Hi Got a new Y510P and everytime I open SpeedFan (when it scans my busses etc) I get a BSOD with the following msgs:driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (iastora.sys) I've googled a bit and that is the driver for the Intel Rapid Rapid Storage Technology (RST). I've updated the software for RST but same problem. The computer is working fine except this. Hi folks I'm new to the forums to please excuse me. I'm currently posting from my phone so when my laptop comes on I'll attach the debug file.

Basically I set my laptop to sleep instead of shutting it down and when I went back to resume my work (about 20 hours later) it was running very slow.

I was searching for my 'Calculator' but made a typo so I tried backspacing the letter but nothing happened. Chrome (which I had opened at the time) was unresponsive and so was my taskbar.

I waited a while to see if anything would happen but nothing did so I forced shut down.

I left it off for almost a half hour and when I put it on I got that error 'Unmountable_Boot_Volume' and it needed to restart and so it did but then the error came up again this time it did an automatic repair which lasted a few seconds then it was diagnosing which lasted a few seconds and then I got the following message:

Automatic Repair
Your PC did not start correctly.
Press restart to restart your PC which might sometimes fix the problem. You can also press Advance options to try other options to repair your PC.

I clicked restart and it did.. I got a black screen for a minute or two but I got to log in. But once again everything was moving slow so as the start menu seemed to be working I shut down the laptop. (It's currently off)

Can anyone assist me with this problem?
It would be really good if I can actually find out what's really wrong with my laptop.
Thanks.

BSOD-xperts:
I've suddenly been afflicted with BSOD's on my Lenovo Y510P running Win 8.1. Everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago and then I started experiencing multiple BSOD's to the point that I had to boot in SafeMode. After doing some research, it looked like the issues were related to video (NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M) and wireless/bluetooth drivers. I upgraded all of those and everything was fine for a week until this morning when I got another BSOD. After looking for the bug check that it reported, I stumbled on this forum and saw some excellent responses so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I downloaded BlueScreenView and ran that and I've attached the output. I have also attached output from the MiniToolBox tool. I also tried to upload the mini-dump files but I get a message saying I'm "not permitted to upload this kind of file" but I'm happy to do so if I'm allowed to.  Here is a link the output from the Speecy tool as well - http://speccy.piriform.com/results/j7BzfFXyiX3xHgrhWQqHjXV. Would someone be so kind as to give it a look and let me know your thoughts? Thanks!

Hello.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p and it has erratic BSOD behavior, usually after sleep mode, but not always. Would love to get to the bottom of it and appreciate any help you can provide!

I've attached the necessary file as per the BSOD posting instructions.

Thanks,
Alexander

A:BSOD on Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p, after sleep mode usually

Only 48 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 to 80 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available.

The memory dumps blame usbccgp.sys, but MSINFO32 lists ks.sys (kernel streaming of video driver)
And this seems to happen during a power down event (such as power off/hibernate/sleep/etc)

Finally, what applications do you delay using Startup Delayer?
What USB devices do you have connected?

I'm concerned about your version of Diskkeeper as it dates from Jan 2013 - well before Win8.1 was released.
Can you update it? If not, please uninstall it while we're troubleshooting.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

You may not find an update for this one, if so, just leave it be:

I am currently running the 358.50 version of GeForce drivers, however there are newer ones available (361.43). For some reason when I tried updating, my system got really unstable and eventually blue screened with KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. When I rebooted it was fine, until I tried to use a graphics intensive application (Photoshop) that caused my laptop to switch from Intel HD to NVidia. My computer locked up and crashed again. I booted into safe mode and rolled back the driver, but I need to install that driver eventually as I use this laptop for gaming and Photoshop.

Maybe another driver needs to be updated? Maybe it's my Intel driver? I couldn't find any issues comparable to mine so I'm assuming there is a conflict I can't find. Thanks for any help you can give me, I don't know much about how drivers work.

A:NVIDIA Driver causes system instability and BSOD in Lenovo Y510P

Exact same thing has happened to me with a Lenovo Y410p. I did a Windows 10 update yesterday and updated my drivers including my Nvidia driver and since then I have gotten three KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE BSOD when running graphic intensive applications like Photoshop or Illustrator. Today I did a fresh install of Windows to see if it fixed the problem and as soon as I tried launching a game I got the elusive orange screen of death with the same error.

It's now done it 4 times in the past 2 days. I only bought this computer 3 months ago and it's giving me this BSOD which is impossible to have at such a young age, I didn't spend so much money to have this **** happen to my computer. It's so ******* ******** and it's ******* me off.

Just had to release some stress there.

(First time) So I'm just browsing the internet, I have about 20 tabs open, I go to click play on a YouTube video- BAM BSOD! No questions asked. It stays on for about 4 seconds so I can hardly read any of it, however I did notice it said "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", and it was saying something at the bottom about dumping memory, then it went from something like 10 to 24 to 53 or something.

