Hello, My HP Probook 450 is with Windows 7 and the combination FN + F9/F10 is not working. The other FN keys seem to be in order, but I can't change the brightness of the desktop directly with the FN keys. Can you please help me fix this problem?

A:Probook 450 fn + brightness not working

Did you just install Windows 7 on it or had the brightness key been working and just stopped? The brightness adjustment depends on the video driver and also on the Hotkey Support driver here: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=5359407&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3DswEnvOID%253D4058%257CswLang%253D%257Caction%253DlistDriver&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken So I would reinstall the Intel chipset driver, the video (AMD or Intel) and the Hotkey driver and see if it clears up the problem. If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

More likely it is the video driver. Microsoft Basic will not respond to the brightness adjustments. Check the device manager and see what it is showing for the display adapter.

Display brightness controls on your ProBook 440 G2 are controlled by a key combination fn+f9 (brightness down) and fn+f10 (brightness up).  Check the user document here - page 12 diagram.  There are no keyboard-based contrast controls.

Hello everyone, So i have a problem with my HP ProBook 4320s, it won't turn on. Here's whats happening when i try to turn it on. When i have the battery in without the recharger and i try to turn it on, the orange LED light for the recharger blinks 8 times and same when i have battery in with recharger plugged in. Note, the orange LED light should stay on when recharger is plugged in and it's recharging the laptop. Now, when i have the battery out and the recharge plugged. The orange LED light doesn't even turn on at all.  Now here's what i have done. I did a hard reset, which i unplugged the recharger and removed the battery from the laptop. I then held down the power button for 60 seconds and after that i plugged in the recharger without the battery and attempted to turn on the laptop. Nothing happens and the oranged LED light doesn't turn on. I then left the recharger plugged in and this time inserted the battery. The laptop still won't turn on but the orange LED light blinks 8 times. Now i've tried this with 2 different recharger and same result above. I can confirm that the 2 recharger is working because the 2 recharger works with my other HP laptop, meaning it was able to recharge my other HP laptop.  My other HP laptop also shares the same recharger as the HP ProBook 4320s by the way.  What i've also done is, i've opened the HP ProBook laptop, took out the RAM and reinserted the RAM and tried the above and same result. I have a new ProBook 4540s notebook that I shut down over the weekend. I am not sure if I put it into hibernate, sleep, or what as I am still getting use to it. When I tried to turn it on (not plugged in) I got nothing. So I plugged in the power cord and hit the power button again. All it did was the LED above the cord plug blinked about 8 times and nothing else. I let it "charge" overnight and tried again in the morning. Nothing but a blinking LED. I Googled the problem and it said to take the battery out, unplug, and hold the power button down for 20 seconds. I plugged it back in but left the battery out, and still the same thing - flashing LED. HELP! Thanks.

Alright so you've just upgraded to Windows 10 and suddenly every time you visit a new page your brightness starts going crazy randomly dimming and brightening. This is a pretty annoying feature. So you search and search for a solution but all you find is people telling you to change your settings in your advanced display to say off and it still doesn't work. This same thing has happened to me every time I've updated my laptop and I am now taking initiative to forever engrave the solution onto the face of the internet because I am so fed up with it.
Here is what you do:
1) Go to Settings and choose Display.
2) Scroll down and choose Advanced Display Settings.
3) Scroll to bottom and choose Display Adapter Properties.
4) Click on AMD Catalyst Control Center and proceed to open it.
5) Once opened click on PowerPlay beside the battery.
6) Towards bottom left of screen you should see a little checked box that says Enable VariBright.
7) Uncheck this stupid little box and don't forget to Apply.
8) Enjoy having the power to make things brighter/dimmer.

Last night I decided to let my game idle while I went to bed. As the computer is in my room and I didn't want the screen light to keep me up I decided to turn down the brightness. So I went to the right side windows 8 menu clicked on settings and pressed brightness. Now I accidentally turned it down to zero and I let my mouse go.

