hi, I bought a HP Envy x360 laptop (m6-w103dx) in the US a couple of months ago and today it has just shut down (died) on me and I cannot boot it up. Power cable light is on, so has power, but nothing's happening.I plug in the charger and the orange light turns on and then when I click the power button it blinks white one time then it turns off right away.Any help would be appreciated... Thanks...

A:NEW HP Envy x360 Won't Turn On

If you leave the power adapter plugged in dose the led stay amber? That means it is charging. Your troubleshooting describes a notebook with too low of a battery charge to boot into Windows. Let it charge for an hour or so before trying to power it on.

My computer is less than a month old and it shut down on me. I have charged it and left it but when I press the power button the fan starts aND the caps key blinks but it doesn't turn on. Then is it stops and tries to turn on again. Nothing shows up on the screen at all. I don't think my hard drive is turning on. I have not dropped it, spilled anything on it, had it in heat or anything. I need this to be fix asap!

Hi ambowditch.  so, your notebook having issue with no display & caps lock is blink. caps lock blink is actually was an error which is notebook motherboard was try to tell to user.what u need to do is, try to count how many time caps lock is blink.  try do following troubleshooting first before u count the caps lock blink. 1. perform power cycle. remove battery & power adapter. then press & hold power button for 30 sec. then plug in power adapter only and power on the unit. make sure battery is not installed. if you lucky, may be the notebook will start with HP Logo and windows will load as usual. but if not, try to count how many time caps lock is blink. thanks. ghost. Please mark my post as SOLVED if it has resolved your problem. So the power button on my HP detached from the laptop. Long story short, I was boarding back home and hit a rock and fell forward therefore breaking the corner of the power button and shatter the touchscreen. I was still workin fine, except the fact that the screen was shattered and the power chip was dangling out of the laptop. It survived a few weeks before the power chip fell out. I couldnt find the time to go to a store to see what they could do. the only thing keeping it alive was the charging power but I fell asleep with the laptop on. Lucky me. The laptop was working perfectly. I've had it for some time right now. I have ALOT of important files and documents. I was wondering if there was a short-cut or a way I can get my Laptop on without using the power button. I just want to back-up everything i have in the laptop and make a desicion of getting a new one or fixing this one.

A few days ago I tried switching on my laptop but it didn't start up. The only light that showed was the led that showed it was charging when I plugged in the power cable (the led turned white when the battery was fully charged). When plugged in, the power-led near the power connector is white.  Pressing the power button results in a single blink on the power botton LED and a simultaneous blink on the CAPS Lock key.   (when power connector is plugged in or not) Attempts to reset i.e. hold down on the power buton, hold down on the power and mute button,  for 15 seconds etc.   have no effect. Any help would be appreciated.  This computer is 13 months old.

What's the difference between the HP Spectre x360 and the HP Envy x360? They both look the same. The only noticeable difference is that HP Spectre x360 has a Radiance Infinity display, while HP Envy x360 has an IPS display. Having the same specs, except for the display, why is the Spectre x360 more expensive than the Envy x360 ? Moreover, I thought that IPS is better than TN, which is my guess that is the technology used for the Radiance Infinity.

A:HP Spectre x360 vs HP Envy x360

Hi, You've got few questions about those products. Well, come to a store and yoy can see the differences. Better still, you can buty 2 machines and compare.  For build quality, the HP Spectre x360 is much better than the Envy x360 you can also find Pavilion x360 - we are talking about SPECS and BUILD here about plastics and metals about wood and gold. Regards.

Yeah, what it says in the title. I bought this computer in March 2011 and a year later I started having BSoD's. They're not that usual, maybe one per week if that and it's mostly MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I know I've had one PFN_LIST_CORRUPT too, but the process target seems to vary.

I am not an expert in dealing with minidumps, I never got the symbols correct so I used some web analyzer, but maybe you guys could take a look? Here are the tree latest ones:

062612-17440-01.dmp
062612-29343-01.dmp
070612-19578-01.dmp

I updated all the drivers I could find: chipset, USB, soundcard, Ethernet and graphics. The latest Nvidia driver seems unstable for me because of TDR's, which I'm thinking is a separate problem so I'm using 295.73.

My next step, I think, would be this Driver Verifier I've heard so much about or maybe Memtest86+ which I think I have lying around on a CD. I am running x64 and my specs should be visible.

Help a Swede out?

Edit: I missed the BSoD instructions. Here is my ZIP archive.

A:I've been having BSoD problems for a couple of months now...

have you installed service pack #1?

