Why doesn't my Touch work after replacing the screen on my Yoga 2 Pro?

Q: Why doesn't my Touch work after replacing the screen on my Yoga 2 Pro?

Screen was cracked so I replaced the screen. Now touch doesn't work.
There is no "Pen and Touch" and "Tablet PC Settings" in Control Panel. In PC info it says, "No pen or touch input is available for this display."
Touch DOES work on LINUX as I ran it from a usb drive, so it is not a hardware problem.
I have reinstalled Windows.
I have another Yoga 2 Pro and comparing Device Manager in both I see no differences.
How can I get the touch to work again?

A: Why doesn't my Touch work after replacing the screen on my Yoga 2 Pro?

try refreshing your PC maybe the driver is not working properly
If the touchscreen does show up on the device manager try updating the driver from there. (it will be listed under HID )
Otherwise To refresh your PC Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)Tap or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click Recovery.Under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, tap or click Get started.Follow the instructions on the screen.

The touchscreen on my Yoga 260 isin't working. I first noticed this problem when the screen was acting wierdly. When you tap on your yoga a light circle appears and fades over time to mark or show where you tapped and when you swipe a trail or tail appears behind of where you swiped then disappears over time. So when I opened my Yoga these taps and swipes were appearing all over the screen ramdomly in a very rapid pace. So I restarted my Yoga and saw that the swipes and taps were still there. So I chose to restart the Yoga again and the taps and swipes dissapered. After that I noticed that the touchscreen became unresponsive but the computer runs as normal butthe screen is unresponsive. Before I discovered the problem I could remember dropped the computer a small height but caught it. If there's a solution to this problem I'm happy to listen! Thanks.

Hi Guys...I'm using the Lenovo multi touch driver for my X61T. With Windows 7 build 7000 the same driver when I wake my laptop from sleep the touch screen works. Starting with build 704x (i can't remember the exact build but it was the first leaked x64 build) when I wake the machine from sleep the touch screen doesn't work (both pen and finger touch)

I have tried to change USB settings but I haven't seen any fix. A restart of the machine means the tablet works again. Any ideas about a patch until Lenovo makes new drivers for Windows 7?

A:Touch Screen doesn't work out of sleep

There is a registry patch for better USB connectivity after waking from sleep, available from Lenovo.

Lenovo Support & downloads - Registry patch to improve USB device detection on resume from sleep for Windows Vista - Notebooks

How's the touchscreen working for you? Hope it's great! I don't like touchscreens because the screen can heat up and flicking your finger around on it can really burn.

I bought a windows 8 hp pavilion touchsmart and touch screen worked. I updated to Windows 10 and it worked, only after I did a factory restore did it not work. I've tried everything with the device driver and another factory restore and it still does not work. I sent my computer in to get it fixed while it was under warranty and it was still not fixed. I resigned to it not working and I think that hp should have solved this problem before selling its computers. So we are blaming it on Microsoft 10, but that is not the issue when it worked until I did a factory restore and attempted everything suggested. I have a 350 dollar piece of **bleep**. Plus now my Mic isn't working and there aren't any drivers for me to upgrade to, anywhere.

I have the issue that the touch screen + front camera + back camera + windows button on the screen are not working.

I tried installing the display/graphics drivers but that did not helped.

I bought this laptop from Saudi Arabia and it is still under warranty but I am out of country so i cant claim the warranty as well.

someone please sort out this issue and tell me the solution or tell me what i should do?

Help will be really appreciated.

Thanks,

A:Satellite U920T - front/back cam + touch screen + win button doesn't work

Since you mentioned different issues with your notebook, I think that in this case its advisable to recover the notebook back to factory settings just to check if all these problems are related to system problem.

Regarding the webcam: the Windows 8 /8.1 already contains the webcam drivers and therefore additional webcam driver installation isn?t possible. Additional webcam driver does not exist simply.

From my point of few the whole description smells a little bit like a hardware problem of the upper slide part where the touchscreen is part of.
The win button as well as the both cams are located there and probably there is some lose connection between the two parts (touchscreen and keyboard)

Anyway, as I said above, its advisable to recover the notebook to factory settings just to ensure that the system isn?t the troublemaker.
In case of hardware problems, you would need to get in contact with service available in your country.

