Dell Inspiron 7559 Sound Issue

Q: Dell Inspiron 7559 Sound Issue

I have brand new a Dell Inspiron 7559 (Core i5 model) which i received 2 days ago. The inbuilt speakers work fine. But when I plug in my earphones, the is sound only on the left side and a very faint sound on the right one. When I check the left and right sound in the sound properties, both the test sounds appear on the left side only. The earphones I am using are Klipsch R6. And here are no issues with the earphones since they work perfectly with my phone and other Dell Inspiron laptop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I opened my new Inspiron 7559 today, after updating all the drivers including the NVIDIA one, so I installed league of legends, upon playing the first game, I noticed my FPS was around 130 and would cap around there, I found this odd as the laptop I had returned before this was an older model by Dell and it ran the game completely fine at 215 FPS another thing I noticed is the game would freeze randomly, overall it feels like my laptop isn't keeping up even though it has really good specs, what is the possible issue?

Hello,
I got this laptop recently and ran into an issue when connecting to external displays, in all games I am unable to set my video settings to 60Hz when choosing to project my display to the external screen only. If I duplicate the screen then I have no issue, but I want to be able to close the laptop lid and have 60Hz as an option, otherwise everything shows up as 59Hz which causes stuttering and flickering. The weird thing is that in Windows my refresh rate shows up as 60Hz at 1920x1080 but when launching any game 59Hz is the highest I can go to when set to display as "second screen only" in Windows 10. Please let me know what I could to fix this, and if it is not clear let me know.

I bought the laptop mentioned in the title, the Inspiron 17 7559, a little under 3 months ago for school as well as some gaming.  A couple days before I spoke with tech support the cpu fan (fan on left side if you're looking at the top of the laptop and are in front of it) began making a horrible grinding/squealing noise.A little background: before going to school, I spent a decade as field technician on both military advanced electronic systems and production-class robotics systems.  So I opened the back panel just to glance at the fan, see if maybe there was a glaring physical abnormalities, as  the fan was clearly grinding on something and when it kicked into high would be scraping fast and hard enough to produce this noise.
I open the back cover, a screw falls out from its happy little home (which is, needless to say, both Not A Good Thing and Ominously Foreboding), followed by the shorn threading which had come from another screw.  Also, three or four  screws were VERY loose.  Which explained why the case had begun to separate near where the monitor pivots attach to the case.  Completely structural screws.  I tightened those up a bit, but didn't mess with any screws in the component housing area, as thos can have specific torque settings and such, and overtightening can do real damage.  As for the fan, its sitting a millimeter or so lower in its housing than the other, and even the slight spinning it did while I t... Hi, I can't seem to get anything higher than 1920x1080 in the list of available resolution options when I connect my Dell U2713HM monitor to my Dell Inspiron 15 laptop. I've run this monitor at 2560x1440 on another laptop over HDMI in the past but that was with Windows 8. The Intel HD Graphics 530 Control Panel doesn't offer any resolutions above 1920x1080 for the external monitor and adding custom resolutions results in the error "the custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity". I'm using the same high speed HDMI cable that worked at 2560x1440 with this monitor on my previous laptop. I'm fully up to date on all of the drivers for the laptop.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not sure what else to try. Could this be a Windows 10 issue? Should I try the standard Intel HD Graphics 530 drivers from the Intel website?

The hardware on the system supports the 2560x1440. It should be a software issue. I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the video card driver from Dell website as these drivers are tested on the Dell system. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the video card.

Press the Windows key and Start typing devmgmt.msc and then press enter.
Select the Display adapters listed and right click on it.
Now select properties.
In the properties window, under Driver tab, click on Uninstall button.
Check “Delete the driver software for this device.”
You want to delete the driver click OK.

After the uninstall finishes restart the system. Then reinstall the Intel video card driver for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the video card drivers from Video section onto the system and install it.

Hi All, I recently got a Dell Inspiron 7559. It came with a 8GB Skhynix "hmt41gs6bfr8a-pb no aa 1506" RAM stick. I'd like to upgrade it to 16GB. I thought I had bought the same 8GB RAM model from ebay, but I had received an 8 GB Skhynix "hmt41gs6bfr8a-pb na aa 1511". Are they two completely different models because of their different nomenclature? Can I still use it to upgrade my ram? Thank you

There's only one memory socket on this model, so an 8G isn't going to get you an upgrade.  You need a 16G module to upgrade.

Hi,I have bought dell Inspiron 7559 2 months back. Around last 3 weeks iam facing hanging issues which is increasing. both keyboard and mouse pad hangs for a 2 to 3  second and gets normal. now its hanging again and again. Just got my computer back from Dell tech support having sent it because of an issue with no audio output device installed and the red x on the toolbar. The computer is in the exact same state as before I sent it with nothing fixed. I've tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times, checked if audio services were running and all of that. Feels like a huge waste of money at this point and is especially disappointing because this computer was actually a gift for someone. Has anyone had this issue with this computer and have it resolved without resorting to an external usb sound driver?

You can diagnose this by performing a system recovery (reset the laptop back to the original factory configuration.) If there is still no audio immediately after recovery, before getting on the internet, then the audio hardware has failed and Dell will have to fix it under the terms of the warranty. In other words they could not say it is a software issue and therefore not covered.
If the recovery does fix it, but the problems recurs after getting on the internet, then probably some Windows Updates-related issue.

Hi, i have an Inspiron 15 7559. Last week my battery  was damaged and can't use it anymore, since then I have low fps while gaming (gta v, witcher 3, etc.), I've read there is a kind of throttling when there is no battery, maybe the turbo boost is not being enabled.
Is there a way I can make the laptop work again like before, I can't buy a new battery yet because I live in Peru and is hard to find this battery model.