I have looked a little bit around the internet, and I did actually notice that my graphics card drivers were not upto date, so I updated them yesterday. Everything was going great until just now when it did it again, I wanted to play some Dark Crusade- BAM as soon as I double clicked it the shortcut it BSOD.. then I snapped and decided to make this post.

I really have no clue as to why it does it, hopefully that's something you guys can find out for me.

Computer Specs:

Windows Vista SP1 32bit
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
nVidia GTX260
3.00GB RAM
923GB HDD

I think that's all you need to know, but if I've forgotten something let me know, I'm too angry to remember everything right now.

Thank you.

A:Bsod, driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

Hi -

Your thread subject "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" belongs to bugcheck (STOP error) 0xd1 and means that a kernel-mode driver tried to access paged memory at a time when it should not have (IRQL too high) or the memory address it referenced was invalid (bad RAM).

I can run the dumps and see if any indications as to cause are present within. I'll need additional system information and of course the mini kernel dumps from the BSODs. An easy and painless task for you - please follow THESE instructions. Please post the resulting zip files to your next post.

Have you contacted the manufacturer? Is it still under warranty?

Hi

As a rule (though not always) if you cannot find a file name searching with Google then it is very likely malware or a virus.
Therefore I would like you to check for Viruses/Malware by starting a new thread in the Virus/Malware support section.

First you should read the "First Steps" document and gather all the required reports.
If you cannot complete any step, just skip it but be sure to include this information in your post
Then start a new thread in the virus/malware section and attach the reports you have created.

I have read many different forums, to no avail, the stop error is 0x000000D1. the answers im finding are that a driver is accessing random high memory. it happens all the time in normal mode, and only occasionally in safe mode. I was able to get into the device manager before the BSOD and found that there are 4 drivers not installed. The VGA, NIC, and 2 base system devices, i have tried to load these in both normal and safe mode but it blue screens before it finishes the install. I tried to do an inplace upgrade but someone in microsofts design team decided that it will not let you do it in safe mode. and guess what the machine blue screens before the cd will run in normal mode.

I got this from a closed post here on this forum:

That bugcheck (0xd1) means that a driver trying to access invalid memory.
If you're somewhat technical, you could potentially figure out what you're
doing when this happens and hope to guess which driver this.(what im doing is just powering on the machine) If you're very
technical, you could put this under the debugger and get the stack for when
this is happening, which should indicate the bad driver.(the event viewer is pointing toward the Network card) If you're not very
technical, your local computer shoppe - or the people that sold you this -
could potentially try to determine why you're getting a
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error.

Any Help would be grateful.

I've been getting a BSOD lately, I'm not really sure what's causing it. Three have occurred so far. Currently I'm installing drivers for my video card, chipset, and sound card, to see if that helps at all.

My computer was just purchased, the only new hardware I added was a mouse, headphones, and a USB wireless adapter. I highly doubt the mouse or headphones would cause any problems though.

My OS is Vista 64 Home Premium.

Edit: Just uploaded the permon and TSF Support info.

A:Bsod: Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

If you use administrative tools and the look in event viewer the bsod event should be recorded there and this will hopefully give info about which device is causing the issue.
If your laptop has a dialup modem I would try disabling this.
If this does not help then disconnect all usb dongles and see if the bsod events continue.
If the comouter is ok like this then add usb devices one at a time ( use the computer for a while) until the bsod returns. As you are using 64 bit vista make sure that your usb device drivers are 64 bit compatible

My comp has crashed twice giving me BSOD. I hoped yesterday that it was just a one time thing, but sure enough it happened again today. Nothing in particular seems to set them off (the first time I was browsing the web, today I was playing Mass Effect). I'm guessing the problem stems from a dated driver, but afaik everything is up to date.

Normally I try to solve my own problems, but I don't know how to run a debug program. Attached is the contents of my Minidump folder. If you need more information please let me know.

On December 27, 2009 you had 5 STOP 0x124 BSOD's (usually hardware or compatibility issues)
Then you were BSOD free until yesterday (January 9, 2010) when you had a STOP 0xD1- a period of 13 days.
Info on the STOP 0x124: BSOD Index
Info on the STOP 0xD1: BSOD Index

What did you do to the system after the December BSOD's? This is probably more important than the analysis of the dump file(s).

The last dump file points to the Windows kernel, which isn't usually a factor (if it was, you'd have a lot more problems than just an occasional BSOD). So, let's see what was done to the system and if we can't find anything, then we'll try running Driver Verifier.

Please update or remove these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager. Please use the following instructions to locate the most current drivers:

Quote:
How To Find Updated Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

Hello, and thank you for reading.