If yes, update your specs to reflect such and also tells us whether this a starter version, an ultimate version or just what.

If you have not install the service pack, then install the service pack.

Always install any and all updates offered by MS. This is Win 7 and not eXPired.

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

? OS: Windows 7 ? x86 (32-bit) ? I had Vista installed on an old HDD but that was over a year ago. ? It's an OEM version that came on a disc, got it through tigerdirect.
It's OEM but it WASN'T pre-installed. ? Computer is about 3 years old. ? I installed Windows 7 on a new HDD about a year ago. ? Q6600 ? 2x Geforce 9800's running in SLI ? 750W power supply.

2-3 months ago I started getting the wonderful BSOD.
I have been pushing it off to the side ever since, sometimes I've gotten BSOD's up to maybe..
10 times a day or so.. maybe even more.
Sometimes I'll go a day or two without one though.
I stopped keeping track of the codes I got months ago because I get a few.
0x00000007 is what it started out with. I've also gotten 0x0000000E 0x000000007E, 0x0000000A.
Started getting 0x0000000D or 0x0000000D1 lately too.
Number of 0's may vary on all those.. not really sure on the exacts.

Usually it's a random crash, I'll just be doing anything then bam, blue screen.
Sometimes though it'll happen when I open specific programs.
Right now, when I open Tor Browser it's an instant BSOD with 0x0000000D1.

I need help, badly!

A:BSOD problems for a couple of months..

All of them point one way or another to your drive controller drivers (Nforce). You'll want to update your chipset drivers for your mobo (or downgrade if need be) seeing as it's dated May 2009 (at least the drive controller is). You will also want to update your BIOS as well (v. 1.0.2; dated 03/04/2008). Both the drivers and BIOS you should obtain only from the Dell website.

Make sure your sata drive(s) are also set to DMA mode and not PIO. This can be done by going into device manager and right clicking the drive/sata controller (not the drive itself) and go to Properties. Under one of the tabs (Advanced?) should be an option to change the mode for each drive available.

The 5 most recent are caused by memory corruption (probably a driver-My bet is avg)

I notice your AVG which is often at least a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace your AVG with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Download tools and utilities | AVG Worldwide

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

These crashes were caused by memory corruption (probably a driver). Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!
1-Memtest.

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

My paypal account was hacked into a couple months ago. I woke up one morning before work, and discovered 4 emails form various venders, later discovered to be fraudulent, that purchases were made or ordered and to whom items sent or shipped to. This, of course is where my nightmare probably begain by unfortunately clicking on something in the email that began my infestation of various viruses, malware et al. Granted, thanks to the help of the Tech Specialist "Fireman", he helped me recently to resolve all my computer virus issues and now, thanks to him and Bleeping Computer, my computer has a clean bill of health.

Since the date that my computer was hacked, I was able to successfully resolve the issues with Paypal, my bank accounts and the unfortunate people involved who were also victimized as a result of this incident. Paypal has provided me with a Secret Decoder Key card to use which utilized several safety password features and precautions when logging onto their site when/ if I need to make an internet purchase. I have also opened a separate bank account just for the sole use of making internet purchases. When I get ready to make an internet payment, I simply transfer funds into that particular account and then utilize Paypal. I have been doing this on my other computer which was not violated because until just recently I had not felt safe doing this on the computer that was compromised.

Now that my computer is clean, firewalled, and active spyware is ... Read more

First, definitely delete any passwords to accounts that are stored on your computer. For many reasons, including malware, it is not safe to keep passwords in an easily retrievable environment, especially from the local keyboard.

Instead write the down or use a password storage program like http://keepass.info/.

You may also want to consider Keyscramber, which will encrypt all keyboard strokes so that if you are ever infected with a keylogger this information is just garbage text when sent to the remote attacker.

Hello,

I have been having issues with a custom built PC for some time now, and am hoping to find help here. I recently had to install a new motherboard, so the current OS age is much less than my hardware's age. I have installed all the up-to-date hardware drivers and only a couple of games. Here are the requested specs:

OS: Widows 7 64-bit OEM
System Age: between 1.5 - 2 years
OS age: 1 week

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k Sandy Bridge
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 (fermi)
Motherboard: ASRock B75 Pro3
Power Supply: Corsair TX750 (750 Watt)

I have Driver Verifier running at the moment, and have attached the output from the file collection app. Thank you for any help you can offer!

