Screen Swap from Yoga 2 Pro into Yoga 900?

Q: Screen Swap from Yoga 2 Pro into Yoga 900?

I've had a Yoga 2 Pro for two and a half years. I recently overheated it. I replaced it with a Yoga 900. After six days the screen cracked (working with Best Buy now to get an exchange but hopes are slim...). In the likely event that BB does not cooperate, is it possible to take the screen out of my Yoga 2 Pro and use it to replace the screen in the Yoga 900? Thanks for any insights.

Hey guys, I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 13 that I got without a hard drive. It has the special SFF-8784 SATA connector. I purchased an adapter to convert the SFF-8784 connector to mSATA, but the laptop would not recognize the drive. I could not even see it in the bios. Is it because the mSATA was not supported or was there another issue? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

Hello, There are 2 versions of the Yoga 2 11, a Baytrail and a Haswell one. I was wondering if aside from the motherboard they are the same device? I have the Baytrail version but would like to swap the motherboard over and they seem to be cheap on auction websites and would significantly improve performance. Is there any reason this is not possible? Thanks!

Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

Hey guys, I'm a PreMed student who's life revolves around his laptop. I'm always on social media, watching some show, listening to music, doing an essay, taking notes, updating some website, or emailing some person on campus. Of course, my old laptop broke. It was a Dell Inspiron. Now, I have a campus job and have been saving money(so money is not factor necessarily). After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

A:Surface Book vs Lenovo Yoga 900 vs ThinkPad X1 Yoga

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

After a clean install of Win 10 Home, I tried to reinstall the Yoga Mode Control driver from here: http://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/Yoga-Series/yoga-900-13isk2/80UE/005KC... The install ends without error, but does not confirm success either. The app does not appear to install.  This same thing happens with Lenovo Utility.

I have two staff members with different Yoga models, but with the same pen issue. Say, for instance, OneNote is open. The pen doesn't draw or write, but it can select and still be recognized. When I try using an old stylus from an HP Elitebook, it works TOTALLY fine - even the button on the pen functions properly. This suddenly started after months of the Lenovo pens working fine. I thought maybe it was a driver issue, but it can't be as the HP pen works.... I'm thinking it's the pen itself just getting worn down? It looks okay though but may be just a little loose... Any help / direction would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, we got 2x Try-and-Buy Lenovo Yoga Tablet Laptops (an X1 Yoga and a Yoga 260) to evaluate their suitability for our company, since we intend to upgrade several of our employees laptops. However, ever since we got the devices we noticed on both of them frequent issues with the display and waking from sleep. Very often the laptops won't wake up properly with the screen staying black. In those cases the display-backlight seems to turn on, and I assume the system is running somehow in the background. Putting the computer to sleep again (e.g. by closing the lid) makes the computer wake up properly on the second attempt. Different error in the same category is when a video is running and the laptop is connected to AC - plugging out the AC cord made the screen go black while the media content's sound kept playing. All drivers were updated to the newest version via Lenovo System Update 5.07.0029. Any ideas? I also tried to open a support ticket, but Lenovo wanted to send and install a new display (!). Apparently, that seems like a driver/software issue?! Best regards

So three weeks ago, I was working on my Yoga 3 14" and popped to get a drink, I came back and the screen was blank, I assumed it had gone to sleep, so hit a key to wake it up. Nothing! The laptop was plugged in, so I know it hadn't run out of charge. After sheer panic, I contacted Lenovo, who told me that my warranty was out by a month, and that I could send it to them to diagnose, and they would tell me how much to fix, then it was up to me if they did or not.One I wouldn't be happy about not having my laptop for a couple of weeks minimum, but also it had all my private information on.I turned to good old google, and stumbled across this forum, and somebody with the same problem.Their solution was to unscrew the back case of the laptop (as mentioned above, my warranty was already out), remove the battery cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery cable.I did this, and low and behold it worked. Fantastic!Only for it to happen twice more that week, and approx twice a week since. Then yesterday my brother contacts me saying his laptop has died, just won't turn on. His is the Yoga 2 Pro, I told him to bring it to mine, and I would try what I had to do to mine, to his, low and behold, the same solution worked. Seeing as I wasn't the first person to have this issue, and I'm guessing others have used the solution but not commented, this is obviously a fault with the Yoga range. I'm hoping that Lenovo can address this issue, as I fe... A:Difference between Yoga 900-13ISK and Yoga 900-13I...

