Q: Lenovo Y700-15ISK, OSK black screen, 0xc0000225 W1...

Hello Guys i have a nice problem with my laptop (Almost 3 weeks old) I was eating my awesome lunch and when i came back the User interface was frozen and unresponsive, later on windows automatically gathered everything about the error and told me to reboot the computer. I rebooted my laptop and at some point of the boot it shows me "preparing automatic repairs", 20 seconds later it shows me the following picture;? Note: i had to crop the image because the forum only allows 2MB for the images I have tried the following options with the same resultI tried F8 Turned off the computer and then press the OneKey recovery system, so i can have a fresh start,1. The lenovo sign appears, and down the sign the circle that means "loading" appears going aroundSince it is a windows problem i went with microsoft, using this link Microsoft forum, But when the system was booting i had the same results (from 2 to 7)The result:2. Black screen but the lamp is on.3. waiting (3minutes)4. waiting (12 minutes)5. waiting (30 minutes plus a nice shower)6. I use the trackpad in order to see if there is any response from the computer. Nothing7. I touch the screen and then touch the trackpad, boom there is a mouse pointer. But still waiting. Basicly i tried almost anything but i still dont know what to do in order to solve the problem. It is an awesome laptop but this little deadlock doesnt help too much. Lenovo: anything that i can do in order to solve the problem?Community: did any of you had the same problem and solved? or even tell me your experience. Thank you all.Kindest regards.A nice frustrated customer, Douglas Leekam.

I recently bought this laptop and I have two problems:1. Especially when the screen is black, there is a green light on the upper part of the screen. I don't know what causes it maybe a led or something is installed badly (it's a 5 cm² area). Should I take it back and ask for a new one?2. This problem is related to scaling. When it is set to 100%, everything is small but crystal clear. When at 150%, everything looks normal but some apps like Steam, BitTorrent... are blurry like they were just zoomed on. Reinstalling windows and drivers should solve this? Simply reinstalling drivers didn't help. Thanks!

A:Lenovo Y700-15ISK screen issues

I don't know anything about your first problem (it may be a hardware problem), but I do know something about the second. Some programs (Steam, for example) aren't made for high-dpi screens. for these programs that appear blurry, right click on their icon (on the desktop), and click properties. Under the compatibility tab, check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". This should work after you restart the program.

Lenovo sent me another laptop, this one arrived 20 days ago and now has problem too. The machine was working fine, I restart it and the screen keep black, the keyboard was on but the screen doesn?t show anything. After 2 min and nothing, I shut it down and I realize that the laptop doesn?t display the Lenovo logo, doesn?t show anything again, the hard disk indicator is off, it doesn?t blink. I try to recovery the system using ?Lenovo OneKey Recovery System? or try to enter to the BIOS, but the Lenovo Novo Button only start the laptop, doesn?t show the menu. Yes, there is something wrong with this model. A lot of other people have had the same issue where the laptop will no longer boot after a long sleep or shutdown. There is a BIOS update that is being released sometime by the end of the month to fix this issue. I do not know if Lenovo has a USB flash function, but if they don't you should probably exchange for another or wait for the BIOS update, so that you can flash the new BIOS as soon as you get the replacement.