* Additional Note: I have been trying to identify the bad driver on my own using WinDBG in the Windows SDK. Every dump file I look at just lists an Unknown_Image as the probable cause. However, the system seems to run stable indefinitely unless I try to run a game. It loads my web browser just fine, downloads games just fine, streams video and plays music. As soon as (or shortly after) I run a game, the system BSoDs.

A:BSoD issues have been plaguing me for a couple months

I assume you reinstalled last week because of this issue?
If so it's probably not a software issue, seeing memory corruption and code corruption mentioned in the dumps tells me to test the ram first.

D/L Memtest+ burn it to a CD using a free program like Imgburn if you need one then boot from the CD to test the ram, let it run for at least 6 passes or until you see an error.

Hi dears,I've bought in my country (Italy) the Spectre x360 (2015 edition), model 4102nl, 8gb RAM, 256 SSD, i7, QHD display in september, so it's two months old.Since first day I've unboxed my Spectre, I've noticed what looks like a manufacturing defect, despite it's very tiny.My right hinge isn't aligned with the display lid, compared to left hinge and it sticks out from the lid less than 1mm. The left hinge doesn't sticks out.Furthermore, when I open the display lid sometimes (usually when I close the display totally) I can hear a very faint noise coming from the right hinge.Could this lead to breaking itself in the immediate future? Can this cause the display glass to break because of its misalignment?I'd like to avoid to send it to service because I need the laptop for work, only in the case it doesn't cause any problem in the future.I've attached some images examples and a video with the faint sound when opening it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2j6u3jpL6M left hinge from top  left hinge from side (the good one) right hinge (assumed to be defective) from the topright hinge (assumed to be defective) from the side. My HP SPECTRE X360 - 15-AP012DX is less then 3 months old and the screen or "Digitizer" mysteriously cracked just like many others on the board. I have no answers for how this happened. The ridiculous part of the equation is that the Laptop has never even left my desk 1 time in its short life.  I live alone as well so its not like it was touched by anyone, kids, dogs etc. I never even close the lid, it just sits there. I went through the Hp parts surfer and was told I need Part number: 841265-001 for $990.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The laptop can be purchased new for around that amount current... Out of total frustration, I disassembled the digitizer/ screen and LCD thinking that I could find replacement parts once I could learn the model numbers of the actual parts but I cannot find anyone that has anything for this machine. I have contacted 3 of the larger repair shops, Ebay, Amazon as well as searched every combination of model number possible, no luck. Now I have a laptop thats disassembled and merely worthless.....Im highly agitated with this entire process.  This was my first Hp product and it will be my last. I read so many threads and I the general consensus is that HP doesnt care about the end user. Its always deflection deflection deflection. I have owned 7 or 8 laptops since 2001 and never had a cracked screen. This is a "sub par" laptop that was not designed properly, end of story.  Does anyone know how to get parts for thi... I have been on these forums for help before, with the same blue screening computer. I still, and my manufacturing company, hasn't been able to find the problem and fix it for more than a few weeks/months. I have emails dating back to over a year ago, from Newegg, Cyberpower, tech support forums, trying to fix it. This computer has been nothing but hell.

Out of the box, new from newegg, the video card wasn't even in, and cords weren't hooked up. I hooked it up and such, and went to turn it on and the power supply didn't work. Got the computer exchanged for a new one right away (I wish I realized this is a very bad sign, and went with a different company other than Cyberpower) the exchange process took forever because newegg couldn't understand the issue, thought it was shipping problems, that made a video card fall out of it's slot. They didn't speak english well, so the tech support process took months and I was without a computer. This was a year ago when I first purchased it.

I finally got a working computer, and this thing is great when it runs right. Ultra settings in all games, I can run as many programs as I need. But then 6 months after I got it exchanged, it started running loud, my videos started being laggy, and it would shut down randomly. My laptop has been running fine, and I have not needed to use it for a while. Today, I needed it to multitask something along with my desktop, and when I opened it, I noticed a couple of things

1. I got a couple of notices from my hidden icons area, saying that my computer couldn't update or something like that.
2. My computer theme was auto switched to classic for some reason

So I wanted the original windows 7 theme back, so I tried to change to aero, and it doesn't work.

Then the computer system restore popped up in my hidden icons on the bottom right, so I immediately clicked system restore, but things only got worst

Here are a couple of pictures to the problem

The system was searching for updates, and this was the result
http://i.imgur.com/lig66fJ.jpg

I removed some unneeded programs and the interface was similar to the system restore interface, the back, next, and cancel buttons have no text on them, and it is just a blank layout
http://i.imgur.com/41LbKCK.jpg

These are the ONLY 3 themes I can choose from after the problem occured, no other themes exist for some reason
http://i.imgur.com/Ic0D48X.jpg

I also cannot seem to make another account, troubleshoot, etc. or the computer goes BSOD with win32.sys and page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

I have absolutely no idea what is happening.

