Q: G580 Intel Wimax adapter was stolen ?

Seems Till date LENOVO has no solutions for Wimax adapter missing in G580? moreover I have trouble in contacting online support / call center ever succeeded to get a onsite support. THE WORST service - My Lenovo laptop G580 had an ERRO "The WiMax adapter is missing", cant access it. It shows message : "The WiMax adapter is missing." error code 0x302". How to Fix....Please suggest Is that a concern ? I could see I need to wait for a while to access my Wirless signal in my LOG-IN. Is there any service support locally to fix this I tried calling published support number(s) and ended up with collecting 10 to 15 new numbers ...... dial and ever reached.. Sam - Hyderabad

hi Hermes101,
Welcome to the Forums.
You didn't mention the model of your lenovo PC but if you look into the Device Manager > Network Adapters, does it show the Intel Wireless 6150 adapter or do you see both the wireless and WiMax driver in the Other Devices entry?

If the WI-Fi adapter is not present in the Device Manager, can you try to install this driver (this is for Win8.1 but it should work on Win10).

I have a Wimax USB adapter on my laptop which connects to a Wimax tower on the roof of an adjacent building. So this is the only laptop in my home with internet access. What i want to do is transmit this connection throughout the entire house so that i can access the internet anywhere in my home with a Wifi enabled device. If I'm not very mistaken, I'll be needing a Wireless Router to do the job but i have no idea how to go about successfully creating this connection and what router to buy. A push in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

So I know that this topic has been discussed before so I'm attaching my laptop's information on the basis of those threads.

So my Dell Inspiron 14z N411z's wireless stopped working suddenly. So I reinstalled my Windows 7, Ultimate 64-bit. But the issue is still persisting.

I conducted a test using intel's proset wireless and it says that the wireless hardware is enabled but the driver results cannot be found. The network adapter is also missing in the device manager.

Please find attached the results using 'DxDiag' command and 'msinfo32'.

Please please tell me about the drivers and their links.

The correct install procedure for a Dell is (1) Install Windows (2) Install Dell Desktop or Laptop System Software (3) Install Motherboard Chipset Drivers (3) Install Device Drivers including Video, Sound, Ethernet/Wireless, etc.

Did you follow that procedure. And, install drivers direct from Dell? (There are 5 chipset drivers to install).

Hello everyone.
I have an Intel PRO/100 M network adapter and I can't find a driver for it, for Windows 7 x64.
Windows XP (32 bit) can recognize it automatically.
Windows Vista (32 bit) does not have built-in drivers for it, but it can get them from Windows Update without me having to search for them.
But Windows 7 (64 bit) can't find them. I have searched everywhere for drivers for my network adapter, but I can't find them.

Does anyone know where I can get a driver for my adapter?

Here's the hardware ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1229&SUBSYS_00098086&REV_05

Lil' help please. I bought two Anypoint Wireless USB adapters to run on a two computer network running Windows ME. I bought them from Ebay, so I didn't get any paperwork or drivers. I downloaded the software and the software. I followed the directions on Intel's site, and got the server up and running. No conflicts. Adapter appears to be working fine.

My problem is with my son's computer. He's running the same thing I am. I copied the drivers and software to disk so I could install on his machine. In "networking" it says I have the stuff loaded. When I look in "system" for network adapters, it doesn't show Anypoint at all.

I first installed the driver, then plugged the usb cable into the back of the computer. It was not recognized. I installed it manually. (btw... my usb mouse was recognized - I tested the port).

I can't find help on this anywhere.

A:Intel Anypoint Adapter - USB - Windows ME

Try plugging the anypoint adapter from your son's PC into your PC. If they're identical it should work there and you know that its OK. If not its probably the adapter that has the problem. If it works in your machine then I would suggest that you start again on your son's machine. Install the drivers first, then insert the USB cable into the slot so that Windows has the drivers ready to use when it first finds the device.

I am having a weird issue pertaining only to this piece of hardware Intel CT desktop adapter(pci add in NIC card).