Good day.

The major differences I see, looking at: http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo_Yoga_900_13_inch are: the SK2 has Intel Iris HD 540 graphics, slightly different CPUs and PCIe SSDs.

Regarding driver updates, there's a feature in Lenovo Companion that assists with that.

Hope this helps clarify.

My Yoga 2 Pro is black screening on start up. Running Windows 8.1. On startup, the keyboard lights up, switches off and nothing on the screen - not even the Lenovo logo. Have tried one key recovery, still nothing. Also tried an external monitor and nothing on that either. Strange thing is that this first happened yesterday, and after a few restarts it suddenly started working. Put my machine to sleep, then this morning, same problem! Please, please help if you can - my only machine and need it for work - I'll be in a bad way if I have to send it in for repair.

I have not scratched my Thinkpad X200T after six years of abuse, yet the Yoga 460 is already scratched less than a fortnight, the scratch is deep enough that it changes colour depends viewing angle.  What is the Yoga 460 screen made of? Freaken butter? There seem to be a protection layer (anti glare layer?), which is why is it easier to get scratched? Can I just replace this layer or will I have to replace the whole display?

Tried to do a bios update.  The 900 rebooted to run the update but the screen stayed black.  Subsequent boots are the same.  With the power or nova buttons pushed the keyboard lights briefly and the fans spin then stop then it just sits with the power button light on.  Black screen.  I checked the brightness and lcd on/off buttons. I opened the bottom and disconncted the battery and tried holding the power button for 60 sec then plugging in the AC adapter and hitting the power or nova buttons.  Also tried pusimg and holding the power button five times five seconds then plugging in AC.  No combo of button holding mojo has worked. Is there a way to reset the bios on this thing?

Hi everybody, I have an issue with my new ultrabook, and I just want to know if it is a failure or something manufactured (it sounds odd though, if it is).The very first hours of using the computer, I noticed the screen dims and lights back again. It's a at least 2 times per minute. It didn't happen when I watch stuff on youtube (or at least I didnt notice), but when the computer was working idle, or I was watching football, it was very noticable.I have recorded a minute of its perfomance, but it is too heavy to upload to show what I mean. Is this a problem? What could be the reson? I don't think they have light sensors to dim the screen in a bright room, do they?

Hey guys The screen of my Yoga 900 Screen has started to flicker, when I push the screen backwards. The screen turns black and there is a line on the screen for a slit second. It doesn't happen alsways and it's not always in the same position of the screen. Sometimes the screen turns back on as soon as I move the screen, sometimes it needs some more moving. I've conntected the laptop with an extended display, and it seems that only the screen of the laptop has this problem (no flickering on the second screen). Is there anything I can do or is it a warranty case? (It's a new laptop, I've bought it in December) Thanks for your help!

I have had my Yoga Pro 3 for four days and the screen cracked.  I did not drop it or damage it, it just happened upon opening.  Customer Service is less than helpful and kept telling me it was my fault. They said they will send a technician out for $169 plus the cost of the screen which they could not give me a price on.  They wanted my credit card number up front.  If I can find a way to return it, I will.I think it is sad that they will not stand behind their product.  I paid over $1600 for this, and for it to crack in four days is unacceptable.I will not be purchasing Lenovo prodcuts in the future.  Unacceptable and uncaring customer service.  It is as if they simply read from a script.

Hi Does anyone know what screen the Yoga 900S uses for its 1440p version and if it's any good? I'd like to know before placing an order. I looked at a Yoga 900 in the store and saw that despite its QHD+ resolution, it was using this horrible Pentile RGBW display that looks like there's dithering everywhere. It was the first time I've come across a display like that and it really looked horrible! I hope the 900S doesn't use that Pentile stuff? Thanks!

