HP Envy 15t-K000 Hinge repair and return parts to HP Parts S...

Q: HP Envy 15t-K000 Hinge repair and return parts to HP Parts S...

I have two issues that I hope you can assist me with. The first paragraph below is for the first issue. The second paragraph below is for the second issue. I appreciate any assistance you could provide.

On 4/2/2016, I placed an order for a new display back cover and a set of hinges in the HP Parts Store. My HP [personal information removed]. Total order cost = $233.91 in US dollars. I paid for the parts already via credit card and the parts were delivered to me. A friend of mine repairs laptops as a full time occupation. She was planning to help me repair the broken laptop hinge and replace the back cover so part of the replacement hinge would be protected when I transport the computer. Unfortunately, my friend found out that her sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer after I received the parts from the HP Parts Store. My friend has been spending lots of time caring for her ill sister and her elderly parents in their 80s. She is unable to help me repair the right hinge and back cover of my laptop. The parts have not been touched and they are still in the boxes. I would like to return the parts and receive a credit applied to my charge account; however the HP return policy states that parts must be returned in 14 days. The HP Parts Store also charges a restocking fee. Can you assist with this return transaction? I would prefer to not pay the restocking fee.

I would still like to have the laptop hinge repaired so that the laptop can close properly and be portable. Aside from the right hinge not closing and the plastic parts missing from both sides of the hinge, the laptop is still functional and I like the touchscreen. The laptop is two years old and is no longer covered by the standard one year HP warranty. On this forum, I saw that you assisted Mike Amondo with a similar repair for $140 at an HP authorized repair center. Can you contact the HP Authorized repair center group and help me get the same repair price? If the repair center sends me a box, I can ship them the laptop.

So I'm planning on building my new PC and have found a list of all of the parts that I would like to purchase. This will be my first build and wanted to check that A) all these parts are compatible and B) that these are the best parts I can get for the money.

To clarify I will be using the PC for mainly gaming and Photoshop/other design work. The prices below are the best prices I could find online too. (Budget is about £600)
Tower - Antec 900 Nine Hundred Ultimate Gamer Case - £82.99
Power Supply - Corsair 500 Watt CX500 V2 Builder Series 80 Plus Power Supply - £44.98
CPU - Intel Core i5 2500K - £166.97
Motherboard - ASRock Z68 Extreme3 - £100.00
RAM - Patriot G Series ‘Sector 5’ Edition 4GB - £24.49
Graphics card - Sapphire RADEON HD 6850 - £118.40
Hard drive - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB - £61

Think this all I will need (apart from a disc drive) any other hidden costs/ parts that I am missing out too?

Thanks

Hi there,

I often find myself needing to replace pieces on laptop motherboards, most often the charger port. Where do you guys go to order products like these? I often find them on ebay but it would be nice if I knew of a local electronics store or somewhere that carries unique parts like this.

Thanks!

A:Where do you guys order laptop repair parts?

Usually, you would only find something like that at a local
electronics parts wholesaler and even then you would need the part
number and it may be special order.
Some of them will sell retail, over the counter, some won't.

Before you throw out your old, dead hard drives, dismantle them and recover the magnets inside.

Some of the most powerful magnets known to man are inside.

A couple of cute little motors too, but they don't like to come out easily.

I agree, just don't put the magnets together with your fingers in the middle of them !