I have a new Dell Inspiron 7559:
I use it for work, mainly translation tools, and also for some ocasional gaming (Witcher 3, Cities skylines, etc.).
So I was thinking on maybe upgrading it a bit, but as I´m on a budget I can only afford upgrading the ram up to 16GB or to buy an SSD of 250GB, what would you suggest to upgrade?, which of both would have more impact on the performance?.

Hi All,I have an Inspiron 15 7000 series (7559) to be exact.Core i7 processor,4 GB RAM,GTX 960M and 1 TB HDD.I have been trying to play GTA V,The Witcher 3 and a few other games but none of them work properly there is so much lag.I have reinstalled windows all NVIDIA drivers and everything is up to date.While playing the game GTA V in this case when it lags my DISK is at 100% in the task manager could that be the issue.I have been so disappointed with this laptop till now.Can anyone please help me with this issue.

I have just bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 and it just arrived this morning. However, when I try to play any sound the speaker starts to crackle heavily. The only solution that works is plugging in headphones and unplugging them which seems to work. But once you shut down the computer, and turn it back on, this problem still exists. I have already updated the realtek hd audio driver as well as the bios. I would hate to have to return the laptop as it works flawlessly otherwise.

I have bought this laptop about 2 months ago. Since i bought it, I have noticed that it's performance is not what i should expect.
I mean, i can be in Google Chrome viewing a page, and in the moment i scroll using my mouse, the laptop like freezes for a milisecond and then continues. Same happens when playing videogames, i can be playing at low/ultra details, 60+ frames per second, but every now and then i get a frame drop and then it goes back to where it was before, it's super annoying and shouldn't be happening.
I always thought it was something with the game, that it was not well optimised but it seems to be the computer.
Things i have done:
1. I reinstalled Windows 10 using the software provided by Microsoft.
2. All my drivers are up to date
What could it be? my laptop specs are:
6th Generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz)]NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR58GB Single Channel DDR3L 1600MHz (8GBx1)1TB (5400rpm) Hybrid HDD with 8GB Flash
All these things occur with the laptop plugged or not, it doesn't matter. Gaming, i have used Balanced and High Performance battery mode but i don't see any difference. This has happened to me for example in CS:GO, LoL, World of Warships, etc.

When you are saying that it is stuttering, does it do this all the time or is it something that will be working and then you get a quick stutter and then things return to normal?  If this is happening, it's most likely just a point in time where the files that the processor needs to access files haven't been loaded into RAM yet.  Your processor then has to wait for the HDD to load the file and continue on from there.  Does Google Chrome do this all the time?  Again, when it first boots or if there is something that computer has to load on the webpage such as Flash or anything like that, it can cause a temporary delay in the time that it is loading.  If it's doing it constantly then it might be something to look at, but once in awhile, it's not uncommon for this to happen during loading.  5400RPM is slowest speeds for HDD and it can cause your computer to have to wait for loading here and there.

Hey everyone,
I was using my Dell Inspiron 7559 this weekend and suddenly the audio from my headphones quit. I had no problems in the first month I had the laptop, and the audio from the speakers still works fine. When I plug in the headphones the dialog box also doesn't show asking me about the audio device connected to the port. I know the headphones work on my phone, and I've tried deinstalling the Realtek audio driver and using the native driver. Nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm grateful for any help!

Hello,Got the Dell Inspiron 15-7559Standard with 100 gb 2,5 inch HDD.Inserted a Kingston 2.5 inch HDD, works fine.Now days later I also inserted a M.2. Sata SSD. Both Disks work.But when selectign legacy boot and first selecting the second HDD it does not boot up the 2nd HDD. It gives an error message saying boot.msgr is missing.Tried :- Legacy mode, Secure mode on and off- Turning back to Uefi mode with secure mode on and off- Legacy mode and all kidns or boot orders.When I press F12 at startup and go to boot selection and select 2nd HDD, there is no problem, it boots up my 2.5 inch ssd no problem.Now I installed windows also on my M.2. Sata SSD and this one boots up fine in legacy mode. No issues at all. But also now when setting 2nd HDD first it still boots up the m.2. And once again manually selecting the 2nd HDD at startup works fine.I would like to use the 2.5inch ssd as boot device and the M.2. sata as storage.I have my reasons for this lol. :) Can anybody supply me with some advice/help?Thanks in advance!

Hello, I'm having a small problem with my new Dell laptop.
I can't find the option where I could set my keyboard backlight to stay on constantly. It keeps falling asleep (turning off) after a short period of time. It is really annoying late in the evening as I always have to wake it up. Is there any way I could turn off the automatic sleep mode or atleast prolong it?

so the next part is the Kicker Dell did a number on their Bios and rather than using standard logic as we have done so many years just setting the boot order to "Boot USB" first, you "Only" have the option to create a "Boot Program"!!! so you select your USB Drive then which ever file you want it to boot I'm Assuming? So I tried selecting Setup, bootmgr.efi, and autorun with no results!

I get the secured boot error crap, turn that off and I get Legacy BIOS (that defeats the entire point) What the hell happened to Win95 Boot Discs and FDISK?

I am so frustrated with this garbage, I found out the hard way with Windows 10 and trying to nuke the SSD and put a clean install of 8.1 on it.

Any directions especially concerning Dell's wonderful BIOS would be appreciated!