I am running Windows XP Home (SP2) on a Gateway MX6214 notebook. I've had a history of problems with the system, and recently (~1 month ago) I re-installed Windows for a whole host of reasons. If I remembered them in more detail, I'd explain them here.

My current problem began in the past 4 days, shortly after my Google search results began to get hijacked in Chrome.

I have had repeated BSODs saying "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and the machine reboots before I get a chance to read the rest of the message and look for other helpful info. I am happy to post the minidumps, and to DL and run HJT, but was not sure exactly what information would be most helpful and how best to present it.

Sometimes I get the BSOD after a period of use (hours, minutes, anywhere in between), but almost every time that it happens, it will reboot, and recur, and reboot, and recur-- at least twice, often 3x.

Trying not to panic, but because I am pretty sure that I've had malware problems before me recent reinstall, and because I suspect I do not typically run strong enough security, I'm worried about the integrity of my system. I need the computer to work properly for my job, as does pretty much everybody else on here.

Thank you again for taking the time to read this, and for any help or guidance you can offer. I'll keep looking for similar topics, but from what I've read I suspect this is a very specific thing & am reluct... Read more

If it is only 2 months old contact Acer as it must be under warranty, anything you do might cause Acer to reject the warranty conditions.

Hi Everyone,

I am getting a blue screen error of DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL which frequently occur most of the time. I tried to fix it on my own but didn't worked. What I have done so far is to:- Run a check disk
- Defrag my laptop
- Increase the paging file (recommended amount of the System)

So yeah, I tried all that I know (so far) but still can't fix the issue, can you guys check on this instead?

Thanks!

Hi irGed.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

If it does not show any error, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Hi guys,
I've been having a bad problem recently. Basically, completely randomly and without warning, with no user input, It BsoDs on me and i get 1 of 2 error messages.
The first is:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0X000000D1 (0XF7AEE230,0X00000002, 0X00000001, 0XF781BBEB)
RNDISMP.SYS ADDRESS F781BBEB base at F7817000 DateStamp 4802 5770

Beginning dump of Physical Memory
Physical Memory dump complete

The second is another similar one, (haven't had a chance to write it down) which is WIN32K.SYS. When this one happens, the graphics interfere with the screen and I get a jumbled mess.
I've been having this for a few days now
I've got a plug and play keyboard and mouse in the rear USB slots, and a BT Voyager 1055 Wireless USB dongle in the front. From reading similar problems, it seems it could be that.
Really want this sorted soon I am ok at following stuff, and i'm ok with computers
Thanks

Good evening to you all!

Greetings aside; my computer has been crashing a lot recently, After a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate (x64 bit). I get a:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (BC Code d1) often
and also
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (BC Code a) every now and again

I generally get the Driver BSoD whilst gaming and IRQL BSoD when just browsing the net and listening to music. It seems to be more frequent when I have thing plugged in to the front external USB's.

Oh, and I will attatch a minidump of a Driver IRQL asap but I'm capped at the moment and it's taking ages to download PeaZip.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I've been receiving this blue screen error when I try running Disk Clean-up. It's very odd. I checked the IRQ assignments, and there doesn't seem to be any conflicting problems. Here's a pic of my IRQs:

Like I said, it happens when I run Disk Clean-up and I think occasionaly it would happen while playing Warcraft III. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

Hello,

I was getting frequent BSODs on my PC, sometimes occurring within minutes of switching on the PC, occasionally after a few hours.

My PC is a Mesh (not sure of the model) - the OS is Windows XP Home with SP3, the processor is an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ and it has 512 MB of RAM. Probably not needed but the graphics card is a GeForce 6600 GT.

I haven't used the computer since the end of last year. I've now switched it on to recover some photos and having realised it would produce a mini dump from the last crash back in December I decided to finally debug the dump file. Here is my output. It seems as though there may be a driver issue (is that right?). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Ian

A:BSOD - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Background reading: http://blogs.msdn.com/ndis/archive/2006/11...s-or-equal.aspxI don't see anything that points to a specific driver, so I can't hazard a guess what the problem might be.FWIW: http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windows/t-7...tkrnlpaexe.htmlBased on that link and the non-specification of a given driver...I suggest running Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool - http://www.memtest.org/#downiso I would run Memtest86+ for a minimum of an hour, but probably through a complete cycle. A cycle takes about 2.5 hours on this system I'm on.In the event of any errors, note the error (write down the details reflected onscreen). Any errors indicate a potential RAM problem.LouisOne other thing which you can do is Disable Auto Reboot On System Crash - http://www.theeldergeek.com/auto_reboot_on_system_crash.htm Doing that might possibly provide more details of BSODs in Event Viewer.

We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept. However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more susceptible to infections. It is probably contributing to your current situation.

IMO, uninstall BitTorrent. Sorry, we will not support this type of program.

Hello.

