Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me out.I've installed Windows 10 (Not an upgrade) on my HP Mini, I've a couple of issues with drivers but the first one I want to tackle is my bluetooth. In windows 7 it is listed in device manager as:  worked.Atheros 3011 Bluetooth 3.0 + HS Adapter However there doesn't seem to be any bluetooth device in my device manager in Windows 10.  I tried installing the Windows 7 drivers as it's worked on other laptops with friends and family but no such luck in my case. ---------- I have noticed though that my Wifi card is also detected as a different Atheros model than it was previously in Windows 7 too.Windows 7 Device Manager:Atheros AR9285 802.11 b/g/n Wifi AdapterWindows 10 Device Manager:Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11 b|g|n Wifi Adapter Wifi works just fine as it is, but I know some wifi cards will have bluetooth combined and so I've tried install the Windows 7 drivers also for my particular card from HP Support but hasn't made a difference.I've also been looking around the internet for drivers and can't seem to find any official support or downloads for these devices.  Has anyone else had this issue and could share with me how to restore functionality to my bluetooth adapter? Many thanks in advance folks and for reading my post.Keith

Will some of the drivers work with Windows 8? Card type is an Intel Atom, processor 1.6 ghz, 60 gb hdd, memory 1 gb (would like to upgrade to a 2 gb if there is a card that is compatible with this model HP Mini Netbook 1000). Currently has XP Home 32 bit and I can't get product key installed because characters rubbed off of Microsoft sticker. I know it's old but netbook can be used for pc computer games.

Hello computer comrades!

Once again I have ran into a problem that makes me want to bang my head against the wall over and over. My friend just bought an HP Mini off of someone he knew, and all of the network drivers are missing. My initial solution was to go to www.hp.com, input the model # and/or serial # and download the drivers straight from there. No problem right? Well, I cannot find the model # or serial # of this tiny notebook anywhere! I called HP and they told me that there should be a sticker on the back with both listed there, however, they are not.

I went to www.hp.com to just see if I can guess which model this is, but there are hundreds!

Is there any way I can find out the model # of this HP Mini without this sticker that should be on the bottom?

Thanks,

Charlie

I upgraded this little netbook to WIN 10 and it ran really poorly.  Finally gave up and went back to WIN 7. Apparently I need to update the drivers to get my wireless connection to be seen.  HP site only said No drivers available for this PC. HELP!! I don't know what to do or how to get my machine to work the way it used to!

Hi: I think you should be able to use the W7 drivers and software from the 311-1100 series notebooks on yours. Looks like the 1100's have the same hardware as the 1000's. Do not use any of the BIOS or firmware files though. http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Mini-311-1100-PC-series/4074229

I have a HP Mini 1101 netbook which originally came with Windows XP Home. That OS suffered some hal.dll error, so I took the opportunity to upgrade it to Windows 7 Ultimate. I want(ed) to update the drivers but according to HP's support site for this netbook it only covers XP Home & Professional & Vista Business & Ultimate.
I was wondering if would be advisable (I personally don't think it is) to update using the Vista Ultimate drivers?

Thanks.

I bought an HP Mini 110-3015dx with Windows 7 starter pre-installed.  I have since swapped out the HD and loaded XP Pro onto the mini (by slipstreaming the SATA drivers -- what a pain).  Anyway -- I started looking for the drivers for the hardware, and the driver .exe that HP lists for the machine for the WLAN won't work.  I run the executable, restart, and nothing -- no new network adapter shows up.  I've tried mapping the driver directly to the extracted folder that's created in c:\SWSETUP, but there are no configuration files (only cabs and executables), so I cannot manually add the driver. Does anyone know the chipset and have a link to the drivers so I can manually map them to the unrecognized devices?  Or is there some other fix?  As much as I like Windows 7, I need XP on this machine. thanks,WLH

A:Mini 110-3015dx Wireless drivers for XP Pro not working

it does this same thing when you upgard to the full windows 7 - even though that is what HP recommends you do. Then HP will tell you to spend $60 for them to fix the problem - becasue this computer is not compatable with anything other than the windows 7 starter - its just a way for HP to make more money once you buy the product.