I originally discovered this issue after receiving reports that the PC's were either "locking up" or restarting.
checking the dump files I see a message that says the physical adapter was removed. This is obviously not happening. Its seems likely/apparent that an IRQ conflict is causing these lockups but I cannot find a way to provide definitive proof of this.

The only anomaly with this device is that it shows as having multiple IRQ assignments in both msinfo32.exe and through the device manager.

I have access to at least 10 different machines all identical in hardware running windows 7 with these adapters installed. These are Dell XE'2 spec'ed identical with the exception of the PCI NIC cards that were added after deployment. All have various IRQ's assigned to them most have 6-7. Some as many as 21. They are all running the same driver and I have tested both older drivers and current drivers, Each card will install the same seemingly random number of IRQ's as it had before even after multiple uninstall and reinstall.

I also have at least another 10 in my lab with various other brands of PCI add in NICs (broadcom, SIIG etc.) that do not do not have mutliple IRQ.

Searching the net and various other machines I have access to, I cannot find any other machines with devices that list having more than one IRQ assigned to it. This specific device on ... Read more

Hey there!

So, I recently installed Windows Home Edition 64x onto my computer. However, when I tried to install a driver so that I could access my internet again, it said that the Intel(R) Adapter was no longer to be found when my prior version did have it on the computer. I've been looking into trying different drivers and I've heard that depending on the type of motherboard you have, that has something to do with which ones you want to install. But because this computer was custom built by a friend I'm no longer in contact with, it makes finding out this information a little tricky. I'm just not half as computer savvy as they were. I collected this information based off of other tutorials if it would help any and attached it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The solution was to run the DOS ODI drivers first before running windows and network setup. This enabled the weird settings to be set automatically. Afterwards, there was no need to run the ODI drivers again before running windows (not sure, but I suspect it would result in problems to do so)
I now have both my DOS boxes networked in Win 3.11 and am happy

Am trialling Windows 8 at the moment and while the wired Ethernet connection on the test machine was working initially following the Windows install, it is now out of action: no lan, no internet. I've tested the network cable with another (Win 7) machine and it works fine. Am connecting directly to a broadband modem/router with an in-build DHCP server and no restrictions of note.
Windows detects the on-board adapter as an Intel 82566DM-2 Gigabit Network Connection and reports it as 'working properly' in Device Manager. The driver version is reported as dated 27/09/2011 from Microsoft. However, when the machine starts up it fails to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server and defaults to whatever IP Windows uses when in doubt ( An ipconfig /renew command results in an error ("error occurred while renewing interface Ethernet: unable to contact your DHCP server...").
I also noticed I have a Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter listed in Device Manager, which I have disabled in an unsuccessful attempt to resolve this problem.
I have tried assigning a static IP/gateway to the Intel device and have also disabled IPv6. Have disabled the Windows Firewall. No success. Have tried a winsock reset and reboot, no success.

I am running Windows 7 64bit retail on an Intel DX58SO2 extreme mobo with i7960 CPU and Corsair SATA3 SSD hard drive, with 12GB KIngston DDR3 1300 RAM.

The mobo comes with a module that connects to an internal USB header which runs Bluetooth and a WiFi 802.11bgn wireless adapter.

I had used Bluetooth without problems for some time, but just recently decided to install the WiFi adapter for the first time. It said it had installed successfully, and showed up on Device Manager as working properly. However, it could not detect networks, and in particular, the WiFi external modem/router on my other PC.

After exhausting all possible solutions, I decided to load a bare bones installation of Windows 7 and it installed and ran perfectly in this environment. And it continued to run OK after all my various programs were loaded.

However, as a test, I uninstalled it from the fully loaded OS, and then successfully reinstalled it. But once again, it could not detect networks despite Device Manager saying it was working correctly.

So it seems the only way to get it to work is to load it on Windows before any other programs or updates are added; and never uninstall/reinstall.

I also had exactly the same experience on my other PC which runs Vista Ultimate OEM. I was using a Belkin N 300 adapter on this OS. It could only be loaded and run successfully on a bare bones installation, but once running, was OK even when all other programs were added.