Hello, My Thinkpad Yoga is connected to a large display through ThenkPad docking station.  Its lid is closed.   During my work, from time to time I see random touch clicks on my screen, and random opening of menus.  It is clear that the touch screen is active although the lid is closed.  When I open the lid, and still connected just to the 2nd display (large screen) display the phenomena stops.  Worth noting is that although only the 2nd display shows an image, the laptop touch screen is still sensetive to touch.  This is I guess why the random touches show up on the screen -- it feels the keyboard not fingers. I expect the touch screen to be disabled while the lid is closed or when projecting only to the 2nd screen.  The solution of opening the lid while connected to the docking station is not acceptable.  Lenovo's local support suggestion to disable touch for the Yoga is also not acceptable -- people purchase Yoga to get Touch.   A solution please! Yaron

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40°. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. I had no luck trying driver versions 7.3.3.12, 7.3.4.8 and 7.3.4.13. I would really appreciate your help since this issue makes working in the tablet position... Read more

Help! I bought a gateway touch screen computer for my daughter a month ago, for 563 at best buy. Our cats knocked it off the desk and broke the screen so I called geek squad and they said it costs 800 to fix it! This can't be right! He said the screen was around 600 and the rest was labor. How could they have sold it for 563 if the screen alone costs 600? I watch shark tank and know that normally things sell for at least twice what it costs to make so that can't be right. And who would ever wanna buy one knowing this? My question is ---- does anyone know where I can get this repaired for less? There must be someone out there somewhere that can do it for 2 or 3 hundred. I can't buy a brand new one, I don't have that much money. Please help.

Hi, I have recently (Dec 2015) purchased a Yoga 11e. The touch screen function has stopped working. Both Windows 10 and Lenovo Support apps say that all updates are in place. I suspect that a Windows update (~31 Jan 2016) might be the fault - could be wrong. Any ideas? Thanks. ps: I tad annoying the the "worlds biggest computer company" (or similar publicity claim) does not have a 24/7 web chat support function

A:Yoga 11e Touch Screen not working

I had the same problem.  After performing a clean-install of Windows 10 Pro (Did not like all that blotware that Lenovo puts in these systems) and "thinking" that I had installed all drivers, I found that touchscreen did not work.  I solved it by RE-installing the i2c drivers (downloaded from Yoga 11e support page).  It was confusing because there was nothing in Device Manager that indicated any drivers were missing, plus when I ran the .exe file for the i2c drivers all it did was "extract" the files, but it did not install anything! So here is how I went about it:  Opened device manager, clicked on "system devices" to locate the i2c device.  I looked for anything with "i2c" in it, and saw 2 entries: "Intel Atom Celeron Pentium Processor............i2c........[etc, etc]".  I went ahead and manually installed the drivers: right-clicked the item, clidked "update driver software", clidked "browse my computer for driver software", and navigated to where the driver files had been extracted to-as explained above.  After the drivers were installed successfully, the names of the devices changed to "i2c controller".  Rebooted the computer and VOILA! The touch screen worked again! Opened "control panel", "system" and there it said: "Touch Support With 10 Touch Points"

I've had no problems with my yoga 2 pro for over a month, but last night I decided to do windows updates.  This is the model with the i7, and 8gb of ram.  I let it update and then restarted it.  After it started up, I tried to swipe the cover screen up, but nothing was happening.  I then decided to use the mouse, and soon realized that the touch screen was unresponsive.  I've tried to restore the computer to before the updates, but it hasn't fixed the problem.  I can still switch to tablet and stand mode, etc. and the screen will rotate, but I can not get the touch screen to respond to anything.  I tried to install some drivers, but none of them are for the touch screen as far as I know, and nothing else seems to work.  Does anyone know a fix, or maybe know of a driver I need to install?

I have installed the GPIO drvier from the lenavo website as per other posting about non-functioning touch screens.  This has not repaired the problem.  I need some assistance or a driver for the touchscreen.