A:HP ENVY 17t-k000 CTO Notebook PC will not power down

Hi, Try the following. Open Settings and select System.  Select Power and sleep, then click on Additional power settings - in the following window, click on 'Choose what the power button does' in the left hand pane. In the subsequent window, first click on 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' ( near the top of the Window ) and then remove the checkmark from the box against 'Turn on fast start-up (recommended)'.  Click the Save Settings button, then close any open windows and restart the notebook. When windows has reloaded, download the IMEI driver directly from Intel on the following link, unzip the package and run the installer. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26127/Intel-Management-Engine-Consumer-Driver-for-Intel-NU... When the installation has completed, restart the notebook. When the machine has reloaded, re-enable Fast Start-up and reboot the notebook once again - let Windows fully load for a few minutes before checking. Regards, DP-K

Hallo everyone, So this model has an internal battery so of course all the other help finding the serial number is basically useless. I am just wanting to know if I need to get my laptop a new battery due to the recent recall... Since I honestly don't fancy having the risk of it (and all my schoolwork) catch on fire. Though I am sure no one does. Basically any help is help, I just want to check to see if it is part of the recall since I know I bought it in the time frame of the recalled batteries. Thanks a bunch, Skyefer

Freezes right at bootup, sometimes in BIOS, sometimes I get as far as windows logon screen before it freezes again.  And if I leave it off long enough, I would be able to log into windows before it freezing again.  All these cases would require a hard reboot.  Definitely some kind of hardware issue.  I'm out of warranty, no surprise. Rant:  For those reading, including HP reps, I'd have to say very politely that HP is horrible, just horrible.  Customer service is great though, nice people I've enjoyed talking with, but still, it doesn't make up for the horrible product, wasted time, and frustration.  I personally don't buy HP, mostly Apple (a bit more $$ but worth it), but still cannot sway family members of older generations to do so (but they're slowly seeing the light).  They are still fixated on the HP golden days of reliability, which was way in the past.  Perhaps with this latest purchase, I can make a stronger case for HP's downward trend to the old folks.  But for now, I have a blank screen staring at me. Cheers.

A:HP ENVY 17t-k000 freezes on bootup (and a little ranting :)

And I have some Apple horror stories I can tell you but let's not. Do you want to try to fix the HP? Or are we just going to throw in the towel? Frankly sounds to me like maybe bad memory or a bad hard drive, either of which could be easily remedied. To replace it with a like MacBook Pro might cost $2500. True, it is a more robust product but HP also makes professional laptops in that price range that I will stack up against Apple notebooks any day.

I just bought an Envy 15t K000 CTO laptop and want to ADD an SSD as the system drive. At the same time, I want to keep the original HDD at its place as a storage for pictures and videos. I found a maintenance handbook on hp.com and it said that the K000 model had a m2280 slot.So I wonder if I could buy an m2280 SSD and install the operating system in it while keep the HDD and the optical drive.

A:Does HP Envy 15t k000 CTO support m2280 ngff SSD?

Well I just disassembled the system board and had a look inside. Now I can confirm that the model Envy 15t k000 CTO does not have an m2280 SSD slot although the manual says it have. In fact, there's space for the slot behind the system board and the size should be m2280. But the fact is there's no such an slot. Pity. If you want to add an SSD to the laptop, you have to replace the HDD with an SATA III SSD.  The HDD can replace the optical drive if you want to keep the HDD as the storage.

The right hinge broke on my ENVY m6. Now the left one is about to go. The waranty is up and I have noticed that this is a common problem with this product. I should hope that there has been a recall on this. HP should at least repair the issue free of charge (waranty or no waranty). I take great care of my things and my computer is no exception. Please give me advice on this one. I am extremely disappointed at this point.

The right hinge on my Envy 17 Touch Screen has failed, causing the case to become separated and the lid to be nearly impossible to close. This is the second Envy 17 to fail in this way. About a year ago my husband's broke and HP spent nearly three months attempting to repair it before finally just shipping him a new one. This appears to be a flaw in the construction of the hinge assembly, and we have noticed that the newer models, such as my husband's replacement, have a much improved design in comparison. We spent about $1,300 on this computer (it has an i7 Core and 16 GB of RAM) and hoped it would hold up for a while. The laptop was great, but now it has become difficult to use without fear of causing further damage. Thank you for any suggestions.

Sent my IBuypower PC in when it wouldn't boot. They told me the motherboard, video card and liquid cooling system all dead. Around $500 just for parts. Machine cost $1200 and is 2 years 8 months old.