I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 7559 a month ago. The first week it was amazing with no problems at all. 
Then when I was working on it, left it plugged in and left is for a while, then came back to it after 1 hour or so, I noticed that the battery was discharging. 
Did not mind it until it went to "plugged in, charging" 0% and it shut off completely. 
I tried to turn it on several times and it did not turn on. 
Called Dell service center and advised to remove the battery. I cannot remove the battery completely because of the screw type but managed to remove the cables. 
I turn it back on and it worked again. But after a few days the probem kept recurring. 
Its going like "plugged in, charging" but it is not charging. Or "1 hour 05minutes to full charge" but after an hour it will be "1 hour 40minutes to full charge". I mean what gives. 
Have done all that was advised in the internet but not hing is working. 
I have done restart task manager, uninstall API, and all that, but the problem is recurring.
BIOS was updated recently also. So is it hardware of software. 
Please help for anymore ideas?
Its brand new, it rocks when it is working, but I dont have the patience to kept on checking for hte battery status. It is getting annoying also.

Are you using an original Dell OEM Adapter? When you plug in the adapter to the system, does the adapter stay firm or does it fall off easily? Is the adapter frayed? Is there any damage on the system? Could you test with another power adapter if possible? 
Restart the system and press f2 key to enter BIOS - check the adapter status in BIOS with and without the adapter plugged in. Also, wiggle the adapter cable at the end and see if the status changes in BIOS at any point. Check the battery health in BIOS (if applicable).
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional.

I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 laptop about a week or so ago and several days later realised some odd USB transfer behaviour. Tried all 3 different usb3.0 ports, same problem.
(Bios was updated immediately after cloning hdd to m.2 ssd and all drivers updated.)
(I swapped the 1TB hybrid drive with a Samsung 850EVO and installed an m.2 Samsung 850EVO) (OS and most files on the m.2 drive)
External hard disk: Transfer of large sizes or even a single large file (GoPro video near 4gb) occurred rather erratically (fluctuating between 90+ and 40+ mb/s) and eventually reaching 0mb/s and pausing there for quite awhile before transferring again at fluctuating speeds, sometimes reaching 0 and pausing again. File transfer completes eventually, but after a ridiculously long time.
The same hard disk works fine with my desktop (writes at a steady 90+mb/s)

External ssd: transfers for awhile before reaching 0 and giving an error code. (works fine with my desktop) (error code: 0x8000745D)

Thumb drive: writes fine at 90-100+mb/s, just like my desktop.  
Notes: File transfer problems mentioned above were from both the m.2 drive and 2.5mm drive, internal transfer from the m.2 to the 2.5mm Samsung 850EVO ran fine. Samsung Magician installed, problems persist with RAPID either enabled or disabled.
 
Solutions I've tried but have not made a difference:
Chkdsk /f /r
Booting into safe mode (transfer problems existed even in safe mode)
Uninstalling and reinstalling usb drivers

My 7559 laptop is still relatively new but I feel like ever since an update in June it's been acting strange. It froze for no reason and wouldn't shut off when I held the power button. I had to unplug it and let the battery die. When I restarted everything was fine so I ran McAfee got nothing and moved on.
That said, ever since it can't seem to handle sleep mode as well as it use too. I was able to leave it on for a few weeks at a time and now I feel like I have to turn it off daily or it's Memory goes up. It's also frozen once since the initial freeze but that time it actually let me hold the power to turn it off. 
I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one experiencing this. I think it's the update that caused it, but I don't really have any proof other than McAfee hasn't found anything. I've been keeping the task manager up to keep an eye out but the only things that are noticeable are System and Compressed memory and McAfee. Well those and Chrome but chrome's always been a hog. 
I can deal with it for now, but I'm hoping there will be an update or something to fix it. I'm really just posting to see if anyone else has experienced this or something similar.

There is no need to wait until the battery runs down to turn off a frozen laptop nowadays. Simply hold down the power button until it shuts off. It will take 30-40 seconds.
You can uninstall updates if you think there is a bad update. Open Settings, Update, Advanced Options, View update History, Uninstall updates. Not all updates can be uninstalled but some can. You should also check the Event Viewer for clues as to what might be hanging up the computer.

My Inspiron 7559 is an i7 model, with an added 8GB RAM stick.Since the past week, games which used to run at 60 fps are now running at below 30 fps (Witcher 3 used to give me 50fps and now gives me 15-20fps).
I have already tried the following:
1) Disabling Game DVR in the Xbox app
2) Doing a clean install of  all drivers available on Nvidia's website
3) Installing all the above drivers after deleting the old one using Display Driver Uninstaller
4) Installing the driver available on Dell's website
5) Checking all the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel
As it sits now, the laptop is running on driver version 368.71 from Dell's support page.
Also, Here is what I've noticed:
If I launch a game immediately after installing the graphics driver, it performs at its actual 60fps level. However, 15-20 seconds into any game, the game crashes with no "XXXXXX Stopped working" dialog box. If I launch the game again, it then gives me the horribly low fps. This isn't specific to any game. The Crew, Rocket league, Witcher 3, Battlefield 4, Project CARS, you name it.
I am now at my wit's end on how to solve this problem.

Is there a "driver or ICM file" for the screen? Shows up in my device manager as generic pnp.
I know the screen is an LG Philips [Unknown Model: LGD04D9] 156UD2  [DELL P/N: 53FC4] according to HWinfo64.

Hello,
Recently I bought the Dell Inspiron 7559 (gaming one).
It has the option to add a SSD drive. I bought a m.2 SSD 256gb drive from Plextor.
See link for the version. The BIOS and Windows both don't recognize the SSD.
I have put it in and out several times. Updated BIOS / Resetted BIOS. It just won't recognize it.
Do I have to tweak any settings in BIOS for the SSD slot to "activate"?
I thought this was a plug and play thing. How can I get this to work?
Note: I also have my HDD still plugged cuz it has everything on it (windows etc).
I want to convert windows to the SSD if it CONNECTS EVER.

That's a PCIe SSD -- this system supports mSATA (SATA 6G), not PCIe.  You'll need to exchange the drive for an M.2 SATA/SATA6G version.