None appear to be a solution.I can provoke the unresponsive ness by opening Facebook in Edge, but it has also happened on other webpages and also when using Spotify.Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello people! Shortly what has happened and what has been done. Machine arrived, not our companys common brand. Anyway, Well first action was to install windows 10(1607) from USB stick. Win 10 Enterprise clean. And plan was after that update the drivers. Yes and all partitions were cleaned during the installation. So no going back with those.  After installing everyhing. Touch screen is not working. I went trough the one topic that is located here on the page. Found the wacom firmware update package and updated all that was inside the package. Did use lenovo system update tool for updating everything imaginable there was. Also bios was update. At one point when I did the wacom firmware updates the PEN actually worked. But at that time the touch with finger didn't work. Well at that point I did continue updating and removing of devices/drivers and reinstalling. Well in the end I was again on the same situation that nothing on the "touch" screen works. Has anyone else had these experiences? I have started thinking that maybe there is actually some real malfunction on the touch screen.Last thing I have done is I tried to install the first release of windows 10 from usb. This came to state where it asks for country localization information and when I continue from there it just reboots and takes my back to that screen. So I'm in loop with that. I also strated to think about ordering the recovery media for the machine...but it would take time to ... Read more

I have started using the touchscreen on this new Yoga 700 and I liked it at first, but I noticed that while scrolling, pages often open by accident...and it happens often. It ruins the experience.   How do I make it less sensitive? Should only open when i push , not swipe. I want to roll through the page and only select and open things i want to be opened.  Also, is there a way to not show the pointer finger icon? I dont really want to see that.

It's weird that in the page, it is too sensitive, but when i switch tabs up top, i have to push harder to activate that and sometimes it doesnt work on first tap. Must need to change settings or something. Where do i go to tweak those settings?

A:Yoga 700 - Touch screen - a bit too sensitive

Hi GM,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.
You can adjust the touchpad sensitivity using the following steps:

Press Windows Key + X
Select Control Panel
Click View by, then select Small icons
Select Mouse, then click the furthest tab on the right (should be labelled Elan or Device Settings)
You should have an option to adjust sensitivity in this menu.

I hope this information is helpful.

Hello, I recently upgraded the mechanical hard drive that came with my Yoga 11E to an ssd. I ran Lenovo system update and then Windows Update. But the touchscreen is not working. Under device manager there are a few exclamation points. Under Human Interface Devices there are 2 entries for I2C HID both have a warning. I tried to update them but it says they driver is update and the exclamation point remains. I am not sure if this is the reason why my touch screen is not working but any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I am having the same problem. After reimaging, touch screen is not responding. I too checked device manager and found there are 2 human interface device drivers with exclamation points, named I2c HID. A search found Intel device drivers on Lenovo support site and  I downloaded and installed the drivers (n15hc03w.exe). The status of the drivers on device manager did not change. I tried to update these drivers and pointed to the local folder drivers\win\I2C onbut got a message saying "drivers for device are up to date' . Tried 'scan for hardware' still no change to these Human Interface Device. Hi,So, this just started happening on my 3 month old YOGA 500 - The touch screen stops working every couple of hours. Each time it stops i go to the Device Manager, and under Human Interface Devices i can't find either HID-compliant touch screen or USB input device. The problem resolves each time after a hard reset (and the devices appear in the device manager), then reappears after 2-3 hours. The system is: Lenovo Yoga 500 14ISK, Windows 10 1511 build 10586.164Any idea what's going on?Thanks,Vlad.

A:Lenovo yoga 500 - touch screen keeps disappearing ...

Hey there, I have a 2 month old Yoga 500-14ISK and I had the same issue. The temporary wokaround for me was to search in device manager under "USB controllers" and when the touchscreen died there would be a USB device with "Device Descriptor Failed" next to it in the USB section. Disabling that device and then re-enabling it would make the touchscreen work again. To completely fix the issue, I had to use a factory reset with the Novo button (pinhole next to the power button) and since then despite wiping the OS of my settings and apps, now I've updated all drivers and such again and I've had no further problems with the touchscreen.

Hi,I seem to be having a few rcent issues with the touchscreen response on my Yoga 11S. Seemed to make through the Windows 8.1 update last year without many issues.  1) Touchscreen only works when it's folded less than 90deg from the keyboard. If I fold it back or in to Tent or Tablet mode, the touchscreen is not responsive at all. Seems like this is a sensor/transition issue of some sort? If I touch the screen while folding the screen back and forth, I can see the transition when it stops responding to touch.  2) When folded, any touch to the screen results in a single touch input in the center-right of screen. I see the circular touch input on the screen at that point. (EDIT - this seems to have gone away for now... would appreciate some help with #1...  though this doesn't necessarily bode well) Are there Yoga touchscreen drivers or a test utility I can use to try to fix this? WIndows 8.1, Intel i5-4210Y CPU... any other info I can provide?  Thanks in advance John

A:Yoga 11s touch screen issues (when folding)

