Hey all, sorry if this is the wrong spot for my post but I'm new around here. Yesterday, my Ideapad's battery malfunctioned when it was around 20%, and when I tried to plug in the ac adapter, it wouldn't charge. Eventually the battery ran down to 0, and now I'm stuck with a dead battery and laptop. Is there anything I can do? I initially thought it was the charger, and I ordered a new one, but even the new charger won't charge it either.

Yesterday at night i was normally using my laptop when it started making a really loud fan noise (see video). it normally makes quite a loud noise but this time it was really loud. I used the dust removal but it made no difference and when i shut it down it stopped. using it now it hasnt been making the loud sound so i think it mightve been a one off  I always keep it flat on a table so that might have something to do with it and the laptop is out of warranty. I have been thinking about opening the back and cleaning but i dont have the right screwdriver so that will have to wait.another thing - fan dust removal doesnt seem to reduce noise at all.what it usually sounds like

I found the lid replacement but not the front bezel.  If anyone knows of one that is new or used I can purchase please let me know.

A:iso LENOVO IdeaPad U530 touch front lcd BEZEL

It's been awhile since I semi rebuilt my u530 after the hinge failed.  I don't recall it having a seperate bezel at all, the digitizer goes edge to edge and the "bezel" is masked onto the back of the glass.  FWIW, without the digitizer, I used duct tape to hold the screen in and hardware store bought bolts to reattach the lid.  UGLY!  It's been a while and my memory might be foggy, I want to forget about that experience.  If you're rebuilding because of hinge attachment failure?  You should contact Lenovo, even out of warranty and see if you can't get them to cover it.  It's a well-known design flaw.  Good luck!

So when I first turn on the laptop(IdeaPad U530 Touch), I was required to register for a outlook account. Ever since then I have to login to that account to enter. I simply want to turn on my computer and not have to use a sign-in password each time. Would love a clear answer. Thank you for your time.

Battery Issue - Lenovo V570 (Laptop) - Battery Model L09S6Y02

First off I for the most part do not use the battery. It is normally detached from the laptop. I only attach it to periodically charge it and test prior existing charges' performance.

O.K. here is the problem. I attach battery attachment, computer does not make it to the window screen more often than not. When it does, it freezes at the please wait loading screen.

I rarely use the battery at all, but I want all my equipment up and functional. It's life should still be good for I periodically recharge it. I think since I've had the laptop I've only recharged it a total of 6 or 7 times and that's been a year or so.

I, for the moment at least have the battery working power adapter attached. What did I do? I uninstalled Avast (freeware version) ?

I learned from prior experience that running two of any system utility software can cause problems, but it normally restricts itself to what it is protecting. Then I remembered: "If you remove the possible whatever is left however in probable must be the truth."

Next phase of testing is test the battery on it's own.

Hi everybody,I was quite happy with my Lenovo Ultrabook, at least until today.Since this is not the first post about this topic, I want to assure you that I have googled for it at least for some time, but haven't found any solutions / the exact same problem. What happened:I was gaming with a few friends, when suddenly the audio driver seemed to crash, meaning in couldn't hear anything, anywhere.Thinking a quick restart could resolve this issue, I tried to simply reboot the laptop, but it somehow didn't start up.So far the same as in many other posts, although:When I pressed the power button for a few seconds to completely shut it off, and started it again,I noticed, that the screen is somehow "flickering" on and off. It can barely be seen (imagine it turned off, and then the background LEDs turned on on the lowest brightness), with the duration of close to 1 second. If I let the laptop run for awhile, at some point even the CPU fan starts running, although only for 1-2 minutes.Besides, the Power LED is permanently on, but no background lighting for the keyboard (which was turned on before I shut down). Also, I already tried opening the laptop, disconnecting the battery (and the round battery, whatever this one is called), disconnecting the SSD.The one thing I couldn't find was the connection of the display (I'm not sure if it is only this greyish cable on the right side, because there are also some other cables running towards the display, which i couldn't disconnect). After disco... A:U530 Touch doesn't boot

Hi dennlinger ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Since you already done power draining and reseating parts , would pressing the caps lock and nulock show equivalent LED indicator light coming on and off?