Hello All, I have several issues with my Y700-15ISK. I have the latest BIOS (CDCN35NWW or something from 2016/03/29) (in EUFI mode). The latest one, before all BIOS updates in connection with Y700 15ISKi disappeared from the Lenovo sites. I mostly use the latop with an external monitor via HDMI. Sometimes (I could not find a rule when) it starts to display red dots over the screen. If it is 3D graphics it moves along with the texture. You can see screenshots in the link below. The second problem is that the display goes black at random times and then it comes back after a 1-2 seconds. It is like when you change the resolution. The 3rd problem is when the BIOS is in EUFI mode sometimes I get a VGA error 43 in the Windows Device Manager. The system tells me that it had problems with the device and disabled it completely. The solution for this is to reset the BIOS back to factory defaults and reconfigure it to the desired state. This is jus ta workaround because this problem can occur also totally random. I've tested my external display with my other laptop Lenovo T440s with DisplayPort to HDMI converter and the same HDMI cable. Never experienced any problems. Tried Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 64 bit systems and all the Chipset, and VGA drivers which came out since then (provided by both Lenovo and Nvidia). Pictures of the screen:https://1drv.ms/f/s!AmvQYqr8ukT-gYg6a85wd6zmvNESxw Could you help me identify the core of the problem?  Tha... Hi, I've been experiencing this throttling issue for the past month now ( I've had this laptop since January). The fps drop from 170 to 60 for a couple of seconds and go back up to the initial value. I've had this issue a couple of times before but it would fix itself after restart (usually had it when I wake the laptop from sleep and immediately load CS:GO).  Now, I notice that this happens everytime I start playing and the temp goes above 69 degrees - I used to play with 170-200fps before with GPU temps surpassing 80 degrees with no fps drops at all.  This is really frustrating, especially when knowing that my brother has no FPS drops using my 5 year old Lenovo Y570 with  geforce GT 555m...Is there any way to fix this? I mean the gaming experience, as stated above was fine until a week ago, when I started getting these FPS drops, so that means that this issue can actually be fixed. Specs are Intel Core i7-6700HQGTX960M 4GB12 GB DDR4256GB SSD  ( CS:GO is on the SSD if that matters)I use Speedfan to check the temps. CS:GO is using the nvidia gpu, and the gpu is se to performance, power saving is disabled i am using balanced performance and set all advanced settings to maximum performance.

Hello, I recently bought a Lenovo Y700-15ISK with i5 6300HQ, Geforce GTX 960, 1 TB WD HDD (No SSD). I really like this laptop. But there are some serious issues that I don't know how to fix. First of all, I have installed Windows 10 Home edition. I disabled all the windows 10 problems, that were eating my memory, hdd. But I still find my computer quite slow when working... I expected it to be a beast. Actually it takes about 90 seconds to boot Windows 10. It's not normal... I saw worse laptops boot much faster... And the programs: When I double click My computer it takes like 3-4 seconds to open it. The second time I double click it it's much faster. Right click also lags. Opening chrome takes like 5 to 10 seconds. And when I install programs, install from ISO files, copy files I can't do anything else. The laptop lags a lot, sometimes freezes. But games like GTA, Fifa work fine - no lag in high graphics. I've done a lot of things, reinstalled the windows - nothing helps. Is this normal? Do I need a SSD for windows 10 or what?.... Or do I need to install windwos 10 as UEFI? But I read that there is not a big difference. The HDD has no errors, checked it many times, the transfer speeds are good. The next thing, I decided to go to Windows 7 64 bit on this notebook. The good old windows that I always liked. I installed it. And... I also have problems... Actually this windows works much faster, better. But I can't install the Audio device and Bluetooth (well bluetooth i... Read more

Hard Drive is not running, fans spins briefly (5-10 seconds), and the power button stays on. Is this motherboard failure? Thank in advance.

I recently bought a M.2 SSD and I want to use it as a cache drive. Intels RST requires AHCI mode, I was under the assumption that I was already in AHCI mode but my inability to create any raid volumes through the disk management or have my drives recognized by the RST app says otherwise. There is no option to change my mode from IDE to AHCI in BIOS due to it being locked. How can I work around this?

A:Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ISK how to put into AHCI

Look in the device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller, it should say Intel(R) 100 Series/C230 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller. For your second part of your question, you need at least 2 disk with unallocated areas to make a RAID array. But, saying that I would never setup a software RAID (ie windows) array and the BIOS doesnt support a hardware RAID

So I'm planning on buying this model: Lenovo Ideapad Y700-15ISK, but the one I'm looking to buy doesn't have an SSD and doesn't specify which ports are still available, only that it has a 1TB HDD. So I wanted to ask: 1. Does it have a free M.2 port? all models of the Y700-15ISK should have them, or am I wrong? 2. Which type of M.2 SSD does it support? M or B+M? I already sent the same questions to the retailer, but I am still waiting for an answer so thought I'd ask here as well.

