Screen cracked on Hp envy x360 serial number [personal information removed]. The screen is cracked and every so often the screen shakes from side to side or zooms in and out on its own.
I need a link to either the screen or screen and digitizer
My duaghter cracked the digitizer glass on her laptop, but it still works fine after disabling the touchscreen. I know I can buy another digitizer glass and replace it, but if the lcd itself is still functional can you just remove the cracked glass and use it as a non-touchscreen laptop?More replies
Anyone know if the new Spectre x360 released in October 2016 supports digitizer pen? HP customer service does not seem to know and none of the early reviews say anything about it. I'm really disappointed with my HP Computer. When I switch to tablet mode the display doesn't rotate and I have 2 updates that constantly fail to update. I've read several post from user with the same problem (screen rotation) and the Ctrl-Alt-Up Arrow doesn't work. I'm really frustrated and checking my receipt to see if I can return this HP computer and get the Lenovo.More replies

i'm considering purchasing HP envy x360 15t, my only problem is that i've read many posts complaining about vertical lines that appear on the screen of the laptop. It seems like a common problem on this model and i'm wondering if this problem is still exsited in the models that are sold in the HP online store-and if so, does it have any solution?thank you!More replies
Bought a brand new Envy last Thursday, touchscreen did not work. Called support and they remotely worked on it for a few hours ultimately having to restore to factory settings, still did not work. Exchanged laptop at store yesterday and the touchscreen on this one does not work either. Per the sales person at the store the touchscreen should work with computer in laptop or tablet mode, is this correct? Is there a known issue with these that I should choose another model? Is there something that has to be enabled? I have checked the drivers and all is newest version and enabled. Thanks for any help.More replies
I have a hp spectre x360 model 13-4005dx and its LCD digitizer is cracked. My lab top still has the warranty but the customer service told me it is not under warranty. When I search the web too many people have the same problem. does Hp has any plan to solve this issue? how I can replace the digitizer, I went trough the pdf that you uploaded but there was nothing about changing the lcd digitizer.
Hi @Amir8, Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand from your posts that you are having an issue with your HP Spectre x360 - 13-4005dx Notebook and the cracked LCD screen. The new Panel will come with a display panel cable, microphones, hinges, webcam, and wirelessantenna cables and transceivers if ordering from HP. Other companies should be including these parts. I can not confirm any thing other than what HP does. Here is a link to order HP Parts, if you need it. Just select your Country or Region first. Please get back to me how this goes. I've tried everything to make my computer screen flip when I put my computer into "tent" mode. I've gone into the settings and changed it so that it allows my computer screen to auto rotate and it never does. I've changed display settings and have made sure all updates are completed, and nothing seems to work. I have only had this computer for about a month and a half and I haven't used the computer as a "tent" much either. I've had it work before but suddently it stopped and I'm confused as to what I need to do to make it work again.More replies

Hello,I've followed some posts on this support forum, regarding if the new Spectre x360 Kaby Lake (Product# W9B13AV_1 http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/Laptops/hp-spectre-x360-convertible-laptop-13t-touch-w9b13av-1) supports or not an active pen. What we've learned is that this laptop doesn't work with HP Active Pen (Product# T5E12AA#ABL http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/accessories-88342--1/hp-active-pen-t5e12aa-abl) and HP Active Stylus (Product# J4R51AA#ABL http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/accessories-88342--1/hp-active-pen-j4r51aa-abl), based on some answers from the support team on previous posts, and based on the information contained in this page: http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05166879.Some early online reviews stated that there is no support for active pen, Lisa Gade from MobileTechReview said: "The one feature missing from the previous generation is the active digitizer for the optional HP Active Stylus (a Synaptics pen technology). Given how heavily HP has advertised this feature in the previous generation, I'm surprised they removed it. And yes, it's really gone--there's no active digitizer listed in device manager, and I tested both Synaptics pens and Wacom and N-Trig pens just in case they'd switched to a different pen technology. That means you can use your finger or a capacitive stylus like those made for the iPad Air, but not a precise pen with pressure levels and palm rejection."http://www.mobiletechreview.com/notebooks/HP-Spectre-x360-Late-2016.htmSo, Is HP Spec... My ENVY m6-AQ003 x360 touch screen function clicks itself. It clicks really fast in a straight vertical line. I havn't used it in a couple days so when I turned it on and it started clicking my first thought was the mouse was acting up or the touch pad. so I unplugged the mouse and restarted the computer. It continued to do it after the restart so I tried to turn off the touchpad. But the screen kept clicking before I could. Although it has stopped after i played around with it. It seems to keep doing it from time to time a few clicks. I know it is the touch screen function after I realized that the touch screen makes circles where you click and the mouse and touch pad don't. I hope there is a quick fix so I dont' have this problem when I travel in a few days.More replies
I have read through numerous posts and questions regarding this issue with no found solution. My computer is relatively brand new and yet I cannot get it allow the screen to rotate. Not only does it not recognize when i fold my computer over but even when I manually go to press tablet mode i cannot press screen rotation. The screen rotation button in the action center is greyed out so I cannot press it at all. I have tried:Going through the control panel and selecting "Allow the screen to auto-rotate"It automatically unselects it after a while and still won't rotate for the short time that it shows it is allowing it. (yes I hit Apply and OK) Going through System Settings: The "Lock rotation of this display" is set to "on" and will not allow me to change it. Going through regedit and setting the screen rotation to "1" Updating and restarting the laptop. Including manually going through HP's website to update Intel's Virtual Button Driver and Graphics Driver. Please help me find a proper solution, I have had an HP before but this laptop is completely ruining my experience with them.

