Y510p Screen Green at Certain Angles

Q: Y510p Screen Green at Certain Angles

Recently, my Y510p screen has begun to change some pixels colors (green and purple) based on how far I open the lid of the laptop. Currently, I cannot open the lid past approximately 90 degrees or the screen's color will change. Websites are still readable, I believe that it has something to do with the connections in the joints of the laptop, but I am not positive.

Here is a picture of the lenovo website with the issue occurring.

Link to picture

Some extra information:

Laptop Age: ~ 5 months
Never been dropped
College Use (Usually kept on desk in dorm room)
Light travel in backpack
Always closed lid on shutdown
I do have a warranty plan, if nothing can be done, worst case I can send my computer back.

If anyone else has been having this issue and been able to have it fixed, please chime in with what was causing your problems.

A: Y510p Screen Green at Certain Angles

Hello, I know this post is very old but I would love to know how you fixed the problem or if you returned the laptop. I have been having this problem for like 6 months or even more, but now it's become so bad that I almost have no LCD angle position where I don't get these pin/green/red dots. They move with the video or pictures and I believe there are only certain colors that trigger this problem. But now, it's become worse so I get this problem at nearly all the colors. I personally believe the problem is in the screen connector, because it depends on screen tilt position. Also, when this problem started, when I pressed the laptop near the LCD hinge on the right side, the dots disappeared or reduced. But now, almost nothing helps. There's just like 1 or 2 very precise LCD tilt positions where I get very less such green/red/pink dots. This is my first post/reply and I had to make an account just to ask this question! Hoping to hear from you and the community.

Hi guys

I am having a problem deducing the issue with a friend's laptop.

It's a Toshiba Equium U400, not sure the rest of the specs are relevant.

Basically the screen ONLY works if it is angled all the way back. And it works 100% perfectly fine in this position. However, if you try to angle the screen down (in a closing direction), the screen will immediately turn white. You can then tilt the screen backwards again and press FN+F5 (shortcut for alternate display) and it will flash back to life again.

I assume that it is a cable connection issue? And would rule out faulty LCD/inverter if it works at one angle?

I have tried researching this and have only found issues where the screen turns black, not white.

I don't have my screwdrivers with me and cannot open the screen yet to check connections. I am just curious if anyone knows if this behaviour is linked to motherboard, etc.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Josh

A:Laptop screen turns white at most angles

The LCD video cable is being pinched by one of the top hinges. It may be permanently damaged and will have to be replaced

Found a possible fix (workaraound) of the famous screen flicker problem. I've tried all of the proposed fixes found anywhere on the web and nothing worked for more than 5 minutes. I also sent it to be serviced, came back even worse.The screen would go crazy when showing high contrast images with a lot of black. The flicker was most prominent when testing the pixel-walk(inversion) on this website:http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.phpIf you have the same problem, try applying pressure on the LCD frame in one of the corners. In my case the flicker went away. I put a piece of fabric between the plastic and the metal LCD frame and after some fiddling I managed to find a sweet spot with no flicker.My laptop is y510p with 755M SLI and FullHD screen.Try at your own risk!Cheers

A:y510p screen flicker FIX!

Ok, I have an update. The flickering can be fixed with a bit of DIY. There's a band cable attaching the display circuit to the metal frame holding the LCD. This band is glued with some sort of conductive glue that goes bad over time, messing up the electronics somehow, I guess preventing the capacitors from discharging properly, dunno.Try and make your own conductive band, I made mine using aluminum tape, it works very well. No flicker noticeable for over a week.Once again, try at your own risk.

Hi there. I'm just hoping that I can find the solution as soon as possible. So I tried playing some casual games yesterday and all of a sudden the game froze and the image started tearing apart. Next thing you know it, the screen went blank. So I force shut down it and reboot, but after the Lenovo logo, the screen goes blank. There's a faint glow, but there's no image or cursor. Could it possibly be that the GPU crashed and there's no graphic to power the display? Or should I try entering Recovery Mode or Safe Mode to switch the display graphic to Intel HD? Besides, how do I enter Safe/Recovery Mode since I'm on Windows 10. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, I've been having troubles with my laptop screen. Upon reopening my laptop from sleep mode, the screen remains black instead of loading up the login screen. I've plugged in an HDMI external monitor and it displays fine so I know it is the laptop screen. Also if I restart the laptop, the laptop screen works fine. I've tried updating graphics drivers and adjusting external monitor options (Win+P) but with no success. Any suggestions on what I should do? I've had this laptop for a while now and there is no valid warranty.Thank you

Hi All,

I purchased my y510p (GT755M SLI) in July of this year from Newegg.com and I am having similar issues as described in this thread.