My roommate bought his girlfriend a used laptop for Christmas and since he might as well be mildly retarded when it comes to doing anything on a computer without breaking it I offered to help him clean it up. The internal hdd has a capacity of ~500GB. After all of the previous users pictures/movies/music was removed I'm still only showing about 60% free space. I have a good feeling that the majority of the wasted space is from things like installed programs, application data, temporary files, and a complete mess of a registry. I've been advised on here before that registry cleaners aren't usually a good idea to run but i know whenever i'm finished uninstalling the 30-40 unnecessary programs I'm going to have a TON of useless files and registry entries. Are there any free programs that you could suggest to aid in repairing the unused files? Also the OS is Vista and ideally I'd like to have it as close to a fresh install as possible but the computer came with no disks and neither of us are willing to buy a new license for an operating system that has already been replaced.

Sorry for such a long explanation, any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

A:[SOLVED] Bought a used computer, need a couple simple suggestions

Does the laptop have a Recovery Partition? You may be able to do a Factory Recovery and restore the system to the way it was when it left the factory. That will also include the bloatware the Manufacturer included, but would be a fresher start than what you have now. You can check the User Guide, which you can probably find at the manufacturer's web site to see how to access it. Usually one of the Function keys you press at boot, may be listed on the screen. If it shipped with Vista, it may also be available on the Advanced Options Menu, aka Safe Mode Menu, by tapping F8 when booting.

You should also run a system info program to recover the product keys. Once you have the Product key, you can borrow a Vista disk to re-install with. Just has to match OEM to OEM, Retail to Retail. If Vista shipped with the laptop, it's probably an OEM Key.

The Key should also be on a label on the bottom of the laptop, though it may have come off by now.

I'd create a new User Account, then delete the old ones. That will also remove the application data and temp files from the user accounts.
Then manually delete the files in Windows\Temp.
If the previous owner was using the built-in Administrator account, you can log into that account and clear the Browser Cache and User temp files, or you can just delete the Users\Administrator folder. The system will create a new one the next time you log into the Administrator account. You can do the same with Users\Guest if it exists.

I just received an inexpensive ATX case for my daughter on newegg. It's nothing fancy, thus no thumb screws, documentation, etc....its nothing like my own Kingwin case. But its no big deal.

I did notice, when I installed the MoBo, the board seems to seat right on the case, to a point where it seems some the solder connections on the back of the MoBo are directly touching the chasis.

Is this a problem? In my Kingwin case, I have a removable motherboard tray and the board doesn't seat so close to the chasis. Do I need to place some rubber washers behind the Mobo? Or is it not a big deal.

Also, the case has an exhaust port on the side with a tube leading directly over the processor, but does not contain a fan. Although, it seems a fan can be installed there. Will it make a difference if I do or don't install a fan on the side vent.

Thanks in advance

2. Im typing, and sometimes the cursor or point to where im typing will jump back a few words. I have to manually click back and fix the errors - very annoying! Has happened about 5 times in 4 days. Whats up with that?

3. I dont know if Toshiba gipped me a bit on this machine, but I know the specs are suppose to be 40gig HD and 512 DDR ram, but when I went into my hardware profiles, it says its only 37.2GIG HD, and 448 DDR ram. Whats up with that? I know sometimes its not on the exact number, but cmon thats quite the difference.

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.  I switched from Apple to HP in January 2017, thinking it was a smart move as the laptop was half the price. 700 and 4 months later, the bottom casing has cracked and apparently my warrenty won't cover it.  The crack came as no fault of my own. I have not dropped it or mishandled it. It was a lot of money for me to spend and so I treated the product with the upmost care. Yet HP would like to charge me 137 to replace the casing. 137 for cheap, poor material that cracked within 4 months?  Upon buying this product I was told it was indestructible and wouldn't break easily. 4 MONTHS LATER???  This laptop is not worth it and HP are a terrible company.