My computer has been crashing a few times lately. It seems that games run fine until some point where my computer simply crashes.

The BSOD gives me the message: BSOD Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal

And the following STOP message: 0x000000D1

It also says something about "iaStor.sys". Hope you can help :)

iastor.sys = Intel storage drivers

Go to system manufacturer support site and check for driver update.

Or try - http://www.sysnative.com/drivers/dri...?id=iaStor.sys

- the original installed OS on the system? Yes
Full retail

- What is the age of system (hardware)? Around 3 years.
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 10 months or so I think.

For some reason it only seemed to happen when I downloaded something.

Hi There,

Your single dump file is blaming Symantec Firewall driver,

Code:
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for wpsdrvnt.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for wpsdrvnt.sys
Probably caused by : wpsdrvnt.sys ( wpsdrvnt+4bd2 )

Followup: MachineOwner
Driver Reference Table - wpsdrvnt.sys

You can check for an update or stop using it for now and use windows firewall.

This is the preferred method for uploading info,

Additional information is required.

1. Download this file to your desktop or other convenient location,

2. Double click on the file to run it.

3. Locate the .ZIP file created on your desktop, and upload it here in your next reply.

A:Bsod - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

These two were blamed on netio.sys and usually when that happens it is because of the malware app. In your case it is almost a certainty because McAffee is known to cause BSOD's

McAffee is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST!

Hi and welcome

This one is pretty straight forward. This crash was probably caused by your network driver (netw5v64.sys).

I would download and install a fresh copy
also run a system file check
type cdm in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow

Let us know the results

Hello

I was doing some video editing on Sony Vegas 12.0 when my computer crashed to this BSOD. I was too worried about losing about 5 hours worth of video editing, so I restarted and opened the auto-save that Sony Vegas had saved. My computer instantly crashed again with the same error. After this, I thought it must have been my Sony Vegas file.

However, after I had a shower and dinner, I reopened the file again, and there was no crash. It's been over an hour now and still no BSOD. After I did a sfc /scannow using command prompt, and came up with an error. (shown in the attachment)

So how do I fix this problem, or prevent it from happening again?

note: Bluescreenview says the first crash has something to do with "BOOTVID.dll" and "ntoskrnl.exe". While the second crash was affiliated with "atikmdag.sys", "dxgkrnl.sys", and "ntoskml.exe"

I was running Sony Vegas 12.0, Google Chrome (about 7 tabs) and Word 2010.

Thank you for your time.

My specs:
Sony Vaio laptop SVE14A35CG (in use since 28 Feb 2013 - still in warranty, but I'm told that Sony is notorious for dodging warranties)

AMD Radeon HD 7570m/7670m + Intel HD 4000
8GB of DDR3 RAM

EDIT:
Just crashed again. Bluescreenview says the same problem as the second crash caused the third.

I get this error message anytime I attempt to burn a cd or dvd. I have ran MemTest86+ and let it make 10 passes, and the hard drive as well as the RAM test fine. What can I do to help further assist in diagnosing this error? Also, I just ran a full scan of malwarebytes in safe mode and it turned up no issues.

I am running a Toshiba Satellite P755-S5320 64 bit OS and 6 GB of Ram with a 600 GB Hard Drive, if that is helpful.

I've seen a few threads regarding this issue, and it seems to be fairly common, but I have yet to find a solution that works for me.

Basically, I get the BSoD ten minutes or so after turning the PC on. At first it only happened two or three times, then stopped, but now it's every time. Sometimes I get different blue screen errors, and sometimes it just restarts with no warning at all. Virus scans come up empty, and running in safe mode makes no difference.

Attached are the two minidump files I have managed to transfer from the affected computer. If anyone could take a look and suggest a way for me to fix this problem, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi I'm new to this and am looking for some help with my blue screen issue. I've recently had a variety of BSOD at seemingly random times when playing 3D games, but after reloading some drivers, etc I'm now getting just this one below. I haven't had a BSOD outside of a game.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
***STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x0000005B, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xb44b8C18)

***RthHDAud.sys - Address B44B8C18 base at B432B000, DateStamp 4C500035

I've tried removing and reinstalling the realtek driver with no luck and I've run a memtest and it didn't find any errors. From searching around for solutions it seems like the best thing I could do at this point is ask for advice. I've attached the minidump folder since i've seen people asking for them in similar situations.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I am running windows 8.1 and I have gotten three of these crashes in the past 8 days. My computer feels laggier after restarting and it takes a while for the login screen to show up. I am attaching the three dumps and the system info files extracted with the forum tool. The last dump has volmgr.sys mentioned, however before the system rebooted I remember L1C63x64.sys mentioned as well on the blue screen. The system froze on the last blue screen and I had to manually reboot.

Thanks, jj12

Hi

The BSOD always seems to blame the Ethernet driver.

