Lenovo Yoga 710 Dual Monitor using the mini HDMI

Q: Lenovo Yoga 710 Dual Monitor using the mini HDMI

Hi, I brought a Mini HDMI to DVI cable to use an additional monitor, however i am reading that this dose not typically work with Lenovo's. This seems very stupid! Is there any way to run dual monitor on the 710 or do i need to get a $100 One Link Hub?

Hey folks. Maybe you can help me? Bear in mind I know little about display outputs and conversion methods. I want to output the screen of my Lenovo Yoga 2 (II) to my old Dell 2005FPW monitor - http://www.cnet.com/uk/products/dell-2005fpw/specs/ I have done research online about this, but no clear instructions are available about what hardware I'm going to need to get this to work.  My old Dell 2005FPW monitor accepts DVI input. My Yoga 2 outputs HDMI via the mini-HDMI port. I know cables are available for mini-HDMI to DVI, but I have seen reports for other laptops (including Lenovo) and this monitor not working using this setup. Apparently in some cases you need a converting device of some kind. There are also reports of Lenovo mini-HDMI connections only allowing output to HDMI (i.e. you can't use a single cable to convert), is this true for the Yoga 2? If so I guess I would definitely need a device to convert the signal to DVI. Added to the confusion is talk of this monitor having problems with HDCP, whatever that is, and I can't find out if the Yoga 2 outputs that.  Phew. So in conclusion, can I get away with a simple mini-HDMI to DVI cable? If not, will it work if I use a device to convert the signal, and if so, can you recommend a cheap and simple device to do this that a novice like me can understand? Thanks very much for any help!

Hello, I am attempting to use the mini display port outpt on the Thinkpad Yoga14 to connect to an HDMI monitor using a miniDP to HDMI adapter. I've tried two different adapters. The monitor is never recognized. However, the mini-display port will work with a miniDP to DVI or miniDP to VGA adapter cable (I verfied this at a store where there were multiple cables and monitors to use).

miniDP to HDMI: does not work
miniDP to DVI: works
miniDP to VGA: works

Has anyone else seen this problem?

My mini HDMI output has stopped working. No video no sound on the external screen. I've updated everything- Windows, Intel Graphics drivers, all the critical updates on the Lenovo companion app but still no luck. The computer doesn't even seem to recognise that the output is connected (the little sound that plays when the cable is plugged in doesn't play). I have tested the cable and monitor on another lenovo device and all works fine.  Frustratingly the output seems to work when connected via the Thinkpad Dock.  Also of note: the advanced display settings no longer takes me to the desktop verison of the application. Even if I go through the control panel, but takes me to the basic windows 10 interface, Anybody have any ideas- I really need to be able to project from my computer

So I'm using an M73 Mini Tower with 1 VGA and 1 Display Port output as a PC for a dashboard that's to display stats and different data refreshing in internet browser windows. Our IT department has purchased two VIZIO 50' TVs and we have the PC mounted behind the TVs which are also mounted on the wall. We have one of the TVs connected by using a DisplayPort to HDMI cable and it has an active video signal. Here's the problem. We're trying to get the other TV connected as a second monitor through the TV's HDMI input, but the TV doesn't recognize the PC output. We've tried using a VGA cable with a StarTech.com HD2VGAMICRO converter. We've also tried a VGA to RGB converter cable which also failed miserably. Any suggestions?

I have a Yoga 11s that started having hdmi connection issues about a year ago and has recently quit connecting to an external monitor via HDMI completely. We tried upgrading to Windows 10 to see if that would overwrite any software issues - no luck. The HDMI port actually appears loose. I did an extensive search of the forum and found posts that recommended cutting down the rubber around the base of the hdmi cord - tried that and at least I had a little activitiy - in the upper right hand corner of the external monitor up popped a box that says DVI then VGA then HDMI - but then says No Signal. Tried the graphics card update recommended on a post from long time ago and a popup indicated I had a newer version already installed. I have taken it to a laptop repair place - said they couldn't get parts from Lenovo. I found an "authorized" Lenovo repair shop locally - when I called they said they only work on business machines Called Lenovo and they told me to take it to Best Buy - however since I purchased this directly from Lenovo, Best Buy said they can't work on it. I would rather not send it into Lenovo because they tried to charge my hubby hundreds of dollars when his 15 day brand new laptop quit working, claiming damage - luckily extensive pictures taken and dated prior to sending it in thwarted that attempt at extortion. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have the 2nd setup through a vga to hdmi cable but it just sits there black with "check signal cable."