2 issues is smarter to a whole new machine or rebuild with oem parts. Their service was horrible so I'll have to do the rebuild.

Also can I place the hard drives from this machine into an external case and still run the programs and access the data.

Not sure if this belongs here.

I've looked around in old boxes and stuff (cardboard) of my dad's and have noticed a whole lot of old parts laying around.

Instead of letting them just sit there getting outdated I want to do something with them, make something. Whatever but have had no ideas.

SO what do you people do with old parts?

A:What to do with old parts?

If they're usuable like CD-ROMs, floppy drives, hard drives - recycle them in new builds. Even older, lower capacity hard drives can be used as external drives with a USB to IDE adapter.

If not, sell 'em on ebay. That's what I do.
I used to run a computer salvage business years ago.
When I retire from the military in the next few years, I might get back into it.

So, decided I should do a little outside the case upgrading. Problem is, since most of my expertise is on case hardware, I have no clue whats good, or where to buy said items im looking for, so hoping someone can help me out.

Parts I'm looking for is new speakers, new mouse/keyboard, and a webcam. I'm looking for something good, reliable and does the job, some fancy perks would be nice, but nothing wallet breaking. I don't wanna spend $1000 on them, but preferably less then say ooh $300-$400 max, any less and it be better.. The ones I have now, are your basic Walmart bottom barrel ones, they work, but my mouse is already going out and my speakers sound like they're on the way out as well. So any advice, on what kind, where to buy online, so on and so forth would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for spring loaded push lock fasteners that are used to secure heatsinks and coolers to video cards, chipsets, etc. I am familiar with the following items, but I prefer straight spring loaded pins without the bow.

I am familiar with everything located here;

http://www.performance-pcs.com/cata..._in_description=1&keyword=push+lock+fasteners

and here;

http://www.xsfans.com/4pack-ziotek-...6.html?zenid=e601f24968cc7718e8d18c314b77cc3a

I know I can secure the coolers with thermal adhesive so you don't have to recommend that since I have plenty of thermal adhesive.

If you happen to be familiar with a company that stocks the pins without a bow, if you would post a link to the website it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Recently I've been doing some upgrading to my 3 year old desktop computer. Went from 750gb Harddrive to 1tb...Switched out graphic card Nvidia Geforce 8500GT 512mb for Nvidia Geforce 9500GT 1gb

I'm interested in replacing the motherboard, processor, and adding more memory. I don't want to do all this at the same time so initially what I get would have to be an upgrade but would still have to be compatible with what I have currently.

Would like to have 8gb memory, & faster processor by the end of it...

Firstly though would like to replace the motherboard (it's older and I've been having problems that might be associated with it). I have a HP Pavillion m9200t so whatever motherboard that would fit that case is what I'm looking for. Has to be able to hold 8gb of memory DDR2 800ghz. My video card is a PCI-e so would need a slot for that...and at the very least 4 x usb. I have windows vista 64-bit home prem and have had no problems with this os and probably going to keep it as appose to buying windows 7.

I've noticed that you can buy motherboards as a separate or bundled with CPU. With that in mind I'm thinking I should get a bundled package??? I'm looking to get something that will work good, last awhile (another 3 years or more???) but isn't extremely expensive or too top of the line. I heard ASUS was a good brand.

I have to say I've switched out parts on desktops like harddrive, memory, videocard, cd drive, power ... Read more

PSU, Mobo and Case must be ATX

Type of RAM module must be supported by mobo

FSB of RAM and CPU shouldn't be higher than mobo's FSB

CPU socket type must match that of the motherboard...

graphics card you want must also be able to be used on the motherboard (PCI-E or AGP, etc)

mobo and PSU have same number of pins (for mobo power socket)

Is this all right, or am I missing something else? Thanks!

