ANy idea if there is a util that I could run to "install" the HDD?

any help is much appreciated.

Hello forum,

I just bought the Patriot Viper Series PC2-8500 1066MHz 2x2GB and added it to my existing 2GB of Muskin HP2-8500 RAM to make a total of 6GBs. My current RAM setting was 5-5-5-15 2.1-2.2v, which is what the new RAM had recommended as well. The system had crashed twice since running both sets of RAM...

Can someone please tell me if these RAM sets are compatible or is something wrong with my Bios settings. Any help to get my system stable and running will be greatly appreciated!

My current system is as follows:

Gigabyte pa-p35-ds3r
QQ6600 2.4GHz
EVGA Ge-Force 8800GTS
Mushkin 2GB HP2-8500
2x Seagate 500GB 7200
Corsair 620HX

My Bios settings is as follows:

DRAM CAS# Latency: 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
DRAM RAS# Precharge: 5
DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge: 15
DRAM TRFC: 55 (Refresh to ACT Delay)
DRAM TWR: 6 (Write to Precharge Delay)
DRAM TWTR: 11 (Rank Write to READ Delay)
DRAM TRRD: 4 (ACT to ACT Delay)
DRAM TRTP: 6 (Read to Precharge Delay)
Static tRead Value: Auto
Static tRead Phase Adjust: Auto

Dram Voltage: 2.0 (2.0-2.2v)

I have also attached the minidump file.
Thank you again for your time.

A:Additional RAM causes CRASHES!!!

Both dumps point to memory corruption
Double check your bios settings for ram voltages/timings, if your OCing dont til this is sorted
I would download and run (preferably overnight) memtest 86, this will stress the ram and tell you if you got a bad stick

In order to use a hard drive you have to set up a partition and format that partition. Think of it like this the partition is like a book and the format is like the pages of the book.

You know how some motherboards allow you to plug in an additional 4-Pin connector with the 24-Pin connector? Like, right next to it.

My computer is a DELL XPS400/1Gb memory/256Mb video memory operating Windows XP Pro 2005 MCE. I am currently using a Brother All-In-One MFC-5840CN. My son bought an Epson Perfection V200 Flatbed scanner so that he can scan slides and negatives. Is it necessary to load the software that came with the Epson? Can I use the Brother scanner driver, will it work? The way I've always understood it was that all you need is a twain compliant driver, which is on the Epson CD as Arc-Soft Photoimpression. I just don't want to cause a problem since the computer is running so well. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

If XP Pro did not, via plug and play, install the scanner, I would go to DIRECTLY to the Epson site, isolate your particular scanner and check out their options for it. They also update their drivers on regular basis and often.

I have a flatbed Epson scanner....and because my old camera employs twain drivers....I had some issues using the more complex Epson software in XP Pro, but not, oddly on my laptop where i run XP Home.

But I do believe the Epson drivers provided on their site R the only way to go and are quite proprietary. I would SOOO not mess with any other brand's software.

Hi all, I'm seriously considering a P70, but the storage options Lenovo offers in their configurator are obscenely expensive -- 3x to 4x above market value. So I want to install my own. Specifically, I want 2 M.2 units and 2 Hard Drives. I'm aware that the second hard drive will have to replace the optical drive, and that it will require this hard drive adapter. So far, so good. What's not clear to me is if I need the special ThinkPad Mobile Workstation Storage Kit that is mentioned here. I would imagine so, but the Lenovo kit that this official post links to no longer exists! And I can't find anything similar by searching for P70 accesories, either. Nor by searching the ostensible model number of the kit. Futhermore, this post also points to non-existent products for installing SATA and M2 devices. So what's going on? Do P70s now come with the required mounting hardware (be it installed in empty bays or in the box)?

Thanks toddy89

A:1 or more additional monitors - how??

If you have/get a card that supports two monitors, it's no problem. You just connect both to the card, setup the way you want it to be displayed(clone, extend desktop, etc.), and it should work. I've used nvida cards to do this, but ati cards can do it as well. Some cards have a dvi port and an analog port. In that case you'd need a dvi to analog(vga) converter to have 2 crts.

I got a refurbished computer for my son. It has AVG free 8.0 and Spybot S&D. Do I also need a firewall or does Spybot act for that. Spybot's not a firewall right?? Thanks

A:Do I Need Additional Firewall

Spybot is NOT a firewall, so yes you do need a firewall. My advice-if you want to purchase a firewall, see if what you are interested in has a trial offer.Install it, use it and get a feel for it. If it slows your system down, or you don't like it uninstall and find something else. You wouldn't want to pay for something that doesn't play nice with your computer.Another option-there are excellent free programs available. You can view a list of Bleeping Computer recommended free programs HERE:

I've used this AV in a pc a few months ago and i was impressed,so would like to keep AVG resident with BitDefender on-demand.