In my case, the issues usually begin 45 minutes after startup and persist until I turn off the laptop for several hours; and then the cycle repeats. After 45 minutes, my display begins "flash" white screens for fractions of a second, oscillate on dark shades of blue/grey, and also display vertical colored bars (similar to the videos posted in this thread). I have identified several ways I can quiclkly replicate the issues: (1) setting the brightness to the max setting, (2) visiting websites with dark grey backgrounds (hbogo.com, for example), (3) watching video in either windowed or fullscreen.

Some other things I wanted to note:
-I discovered by chance that when I apply light-moderate pressure to a certain spot underneath my laptop (on the underside of where the "x" and "c" keys are on my keyboard), the problem disappears. This leads me to believe it is a hardware issue or loose component.
-The problem does not appear on external displays, only on the laptop.
-I have already sent my laptop to lenovo for a repair and the screen was replaced. The issue resurfaced after the second or third use.
-Problem ranges from a few infrequent flashes of vertical bars to full screen mayhem.
-An electrical sound can be heard near the LCD, as if there isnt enough energy to power it completely.

A:Re: Y510P Screen Flashing, Flickering, Random Colo...

I just bought a Y510p and the screen flickers on certain colours. On Lagom  the flicker is very strong on 7b. The screen is 1366 x 768. I actually wanted to lower resolution screen as I've got a few older programs like photoshop which don't scale and my eye site isn't great. Is there anyway to fix it? If not, do all of the Y510p laptop screens have the same problem? I'll probably send it back but I really like the laptop otherwise so would love to get another one if the flickering was fixed. Thanks for the help in advance!

Seems like ever since the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers update (I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think it's the case), my screen stays black upon being woken up from sleep or hibernation. I know it's on, and it's not a matter of the computer being slow, because it's not, and even if it were, leaving it on for many minutes and it remains blank, and the power button and keyboard and everything light up and it starts heating up, so I know it's doing something. Hitting FN-F2 for the backlight does nothing, so I don't think that's the issue. The only way to resolve it is to hold down the power button and reboot, which **bleep**ing pisses me off because sometimes I have important work up and am forced to lose it. Anyone else seeing this issue? Could it be related to the new graphics drivers, or is this something worse and hardware related? My screen seems A-OK when it comes to everything else. Thank you!

Hi everyone, I've had a Lenovo Y510P with SLI 750m's for about 1 year and 3 months now. 2 weeks ago (around the time I upgraded to Windows 10). My laptop suddenly is unable to boot for the most part.When I press power, it hangs on the initial blank screen, with no logo pop-up. I have managed to get it to boot before, just simply by restarting over and over, but it's been 3 days and no luck now. It simply stays on a blank screen (no backlight), though the keyboard and power button light up. Here are the steps I've taken to troubleshoot:-> Removed battery, unplugged AC, performed "fleeting power removal" by holding the power button for 60 secs (have done this multiple times)-> Removed RAM, changed slots etc. When there is no RAM, the machine will continuously reboot-> Removed HDD, reseated-> Removed 2nd GPU. When the 2nd GPU is plugged in, the fan will try and spin every so often-> Unplugged connectors to wi-fi module-> Restarted many times-> Pressed the NOVO button, it simply brings it to the blank screen Any advice would be much appreciated. The laptop itself is in good condition, and has little physical ware. Unfortunately it's no longer under warranty, and I'm sure the cost of sending it in is quite high.

Hi,  My ~3 year old ideapad purchased from Newegg seems to have gone south. I have Windows 8.1 installed. Last night I shut it off to bring it to class and when I got to class and tried to boot up, it wouldn't finish starting up, would sit at the logo screen for about 30 seconds before shutting down and starting over. The fans power up like it is going to start. It repeats this loop indefinitely. I tried holding the reset button next to the charger port and still nothing.  Suggestions?  Thanks

I have gateway 600 laptop that recently started having screen problems. No trauma here.