Follow-up for #1If I fold the screen in (<90 degrees) and view the computer properties, it say "Full Windows Touch Support with 10 Touch Points"If I fold the screen back to regular laptop mode, it says "No pen or touch input available" If I fold/unfold the screen while viewing the Device Manager, I see the # of Human Interface Devices change from 3 (at folded out) to 7 (while folded in)

I have ben dealing with problems with this touch screen since I got the laptop.  It has been continuously ghosting, while it got better after the June update, it still ghosts without touches, until you start using the touch screen.  When using the touch screen it starts drawing gray lines in between the point im touching and the point its ghosting to (the lines arent always direct). I recently wiped my the drive, reimaged to a backup from april and tried reupdating it.  When I got to the touch screen drivers, I got through the initial setup and told it to open the update when finished but the machine froze.  Now when I try to reinstall, I get to the finish page on the update tools install, have it open the updater, but the program immediately closes.Any help would be much appreciated.

After powering on, touchscreen works well for a while but after stopping to touch for just 5-6 seconds it is coming unresponsive. When it comes unresponsive i press in an area constantly right click function works and also touchscreen works well again for a while. It seems that after staying inactive for a couple of seconds it comes to an unresponsive state. I did lots of things (calling lenovo support, recovering Windows 10, HID driver deleting, updating, disabling, turning power management off HID items, turning to default bios setting) but nothing changed. Does anyone have any ideas? Three times when Windows 10 has done its updates, the touch screen has quit working on my Yoga 3. The first time, tech support had me remove several drivers which did not solve the solution, but caused the computer to no longer work. After restoring the system all worked well, but a few weeks later when the touch screen no longer worked again. Once again, the only solution tech support could offer was to restore the system, which I did again. After reinstalling all my apps, all was well until the next update. Now I again no longer have a touch screen. It's a big chore to reinstall all programs. I don't really want to do it again. Anybody else had problems like this. Is this a hardware problem in this particular computer? I can't find others with the problem.

Hi everyone, I am experience a lot of problems with the touch screen on my Yoga 3 14. At least once a day I am getting ghost touches, i.e. it starts thinking that the screen is being pressed when it isn't. It closes windows, opens the keyboard and types, etc. I've noticed it mostly in laptop mode, but that may be because that's how I use it most of the time. For now I resort to putting it into hibernation or having to do a full reboot, and it fixes it for a while but always starts up again. It happens in different places on the screen, usually just one at a time but occasionally multiple touches. I've had the laptop for 2 months and have had the problem since week 1 or 2.  Is there any solution to this besides calling support and having them replace the screen/other parts?

A:Yoga 3 14 Ghost touches on touch screen

hi hucktopia,

Welcome to the Forums.

Your problem might be similar to this thread.

If you barely use the Touchscreen to navigate around, can you try these steps to disable the feature:
1. Press the Windows key? +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter (this should open the Device Manager).
2. On the Device Manager, click View > Show Hidden Devices and under Human Interface Devices section, uninstall the HID-compliant device touch screen (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).
    - Sample image

3. When finished, reboot the system and observe.

If the above procedure works, you should be able to use the system normally but I recommend that you report the issue by contacting lenovo support.

Hi guys,  So I have had a yoga 13 for about a year now (love it), however I have come across a minor issue that started occuring about 3-5 months ago. When I open up my yoga from sleep mode,  hibernation, turn it on, or restart my everything works for a couple of seconds and then randomly bubbles with about a half inch diameter start popping up, usually in a horizontal fashion across my screen from about an inch down from the top of the display. These are the bubbles I am referering to are the visual effect when a finger touches the screen and expand into boxes when the touch is held for roughly a second or longer. However these rogue bubbles seem to spawn without cause or warning, and resultingly keep me from controlling my cursor with my track pad, touch screen, or an external mouse once they appear. It is also worth noting that when I made my yoga 13 purchase I also 2 more for family members, neither of their yogas share this complication. Though this case might seem drastic, however in reality it is small and somewhat trivial as I have found a trick that by rubbing my finger around on the touch screen eradically the bubbles dissapear and release my cursor from the binds of their possession. The problem is solved until the lid closes, sleep, hibernate, shut down, or restart, at which I am required to rinse and repeat this pesky process. With that in mind, I am seeking help, suggestions, solutions, and possibly an exorcist for my problem. I have a i... Read more

Hi I have bought Lenovo Yoga 500 14 i3 six months ago. Several months ago on the left side of the screen appeared ghost touches. This ghosts touches were exactly on one line of the screen, it is about 6 centimetres from right edge. I went to warranty center and they changed the screen. Two months has passed. And exactly in the same screen line touch screen stoped to work. If to put laptop in 360degree mode - everything works ok.Here is the video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xnz_L_11f8Actually I am begining to want my money back.