So now my screen is black. This wouldn't be a problem if the brightness buttons work but they don't (didn't install the boot camp drivers)
Is there any way I can recover this? Or would I have to reinstall my pc?

A:How to turn down brightness/contrast for windows 7?

Zukias welcome to the Seven Forums.

You can do it one of two ways. The first is Windows itself,

Display Color Calibration

The second is through the control panel for your graphics card which should be accessible by right clicking on the desktop. If it isn't there is should be in the Start menu, that or you don't have the driver installed and are running on the default driver installed by Windows.

Dear all,

As stated in subject, the laptop in question is a recent Skylake XPS 13 9350 FHD. This is a wonderful laptop with one major defect ("feature"): content adaptive brightness/contrast.
My main use-case is development under Linux, and it becomes very irritating when switching between dark terminals and bright websites, e.g. when reading documentation.
There are several other websites, forum threads etc., that already exist on this issue, with unsatisfactory answers.
Therefore I would like to ask here how to turn this "feature" off; an answer of "this is not possible" will not be accepted, as I am aware that this is possible in the worst case by updating the firmware (with success stories on the QHD models).

Many thanks!

Sorry, that is the answer you will get. Only the QHD models are fixable with a firmware update (provided from dell's download center). They have confirmed that the adaptive brightness on the FHD screens lacks this solution and from what i recall they are not actively working on trying to find a fix for the FHD as the adaptive brightness is "working as intended" at least.

the "problem" is auto change lcd backlight depends of content of screen

for example - when i set brightness level to 2 and read some newsites (white background, black text) - it's ok for me. then, i open another website with black background and yellow text - lcd backlight changing down so i have to manually change it up by Fn+F7 to level 3.
and so on - when i change tab in browser to "normal" website - white background/black text - backlight automatically going up (looks like sequentially growing up by 3-4 little steps) and i have to decrease it back to level 2.

i can see this "issue" both for toshiba display driver (download on support page) and for intel display driver.

how can i disable this feature? any idea?

Hi Everyone,

I have an HP 455 G1 laptop - HP's Small & Medium Business Online Store

This particular laptop ships with an automatic screen brightness control feature which relates directly to the area of 'white space' (e.g.: blank word document, control panel dialogs, etc) that is being displayed.

If there is a lot of 'white space' on the screen the display does dim. Conversely if there is a large area of 'black space', or darker colours then the screen automatically becomes brighter. I find this feature to be quite disconcerting, and I want to turn it off.

If you have never seen this feature before, or you doubt it's existence please do NOT bother to respond to this post.

I have purchased several laptops with this exact same model (about 5 to date) for the business I work for, and on one occasion I sent a laptop back to the shop because I was convinced that it was faulty. The shop simply 'turned off' or uninstalled the HP proprietary feature / software package and then sent the laptop back to me.

Since re-configuring the laptop that I sent back the shop can't remember how they performed the procedure. Rather than send the laptop back to the shop (due to time constraints) I would like to get this done by myself.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Davo

Hi there .. I have seen this feature before think it was on an Asus Laptop ... I have had a look on the HP Website and can not see any Software that relates to this issue .. It could be well hidden though maybe in the Tools .. I am pretty sure the Function Keys do not have control over that..Could there be a Setting in the BIOS to turn it off ? I suppose if it was Software related one way to get shot of it would be a Clean Install with out all the Bloatware ..

After updating to W10 insider fast ring build 14393.10 on my Lenovo G580 notebook, the Fn+Up brightness control key combination has stopped working. To check if Fn+Down was working, I pressed them and the brightness went down to "0" and now the screen is always black both while plugged-in and unplugged. Hence, I'm not able to increase the brightness anymore.
FYI, the "Up" arrow button works normally but the combination "Fn+Up" doesn't work while "Fn+Down" does.
Safe Mode doesn't allow adjustment of brightness since it cannot load the display driver.
I tried installing a third-party brightness control software while in Safe Mode but then realized it won't work until I log in to my account, in normal mode, which I cannot do since the brightness is at zero.
Please help me asap!
PS:- I have managed to increase the brightness for now but still the combination isn't working. Fn+Left arrow key combination also not working for volume down while Fn+Right arrow for volume up is working.