Is there any reason i shouldnt team the two up?

Hi all,
I'm a little confused at something going on with my Toshiba Satelite laptop. I recently updated the RAM from 256 to 1Gb, i wothwhile investment i would have thought. After installing the new memory i rebooted and went to system to make sure all was right and the change had been registered. The Gb of ram was there but now the chip was reading as a 1.19Mhz instead of a 1.8. Now i think i've seen this happen before but can't be sure. it doesn'ty make much sense to me and would indicate a drop in performance surely. Can anyone help me with this and explain whats goin on.
One other thing, to maximise the effect of upgrading memory what settings should be changed in Windows? (Virtual memory etc).

You folks have been very helpfull so far so just want to say thanks for help on previous posts.

A:Effect of additional RAM

Are you sure it was 1.8ghz before upgrading the Ram ? All I can think of was that the FSB got lowered to 100mhz ( 12 * 100 -> 1.2ghz ) when you added the extra Ram & that you need to set it back to 133mhz ( 12 * 133 -> 1.6ghz ).

What CPU does that laptop have ?

I need to add a second 'D' partition without affecting the

I need this partition as my backup/recovery software insists on using 'D'. This software was supplied with my laptop.

I have found info on how to do this with a new hard drive but not with one which is already in use.

Appreciate any suggestions.

A:Add additional HD partition

Unless you have some free unpartitioned space already on the hard drive, you will need some third party software like Acronis Disk Director to resize an existing partition and then to create a new one.

I would recommend doing a complete backup first that you can restore from in case of problems.

Here is what we are trying to do. We currently have a network set up at our company with a Comcast gateway and a router attached to that gateway serving as an access point. Everything works fine but we are looking to expand our back office and add more hardwired terminals in the room. We currently only have 1 ethernet port in the back room and it feeds our server which is attached directly to the Comcast Gateway via a static IP. What we need to do is figure out a way to split the internet connection coming out of that single ethernet port and feed it to multiple computers in the room without affecting the server. Can this be done and if so which piece of hardware would be the best option to go with?

Good morning all,

I recently began getting the BSoD with the above mentioned error. I assumed the problem was RAM since my PC would run for 15 to 30 minutes before getting the error and crashing, so I replaced the RAM. Unfortunately, the problem persisted.

I then ran a checkdisk on my primary drive (SSD) and no problems were found.
I ran a Malwarebytes scan and no problems were found.
I removed my secondary drive (HDD) because it was very old and was only being used for backup, just in case.
Unfortunately despite all of that, the BSOD happened again, within the typical ~25 minutes of being powered on.

My page file size was set to 400MB (minimum recommended for dump files), but I changed that setting to completely disable page files - however I did not reboot afterwards, and the problem happened again last night before the new setting took affect. Unfortunately I do not currently have a crash dump because that PC is at home and I am currently at work.

My next step was going to be to return the new RAM and replace the SSD, with a fresh Windows install. Before I do that though, I was wondering if anyone else can offer any insight?

Windows 7, Intel i5 2500K, ASUS P8Z68-V LE motherboard. Computer has been functioning perfectly for approximately 3 years until this problem began.

Thank you!

One of my work mates has been asked to teach a class at another company. The companies clients will be invited to attend and must bring their laptop and have wireless capabilities as they will need to connect to the internet for training. My problem - this other company has no in-house IT support, does have wireless capabilities, not firewalled, but encrypted. It appears (based on what they know) that the wireless AP can handle approx. 10-13 laptops connecting before it tanks and either starts dropping connections or is so slow internet times out. Since they have no in-house IT support and neither do we, both companies have asked me to solve the problem with the twist being that we want to be able to go to several other locations and do these classes with similar limitations. The wireless AP or router (don't know which would be better) needs to be able to support 30 - 40 laptop connections and we need to be able to plug it into either the existing wireless router (depending on what the other company has) or unplug the existing AP and plug ours in without having to go into the other companies server to configure it. What AP or router would you recommend we buy that can handle 30-40 wireless connections? If the other company is using a wireless router can we plug ours into their router without having conflicts? Can we unplug their AP and plug ours in without having to reconfigure everytime? And what am I missing - I know just enough to know I don't know enough! Thanks... Read more

A:Adding Additional Connectivity

You will require a number of WAP's to support 40 users, I'd say at LEAST four, and probably more like six. If you try connecting 40 wireless users to one WAP, access will be like watching grass grow!