The screen will be black. Then if I apply gentle pressure downwards like I'm closing the laptop, the screen will turn on and appear perfectly normal. Opening pressure never works. Sometimes I can find just the right angle where it will stay on.

I cracked open the little plastic cover between the keyboard and lcd panel and the connections seem fine there (not loose).

I'd like to keep the laptop and it is not worth installing a new lcd panel.

A:LCD on laptop goes black only at certain angles

You most likely have a bad cable between the LCD panel and the MB. If you look close, you may be able to find the break and/or loose connection and repair it.

I need to use excel to make a report showing the data I have collected in a way thats easy to read, but I cant figure out how to get excel to figure out what I need it to.

I have 4 points on a plane. The coordinates for these points are as follows:

point a
x=191.842
y=250
z=-1753.787

point b
x=189.999
y=250
z=-1789.553

point c
x=186.552
y=250
z=-1797.252

point d
x=172.996
y=250
z=-1795.796

Points A & B need to create Line 1. Points C & D need to create Line 2.
What I must figure out is what the angle is between Lines 1 & 2.

I have no idea how to make up a formula to do this. Your help would be greatly apreciated!

A:Excel help needed calculating angles from points

Since the points are in the same plane I reduced this to X-Y for simplicity. (my brain is tired)
point A
x=191.842
y=-1753.787

point B
x=189.999
y=-1789.553

point C
x=186.552
y=-1797.252

point D
x=172.996
y=-1795.796
Angle of these lines : = ATAN(change in Y)/(change in X)
Angle of a-b:

=ATAN((-1753.7879--1789.553)/(191.842-189.999))*180/PI()

*180/PI () converts radians to degrees

the result of that line is 87.0501186 degrees
Angle of c-d
=ATAN((-1797.252--1795.796)/(186.552-172.996))*180/PI()

the result of that line is -6.130426829 degrees
the difference in their angles is 93.18055~

I may have juggled coordinates in my haste so these numbers may be whacked, but this is the jist of it.

Hello, I know this isnt technically a BSOD, but its still a crash, my laptop crashes each time I play games. The crash happens in 3 different forms, sometimes the screen goes weird and then two bands appear, one purple one on top and a whiteish one on bottom, the whiteish band slowly turns green until it completly turns green. The other variants are black screens, but in one form it beeps 3 times after the crash, in the other it doesnt. I tested to see if the laptop would crash with war thunder, I got through the entire menu and to flight test, my plane was in the landing strip, for about 20 seconds, as soon as I pressed the "w" key, the crash happened, it was the purple with green one. I would also like to say that yesterday there were no crashes whatsoever, they just started today. I have a cooler under my laptop at all times. Oh and also, I took the battery out and pressed the power button, then I played an entire match of insurgency without a crash, but then I connected my head set and cooler to the USB ports and it crashed shortly after, dont know if coincidence or something to do with the power. Please help, any help would be appreciated!

A:Crash, Black Screen sometimes purple and green screen

Update to the problem, now each time I want to turn it on it beeps 8 times, its starts off with high pitched beeps and then beeps 8 times with low pitched beeps

Theres nothing wrong with the picture and you can use it as normal its just very unusual and doesn't look as good as a normal bright screen. Hi Pretz57, welcome to TSG....

The first thing that I would look at is the security setup and software. Check the settings. There may be just something in your AV settings that is blocking online Video..... for example, a parent setting to prevent a child from viewing video content.... that sort of thing.

I recently upgraded my machine with another 9800 GT card connected them together and started the sli. Problem is when the sli is on, the screen has this funky green color at random spots. When I turn off sli mode the screen returns to normal. I'v been messing around with the settings and nothing seems to work. The stranger part of it is that if i hit print screen and copy it into paint it looks normal. I've attached the picture so you can see what I mean. I have a dual monitor set up, but I don't think that is the problem. I also downloaded and installed the last drivers for the graphic cards and nothing changed. I messed around with the refresh rate but that only seem to make the green areas more "solid" or less flickery. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!

A:green screen

Hi calmat,

This issue could be caused either by the video card or the LCD. To isolate the issue, connect and external desktop monitor and switch the display.