The function (FN) + F4, F5 (the keys to adjust the brightness settings) do nothing. The brightness status will show up on the screen and only change 1 or 2 notches.

I then realized I should have a way to adjust the brightness via the Power Settings in the Control Panel. I even confirmed this with a friend. I should have the sliders to adjust the brightness but I do not. It's very strange.

The only way I've gotten around it is to just restart my pc but it gets old restarting every time I'm closing out of the game. Is there a simple fix to this?

Hi, I am having some issues regarding my laptop's brightness. Firstly, when I turn my laptop on, the brightness is always on pitch black so I can't see the screen. I have been on to all the settings and put the brightness as max for both when it is plugged into power, and not. And yet each time I switch it on, the brightness isn't on and the screen is completely black. Secondly, my brightness buttons are the wrong way round, so the button I should press to reduce the brightness actually increases it, and the button I should press to increase the brightness actually decreases it.Again I have looked in the settings and can't find anything there to change them - I haven't downloaded or installed anything that should have changed them, I literally use the laptop for microsoft office and the internet.  Please help

HP Notebook - TOUCH, ENERGY STARModel #: 15-ac113clWindows 10, 64-bit As of the last couple of days, my laptop's brightness has seemingly been changing by itself. It's been increasing so much that it almost looks like it's in grayscale. The brightness fluctuates every 3-4 seconds or so, becoming extremely bright, and then slowly returning to normal. This happens both while the laptop is plugged in, and when it is not.  I have Googled this using every phrasing I could possibly think of, and have yet to find anyone else with my same problem. I have seen some forum posts about fluctuating brightness, but the responses all said to either disable Adaptive Brightness, or to disable Power Saving Technology in the Intel HD Graphics control panel. In my case, both of these settings were already disabled. I have downloaded both a new screen saver and a new Chrome extension in the last few days, and I removed them both, thinking that one of them HAD to be the cause of this problem - no such luck.  Some comments I've seen have suggested that it might be the battery. For context, I sent my laptop in for repair about 2 months ago and they replaced the battery, repaired the charging port, and sent a new charger cord. I've had no issues with any of the replacement parts. Also, I've done 2 battery tests in the last ~48 hours; the first said everything was fine, and the second said that the battery was functioning properly but needs to be calibrated, whi... Read more

Looks like you have done couple of troubleshooting so from my point of view:1. Ad-Hoc requires that you restart the session each time.

Connectify pro has an auto start option that does this but it's a paid version, connectify lite is free but I'm not sure if has auto start.

I have a bit of a strange issue with my computer. Forgive me if I'm a little too descriptive, but I'm not sure which details are relevant and which are not for such a problem. First, the specs:

Model: eMachines T2984
Operating System: Windows XP Service Pack 2
Processor: Intel Celeron D Processor 340, 2.93 GHZ, 256K L2 Cache, 533 MHZ FSB
Power Supply Unit: Bestec Model: ATX-250-12E REV: P7
Motherboard: I can't tell, but it appears to be an Intel motherboard by the number of Intel labels on it
RAM: 512 MB DDR SD originally, added 1 GB a couple of months ago
Let me know if you need anything else...

Yesterday, I got home from shopping around 1PM, and I tried to start the computer. I pushed the power button, and nothing happened. I checked all of the cords, and they were all plugged in. Not knowing what else to do, I opened up the case to see if there was something obviously wrong. The only thing that I noticed (other than a bunch of dust) was that the power supply unit was still hot. I shut the computer down about 5 hours earlier after about 20 minutes of use, so it seemed strange that the power supply was still hot. I unplugged the computer just in case there was some sort of fire hazard.