A:Lenovo Yoga 500 14 Touch screen issue

Hi there, Alex -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Regarding the ghost punches/ghost touch, there were some isolated issues for that issue on some Yoga 700, in addition to that, there is also a fix for it. Please see this thread.
Can you try the following?

Under theDevice Manager> Human Interface Devices, can you do a right click and disable on anything that says HID-compliant device (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).
When finished, reboot the system and observe if you still get the same issue.

Update us how it goes.

My recently purchased X1 Yoga touch screen has stopped working. Things I've tried to so far: Updating all drivers for BIOS and other devicesDisabling and re-enabling the touchscreen device and Wacom HID device in Device ManagerUninstalling touch screen device and Wacom HID Device in Device ManagerUnchecking "allow computer to turn off this device to save power"Reboot from safe modeRestore Windows to factory defaultFor clarifications the pen is working just fine.  I was able to get the touchscreen back for awhile by uninstalling the Wacom device in Device Manager and rebooting. That fix doesn't work anymore. I'm really frustrated by this - not even restoring windows to factory default fixes the problem. I've looked online for many hours on this issue and pretty much tried everything suggested. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I have a Yoga 11s Laptop (ideapad) with windows 8.1, bought it 3 years ago, and the touch screen hasn't workedfor about two week. I've installed touchpad drivers, and refreshed the computer. Installing the drivers did nothing, and the touch screen worked after the refresh until I flipped the screen to use it in stand mode.  Thoughts? Will a factory reset make a difference?  I really need the touch screen for the work I do, and I can't send it out for repairs.

Hey guys first off im new to the community cause I just got my first Lenovo about 10 days ago after using HP's for most of my life. So far I love it, everything about it is amazing its got the i7 processor and the Intel 5500 graphics which is plenty for anything I can bring to the table. But I have had two issues with it so far I havent been able to resolve; 1. Somehow or another after the second day I set my computer in what im assuming is "FN key lock" or something like that. F1-F12 normally would require you to hold FN in order to click, while the functions such as mute, volume up/down, brightness adjust, etc... would be free to click. But then after the second day it switched and I prefer it the way it was at first. 2. This one is a little more serious. about 1 out of every 4 times I start my computer the touch screen will begin to freak out and act as if something is touching it in like 20 different places at the same time. I can see the little touch circles appear all over the screen when my hands arent even touching the computer. Obviously when this is happening it renders the computer useless cause everything gets clicked and all I can do to stop it is force shut it down. Any help or solutions would be MUCH appreciated, thanks guys!!!

Hello Lenovo Forum, I installed Xubuntu on my Thinkpad Yoga 14 and one day I tried to poke around and click the mouse button during boot time. Then I had the magical on-screen virtual keyboard popping up on the GRUB menu. You can see a photo of the on screen virtual keyboard here: http://imgur.com/p6JUrQr I also give a video showing how to activate the keyboard: Basically, clicking left mouse button (either the one on the trackpoint or an external mouse can work) will bring up the virtual keyboard. You need to touch it quickly, because every time any content on the screen changes (in this video, that is the countdown which refreshes every second) the keyboard will disappear. Touching the a key on the Virtual keyboard is equivalent to pressing the corresponding physical key. In this video I clicked Down Arrow, Up Arrow and Enter and booted Xubuntu. The Keyboard shows only in the GRUB Menu, as far as I have tested. It does not pop up in BIOS even if you click the left mouse button in BIOS. Is there a more detailed description of this Keyboard available? I searched "Thinkpad Yoga 14 virtual keyboard grub" but got no useful results, so the Keyboard looks like a secret, an easter egg or some maintenance mode to me. Personally I think this keyboard will make it very convenient for those who use the Yoga in tent mode / presentation mode / tablet mode and need to reboot across Linux and Windows and have no external USB keyboard and do not want to co... I have a basic model of the YOGA 300 (11 BY).  Due to size limitations of the eMMC drive, I couldn't upgrade to windows 10 (not enough disk space). So I downloaded the windows 10 installer/ISO to a 32gb SD Card, and upgraded from there.. actually (probably a mistake in retrospect) I did a clean install.. Windows 10 runs with no problems, and I downloaded./installed all the Lenovo drivers for windows 10 for this machine. Unfortunately I now have two issues: 1. When I flip the screen into tablet mode, the laptop doesn't seem to realise, and so I don't get the auto-tablet mode that I would expect? 2. Even with all the Lenovo drivers for this machine installed, I do not get any touch-screen response at all.. only mouse driven. Any help would be appreciated. P.S:  Anyone with the same version of YOGA 300 with an eMMC who wish to gain more drive space?  You can buy a cheap USB 3.0 slimline USB disk (because the SD Card sticks out a bit) and create a VHD which gives you a second "real drive"... this was particularlly useful when wanting to store my dropbox/onedrive sync locations!