If the issue occurs on the external monitor also, then reinstall the video card drivers and check.

If issue persists, then the problem is with video card.In case the issue is limited only to the LCD, the LCD needs to be replaced

Please post the results.

When I login to my computer with my user ID and password, the screen after a few moments will turn green. The only thing I can do is hit CTL ALT DELETE and exit out.  Is there something I can do to correct this myself? Or can someone explain what the problem probably is and some solutions for getting it resolved?

A:Green Screen

Hi there @mattmbrown, I hope you find your Support Forum experience a positive one! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that your computer display is coming up as a solid green after logging in. I am happy to help with this. Please post the full product number for your computer. See the following, if you need help with that information. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? As a quick test for now, try starting your system in Safe Mode  HP PCs - Windows Safe Mode (Windows 10, 8). If the display does not go to green, then it is likely a software issue. If it still does go to green then it is likely a hardware problem. Please let me know the results, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

My cousin recently bought a new Packard Bell imedia PC. Shes new to PC's and asked me why the screen was a shade of green instead of clear. You know like it is on a broken tv set. How can I alter this so it returns to the natural colour? Any one know as I'm going in a couple of days and I said I'd ask on tsg to see if any one knew?

Thank you for any replies!

Is it only with vdeo playback or is everything green on the display? If everything is green it indicates one of the primary colour-guns in your monitor tube has 'died'. This is not repairable economically. Only fix is a new monitor.

All we know is "the computer" is running Windows 7. You failed to mention the brand and exact model of computer and if it is a desktop or laptop. (some manufacturers strangely use the same model names for desktops and laptops so it is hard to tell).

Hi Calmat,

Try to uninstall and reinstall the Video drivers from vendor?s website and check. Please refer following link to get into safe mode with networking: Uninstall Device and Device Driver

Generally, Video cards in the laptop cannot be changed as it would be a part of the Motherboard.

For any clarifications feel free to contact me.

If he didn't do anything software wise, it's probably harware related, and therefore he is hosed. A thought: Mount it on a wall in his room and turn it into a DVD screen. I did that with an old LCD with a missing row. You don't notice it because you're watching the movie.

My screen has been getting this green haze in it a lot lately. I have to readjust the screen tilt to get it to go away. Is there a quick fix?

A:Screen turns green

Hi, whatsthis

If readjusting the screen's position helps alleviate this issue, then I think the issue lies in the cable leading to the LCD. This cable will likely need to be replaced to solve the issue. Regardless of warranty status I would recommend giving Lenovo Support a call at 1-800-426-7378 and seeing what your options are.

Best of luck. Let us know if you need anything.

Hello,
I'm relatively new to windows 8.1 as I've used Vista for the last 6 years and I'm now in trouble.
I hope it's alright that I post this here.

I don't know what "screen of death" (Blue or Black) I'm getting ...as it's green.
I customized my laptop months ago to the color green for the signing-in start-up.

What happened was I had a program that I deleted that left a dll on my PC.
I read that I must start my PC in Safe Mode to get rid of it.
I didn't know how to do this with W8.1 so I Googled and discovered I must find the "boot" folder in I THINK the System Mmanagement section .
Wherever it was...I found it and clicked on boot in "safe mode" along with another sub-box underneath that sounded like I needed it to do the work of removing (not sure what i clicked at all)

Anyways after restarting i'm getting a Green screen of Death where I can only move the cursor among a green screen.
While restarting by pressing ESC I tried a system recovery setting my PC back a day....I still have the green screen.

So I went into the BIOS and changed the Boot order so the drive would be first.
I then put in my Ubuntu ISO disc and now have my laptop running Ubuntu.
I thankfully transferred my files to an external drive and now have a question...

Is there any way to fix what I did with this Ubuntu running or is my only choice now is to send my PC back to day one losing all my programs?

Sorry for being so stupid (I miss Vista)

I kid you not, this is ridicilous. I have a HD ready TV that I use as a computer screen, i've been using it for months at 1280x720 because thats the highest resolution it is capable of running. So I just updated to the newest NVidia drivers and now, it's green and a bit oversized (aka some of the pictures goes outside of the screen. 1024x768 or any other resolution works perfectly fine, no green tint or anything. But 720p and it goes green, strong green tint across the entire screen.