I ordered a Yoga 2 Pro direct from LENOVO very late December - delivered around January 1st.I didn't have the time to unpack and examine for about a week. I unpacked and first turn on the computer around January 7...and over the next few days spent just a brief amount of time setting it up, updating, etc. My time playing with the computer was brief...just 30-45 minutes every other day or so..nothing more than a general look and feel. I was impressed with the look and feel...the build quality and performance. Over the weekend things changed for the worse....I was working with the unit in my living room in the morning....closed the lid...placed in on the coffee table. Later in the afternoon - some 4-5 hours later....I sat down, picked up the Yoga 2 Pro, and in short order noticed a crack extending from top left - just at the end of the LENOVO name - down to the middle of the bottom. The Yoga 2 was treated with white glove delicacy the entire time since it left it's box. I currently have numerous laptops (including 2 LENOVO) and tablets...from APPLE, ACER, LENOVO, AMAZON, etc.I have never experienced anything like it. The ONLY ideas I can come up with fall into two categories: 1 - the design is inherently flawed.      There is noticeable flex in the unit - both the keyboard and screen - yes - it is minimal (I never twisted or stressed it in anyway beyond gentle normal operation.  Perhaps the glass can't handle... A:Yoga 2 Pro Cracked Screen and more....

Hi, I too have had the same problem. I had received my Lenovo Yoga 2 "Pro" today and when I first put it on my lap and opened it, I heard a crack. Oh what a traumatising sound it was. I investigated further and found that I had the same crack as yours. From the Lenovo sign all the way to the middle... I'm pretty sure the Yoga 2 "Pro" isn't so much of a Pro after all. The build quality is something out of a $500 laptop. The ridiculously thin glass and the bendy plastic isn't ideal at all, the Lenovo team clearly did not know how to design a laptop. I mean afterall, this is Lenovo "the king of laptops".  The reason why I am so offensive is because I had an unforgettable experience with my Surface 2 a couple of months ago. On the same day I received it the device crashed. I took it to a separate serviceman because Microsoft couldn't be bothered to have proper worldwide support. The Nvidia Tegra processor was faulty. You know, it always baffles me why Apple is considered the best. It's because it is, come to think of it. I have NEVER heard of a hardware issue out of ANY Apple device. The build quality on Apple devices is so professionally made, so professionally examined that it is completely out of Lenovo's league. No company can compete with Apple on build quality.  Apple are professional unlike Lenovo. Dan

Starting with the recent Intel 520 display driver update (version 2019.15.4444 and perhaps earlier), I am seeing a problem where disconnecting from teh OneLink+ dock will result on a black screen on the Yoga. Reconnecting it works fine again. A reboot is required (with dock disconnected) to have the laptop display work standalone. I also see random black screens when resuming from sleep. When this happens, I tend to see some popups with display driver failure. I don't know if this is related to the display driver plus running Win10 redstone 1 builds (Insider Fast ring) or if this happens on the shipping version of TH2. Anyone else experiencing this or have a workaround?

Always black screen... I have tried the recovery key method a couple of times without success. Nothing appears, black screen, always...I gently press all the touchs, like F12 or others... But nothing...Before this problem, I did nothing special. For some reason my screen on my laptop spontaneously flickers and basically looks like it's having a seizure. I've tried updating the display driver and updating the system and neither worked. I've also tried the solution that requires you to go to safe mode to disable "Windows error reporting" and "Problems Report and Solutions" and it still hasn't stopped flickering. I bought the laptop about a month ago and the flickering started about a week/week and a half ago. No other problems with the computer. I've tried updating all HID drivers through Device Manager with no success either. Any suggestions for what to check before we call it a hardware failure and try to either replace the screen or the laptop?

Been having the problem for a while now and its maybe getting slowly worse? Whenever i start up my computer (from sleep or...off), I have screen problems for about 10-20 minutes (depending on how long it was off for), then it goes away and I have no problems for the rest of the time i am using it. Until it turn it off, then the whole thing starts over again. Problems are as follows:-Pink or green tinted screen on start-up-ghost images (in pink or green)-fades to black/white/grey in a splotchy way that makes me think its a screen issue.-suddenly flashes back to pink/green, then starts fading back to black again. (Notes: I have tried a clean update of my graphics driver a few times. Bios is up to date and memtest freezes when i try it so I'm worried to attempt updating bios. I live in another country in a rural area and have no access to an hdmi cord to test the screen).  memory problem? screen problem? graphics card problem? driver problem? I dunno man, give me a direction. heres a clip of the weirdness:https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwYD77K7Aek5a0xYNHVFT1p4STg