Hi Akram, you can contact Hp support at 888-999-4747. Unless you have a warranty that covers accidental damage there will be a charge to have the screen replaced. HP's charges are a little high but atleast you know you are getting branded original parts replaced.

What's the difference between the HP Spectre x360 and the HP Envy x360? They both look the same. The only noticeable difference is that HP Spectre x360 has a Radiance Infinity display, while HP Envy x360 has an IPS display. Having the same specs, except for the display, why is the Spectre x360 more expensive than the Envy x360 ? Moreover, I thought that IPS is better than TN, which is my guess that is the technology used for the Radiance Infinity.
Hi, You've got few questions about those products. Well, come to a store and yoy can see the differences. Better still, you can buty 2 machines and compare. For build quality, the HP Spectre x360 is much better than the Envy x360 you can also find Pavilion x360 - we are talking about SPECS and BUILD here about plastics and metals about wood and gold. The designated backlight key also does not work anymore, but its alternate fn command (f5) works.More replies

If you leave the power adapter plugged in dose the led stay amber? That means it is charging. Your troubleshooting describes a notebook with too low of a battery charge to boot into Windows. Let it charge for an hour or so before trying to power it on.5 more replies

Hi, I'm having trouble with Windows Hello. When I first purchased my notebook, Windows Hello was working fine, I had set it up correctly and had been using it successfully for a couple of weeks. Now, it's suddenly not working, and when I try to configure it in settings, there's an error that it cannot find the camera. I've been through the support blogs/forums and tried everything I could find, i.e. updating the software drivers, updating bios, restarting, etc. I have no idea how to get it working again. Hello,I'm having some trouble with my Envy x360 (m6-w103dx). I like it a lot so far and decided it needed a boost, so I took a Crucial BX100 250GB SSD I had and cloned the HDD that came with the laptop to the SSD. Immediately on boot the laptop says the drive's smart status has an issue/failing (which doesn't seem right, the other PC's I've been trying the SSD on aren't showing the same things, and just this morning the SSD was functioning perfectly fine as the boot drive of an older PC)After that the laptop would say "Boot device not found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk" (3F0).So I figured okay, maybe I botched cloning the HDD. I plugged the SSD back into my desktop and wiped it clean, and prepared a Windows 10 USB installer. While I was doing this, I also put the original HDD back in the laptop to make sure it was still functioning properly and the laptop booted up fine just like it used to.I put the wiped/cleaned SSD back into the laptop. I'm still getting the message about the drive's smart status on boot, and "Boot device not found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk" (3F0). So sounds like I just need to install windows...plugged in the Win 10 USB drive, and set bios to boot USB first. After that Windows 10 installer came up just like it normally does but there were no drives detected. I'm pretty stuck at this point. I've tried cloning, wiping the drive and initializing it as MBR, and again wiping it and trying... Read moreMore replies