*** do I do? (Im really lost this time, cause I need the newest drivers)

This is something that's been going on a while at start up,on the home screen there are groups of green pixels popping up here and there on the screen it almost looks like some kind of electrical noise, but if I unplug and go off battery it's still there. Also when scrolling down a web page the sentences run together. Would I be right in saying this is some kind of hardware problem and what could it be?

3. it also seems to be random--1 video will play, the next gets a green screen.
4. my usb mouse slows way down till I click off Media Player.

I cannot get XP to boot (I think). First I lost my mouse (MS Optical Comfort 3000) but overcame that by connecting an old MS mechanical PS/2 mouse that appears to work fine. However, shortly after clicking on the Password pane, I get a solid green screen. I suspect that XP is continuing to boot, but I can no longer see anything except the solid green screen (and my mouse pointer, which I have control over).

During the initial boot phase (up to and including the Password pane) everything appears normal (colors, contrast, etc.). I've pretty much run out of ideas. Can anyone offer advice on how to proceed?

If I want to view the same video immediately a second time, the Quicktime window turns to a blank green screen after playing the video for a few seconds. It started after I replaced my GEForce MX-4000 graphics card with a GEForce MX-5200, 8X AGP 128 Mb VRAM. The same files play with no problem on Kaffeine and also in MPlayer under Linux. Any ideas? There seems to be some kind of new incompatibility. The "new" graphics card was from another computer in my home, and it showed no problem with Quicktime on that computer.

Hi there. This laptop is about two years old, and yesterday I encountered a rather frightening error. After loading up a video (I had many other things open including a game (all settings on low) Skype + other tabs on Firefox) my screen tinted to green, proceeded to flash slowly with bright white and pink, and promptly switched itself off. After that initial error, I attempted to boot up the computer numerous times which resulted in a 5-10 second startup with a black screen, after which my laptop would shut itself down again. Rather frightened by this i shut it down again and did not touch it for about a day. Today I opened it again and discovered that it was correctly starting itself up now, however now the entire screen is tinted in green. When i upload screenshots, they appear completely normal to the person viewing them on their end, which means this is completely on my side. There was no real problem with the screen until then. The only other problem with the laptop is physical damage. About three weeks ago it received a rough physical shock on one of its corners which snapped the hinge in half. This was no problem until it received another similar shock one week later (not by me this time!!!) in the same area. Since then the casing at the front has been prone to "falling off".  I admit it was stupid in hindsight but I had been snapping the casing back on daily. Maybe I screwed something up on the inside? All my friends seem to think that it's so... Read more

Hello I know very little about computers. Anyways my PC won't videos. They will begin fine and a couple of seconds into it, the screen will just turn all green. This happens on any video I try. On youtube it doesn't turn green but it just stops after a few seconds and never starts again. I don't know if these things are related. I tried to uninstall flash player and re-install the Adobe flash player 12 plugin (I don't know if I need the active x ). That didn't work. Oh and when I try to download something it takes an incredibly long amount of time, like it will get to the last 99% and just stop. I mostly work on chrome and I know it has its own built in flash player but then why do the videos play green? I tried firefox and it also happens on there. I tried to unclick the "enable hardware acceleration" on the video settings because I read somewhere to try that. That didn't work. I disabled the quicktime plugins (just to see what that would do) and that did nothing. I'm at my wits end. I have no idea what to do or what I'm doing. I would really appreciate some help. Thank you in advance. This is information about my PC,but like everything else, I don't know what any of it means.

Try uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it, that might fix the issues you're having. Though you will have to put the files back onto iTunes. (that shouldn't be hard...just click and drag from whatever folder they're saved in).

I recently had a virus on my computer, shortly after i noticed it green lines began appearing across my screen, because i could not remove the virus with my anti virus software and the fact that my computer kept crashing, i reformatted my hard drive. I hoped that the green lines and the crashes would stop afterwards but they havn't, i read on alot of forum posts that these things are due to a fried graphics card, but when i switch to the onboard graphics card the lines still remain.

Before i go out and buy a new graphics card i just want to know whether that is really the issue or if it is due to something else.