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to get this device to work for hours, and no matter what I do, I keep getting a messege saying the device driver software was not succesfully installed.

Under Bluetooh Peripheral Device, it says no drivers found.

Has anyone successfully installed the Belkin's Mini-BT dongle, and if so, can someone give me a step by step, how-to on how to do so?

On my iPhone, under Bluetooth, it says that I'm connected to the PC, but on the PC, it says that the BT device needs trouble shooting, and it won't allow me to transfer any files to the iPhone.

Really, the primary reason I got the BT dongle was so that I could use the iPhone's 3G service as an internet connection when I'm away from home.

I'd appreciate any help.

Have you been using the system-included drivers, or drivers from an installation disc/download? I'm thinking they're not compatible. Are you on 7 64-bit or 32-bit?

EDIT: I see they work on Vista 32-bit and 64-bit, which means they'll work with both versions of 7. Vista drivers should work with 7.

Hello, I have a problem with an HP Mini 110 wich i have just reformarted with windows 7, the problems with the drivers where actually manifestating before, I thought that with the formating and the windows 7 instalation would be solved. In the hardware devices list i can see that the network controller, the video controller and the ethernet controller are missing, i tried to install the drivers given at the official website but none of them worked. Please help, i can't connect the computer to the internet! I think that wifi card or internet card, whatever name has, has no drivers installed or they just "dissapeared".

Due to hideous misfortune I had to do a clean install of my personal copy of Windows Vista and remove the stock Windows XP from my netbook.

Many drivers were added my Microsoft during Vista installation but I have no adapter drivers for either wireless or ethernet controllers. Under device manager I have no category for Network Adapters but instead those two controllers are listed under "Other Devices".

Under HP downloads I found the driver for Qualcomm Mobile Broadband Drivers - Gobi1000 when I went through the process of stating my product ID and OS (Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit). I downloaded it onto my pc, saved it to the flash drive I had to use earlier as a bootable drive to install Vista (knew the lack of native cd/dvd drive would eventually haunt me) and then moved the flash drive to the netbook to run install.

After running the setup a blank 'ms-dos' window popped up, stayed blank and then disappeared. There was no confirmation of success of failure in regards to installation of the driver. But under Device Manager they are still listed under other devices and I am unable to do anything with them.

I downloaded, transported and ran the setups for HP help and support as well as the Wireless Assistant. Both run fine on the Mini. The wireless assistant simply states that Windows has no controllers assigned to find connections to maintain.

I was curious as to whether or not there was something I was missing, the driver was the inco... Read more

I did a windows 7 clean install on my HP Mini 210 4051 nr as part of creating a dual boot with Ubuntu. In Linux the internet works fine, but in Windows 7 it does not. In the device manager I see yellow flags over the ethernet and network controllers. Code 28 (My model does have an ethernet port).

Because the machine cannot connect, I downloaded all the related drivers (everything from the network tab) from the HP website for my model with another computer and then put them all in a folder on the Mini's desktop via USB. When I try to install the drivers through the device manager, and direct it to that folder, it says it finds nothing usable.

Here are the IDs

Ethernet Controller
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_338D103C&REV_05

Network Controller
PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_5390&SUBSYS_163610C&REV_00

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Since I don't like it that much, I plan to format the hard drive (by going into computer-> Right click on C: -> Format) and then to do a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium on it.After the clean installation procedure, I was wondering if I could simply insert the Dell Drivers and Utilities disc into the optical drive and intall the drivers like I would normally do.Therefore, the real question would be: Will the Windows 8 drivers provided by Dell be compatible with Windows 7?Thank you very much everyone.FatLord

I did find this one "Inspiron 15R SE 7520" If that is your model then the Dell website has Windows 7 64bit drivers and Windows 8 64 bit drivers available for download.