Hi, I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 7559 for school, my first laptop ever. It took me about 6 months to finally decide on a laptop, and I'm very happy with it...it's beautiful. But, I've had two problems with the display. First, there is some slight yellow discoloration on the right half, not a big deal, just my ocd, probably just some backlight bleed or something. But the big issue is that the screen brightness flickers constantly. I can only really notice it on the lower brightnesses, but I use those so its a problem. I've tried EVERYTHING. Tons of driver fiddling, power option fiddling. I cant tell if it flickers in the bios screen or lcd bist, but I've disabled both NVidia and intel HD graphics drivers and no matter what I do, it still flickers. This makes me think that this Is a hardware issue. If anyone has some insight, I would really appreciate it. Should I send it in for repair, or just wait a bit as I read online somewhere that the lcd backlight needs to "settle in" for it to stop flickering with takes a decent amount of screen on time. Sorry for the long post, but this is my first pc and I'm a little bit picky about the function of my things. Thanks.

I got flickring problem only while playing games in my laptop.

I changed the Intel graphics video setting from maximum power saving to maximum performance

When I installed windows it automatically found a driver for both the nvidia 960m and intel hd 530.  I went to nvidia site and installed the latest drivers even though they warned it may cause instability. When  I realized things were going wrong with the screen tearing I immediately uninstalled and installed the correct video drivers from the website here.   However I am still having problems with screen tearing horizontally across the whole screen at least with videos playing through steam.  At the time of the screen tearing I did have my laptop connected to my 1080p tv via hdmi.  Any ideas?  Do I need to reinstall windows completely to get rid of the newest nvidia driver I installed?

Guys I messed up real bad... I saved up money for a year to buy this laptop and finally yesterday ordered it in ebay, and afterwards going through the details I noticed it didn't say that it had the gtx 960m video card but rather intel HD graphics built in. When you are buying from online Market, you have to double check you are getting an functional complete legit products, and read reviews from many sources before buying a specific products.
In your case, Dell Inspiron 15 7559 was an "Manufacture Refurbished" of returned Inspiron 15 to the factory according to the description.
Thus, read carefully next time, as refurbished are likely "tested" to function as intended. From the page on Ebay you have brought, it might have been a bad buy, so you got rip off for the wrong product if you did not get your refund. Ebay in my view is not too safe, it more of a trade market  versus places where you can buys computer officially. Thus this problem is between you and the seller.

Hi All,
My problem is ... no, not quite so, my PROBLEM is Windows 10 Anniversary Update gets downloaded, installed and failed again and again. When it goes through Windows Update Center everything goes well but finally after a reboot I get a notification that the system couldn't install the update. No other information or error codes provided. After that Windows Update Center finds the same Anniversary Update and everything goes in circle. I called Microsoft Support three times with different engineers but with the same final result - the problem still unsolved. I used MediaCreationTool utility as well. With this utility the whole process goes well but finally I get popup window that says "Error occurred while installing update". When I tried to reinstall Windows 10 from the image created by MediaCreationTool I got error code 0xd0000034 (finally!!! something I can use to find a solution !!!), but looking through the Internet for this code didn't help to resolve this. Any other updates are installed with no issues. The Problem only with Anniversary Update.

While playing CS:GO, my laptop froze and won't shutdown with holding down the power button, had to open up the back panel and pull the battery connector to shut it down. This is the first time it happened, had the laptop since Feb.
Is it related to cpu temperature management? Ambient temperature in my room is kinda high lately would peak to 87 degrees C using HWMonitor from 80 normally.
Any feedback/replies to this post is pretty much appreciated! Just want to know what to avoid to keep it from happening again.

The laptop is totally new. It's delivered 2 days ago. Everything is fine until I find the sound issue.
The sound is working as I turn on the laptop, but if I restart the laptop, the sound is gone.And if I shut down the laptop completely, then turn on the laptop again, the sound is working again.

Hi guys,

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400, service pack 3.

Up until Monday, my sound was working fine. Now I simply can't get any sound out of my laptop whatsoever!

I am wondering whether someone has somehow changed settings or volumes I don't know about so if anyone can suggest anywhere to look I'd appreciate it.

I know my soundcard AND speakers are fine. I checked my Device Manager and the device is fine. I also ran a diagnostics check at startup.. as in the F12 key and checked the sound.. I heard a few melodies, clicked the 'yes' I can hear button and the test was complete..

So why, when I turn on my laptop and play a song/video/etc.. can I not hear a single sound?

Obviously, my laptops general settings are not muted.. I have checked.

Any help would be appreciated!

My 6 month old Dell Inspiron 7559 has starting coming apart from around the left side hinge. The keyboard plate is being separated from the bottom chassis and can see inside. Dell support say its damage or wear and tear. Really!. The laptop has been at home and not moved beyond 5 feet for the last 6 months. There is NO damage and even a microscopic inspection will not reveal any damage. Wonder how UK support brushed me off even after sending photos and saying not covered by warranty. Had been a Dell customer for last 12 years and this is my 4th Dell and definitely the last one. Cannot stand a company like this

I have a Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559.   It is 5 months old.  The left hinge started clicking and now everytime my computer opens the computer is starting to come apart.  I have the premium warrenty.  I have called 3 times today and talked to different people.  I have been disconnected 3 times with no one calling me back.  They say that the hinges are not covered under warrenty.  It hasn't been dropped or mistreated.   I have been a dell customer for over 15 years so i'm not sure  why they are giving me a hard time or not calling me back.    Also while gaming my fan is running super hot.    

Does anyone have any suggestions or a number I should call to get actual decent help.

Does the system overheat? Does it freeze or turn off automatically when its hot? What applications are you using when the fan issue is noticed? Is the fan noisy? Does it run with noise from the time the system is turned on? Are there any bluescreens / system crashes?
Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/2aV8Rib - restart the system and check the fan functionality.