2nd monitor is an lg2241

Tried:

- multiple re-boots
- downloaded a driver from LG but don't see that it did any kind of install. Double clicking it's zip file opened it and clicking on the three files did nothing but open gibberish code.
- at screen resolution I see multiple displays and I have it set on extended.
- Clicked detect and identify
- #2 says display device on vga
- tried unplugging and reconnecting the cable (hdmi to vga)

I'm lost. SOS!

lol!

Thx,
Dave

A:Dual monitor setup hdmi to vga on 2nd monitor shows nothing

Dave welcome to the Seven Forums.

That cable won't work unless the VGA port on the computer/laptop supports digital (highly unlikely), as VGA is an analogue signal and HDMI is digital. To get it to work you would need some kind of converter not an adapter, which that cable essentially is.

Assuming this is your monitor,

LG E2241V-BN: 22" Full HD LED LCD Monitor | LG USA

is says it has a VGA port on it. If it does then just use a plain old VGA cable.

Hi,

I recently purchased a Lenovo Yoga 900 to replace an older Lenovo Thinkpad. I use two laptops with the same peripherals, so I run an external monitor (Dell Ultrasharp 29" monitor), a keyboard, and a mouse into a Display Link Docking Station. I then use a IOGear switch to toggle between the two laptops. The new Lenovo Yoga laptop picks up the keyboard and mouse, but does not identify the external monitor. Below are details on the new laptop.

? 6th Generation Intel Core i7-6500U Processor (2.50GHz 1600MHz 4MB)
? Windows 10 Home 64
? Intel® HD Graphics 520 (graphics card)
My other laptop is an HP ProBook running Windows 7 Professional. All of the peripherals work fine using the docking station and switch (as did the old Lenovo Thinkpad). The only exception is that in my previous configuration, the monitor would periodically not connect with the new laptop when I used the switch, and I would need to restart in order for the monitor to work with the latpop I had selected on the switch. The mouse and keyboard did not have this problem.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi Fin,
OptiPlex 790's onboard video solution supports both VGA and DisplayPort at the same time. You can connect two monitors to the computer without adding a discrete card.

Ive plugged it all in and then used the ATI Catalyst Control Centre to set it up to how it was before. While using it to set it up it detects both monitors but when i finish the setup to clone the display to both nothing comes up on the tv, ive tried both HDMI ports on the tv but still nothing. If the computer detects its plugged in then why it not working. Any ideas i'll try asap and let you all know what the outcome is.

I need help for my 2 monitors I'm not sure what's up with one of them.
On the left I use (DVI to VGA) and the right monitor, my main one I use (mini HDMI to HDMI)
This one, the main one displays 'no signal' I've been using it for a couple months no problem working fine and a couple of days ago while on my computer it just displayed 'no signal' while my monitor on the left (vga) stayed on working perfect.
But the computer recognized the monitor still being visible as I can move things to it and when I access it on 'chrome remote desktop' on my phone you can see that it's still being displayed (picture attached below) click here and the other pic below is what I see irl, sorry for the bad lighting it's late here.
Anyway I'll get the simple suggestions out of the way
-Yes it is selected as 'HDMI' on the monitor.
-Yes the HDMI cable works as it works with my PS4 and the PS4 Hdmi cable also tested on it with no results
-Yes the monitor works, I plugged in the VGA and it displays, I also plugged in the PS4 over hdmi and it displays my PS4 no problem
- And I also replaced the 'mini hdmi adapter' and that hasn't fixed it.
So any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Hello, I just purchased a Dell computer at the unbelievable price of 400 dollars (quad core 2.4 GHz) and I also bought 2 HDMI 22' monitors. The video card in the Dell computer is built in, so I know I need a new one for the 2 monitors to work. Which video card should I use to take advantage of the High Def of both? I dont wanna spend a lot of money. Thank you for your help!

A:Solved: Which Video Card for Dual HDMI monitor

I have a GeForce 8600GT with 512 MB of memory. I've tried plenty of video cards of a lesser power than that and they all worked...sort of. Little glitches and problems seemed to always pop up though and it just wasn't a perfect experience on a dual monitor setup (one 1680x1050 and one 1920x1080) until I hit the 8600GT. Since then, its been butter all the way.