Code:

*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for L1C63x64.sys
Probably caused by : L1C63x64.sys ( L1C63x64+6cb3 )

But it seems to be happen only when "utorrent" is downloading.

Code:
GetUlongFromAddress: unable to read from fffff8027aebb310Owning Process ffffe0000629f080 Image: uTorrent.exe

This particular blue screen issue is very common if torrent clients are present in the system. Please uninstall utorrent as a test and report how the system works (don't install any other torrent clients).

Im get an increasing amounts of BSOD nearly all driver_irql_not_less_or_equal errors. I've done a number of things I have search through forums but with no success.

I suspect it to be my wireless adapter, it isn't windows 7 compatible but works using a Ralink software. I have already tried re-installing the software and drivers but still get BSOD.

My specs:

Five different types of crashes. All seem to point to hardware BUT I suspect it is your Symantec that is truly causing the problems.

I would remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials

Hello,
I've got a constant problem with my problem. About once every 2 days I get a BSOD. The message is always driver_irql_not_less_or_equal .
I did a system file check but it gave nothing ("Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.").
I included the dumpfile, if anyone could check it, because I have no idea why I'm getting all those blue screens.. I'm not over-clocking or anything.

presumably this is a continuation of the errors you where posting two weeks ago here

this error is showing as DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and in windows debugger it is blaming USBPORT.SYS

Hi Murad123.

Go to Realtek .... download the second item of the list "Win7 and Server 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program" and install it.

Uninstall McAfee Security Scan plus. Never get it again, be careful during updating Flash Player.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

Hey

I have been getting a lot of BSOD's lately while im gaming, it just shuts my pc down and you can see it making a memory dump. The bsod message is: Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal

When I look up the cause in the windows logs it show a kernel-power critical error and after that a bugcontrol fault message like: De computer is opnieuw opgestart na een bugcontrole. MSINFO32 report shows 5 memory dumps:
2 - STOP 0x1A
3 - STOP 0x3B

Of these 5, 2 blame the afwcore.sys driver (the others blame Windows components) - a component of your Outpost firewall.
Please uninstall the Outpost firewall, then follow these directions to remove any remnants of it: http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum...ead.php?t=7173

You can use this free firewall control tool for the Windows Firewall if you must have finer firewall control: http://www.sphinx-soft.com/Vista/

Hi,

I've started having trouble with a BSOD that seems to be popping up randomly. This has started happening recently.

My specs:

OS: Windows 7 x64 (full retail version)
Age: I built the system about 4 years ago. Never reinstalled OS.
CPU: AMD Phenom II 1055t (running stock 2.8, but I plan to overlock it later)

Motherborad: ASUS M4A89TD Pro
Power Supply: 850W (it's branded, but can't remember exact name. Will look inside if need be).

Video Card: Radeon HD 6950.
RAM: 12gigs

The only thing that I can think of that I've done recently which may be related to this BSOD, is that I uninstalled and then reinstalled the latest version of the catalyst drivers for my video card.

In addition, for a while my computer wouldn't even boot up because of a conflict with my RAM sticks. I removed the sticks then inserted them back in, only changing up which sticks I put into which slot and now that problem has disappeared.

I've attached the .rar of my report as per the instructions in the sticky.

Any guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

The dumps collected by the app here are ~3 years old. Please ensure all these settings check out:

1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.

2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives'.

3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system log'.

Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.

4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:

Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.

If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.

Regards,

Patrick

I'm having issues with my computer and I was told that you guys may be able to help?

In regards to the P: - I've got three 232 Gb drives which are in RAID, but I think I may have bust that when I was trying to fix something else - anyway, I don't use these drives.  Unsure if there are a cause of the problem but thought I'd mention it.

The issues really happen when I'm playing any games, Farcry 3 has been particularly crashy recently.  The computer seemingly crashes at other random points when I'm not playing games too, but not as often.

Hey guys, I recently bought a 2nd hand Alienware ALX that was supposedly barely used, but after getting it I keep getting BSODs. I was hoping someone could help.

It runs Windows 7 64 bit. The crashing can happen anytime, it happened 3 times while I was reinstalling windows on it, it happens when I play games, and it can happen if I'm doing something as simple as watching youtube. Usually in a single day it'll crash maybe 5-10 times. I haven't observed it crashing while idle.

At first, the BSOD's were giving "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" and "Uncorrectable hardware error", so I tried running a diagnostic on the memory (memtest) and hdd (seatools) but no problems seems to have occurred. I also used the alienware command center tool to verify all the fans and liquid cooling was functioning. Temperature in the PC is between 29-31 degrees C. I also tried swapping out 1 ram stick at a time and swapping out the HDD, crashing still occurred.

Once that found nothing, I tried upgrading the chipset and bios drivers. Although the BSODs still happen, the error is different now. I have copy pasted below the debug output from windbg. Could someone more familiar with windows stuff give me a few suggestions?