I am having two issues with my Yoga 2 Pro: 1. The Webcam works intermittently. The device appears and disappears from the Device Manager listing. This problem has deteriorated to the point that the camera mostly doesn't work.2. The Screen goes black / flashes, then works correctly again. This happens much less than the camera issue, but I'm expecting it to become worse based on what has happened with the camera. I believe these issues are related - likely a loose connection or faulty cable. My machine is out of warranty. Is this a known issue that Lenovo will repair for free?

A:Yoga 2 Pro Webcam and Screen issues

Hi Pwillies,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

No, this not a known issue for any model.  To fix the flickering problem, you should first check the laptop cables for loose connections. You try updating BIOS.

If still issue persist, also there could be a chance where internal cables having loose connections. Hence I would suggest you to visit the nearest Lenovo service center for better assistance

Hope this helps.  Please let me know your findings.

Hey guys, I'm need to replace the entire top half of my yoga 2 pro. I broke the screen and digitizer and in the process of trying to see what peices I needed to replace I messed up the accompanying wires and such, anyone know if I can order a complete top half to replace it with? Or is buying a laptop with a dead mobo my best option.I might be able to scavenge some of the little boards around the screen, but I'd prefer (read as it would be much easier) for just a whole new top

I would tend to look on eBay for a lid assembly or a machine that had a trashed motherboard, like a coffee spill.

I have a Yoga 11e and recently installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise on the device.  After installation the touch screen was no longer functoning at all.  I have downloaded every Chipset, Mouse and Key Board, Software and Utility driver found on the Lenavo website.  When i go to the device manager under Human Interface Devices I have two yellow triangles for I2C Device and when I click on Proerties they both tell me " This device is currently waiting on another device or set of devices to start. (Code 51)". I have installed the GPIO drvier from the lenavo website as per other posting about non-functioning touch screens.  This has not repaired the problem.  I need some assistance or a driver for the touchscreen.

Hey everyone, So I've been able to correct most of the bugs on the Y2P since my switch to Win 10. My biggest lingering issue is the screen flashing when I take it on battery power. All of my drivers are up to date. I think that I've narrowed down the issue for any of you that may also be having this problem.  1. Windows 10 comes with a battery saver option, this is an option that works very well on its mobile devices. 2. Our Eneregy Manager hasn't been updated from .51 as of yet. 3. The EM is clashing with the Win 10 battery saver software.  This makes me think that the problem is compatibility between the OS and the EM software. I don't want to delete the EM because I use the Conservation Mode as my primary which has done wonders for my battery since I've had this ultrabook. I've disabled Battery Saver on Win 10 but the problem still occurs. Has anyone contacted Lenovo about this?  The second bug is with the new Win 10 touchpad driver available on Lenovo's site. It did fix the scrolling issue that wasn't happening after I upgraded but now on Chrome and Word it just starts zooming in with the scrolling action. Is there any way to report bugs like this to Lenovo and is anyone else having that issue?  Also the Graphics Driver on the Y2P downloads page is not the most current and neither is the Wifi driver. If anyone needs help upgrading those properly send me a message and I'll give you info on how to do it.

So were you able to fix the screen flicker issue?  I've tried updating about everything I can.  Drivers from both the Lenovo site and part manufacter's sites and nothing seems to help.  Definitely started for me after the Win10 upgrade and also when on battery.   Please help someone!