I bought a Mobo/CPU/DDR Combo that I saw working on the shop bench after exchanging the initial board because it wouldn't boot or show video. But since I've had the rig at home, its been one headache after the next.

Here's what I got:
Mobo = ECS 848P
CPU = Intel SL7PM (BX80546PG3000ESL7PM)
DDR = PQI MD4412UOE (DDR400/512)

Now the ECS boots but the BIOS always hangs after I press Y at the Save to CMOS prompt (but stores the settings), so I've replaced ECS with Intel's D875P8Z rev 205. I got the Intel board out of spite for the ECS but now I'm back to the first problem, no boot/no video. This time I think the CPU and Mobo don't match but the info I get HERE and HERE lists a CPU called 3E (not Etreme) that has the same 800MHz/1MB spec as the SL7PM.
Do I have the right parts?

With the Intel combo, everything powers on but no POST (I think). There are no beeps but the light on the keyboard flash random patterns. Could there be a special P4 step I'm missing when installing?

Thanks

A:Do I have the right parts?

The power-on-but-no-post symptom could be remedied by powering the barebone up outside of the case. It could be a shorting somewhere.

Updating the BIOS of your new board may correct the wrong CPU read-out.

Hi Everybody,
Ok I was thinking about buliding a low-end computer just for Internet use for my father. I already have a mointer, keyboard, mouse, speakers, cd-rw drive, 250w p/s. I dont want a floppy drive in it. And the motherboard doesnt have to have intergrated ethernet becuase I also have an pci ethernet card. I dont want a dial-up modem in it either.

So basicly what recommendation for a case, motherboard and cpu. Also the motherboard has to have intergrated sound and video. I am guessing a celeron cpu? Also what ram should I get in terms of how many mb or gb's. Is 256mb of ram enough?

Thank you very much techspot members

Hi, i'll dive straight in and say that i think i need a whole new pc. i think something shorted on my mobo and now nothing works, it won't turn on. ?I think the PSU is ok because after it shutdown (it happened whilst it was on) the fans kept rinng, like they're meant to (Enermax PSU).

So i think i need a new mobo and cpu to go with it, and quite possibly a new graphics card. I'm not worrying about RAM too much because i think i'll probably get that from eBay.

Basically i'm asking for advice on what i could buy, but on a pretty tight budget. I was thinking possibly this cpu AMD Sempron 3000+ and this mobo DFI INFINITY NF4X Socket 754 but nothing's definate yet so i'm fairly flexible.

Thanks in advance

Oh, i found this on eBay too if it's any good

Hello,

What's a good program to split a PDF file?

For example, I have a 100 page file, but only really need pages 65 - 90, how do I save these pages separately?

Thanks.

A:Splitting PDF into parts

1) You can do it quite easily in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Use the "Document-> Extract Pages..." menu item. Then Drag and drop pages into another document from the "Pages" navigation tab.

2) There are many, many 3rd party products for splitting PDFs. Just do a web search on "Split PDF".

A:Where can I buy T460 parts from?

Hello, rygar_Discrete graphics chip is soldered to the systemboard. So, to upgrade laptop you have to ... replace the systemboard and cooling system, at least. T460 with discrete graphics is available in the US only (presently). As well the DIS-systemboards, but presently such boards aren't orderable. Since my Dell Dimension 2350 cannot be upgraded to play Ceasar 4 and similar games, I must build my own. Cannot afford a new one. Some questions for anyone who can answer.
1. Are the Dell drives (hard, floppy, CDRW) proprietary, or can I put them in a new case?
2. How does one know which mobo will support the drives?
3. Since my hard drive came with XP loaded, and if I am able to put it in a new case (new system) will the OS automatically function in the new system?
4. I assume that with Dell's non standard case, I probably couldn't find a new/different mobo to fit it--or could I?

Well, that's enough questions from this newbie. Thanks.
DD

A:interchanging parts

The proprietary parts in your Dell may be: case, power supply, motherboard. Everything else is standard. Whether something fits your new system - you just have to look at the specifications of the old and new devices.