Hi there @NawajArsM,Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you are looking for help with a DisplayPort connection.I am happy to give you a hand with this. Please post the full product number for your computer. See the following, if you need help with that information. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? Looking at the description of DisplayPort -, it may be better to try a DisplayPort to VGA adapter since your display has VGA as well and the VGA adapter for DisplayPort does not need external power to function unlike an HDMI adapter. Other than the DisplayPort, you could also look at the possibility of a USB video adapter to connect an external display. Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Can anyone out there give me a "leg up" on how to go about adding an additional LCD monitor to my system? I'm completely in the dark as to how to go about it. My display card (ATI Radeon ProXT 9800) supports an additional monitor.

Perhaps someone knows a link that I might go to that gives instructions on how to go about this.

Thank you.

A:Additional Monitor Setup Help

Bobby, the best place to get good directions is the manual that came with the card. There is probably extra setup info and instructions on the installation CD.

A:Additional disk for backup

Here is the Service Manual: Manual See p. 44 It would seem the laptop is running the OS from a solid state drive mSATA type or there would not be two open bays for full 2.5 inch wide SATA hard drive.  For pure storage, what you need is a 2.5 inch wide 7mm or 9.5 mm thick SATA laptop drive like this: That is 1 TB of storage for $60. Also, if you do not have it already you need the hard drive caddy/sled kit to hold the drive in the bay: Quoting the Manual: The hard drive bracket, cover, and screws are included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number 734280-001. The OS will continue to run from the SSD and when you install a blank drive you can initialize it and format it in disk management and have a place for a lot of storage. 2 TB drives are available if you need even more space. Theoretically you could install 2 x 2 TB and have 4 TB of storage. You can make a partition on one of these drives and set up Windows backup/file history to make an image with a system backup at regular time intervals so if the mSSD goes bad you pop in a new one and recover the laptop to exactly the state it was in when last backed up. The rest of the add-in drives you can use for working storage.  If this is "... Read more

I have a Windows 2003 server with a shared LaserJet P2055 PCL6 printer attached and a 32-bit driver installed. When trying to add the printer to a 64-bit Windows 7 machine, an error is generated (0x0000007e).  Under the Additional Driver of the the share, there's an option to add a 64-bit driver, however it requires the install location of the driver.  I've downloaded the P2055_default_install_v6.1_ww.exe install file, but I can't get the driver out of there.

My account is working but when I set up the additional account either as a second Computer Administrator or as a limited account - neither works. As soon as I click on the additional account it goes to the first screen with all the icons on but when I try to click on an icon (internet explorer etc) the screen freezes. An error comes up which says RUNDLL. I have to close the computer down to get out of that screen. I am using Window XP

have dell inspiron 6000 and installed 2gb of memory, replacing 512mb that came with the laptop. when i restarted, black screen with white print said it detected new memory and choice of f1 or f2. chose f1, "continue," and computer seems to run faster except when using internet which i suppose is more a function of my dsl speed and not my memory. really do not know.

f2, if i recall correctly, was to establish some kind of setting. figured choosing f1--continue--was the easy way out. should i have or should i now reset my computer to tell it something re the 2gb just installed?

thanks for your help.

I have a Dell L800r PC - Intel PIII 833 Mhz, Windows 98 DE, 128 MB SDRAm and 20 GB HDD.

I tried ti upgrade my PC with another 128 MB SDRAm and 160 GB HDD. although my BIOS recognizes the new drive, I am unable to format it. When I run fdisk the integrity check does not move beyond 1%. This is with my original 128 MB Ram

Also my PC does not boot when I add the additional 128 MB SDRAM.

Does anyone know what could be wrong. Do you think my motherboard is not compatible to support the 256 MB SDRam and 160 GB Drive. Any clues ??

I thought I would ask you guys before I take back to the store to return.

OK, heres what Im working with: eMachines Model: ET1331G, AMD Athlon II X2 235e Processor 2.7GHz, 7 GB RAM, 650 W Power Supply, 64-bit Win7SP1, 750GB SATA HDD (Primary).