I would use the Windows 7 Drivers for windows 7, Just download them ahead of time and burn them to a CD or store on a flash drive so you will have them handy to use.

I would also have my Antivirus ready to install before I went on the Internet.

3rd point. Windows will prevent you from formatting the drive it is installed on. So you have to do it during the install process.

Hey guys. I've bought a Mac Mini computer last week so it is the newest model with 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD Dual Core i5 etc. I'm looking to install Windows 7 at the same time as having OS X Mountain Lion on here. The only reason i want Windows 7 is so i can play certain games that Mac does not let me do.

Would any of you be able to help me with this? I've looked online already and i've been a few instructions but i haven't seen any that work. I've downloaded a torrent Windows 7 just because I can't afford the Official right now and i want to check if this works first. So i'm not sure what to do with this ISO? I've been told i need to burn it to disk but Mac Mini's do not have a Disk drive so i'm not sure what else to do. I've also ready that I can boot it using a 4GB USB Drive but i don't have one of them either so would a 500GB USB External HDD work instead? If so would you maybe be able to give me some instructions on how to get this Windows 7 on my new 2013 Mac Mini?

Thanks everyone, btw this is my first post on these forums so hi :P

anyone know anything about windows xp mini thanks for the help

A:windows xp mini

Windows XP mini is a nLite edited version of Windows XP in which many parts of XP have been removed to make it small size. It is one of the many nLite edited, stripped down versions of Windows XP/Vista available on illegal warez web sites. These editions usually are patched heavily to bypass Windows Activation etc.

Besides being illegal, they may contain trojans or malwares and should not be used at any cost.

And can this action be undone and where/how? (I searched my machine but didn't find where this option is)

You must press F11 as soon as you switch on the computer - if you miss the right moment it won't do anything.

If that doesn't work, switch off, switch on again and try F10 instead.

So I got my Rikomagic MK36 to connect up the the tv for the Mrs to use. Awesome little thing for the 5 minutes I had it working! It dual boots windows 8 and Android.

It was running WIndows 8 perfectly. So I had to go and install Windows 10 which doesn't run so well on it.
So using the recovery USB I made while doing the Windows 10 upgrade I tried to rollback to Win 8. After a couple of restarts I got to a screen saying:

Your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. process1_initialization_failed.

It then restarts and goes to:

I must have seen those blue screens about 1000 times in the last couple of days. I could still see it when I went to bed!
So I am stuck in a loop and can't even load Android on it.

I removed Malware on Windows 8 and now it is saying that I have no network connection!  Do you have a download for mini toolbox for windows 8

A:Mini Toolbox for Windows 8

Hi to BC,

Actually Farbar MiniToolbox will work on Windows 8.x just fine.

You probably want to run this also...

Download Farbar Service Scanner
Run FSS
Check all the options
click Scan
Post the generated log in your reply.

And are you sure the malware is gone?

Your Pc couldn't start properly.
A requried device isn't connected or couldn't be found
Error code 0xc0000225
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media.

I must have seen those blue screens about 1000 times in the last couple of days. I could still see it when I went to bed!

So I am stuck in a loop and can't even load Android on it.

So I've tried booting from a USB drive by changing the boot order. The USB drive show up in BIOS boot it will not boot from it at all. It just goes back to the blue screen loop.

Photos of the blue screens and BIOS settings.

A:Messed up Windows 8 on my mini pc. Help!!!

The issue was caused by rolling back from an image on a USB, NOT the built in revert feature that allows you to go back to the previous O.S. within 30 days.
I know that doesn't help your situation, but it may prevent others making the same mistake.
Having a backup is a great idea, if the original O.S. doesn't function as it should, once it is reverted back.

Hi, I was wandering if it is a good idea to install Windows 7 (86-bit) on a:

HP-2133 Mini-Note PC
2.0GB RAM

It came with Windows Vista SP1, but I installed Windows XP SP3 because Vista made the laptop almost burst in to flames.