Even did a factory reset, but same problem.

Anyone having similar problem and fixed it?
Read somewhere that it may have something to do with the Realtek HD audio software/driver??

Using external mouse for the most, but would be nice to have the option to use a functional touchpad from time to time.

If same issue continue to disable "allow hybrid sleep" either from same advance power settings or from cmd as administrator using powercfg -h off to disable hibernation if needed.

Just got this laptop 2 months ago via amazon. I am a DJ and use Serato DJ software. I have only played 1 party with the new laptop. I am running windows 7 and windows 10 (difference partitions) Today I decided to build the overviews of my music collection. The software uses all 8 cores (8 songs at a time) to build them. I had the laptop running for about 2 hours. Everything was running fine. I even have the laptop slightly elavated in the back to get extra air flow. All of sudden the laptop shut off. I noticed that the charge light on the front of the laptop was no longer while. Power brick was pretty hot which seems normal for the intense core usage. Called tech support and went through some tech support, have to call back since there database was down. I suspect something on the laptop motherboard or memory etc went toast. This is my first Lenovo laptop ever. I have been a Dell guy for over 10 years, never ever had any hardware issues in 4 other laptops.  What can I expect from Lenovo warranty service? Anyone have any other thoughts on what the heck could have happened. This is probably the most intense I have run the laptop. DJ with the software isn't as intense as building overviews. Think of it as rendering.

Hello there. I have a few questions regarding the recent release of BIOS update with version number CDCN37WW. Currently my BIOS is on version CDCN35WW. I was about to install it yesterday but did not because of several reasons. I read the instruction saying that I should put the BIOS settings at its default settings before installing the CDCN37WW update and there lies my problem. I bought the 15ISK version with 1TB HDD. A month ago I bought a 128GB SSD and did a clean install of Windows 10 on my new SSD. After booting into Windows 10 on my SSD in Legacy Mode, I format the partition in the 1TB HDD which houses my default installation of Windows 10 (the pre-installed Windows 10 by Lenovo). I did not completely wipe the HDD altogether and thus I still have the partitions created by Lenovo. The main issue that is stopping me from installing the update is my BIOS settiings. In BIOS boot submenu, I have it set to Legacy and then Legacy First so that it detects my SSD. UEFI does not detect my SSD. Default settings sets UEFI instead of Legacy. In conclusion, I cannot install the BIOS update even if I wanted to because I won't be able to boot into Windows 10 on my SSD once I change BIOS settings to default because UEFI (default settings is set to UEFI) does not detect my SSD. My questions are: -1. Does anyone have any solution or workaround to this problem ?2. Is it really compulsory to set the BIOS settings back default ? Or is it just a "... Read more

After that, I took a nap leaving my laptop still turned on. When I woke up, I saw it was 10% percent. Of course, like any normal person would do, I plugged in the charger. To my suprise, It suddenly turned off by itself right after I plugged in the charger to the wall socket. Thinking that It just got lowbat, it was all right for me. Or so I thought. After that, I noticed that there were no lights that indicate that it is charging in my laptop. Please help!!! It's been 3 or 4 days now and I still can't use it!!! It won't charge, it won't turn on because of the lowbat and I can't fix it.Any ideas?? (i have a background on Electronics Engineering if it matters) i did some analysis. 1. I'm pretty sure that the battery is okay, but of course it's lowbat cause it shutdown at 10%. 2. My charger is perfectly fine. (I tried it on another y700 at a store, also, my laptop does not charge with another y700 charger) 3. I do believe that it is in the hardware because, like I said, the light indicator shou... Hello, I have had my Y700 for 2 months. Right from the start I had the issue where it wouldn't seem to boot up, and I would have to put it to sleep a time or 2 before it would start windows. This problem seems to be solved. However, after installing the windows 10 anniversary update, the laptop will randomly 'freeze'. The keyboard will not respond, but I can still use the mouse. When I try to restart, the screen will go black, and it will not respond at all. I have to force shutdown with power button. After turning back on, it will work for 20-30 min and then do the same thing. I did a total reinstall of windows 10 and have updated bios to the 37, but it is doing the same thing.  Lenovo Solutions Center does not detect hardware issues. Can someone please help me? Thanks! Here are my specs:Y700-15ISK TouchBIOS: CDCN37WWRAM: 16GBHD: 256 SSD