Good morning/afternoon to you all. First of, thanks a lot for letting me into the community. I hope we'll be able to exchange as often as possible. Well i'm a digital artist and i wanted to combine a professional laptop with some creative possibilities. So Yoga 260 seemed to be the best match (for its maneuvrability and integrated stylus)... to the point I saw the exact screen specifications... which are to be perfectly honest, pretty disappointing when it comes to refresh rate and Gamma/Adobe RGB range coverage. So i simply want to customize the hell of my future Yoga260 future acquisition, but I have 2 questions:Can any 12.5i multi-touch display do the trick, or must I get something compatible in any way.If I must get something compatible, which Full HD screen with better RGB ranges so i can do a better job ? Hello friends, I hope everyone is doing well. I need some help, please. I have a Lenovo Yoga 12, Machin type 20DL laptop, which is just about 8 months old. It however just went out of warranty, since the original purchase (brand new in box) was made just about 12 months ago, but I was gifted it for the holidays. When I turn it on, I am getting a blank screen, not even a mouse cursor. I have tried to attach it, via the mini HDMI to an external screen but nothing. The external screen goes into power saving mode, I guess because it is not getting transmission from the laptop? When I turn on the laptop, I get the red power light, and the keyboard back light comes on, and I can hear a sort of acceleration sound, maybe the fan coming on and off? But nothing else. I have tried pressing the various function keys, e.g. to project it on a screen, to open the BIOS, but I do not see anything. Does anyone have any suggestions please? I will really appreciate any help. Thank you very much,

Hi, I just received my Yoga and it looks and feels great. However, there seems to be some sort of foil over the screen, that doesn't quite cover the screen edge to edge. It stops around maybe 0.5mm from the end of the glass panel. It also appears to give the display some sorty of milky grey collor when turned off. I was wondering if this is part of the digitizer, a protective or anti-glare foil, or something else entirely? I first thought it was the kind of screen protector you see on phones when you first buy them, but there's no latch to take it of, and it seems to be glued to the display rather well. Can anyone enlighten me?

Current ThinkPad: S1 YogaFormer ThinkPads: T21, X30, SL300, T60p

A:ThinkPad Yoga screen foil?

it is a layer of pre-applied screen protector. It's for anti-glare and protective purpose. It's possible to remove it but requires patience and effort as its strongly glued to the screen during production. From what I understood any fault related with the removal of the screen protector is not covered by the warranty.

Hello everyone, I noticed that keyboard keys scratch the screen when NTB is closed and the NTB is on the move for example in my beg. My understanding is that some dust specs which end up on the keys while being used then get the screen scratched when NTB is closed. This is definitely a faulty design. The screen should be well seperated from the keyboard to prevent this. Just to make this clear, I am not speaking about some small dents but visible scratched smudges all over the screen which cannot be wiped off. I have started to use wax on the screen to firstly allow the stylus to move more smoothly and to give the screen more resistance. The stylus itself also made a couple of long scratches after about a month of use. I use the stylus a couple of hours a day as I am a teacher and use it as the main tool for my teaching - connected to a big screen through WIDI. As well I am exceptionally careful about the device and use a microfiber cloth to wipe the screen clean several times a week to minimize the number of dust specs on it. I also started to leave a small microfiber cloth on the keyboard when traveling with my NTB to prevent the screen from getting scratched any more. A little disapointment taking into account how much money it cost and what my expectations as for the durability were prior to the purchase. Well I guess I will later remove the foil on the display as some other users did when it the amount of scratches w... Hi Kaya,

Welcome to the Lenovo community!

This issue may occur due to several reasons. Let us start with opening Excel in safe mode. To do that, follow the steps below.

Hold the Windows key and press R, type excel /safe (note there is a space between excel and /).

If the application works fine safe mode, try disabling the add-ins for the application and check the result.
Click the File tab.
Go to Options.
Click Add-ins.
Clear all the options.
Hope this helps! Let us know how you get on.

I received my P40 Yoga 6 days ago, and i absolutly love this machine!!!however after spending the first few days updating and istalling all relevent apps for my work (Illusrtator-photographer), when i began drawing on photoshop i fliped into tablet mode and the screen autoroted... 15 minutes later the pen started acting up( cursor was not where it was supposed to be). I decided to restart just incase it was due to updates or any other reason. After restart touch screen was not working, pen worked but not very well. After 7 hours and trying to get the touch to work, and full factory reset still no change, same issue... eventually by luck did some fliping and rotatig, recalibrating and by luck touch screen worked again... this has happened 2 times now so i believe its some sort of issue with screen rotation or tablet mode issues. I hope its a fixable bug and not a hardware issue. This is an amazing machine which i want by my side at all times so please, please resolve this problemthanks