That said;

Intel has discontinued support for the Intel ProSet/Wireless 2200BG Network Adapter. There might be some generic drivers capable of Win7 out there, but I can't find them on the Intel site.

Anybody out there using the Intel Anypoint Phone Network Adapter? I'm having problems getting games to play over the network. Surfing web with DSL and moving files etc is basically ok. I got one PC acting as a server with 98, and four PCs as clients with 98/Me.

I think it has to do with TCP/IP conflicts with other cards like ethernet.

Any experience out there?

Also is anyone using the Intel Phone adapter on a labtop with Win2000 and Novell network software? Any conflicts plugging the laptop at work then using it at home on the home network? Any special settings etc.

Hi there -

Yes, I use the same thing here at my home between my work system and my boys system.

I think it is just super slow because it uses a regular analog phone line, hence the problem playing graphics-intense games.

Aside from that, I've had no problems.

Hello Sam95 and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you think the installation of this graphic adapter is the cause of your problems than I think it would be wise to either take it away (run the uninstall program that came with the adapter ) or if that does not work, restore your system till a date before this installation.

Dear folks, I can?t get the Network Adapter Intel 82562 v10/100 to work despite multiple diagnostics, installations and Dell factory system restore (F8). Consistently I get a recalcitrant ?Code 10? in the network adapter driver.

Everything began one day when I was using a program that requires Java. While doing so, I got bored and decided to browse another website (a questionable one) and it didn?t take too long before I got disconnected from the network. The first message was that the Bonjour Service was stopped (mDNSresponse.exe); then my network settings showed ?a cable has been unplugged? but doesn't make sense since my computer is connected to the router through an Ethernet cable. After checking connections anyway, I closed everything, restarted the computer and ran Norton antivirus. Next thing I get was intermittent access to the network which rapidly evolved into marked instability and since then permanent disconnection. To get around it I hooked up a wireless adapter I have at home which works for a while just to end up being useless in a matter hours again with the message ?a cable has been unplugged?.

I ran Norton antivirus & Malaware bytes. The latter one identified 4 viruses: 2 from Malware.Trace (a Registry Value virus), another from Rogue.Antivirus Suite (a registry key -avsuite) and another was Evidence Eliminator. A last one was stored in the Favorites folder which I deleted. I removed them all (o... Read more

Hi, I have a Toshiba A665-S5170 laptop and the icon for Intel My Wifi Technology says 'Adapter not found' (but I am still able to connect to the internet). Should I be concerned about this? I rarely shut down my computer (I just put it to hibernate) and I'm afraid to do that or even restart it because the wireless might not work if I do.

I read that My Wifi technology is actually only meant to allow me to use my computer as a wifi hot spot, is that true? That would explain why my internet is still up and running and, if that's the case, I'm not sure if the network adapter working is a problem since I don't use my computer as a hot spot. Thanks for any help anyone can give!

look for a cheap used card from the Nvidia 6xxx (6200) or 7xxx (7300 )series of cards. You don't really want to spend too much as you will not be able to move the card to a new computer if or when you get one. Another thing is that based on the age of your computer there is a good chance that the power supply won't be up to running much more than what you currently have.

I'm out of ideas. Tried several different drivers, and settings. Using a fresh install of Windows 7 RC.

The drivers all seem to "work", by which I mean Windows 7 has no problem with them, but no driver I've tried will let the card actually talk with anything. It keeps trying to find a DHCP address and always comes up with a 169 address. Even when I specify a static IP it still won't see anything on the network.

DHCP is working for my on board NIC, and this card works in my XP installation on this same PC.

The driver that seems to "work" the best so far is this: Download HP Intel PRO/1000 Gigabit Driver 13.5.00 Rev.C for Vista64 Driver for Windows Vista64 - Softpedia

With that driver I actually get all of the nifty features in the driver properties page, and I've run all of it's diagnostic tests which all come up green.