So something on a par with the 8600GT should serve you well. Some of the new ATI cards are supposed to be very good also. You probably want to look for a dual DVI port card (if the monitors have DVI of course) and use that connection and save the HDMI ports for an upscaling DVD player or somesuch. Going from dual DVI to HDMI might work or it might cause some scaling problems.

My old monitor has problems turning on, I can leave it on for 30hrs before it decides to display a picture, or I can manipulate it by unplugging the DVI cable from the back, but sometimes even that takes a few tries. It's off warranty and for reference it's a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW.

So I bought a new monitor and I have it plugged in using HDMI, but a problem I get is that when both monitors are plugged in the HDMI has no display until it gets to Windows, so I cannot see the boot process of my PC, because my old monitor as explained above has problems turning on.

Was a hindrance today when I was tinkering with my SSD and had to go to BIOS, and frankly I'd like to be able to see in case anything goes wrong, like a BSOD or Windows update etc.

So how do I get my HDMI monitor to give me a picture when the other monitor is plugged in. My new monitor is another Samsung, SyncMaster SA350.

A:Dual Monitors, HDMI monitor doesn't display BIOS

Short of something like this,

Newegg.com - BYTECC DVI-HM DVI Male to HDMI Female Cable Adaptor

not much as that is a function of the video card and nothing to do with Windows. The only way would be to try and edit the video card's bios so that the HDMI port is made to be the primary port when powering on.

Failing that if the old monitor is that bad, why use it? If the new is the only thing connected then it should display the bios screen when booting up.

I recently purchased a Lenovo X220 and I am attempting to setup a dual monitor with it and a Samsung Syncmaster BX2331 monitor. When I change the setting to extended desktop on the secondary monitor the laptop monitor starts having issues. The useable space becomes bigger than the actual screen so I can scroll up and down while on the desktop. It will also scroll left and right and the desktop icons will move over onto the secondary monitor. The laptop has a resolution of 1366x768 and the monitor is 1920x1080. I am trying to explain the issue the best I can but it's a little hard to explain.

A:Dual monitor issue Lenovo x220

I know what you mean, it happened in XP when you set the screen resolution larger than what the screen was capable of. What cable are you using the connection to your secondary monitor? On the secondary monitor, press the auto calibrate button, or it's equivalent, and then unplug the VGA/HDMI cable and plug it back in see if that fixes your problem. it's also worth trying going into the settings and checking the button that says "hides modes not supported by this monitor" If you don't know where that is, right click on the desktop and click "screen resolution" then click advanced and at the bottom of that pop up you should see that check box. Those are the first things to check.

Turning on HDMI 3rd monitor screws up the Display 1 & 2 which are VGA and DVI

I usually have Skype open and 2 browsers. Monitor 1 on DVI for work and monitor 2 is VGA for facebook Twitter and that kind of stuff and Skype under the browser on monitor 2 and monitor 3 is on a second/separate video card hooked up to HDMI used for music videos and cctv cameras.

As of lately when I turn on the HDMI monitor all the programs switch sides.

Skype will move from the lower right side of monitor 2 over to the lower right side f monitor 1
The browser thats on monitor 2 will switch over to monitor 1 and the browser that was on monitor 1 will swap sides from monitor 1 over to #2.

The 3rd monitor is sometimes used for music videos but currently it is hooked up to a CCTV DVR on the DVR VGA hookup so it even does this when the TV (Monitor 3) is not on HDMI mode for the computer.

I can turn monitors 1 and 2 on and off 1000 times and nothing will happen but as soon as I turn on the HDMI everything swaps sides.

Why would powering on HDMI display do this and how can I stop open programs from swapping sides on monitor 1 & 2 when I turn on the TV (Monitor 3) even if its not in HDMI mode when powered on?

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

Hi.

I'm not sure about this since I don't have any of those device, but your question seems to be very interesting.

According to the cable you are listing it says "USB 3.1 Type-C to Mini DisplayPort" which may mean that from a computer with USB-C port you can connect a monitor with mini display port plug, but I'm not sure if it will work the other way.

Maybe someone with more experience with USB-C can reply this.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Have you made sure your graphics card driver is up to date?

Have you tried starting your PC up in safe mode and seeing if the problem still persists?