I bought this Yoga 11e (20D9) in December 2014 and Windows 8.1 was installed as default. From last Friday, 29th May 2015, touch screen has stopped responding totally. For six months, there was no fall or damage or even a scratch in / outside of the laptop. After trying all the possible suggestions found in this forum and the other web sites, I have reset it to factory default - fully removed everything and installed Windows. And then all the Windows Updates and also Lenovo Updates completely. Still the touch screen is not working or responsive at all. I think I did all things I can try. Now I am about to claim warranty service.Last Decempber, I decided to buy this Lenovo products which I had believed as the most reliable laptop, but it does not have  that much good quality after all.

Hello,

I have a desktop Dell Inspiron 530 XP SP3 that was gaining time and dropping my internet connection often.  It's about 10 years old, so I figured it was past time to change the CMOS battery and did so.

When I restarted, I attempted to synchronize with adjust date/time.  It informed me that Windows could not synchronize for security reasons because my date did not match and to adjust the date and try again.  Sure enough, I hadn't noticed but the date was reading 2007.  So, I manually adjusted to both the correct date and correct time and tried again and got the same message.  So then I went into BIOS setup.  BIOS showed both the correct date and time.

This isn't a big issue at this point, I guess, because the time in both BIOS and on my desktop are showing the correct date and time and I no longer seem to be gaining time or dropping my internet connection since I replaced the battery, and I can manually adjust the date and time.  However, it bothers me that I cannot seem to synchronize with an internet time server because it keeps saying that the date does not match.  I have tried various time servers including pool.ntp.org.  Any ideas would be very welcome.

A:Time synch tool doesn't work after replacing CMOS battery

Have you reset the computers time?  If it is off many things being time dependent will not work.  AV's and security programs will not update! Just in case right the time and date in the task bar and set it to current date and time.

Yesterday I reinstalled Windows 7 on my notebook PC. I had to use a Microsoft installation disk because unfortunately, serious errors resulted after I installed from the HP recovery program. Consequently the HP drivers that were installed automatically with the recovery program weren't installed on my system. I had to install several of them from the HP support site. I got everything to work except for the Touch volume control, or the Volume Scroll Zone as referred to by HP in the service guide. This is the device located just above the keyboard that increases or decreases speaker volume when you drag you finger on it. I installed the Quick Launch button driver but that only applied to the mouse and pointer touchpad. I looked at the devices listed in my startup configuration. I saw the synaptics pointing device and the HP quick launch buttons listed. So is the IDT PC audio driver.  What am I missing? Where I can I find it to activate the touch volume control?

I have been facing this issue from the day one since I installed Windows 10 on my laptop (Dell XPS L502x).

Native Windows Applications like all browsers, office products etc. anything that is not from the Store, works fine. I can use Touch Pad scrolling with no trouble. e.g. on Internet Explorer, Chrome, MS Word, etc.

But the apps that come out of store or the apps like those which come pre-built with Windows 10 such as new Settings UI, Microsoft Edge. Touch Pad scrolling just don't work with these apps. When I perform scrolling the scroll-icon appears but doesn't scroll the content.

This issue is only with Touch Pad. External Mouse works great with scrolling on any kind of app.

Hope to find a solution here.
Thanks

PS: drivers are all good on the machine and up to date with no warning or error.