So I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 660 and while I'm sure that the processor will be fine (its an i5 and I've seen some decent performance on them), but I'm worried that the graphics card won't be up to what I want, so I've been looking at the following parts.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%2050001561%20600286767%20600298541&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=48|17-151-115^17-151-115-TS%2C14-202-002^14-202-002-TS

Are these going to be compatible and will they be able to let me play games like BF3 or Titan Fall on medium to high settings? If these aren't going to be good enough for what I will want, feel free to link me some stuff that will be. My only thing is that I don't want to pay more than $300 for a graphics card, but I figure up to $300 should be able to get me something more than fine for my needs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Need advice on these parts

Can you provide a link to the desktop you purchased? Dell Inspiron 660's have various options that can be chosen by consumers through Dell.

---------------------------------------------------------

If your budget is up to $300, I highly suggest the EVGA GeForce GTX 660Ti. It's what I'm using in my custom PC and have been able to run all games on high.

Having said that, you need to make sure of a few things with this graphics card, and any others you might be looking at purchasing:

1) Is your PSU powerful enough?

2) Will the card fit in your case?

3) Does your PSU and motherboard have the necessary connections to power the card?

---------------------------------------------------------

I owned a Dell Inspiron 530s which I tried upgrading the graphics card for a couple years back. The dimensions of the graphics card I purchased were too big for the case, and my power supply wasn't strong enough to power the card even if it could have fit.

By using defraggler, i recently found out that the page file on my os disk is split into two parts. I wonder if this may impact system performance and if so, if there is a fix. The file is 1.5 gb.

A:Pagefile in two parts, why?

Not sure at all...what you mean.

Are you talking physical location on the hard drive...or are you referring to two locations for "pagefile" on the hard drive when looking via Explorer?

All files...may not necessarily be in one contiguous location...that's what fragmentation is.

I have to build a computer for my CMT school project, though I've decided to upgrade my current one, (seen in my sig), and use the old parts to rebuild the new computer for my mom. Now, if you look at my specs, you'll notice that I have an 8800GTS with 1GB of RAM, but an Athlon 64+ 3000. Yes, I know it's a huge bottleneck. I upgraded my videocard, powersupply, and hard drive last year, so I will not be needing to replace those for the rebuild. To upgrade, I need a new motherboard, RAM, and processor.

That will leave me with my old videocard (6600GT), old powersupply (350W I think), old hard drive, current motherboard, ram and processor to build a new computer for my mom. I will need to buy a new case and CD/DVD drives to finish it off.

So in short:

I need a new motherboard, processor, and RAM for my current computer (in sig), and then a new case and CD/DVD drives for this computer:

Athlon 64+ 3000
6600GT
Chaintech NForce4 Ultra ATX Motheboard
80GB Harddrive
350Watt Antec powersupply

In total, I don't really want to spend more than $300. I plan on buying a bit later, maybe in November, so I'll be checking again before I buy to be sure I'm getting the most efficient deals. I plan on ordering from Newegg.

If this doesn't make any sense then please tell me and I'll try to reword it.

EDIT: I guess you have to view my profile to see my sig, so to make it easier I'll post my specs here:

My laptop recently went out and I have to wait for it to be fixed so I ordered some parts from Newegg to piece together an adequate computer (the one I"m on now really sucks... It's old school with a pentium II that maxes and lags out if I load a video.)

Anyway, I received my parts today and was very excited. I hadn't built a barebone before, so my friend and I (he knows more about computers than I do) put it together and followed all of the instructions perfectly (We actually spent a really long time, because we wanted to do it right.)

The parts I purchased were:
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Brisbane 2.2GHz Socket AM2 65W Processor

-PC CHIPS A13G+ (V3.0) AM2 NVIDIA nForce 6100-405 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

-Athenatech A3603BB.400 Black Steel MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case 400W Power Supply

-Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit

I already had an 80 GB HDD @ 7200 RPM with Windows XP Pro installed on it (that's what is in this computer I'm using now,) and a disc drive which I also put into the computer. I used Arctic Alumina as my thermal paste.