Hi ambowditch. so, your notebook having issue with no display & caps lock is blink. caps lock blink is actually was an error which is notebook motherboard was try to tell to user.what u need to do is, try to count how many time caps lock is blink. try do following troubleshooting first before u count the caps lock blink. 1. perform power cycle. remove battery & power adapter. then press & hold power button for 30 sec. then plug in power adapter only and power on the unit. make sure battery is not installed. if you lucky, may be the notebook will start with HP Logo and windows will load as usual. but if not, try to count how many time caps lock is blink. thanks. ghost. Laptop will randomly feeze to the point it becomes completely unresponsive and requires a hard reset. This has happened consistently since I've had the laptop. I have contacted HP Support numerous times and continue to get different answers and the run around each time. - All Windows and BIOS updates are ran- I did a clean reinstall of Windows based on recommendation from the chat session. Then I had one agent tell me it was probably malware and needed to send me a recovery disk, then the next person said it was a bad Microsoft update. I've done everything asked and I still have a laptop that is constantly freezing, and this is becoming increasingly frustrating. I've noticed this seems to be a common issue with my model of laptop, and wondering if there is a fix for it. Please someone help me out here.More replies

I've connected it to an external monitor via the hdmi port, and i've disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes, connected AC power. Still not display, no bios post and no HDD activity light. Hello! I have a fairly new Envy x360 that came with Windows 10 preinstalled. I do not like Win10, and have learned that many of my programs won't run on Win10. I want to go back to Win 7 pro, but am not sure the hardware will work with an older OS. Any recommendations on how to do this (get rid of Win10 and install Win 7)? Thanks in advance for your help!
Antarcticgecko Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! With notebooks, the primary problem with trying to run a different OS than the one preinstalled is the need for the specialized HP drivers for the specialized hardware that comes in the laptop. Desktops don't present such difficulties because they tend to use more generic hardware and you can often swap out a piece of hardware if you need to. Laptops don't provide that flexibility. If you will provide the detailed product number of your laptop, I can check to see if HP provides Win7 drivers for it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001We can proceed once you provide the information.Thanks1 more replies

Long story short, I was boarding back home and hit a rock and fell forward therefore breaking the corner of the power button and shatter the touchscreen. I was still workin fine, except the fact that the screen was shattered and the power chip was dangling out of the laptop. It survived a few weeks before the power chip fell out. I couldnt find the time to go to a store to see what they could do. the only thing keeping it alive was the charging power but I fell asleep with the laptop on. Lucky me. I recently purchased an HP Envy x360, assuming that they're would be an endless variety of styluses that I could use for drawing & illustration. So far, most sources indicate that there are no active, bluetooth, or otherwise pressure sensitive styluses that work with the Envy x360.Does anyone have a solution? Is there one?

I have this HP ENVY x360 - 15-u111dx and I would like to add a SSD to this laptop for the OS to reside on. According to the HP Support Assistant, it is a product number J9H90UA#ABA.HP Support page for this laptop provides me a link to this maintenance and service guide, http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04513489. It seems to indicate that it does have the ability to take an SSD in the form factor of "M.2 2280-S3-B-M" And in the product description, it says in the Internal Expansion section that it has this, "One 2280 M.2 daughter board - optional support for SSD"Used space on the C: drive is 90GB. The D: (recovery) uses about 30GB.This leaves me with a few questions.1. Can a SSD be added while keeping the factory 1TB drive installed?2. Can I migrate the OS (and recovery partition) to that SSD, boot to that SSD, all the while not messing the up the ability to do a system restore/recovery of the OEM Windows 8.1 software provided by HP?I think step 2 will be the trickiest. If someone knows of a free product to do this, I would welcome that recommendation. I'll also take recommendations for paid software if no free exists. Thanks. Edit: Sorry, I also have a video problem, and must have had that on my mind when I sellected where to post this. Could a mod move this to the correct forum please?
Hey @bob151?,Welcome to the HP Support Forums! This is a great place to find solutions and help from our community! I understand you have some inquiries about upgrading your HP Envy x360. I'd be happy to help with that. From what I could find in the service manual, it looks like your Notebook only supports single drive configuration. It does support up to a 256 GB SSD however, I'm not see a way to add an extra drive for booting. Hope this helps. Please keep me posted. I need help trying to find a stylus that would work for the HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible. This was a recent purchase and I chose the 2 in 1 laptop for the versatility to use it as a teaching tool (writing notes in one note). Any suggestions would be appreciated. I do not want the option of a rubber tip generic stylus but would prefer something that has more sensitivity and pressure as I also have a surface pro at school (the envy is my home computer). So I've been researching for a few months now but have still to no avail found a viable solution/answer anywhere I looked. I have been looking for a stylus to use with my laptop which is a 2-in-1 so I figured it should be able to use one. But if possibly I would really love it to be pressure sensistive so I can draw in Photoshop with ease. It doesn't seem that any pen has been actually tested on this device though: all the Wacom ones haven't been tested, some say the HP Active Stylus may work but everyone commenting have the Hp Spectre so I would like to have a definitive answer if someone wouldn't mind helping.More replies