Im trying to install 2 WD 300GB IDE HDDs that were stock in another PC. One was a Master and one was a Slave. Ive put the jumper on the Slave PIN slot on the former Master drive and tried hooking them both to the IDE ribbon, with the old Master hooked to the Master port. I have 1 IDE port on my motherboard and a typical 3 port ribbon cable. I have the 2 additional HDDs powered up and screwed in place, but when I try to power up the PC with all 3 HDDs hooked up, it says Slave1 is BAD and Windows wont boot up from MY stock SATA HDD. I can unplug one or the other IDE HDD and it works fine, but it wont work with both "new" ones hooked up. So, obviously something is not right. Please help.

P.S. As of the time of this post, the "new" HDDs are NOT wiped. The old Master has a WIN7 OS and other junk on it and the old Slave has files and stuff on it. They are from my kids PC and Im waiting on his new HDD to arrive. Once I have transferred the data to his replacement HDD, I will be wiping them. If thats the solution to my problem, then I apologize for wasting time, but it doesnt seem like that should matter. But, I will admit ignorance on this particular subject.

A:Trying to Install Additional HDDs

Check the jumper charts again. If it is a CS cable, try CS. Some drives also have different jumper settings for when there is another drive present and when there isn't. Check both charts and don't assume the jumpers for both follow the same pattern.

Check BIOS, too. Look in general at drive settings, but especially at boot priority to be sure that one of those drives is not set to boot before your SATA.

Hi, I want to install additional speakers (2). currently I have eMachines PC, & HP monitor which is where speakers are. The speakers I want to install are eMachines, but came with one of my first pc's. The sound quality is superior to any others I've had. I have the speakers that came with the eMachines PC I now have, but I haven't used them. I just kept using monitor spkers. Not great but got by till I decided to use media player more (didn't have time for extras till now. was so tired of pc after doing necessary work & tasks that I didn't bother with the fun stuff).

Anyway, these speakers are ones I would like to have on this PC, also need to know if I can leave the monitor speakers active & use all 4 speakers?

I don't know much on this subject, but i'll do the best I can to inform u with info u need. I thank the good Lord for link you provided. What I can tell you is there is a port on PC to connect speakers & of course I have usb cables (if needed). Original cables & power supply cord are in tact & everything is like new.

I'm sorry, don't know more to tell you, but if you need to ask questions, i'll try my best to answer them.
Many thanks for your help & your unselfish willingness to help us. I commend you & appreciate time & everything else you sacrifice in order to give of yourself in a tremendously huge way. Many of us should take lessons from you. What a better world we'd l... Read more

A:Install additional speakers

Hi K, and welcome to TSG.

Assuming the monitor speakers are getting their audio through a stereo 3.5 mm mini-plug that is plugged into the audio output jack on the the back of the computer and the speakers you wish to add have the same type of plug, you should be able to use both sets of speakers at the same time. You would need a splitter cable with one 3.5 mm mini-plug feeding two 3.5 mm mini-jacks.

Greetings everyone !

I am a new user. I recently bought a new desktop and I am seeking your advice on something. The desktop I bought is the Packard bell bare-bone PC win an Intel core i3 3240 processor. ( The built in graphics card is abysmal so I am thinking of buying an additional one. My question is: IS this desktop able to support it ? The case only has some USB ports behind so I wonder if and how I will be able to connect it. Any ideas ?

I am looking at buying a Lenovo Flex 14 at a reasonable price but Im struggling to find if I have options that I want for HD.
I was going to go with a 1TB Hybrid drive but Im hearing bad reviews on them. The SSD that comes with it isnt near enough storage for me.
Then I thought, I could keep the SSD for the OS if I could install and additional HD for storage.
Can anyone tel me if there is a slot for an additional drive either as M.2, NGFF, mSATA or with an expansion using the optical drive slot?
Lenovo isnt very forthcoming with information on this that I can find.

A:Lenovo Flex 14 additional HD

According to the reviews I have read there are different versions of the flex 14. Some come with a 128Gb SSD, others come with a 500gb HDD. Also in the different version there are different CPUs. None of the reviews mention an optical drive and from the appearance of the case I see no ports that you could install one. Judging by the size of the case it doesn't appear to have a slot for a second hard drive.

I recently ran tdsskiller on my kids computer and found nothing to worry about. For the heck of it I changed the parameters to include the additional options to verify file digital signatures and detect tdlfs file system.

Upon running the scan again it found 9 files as unsigned. Marked them as supsicious and classified as medium risk.

Is this anything to be concerned about?

Thank you for your time.

A:tdsskiller additional options

Hello, probably OK, but post the log..Note: By default, the utility outputs the log into system disk (it is usually the disk with installed operating system, C:\) root folder. The Log have a name like: TDSSKiller.Version_Date_Time_log.txt