Would there be any faint display on screen by checking with a penlight? how about on an external monitor?

Try removing the harddrive and ram and turning it back on .
Is there any beep codes ? any buzzing electrical noise?
Remove the battery and unplug the adapter , Would there be any unusual burnt smell ? Any warm areas specially near the coin cell battery you described?

You can call in lenovo tech support as it may be a no post (power on self test) issue .

Update us how it goes.

I see that other users have had the same issue as what I am having. 9 months after my warranty expired my hinge failed and ripped the plastic off the screen. It was just stuck and was pulling on the screen plastic. My screen no longer comes on. My computer is not yet 2 years old! When I tried calling customer service (in Phillipines - this is how you know a company gave up), everyone pretended to not know anything about this known issue. I requested manager call back several times, and it's been 2 weeks no call back!Furthermore, someone is telling my extended warranty through Visa that this is accidental damage, and you know nothing about this problem, so now they won't cover the damage either.I demand something in writing saying this is a known issue, so that I can at least get it covered though my extended warranty! You clearly know about it, there are quite a few forum posts about it!Last effort, then class action!Thx.

Any updates on the U530 Touch? I am having the same problems as everyone else in these threads 1- a broken hinge and cracked screen. I now have a desktop with no touch screen rather than a laptop with a touch screen, 2 - a lack of response from Lenovo (never got my call within 3 days) and 3 - No local tech will touch it.

Reply from Lenovo Support for my caseWe have received your case that is tied to machine with serial # QBXXXXXXXX. We are currently showing that machine went out of warranty on 7/4/2015. Due to the extreme length since it went out of warranty. At this time Lenovo is not able to offer a free repair on this machine. If we were maybe a few months after it went out of warranty we might have been able to assist. But due to the fact that we are now 11 months out of warranty and we can't cover a machine for such an extended period of time. There has to be a definite end to the warranty. At this time Lenovo will not take any further action on this case. My Response to above messageThank you for your response and looking into this issue at your earliest. Please refer to link here which has listed this issue as widespread issue for Ideapad U530 model and has offered to repair the laptop. Moreover this issue has been widespread issue on your other laptop models as well like U310, U310 touch and U410, U410 touch. This shows that there is design flaw in all of these laptops. Since this is design flaw at company end it will manifest sometime or other. In my case it has happened late since I have been using this laptop with more care comparative to other users who are having same issue earlier in the life of laptop. It is not expected of world class company like Lenovo to keep manufacturing such defective laptop.I have other Lenovo T430 purchased after 3 months of this laptop and it does... Read more

Hi all, I purchased my U530 Touch laptop in January of 2015, then about a year later I had the infamous "broken hinge" issue that a lot of these laptops seem to suffer from. I sent it in to Lenovo and had it fixed though, and haven't had any other issue with it until now. The problem I am now experiencing is a very noticable flickering that moves from the bottom to the top of the screen. Changing the refresh rate only seems to change the rate at which the flickering moves. I noticed that the glossy black portion of the hinge seemed to have a slighly loose feel, and saw the screen flickering issue go away when I pressed into the hinge in the right place. You can feel and hear the plastic moving when pressing into the hinge. If you fiddle with it enough you can get it to a state where the screen doesn't flicker, but it's not an ideal solution. If the laptop gets even slightly bumped or moved, the flickering will come back. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated.

I am getting ghost touches all over my touchscreen, plus the mouse barely works and the keyboard doesn't work at all when the ghost touches are present.  I am running on Windows 10 and have owned this laptop since May of 2014 (purchased new directly from Lenovo.com). This issue is getting worse and worse as time goes on.  Even when I disable the touchscreen capability (via Device Manager/Human Interface Devices) it is  not permanently disabled and it just comes back on randomly, without me enabling it again. If you could tell me a way to permanently disable the touch screen feature, at least that would resolve the main problem for now. Obviously I'd love for my touch screen to work properly though. I've been having this problem for many months now, though in the last month or two it's gotten a lot worse and a lot more frequent (at least once if not multiple times a day).  I am at my wit's end. Thank you.