The power button of the laptop doesn't turn on/off the laptop. I have to use a detachable remote to turn the laptop on. I don't see blue light on the power key, once the remote turns the laptop on.2. The quick play touch sensative keys above the laptop key board have blue light in most of them. But its flickering red for volume, and no indicator on the volume increase decrease touch region. Though some have blue indicator, red lights....none of the touch sensative keys function at present.3. The laptop touch pad is unresponsive. It has its blue light, which doesn't turn red even if the touch pad is locked. I use a USB mouse as of now.4. Laptop has 3 audio jacks. One for microphone, and 2 for headphone. The external speaker doesnt have any sound, so i have to plug in earphone everytime to listen anything. In control panel --> under sound --> playback ---> i see speakers and realtek digital output ---> both show green oscillating bars when an audio is played. But the volume key in quick play tab is flickering red all the time. The laptop is fully functional. But it would be great if the problems mentioned above gets fixed. Sincerely

I have a Samsung series 7 Slate, which works great and is really fast with Windows 8. But with one piece of software the touch screen doesn't work, the menu items will light up but nothing happens when you press them. If I use a mouse it works fine and as it should. I don't think it's the software because I also used it on a HP 500 Slate and the touchscreen worked fine on that.

If anyone has any ideas for a solution to this problem I would much appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

A:Mouse works but touch screen doesn't!

There is a bit of a glitch when using older touchscreen hardware with windows 8.

Nearly all older touchscreen hardware is implemented as an mouse emulator. So when pressing on the screen it simulates a mouse click.

Windows 8 makes use of the touchscreen interface rather than the mouse interface for touchscreens, and the driver it installed for your touchscreen (if it installed one) may not be working too well with the hardware. If you install a driver separately for that touchscreen you may get back the mouse emulation for the touchscreen, but then some of the better options like gestures and sweep scrolling may not work well or at all in windows 8.

So what you really need is a touchscreen driver that is really a touchscreen driver (not a mouse emulator driver) for that model of touchscreen on your slate. If you know the touchscreen manufacturer you can maybe find a beta on their site for Windows 8? Find the touchscreen device in the hardware control panel and look up it's VID and PID to find the manufacturer if the driver page doesn;t already tell you. (There is a website somewhere that'll look up the VID/PID and tell you what the product and manufacturer is)

But.. may be slim chance. If not, try finding the normal windows 7 touchscreen drivers for it, that may help some, though not guarantee it'll be fully functional.

Dear Forum, Ever since I installed Windows 10 the automatic screen rotation doesn't work. I have the impression that Windows doesn't even know that my Thinkpad has the corresponding sensors. In the device manager, there is no "Sensor" section, I have no "Rotation lock" button in the quick settings (not greyed out, it's not even there), and the physical rotation lock button does nothing. I checked that the services "Sensor Data Service", "Sensor Monitoring Service" and "Sensor Service" are running and automatically started.I read here on the forum, that there should be some "HID sensors V2" visible in the Device manager. This doesn't show up, so I have no idea how to reinstall drivers. Any suggestions how to teach Windows that it has more hardware than it thinks it has?

Welcome to the forums! I've moved your question from the Lenovo Ideapad Yoga forums over to here: the ThinkPad Yoga forum.

In answer to your question, I would suggest you try reinstalling the Intel chipset drivers for your ThinkPad Yoga from the support site:

I have an ASUS notebook running windows 7 64-bit. I am using the QuietOffice power profile, however the screensaver won't kick in no matter what I do, and the display does not turn off even though I set it to be after 5-minutes of inactivity. I don't know if there is something running in the background... I have turned off my usb wireless mouse, and nothing....

Any ideas?

THanks.

A:HELP: power option doesn't work - screen saver doesn't start!

This is another case of factory bloatware interfering - in this case a useless factory utility overriding Win7's superior built-in version.

Googling the Quiet Office feature of Asus there are multiple reported problems. Best to default to the Win7 built-in Power Options in Control Panel. Set up a Balanced Plan unless you're a gamer then use High Performance.

Here are other tips for cleaning up factory bloatware

A:can a touch screen work in dos

OK, if I read that right, you are missing the Windows 7 Boot Animation. I'm not sure if these links will help but its some place to start.
No windows 7 boot animation
No boot animation for Windows 7? [Archive] - My Digital Life Forums
Oh, thats not DOS, there is no DOS in Windows 7. There is a command shell that you can launch from Windows but its not DOS. The first text based screen you see during boot up is the BIOS POST screen and or your Video cards BIOS screen.