At this point, I called a friend who suggested that the problem might be with the motherboard or the power supply unit.

A few hours later, I plugged it back in to try to get it to work. As soon as I plugged it in, the entire unit suddenly started "running" by itsel... Read more

A:Computer Doesn't Turn on, Fans and Some Lights Turn on Automatically

I would suspect that the Power Supply Unit (PSU) is going south. If you have a spare one laying around, install it and see if the problem goes away.
You can buy a new, better PSU from Newegg for about $40.00. I have used a Thermaltake 430 watt in one of my machines for some time now and it works well.
You will have to check the size of your PSU to be sure a new one will fit into the eMachine.
Here's the page with that PSU on it. It's the last one on the list.

Hello Folks,

I'm not sure if my issue is with hardware (possibly MB?) or graphics card, so please forgive me if I've posted in the wrong section. The first problem I was having was random blue screens of death that displayed graphic card driver issues. I was able to remedy that by updating my graphic drivers and have not had an issue since.

However, ever since then I have been running into another hardware or graphics-related issue that is random and completely stumping me. What is happening is, I will be on my computer, leave and turn my monitor off, and (randomly) when I come back to use my computer again, when I turn on the monitor there is no signal and a black screen (e.g. when I turn my monitor on my desktop will pop up and the light on my monitor will turn blue, when it doesn't turn on there will be a black screen and the light on the monitor stays yellow as if it is idle). I have tried swapping out the monitor to see if that was the issue and the same problem persists, so it does not appear to be my monitor or VGA cables.

The only way I can temporarily fix this issue is to reboot/restart my computer and viola! The monitor works again and I can see everything. This issue is very random. Sometimes I can go weeks without an incident, other times this is happening a couple times a week. I honestly don't know if it's my motherboard or video card or what. My PC isn't overheating, I'm not overclocking, and all of my drivers are updated.

I'm not sure what... Read more

This is driving me crazy. My HP has Windows 7 and everytime it connects to the internet (wireless connection) Windows Live Messenger opens down in the left hand corner taskbar near the start menu. I close it, and fifteen minutes later it will open again.
I opened the options and unchecked the boxes pretaining to 'Run Windows Live Messenger when windows starts' but it still repeatedly opens. I use hotmail, but i really have no use for Messenger. The program is not listed under add/remove programs. Someone please help me turn this thing off.

A:Solved: Windows Live Messenger-TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF!

It should be listed in Programs & Features under Windows Live Messenger or Windows Live Essentials. If you still can't find it listed then go to get.live.com and re-download the installer, reinstall it, then uninstall it.

I just put together my first computer 6 months ago. It abruply shutdow in the middle of writing a paper for school. I couldn't turn it back on right away. after trying a few times, it turned on. All the fans are working even the fan on the power supply, the motherboards lights are on. My graphic card in on the motherboard. I think it might be my power supply because when I first put it together I didn't plug in the smaller power connection to the motherboard and the same thing is happening, black screen. It's like my computer isn't giving my monitor any feed. I will have more info when I get home. I can't get in to bios or safe mode.

Running Windows Vista Ultimate.

Display turns off after about fifteen minutes regardless of whether I am actively using the computer or not. The only way to turn the display back on is to close and then open the lid. This disconnets me from AOL, so I have to sign back on again, and if I was emailing, I might lose my current email.

Under Power Options, I have 'Turn off the display' set to Never for both On Battery and Plugged in. Under 'Put the computer to sleep' I have both On battery and Plugged in set to never. Nonetheless, the display still shuts off while I am working.

What do I need to do to prevent the display from turning off at odd intervals?

A:Vista Ultimate x64: turn off display, will not turn back on

sounds like your display drivers are crashing.