But after a while I noticed that XP kinda fries the laptop as-well ( not that much though )

NOTE to people with less than 0 understanding of computer:
When the computer gets over cooked it works slower ( but in my case: slower than a snail )

Anyway: I've heard that Windows 7 needs less memory than Windows XP, so that is why I wanted to install it on to the laptop.... and if that doesn't work, my only option with this laptop is to install Linux -> Ubuntu.

btw: The laptop does not belong to me, so don't feel bad for me

oh, and one last question: is it a good idea to install Windows 7 Ultimate....?
if not: which version should I install? Don't worry I have them all in 64 and 86 bit.

A:Windows 7 (86-bit) on HP-mini Note

You mean x86, which is 32-bit. If it came with Vista, it should be able to run 7, which requires less than Vista. It definitely does not require less than XP, which required 128MB at the bar minimum, but like I said it should run fine regardless.

I've got a netbook here. By default, it boots into something called HP QuickWeb. It looks like just a small OS designed to get you online quick. The wireless within that OS will not connect unless you restore the laptop to factory defaults. Even then, if the laptop's battery drains all the way, or is taken out, the next time you log in, you will be unable to connect once again until another restore. From QuickWeb, you can choose to boot into Windows 7. I figure that's the best way to take care of the wireless problem since there are very little configuration options from within the QuickWeb OS.
Anyway, when I try to boot into Windows 7, I get a loading bar, then the screen goes black with a cursor visible. I can move the cursor, but the screen remains black no matter what. I tried some different button combinations (ctrl+alt+del, Windows+D) to no avail. I get the same thing when trying to boot into safe mode. It goes through the list of sys files it's loading, then goes to the black screen. I'm not sure how to get into the BIOS. It loads into the QuickWeb pretty quickly. I tried the usual (del, f2, f1) and those didn't work. Not sure the BIOS would help me anyway. There is no cd drive on this netbook. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I've been trying to install Windows 7 on my HP Mini 1101 netbook, but after trying several methods described via various sites it always ends up the same way in that the installer starts up ok but when it starts to Expand the Windows files it fails & says "setup.exe" is corrupt.
I'm pretty sure that nothing is wrong with the discs since both I've used at given points in time in the past to install Windows 7 on this laptop I'm using now. The flash drive I'm using is brand new (only opened this morning).
Anyone got any ideas to help me pull this off? Thanks.

A:Windows 7 on HP Mini 1101 via USB

Couple of Questions for you.
How did you get your install files onto your USB drive?
Is the DVD in good condition? (i.e. no scratches)
Is the DVD an actual Win7 Install Disc or a burned Copy?
You could try using IMGBurn to create an ISO of your Disc and than use the Windows7 USB/DVD Download Tool to transfer that image to either a Blank DVD or a USB Flash Drive. I would recommend the latter as it installs a lot faster. If this is something you've already done than let me know and we'll try something else.

Yesterday I had the Windows defender virus on my Desktop computer. I read things online and most places were saying to use rKill, ComboFix, and Malwarebytes. So I followed everything and then the virus was removed (I believe). Less than an hour later a friend of mine went to a website (which I believe got me a virus).

Ever since then when my computer boots up the task bar at the bottom of the screen is grey and plain (looks like a task bar from Windows XP maybe), it says that my "Audio service is not running", and I do not even have the bars that show my Wifi signal (I'm assuming that I am missing the driver now?).

I do not know if ComboFix is what did this or if I have another virus but I have become so frustrated with this that I figured I would ask for help.

I'm running a Gateway DX4860, Windows 7, and a wireless internet card.
If ANY other information is needed then I will be more than happy to give it.

To my knowledge, when an OS such as Windows 8.1 is booted, all firmware/bios drivers are replaced by more appropriate OS drivers in the boot drive during start up. I learnt this happens for the latest versions of Windows. Am I right? Do all bios drivers get replaced? Does this happen with the latest versions of OS X as well?