Hi, I have installed win10 in my U530 and then it starts to be too slow.I recently found out that there is a mSATA SSD (16GB) that was used as cache in previous windows (win8.1).Therefore, I'm looking for a solution to use the SSD as cache in win10 but it seems to be problem in win10, since the ExpressCache is not working properly in this new windows version. Anybody have a solution to this problem?  When I try to run the ExpressCache, it does not find my SSD.In the drivers section for the U530 Touch win10, the ExpressCache is not included, so I tried one for other model (which I don't remember). Thanks in advance.

Because my computer is out of  warrenty for over a year the contact I had with Lenovo has proved to be useless.  I called on Monday 4/25/16 to be told that they could replace the hinges a one time courtesy repair because the hinges they put into this unit were not strong enough to hold the display and they were replacing them with new ones.  I was told I would be called in 3 business days for instructions on shipping.  Upday today 4/28/16 phone call from Lenovo telling me that because they don't make those parts anymore that I would not be eligible for any repairs.  She said the only thing they could do is offer me a 15% on the back end of a purchase from Lenovo for a new computer.  This was totally unacceptable to me and I told the woman I was livid to think a company this large could not make this right...If they knew these hinges were defective every single person should have been compensated for this defect.  Personally I will never buy another Lenovo product as long as I breathe!  Now to spend another $900.00 for a new computer is a HUGE expense.

My Lenovo Y50-70 (Core i7-4720HQ, 8GB RAM, GTX 960M). Would sometimes randomly shut off. Like as I open it, it would freeze, and then I hear a small pop and my laptop shuts off. It would normally turn on and fully load everything after around 20 seconds. But after shutting off; as I try to open it again. it would be MUCH MUCH longer. And performance also seems to be slowed. I updated everything I can, but left the Bios out. After a friend told me about it. I tried to update it too. But even after updating it. it would still randomly shut off. What do I have to do to fix it? Overheating is not an issue, because even when the instance of opening my laptop is DONE. it still shuts off. And after playing CS:GO, Dark Souls 3, or Overwatch after a while. It wouldn't shut off.

Hello, I bought my U530 Touch from Vatan Computer in Turkey, on November 2014. Let me first make clear that the law states the standard warranty period as 2 years in Turkey, so my laptop is still under warranty.  What happened to maybe hundreds of people on this forum happened to me, too. One day, a little over a month ago, when I was opening the lid of my laptop, I felt a resistance and the plastic casing on the left hinge cracked slightly as I tried to open my computer. But when it was fully open, the plastic was cracked and would not get back into its original position and it was clear that closing the lid was not an option anymore. I could see the faulty hinge and some cables from the opening between the screen and the cracked plastic. Thankfully, my screen didn't crack like so many users' here and I was able to use my laptop as a desktop for a few weeks until I could take it back to Vatan Computer, lid open, so that they could send it to service.  I received a message 6 days later stating that I had to pay the quarter of what I had payed for my computer (1000 USD) in order to get it fixed because it was "due to user error". Talking to Vatan computer or technical service on the phone was useless. I tried to explain to them that I take very good care of my computer, I have not dropped it, they cannot find any indication of misuse on the machine, but they wouldn't even listen to me. So I contacted Lenovo Turkey for support. They did n... Read more

A:Lenovo Yoga 500 14 Touch screen issue

Hi there, Alex -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Regarding the ghost punches/ghost touch, there were some isolated issues for that issue on some Yoga 700, in addition to that, there is also a fix for it. Please see this thread.
Can you try the following?

Under theDevice Manager> Human Interface Devices, can you do a right click and disable on anything that says HID-compliant device (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).
When finished, reboot the system and observe if you still get the same issue.

Update us how it goes.

Hello,I am having a problem with my Lenovo U430. Unfortunately for me, despite the notebook is still under factory warranty, I donīt have an official Lenovo Service in my country. So Iīll have to manage myself with this issue. The U430 starts up in a normal way but the screen wonīt work. I plug it to my LED tv with an HDMI cable, and the computer works fine, the problem is in the display. I am wondering what could the problem be, I read something about the video chip or something like that, could be failing on the motherboard. Is there anything that I can do to realise what the problem really is??? I prefer to resolve it miself rather to let anyone open up the computer and make the thing worse than they already are.I am sorry if my english isnīt the best, I think that I manage to explain myself just fine.THANKS

A:Lenovo U430 Touch Display Issue

Hi alemano ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If the laptop is showing display using your external TV then most likely the graphic card would be performing well since external projection of display is an advanced feature .