Do not rely on windows update drivers - go to graphics chipset manufacturer website and get latest drivers

I can't turn my computer on. The fans and lights turn on for a second and then turn off. a few seconds later they'll turn back on and then turn back off. I've had this computer for 4+ months now, i built it myself. it recently started doing this but i'd just turn off the PSU (Power Supply Unit) and turn it back on and it woould fix it. now it doesnt fix it anymore. i've re-slotted the RAM (Random Access Memory) and pushed it in firmly, but that hasn't done anything. i've tried different power outlets and pushed everything into the MOBO (Motherboard), i havent messed around with CPU (Processor) because that's just a pain in the a**... i was wondering if there was anything else i could do before having to take it into a local repair shop, lol.

as for my computer specs

CPU (Processor): Fx-6300 AMD
GPU: R9-270x AMD
RAM (Random Access Memory): 8GB Ballistix sport
MOBO (Motherboard): ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0
PSU (Power Supply Unit): Corsair X500 w 80+
Case: Rosewill GALAXY

thanks

A:Fans turn on, lights blink and then turn off/on repeatedly.

First, I would unplug everything that isn't necessary. Everything external except for the keyboard and monitor. Internally, just leave the CPU, RAM and video card installed. See if it turns on. If not, you might try and test the power button. Disconnect the power button from the mobo. If the pin headers allow for it, use the reset button as the power button. If not, you can use a flat head screwdriver to power on the computer (cross the two pins for the power button with the blade of the screwdriver). If you do this, just be very careful. Touch only the power button pins and nothing else! You could easily damage components by touching the screwdriver to the wrong thing.

Some motherboards have a power button right on the board that you can press to power on the computer. I looked at a pic of your board and didn't notice one.

If that doesn't do it, plug the power button back in. You might try and play around with the RAM. I don't know if you have 2 or 4 sticks of RAM, but try and boot the computer with only one stick of RAM at a time. If there's a bad stick, you'll find it through this process of elimination.

If none of the above works, then it might be a bad PSU.

I am using Windows 8.1 and had to refresh my computer as I was experiencing some problems. Everything seemed to be normal so I started slowly installing the programs I had before. Now a few days after, I find that my wireless device is Off and Flight Mode is On. I have been in settings but the relevant switches are disabled.
Can anybody tell me how to fix this please ? I really don't know how it happened. Can it be that my laptop is still infected ?

Thanks,

None of this works, then tried using an app to reset Security Settings and that didn't work either. Any suggestions on what I try next. I would like to reinstall Norton 360 Internet Security Version 5, I know there are those out there that hate Norton and the overhead that comes with it, but over the years I've gotten used to it and I like it very much. Install the AMD driver that is available at the HP Support portal. (If there is not one available, leave the driver installation as it is, unless you mind that it stops working.) It contains the AMD and Intel driver. Do not install the Intel driver seperately. If you do install it seperately, the switchable  grapgics function will no longer operate as expected.

Hi,I've twice had to exchange a Probook 450 G3, for additional reasons also (faulty power connector), so have had experience with 3 units altogether. All 3 had the same issue, the fan would kick in too often, a few instances a minute, making an up and down whirring sound which was very annoying and distracting. The strange thing is that the fan would kick in when the CPU usage was minimal, <5%, web browsing is the most taxing thing I do, no gaming or intense graphic applications.Never had an issue like this with any other laptop/computer, it's basically brand new so no possibility of dust, too hot environment etc. My 8 year old Dell laptop with much more inferior specs handles these activities easily with infrequent fan noise/activity.The laptop is not getting noticeably hot for the fan to turn on and off so often. Is the G3 so heat inefficient that the CPU gets too hot very easily, or is the fan's thermal sensor temp. range too low and the fan is kicking in unnecessarily? I've updated the BIOS and chipset and already contacted HP support who want me to send it to them, but I explained that this issue happened on all 3 units, revealing that the model design/components could be at fault.Would appreciate any insight/explanation for this.