If this is so, then you can discard firmware as suspected of causing problems on a computer that's already booted up. Unless there's a problem that's causing a driver to remain in RAM after boot.

A:Does firmware drivers get completely replaced by OS drivers after boot in OS X and Windows?

No...

Greetings,

This is a general question for a fresh install of Windows on a computer. Let's say we just completed the installation and we open up Device Manager (we haven't used Windows Update yet). Device Manager shows us that there are - let's say "3" - devices that do not have drivers installed for them. If we visit the computer manufacturers website though, they'll have - let's say "8" - different drivers to download.

If we only install the "3" drivers for the devices that Windows couldn't find drivers for, are we hurting our computing performance by not installing the other "5" drivers that were available on the manufacturers website?

This is just good to know in general, because I've faced this situation with every install of Windows since I began computing with Windows 98. But the reason I'm asking now is because the nincompoops at Acer - despite me entering my serial number - still offer me every possible driver for my model, including drivers for hardware that's not in my computer! Windows - of course - can't identify the hardware, so I'm ready to rip out the last little bit of hair on my head.

Thanks!

A:General Question - Windows Installed Drivers Vs OEM Website Drivers

Some manufacturers offer an utility that helps you identify what stuff you have in the laptop, I think Acer did.
You can also try the hardware-detection program this forum has, this tutorial

Also check the driver version, as some manufacturer list multiple driver versions and you only need the latest (usually, otherwise take the last version that works).

Also, installers of these drivers usually look up the hardware IDs of the hardware and if they don't detect anything that could benefit from them will abort installation. Some instead install anyway and you will have some drivers you won't need, but won't cause any issue as again Win7 knows that they don't match any hardware ID, and will leave them alone.

So, you may have noticed that I am talking of Hardware IDs, that are basically each device's own "calling card" integrated in each device, you can identify the hardware by looking up its hardware ID and then searching it on Google to convert that code into a human-readable device model and brand.

Open device manager, right-click on an unknown device, click on "properties", then go in the "details" tab of its properties panel from Device Manager, click on the drop-down menu and select "Hardware IDs". right-click on the codes you get on the text panel below it and select copy, then search the code on Google to identify the device.

Hi,
I've poked around on the forums and I can't find an answer to this.
I turned my netbook off yesterday when I turned it on today it opened to the hp screen, then black with a cursor then just black screen. I pushed F8 and tried to open in safe mode and got this :

muli(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

multi(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\hal.dll

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\ystem32\KDcom.dll
I do not have an os disc or cd rom drive, and apparently just turning it off, saying a little prayer and restarting is not going to do it. If anyone can help or point me n the right direction, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

I've been trying to install windows XP. The setup starts in text mode, but when should show the "to setup windows xp now, press enter", before the EULA screen, it locks. More specifically in the black screen after loading files.
I don't know what to do because it only has 512mb of ram and an 8GB IDE SSD.
It seems to work properly, because i've tested the ram and ssd and are fine. Also, the computer boots from a Linux liveCD just fine.
What can I do?

Hi,

Just got a new Dell Mini 10V.. Win XP Home. Has SP3, and has IE6. I cannot get the Microsoft website to display/respond so I can update XP. I get the "cannot display this webpage" error. Thought it may be a problem with the MS site, so checked on another, updated machine... no problems.

Any ides on why a brand new machine would have a problem accessing the Update site? I can call Dell, but figured if i'm missing something, or there is a simple potential fix, this would be a LOT quicker than Dell Support.

I bought a Mini 10 Dell netbook during the summer. I was pretty excited to see how a netbook with comparable(sightly better) computing power to my 5 year old 700m. The size and the price were nice.

I decided to go with linux b/c I had some experience with it and was somewhat fond of linux. For freeware OS, the overall price was the same. I had a lot of issues with the touch pad and the mouse buttons. Overall performance seemed lower than it should have been. I tried different distributions, but the dell distribution was the best(mediocre). I had a lot of buyers remorse and was a little mad at Dell for selling a product that maybe wasn't ready.