Also worth nothing: I had this same problem with Windows 7 Beta.

Any ideas?

Hi mmseng,
Even though it should not matter I wonder what happens if you to go the properties of that network card and uncheck the box for I.P. v6 and just leave I.P.v4 checked? Make sure the Network card does not have a static I.P. set ( I assume you want to use DHCP) and also make sure your router is setup correctly.

I'm thinking maybe you had a static I.P. set on your network card when you had XP installed and when you installed Windows 7 it got wiped out. Maybe your router is set to use static I.P.? hmmm

I have an IBM T40 Thinkpad that has a built-in Intel Pro Wireless 2100 LAN 3B Mini PCI adapter. A while back, after trying to set up a router, and monkeying with settings, I found I could no longer connect. The OEM-installed IBM Access Connections was no help, and Windows tells me it cannot configure the adapter/connections. At first I thought the card was defective, but 2 new ones have the same results. I've been using a USB adapter, but would like to get the built-in working again. My friend thought I could remove IBM Access Connections and install different software to operate the adapter.

Two questions:
1.Does this sound feasible?
2.Can someone recommend some software (preferably freeware)?

Really long story short, I've got two Toshiba L505 models and a couple of parts were broken on one and different ones were broken on the others so I've got a bit of a franken-computer at the moment. I'm working on the one that has the battery, keyboard and HDD from the other case and combined ram for both (4gb total). The post in the charge port of the other case had some wiggle and wasn't getting a charge and that is a pain to replace so I went back to this one that I'd just set aside due to an unfortunate water/keyboard accident. Everything was on an external so I didn't really care, didn't need both.

Anyway, after transferring the HDD to this case, I'm having issues with the display adapter. Screen is stretched and I'm only getting 1024x768 or 800x600 for options. Took a peek at the device manager and I'm getting a code 12 (This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.)

Deployed husband and teething 8 month old is really hindering the time I have available to tweak this thing but I've uninstalled, reinstalled. Disabled, enabled. Updated, etc. and nothing has changed.

Brain is super scattered with a move on top of everything so if you're requesting specific info, would you mind providing exactly how to do what you're requesting? The steps or links to do so are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

I have an Asus U56E which has an Intel Centrino 6150 Wireless N + Wimax network adapter on it. This card ran fine the first few months I had it. Then I installed Ubuntu 12.04 with my windows install and ran it dual boot. The card worked fine on Windows but I had to make some configuration changes on Ubuntu for it to run. I did that and it worked fine still. Then, naively, I installed a registry cleaner (wise registry cleaner to be exact), and some time after installing it and running it regularly (usually 2-3 times a week) something went wrong and I started getting this issue with my card. What happens is the wireless will be functioning for some time, perfectly normal, and then it will just lose internet connection. I will have to disable and re-enable the adapter through device manager to get it to work but that only works sometimes, most of the time the device just won't start again and I will get the device can not start error in device manager. Also, when this happens I usually restart my computer and sometimes when I do that (or even when I just turn my laptop on or come back from putting it to sleep) the adapter is not recognized at all, doesn't even show up in device manager. What's most odd about that is that the Wimax still shows up on the list of network adapters but the wireless doesn't show up.

The steps I have taken to try and remedy this issue are, re-install the drivers (by uninstalling them first) from both the asus and intel websites, do a fre... Read more

Hello and welcome Sphoenix am no expert but one thing I don't ever do is us reg cleaners I use CCleaner to fix reg issues only. Having said that I find it hard to believe that any software would wreck the network card or any other hardware piece for that matter.

You say you have reinstalled 7 just how did you do that/ and have you still got Ubuntu on board? If not then why not make a bootable disk and use the try Ubuntu to see if you can access the net if you can perhaps there is something wrong with your 7 install.

You could also look through the reg for that registry cleaner entries as although unlikely maybe there are remnants left over. But it would be good to know how you re installed the Windows first.

Hello everyone, here's to my first post:

I had a BSOD a while ago and, although it hasn't occured again, it somehow led to my Wireless Driver being uninstalled( my laptop could detect wireless networks before, not anymore).