Hello to everybody. This is my first post in this forum since I've always found an answer to my problems but not this time, so sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section.Yesterday my laptop died and I don't know what happened. I was working as usual, and after lunch, I closed the laptop and took a nap. When I woke up I opened the laptop, pressed the "on" button and it didn't start.I continued to do so. Never started. When I press it three lights turn on: the "on" button itself; the caps lock (white light); and the light with discs (hdd?) which is orange. Those three lights turn on when I push the on button, and all of them beeps once.I searched this forums and everybody suggested hard reset. I can't do a hard reset on this one, the tutorials didnt work.I also called HP Support but they couldnt assist me because my warranty expired 5 days ago (so convenient)I didnt hit the computer or nothing. I live alone so during nap time nothing happenned.Any help? Thanks in advance!!More replies
I have three questions regarding my HP Envy which I recieved in September, 2016. 1) how do I find the serial number? 2) how do I correct this system error? AccelerometerStexe - System Error. MFC120U.dll is missing. 3) I have an Espon Perfection V300 Photo Scanner, it works perfectly with Windows 7 on my work laptop. I cannot get the scanner with Windows 10 to work. I am connecting the scanner via a USB. The laptop recognizes the scanner and adds it as a device. However, it does not install any drivers to make the connetion between the scanner and the laptop. I have tried multiple times to download the drivers from Epson.com and still does not work. The system is totally up to date and I know the USB works. This is driving me crazy as I need this scanner to work with this laptop.More replies

Greetings HP Fans. I purchased an HP Envy X360 about 8 months ago. I've noticed over the past couple of months that the display will blink (flicker) off for a fraction of a second on a regular basis. On average ever 20 - 30 secords. I had read that it was a Google Chrome issue, but I've noticed it on everything, programs, apps, etc. It happens in both regular and tablet mode. I've been searching the blogs, but I've not found anything that addresses this particular issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.More replies

My new HP Envy x360 is supposed to have a battery life of 9 hours, but it doesn't. When it is fully charged at 100% the time displayed is 4 hours and 30 minutes. That is no where near the full battery life. What is wrong with my battery?
Granted it does grow from there but the most it has ever grown to is 6 hours and 30 min1 more replies