I didn't realize that when I bought my HP Envy last winter (over $800) it didn't come with a DVD/CD player.   I assumed all laptops came with them. If I'd known it didn't, I wouldn't have bought the laptop.  Gaming and burning DVD's is a fun thing for me. How in the world can you download certain things to the laptop if there's no DVD/CD player??  I don't know a lot about computors but for me this is has been an epic disappointment... Hello,I'm having some trouble with my Envy x360 (m6-w103dx). I like it a lot so far and decided it needed a boost, so I took a Crucial BX100 250GB SSD I had and cloned the HDD that came with the laptop to the SSD. Immediately on boot the laptop says the drive's smart status has an issue/failing (which doesn't seem right, the other PC's I've been trying the SSD on aren't showing the same things, and just this morning the SSD was functioning perfectly fine as the boot drive of an older PC)After that the laptop would say "Boot device not found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk" (3F0).So I figured okay, maybe I botched cloning the HDD. I plugged the SSD back into my desktop and wiped it clean, and prepared a Windows 10 USB installer. While I was doing this, I also put the original HDD back in the laptop to make sure it was still functioning properly and the laptop booted up fine just like it used to.I put the wiped/cleaned SSD back into the laptop. I'm still getting the message about the drive's smart status on boot, and "Boot device not found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk" (3F0). So sounds like I just need to install windows...plugged in the Win 10 USB drive, and set bios to boot USB first. After that Windows 10 installer came up just like it normally does but there were no drives detected. I'm pretty stuck at this point. I've tried cloning, wiping the drive and initializing it as MBR, and again wiping it and trying... Read more

This looks like one or both of these may be the correct part. HP's Manual: Manual provides no part number for the digitizer and glass. I have a brand new Envy x360 that I've had about a week. The power will turn on but there is no display, no HDD activity and lights on the cap locks and mute will not turn on. I've tried a hard reboot, held the power button down for up to 30 seconds to shut it off. I've connected it to an external monitor via the hdmi port, and i've disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes, connected AC power. Still not display, no bios post and no HDD activity light. At this point I'm guessing the motherboard failed. Are there any other troubleshooting suggestions or should I return it to the store I got it at (Costco) for a replacement?

Laptop will randomly feeze to the point it becomes completely unresponsive and requires a hard reset.  This has happened consistently since I've had the laptop. In the last couple month the frequency has rapidly increased.  I have contacted HP Support numerous times and continue to get different answers and the run around each time. - All Windows and BIOS updates are ran- I did a clean reinstall of Windows based on recommendation from the chat session. Then I had one agent tell me it was probably malware and needed to send me a recovery disk, then the next person said it was a bad Microsoft update.  I've done everything asked and I still have a laptop that is constantly freezing, and this is becoming increasingly frustrating. I've noticed this seems to be a common issue with my model of laptop, and wondering if there is a fix for it. Please someone help me out here.

I was working as usual, and after lunch, I closed the laptop and took a nap. When I woke up I opened the laptop, pressed the "on" button and it didn't start.I continued to do so. Never started. When I press it three lights turn on: the "on" button itself; the caps lock (white light); and the light with discs (hdd?) which is orange. Those three lights turn on when I push the on button, and all of them beeps once.I searched this forums and everybody suggested hard reset. I can't do a hard reset on this one, the tutorials didnt work.I also called HP Support but they couldnt assist me because my warranty expired 5 days ago (so convenient)I didnt hit the computer or nothing. I have this HP ENVY x360 - 15-u111dx and I would like to add a SSD to this laptop for the OS to reside on.   According to the HP Support Assistant, it is a product number J9H90UA#ABA.HP Support page for this laptop provides me a link to this maintenance and service guide, http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04513489.  It seems to indicate that it does have the ability to take an SSD in the form factor of "M.2 2280-S3-B-M"  And in the product description, it says in the Internal Expansion section that it has this, "One 2280 M.2 daughter board - optional support for SSD"Used space on the C: drive is 90GB.  The D: (recovery) uses about 30GB.This leaves me with a few questions.1.  Can a SSD be added while keeping the factory 1TB drive installed?2.  Can I migrate the OS (and recovery partition) to that SSD, boot to that SSD, all the while not messing the up the ability to do a system restore/recovery of the OEM Windows 8.1 software provided by HP?I think step 2 will be the trickiest.  If someone knows of a free product to do this, I would welcome that recommendation.  I'll also take recommendations for paid software if no free exists.  Thanks. Edit:  Sorry, I also have a video problem, and must have had that on my mind when I sellected where to post this.  Could a mod move this to the correct forum please?

A:install win7 on envy x360?