Please ensure you have done both of these and then post back; it would also be helpful if we knew your system specifications which you can fill in under 'User CP'.

Also does the task bar appear on the primary monitor or secondary monitor?

I'm trying to find USB-C dongles that let me connect to an external 4K HDMI monitor and via VGA. I got the Club3D USB to HDMI 2.0 dongle which reviews on Amazon said works work the Yoga 900. However, on my 910 it does NOT function. Are there any other brands of adapters that are known working for HDMI 2.0 and regular VGA?

I picked up a Skylake yoga 14 (model # 20FY0002US) and I'm not getting anything from the DVI or HDMI outputs on a mini-DP to HDMI/DP/DVI adapter. This is the particular adapter I tried:http://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-HDMI%C2%AE-Passive-Adapter/dp/B013Z71ZI0/ref=sr_1_9?ie... To be clear, the adapter offers DVI, HDMI, and DP outputs, only one of which works at a time. I'm not trying to plug three monitors into it. However, if I hook up a monitor via either the DVI or the HDMI outputs, the computer freezes for 15-60 seconds and nothing shows up on the external monitor. Drivers are all updated. I've tried the adapter on a Surface Pro 3 and it worked flawlessly. I've also tried it with multiple external monitors, so the problem is definitely with my ThinkPad. I've also tried DP1.1 and DP 1.2 versions of the adapter. Again, nothing out of the DVI or HDMI outputs.  Oddly enough, when I tried a simple mini-DP to VGA adapter, it worked.  What gives? This is a pretty important functionality to be missing...

A:Skylake ThinkPad Yoga 14 (20FY) mini displayport ...

I've tried two miniDP to DVI cables which neither worked.  I just bought an Apple miniDP to VGA adapter and that doesn't work either.  I've tested the monitors and they are good.  I'm assuming the cables are not the issue since I tried three.  I just read on another post that it is a design limitation that miniDP to HDMI or DVI do not work with this laptop.  I don't understand that.  However, it says that miniDP to VGA should work.  It clearly works for you.  Did you do anything other than plug the adapter in?

Can you give me a link to an adapter on Amazon.co.uk which will definitely work? and the required specs?

Will I be able to use audio out from the HMDI (so that I can use headphones and microphone from different headsets?)

You need a Hdmi --> Vga and not the other way around. I don't know where you live but Try electronic components stores, but you'll find them also on some computer stores like compusa worten mediamarkt (Eu)

Why has HP crippled the Intel HD Graphics video in the Stream Mini?  The (only) driver that will work is the one that came w/ the machine or is on the HP website.  As a result, we can't d/l a proper Intel HD Graphics video driver that includes the Intel utility that allows one to adjust the output to deal with HDMI overscan typical of many HD TVs (and, yes, that overscan can't be turned off in many of them). As a result, the edges of the display are off-screen at 1080p resolutions.  It's clear that HP is positioning this as an HTPC but, as long as we can only use the crippled display adapter drivers, we won't be able to see all of the desktop/movie/etc. C'mon HP - get us a proper Intel HD Graphics driver for the Stream Mini! JWC

A:Stream Mini can't deal with HDMI overscan

As I could have predicted, not a peep from HP tech support.  They don't give a sh!t.

Allow me to set the stage; I have a PC with a dual monitor setup, Primary has built in speakers and HDMI, secondary monitor is just DVI/VGA. My HDTV on the other side of the room also has HDMI. I want to be able to have all of these connected and run without swapping cables around.

This scenario is pretty easy with one slight complication. While both HDMI capable devices are plugged in I can only ever get sound out of the one that is hooked up via straight HDMI. Without any extensive software to allow me to put sound through 2 outputs at once I'm aware that normal 'default sound device' switching is necessary. I'm ok with that.

Here's my setup;
Windows 8 Pro(64bit)
AMD 6Core 1090T CPU
8GB RAM
XFX Radeon HD6970
Samsung T26HD
Toshiba Regza 32"
TV, NEC Monitor
and all the other usual stuff

The Radeon has 1 HDMI, 2 Mini DP, 2 DVI ports. I currently have the NEC connect to a DVI port, The samsung is connected to the HDMI, and the Toshiba is connected to a Mini DP port via "startech MiniDP to HDMI Active adapter" (backstory: tried to purchase AMD verified, no one had it in stock that didnt want $30 dollars to ship a <1/2lb item)

As of right now I'm stumped, If I plug either and only one of the device in to either slot (HDMI or MiniDP) I can get sound no problems, so I know the adapter carries sound. however when you bring the second device into the mix, i get no sound from the device connected to the MiniDP.