I saw online that Microsoft had a student discount for Windows 7 Professional. So I got that and made the neccessary changes to upgrade.

So far, everything works great! The touch pad and buttons work perfect. It is now possible to click and drag stuff. Overall performance appears to be up as well. And it is, of course, visually pleasing. Flash video works a billion times better too.

I posted this for anyone that pondering trying Windows 7 on their mini 10, but might feel uneasy. It was definitely the best $29 I have ever spent. My machine is now everything I was expecting it to be before I bought it.

I'm not sure how MS would react. They might be happy to see 7 on Macs. It sounds like the Mac is configured in some way that 7 isn't designed for. In case its a problem with the installation, open command prombt and type in "sfc /scannow" without the quotation marks. If it finds irreparable errors you can do a repair install.

When the image is applied to the machine, the Windows XP Mini-Setup is loaded and it presents the user with the questions. It shouldn't present the users with the questions if the Sysprep.inf folder is in the correct folder, but it still does... Any idea anyone?

A:CANNOT automate Windows XP Mini-setup

Hi

I have not done many sysprep setups so I might be mistaken.
It seems you have a mixture of sysprep.inf and unattend.txt information and considering you are trying to use an image I imagine you are trying to use the sysprep.inf file.

Are you using the setupmgr to create the sysprep.inf file?
It is a gui sysprep.inf creation wizard that you will also find in the Support\Tools\Deploy.cab file on your Windows XP CD. You can copy it to your sysprep folder and run it - follow the instructions.

The other problem I have is the "/shutdown" sysprep option. I think you want "/forceshutdown"? So it will become:

Code:
sysprep /reseal /mini /quiet /forceshutdown
Hope this helps. For more info see:
How to use the Sysprep tool to automate successful deployment of Windows XP

A:Windows XP messed up my Ipod Mini please help

Um, yesh. Don't reformat MP3 players to use NTFS, FAT32, or any other file system that wasn't originaly on the drive. Use the file system that the device came formated for if you want to use it to play MP3s. Otherwise, you'll only be able to use it to carry around data files.
You'll have to ask Apple what the file system is supposed to be, and then re-format that I-Pod Drive to the file system Apple tells you to use.
As for how to do that, I don't know: I don't have an I-Pod. However, my best guess is that it needs to be formated to Fat16. Try reformateing the drive to Fat16 from Windows Explorer. if that doesn't work, you may need to get some special software from Apple. Good luck.

I've tried everything I can think of so I decided to come here. When you first turn on the eMachine it acts like it's going to boot up but then it goes to a page that displays the following message:

WINDOWS FAILED TO START. A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT BE THE CAUSE. TO FIX THE PROBLEM:
1. INSERT YOUR WINDOWS INSTALLATION DISC AND RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.
2. CHOOSE YOUR LANGUAGE SETTINGS, AND THEN CLICK NEW.
3. CLICK REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS DISC, CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR OR COMPUTER MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE.

STATUS: 0X000000F

INFO: THE BOOT SELECTION FAILED BECAUSE A REQUIRED DEVICE IS INACCESSIBLE.

The eMachine Mini does not have a disc because it does not have a disc drive. I can't get past this menu no matter what I do. I can restart and get into the boot menu by pushing F12, and I can access the F2 menu. But I can not access anything else. Does anyone have any helpful advice?

A:Emachines Mini and Windows 7 Starter

Reboot and tap the key given for BIOS setup to see if the HD is detected under Storage devices.

Then reboot and tap F8 key to see if you can access System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair or if that fails System Restore.

If not boot into the Win7 installer written to a flash stick from Step 5 in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start to run Startup Repair to see if it finds anything to repair. If not start at the top of the steps using the bootable flash stick alternatives for bootable AV scan, Partition Wizard and other disks needed.