Thanks!

Hoping to find a fix for a problem I've had since I got this new laptop a few months ago. Regardless of what I'm doing, at random I'll get a BSOD with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL reported as the culprit by Windows 10 and BlueScreenView. The driver causing the trouble is ETD.SYS.

I believe it's related to the ELAN touchpad. Another forum (here: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/66642-seemingly-random-bsod-driver-irql-etd-sys.html) suggests a solution for this exact problem, but I have no idea what model to choose in the site that solution links to. My touchpad driver is 11.15.0.16_X64 - I think previously it was 15 point something but I rolled back to 11 on advice I read somewhere, but it's made no difference.

I've attached the files it says to, and the other details are below. I hope that's anything. Hope someone can help!

· OS - Windows 10· x64· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7· Windows 7 was CD version, 10 is the online upgrade· Age of system (hardware) - 6 months· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? Moved to Windows 10 a couple of months ago· CPU - Intel i7-4710MQ· Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce 940M· MotherBoard - says 'not available' in the system information· System Manufacturer - just says 'Notebook'· Exact model number - W650SB or W65_67SB· Laptop

I recently built a new computer and installed Vista64. Ever since it was built I get random BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP Xd1
tcpip.sys. In trying to resolve the problem I have gone thru all my drivers several times. I have a gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R 2.1 mother board, 8GB DDR2 Gskill memory. Nvidia 8800GTS video card. I rolled back the lan driver to the latest version per the gigabyte web site. I also redownloaded the driver and installed it so that I covered all the bases. I do have mini dumps if someone can decipher. It doesn't seem to happen in safe mode with networking support. Last night it happened with Vista booted in normal mode with the network cable pulled out. I have IPconfig listings from safe mode and normal mode.. There are some differences there..

Any help would be appreciated..

I'm not sure why my computer is crashing with this error, it seems to happen randomly. It has happened Twice in the past few days so it isn't much of a bother, I just want to know why.

I have attached the Minidump file to this post, I was only downloading something on uTorrent and playing Minecraft when it crashed.

It displays WDF01000.sys is the issue on the BSOD.
Any help is appreciated, but note that I am not willing to download a bunch of random programs. Only from reputable sources.

Hello!
I've had it once before and it was McAffe's fault. It came back and I'm not sure what it is now. Besides this issue, my computer also randomly turns off by itself sometimes with no error messages, I think they're related. I updated my system specs and am posting the kernel dump (is that what it's called?) If I'm doing something wrong, please explain I'll try to do my best.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I've been having "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal" BSOD's for the last few months. Only seems to happen in games (any game).

It originally started as a stop:0x0000007F code but changed into the driver_irql_not_less_or_equal with the code 0x000000d.

Attached you should find the Sysnative BSOD Dump + System File Collection App .zip file and the system health report.

My system is as follows. (custom built)
OS: Win7 Pro 64bit full retail version.
System is approx 3 years old (some components newer than others)
OS was re-installed about 12 months ago
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition
RAM: 16GB G-Skill F3-12800CL9 RAM
MOBO: MSI 890FXA - GD70
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 290x
PSU: Thermaltake 850w Toughpower.

Any help would really be appreciated - I have been meaning to test the RAM but haven't got around to it yet (in the process of moving interstate) so I though I could give this a go in the meantime.

Yell out if I need to supply more info.

Thanks heaps,

Dan

recently installed a cheap geforce 210 to replace integrated graphics.
got bsod on first boot, so i removed 2 ram stick, and it worked.
updated drivers for graphics card and it works fine.
however, when i put the 2gb ram back in, bsod.
so at the moment i am just running 2gb ram and the graphics card.
i have removed all the integrated graphics drivers, even though i assume they will disable when new graphics card went it.
my bios is set to pci-e load up.
i have used WinDbg to analyse .dmp file, however i dont really know what to look for.
any help would be really appreciated! this is really annoying me.

When i do use the WinDbg i get

Your debugger is not using the correct symbols ***
*** ***
*** In order for this command to work properly, your symbol path ***
*** must point to .pdb files that have full type information.

Probably caused by Ntfs.sys ( Ntfs+ab000 )

Now the problem has changed, by installing sp1, the bsod has changed to system service exception?