No HDMI Audio via TV. Hi,  Just purchased the Yoga, but first time use of the HDMI connector is a disappointment as the sound is not coming out of the TV.  I plug the HDMI cable in and see the picture (cloned) on the TV, but the audio(system sounds and playing video) is still coming out of the Yoga. In CP/Sounds/Playback I see "Realtek High Definition Audio" as the only device (with both of the right-click "Show ..." options selected). In Devman/Sounds, A & GC I see "Realteck High Definition Audio Device" but also "Intel(R) Display Audio". Could someone who has HDMI sound working tell me whether in their CP/Sounds/Playback they see more than just the Realtek entry, eg an Intel HDMI one too perhaps? And maybe the HDMI entry is only shown when the HDMI device is connected? I have read that it is the Intel driver that does the HDMI output, is that correct? Or any other advice that might help/fix please. Cheers

Hello everyone,I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 13 about 3 years ago. Everything was running smooth until recently. For some reason now that I want to watch a movie on my TV through a HDMI cable the notebook powers off. No image appears, just goes completely dark and turns off. I updated the drivers. I have tried many different televisions (both expensive high quality tvs and not so good one) and HDMI cables and still the problems persists. I even factory restored the notebook and still shut down when I connect the hdmi to the laptop.  Could it be a harware problem? Can I replace the HDMI port on the notebook?

When I connect a TV through HDMI the sound is not re-routed to the TV. The TV sound is also not appearing in the Playback Devices of the Sound  control panel in the bottom right corner. In order to make it worked I need to do the following :- Connect the HDMI cable and ensure the TV screen is displaying the laptop screen.- Put the Laptop on Sleep- Resume the laptop. in  90% of the case then the sound is re-routed to the tv but it is a bit of pain to do it every time. If it does not work I put the laptop to sleep again. Any idea how to make it worked all the time. It worked like a charm on my X1 1st generation. Thanks,Laurent

Hi everyone! I just got a used Dell Venue 11 Pro 5130 from ebay for $115. This is my first tablet and it was pretty cheap so I decided to roll the dice and see what it could do. Here are the specs: Dell Venue 11 Pro 5130 Tablet Review - NotebookCheck.net Reviews
I has Windows 10 32 bit on it. The previous owner did the upgrade and then fully reset it before sending it. I did a full reset again just in case, and installed all updates (currently on anniversary update). I intend to use this for light web browsing and streaming music and Netflix. I really want to be able to hook it up to my home theater and watch movies on Netflix. I have a 5.1 Onkyo HDMI receiver for my home theater. I bought a mini-HDMI adapter and Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (with the intent to return whichever one is less convenient). The microsoft adapter is hit or miss and disconnects quite often, but that's not the problem. I can't get either adapter to play audio in surround sound. When I go to the playback devices, the receiver is listed there, but when I hit configure and do the 5.1 speaker test, the rear sounds are coming out of the front speakers, and I don't think the center speaker is working either. When using the wireless display adapter it ONLY gives me the option of stereo. Does anyone know how to resolve this or if its even possible? Bought a gtx 460 for some reason. And for some other reason HDMI is shown as no input. I read somewhere to get audio through hdmi u have to enable it throguh bios have to enable visual hdmi there as well?

Also I wanted to know a good program that lets me see how my video card is performing and if its being bottleknecked?

A:Can't get Mini HDMI input to work from graphics card

If you want to check if your video card is being bottlenecked, just open up resource manager and play any game you like.

Check how much strain is being put on the cpu and compare it to the gpu usage.

GPU-Z is my personal favorite gpu monitoring program. Get it from TechPowerUp.

If you have a core 2 duo running under 3.5 ghz it'll most likely be a bottleneck in modern games.

However, with a quad core with a clock rate of at least 2.5 or so then you should be fine.

Also, it really depends on the game.

Older games less cores doesn't really matter as much as the gpu. Newer games can become really demanding on both the cpu and gpu.