Can you be a little clearer with your issue. From what I can gather, you're having problems with the brightness of your screen f right? Most issues like yours can be fixed/managed in settings menu. Go to display and find the brightness that suits you. Hope this helps. This is the best I could come up with based on how you asked your question.

Vsync option was on in the game as well as in the nVidia control panel. I've seen this line in more games, but in this one it always appears. When screenshot is taken, there is no line on it, so it's not badly drawn frame. Should I send it in for repairs under warranty? Thank you for any help.

I bought my Y700-15ISK on 24/06/16 and within an hour or so of use the screen went black and the computer didn't seem to respond to anything (except toggling the keyboard backlight with Fn-space). The computer itself did not shut down as indicated by the keyboard lights. This kept repeating itself several times at seemingly random intervals and the computer would only return to normal after a hard shut down by holding the power button and power back up again. I've seen several other complaints on the forums regarding this problem, one of which was tagged as solved and contained a broken link to Lenovo's solution. The following link was found elsewhere and seems to refer to the same problem: https://support.lenovo.com/il/en/documents/SF16-I0012 Though here the link for the BIOS update is broken (which is version 30 anyway, and the one on my computer is 34). Later I found a page on Lenovo's site cached by Google (original is dead) containing update 35 for this model's BIOS but it doesn't seem to install correctly and I still have version 34. I've also seen talk of update 35 causing trouble for other users. I've updated all relevant drivers as well and the computer is not heating up, running the fans loudly or acting strangely otherwise when this issue occurs. I have sent a message to Lenovo but will probably only get a response after the weekend. As far as I can piece together they might have released a bad update to counteract this and have taken it do... Read more

I doub't that it was me, who damaged a screen, because i'm really gentle, when using it.I bought a notebook at the beginning of this year. It is still on a warranty. I already tried send on a warranty to a serivce for repair ( i think, company is called MEDION (at least for lenovo devices bought in Poland), but they send it back, with a reason that "they couldn't achive same problem in their test enviroment" which is really strange, because problem appears everytime notebook is working. Any suggestion what i can do? Should i send it back again on the warranty, hoping that this time, they will be able to see a defect? What was the root cause of a problem? I don't won't to leave it like that, because notebook wasn't cheap, and except a screen issue, notebook is amazing. But it is really hard and annoying to use it like that.Attached screens, look at the bottom right corner. Orange shade is most intense in this place. Well first of I would run a disk check since it has been hanging,  Right click on Start, select Command Prompt (Admin) and in the command windows type: chkdsk /f   Press Enter and type Y to schedule the scan for the next boot, and then restart the system. Once that is complete I would check for an updated video driver at support.lenvo.com Does it only occur on a particular game, or just any game?    If just one game, have you checked the game boards for anyone else having that issue?       Also check to make sure your laptops vents are clear of dust, and use a Vacuum to clean them if needed.

Hi all
A couple of days ago I hit an error with a dual boot setup which existed for some months. The dual boot entry was missing and I could not repair/refresh/reset with any install disk. Chckdsk and sfc /scannow from the other partition and from the install disk repair command prompt did not help. The dual boot partition was locked. EasyBCD did not provide a solution either.
After a lot of searching I did come across this you-tube and it provided the solution.
To repeat :
Start-up with install disk and commence with "repair your computer" and follow to command prompt.