Hello all,
I have a Dell Inspiron 7559 laptop that I bought about a month ago.  When I hook it up to my external speakers and start up a game such as WoW, the sound that comes out of the speakers sounds awful... like it's a way lower bitrate than it shoudl be, missing depth and fullness... almost as if it were coming out of one of those old pc speakers. 
If I unplug the speakers, let the OS realize they were disconnected, then plug them back in again, it works fine. 
Anyone see this before?

Hello everyone,

Recently I've restored my Win7 installation using the original install image on the computer.
Since then my sound is not working properly - once every few seconds it jumps and makes weird noises.

I've tried updating the sound card drivers, and/or installing new codecs, but to no avail.
This happens with every music/video file on my computer and also when playing online content. The problem remains with any music/video player (tested WMP, Winamp, VLC, etc...), with speakers or headphones.

A few days ago a friend of mine suggested this might be caused due to a memory issue.
Something about memory paths getting rewired in the wrong way.
I've also noticed that when this happens my mouse pointer is sort of stuck.

If anyone has had this problem and/or knows how to fix it, I'd love to know about it...

When you restored, did you do it with the "F8" Dell Recovery Partition on the hard drive? Or did you do it manually with discs?

One issue we see on the Dell user forum is that the Dell sound driver must be used for proper operation.

Outdated device drivers such as video can also cause this.

So I have been trying to have sound from my TV through HDMI but it is not working. 
I tried to update all of my sound drivers, but there is one that will not and it is called "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" in Device Manager > Other Devices. 
The Device status of this is:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I do not know how to update this with this error and would like some help. I feel that updating that driver will allow me to have the HDMI work with sound.

I have the Dell Inspiron 7559 (non-touch) and was able to install the Windows 10 Anniversary Update today after a long session of sitting though Windows Updates. Everything seemed to work fine, except that I had to uninstall my antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection). No biggie, I'll just reinstall it after the update. I think it also said that the Intel WiDi drivers had to be uninstalled as well, which it did automatically, but that was all that happened during that process.
So I attempt to do so, and I was able to install it via the .msi file (the .exe file wouldn't work for some reason), and the computer begins to reboot. Constantly. The laptop would freeze somewhere from when the login screen appears to a couple minutes after that. It would hang for a couple minutes, then reboot. It rebooted enough times for it to go to the Windows 10 recovery options. I just told it to restart so that I could tell it to boot into safe mode on the next bootup (shift-click restart when I got inside Windows). It works, and I then tell it to boot into safe mode.
Now my laptop won't boot at all. It won't go past the Dell logo. I can enter the BIOS and the boot options menu, as well as load the ePSA diagnostics tool and have the tests pass (no errors). But it won't get past the Dell logo after this. It doesn't restart, flash lights or anything like that. Just hangs on the Dell logo.
How can I resolve this issue?

I bought the Inspiron 15 7000 (1TB HDD, non-touch) two months ago and have noticed that my screen flickers slightly intermittently. I'm adding a link to a video showing the problem at the bottom of this message.
I first noticed the problem during my first week of using this laptop and assumed it was a driver or software issue. Since then I've searched through forums to see if someone else has a similar thing going on. A lot of people have commented negatively about the screen for this model but that's mostly because of the colors and low brightness.
I have installed all the latest drivers (video, graphics, BIOS) from Dell's website as well as played with power settings (Dell Power Manager Lite and Intel's Graphics Properties) but to no avail. I should also point out that having the laptop on battery or plugged in makes no difference and the problem persists.
Please let me know if there's anything else I should try before sending it back to Dell. Thank you!

This is a recent problem I ran into with my new 7559. About a week ago I did a factory reset because the speakers were having a problem, and it worked fine for a couple days. Afterwards it would go into this flickering loop after it would wake up from sleep. This makes it so anytime I'm not using the laptop I basically have to shut it down, which really ***. I've posted a link of what the issue looks like. I ran the dell hardware test and my computer passed, and I also updated my drivers so I don't know what else to do. Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on what's happening.

I have two issues. the first one i have seen it in another post but i didn't see some kind of a solution. I have the latest drivers in my inspiron 7559 and i have this issues:
1)  My laptop fans are awake long time after i quit any game. Especially GPU demanding games.  If i press the sleep button and i wake it up again fans doesn't awake up again. This is a strange issue. i have the 1.1.7 BIOS version.
2) My laptop for some reason is getting freeze at any situation. Last 2 weeks happened 3 times. One time happened in youtube and the other 2 in EDGE browser, and i couldnt move nothing. Neither the cursor.
I dont have any other problems with my laptop. All seems to be fine. But i dont know with these issues  i start to think some negatives thoughts...,

Computer / Driver specs below.

PROBLEM: When I play midi sounds its very choppy. Sounds in games are ok but after 1/2 hour or so can become choppy and sound needs to be stopped and restarted. When playing WMAs WMVs or MP3s sound can become choppy after 1/2 hour and only resolution is to stop sound from playing and trying to restart application and continue from where I left off.

This began a year and a half ago so no way to pinpoint now what cause was.

NOTE:
1. I do not experience this when I play a CD on my computer.
2. Also note that when I use tunebite which passes audio through my sound card and recaptures and saves it in a different form there are no issues either. I have recorded over an hour of pristine sound with no choppyness and played this sound on an mp3 player.

I suspect that I am having a hardware issue with my dell sound card but I need a way to prove that I am not experiencing an issue with driver conflicts on my computer. I wish I could download and run a diagnostic test to find out at which level the sound is being corrupted.

I have made a detailed image map attached with all information pertaining to my sound drivers.