My immediate action was to attempt to reinstall the official driver on the TOSHIBA EU driver support page. It seems to have been installed, but the problem persisted. So, I tried to install it manually from the Intel website, using PROWinx64, but I couldn't install it due to it not detecting any "Intel Network Adapter". After checking System Information, the Network Driver is indeed unavailable and I don't know how to repair/reinstall it.

These are the contents of the Network Adapters section in Device Manager:

->realtek pcie gbe family controller (my LAN works)

I recently updated the driver for this network adapter, went from version 18.8 to 21.0. When I go to Device Manager > Network Adapters > Intel Ethernet Connection I217-V, it seems like the properties window for that adapter takes about 5-6 seconds to open and certain tabs like General/Link Speed/Advanced/Power Management/Teaming/VLANs take a few seconds to load after clicking on them.

Is this normal? I can't remember if the window for this adapter was faster loading on previous versions of the driver.

1.) After restart
2.) When the network adapter successfully starts and then shut the computer down then start it again

Cases that my network adapter does not connect to my computer:
1.) Turning the computer on after a few hours from the last shutdown

I have done the following things:
1.) Update the driver
2.) Not allowing the computer to turn off the network adapter
3.) Uninstall and reinstall network adapter
4.) Release and renew IPv4 address
5.) Disable Proset services
6.) Disable Bluetooth driver and services
7.) Set WLAN AutoConfig to automatically start

Is this a hardware related problem or a driver problem? Do you know how to fix this?

I am 10 meters away from the router but the wifi indicator at the right bottom show full bar but my connection still very slow and it should be only 2 bar like before. After several munites of connectivity it disconnects itself and when I tried to connect it again it says that can't connect to this network sometimes no network found. I restarted my pc to and it connects again and disconnects again after 5 minuntes. Help me do dome something about this..

Hello guys.
I have a problem with my computer and really need some help. My Dell Latitude D630 was running normally during the day but then when I turned it on at night and tried connecting to the Internet, I got this message: "Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software was unable to detect a supported wireless adapter. Please install a supported adapter."

I'm not very good with computers and am not sure what to do or what this could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have Windows XP.

Hello everyone,

I've been having this problem for half a year now, and I've tried everything I could think of (as an advanced user) to fix it myself, without success. I have kept a log of all errors that I have received and of all solutions that I have attempted, so please bear with me as I try to describe all the relevant details, in the hope that someone will be able to help me fix it.

Ever since I bought my laptop (Acer Aspire 5930G), I have been getting blue screens (BSODs) that seem to be linked with the Intel wireless network adapter that came pre-installed in it. Whenever the WiFi is turned on from the button on the front of the laptop, a BSOD will appear at a random point in time (usually, between a few minutes and a few days after it has been switched on), regardless of whether I am actually connected to a WLAN network or not. On average, I get a BSOD every other day or so. If the WiFi is turned off from the button, then no BSOD ever appears.

The error codes that the BSODs indicate vary, these are just some of what I have received:
- 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0xbab30d70, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
- 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0xb8330d70, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
- 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0x80042000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
- 0x100000d1 (0xa483a671, 0x00000002, 0x00000008, 0xa483a671)

After analysing some of the minidumps generated by the BSODs with WinDbg, the following files were indicated as possible culprits, all of them having to do with Internet connectivit... Read more

Ok so I just got a used Intel Dual Gigabit 1000/PRO PT PCIE network adapter.

My Hardware is as follows:

Intel i7 3770k
ASUS Z77V-PRO mobo
8GB Ram
AMD Radeon HD 7850 video card
Audigy2 ZS PCI sound card

I have the most up to date BIOS on the motherboard

So I installed the network adapter into 1 of my 2 free pcie slots.
In BIOS I disable the onboard LAN adapter.

Load into windows and I get a new hardware installation message saying that the drivers for my "Xeon processor E3-1200 v2/3rd Gen Core processor PCI Express Root Port - 0155" has been installed and ready. That is my first WTF.