Everything was installed and I was excited, and when I booted up the computer, the front lights came on (Power LED + HDD LED), the lights on the keyboard flashed once and stopped, the power supply fan works fine, the processor fan works fine, the case fan works fine, the hard drive is on and running, and the disc drive works and detects when I put d... take the motherboard out and check that you have not got too many stand-offs underneath the board - they will short it out. Also have you got the front panel connections all correct?

CPU: Intel C2D E4400 (65nm Allendale, 2.0 GHz)

Firstly, I'd like to know what you guys and dolls think of it. That includes stuff like how overclockable it (theoretically) should be, whether I've failed to notice any incompatibilities, and anything else you feel like telling me.

Secondly, if you have any better deals on identical or similar parts, it would save me a fortune if you could tell me. I'm trying to bring it from $488 to anywhere from $400-450. Every little bit helps.

A:Opinions on My (Possible) New Parts

Everything looks quality, if you're happy with the online retailers and can deal with their lack of a face when something goes wrong it looks like the platform should be fine and is enough quality to last you a few years.

The only thing I would tweak is to get a 6420 instead for a little more to take advantage of the 4mb cpu cache.

My employer has provided me with a Rugged 14 Latitude.
I want extra drive capacity utilizing the MSATA slot and ordered them accordingly. Additionally I wanted to swap the hard drive so I can run a different OS. I originally spent 4 hours on hold and my home phone battery died waiting. I used my cell phone calling different Dell support numbers only to get transferred to another number and another person to talk to. I  have spent at least 10 hours talking to representatives, getting transferred and when my order was placed for parts they were arbitrarily cancelled! Dell is a very dysfunctional  company who cannot support their own products that are advertised as current products. This  message is being sent  on  the  laptop that I  am asking for parts/support for. I am extremely angry!!!!!!!!!
This  company needs to do better!!!!!!!

so parts i picked up are
-8450 amd phenom x3 processor
-EVGA 512MB ddr3
geforce 9800 gt
-MSI K9A2 CF v2 am2+
-ozctech 2x2gb pc-s 6400 vista kite (<-only works with vista?)

suggestions?

A:do i NEED vista? with these parts

Those will work with any OS, the Vista thing is just because they give enough power to run Vista properly. Have you checked that the RAM is compatible with your motherboard? (not only throught size and speed. Also voltages, chip size, etc.)

I originally intended to have an E8400, but it sold out and doesn't seem to be coming back any time soon, so I'm looking for something else. I have the rest of the parts if that's necessary, but the most basic info I have is that I'm looking for an Intel processor and it's going to be used for games.

are the memory sticks from a cq56 and cq 62 compatible and also are the hard drives and fan compatible

A:compatible parts

hard drives yes definitely but that does not mean you can pull a hard drive from one and just put in another and boot...I just mean they use the same form factor. To say anything else about compatibility we would need to know the full model number of the 2 units...some are AMD some Intel so at a minimum that would be a barrier to interoperability of the fan units.

A:Need to know if these parts are Compatable.

In short, yes those are all compatiable.

The mobo is 939 with pcie x16. Your video card is also pcie x16 and you CPU is a 939.

I like your thinking on the mobo, getting one without the annoying little fan. My only recomendation to your upgrade is maybe make the jump to dual core. With an extra $50 or so you can get the x2 3800+

Also you should be sure to have adequate RAM, 512mb won't cut it anymore. Check your RAM and see if its DDR 400 (pc 3200) because thats the max of your mobo, and if its not I would recomend getting some.

Happy trails!

You have had at least 14BSODs in the last three days.
Two related to programs, Java, and Chrome.
Three related to outdated drivers.
And, the others Memory.