We purchased the 7559 in May 2016 and have been having problems since then.   Several attempts to get this addressed with no luck.  Numerous driver loads/reloads/reconfigurations.   The diagnostics show "no problems", and now Dell Tech Support is saying that it's a software issue requiring a software warrany for an additional charge (before we can ship it back for repair).  
Definitely my last Dell given the effort they put into not addressing the issue.  
Has anyone else seen this problem on the 7559 (4k or otherwise)?  Did Dell support the issue?  And if so how?  (Please not another "new" driver)?   I have a few months on the warranty and have tired of the technical support that doesn't help.

Hi all,
I've recently bought a Dell 7559 refurbished, with the Intel core i5 and GTX 960m. Within a day or two of use, the screen began to flicker upon booting up or waking from sleep mode, and it seems that the longer the laptop was in sleep/off mode, the worse the flickering is upon booting up. I've been trying to figure out what's going on, I've updated all drivers and such from the Dell support page, but nothing seems to fix this issue. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm certainly bummed out to have run into this issue within just days of buying the product. I've uploaded a youtube video to try and show what's going on.

Also, we will have to perform the ‘LCD BIST’ (Built in Self-test) on the computer. Please follow the steps mentioned below to run the “LCD BIST’.

Turn of the computer.
Press and hold down the ‘D’ key on the keyboard and press the Power button.
You will see different colors on the LCD screen. Please check if the issue reoccurs on the screen.

In addition, please connect the system to an external monitor and check if the issue reoccurs.

i have just purchased a DELL Inspiron 15 5000 SERIES - 5559 with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed in Spanish. I have also purchased a DELL 24" additional screen SE2416H.
Whilst watching live internet broadcasts (TV, Youtube etc.) on Chrome, Edge or Firefox, as soon as I connect the screen to the laptop by HDMI cable, the sound on my laptop speakers disappears. Upon disconnection of the HDMI screen cable, the sound re-appears.  
However, the sound doesn't disappear when using other sound applications such as Skype. 
This means I can't enjoy watching internet TV with sound on the 24" screen.
Please advise how to fix this as the main point of purchasing the 24" screen was precisely to be able to watch (and listen to) TV programs.

Every since windows 10 upgrade i have been having issues with my audio. When i start a video for the first time i will hear crackling and poping noise then it will catch up after i pause the video and play again.  Then the audio slowly goes out of sync.  At first i thought that were my speakers, but it was happening over headphones as well.  I tried the latest version of driver along with switching to the windows 10 generic audio drivers.  Anyone else having issues with this?

I am on a Dell Inspiron 1100 and when I boot the system, most of the time, I get an error before the BIOS loads that reads as follows:

"The Device in the system modular bay cannot be identified. It may not be completely inserted or may have some other problem. Please read and complete the following steps.

1. Press the device completely and firmly into the bay.
2. Press the ESC-key -- wait for the system to power down.
3. Press the power button to retry detecting the device."

My BIOS version was just recently updated as I ran into the problem to BIOS Revision A32. I called Dell Technical Support and the support told me to remove the optical drive and reinsert it. I did as told. I booted the system up and before the BIOS loads, bam, error once again. The technical support didn't even know what to do. The support said that I may have a failing mobo. Now, how would one go about seeing if their mobo was failing? I'd really love to check this before actually going to purchase another mobo, Hell, purchasing a brand new computer or building my own considering I am sick of Dell's erroneous electronics.

You should first try a second hard drive with a full install. That usually fixes the problems with the 1100, 1150, 5100m, 5150, and 5160 which all seem to have the same problems.
Remember that this optical drive is fragile, and has a history of failure. New models are available with DVD RW that are quite reliable, on eBay. They range from $72 to $85 to $89 to $95. If you are good with tools, you can get the generic one, then revise the hardware to make everything fit just fine.

Recently my laptop screen started to go black randomly. I think that the issue started after one of the Dell Updates. What's interesting in never happens during gaming, only when using a browser, Word, etc or left idle. When it happens the laptop is completely unrensponsive the only thing I can do is to hold the power button to turn off the laptop. Also when the screen goes black it seems like the backlight it's still on. I tried already tried to update both GPU's drivers, BIOS drivers, reseted BIOS to default settings and change power settings to maximum but it still happens.

Try reinstalling the video drivers from the vendor site - Intel - http://intel.ly/1Py9EoB and http://www.geforce.com/ for nvidia driver for your specific OS.
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.
If the system is under warranty, write me a private conversation with the service tag, your name and email address.

I just bought the highest spec Inspiron - 8gb ram, 4k display, ssd+hdd & I got few issues.

Firstly, the problem with the track pad. Right out of the box the *** track pad was glitchy. The left click wouldn't register all the time, and the track-pad it self has so much play. I get this is their cheaper line, but can anyone else confirm this same build quality? And if they have the same problem with the left click. Right click registers 100% of the time.

Secondly, my windows boots really quick. But there is this weird freaking lag I feel. If I put my laptop on sleep or shut the lid and continue from where I left off every single folder I open is so slow. And regardless of restarting my pc or not, maximizing or minimizing windows has this stutter feel to it. Like the windows fall behind...

I have changed the setting to performance vs visual. I have updated the bios as per Tech support, updated the video card & windows; I still get this really bad lag. I have windows 10 on pc, and I want to know how to fix this issue. I would also like to know if anyone else is experiencing this stuff. And apparently my in home warranty only covers track pad but not the software side of it. The sales person did a poor job at explaining the warranty side by saying everything is covered with in home warranty.