Hi, I'm a field service tech with a frustrating problem.  HP Probook 640 G1, initial customer complaint was that the system will charge battery when turned OFF and plugged in, but system will not charge battery or use wall power when turned ON. Battery and power cable were replaced; no change.  Conclusion at that point was a problem existed between the power cord and power connector on the system board; thus the system board was replaced.  Since then, the laptop will not power up at all, on battery or when plugged into the wall.  Today I replaced the power button board, and got the same symptoms, but noticed that when I press the power button, the battery indicator LED blinks nine times and stops; nothing else happens.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to upgrade the Probook 440 G3 with a secondary storage a  2,5 500 GB SSD.In this notebook primary storage is a 256 GB SSD M.2.Is it possible the installation of both without removing the first  256 GB SSD M.2  (SSD M.2 Primary storage + SSD 2,5 Secondary storage)? If yes is it necessary to buy the Hard drive Hardware Kit (includes bracket and screws)? Thank you

A:Probook 440 G3 SSD Upgrade

See p. 35 of the Manual here: Service Manual There is a SATA hard drive bay and it looks like the SATA connectors on the drive plug directly into the motherboard. The M.2 slot is at right angles and above the hard drive bay so yes, you can have both a 2.5 inch SATA SSD and also the M.2 mSSD. You can just add in the 2.5 inch SATA SSD (or hard drive) and you really do need the hard drive mounting kit otherwise the hard drive will rattle around in the bay and that is not good for the laptop or the drive.  Hard Drive Hardware Kit, includes: 826382-001 http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?type=PROD&SearchText=T8Y22US When you install the SSD or HDD storage drive you will have to initialize and mount it (assign a drive letter) in disk management. Needing drivers for PCI Simple Communications Controller also have an Unknown Device in other devices in computer management.

A:HP Probook 650 G2 drivers

Hi: For the PCI Simple Communications Controller you need to install the Intel Management Engine Interface driver found under the chipset driver section. For the unknown device you probably have to install the 3D driveguard driver found under the storage driver section.

Hi, Got a Probook 470 G1 that doesn't want to power up. The small LED beside the power input socket is flashing constantly on and off (white). I've tried removing the battery and holding down the power key as recommended but to no avail. Also tried powering it up without the battery, but still only get the flashing white led. According to one forum, the flashing white led is a sign of a battery straight out of the factory that needs charged. The laptop was working fine until a couple of days ago.  I inadvertently left it on all day with a powerbank connected to the usb.  I'd thought it was my mobile phone that I'd plugged in. Is it possible that connecting the powerbank had damaged the battery? Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hey All, I'm looking to buy a new HP Probook 450 G3 model number T3L12UT, and from what I understand in addition to having a HDD included, there should be an empty m.2 slot for a solid state drive.  My plan is to keep the HDD and add an SSD, but I want to make sure that this specific model of the Probook has that empty m.2 slot.  I guess the easiest question would be, do all models of the Probook 450 G3 come with that extra m.2 slot? Thanks for your time Phil

A:probook 450 g3 empty ssd

Here is the link to the Service Manual. There are four models available in the USA.One service manual covers all four models. Page 47 shows removal/replacement procedure for M.2 SSD. Page 2 shows compatible drives: M.2 2280 SSD (NGFF), SATA-3 Supports the following drives: ? 256 GB TLC ? 128 GB TLC Set as primary storage if selected.  If you found my answer helpful please say thanks by clicking on the Thumb's Up icon.If my answer solved your problem please mark it as the Accepted Solution. I was trying to restore the factory settings to get rid of some unwanted software I couldn't delete. The recovery process kept failing. Now when I try to start the laptop it says there is no operating system installed. I want to download a recovery cd on my other laptop, write it to a cd/DVD disc, and restore the laptop from this recovery disk, can I download the files needed to do this anywhere. I will buy one if necessary but would obviously prefer a free version. The laptop is around 12 months old, may be just over, may be just under.