The problem may be the LCD or LCD cables that you can try to unplug and replug checking if there are impinged cable along the way and in the port.

Herewith is the hardware manual that can help you on the disassembly of top , bottom cover and LCD panel.
The user guide here and service training video would also be a good reference.

Take time to review the steps .
Hope this helps you in your steps.
Update us as it goes.

A:Lenovo u530 right side hinge broken

If the touchscreen isn't broken and it's only the plastic attached to the hinge you can carefully drill through the top cover and put a thin bolt or screw.

The plastic didn't fit back on so I trimmed it.  It'll void the warranty, but what good is a warranty if no one will honor it?

For those of you who are new to this problem or this is the first time, where this issue occurs please check out the following guide--->https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Lenovo-Z510-Battery-Issues/m-p/2248499#M138065        For the rest of us who are facing the same issue for the 2nd time, I have decided to write this post as I saw that there is many of us who have updated our battery firmware and we are still facing the same issue, plus Lenovo staff themselve have not update us on this issue yet. From here onwards, I am going to be addressing the issue based on my experience, so I had updated my firmware on March of 2016 when this problem occurs. After the update everything was working fine as usual until recently around this week or last week the same issue occurs again and again, which is quite devastating for me as I usually use my laptop for presentation.      I hope that Lenovo support team will be able to fix this issue as soon as possible, as I do use my laptop everyday, sometimes in an environment that does not have plug. Hello, first post here.I am at lost with this somewhat few month old Lenovo Y40-80 laptop.Everything is working fine, but whenever I unplug it from the charger, the screen goes black. Like totally black...if you needlessly stare at the black screen for a few seconds you can see very very faint background (which is the desktop itself)...and when plugged back in, the brightness comes back alive again.Brightness controls are working well, drivers are updated. I even OneKey recovered my laptop to its initial state but to no avail. Still has the problem. The laptop is currently at factory state, still functional with that brightness being an issue on battery mode.

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40°. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I had no luck trying driver versions 7.3.3.12, 7.3.4.8 and 7.3.4.13. I would really appreciate your help since this issue makes working in the tablet position... Read more

A:Lenovo S210 Touch broken LCD and Touch screen

Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.

Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.

If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.

I hope this links helps you.
Regards

I am having a message that says "Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached" message that appears after Windows 8.1 starts up. A similar sort of message appears before even Windows boots up, and I need to press the 'Esc' key in order for Windows to boot. This seems to have happened after a recent Windows update. I have uninstalled an reinstalled the Lenovo Power Management Driver but it does not appear to have fixed the issue. My BIOS is the latest version. This issue is on my Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1. Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga is displaying a message stating ?Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached?.

I would suggest you to perform Flee Power ? remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect the battery and AC adapter to turn ON the computer.
Get into BIOS and load defaults, save and exit.

Open Device Manager and under Battery Look for Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control method Battery, right Click on it and uninstall it, Restart after uninstallation.

Please let me know the happenings!

Best regards,
Mithun.

I recently purchased an x230 and everything is perfect but the battery fit.  It moves up and down slightly.  I know there are many posts in the lenovo forums for all different models that the battery fits lose in "x" model and solutions of putting paper / foam / tape to make the battery fit tighter.   What I'm wondering is if anyone has actually had the problem fixed by lenovo.  I've read a few posts where a user has had the base piece of the case replaced (where the battery fit's into) and that has solved the problem.  I'm still within my return period on my x230 and am awaiting a call back from tech support to see if there is anything they will do but I don't think I will keep it if they can't fix it.   I'm just curious has anyone actually had luck by replacing the base piece.  From what i've read a replacement battery hasn't worked for anyone.  Also, I know everyone says its by design for thermal purposes but I haven't actually seen any official confirmation of this from lenovo.   Thanks.

A:Battery Loose / Battery wiggle in x230 and LENOVO ...