Hi, I have Windows 7 professional installed on my PC which has various hard driver. Whenever my PC became slow. I would reinstall the whole system this would make it run like new. Recently my PC started freezing in midst of programs. So I thought that I will do the same that I have always done. Did a complete back up and then went to reinstall the back up. I wanted to install windows in a completly new drive and not in the partition of a bigger drive. Hence I formatted the drive I wanted windows to go in. It is a Hitachi 500GB. After the Win 7 OS program started running it asked me where to install the new version of windows. I formatted the partition on which the previous version was installed (hence I did no have any OS on the PC at that moment in time). And after that I asked it to install it on Hitachi 500 GB drive. So, I own an Alienware Area-51 7500. Since the first time I got the computer, I always had my share of BSOD and random freezes. Even though I would try to resolve the problems with them, I would only get adviced to do a clean Windows Installation, which was the case the second day I got the computer. Since then, the freezes and BSODs have been up and down but lately it had been increasing. There were even instances of failed XP boots, resulting in me doing several Dskchk /r to solve the issues. Well, after going through all this, I decided to take one of my 1 gig ram sticks out, and the problem has significantly decreased. I have yet to have a failing XP boot, and the amount of freezing has nearly vanished. But in the rare instances when it does crash, it actually shows a BSOD that I didn't see before, which states;
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0X00000D1 (0X06A80018, 0X00000002, 0X00000001, 0X7C911713). The earlier BSOD's were 'Kernel' related and this one is not. I really would like to know what is wrong with this computer, and I am aware that I am not giving all that much information, and for that excuse me. I mainly would like to know if the ram stick I took out was indeed truly faulty, if not, I would definitely like to go back to having 2 gigs of ram.

Thank you for your time and your help

I was merely browsing a website I usually go to and the next thing i get is this BSOD. It was my first time getting it so i followed instructions which said if this is your first time restart. So I restart the computer after it had finished dumping physical memory and then I realise that my computer won't boot up. The power goes on and the machine makes a noise but it doesnt 'beeb' like it usually does to indicate that it is loading. My monitor just says out of range but i don't think my computer is actually loading. Its like the lights are on but nobodies home!

I've been having this BSOD error lately. It started happening about a week and a half ago. I've been trying to detect a pattern, but there seems to be none. Sometimes it crashes, reboots to the login screen, and crashes again before I ever log in. It seemed to start happening more often after I installed SP1, but that could be my imagination.

Until this time, I never had any problems with chronic BSODs. I've been trying to come up with something major that might have changed in the past month but I can't think of anything specific.

Here is the system's specs

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
It is the original OS that came with the system.
I reinstalled the OS in late February after it crashed and Startup Repair couldn't fix it.
I bought the system in November 2009, making it a little under a year and a half old.

CPU: Intel i7 960 at 3.20 Ghz/3.20 Ghz
Video Card: Dual GeForce GTX 260
Motherboard: Not sure where to check for this info
Power Supply: 525W

Manufacturer: Dell
Serial: F52YVH1 -- I can't find the serial but this is the Dell Service Tag. Hopefully that works instead.

Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!

I was refered from the Norton Forums after I complained about my computer crashing twice and giving me the BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.  I use sfc /scannow and got no errors and my Norton said if that came up with no errors I might have a infection in my wdf01000.sys file.  Anyways I would like to get this situation resolved because I need my computer for College work.  I think I got the log files right after a few minutes too.

Hello!

I have a problem with a certain type of bluescreens coming out of nowhere, short time after I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7. All my drivers are downloaded from the manufacturer site, and up to date, included my BIOS version.

The two first bluescreens appeared when I was playing Half-Life 2, and the third I was doing nothing.

I have googled and read some treads in this forum, but I can't find a solution. Any help appreciated. Attached my minidumps below.

Thanks.

edit: Also, I've run a memtest and there was no errors.

Hi,

I was wondering if I could get some help with the BSOD I keep getting. I read the BSOD posting instructions written by jcgriff2, but wasn't able to follow them. My laptop wouldn't stay on long enough for me to follow the instructions (I'm currently using an old Hp laptop to make this post).

I lent my laptop to a friend over the weekend and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but, when i started up my computer this morning I got a alert from windows defender that detected a Trojan called Win32/Renos.PJ. I selected the remove button and it said it was successfully removed.
After that the computer restarted by itself and windows defender alerted me again that the same Trojan was still on the laptop. I ran Malwarebytes to see if it would find anything and it did, but, the laptop wouldn't stay on long enough for the scan to complete and remove what was detected. I think the BSOD started popping up after the 3rd time i restarted my computer.

Here is what i could find out about my laptop:

Title.

I had a game up and running while I was at school, when I got home there was a bsod with that.

Now I can't run windows normally. Everytime I reset the computer, it goes to that while loading the windows xp screen. All I can do is run in safe mode, with limited access to everything.

Any help would be great!

I can't do anything on this except google -.-
I included what I think you need from the mini dump file.

Hi -

The most recent memory dump in the zip attachment = 9 March 2012.

When was the last BSOD?

The last 15 dumps - late January - 9 March....
- 2 - name Avast as the probable cause
- 13 - have bugcheck 0xce = driver failed to cancel pending operations before unloading; no 3rd party driver is named

Remove Avast w/ remioval tool - http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN146

Reboot upon completion. Install Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), if possible.