I am trying to install some widcomm bluetooth drivers but everytime I plug in the usb adapter windows install it's own drivers. I tried manually updating the drivers from device manager but it doesn't allow it.
Is ther a way to stop windows from installing the drivers to begin with?

A:Trying to install widcomm drivers. Getting overrun by windows drivers

First. Do not connect the usb device.

Install the drivers for the device, and only connect the device when either prompted to do so, or after the installation is complete.

my windows recently malfunction ... couple of nights ago it fell .. and then my wd portable stopped working, keeps asking for password and also when enter password nothing happens, although i noticed something strange .... the portable hdd makes a clock like sound ... which is weird and most weird is my touch pad clicks not work all the time .. sometimes i have to press 4/5 times to make it work and also there is this issue with minimizing windows ... its shows up like this ...

I need advise as it how to fix the above issues, thanks for reading ..

A:Strange mini windows appear above the windows taskbar

Click on the expand window button at upper left of the little popup hidden behind your taskbar so we can see it. If that doesn't work try to drag it upward.

Move the data off your external to wipe it of all the crapware and its code using Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command, then repartition in Disk Mgmt as you please.

Hello!

When approx. can we expect the drivers for Windows 10 for the Satellite click mini? On the Toshiba-Web-page I can only download drivers for Windows 8.1. Therefore friends adviced me not to install Windows 10 yet. But how long do we have to wait for the Windows 10 drivers?

Thanks a lot!

A:Windows 10 driver for Satellite Click Mini L9W-B

Hi Pete,

Keep an eye on this space.

All drivers need to be created and thoroughly tested before Toshiba can make them public, this unfortunately is a long and vigorous system, usually after a new operating system is released most products are made compatible within a year.

Hope this helps,

Hi

A good friend of mine gave me an old netbook that he no longer wanted because he never used it. I created a new admin account under my name then deleted my friends old admin account while keeping the files. Ive read that you should always have two admin accounts so I did a system restore to bring back my friends old admin account. Should I delete his account then create two new admin accounts or recreate my admin account and keep my friends? Ive read that theres a hierarchy amongst admin accounts on Windows 7 so my concern would be that my account always has the main privileges. Grateful for any responses. Im reasonably tec savy but not overly so it would be most helpful if your answers are idiot proof (me beig the idiot!!)

My Stream Mini 200-010hk was running fine. Both hardware and software was perfect. I tried to reset the OS in order to pass the machine to a friend. I used "Reset this PC" and "Remove everything". The machine restarted and seemed to be copying files. But after counting percentages completion for a while, it stated "There was a problem resetting your PC". It just stopped there.  I tried to use Recovery Drive from created in another Win 10 machine. It failed to reset this PC.  Please help.

Hi,
I have an Acer 10.1 Aspire One notebook PC with Intel Atom Processor N270, 160GB Hard drive, Windows XP, 6 cell battery, 1GB Memory, Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950.
I have downloaded Windows Media Player but when i play video files on it i only get sound, no picture. These same files play sound and vision on my desktop installed WMP. What am i missing here??

I want to take my notebook with me on a trip to England soon and want to be able to take family video to show.

I also have Quick Time Player on the notebook for the files that require that player and that works fine, sound and vision.
Appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks

A:Windows Media Player on Mini Notebook

Your missing the codec needed to play the videos. The most common video codec missing from WMP are the mp4 and xvid (the free open source version of divx) codecs.

Do you know what codecs the videos use? If not there are a number of programs on the internet to tell you have codecs a video is using.

Let me begin by saying I am a novice computer user and I appreciate your patience while helping me through this problem.

My HP 110-3030NR Netbook is completely wiped clean at the moment. I have a bootable USB with a copy of Windows 7 Starter. I insert the USB, boot the netbook and go through the motions of selecting language and accepting terms and conditions. I get to the infamous "Where do you want to install Windows?" screen.

If I try to install on partition #2 it says...

If I try to install on partition #1 it says...