Are you sure your virus/malware clean??
This going to take some doin' on your part.
What I would like you to do is to unequivocally uninstall Java, and chrome.

Hi guys, a question about transferring parts from an old pc to a new one. I've recently bought a new Packard Bell 1605 imedia with 512 ram and 200gb hard drive. My previous pc is a several years old compaq with 256 ram and a 7gb hard drive, which I intend to keep as a back up. As it's just sitting there doing nothing, I wondered what parts I can transfer over to my new pc.

The 256ram is the obvious one, but I'm not sure if it would be compatable from such an old machine, also I only seem to see ram figures doubling ie 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, so would it be ok to have an "odd" ram figure of 768 and would it make a great deal of difference? And is it an easy task to perform, having never done it before?

Secondly, the 7gb hard drive - although the actual 7gb's won't make much of a difference to the 200gb's I've now got, is there a benefit to having a slave drive as well as a master albeit very small in comparison?

And a final, unrelated, hardware question, I occasionally receive a message in my sys tray telling me that the hardware wizard has detected new hardware (an unknown usb device) that would work faster if it was connected to a high speed hub/port, but I haven't installed anything - any ideas?

Thanks a lot in advance

Hey all,

I have someone who is gonna let me try to replace their iPad 3G LCD. huh huh, *NERD SNORT*

It was dropped.

Im pretty savvy when it comes to electronics. I have replaced the screens in laptops dozens of times.

What I need is a decent reliable place to buy the part. I can find tons of teardown guides to read up on.

Does anyone know a trustworthy place to buy an official part? Other than apple?

A:iPad parts

Apple product parts aren't interchangeable commodities. At best you could buy a non-working iPad with a perfect screen. You realize these things can't be pried apart with a screwdriver, right? They're designed to be repaired by Apple.

Personally and experience I would not use that board at all I would go with Asus.MSI DFI or even Chaintech Do a search on newegg for a board .The board you picked is real cheap and you get what you pay for remember the motherboard should be as good as the cpu you place in there and a good motherboard will last a lot longer and give you better overall proformance .ALso go with a good brand name power supply like Thermotake OCZ Antech to name a few jsut becuse the powersupply says 550w dont mean it is this all has to do with effiecenty.. As for your ram any brand Kingston ,Cosiar OCZ Geial all very good brands.

A:Could somebody tell me if these parts work well together?

Should be fine. A few words of advise;
1 Get a WD black series drive rather than a green drive. The black series is better built with dual supports for the seek arm, dual processors, and a 5yr warranty.
2 The intel type heatsink fans can be difficult for a new builder to install. Do some reading and viewing online tutorials regarding their use/install.
3 The kingston ram I assume is a 2x2 kit and not a single 4gig chip. You would want the 2x2 so you can use the dual channel feature.

I just bought a new monitor to replace my old Samsung 191T LCD.

I want to pass on the 191T to my daughter, but the menu buttons on the screen don't work. I'd like to pass on a fully functional monitor. I took it apart and found that the flex ribbon cable connected to the PCB Assembly (for the panel menu buttons) was loose and one of the wires from the connection had broken off.

I essentially need that flex cable or preferably the entire flex cable and assembly.

I tried googling for LCD parts, but didn't really find anyone selling parts. In fact, several LCD repair places wouldn't sell parts. Anyone know where I can find parts besides eBay.

Can I take a Hard Drive and RAM from one computer and put it into another and how do I use both HHD one is 98 and the other is XP.On the 98 HHD I can't get online but can with the XP

Also in the computer with XP (thats the one I am wanting to put parts into) there are 3 slots for the memory how can i tell which sticks have more RAM So I can install more RAM

A:Take parts from one computer and put into another

You can install the ram ONLY if it is the correct type ie ddr1, ddr2, etc.

Next you can connect a drive to a working system and copy data files. If you think you will be able to boot the system from the drive you add, almost all of the time that will fail.