As a follow up, I'm just curious if this is a widespread issue?  Anyone have loose battery in their x230 / x220?  I'm not talking about it falling out...but just a few millimeters of wiggle room.  Basically when i pick mine up or place it down, I can feel / hear the battery move.  I'm just trying to get an idea if this is a real problem or thats just how every thinkpad is.  I called support and they are sending someone to replace the base panel and we'll see if that fixes it.  I'll update this post when it get's replaced.   Edit* I also asked the lenovo support rep if they had heard of this issue and they said no, never.  I don't see how this is possible as if you do a google search for thinkpad loose battery there are many results.

Hopefully I get a solution to this question but my Lenovo Y50 has not been charging even after I thought it was my laptop charger was broken I bought a new one of the same exact type and It still didn't work and did the exact same thing as it did with my old charger. (i had this laptop for a year) What did the laptop exactly do? Well my laptop when I plugged it in it didn't work unless I set it up in a certain way to where I wiggled the charger tip around untill it finally said It was charging and I had to hold it into that position like a statue or else it would unplug if it moved an inch. That's not even the worst part! My chargers also heat at the tip. By heat I mean it literally gets so hot I burn myself on touching the plastic part and the metal part was very hot, when this happened on my new charger I made sure to unplug it right away to avoid doing any damage to it. Solutions I have already tried:Went into my control panel -> device manager -> Uninstalled both of the battery things like the ac adapter and the other thing I don't remember what it was called -> reinstalled -> Worked for a bit but not 100% gauranteed and after a while it didn't work Can't do a battery gauge reset because charger always unplugs Already tried BIOS does nothing. Don't even tell me to restart my laptop lol. Summary:Y50 won't charge, Have to have charger at certain angle to chargeTip over heatsdid everything in device manager to fix itno driver up... Hello, In august I bought new Lenovo B50-80 notebook. One month ago, I was checking HWmonitor and I saw that the battery wear level is 11%. PowerShell battery test in Windows 10 says the same ? at one of a charge battery wear. Which I think 11% is to much. I use my notebook as a secondary PC. In two months of usage, I charged max 15 times (and before always depleted to 15%).I tried RMA the battery, but I did not have any success. They say that the battery is OK, if notebook does not automatically shut down.I would like to know if this is normal wear for battery and the answer from RMA guys.If it is not, how can I contact directly Lenovo? Please advise.Best regards.B.

I'm just wondering if anyone would know the name of that piece and maybe where I could buy a replacement??? It looks like its just a simple screw to replace it so shouldn't be too hard. Thanks in advance.

I broke the screen on my Y50 Touch and the display is mostly white and has a large crack, the only thing showing up is the bottom bar. When I hook up an external monitor I can still use the touch functionality so I think the touch Digitizer is still working. Can I just replace the screen underneath and it should be fine?

Hello. My girlfriend has a Lenovo y50 Touch with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860m GPU. It has perfomed well, however when I recently installed AutoCAD 2015 on it, I found out that it is actually using the Intel Integrated graphics card instead.

Rant:This is very disappointing because I advised her to purchase this one because of the dedicated graphics, and if it is not even going to use it then she could have saved a lot of money buying one without it.

Anyways, I have tried a few things to fix it, namely going to the Nvidia Control Panel and chaning the prefered graphics card to to the Nvidia. But I right-click on autocad and go to "Run with Graphics Processor >" it still shows the intel as the default, and even when I chose nvidia, the intel is still shown as the graphics processor from the autocad setting.

In short, I need help enabling the dedicated nvidia graphics card and using that insetad of the intel integrated. Any help is much appreciated! Please let me know what additional information would be needed.

A:Lenovo y50 Touch not using Dedicated Graphics. HELP!