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the hard drive on this machine? If yes, do I need to fully dissasemble it? (Remove the keyboard and all other stuff)It is very slow I want to replace it with an ssd. Is there any guide on how to do this? I can't find anything on the internet.Thank you
Hi, Actually no official guide which shows users how to upgrade but we normally use a guide called Maintenance and Service Guide to work on the machine. You can download from the following link for your machine: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-x360-Convertible-PC-series/10862127/model/11926717/manua... Page 28 shows you how. Here are the fixes I have tried: Uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and re-startPerformed hard re-set for notebooks with a factory sealed batteryAllowed battery to completely drain, and then re-charge to 100%Within HP Support Assistant:Battery Check - Primary Battery: OKChecked for updates, and installed all Any additional ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Hi @Pink70? ,Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY x360 Convertible PC and issues with the battery charging while plugged in and on. I have checked into this and it would see that is is a power loss issue. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue. If that does not solve this, please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/Case number and phone number appear. They will be happy to assist you immediately. I want to have both HDD & SSD installed on my notebook..
There is just one SATA port and if you want an SSD you have to use an SSD adapter which takes the place of the SATA drive. Your Manual See p. 20. The parts to adapt a solid state drive do not appear to be "spared" i.e. HP does not sell them. Post back with any other questions. Your fastest and best option seems to installing a 2.5 inch SATA SSD as large as you can afford. If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.1 more replies
I'm just wondering why my new Envy x360 is still in "Processing" after 5 days? When I know it doesn't take that long to test. I also know that by 4:00PM EST it is 4:00-5:00AM the next day in most of China. The only change to the standard build is the UHD display. Since the display is the only real possible change to the standard config then there should be some already built like that. Hello. Well like some folks Im having problems with my brand new (Not even a week old) HP Envy x360 15T Notebook.Specs:i5 5200u w/HD5500 Graphics8GB RAM1TB HDDB&O AudioFHD IPS Screen Touch. The issue is: Terrible Crackling Noise, Hiss and Noise problems in Speakers and Headphones.. After doing some troubleshooting myself I pin pointed the issue to the Bang & Olufsen Audio Codec. The issue became aparent when I updated the Realtek Driver to the lastest version last night.. There werent any noises before after upgrading to Windows 10 (The notebook came with W8.1) but after installing the Realtek drivers the noise began. If I unplug the notebook a horrible crackling noise will happen and its in sync with the brightness level of the screen being lower when entering battery mode. If I plug AC the noise will POP and level out. Before installing the Realtek Drivers the only issue I had was ground static in headphone mode, I could hear the HDD spinning on the headphones if there werent any music or sound playing but the noise was muffled If I played anything like music or youtube video. Then with the new realtek drivers the noise was horrible... Crackling Noises and Hiss are completely evident over the music our sound being played, Even on the speakers it is noticeable. New issues on B&O Audio Codec Control Panel:B&O Sound Enhance Has never worked on Headphones but at least the EQ Worked, After the Realtek Driver ... Read more
One thing that did work was disabling multiple audio deviced on the B&O Control Panel that got rid of the Crackling sound in headphone mode... But speaker mode is still affected.5 more replies
I'm interested in the Sony Vaio Flip 15A with i7 Core and Nvidia GeForce 735M. But I also like the HP Envy x360 with Intel HD graphics but no graphics card. I got a few questions...
1) Which one would you buy in general?
2) Which would you buy if you were a casual gamer?
3) Sony stopped making this Vaio 15A. Which laptop is best for availability of parts if you needed to replace parts in the future?
Honestly these are stupidly expensive. I would just get a desktop. I know you want a laptop but for gaming, desktop rigs can be less expensive and easier to modify in the future.
If you were to go with one of those I'd choose the HP because of the Graphics card, the better processor, and a ssd. Although the other one is hybrid at 1TB and 16GB flash with 16 GB DDR3 1600 I would rather have the better graphics and processor if I were going to spend a stupid amount of money. I'm not saying you are stupid btw lol. You can always get more RAM, but it is not always easy or even possible to switch out the graphics card or processor. Even though switching out the processor IS possible, if you are not familiar with hardware I would NEVER recommend that.
But yeah if I had to choose it would be the HP
Hi,I just recently bought this laptop. The only issue I have with it is the slow HDD. If I replace the 1TB HDD with SSD, will it void my warranty? I know that I have to lift the keyboard side up to be able to do so, but I just want to make sure that I do not void the warranty. Feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.More replies

Hi, I just got a new HP Envy x 360 in July 2016 and a new HP monitor 27es Display in mid-August. It was connecting to the monitor by using HDMI fine till last week. From a week ago (around Labor day), it stopped recognizing the monitor.I have an old HP laptop, and it is fine connecting to the the monitor by VGA. So, it is not the monitor's issue.I remember I did the recommended HP update around the same time. I am suspecting that update caused the issue with HDMI. Can anyone help? Thanks.More replies
I have tried two separate Kennsington locks for this notebook and neither will work. There doesn't seem to be enough space inside the lock to turn the locking mechanism the required 90 degrees. The problems started ever since a regular windows update and bios update through HP Support Assistant went through. Following those updates, my laptop now stutters and lags every 5-10 seconds whenever I play a game WHILE CHARGING. This was not a problem before the updates. Attempting to solve the problem, I reset my laptop a couple times and started from scratch. I made sure battery settings were at max or balanced. Those haven't worked. The thing is, I can play League Of Legends and other games on high quality on only the battery. Only when it's charging does it begin to stutter and lag. It's been a couple months since this problem came and I have yet to figure out a solution. I am dying at the fact that a 700$+ laptop is making gaming ineffective in comparison to my 6 year laptop.More replies

I have the ENVY x360 model m6-aq103dx. I bought it because I was told it is compatible with the HP active PEN. I bought the pen and tried it, it didn't work. I called HP for the TENTH time to ask about the compatibility and set up. I was told the active STYLUS would work, so I bought the stylus. It doesn't work either. The packages list which computers the pen and stylus are compatible with; none of which list the ENVY x360. I would understand if the HP "techs" had told me that my computer is not compatible but instead they say "it may be if it has the right digitizers/driver/capability/etc." So do I need a different computer or is there a way to make this one communicate with either of the writing tools I have bought??More replies