So... I gotta admit I sort of became a traitor and tried installing Linux 10 Mint because I had been told Linux will handle all partition problems itself. Well, that didn't work, it seems to be the same type of problem with a different error name, with Linux it said, "The ext4 file system creation in partition #1 of SCSI2 (0,0,0) (sdb) failed".

So I gave up on that and am now BACK to trying to install Windows 7 Starter. The only difference is that NOW when I get to "Where do you want to install Windows?" there aren't ANY partitions and at the bottom it says, "No drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation".

I have been to the HP website and cannot find any Mass Storage Drivers, all I found were upgrades and patches. I loaded a few promising ones on a USB and tried to load them but the computer wouldn't even recognize them.

I have read thread after... Read more

A:Need help installing Windows 7 Starter on an HP Mini - With Pictures!

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You will need to go into the BIOS and make sure that the first boot device is set to your USB drive.

I'm not absolutely certain for your computer, but if you hit the F10 key when you boot up it should open up the BIOS for you.

You may get help from the HP Netbook forums on your BIOS configuration.

A:just installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my HP mini 110

Hi there
shouldn't make too much battery difference -- what DOES use a lot of battery is full screen display such as EXCEL / Powerpoint, and lots of HDD accesses.

On a Netbook the CPU won't use a lot of power even when running at 100%.

Incidentally the BEST way of improving performance on a netbook is to up the RAM to 4GB (4GB single modules are cheaply available now -- DDR3 type is probably what is in your netbook) and to use an SSD.

Using an SSD instead of the internal HDD will make a dramatic improvement in performance on a netbook. SSD's are becoming actually affordable now --even for impecunious students !!.

Upping the RAM also has a beneficial side effect -- since more data can be stored in RAM you will have less DISK access -- hence less power drain. RAM itself isn't a huge consumer of battery power.

Switch also to Power saving mode in Windows in the Power plan options (Control Panel) -- chose the option "On Batteries".

I upgraded my Acer Aspire 1 to 4 GB RAM and swapped the HDD for an SSD -- performance is perfectly acceptable - especially for on the Road -. You can also connect it to an external monitor when you are near a power supply if you prefer working with larger screens - but since most of the younger generation are perfectly happy staring into tiny mobile phone screens all day long a netbook should be just fine.

Cheers

I downloaded windows 10 ages ago and my laptop is not working properly now.

There's a string of problems including:

I can't access my desktop and all my personal files that I usually have on display to access with ease
I can't add a photo to my account
I can't minimize browsers to have a few open small at the same time
I can't seem to sync with my main desktop pc properly
I can't use the start button, it just does nothing
The screen doesn't rotate when I turn my tablet around

I have restored my laptop completely and started it fresh this morning but still no luck. I have now had the joy of adding all my apps and security onto it again. 5 hours later I am still here trying to get it sorted.

I spoke to Windows earlier who say it isn't their problem and that it is a toshiba issue.

Can someone please help me out here as I am literally going crazy and am about to smash up my device!!!

Thanks
Jo-Anna

A:Windows 10 has messed up Satellite Click Mini L9W-B

Windows 10 works perfectly here.

Try reinstalling windows 10 as a fresh installation. you can download the ISO (32bit) from the msn site.

Don't worry about reactivation as once you had previously updated to windows 10, it will remember your machine.

(Don't forget to place the drivers on a memory stick etc) as I don't think all the drivers will be installed on initial boot (takes a couple of reboots to get most of the drivers working)

Hi! Hopefully someone is still monitoring this forum, because I need help. The sooner, the better please. :-) For the first time in my life, I've forgotten a password. In this case, I have an HP Mini 110 - 1116CA Notebook PC that hasn't been used in a while and now that I need to use it, I can't because I can't log in. To be clear, I can't remember the password to enter at the Windows logon prompt. I'm using Windows 7 (don't recall if it's 32 or 64 bit). My serial number is CNU9425WVP. Is there something you can do to reset the password to allow me to log on? Thanks in advance!!