A:Can I get a recovery cd for the probook 455 g2

Shaunh84 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about needing recovery media and wanted to help. Sorry, there is nothing you can download and nothing available for free. Ordinarily, I would recommend using HP Recovery Media to restore your PC to its original condition. That would erase the entire drive, format the drive, and install the OS, the drivers, and the HP utilities. Unfortunately, there is no HP Recovery Media linked to the HP Product Page for your PC.  You can try contacting HP Customer Support directly, using the links below, to see if you can order if from them:If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.htmlSince HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, a couple of other sites you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/  and http://www.restoredisks.com/ Good LuckI am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.========================================================================If you feel my suggestions helped you, please click the Thumbs-Up symbol to say thanks! If they helped resolve your issue, please click "Accept As Solution" to help others find similar information.

I have 2 HP Probook 4545. We have a domain and shared folders on the server. When I try and add the default save location I get the message "unsupported file location" also I get the message that it needs to be indexed. Funny thing is it only happens with the HP 4545's. I can log on to any other laptop and they are good. I have tried the normal things like linking another folder and also the command mklink with the same results. Any ideas?

A:HP Probook 4545

smb985,

I would like to get some additional information about this if you don't mind.

What program are you trying to change the default save location in? Is this for My Documents, is it for Microsoft Word, is it for Microsoft Excel?

What is the exact error message you get when you try to add the default save location?

I had upgraded to Windows 10, that was a mistake in itself because of the mess with the DVD drive and other drivers.  In any event I attempted a full recovery and apparently the inage on the disk was corrupt.  Now I am left with an inoperable system.  Is there somewhere I can download the factory image from the website?  I cannot find the image.  Please help....

A:Probook 450 G1 Recovery

mjs0623 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! While Microsoft tells you that there is no risk in the Win10 Upgrade, because they let you believe that you can always revert back to your original OS and setup within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack function has proven to be unreliable -- and when it fails, it can leave machines in a corrupted state -- which doesn't always happen, but it does happen often enough to be a problem and you won't get any warning in advance that it is going to trash your PC!If that is not bad enough, the Win10 Upgrade is know, in some cases, to corrupt the Recovery partition stored there by the OEM that built the original machine. This pretty much guarantees that no HP Recovery is going to work: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Recovery-Manager-Blocked-After-Windo... Ordinarily, I would recommend using HP Recovery Media to restore your PC to its original condition. My employer and I are seeking a computer skin for the HP Probook 450 G3 that has large print labeling for the keyboard.  We know that most skins of this nature are designed for independent keyboards; but this is a case where the staff person  has a laptop and is also sight impaired.  We're not seeking large print stickers as others may use this laptop during and after the internship period. We're wondering if anyone might be able to help us.Peter KelleySt. Paul, MN USA

So yesterday I opened my Probook 4540s, and it was at 0% charge (The OS literaly displayed that), which was weird. I tried playing with it a little, I've connected it to a charger, and it did not detect it - and eventually the probook shut down.At this moment the laptop won't turn on, and my guess is it's either the power brick, or the motherboard. I tried replacing the power cable connected to the brick but it didn't quite help. When the power cord is connected to the laptop, the LED blinks each second, but its a weird blink, like not on\off, it's turning on, blinking, turning on, blinking etc, but the laptop isn't charged, it wont start with either the battery connected or without it. Tried hard resetting, didnt work either.Does that sound like more of a motherboard issue? If so, what could I do to fix it? Should it be expensive?

A:HP Probook won't start

When I say it did not detect the charger I mean it was simply not charging

Hello people, I have bought a HP ProBook 470 G3 and I am trying to insert a second hard disk into the notebook. The first drive is a SSD M2. I found out that there is no bracket inside the notebook, so I cannot secure the hard disk. I have found the HP 828147-001 HDD Hardware Kit, but then I get two different brackets. One with three screws and one with four screws. I need the one with four screws. I hope one of you can help me to find the right one what will fit in my notebook. BrokenWing PS: I am located in The Netherlands.