Good day One of my clients came to me with a laptop issue She hasa Lenovo G500S Touch laptop. It sometimes freezes at the Lenovo Bios Screen. She is running Windows 7 on it as she does not like Windows 8  Now it does not happen all the time but its frustrating to her as she is not tech minded and she just wants the thing to work.  Sometimes it starts up normally and sometimes it just hangs at the Lenovo screen. I have tried removing the battery (sometimes it works) , tried resesting the bios and disabling USB boot. I have also tried to remove the hard drive and check it in another PC and its fine. When it does start then its fine. it mostly happends when she moves the laptop around or puts it in a bag and takes it out again. There are no bios updates for the Lenovo G500S touch but only for the Lenovo G500S which does not work on the Laptop. Is there anything else we can try as she has spent so much money on this laptop trying to get it repaired as she does photo editing on it and I know the warranty has expired on the laptop and at that stage she did not take out extended warranty. Is the motherboard now defective ? Please advise as I have never seen this in my IT career and now I don't think I must recommend Lenovo PCs to my clients if they are going to give these issues. I have even cleaned the RAM Slots too Looking forward to help here. Regards Roger StaceRSCOMPUTER SERVICE AND RETAIL SOUTH AFRICA.

Without seeing the notebook myself I could only state that it sounds like a connection between main board and attached daughter boards in the case. Ribbon cable, connectors and such do come loose over time. The other things that could cause this would be damages from a drop or liquid spill... But without looking at it for such I could not be certain. CB

Are you aware that doing a factory reset/factory restore will wipe all your personal files in the process? Is there anything you'd like to preserve(if it's not too late)?Meanwhile, try this olde routine from Derek, amongst others.Remove the battery, and also of course the power adapter/charger. Press and hold the on/off button for about 30secnds. Then release it an re-install the battery etc. and see if it will start (boot up) correctly.message edited by trvlr

I have a Y-50 Touch screen laptop and the touch screen has been acting up for the past week. There are times when the touch screen works properly and there are times when the screen is not functioning properly, but for like about 3 minutes. When it does not function properly, then the touch screen either does not fully work or the screen it self starts playing around with nothing touching either the trackpad or the touchscreen. When this happens, the sensors on the screen seem to be triggered in the middle of the screen as it thinks that I touched the screen but I really haven't. I have already tried out the steps to resolve the problem but nothing seems to work. What could possibly be the problem? Thanks in advance

A:Lenovo y50 not recognizing touch screen

hi camb4m,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

If the machine is showing No Pen and Touch Input under system properties then it's not identifying the screen as Touch capable.

 - Link to picture

Things that you can try:
1. Perform a System Recovery via the OneKey Recovery button to check if the issue is on the OS level (ensure you backup important files first as this procedure will wipe all data on the OS partition).

2. Use HWINFO or similar utility to identify the monitor used on the system and compare it to the Touchscreen panels used on the Y50-70 Touch.

- Link to picture

Alternatively, you can post the machine type model (eg. 59-123456) of the Y50 for me to check if it has touchscreen capability or not.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi all, For some reason my P400 Touch no longer holds much of a charge.  For instance, after about an hour it's down to about 10% battery life from 100%.  I've tried a few "quick fix" ideas that didn't help with the issue, so it would seem the only solution is to replace the battery. Is it possible to find batteries for the P400 Touch still, and if so, where is the best place to purchase one?  I'm a little unfamiliar with the insides of this particular laptop, as I've yet to actually crack it open at any point, is there a guide on the best way to gain access to the battery in order to replace it?  Several questions at once, I'm afraid. Thanks for your time!

I have a strange issue. I have a Lenovo T60 laptop and I am experiencing problems with the power management/power guage.

It will often show the battery not installed (power gauge is a greyish-white color with dashed lines) or it shows a red X. It does not matter if I am on AC power or on Battery power, it will show the full range of power, battery level, not installed, or an error.

I have searched Lenovo's site and I seem to remember seeing an FAQ about this, but now that I need it, I cannot find it.

What can I check or do to stop this? While it is annoying, I am not sure if I am having a battery problem or not. I did check my battery on Lenovo's site to see if it was recalled and it is not.

I do appreciate any help that any one can give me.

Thanks!

Purchased my Lenovo Y50 in January of 2015. The plastic at the bottom of the screen and around the monitor hinge keeps coming unsnapped making it difficult to open and close the screen. When you do open or close the screen it sounds like the screen is shattering. Luckily it's just the plastic and not the screen.  Has anyone experienced this? Is there a permanent fix? The laptop isn't used heavily and I rarely take it out of the house so for now I just leave it opened but I would like a permanent fix.