I fought this problem all day and I think I have it narrowed down. System is Lenovo Yoga 900 i7 with Windows 10 with all latest updates. Application is Citrix Receiver 4.5. When using Quickbooks with the Citrix Receiver, mouse clicks are disabled/not recognized.  All keyboard inputs still work, the mouse arrow tracks correctly, but mouse clicks seem to be ignored.  This behavior occurs when booting to dual monitor setup with HDMI adapter in the USB Type-C port; booting to single monitor (Yoga), then plugging the HDMIR adapter in the USB Type-C port.  The only resolution is to boot to single monitor (Yoga) and work in single monitor mode exclusively.  I am using the USB Type-C to HDMI adaptor purchased from Lenovo.  This occurs with the Yoga trackpad AND occurs with my USB wireless mouse. Also note with native Windows applications, the mouse works fine with both  monitors connected and active. I really bought the HDMI adaptor to use two monitor with the Citrix Receiver.  I have tried to Google this problem, but I'm unable to find a Citrix Receiver support site/forum that would be appropriate for this question. Any advice appreciated.

Since I've installed Windows 10 on my ThinkPad Yoga S1 (20C0-S0AX00), I've never been able to get audio via HDMI working. In theory, it looks like it's all fine: ? In practice, however, no audio is transmitted via HDMI (I tried it with different monitors), and the video signal of any application trying to play audio over HDMI is stuttering ? as if it's trying to sync audio and video, but failing for some reason. As soon as the output device is changed, the video plays smoothly again. Changing the "Default Format" did not change anything. Currently, "16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD quality)" is selected. A support ticket I opened quickly after upgrading to Windows 10 promised a driver update to fix this. A more recent ticket advised me to revert to the stock Windows 8.1 installation instead, which I refuse to do. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this issue?

A:ThinkPad Yoga S1 - No sound via HDMI on Windows 10

Hi

I have a different Thinkpad Yoga. Checking your issue I wonder if you would like to do some "trial and error" like:

1) Try a different HDMI cable, you never know.
2) Check the driver version of you Intel Display Audio. Here it is mine:
?
3) Just in case check the Lenovo Support site for your model and try updating the Intel Video and Realtek drivers just in case.

This is only that cames to my mind right now.

Hi I wonder if anyone else has had this problem, and more importantly if anyone else knows the solution? The ProblemIn the past few weeks, using the Lenovo-supplied mini HDMI to VGA adaptor has caused intermittent problems:-Immobilising the system so that the only thing that works is the mouse cursor (but icons on the desktop and within programs won't work)Causing a blue screen of deathBut on some occasions it works perfectlyWith the adaptor removed, everything is fine & stable apart from:-The system won't shut down correctly (it just hangs and says its shutting down but never does)The system won't go to sleep properly (power light remains on)The system won't "wake up" when the lid is openedWhen the problem first arose, it was just the system "freeze" issue, which fixed itself.  After trying to use the adaptor unsuccessfully a couple of days ago I had the blue screen of death and now have the additional "shut down" and "sleep" issues which don't seem to have gone away. I should mention as well that for some reason when I plugged in the HDMI-VGA lead at one point, the system crashed and took me to a BIOS screen rather than re-booting.  The system is now performing a disk scan on booting up, which it didn't before. This seems to be an issue caused by the HDMI-VGA adaptor, but how on earth this can have such an effect I really don't know.  I have ordered a replacement so that I can check this out. Right now I am in the process of check... Hi,

So eagerly i tought to buy this cool looking laptop for a huge $2000 i needed it to output to a hdmi monitor ot TV so sometimes i could see movies as well, now i had to buy the special DA200 dell adaptor and in the past 3 weeks it`s been a complete nightmare, i WAS NEVER ABLE to make it work permanently. The chat support was no help at all usually simply resuming to try and replace the part but i do think the part is good and i didn't feel like waiting 2 weeks for it to ship from china.

The ethernet and usb work on the DA200 adaptor , EXCEPT HDMI.  SOMETIMES it would work briefly until next restart, i had tried everything ever available on the internet. The laptop is running Windows 10 (as it`s restricted to that version, i tried to install other versions with lots of issues and compatibility issues) so  i have installed reinstalled and installed different versions of the video driver for all possible windowses and none worked. what did work was very brief until next restart and that usually happened when i had a fresh windows install, after the first restart i will get a non working hdmi again.

I have tried several hdmi cables so i know it`s not the hdmi cable or the tv ot the monitor. and nobody seems to be able to help!!