Under device manager there are a few exclamation points. Under Human Interface Devices there are 2 entries for I2C HID both have a warning. I tried to update them but it says they driver is update and the exclamation point remains. I too checked device manager and found there are 2 human interface device drivers with exclamation points, named I2c HID. A search found Intel device drivers on Lenovo support site and  I downloaded and installed the drivers (n15hc03w.exe). The status of the drivers on device manager did not change. I tried to update these drivers and pointed to the local folder drivers\win\I2C onbut got a message saying "drivers for device are up to date' . Tried 'scan for hardware' still no change to these Human Interface Device. Hi, I have recently (Dec 2015) purchased a Yoga 11e. The touch screen function has stopped working. Both Windows 10 and Lenovo Support apps say that all updates are in place. I suspect that a Windows update (~31 Jan 2016) might be the fault - could be wrong. Any ideas? Thanks. ps: I tad annoying the the "worlds biggest computer company" (or similar publicity claim) does not have a 24/7 web chat support function

A:Yoga 11e Touch Screen not working

I had the same problem.  After performing a clean-install of Windows 10 Pro (Did not like all that blotware that Lenovo puts in these systems) and "thinking" that I had installed all drivers, I found that touchscreen did not work.  I solved it by RE-installing the i2c drivers (downloaded from Yoga 11e support page).  It was confusing because there was nothing in Device Manager that indicated any drivers were missing, plus when I ran the .exe file for the i2c drivers all it did was "extract" the files, but it did not install anything! So here is how I went about it:  Opened device manager, clicked on "system devices" to locate the i2c device.  I looked for anything with "i2c" in it, and saw 2 entries: "Intel Atom Celeron Pentium Processor............i2c........[etc, etc]".  I went ahead and manually installed the drivers: right-clicked the item, clidked "update driver software", clidked "browse my computer for driver software", and navigated to where the driver files had been extracted to-as explained above.  After the drivers were installed successfully, the names of the devices changed to "i2c controller".  Rebooted the computer and VOILA! The touch screen worked again! Opened "control panel", "system" and there it said: "Touch Support With 10 Touch Points"

A:Lenovo yoga 2 screen not working

hi Gharri

Welcome to the Forums.

When you said  "the screen is on but only the mouse arrow is visable", do you mean the Touchscreen is not working?

If the touchscreen is not working, try the following steps:
1. Open system properties to determine if the OS is detecting the touch capability.
   - Link to picture (Touchscreen not working, proceed to Step 3)
   - Link to picture (Touchscreen is detected, proceed to Step 2)

2. Press the Windows key? +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. On the device manager, click view > show hidden devices and under Human Interface Devices section, uninstall the HID-compliant device touch screen (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen). When finished, reboot the system and observe.

3. Turn off the machine and press the OneKey Recovery button and select System Recovery. On the menu, try to touch an item but don't proceed in doing the system recovery -- this is to check if the digitizer (the hardware part that enables touchscreen functionality) is working.

If the Touchscreen is working, boot back into Windows and backup important files then prooceed with the System Recovery.

Hey guys, I purchased my Lenovo Yoga 710 15 inch laptop at the beginning of August and after a couple of days my screen went black and I couln't see my mouse or anything and the keyboard backlight was still on. I had to manually turn off the laptop by holding the power button. And since then it happens frequently. Sometimes I can go the whole day without it happening and days like today it will go black about 5-6 times a day. I contacted Lenovo technical support and the guy I was talking to said its not a hardware issue and maybe a softare issue. And I am getting sick and tired of this happening so often. I switched from a macbook to this and it feels like I made a huge mistake doing so. Nobody from Lenovo can tell me whats wrong with my laptop and I have updated all the drives and my computer is updated so I have no clue why it keeps doing it.  Can anyone please help me resolve this issue since no one from Lenovo can help me?