I have an HP ENVY TouchSmart, Windows 8.1 and 64-bit operating system and yesterday my touch screen was working fine, and today I turn on my laptop and it doesn't work at all. Keyboard works fine, mouse works fine. everything but the touchscreen. I thought it could be complications from a very recent update but It was updated on the 17th. Under my system information it says, "Pen and Touch: No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display". I don't know if that's unusual. I've restarted it, and tried steps to fix the problem like "calibrate my screen" but i can't seem to find the settings to it. In my Device Manager settings, I can't seem to find anything relating to touchscreen software, if there is any? I take good care of my laptop but I don't know the first thing about it. There is no damage to it.  When troubleshooting Hardware and Devices, "The driver for eGalaxTouch EXC7910-1037-11.01.01 is not installed."...Problems found: eGalaxTouch EXC7910-1037-11.01.01 doesn't have a driver-Not fixed. Hardware changes might not have been detected-Detected. I've checked if anything neds to be updated. I dont know what to do from here. Is there anything that I need to install?

Hello all.
I have a non touch E5450 base, I want to put a touch screen top assembly onto it. I have sourced the whole top assembly including hinges. But I was wondering if the Hinge covers are different on this particular model depending on the screen used? I know some of the 7000 series have different hinge covers, but not sure about the 5000 series.
Comparing photos on Google has been inconclusive and I am unable to find a part number.

Anyone able to help me?

Cheers!

Hi, i had my motherboard replaced due some manufacturing fault. When i got my laptop back it wasnīt working quite well so i decided to reinstal operating system. I used Backup button and restored my laptop to initial settings. This got me properly working laptop with win 8.1. Afrer i upgraded to win 10 my touch screen stoped working so i did a little research and found some topics with similar problems but any of those  didnīt solve my problem. ? This is screenshot of my deice manager, that unknown USB is my touch screen ( it says: unknown USB device (descriptor request failed)). I tried uninstal this driver, when i do that my touch screen starts working for like 3 seconds and than it stops working again. By the way this is rare to see box called HID in my device manager usually it doesnīt even show up. I tried update drivers through windows update. That didnīt change a thing so i update almost every driver manually (i download all of them from official lenovo support site) . And guess what, that did not worked eather. I am not sure which other solution i tried, because am trying to solve this problem for quite long time, but i feel like i tried everything (even reinstaling win 10) and didnīt even get close to solving this issue.Do you have some idea how to solve this problem?Sorry for grammar mistakes.

had this computer for little over 2 months and snce having it the touch screen will not work at all hp 15.1 notebook, touch the screen nothing happens look in device manager cant even find the touch screen in there, any help would be appreciated, thanks

A:touch screen on windows 10 wont work

I request you to boot the PC to BIOS and test the touchscreen in BIOS. To boot the PC to BIOS, first turn off the PC completely. Keep tapping ESC on startup. You would get a startup menuPress F10 to get into BIOS. do not keep the PC in mute. Touch the screen in BIOS, the PC should beep.  If the PC beeps in BIOS (system utility), the touch screen is fine and you are facing a driver or a software issue. If the PC does not beep in BIOS, when you touch the screen, there is a issue with the display/touchscreen. Considered as a hardware issue (service or display replacment might be required). Please share the product number of your PC. This will help get the specification of your PC and I can give further suggestions.  ****Click the White thumb to say thanks********Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem****

hello i heave a nettop mini pc and i have a 7" super sk-8802-a touch screen monitor. when i purhcased it from ebay the seller told me the drivers support windows 7 . i got it and it supports everything below xp and as well as xp. i rather see if i can get it to work rather than sending it back i heard that windows 7 has a xp mode so i can use the programs on windows 7. i found a driver for it from a website called touchkit.com but its a rar file. my thought is can i install the drivers regularly and then swap out the rar files. and help would be great.

A:my touch screen dont work .... bad drivers

If you can't get it to work I would send it back and get your money back. I wouldn't even play around with the guy he misled you and I wouldn't post a good deed done on his reputation. I have seen to many people get taken on Ebay and it ticks me off because I for one have had it done to me. I now by everything brand new from Newegg and or some place I know to be reputable.

Unrar the files to a folder on your desktop and open up device manager and right click on you new touch screen monitor and click update drivers. Then select "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" and then select "Search For Drivers In This Location" and Make sure the subfolders check box is checked and then browse to you folder and click ok then click next. It will either say it is updating the drivers ot that windows has determined that the best driver is already installed. If it says the later then try an Automatic update from windows update. Before you do though go into system in control panel and click the hardware tab and select the setings for "Device Installation Settings" and set it to these setting like below in the screenshot the go back into device manager and automatically update the drivers and it will search windows update as well to see if there are drivers available for your device.