Bought my son a Lenovo yoga 3 on 15/7/2015 from PC World £800, by 5/8/2015 it stopped working. Took it back on 5/8/2015 and PC World exchanged it no problem. After one year and three week the replacement has stopped working. Sent it back to Lenova who are now demanding £250 to repair it saying it needs a new main board and power supply - what after just a year old - clearly not fit for purpose - they accept it has not been damaged through misuse. I am waiting for a manager call back but I am absolutely appalled at the stance being taken by lenova and unless we get it repaired free of charge I will be taking the matter further. Any one else experienced such problems ?

I bought Lenovo Yoga 700 about a month ago from a CompUSA store for my personal use following my early retirement. Before Lenovo, I had Dell which the company provided and upgraded every 3 years. I never had any issue with Dell, nada. As I start using my new Lenovo laptop, I started having problem and nightmares. Minutes from booting up and starting my laptop, the screen would go crazy as if some external force take control over my computer. I could not do anything, literally nothng to stop it other than turning it off. I took back the laptop to CompUSA to return it for refund, but they refused becasue I did not buy insurance. They reffered me to their Geek to check it for me.  It took the Geek four days and $200 to say that a virus found home in my laptop, but don't worry we fixed it for you. Well, believe it or not, I took it home turned it on and guess what, boom same thing, same genie that I encountered before came back to hunt me again. Ofcourse, I took back the laptop to the Geek and ask for refund becasue they have not fixed the problem. Well guess what, they refused but I guess they felt sorry for me and told me that they beleive it is the touch screen that causing this problem and they turned it off and yes it was becasue the probelm was solved.   So, if the IBM gurus know that there is a problem with Lenovo's touch screen, why don't they recall all the ... Hi moonshine1, welcome to the forums.

Can you please share the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga ?

What I recommend is to update the drivers of the machine, specially if you upgraded to Windows 10. That can solve some issues with power and video. There is the System Update utility that can help, but it is also look manually for updated drivers on the support site, because sometimes the utility misses the newer ones.

About the touch screen, there had been some reports of "ghost touches" on the Yoga-3 with LG touchscreen. There is a firmware update for it. But if you have a non LG touch screen and you are having that ghost touches the best way to deal with it will be to open a ticket with Lenovo. If you bought it a month ago it should still be on warranty.

CompUSA is still open somewhere? I didn't know that. I thought it was bought by TigerDirect.

I have a Lenovo s10 ideapad laptop and I wanted to know if the Mini PCI-e slot is dedicated to a G3 modem, or if I could use it for something that would be useful to me?
This is the closest picture to what it looks like that I was able to find, mine has a sim card slot next to it thought.

I recently got the Yoga 13, and I love nearly everything about it. The only problem is that I like to hit the right side of the space bar, instead of the center. Though whenever I do that, it doesn't think I hit the spacebar, so I get something like this:This is whathappenswhenIhitthespacebar.Itis reallyannoying. Is there any way I can fix that? I can press it in the center and it's pefectly fine, but I normally hit the right side of the space bar, instead. Thanks

Hello all, I am looking for some help.  I just bought each of my kids a Lenovo Yoga 710 11 inch model.  We just got them turned on and connected to the Internet via our Wifi and they each downloaded Roblox.  When they go to play Roblox the games will not load or they take a good 5 minutes to load or the game will just leave the screen as it is trying to load?  Is this a common problem?  Is this not a good notebook for having a couple of games on?  I only wanted a notebook for them for schoolwork and gaming should I have went with something different?

I was standing when my laptop fell out of the laptop case and landed on the corner. There's a small crack/hole along with a dent on that corner, and the inside parts are getting exposed to the surrounding. The screen isn't cracked and the laptop works just fine for now. I was wondering: 1) Will my laptop continue working normally?2) Should I get it repaired, or get a new laptop ?

Hey, I am starting my first year in the University next year, and I need a laptop.
Most of my time I am watching Netflix and surfing the web, so I am searching for a hybrid laptop, 2 in 1.
I checked laptops for a while and found 2 that are in my budjet and they are looking good:
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 128 GB Intel i5
Lenovo Yoga 500 500 GB Intel i7
I dont know what to choose, I prefer the surface (because of the pen) but lenovo is cheaper.
Other recomendations are welcome as well.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the help!