$1600. was it worth it. We will see in 2 weeks. Help

Hi, I have a question that's not directly related to the original post but it also has to do with the Inspiron 7559. I've owned mine for ~3 mo. Two days ago it installed an NVIDIA driver update. Last night a game I was playing suddenly froze and I had to force quit, but after I restarted the game (at which time my internet browsers were also open but they were only displaying gmail and another simple website with no multimedia playing), the computer completely froze. Mouse didn't work, and ctrl-alt-delete didn't work. I finally tried to force shutdown the laptop by holding the power button for a long time, but that also didn't work, which was worrying. This laptop has an internal battery, so I couldn't just remove the battery to force a shutdown. I ended up unplugging the external power and letting the laptop run its battery out so that it shut itself down.
This only happened once, and the laptop turned on ok this morning, but I'm worried that if a similar situation happens again, I wouldn't have any other options if the power button doesn't work like it's supposed to.

Are there any bluescreens / system crashes? Does the system overheat? What is the current OS installed on the system?

If the system tends to work fine, create a system restore point, so you could always restore the system back to a functional state if any SW issue is caused.
If the issue reoccurs at any point, then 
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.

Restart the system and press f2 key to enter BIOS - leave the system in BIOS environment with the adapter plugged in and check if the system freezes at any point. There is a system clock in BIOS that keeps ticking - if the system freezes at any point, then the system clock would have frozen.

My contention is that the sales dept. original misunderstood their product and sold me a machine that does not perform the function requested.  They misrepresented the product.
I had the Laptop for 2 weeks before i started having issue with display drivers,  was email tech supports for another 2 weeks before i was able to get any type of help. While on the phone i was asking question about this laptop, and the Tech Support told me i never should have bought this.. its made to do the type of graphic design work i do.
So i immediately called customer care, they wouldnt return my laptop cause i missed my widow by 3 days, Even though it was i was with Tech support for almost 3  1/2 weeks of setting up times to get my laptop looked at, in which Dell missed the schedule appointments  2x..
Sale reps are not educated on the product and shouldnt be selling with proper education..
now im stuck in limbo waiting for a tech to come change out my mother board, honestly as soon as its fixed its going to ebay..

I bought this laptop exactly one month ago, and I haven't had a single problem until today. I was in the middle of typing when my keyboard suddenly stopped working. I went to restart the driver, but nothing worked, so I decided to just shut down the computer and wait it out. The laptop started shutting down, with the screen off and everything, however after a while the fan was still gently going, indicating it was still on, and the light on the power button was still on as another indicator that it was STILL on. Holding down the power button doesn't shut the computer off no matter how long I press it, and it just won't turn off or on, as if it's stuck trying to turn off but can't completely. The keyboard is, I assume, still not working, so maybe the power button is also broken.
Windows 10 automatically updated about 4 days ago for me, but I hadn't had any problem with it. The laptop has been working perfectly until today. I desperately can't afford to lose my files, is there a way to fix this/has this happened before with a solution? I could try taking the battery out as well but I don't think I have the proper equipment to take out the torx screws around the battery.

Hello.

So i received my laptop and decided to install some games on it. I had some issues in one of them and a friend of mine suggest my  to do a Factory reset and when it was doing it i received an error message. I had to do it with a flash drive. I downloaded the ISO file from Microsoft.

I then went to the Dell Support Page. Is there any other driver i need to download and install? i selected scan device & download automotically. I downloaded gForce Experience separately.

I saw an option called PC diagnostic, i wanted to run it. I selected all the devices/hardware on the list.
Is it normal that it lasted 6 hours and something?

Another thing. During some stages of the test, my CPU & Memory usage were on or above 90% (i only had 4 Windows of Microsoft Edge)

Where is the HDD located? is it normal to get hot/warm on the left bottom side? (left side of the touch pad)

When we purchased this laptop, I tried to verify with Dell Support what ssd would fit before the laptop arrived so we could order and have it I hand. I was told the m.2 2280 ssd format was correct and ordered the Samsung 850 EVO. After both arrived, I went to install the ssd and the slot was not the same as the layout of the ssd - it only had one notch vs. two for the Samsung 850. I did some research and found out it the mobo was designed for the pcie m.2 ssd. So I sent back the 850 and ordered the Samsung 950 PRO. I installed it and nothing - could not get the laptop to recognize the ssd no matter what. SO here it is, about 8 months later and I still have a $200 ssd doing nothing. Anyone have any ideas? We'd love to put the operating system on the ssd and use the 1 TB hybrid for everything else!

This model supports SATA 6G SSDs  -- not PCIe or NVMe drives. 
When you installed the Evo card, did you check to make sure the system was setup (F2 at powerup) for AHCI mode - NOT RAID mode (which likely was the default when the system arrived)?

I just bought this Inspiron 15 7559, used.  The previous owner says it was working perfectly when he sent it to me.
When I received it (Oct 24), it would not boot up.  I'd press the power button, and the power button and keyboard backlight would come on, and a fan would come on for about 2 seconds and then stop, but that was it.  Also, the status light would alternate flashing white a few times, then amber.  We took the battery and memory out, and did a power reset.  Replaced the memory and plugged in the AC adapter, and the computer started up.  So we put the battery back in, and everything was good.
Less than a week later (Oct 30), I was using the computer, just checking Facebook and email and such, and the screen went crazy and froze up.  All I could do was do a force shutdown.  But when I tried to turn it back on, it was doing the same thing it did when I received it.  We tried what we did before, removing battery and memory and resetting power and all that, but it still will not come on.  I ran the LCD BIST test, and the screen did come on and flash different colors, so I know the screen itself still works.
The laptop is still under warranty, so I could send it in.  Or, the person I got it from said they'd give me my money back if they had to.  I just wanted to find out if it was something I could possibly fix myself, before having to send it off for who knows how long, or returning it to the previous ow... Alicia.You will need to wait for the warranty to transfer before you can send it in for repairs. The transfer could take 2-4 weeks to get the warranty transferred to your name. You can take the battery out,remove the power adapater and hold the power button down for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Put the battery back in and turn it on. If that does not work it will  need to be repaired under the warranty.