Hi, If it's not one thing, it's another! I feel like my laptop bought in 2013 is falling apart on me now all of a sudden! When it pours, it rains, basically. Not happy. 1) the cover cracked at the hinges a few months after I got the laptop. Didn't think it was an issue. Wasn't an issue until number 2 happened. I then put black electric tape across the cracks on the cover.2) the display is separated from the cover. I put black electric tape all over it.3) the right hinge is popping in and out. I keep popping it in and out. Can't really open or close it without the hinge acting up, so can't use it as a laptop, only as a desktop. That is really annoying, if you ask me. and now, for the piece de resistance: 4) the AC converter is no longer working. Where do I find an AC converter for Lenovo Ideapad S510p Touch model # WB12764324? In the meantime, I'm borrowing a Lenovo Thinkpad AC converter. I need to return it soon, so I need a new AC converter for my Ideapad SOON. Thanks, much.

This is my third time making this thread with no working solution being posted.I purchased a Lenovo Y70 Touch Laptop several months ago. Since a few weeks after its initial use, it has had constant horizontal white lines flickering across the screen at random intervals. I updated the BIOS and it fixed it temporarily. The issue came back once more.I am running Windows 10. I have updated my NVidia and Intel drivers. The BIOS is up to date. I have tried to change the power settings with no luck (the recommended options are not present). Many others seem to have this issue and also have not been helped. I really don't like causing a fuss, but these computers aren't cheap and the lack of help has been very alarming.

For your infomation:  7 April 2016   Amazon price $1,194.99      Lenovo website does not specify what type of hard drive it comes with weither it is 2.5 ssd or M.2 ssd.  I did call Lenovo prior to purchasing my computer to ask what type of drive it came with the sales staff told me it was a 2.5 inch ssd which turns out to be wrong.   This laptop comes with a 500 GB M.2 ssd.  It does not include the cable for the second hard drive,    Your choice of 2.5 hd or 2.5 ssd.        As of yet you cannot purchase the cable thru Lenovo parts department.    The cable can be gotten thru AliExpress for around $49.00 (which does not include the hard drive caddy).  Encompass also sales the cable but as of this time is back ordered to July 2016  at a price of $10 plus shipping.  aslo does not come with the hard drive caddy.      My computer had a bug when using it,  windows exprorer service stopped working and I had to go to the task manager to restart the service.  But after I went to windows update and downloaded the lastest updates this bug did not show up again.  The best i can guess is not the fault of Lenovo.          The hard drive is partitioned into 5 drives which include boot, driver back-up, one button recovery and two additional Lenovo reserved ... I have a problem with this port other than it being very frustrating. I just bought the Hyper X Revolver headset, and since it is a combo jack I bought a splitter with the plugs for headphone/mic and the one end to plug into the computer. When I plug it in, the computer shows that I have plugged something into the jack. The sound is working just fine, but the microphone WILL NOT WORK. I have tried everything. Anyone else had the same problem with this piece of junk port? If so, how can I fix this? Thanks!

I have a Yoga 11s Laptop (ideapad) with windows 8.1, bought it 3 years ago, and the touch screen hasn't workedfor about two week. I've installed touchpad drivers, and refreshed the computer. Installing the drivers did nothing, and the touch screen worked after the refresh until I flipped the screen to use it in stand mode.  Thoughts? Will a factory reset make a difference?  I really need the touch screen for the work I do, and I can't send it out for repairs.

My g510s screen keeps blinking on and off really fast. I don't know what the problem is. I've looked up other threads about laptop screen flickering but it seems that their laptops don't completely blink off. I might be wrong. I tried resetting my laptop already so i think it's probably a problem internally. Is there any advice you guys can offer me about the problem i'm having.

Hi,So, this just started happening on my 3 month old YOGA 500 - The touch screen stops working every couple of hours. Each time it stops i go to the Device Manager, and under Human Interface Devices i can't find either HID-compliant touch screen or USB input device. The problem resolves each time after a hard reset (and the devices appear in the device manager), then reappears after 2-3 hours. The system is: Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK, Windows 10 1511 build 10586.164Any idea what's going on?Thanks,Vlad.

A:Lenovo yoga 500 - touch screen keeps disappearing ...