Run memtest86+ - http://www.techsupportforum.com/2863029-post5.html

Run SysInternals AutoRuns - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s...rnals/bb963902

It is a stand-alone executable and can run in Safemode. Use it (or msconfig) and start disabling 3rd party drivers 1-by-1 - see if you can isolate a driver. If not, hardware failure is the likely cause.

msconfig - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310560

A:BSOD Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

System continues to intermittently hang/freeze requiring power reset, but also occasionally reboots.

Memory test was OK
Fans running

Today saw screen flicker and:
"THXAudio has stopped working"
"Display driver AMD stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
About 20 minutes later the system rebooted self.

I ran Driver Verifier yesterday and the last minidump appears to have been a few days before on 5/17. I will try to upload the minidump.

Grateful for some help....

Hi,

A friend of mine suggested me this page, and I hope you guys can help me with this problem. My PC keeps giving me the BSOD randomly, sometimes when I play games, or when I tab or swap pages. Been looking for any solution to stop. I copied all the .dmp files manually from C:\WINDOWS\Minidump and attach them as zip.

I also took a picture with my cellphone. It is not a recently BSOD but I thought this might help somehow. Hope the language is not a problem.

I would suggest testing the memory for several passes using Memtest86+ Advanced Memory Diagnostics.

You will need to create a boot disc and run for several passes.

Make sure Windows is fully updated using Windows Update.

Please help me. I have a blue screen and I don't know how to fix It. Please help explain what this error is and what I can do to fix it. Also I have tries starting in safe mode and it takes mebto user login. Then straight back to bsod when I log on. I have also tried restoring back a few months ago from the advanced boot options. But half way through the restore it says it cannot load a perticularly file for the restore. Something to do with nvidia suggesting its the video card driver. I have no idea what my options are. I really need the contents of my computer for work. I would appreciate any advise I can get. Cheers.

Hello,

There doesn't seem to be any reason why, but BSOD randomly happens with the error of DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have run malwarebytes and superantispyware and cleaned up all malware they found. I can't start disk check - error says it can't start it. Also system restore and disk defrag are not working. I did a hijack this log but wasn't sure if I needed to post this or not?

Please help! I'm running Win XP.

Thank you.

Hi kiho, and to BleepingComputer!Do NOT post a HijackThis log or anything like that here!! That will result in this topic being moved to the misplaced logs section. HJT logs are not allowed outside the HJT forum.Because a BSOD can have all kind of causes, we have to start looking what can cause them.First of all, can you please post me the logs of Malwarebytes antimalware and Super Antispyware (not new ones, but the ones in which I can see what malware was removed). For the MBAM log, please open Malwarebytes Antimalware, and look on the logs tab. Please post me the log that shows what malware was removed. For the SAS log, please open Super Antispyware. Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.If there are several logs, click the log in which removed/detected items are listed and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor. Please click start > run, and type devmgmt.msc in the box that opens, press enter.Look in the list that opens if there are any devices that have an ! or an ? in front of them and post them here.We Need to check for Rootkits with RootRepealDownload RootRepeal from the following location and save it to your desktop.Zip Mirrors (Recommended)

Hi, I got a refurbished Asus G73SW laptop about 6 months ago and around 1-2 months later I started having issues with the build-in lan adapter, it just stopped working. Tried re-installing drivers and what not but could not get the lan adapter to work so I got a USB Lan adapter to use in its place.

I started getting BSODs around the same time so I decided to try windows 8 consumer preview and wasn't getting any BSODs for 2-3 months until yesterday they started happening again (System did hang like once a couple weeks but no BSOD ). Not axactly sure what has changed to cause the BSODs to start again.

I briefly turned on the buildin WIFI for a min before turning it off yesterday. soon afterwards the BSODs started happening. I haven't touched the WIFI in months so might have something to do with the BSODs.

I checked the windows auto update log and only recent updates were definition updates for MSE. I haven't installed anything new in awhile.
There is no option to disable the buildin lan in the bios

Hi forums,

This issue has been bugging me for awhile now. This blue screen happens only when I am streaming to Twitch using OBS. I noticed that the issue usually occurs when I leave the TwitchAlerts desktop app open. However, I believe that I did not have it open today. After doing some research, I believe it is the network driver that is causing the issue. However, it seems that it is up to date according to the Atheros website that I visited. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is most likely a graphics card issue but there are enough other issues that I'd suggest that you fix them first.

Please uninstall Daemon Tools as it has issues with Win7 on some systems. Feel free to reinstall it after we're done troubleshooting. It's in your startups, but I wasn't able to find it in the installed programs list.

Please remove or update these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager.
Please use the following instructions to locate the most currently available drivers to replace the one's that you uninstall OR remove:

Quote:

How To Find Drivers:
- I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box below. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