X:\sources> bootrec /scanos
X:\sources>bcdedit /export D(the failing partition): \BCDBKP01
X:\sources>ren D:\boot\hcd hcd2.old
X:\sources>bootrec /scanos
X:\sources>bootrec /rebuildbcd

I hope that showing/linking a solution here might be handy for someone in trouble.

Hey guys, I purchased my Lenovo Yoga 710 15 inch laptop at the beginning of August and after a couple of days my screen went black and I couln't see my mouse or anything and the keyboard backlight was still on. I had to manually turn off the laptop by holding the power button. And since then it happens frequently. Sometimes I can go the whole day without it happening and days like today it will go black about 5-6 times a day. I contacted Lenovo technical support and the guy I was talking to said its not a hardware issue and maybe a softare issue. And I am getting sick and tired of this happening so often. I switched from a macbook to this and it feels like I made a huge mistake doing so. Nobody from Lenovo can tell me whats wrong with my laptop and I have updated all the drives and my computer is updated so I have no clue why it keeps doing it.  Can anyone please help me resolve this issue since no one from Lenovo can help me?

Hi, I recently bought a Lenovo Y700-15ISK. I'm really satisfied with the product, until I started bringing it to school. Since the laptop is pretty heavy itself, I assume that it probably takes a lot of heat/pressure while walking around on campus. I bought this laptop at the end of March 2016 (still under 1-year warranty), and I didn't see this defect until school started in August. I noticed that the screen started developing yellow-ish tinted spots near the edges of the screen. So I did some research on the internet and found out that its a form of LED damage caused either by heat or pressure. The spots don't appear in the beginning of each usage but comes back once the laptop starts heating up. Whenever I massage the area, the spots seem to fade but only for a short amount of time. The yellow spots are particularly very noticeable in a black and white image as the yellow tint is the only source of color. I stopped bringing my laptop to school hoping the stains would go away to no avail. Questions: Is this a valid reason for me to use my warranty and return the product? If so... I bought this laptop brand new off Amazon. Would Lenovo's 1-year warranty still hold? How would the process work? (where to send, who to contact) If you've had this problem and know how to solve it feel free to tell me! Thanks

Hello guys. I have Lenovo Ideapad Y700-17isk and when i buy it i have lags: Screen flicking. after two months of agony I solved the problem in the following way: 1. Im download Intel HD Graphics BETA driver on Intel site.2. Unistall current version, reboot laptop.3. Turn my internet connection off.4. Install BETA version of Intel hd graphics driver.5. Now screen flicking is gone. I dont have any lenovo software on laptop when do this actions. in windows has disabled the automatic loading of drivers and software for the devices. Windows 10 have been downloaded and installed again. That is, at the time of the fix I was not factory Windows, preloaded with drivers and software from Lenovo. Do not install software from Lenovo as this too can cause flickering in the model. You can put only the necessary drivers for the chipset, Nvidia graphics card, touchpad, camera and also to update the BIOS, worse than this model of laptop data items do not. The fact that the problem is related to the function of power-saving integrated graphics card (1 watt savings lol). This function was why removed it out of the panel Intel HD GRAPHICS, but some utilities, Lenovo is present and it can cause flickering. peace <3

A:Protective screen-film on Lenovo Y700 17.3"?

Yes indeed there is an antiglare film attached to the display. You can remove it using a hairdryer, carefuly to heat it up and remove the film. There is a video on youtube doing that, but it needs attention as not to destroy the display. But if you remove it you are going to have at least 2 times more reflection on your screen

Hello,

I have a lenovo y700 on Windows 10 and when I put my laptop to sleep, I am able to turn it back on. But sometimes the screen stays black and the keyboard lights are on. Such that the computer did start up but the screen doesn't want to.

The only way I am able to fix this is buy putting the computer to sleep multiple times and then wake it up back again and after once or twice it starts to work. The solution (fool-proof) is to hold the power button to shut it down and then start it up again.

I bought this laptop a week ago and (yes) I updated all my drivers(including NVIDA GPU) and windows updates. I also don't have that many background apps running.