Hey there, I have a 2 month old Yoga 500-14ISK and I had the same issue. The temporary wokaround for me was to search in device manager under "USB controllers" and when the touchscreen died there would be a USB device with "Device Descriptor Failed" next to it in the USB section. Disabling that device and then re-enabling it would make the touchscreen work again. To completely fix the issue, I had to use a factory reset with the Novo button (pinhole next to the power button) and since then despite wiping the OS of my settings and apps, now I've updated all drivers and such again and I've had no further problems with the touchscreen.

Please Help!  My Lenovo Ideapad s210 Touch Came with Windows 8.  Whenever it went to sleep I had to logn with a password and at some point I was asked to make a Windows online account with a more complicated password & that became the password I had to use to Login to my computer a lot!.  I found out I could select Bypass the Login Screen & that worked great.  Soon the computer started bugging me about upgrading to Windows 8.1 & I thought it might be less buggy & faster so I upgraded to Windows 8.1.  Once installed it seemed to work ok then at some point it installed a lot of updates & needed to restart the computer in 16 minutes so I restarted it.  It came back on at the login screen.  I put in my password & it said it was incorrect.  I tried a few more times, even the old password, nogo.  I went online on my tablet & found others have had that problem with Windows 8.1 & 8.  I tried changing my Microsoft password & it didn't work.  I turned it off for a few days &  tried it and when I press power the button lights up but the screen stays dark. happened when I pressed power except the button lights up.  What can I do?  Is there an external reset?  I am in desperate need of help asap.  I am job hunting without a computer.   Thank you, Julie D.

Hi from germany, i have exacly the same problem here. I bought the identical helix system with i7 and 8gb. Sadly i have the same issues. The touchscreen started to be unresponsive and/or laggy, all over the screen. Then somehow it started to make phantomtouches on one point again and again. This phantomtouches are fighting with the stylus, trackpad and sometimes touches of my hand. Needless to say that the rate of phantomtouches is that high that you can't win the fight. I tried recalibration, driver updates, windowsupdates, did a rollback (2x) and reseted the whole Helix Thinkpad to the original delivery status. After doing the reset via windows the notebook rebooted and .... the phantomtouch was right on the exact same point as before. Even before i could register my pcname and so on. Not to mention that this error accured in tablet and notebookmode. Sometimes the phantomtouches stopped, but they just returned 5minutes later. Would love to see a solution there.

A:Re: Lenovo Helix Touch Screen Malfunctioning

I received my Helix (36984SU, i7, 8gb RAM, 256 gb HD) approximately 10 days ago.  Over the weekend I began to experience malfunctioning of the touch screen when using in tablet mode.  At first there was a single vertical section of the touch screen that was unresponsive.  Now, the problem has spread to the entire touch screen although the bottom half (when held in landscape) is basically inoperable - the screen detects "phantom" touches and very inaccurate real touches (as shown below).  Squeezing the bezel around the screen seems to cause more phantom touches to be detected.

The stylus works fine although it tends to battle with the touch screen because the touch screen is constantly detecting "phantom" touches.

Also, I just re-docked the tablet last night and found that the touch-pad mouse also gets stuck in the bottom left of the screen but is released after about 10 seconds of being docked.  This may be due to fighting with the touch screen as well.

I tried re-calibrating but I can't even hit the targets given in the re-calibration tool due to the inaccuracy.

As you can see in the image below, I drew the red arrows with the stylus and then I went back and traced the red arrows with my finger thus producing the green lines with the touch screen.

I also created a couple videos of the malfunction in action:

So we have a Lenovo S514 Touch laptop that is just a few months old. We can't seem to get it to hook up to our wireless internet. It connects to other wi-fi internet just fine on our cell phone, mobile hotspot, and other wi-fi networks, just not at home.

I've read MANY different suggestions and tried them all to no avail. We did download the 8.1 update so I did a restore to 8, still not fixing the issue. Have turned off the battery and wi-fi battery saving options, deleted the A/V, and non-essential Lenovo apps.

What do I try next?!

A:Wi-Fi WILL NOT work on Lenovo S514 Touch Laptop...

Try changing to name on your wireless router..
There is a way to tell windows to ignore a network and forget a network.. maybe this is what happened,
but I would also figure a Reset or Refresh (not restore) of windows would correct the issue