I've had the Dell Inspiron 15 7559 4k laptop since around January 2016 and I've had a lot of blue screen errors. It's always the 'whea_uncorrectable_error' blue screen that I get.
It mostly happens when I'm in the middle of using a program like Gamemaker, Photoshop or Maya and even when browsing in Chrome, but it's never once happened while playing a game, so I thought it might of had something to do with the Intel graphics, which I changed the drivers multiple times and nothing changed.
Most recently, the laptop has been giving me a critical error (shown in Dell's Support Assist) while going to Sleep or Hibernate mode. I noticed it when I had closed the lid for it to go to Sleep mode, about 2 hours later, once it automatically goes to Hibernate mode, the laptop would just switch off. I noticed this because when I switched it back on, I would have to switch the numlock back on to enter my password and none of my programs were still loaded. I checked Support Assist and another Critical Error had popped up, but with no error report.
I've tried reseting the BIOS, but nothing changed apart from the function key was reset - I've never needed to change anything in the BIOS. All drivers and the BIOS is up to date. I also switched off Fast-boot as it was one of the many things I read that might help the issue, but didn't. New laptop arrived today.
First boot no issues, second boot, error message which locked the system as follows:
"Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 353.82 stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
Whole system froze, left it for thirty minutes then had to turn off using the power button, and the same thing happened again, restarted, system ran tests, this time it booted okay, so downloaded latest Nvidia drives and updated the system, all on the system fine, then it rebooted and I got a BSOD that it was impossible to recover from the system basically just rebooted on to the same screen on a regular basis this one is
"DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION", google sends up some many potential answers, finally got in to the advanced system menu and rebooted into safe mode, removed 960M from device manager and then rebooted, no issues.
Ten minutes later, BSOD as above.

Resetting windows and it is buggered, still have the DPC_Watchdog_Violation.
Anything we can do about this or it is just a return and refund?

I bought this last week, I have installed a new ssd drive alongside the the original drive. I cannot get the OS to install without errors, I have tried various usb sticks, tried using a Dell recovery usb made on the laptop and from a downloaded image, nothing works. I tried to contact support and I keep getting sent to the Dutch website - as that is where the laptop originated. I would like to obtain a proper dell recovery disc but cannot. as I am told it does not apply to my system - even though I bought it through the UK website?
Any Dell support there to help? I would like my warranty applied to when I registered the laptop - not February and the laptop origin updated to UK

I buy a Dell Inspiron 7559 on Amazon but received a dead machine. There is not any response when press the power button (the ac adapter work correctly). Now I am in China and the Iocal technical support department told me to complete the ownership transfer first if I want to received warranty service at China. So I submit the form online but several days gone it still not complete. Now I have no idea to deal with it. I really need to get it fix ASAP.

So i'm having a bit issues with my inspiron 530 desktop. My computer has been working fine until I decided to switch my current power supply. I got the other power supply from my other pc which I do not use anymore. After plugging cables in my pc turned on by itself and then turned off after a split second. After that it didn't turn on. I switched back to my other power supply which was working fine. My results was that my pc turns on itself when the power cord is plugged into the wall. Now there is no display shown but everything was working fine before. Also, the power button does not work either after. Im not sure if everything is plugged in properly. Can anyone show me the inside of their inspiron 530? Please help!

I cant get the laptop to boot.
On powering up, i will go to either to the Dell SupportAssist (?) and tells
"Memory Errors Detected. Limit Exceeded. Additional Errors will not be resolved"

or it gets to win10 BSOD (BAD_POOL_HEADER mostly)

I have tried repeatedly uninstalling and reinstalling both intel and nvidia drivers, using the stock dell drivers and the latest from each manufacturer.  Did a clean install of windows.  The computer beeps when I plug in the monitor but other than that pretends as if it doesn't exist.  Nothing shows up on boot even on the 2nd monitor.  It shows up as a grey screen in display properties but attempts to clone/extend display doesn't do anything.  I can't change resolution or anything either.

The touchpad on my brand new Inspiron 15 7559 is completely unresponsive. The mouse cursor does not even appear on my screen unless I plug in an external mouse. I have tried looking on the Dell website for drivers to download but none of them have worked yet. Can anyone help me?

So I've been having some serious issues with poor performance on my Inspiron 15 7559.  It's really any one thing, most of my interactions are bad.  When I try to play videos from sites besides YouTube or Netflix I get a very stuttery playback.  It also loads pages slowly as well on chrome and firefox.  I've had Dell reimage the drive with Windows, and have had the motherboard already replaced due to a separate issue with the speaker.  Have anyone else encountered these issues?  After spending $1200 on a laptop I would expect much better performance (at least equal with my 3 year old Alienware, which has an older generation processor yet is super smooth).

Hi guys,
My external mic - a JBL synchros e40bt which works great in other computers - doesn't work with the Inspiron 15 7559-A20 that I bought today, even after updating drivers, checking Dell's Audio software, selecting "this is a microphone" option when plugging in, running Dell's diagnostic program, checking if "Realtek" is showing by the device name, etc.
Can you please help? Such a bad experience with such an expensive computer.

There's something wrong with my colours. I ran a test on Gta V and the sky looks more grey than light blue and in general all is blurry and washed out. I know, is not the best display, but is something that I've never experienced in any display. Could it be a driver issue? I've installed the latest.

I placed a SSD in my new Dell, copied the HDD to the SSD via Minitool Partition Wizard and now want to change the boot sequence so it starts from the SSD. In the UEFI I only see the options:
Windows Boot manager
NIC IPv4
NIC IPv6
How do I get the laptop to start from the SSD?