Hello people! Shortly what has happened and what has been done. Machine arrived, not our companys common brand. Anyway, Well first action was to install windows 10(1607) from USB stick. Win 10 Enterprise clean. And plan was after that update the drivers. Yes and all partitions were cleaned during the installation. So no going back with those.  After installing everyhing. Touch screen is not working. I went trough the one topic that is located here on the page. Found the wacom firmware update package and updated all that was inside the package. Did use lenovo system update tool for updating everything imaginable there was. Also bios was update. At one point when I did the wacom firmware updates the PEN actually worked. But at that time the touch with finger didn't work. Well at that point I did continue updating and removing of devices/drivers and reinstalling. Well in the end I was again on the same situation that nothing on the "touch" screen works. Has anyone else had these experiences? I have started thinking that maybe there is actually some real malfunction on the touch screen.Last thing I have done is I tried to install the first release of windows 10 from usb. This came to state where it asks for country localization information and when I continue from there it just reboots and takes my back to that screen. So I'm in loop with that. I also strated to think about ordering the recovery media for the machine...but it would take time to ... Read more

Hi,I have a 2nd generation Thinkpad Yoga 12.5 inch notebook. I have had this computer for about 18 months and the screen is completely ruined in many places. I have the matte screen and it appears that the pen has been scratching the soft matte finnish at many places. There are also big smudges from the keyboard that does not go away when I try to clean the screen. I am happy with this laptop overall, but I think it is terrible design to fail to make sure that the screen and keyboard is not touching when the lid is closed! Is it possible to fix these screen issues? Looking at the corner of the the screen, it looks like there is a screenprotector or similar on the device. Is this how Lenovo makes their matte screens? Just pasting a screen protector on top of a glossy screen? If so, would it be possible for me to remove it without damaging the actual screen and get rid of the scratches and smudges? Cheers Cheers

All, I've just moved from a Yoga S1 (12) to the Yoga 260.  It's great, but I have a very strange screen artifact.  The issue is, I can see veritcal lines that you can see on your screen whenever it has moved recently. For example, when just opening the lid, or when using it in a train or car.  These are most obvious when the display is cold. It's most obvious on blue. If for example I look "full screen" at this image:http://www.wsllpaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/blue-sky-and-mountains-hd-desktop-wallpaper.jpgjust after I open my computer from sleep, they are really visible. I can make them appear by vibrating my laptop like putting on my lap and bouncing my knee. Or by tapping the side of the display. It's easiest to see when the room lighting is dark and the laptop is set to maximum brightness. The lines are across the whole screen, and perhaps about 6 or 7 pixels apart. Each is vertical and spans the whole height of the screen from top to bottom. I think they are a real physical thing, not a display artifact - that is, I think they're wires or sensors or something for the new active pen or for the touchscreen. They seem to be harder to make visible when the laptop has been on for a long time, that is, after the screen has warmed up.  They're very, very easy to make appear when the display is cold and has just turned on. Does anyone have this issue as well?  Should I learn to love it, or send it back?  The laptop i... I'm not seeing it here on your test image. Could that be some kind of image retention? If you could capture a phone pic I can compare it with my 1-day old Yoga 260. If there are any other repro steps other than waking up from sleep please feel free to include that as well.

Hello! I bought a Yoga 2 11 this past week. Being a computer geek, I decided to do a clean install of windows on it immediately after setting it up. The install went fine, except the touch screen doesn't work anymore. I looked on Lenovo's website for drivers but found nothing. How can I fix this? Thanks!

Hey, I have a Yoga Pro 2.  After I upgraded to Windows 10, the screen will be fine for awhile, and then it will suddenly start flickering, turning black for a second or two, then the screen coming back on briefly, then back off, on and on for as long as 30 seconds.  I try to switch applications to see if I can kick it out of this mode, and maybe that works or maybe it just fixes itself eventually.  I have video of this happening, if anyone wants to see it. I took it to a Microsoft Store, and they were baffled, thinking it was graphics driver, but noticing that I had the most current graphics driver installed. What's up with this? Thanks, Eric

I've had no problems with my yoga 2 pro for over a month, but last night I decided to do windows updates.  This is the model with the i7, and 8gb of ram.  I let it update and then restarted it.  After it started up, I tried to swipe the cover screen up, but nothing was happening.  I then decided to use the mouse, and soon realized that the touch screen was unresponsive.  I've tried to restore the computer to before the updates, but it hasn't fixed the problem.  I can still switch to tablet and stand mode, etc. and the screen will rotate, but I can not get the touch screen to respond to anything.  I tried to install some drivers, but none of them are for the touch screen as far as I know, and nothing else seems to work.  Does anyone know a fix, or maybe know of a driver I need to install?