Here are my specs:

I would like to know if for the Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 Gaming Laptop, taking off the glossy screen protection (which makes the image blurry and shows the colours on the screen not really good) does void the warranty or not? This is quite a decisive factor for me, in comparison to the Dell Inspirion 7559, which doesn't have this issue, as only after taking off this screen protection, the screen actually becomes very nice. Here is a video, so you can understand what I'm referring to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4UatgJxohY Minute 4:40 - you can see how this guy takes the screen protection off.A short answer of yes, or no in regards to voiding the warranty by doing this, would be sufficient.Thank you

A:Lenovo y700 screen doesn't wake up from sleep

Hi bouga ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking on the support site for   Notebook IP Y700-15ISK I7 , seems no BIOS update needed for this model.
Typically even on Win Vista and Windows 7 that issue with sleep has been related to hybrid features.

Method 1 : You may try to disable it using the cmd elevated for the command  powercfg -h off .
Check on this video link for the guide steps

Method 2 : Setting Power option to High Performance instead of conservation mode . then manualy setting sleep on the start icon

Continue to apply neccessary updates that may correct this issue but for the time being , you can use Method 2 as alternate solution if method 1 fail to correct it.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Hello My lenovo y700 is brand new and it has been on really small usage (mainly weekends, when i travel) My problem is that on almost any game, there is this "line" going from top left corner to bottom right corner of the screen and it´s only visible when I move the camera. Things I have tried:I allways make sure that the latpot is using gtx 960m as GPU while playing.Enabling/disabling vertical sync and triple buffering, both from ingame-settings and from nvidia control panelLet Nvidia Experience optimize gamesettings Has anyone encountered this kind of issue and perfahp found a solution? Or do the ones, who are wiser than me, have some tip I could try? Or should I send it in for repairs under warrancy? Thanks.

Hello, my lenovo (5 months use) has this issue it doesn't turn on, only the led indicator of power and battery, it was after i uninstalled my internal graphics driver, but i think its like a statistic energy bug, because when i opened the pc, i disconnected the battery and pushed the power button several times and then put the AC power cable and then it turned on. But when i shut it down again have to do the same procces again and again until it turns on and it doesnt always work. The only way to keep my pc on is to put it in sleep mode, never turn it of completely. Can someone help me with this issue? Thanks!

Hi, I bought my Ideapad Y700 in December 2015, so it's half year old. Warranty is 2 years after entering S/N on Lenovo website. Please only reply to this if you are form Lenovo support. Question: Will opening back lid of the laptop to check for connection between screen and rest of the laptop void my warranty ? I suspect it's a cable that got lose, but I would like to be sure if it's worth even checking. Is it ok to open screws to have a look inside or will that void my warranty ? Additional information: Screen blinks even when booting, before operating system and also in BIOS. So it really looks like hardware problem.

Hi all ! I am new here so please be patient I just bought the new laptop (Lenovo y700) at the beginning of 2016s June and unfortunately have some problems with it. I run it about 3 times and see that the battery drown horribly fast - for web searching is around 1,5 - 2h (no cloud apps and heavy using). I know this laptop have really good battery, which should give us around 6-7h searching on web and 2h on really heavy using (you know - GAMING LAPTOP). Additionally sometimes my charger not charge after plug in. Sometimes is goes to 98% and that's over. Sometimes battery will charge to 100 %, then I turn off the laptop and plug off the charge - after turn on system shows 90% of battery (**bleep**?). The second thing is a screen - a little bit of bleeding just lead from the bottom of it. I don't think so that's normal. The last BONUS one. How I said the laptop is new and as a new I bought it. On this site lenovo said about guarantee to 27.02.2018 for me and not to 2.06.2018 how it should be. What's wrong? With this laptop Lenovo offers 2 years guarantee and I have the same on the bill from the shop - that's authorised Lenovo's shop. I really need your help and want to know if I can give this laptop to the service and guarantee is including my problem. Thanks in advance for your help. Greetings,DamienM

Hello,  I need to power my Y700 15ISK using DC Power.  I cannot find a Lenovo DC power supply so now I am looking for an DC AC inverter.  The AC power supply says 20V 6.75A. Has anyone used a 12V inverter with the Y700?  How do select one that will provide enough power?  Thanks

A:32 GB Ram on Ideapad Y700-15ISK ?