A:Green lines across screen

Try using your monitor on another system to check whether it's not causing the problem. If the monitor is fine then it should be related to the GPU. However, since you say that it's also happening with the onboard video, it does seem a little strange. Just ensure that your system temperatures are not too high.

I purchased a Satelitte Fusion L55 and began the registration process. Hit enter got the Toshiba splash page and then got a green screen with the words Just a Moment... it has been sitting with that screen for 12 hours -- any ideas? SHould I just send it back.

A:Green screen on startup

I would return it and get them to replace it. A new device should never do that.

Half of my laptop screen is green all the time. It's split vertically and it's on the right hand side. How do I fix this?

hi i have a touchsmart desktop and when i start my computer green lines appear it works perfectely except for the green lines.im able to see and do everything  with out a problem but the green lines don;t seem to go away...what can it be can someone help me?

A:green lines on screen

Typically, solid lines that run through LCD screens is not good. It usually indicates that the screen itself is bad or (hopefully) one end of the cable has lost connection with one of the leads on the cable. For any of the TouchSmart computer, this involves a major service event - just to check the cable connection (to LVD1 or 2) on the motherboard.

I have a 2 month old HP pav dv9000 Vista 64 that will play the audio portion of podcasts, but not the video. These podcasts play in Real Player. HP had me delete and reload iTunes, but that didn't solve the problem.

One user on iTunes support forum said iTunes didn't know what the problem is (she/he had same symptoms I do).

Anyone with similar problems? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hey jcSantos,

Have you tried to update all drivers for your system? Although you have updated your GPU adapters you could try your display adapters and also the motherboard driver.
Kind regards,

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew what exactly was up with my computer or monitor? I think I have pinpointed it to a computer problem, but anyway, here is the situation:

One day my screen just flickered bright all of a sudden. After that it would flicker bright a few more times, and finally, everything on the screen just turned greenish and fuzzy or smeared-looking. It is still this way as I am posting this message. At first I thought the monitor was going bad, so I changed monitors, but to no avail: the screen was still fuzzy green. I've tried restarting many, many times, and it is the same. I haven't placed any sort of magnetized object in the computer room, so it couldn't be that, I wouldn't think. I do have a graphics chipset on the motherboard (rather than a video card), could it be going bad? Also, my main question here, I'm seriously considering buying a new computer over this, should I? This computer is 3 years old, approximately. Thanks for your concern.

Since it is at the very least an onboard graphics chip and at the most the motherboard, I think you would be wsie to get a new system.

For the last few days my initial boot up delivers some strange results. In normal circumstances when the boot process starts the BIOS information is scrolling white characters on a black screen. In my case I have scrolling white figures on a green screen. This occurs until the process reaches the Vista marching caterpillars which is usually a black screen… for me it’s green.

At this stage a blue screen appears so fast that I am unable to read it in detail but it begins “A problem has occurred with your computer and it is being shut down to prevent damage…..” etc. At this point it will restart and the process is repeated for maybe three times until it will start properly or it will give me a number of start options like “Last satisfactory startup” etc.

Once the system is warmed up it will start quite happily with no problems. I should mention that green only appears where the screen would normally be black. Once the desktop appears (if it appears) the colours are normal

NOTE: This is not a dual boot set-up... both operating systems are completely independent of each other. I use XP predominantly.

I have three drives attached as follows:

1.) 160gig containing XP
2.) 320gig divided into 3 partitions which also has XP on it (my test copy)
3.) 160gig containing Vista which is mounted in a removable case. This is so I can switch drives using the BIOS. I can therefore switch this drive off and so protect the system restore information ... Read more

A:A Green Screen On Start-up

When the computer is booting, keep pressing down F8, and when you get a menu select "Disable automatic restart on system failure (or some variation of that)", and press enter. When you get the blue screen write down the details and post them back here.

Basically, I've had this problem once and it disappeared like 2 days after. I left it at that. Then it came back this time 3x worse. I've had this problem with my laptop's screen. 3 Quarters of it would be flickering and repeating the start bar and it would be greenish or pinkish which made it really hard for me to use. It has been happening for 2 days in a row now. When I on my laptop, the black screen loads up along with the green/pink thing. Then it continues, sometimes there would be a red line on the left hand side. I really hope that I could fix this.  My laptop is a hp-f039wm. Thank you very much for your concern.