Antarcticgecko Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! With notebooks, the primary problem with trying to run a different OS than the one preinstalled is the need for the specialized HP drivers for the specialized hardware that comes in the laptop.  Desktops don't present such difficulties because they tend to use more generic hardware and you can often swap out a piece of hardware if you need to.  Laptops don't provide that flexibility. If you will provide the detailed product number of your laptop, I can check to see if HP provides Win7 drivers for it:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001We can proceed once you provide the information. Thanks

So I've been researching for a few months now but have still to no avail found a viable solution/answer anywhere I looked. I have been looking for a stylus to use with my laptop which is a 2-in-1 so I figured it should be able to use one. But if possibly I would really love it to be pressure sensistive so I can draw in Photoshop with ease. It doesn't seem that any pen has been actually tested on this device though: all the Wacom ones haven't been tested, some say the HP Active Stylus may work but everyone commenting have the Hp Spectre so I would like to have a definitive answer if someone wouldn't mind helping.

I recently had to replace the power button board on my laptop after the original part broke. The last time my computer worked before the power button board broke, the battery was at 70% and afterwards I couldn't turn on my computer. Recently I received the replacement part and installed it into my computer. However when I try to turn on my computer it still does not work. When I plug in the adapter it does not turn on the nearby led and does not warm up at all. I tried to use only battery power however that does not work either. I have already looked through the guide (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00372748 )and nothing seems to be the problem. I have yet to replace the battery or adapter because I am unsure if those are the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings HP Fans. I purchased an HP Envy X360 about 8 months ago.  I've noticed over the past couple of months that the display will blink (flicker) off for a fraction of a second on a regular basis.  On average ever 20 - 30 secords.   I had read that it was a Google Chrome issue, but I've noticed it on everything, programs, apps, etc.  It happens in both regular and tablet mode. I've been searching the blogs, but I've not found anything that addresses this particular issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm very very unsatisfied, first an intel wireless network card that doesn't support adhoc by design, and second a hdd failure in less than 3 months with tons of important files and an ongoing project files just vanished with 2 weeks in hp maintenance, now after less than 2 days from normally using the laptop again after getting it from repair, another hdd failure, I mean what in God's sake is the problem, it's not a 100$ laptop, i bought it for 1200$ and can't make use of it for a straight month, I'm done with all hp related stuff, like for ever... Offcourse after it's serviced , forever. It won't get worst, not worst than that

I just received my HP ENVY X360 (T5K88AV). I ordered it with the HP Truevision IR HD camera, which according to the HP website, supports Windows Hello. However, I see no option under Settings > Accounts > Sign-In for it. I spent an hour with HP Support Chat and let him remote in to take a look. He said it looked like no IR camera was installed. We tried installing the driver for it with no success. Is there something I am missing? Is the HP IR camera known to work with Hello? Or is there something wrong with my hardware or drivers?

Hi, Please check the following article for other machines but same hardware for camera:     http://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c04531694 Regards.

I need help trying to find a stylus that would work for the HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible.   This was a recent purchase and I chose the 2 in 1 laptop for the versatility to use it as a teaching tool (writing notes in one note).  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I do not want the option of a rubber tip generic stylus but would prefer something that has more sensitivity and pressure as I also have a surface pro at school (the envy is my home computer).  Thanks!

Hi, I just received this HP ENVY 15-w000 x360 Convertible PC and I am trying to set up a new copy of Windows 10. I have a flashdrive that has been set up to boot with a copy of Windows 10 that I would like to install. The problem is that when I press Escape and choose booting, I don't find the USB drive at all - the options remain the same where the flashdrive is plugged or not. Please advise. Thanks,Al

Hi, Please use a fresh or empty flash drive, not a bootable drive. Regards.

Hello, I recently received the HP Envy x360 and was hoping it could replace by HP Touchsmart Tm2. My Touchsmart came with its own stylus, and it was pressure sensitive and great for drawing. I want to be able to have the same thing for my HP Envy. I went to Best Buy to try out the HP Active Stylus, but frankly is sucked. There was no pressure sensitivity at all. Do you know if there are any pressure sensitive styli that will work for my laptop? Or will HP be releasing one soon? I love my Touchsmart, but it doesn't seem they will be coming out with new models of that anytime soon... :\ I don't want to go through the hassle of returning the Envy, but if I can't do art with it then I have no use for a touchscreen laptop.  Please help!

Hello there,I personally haven't used a stylus on my laptop before, but the HP online store has a variety for you to choose from. With just the search of "stylus", I was able to find 10 pens, that will hopefully suit your needs. http://m.store.hp.com/us/en/SearchDisplay?searchTerm=stylus&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&...Best regards,Shawn