Hi basitj  ,

Greetings .

I was also waiting for other members to try going beyond 16 GB on this model.
So far,  was not able to get a verified working upgrade on this model most likely since it was just released in the market and that it is using DDR4 already.

Seen models that worked from beyond recommended RAM from OEM since memory controller of processor usually exceed whole system max ram. This is due to systemboard limitation and firmware identification set by OEM.

If you can have your company IT group test it or have computer shop to try going beyong 16 GBDDR4 then it's the only time we can decide .

Update us if possible , it would be a good reference for our community.

Regards

Just ran a calibration of the display using Calman RGB last night and have to say that I am a little disappointed.  The grayscale calibration worked well and I ended up with under .5% error but the color was way off out of the box and for some reason the Calman software could not make any significant improvement to the primary and seconday colors.  Initial color error was almost 9%... a very noticable flaw in color reproduction.  Calman did manage to improve other color points to get the overall color error to about 3% but, if just measuring the primaries and secondaries, the error appears to be in the 7% to 8% range. Curious if anyone else has tried calibrating their Y700 and managed to achieve better results ? Also curious what others think about the mod to remove the anti-glare film ?  I don't like it.  It actually creates a haze under direct sunlight.  And I wonder if the anti-glare film is messing with the color.

The antiglare really does impact clarity. I'm not sure if colors are affected by it, but reason seams to think yes to some extent.

Evening. I have purchased the Lenovo Y700-15ISK and having installed CS GO I am experiencing FPS spikes every 5-10 minutes of gameplay. At first I believed it was down to the GPU temperature reaching the throttle limit of 67 degrees but after further tests I have played for 1 hour+ and the temperature has not gone above 60 degrees. These spikes happen as soon as I enter the game even if the laptop has only just been turned on so I don't believe it is temperature related. I have the max processor state at 99% to eliminate turbo and it does not make any difference if I have the graphics settings on high or low. Any ideas or help would be appreciated as I seem to have hit a brick wall. Thanks in advance. Chris Keegan.

Hi, I live in Macedonia and I bought the laptop less than a month ago. Just now when I tried to turn it on, the power indicator turns on, the battery is being used but the hard drive light is not flashing at all and the monitor shows absolutely nothing, not even the logo. What the hell? I want my money back if it's already having problems!

A:Y700, Black Screen of Death

Hi, There's 4 lights at the front of the laptop, you should have the two left hand side lights on, power, and battery, these should be solid white, or the second light (battery) may be orange depending on the battery level. Have you tried Fn key + up arrow? I.e. make sure brightness is all the way up? If so try the opposite (Fn key + down arrow) because I have a laptop that Windows 10 install made the brightness levels reversed. If none of these work do you even get the Lenovo symbol during startup? If not and the laptop screen has never turned on then you have a dead unit and need to swap it our for a new one, contact the retailer for an RMA. CheersMatt

Y700 keep on getting BSOD & wont turn , screen stay black with backlight all on. sometime BSOD appear and the whole screen scramble, i must force shutdown in order to turn it back on. Tried updating all my driver to the lateest and my bios is ver.30>> tried almost everything, the only thing yet to try is reformat/reinstall window. this laptop is brought 3 months ago. not sure why's this happenening

A:y700 BSOD and BLACK SCREEN

I think the best course of action in this scenario is a system restore.

If you get a BSOD after that also, then it is a hardware failure and most probably the motherboard will have to be replaced under warranty.

Hello,I have a Y700 Touch-15ISK the Disk is frequently running at 100%, this causes the computer to freeze. I have tried instaling a fresh version of Win 10 x64 and the various "solutions" that search results have to offer. So far nothing, I have been at this for a few weeks, nothing seems to work.