I try to install the newest Intel drivers provided by the Intel website, I get an error saying "There is no Intel Network Adapter installed on your computer" error. 2nd WTF

I have no tried numerous combinations of using my 2nd free pcie slot in the mobo, no change in situation.

THe odd thing is, is that on the network card when its plugged in and computer turned on the green lights on the ports are on solid (not flashing) as I have no cable in them yet. So I dont think the card is dead. The card was used but looked to be in perfect condition.

What is the problem, can anyone help? I cant find any other people having many issues with these cards online.

A:Intel dual gigabit 1000/pro PT PCIE network adapter not working!

Just a guess but I think your Intel Dual Gigabit 1000/PRO PT PCIE was designed to work with a Xeon processor and a matching motherboard.
I believe it would be completely different circuitry from your motherboard and cpu.

I am using the VGA port of a Dell 4-in-1 adapter (DA100) to connect my XPS 13 with touch screen display to a Dell U2412M monitor. The Intel HD Graphics Control Panel does not detect that there is an external monitor attached to the computer, i.e., the Graphics Options menu does not show the "Output To" option, the Graphics Properties' Display menu shows only "Built-in Display" under the Select Display tab, etc. The DA100 was installed remotely by Dell Support (after neither I nor they could find the driver on the Dell support website, as instructed to do by the software driver download guide that comes with the adapter), so I assume that it was installed correctly. Has anyone else experienced this problem and, hopefully, have a solution?

Just bought a new computer from Dell and the network card is an Intel pro v 100 adapter. It won't find the other computers in the network, or the internet. The other cards seem to be ethernet cards. Does the new intel card need to be reconfigured from its default settings to work on the net. If so, how...I received no information on the product.

A:{Advice Offered} - Intel pro v 100 adapter will not find network or connect to the internet

Well, generally speaking, all network cards need to be configrued before they will work on your network.

On a working machine go into Control Panel, Network and see what protocols you have installed. If you have TCP/IP double click on it and write down all the settings.

Now check the new machine - make sure the same protocols are installed and TCP/IP is set up the same (unless you have an IP address assigned - if so, make sure it is NOT the same as any other computer on your network)

I was encountering this problem last week:

I did a clean reinstall and was sort-of able to get the laptop to boot to normal mode. I say "sort-of" because it still has a couple of issues:
1) After the clean install, Windows update downloaded about 150 updates. After rebooting, I ran into the same issue as before - unable to boot into normal mode. I did another clean reinstall and installed the Windows updates 1 by 1 and found that installing the Intel Graphics adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics adapter WDDM1.2 - Intel HD Graphics 4000 was causing the problem. If I don't install this update, I don't have the file corruption issue.

2) The other problem is that I can't get my laptop to display on an external display. The Win + P keys don't bring up the display selection dialog. I installed the above-mentioned Intel graphics update and the Win + P keys were working now - but now the laptop goes into safe mode within 10-20 seconds of booting up - same as the original problem. So now I can't display on an external monitor unless I install the Intel driver but the driver corrupts the system files and I run into the original problem.

3) The last issue is that the 'space' key on the laptop is acting oddly - hitting the space key almost always resets the cursor pointer a few words before where it's supposed to be, or the cursor just disappears. This didn't happen prior to the file corruption so I'm wondering if this is ... Read more

eGreetings All,

I have a 4 year old Acer Netbook Aspire One D250-1341. Running Windows 7 Starter. It is out of warranty.
About 3 months ago it started dropping the wireless internet connection. It has a Broadcom 802.11g network adapter onboard. (No exclamation mark in the Device Manager). It still connects at close range to my router.

I tried some general adjustments by searching the web - but nothing helped.

So I thought I would try adding an Intel Wifi Link 5300 AGN card. There is a slot on the bottom of the netbook where it fits. You just take the cover off and slide it in.
Windows found the card and installed the drivers. It shows up in Device Manager with no exclamation. I manually disabled the Broadcom adapter.
But the Intel 5300 won't find my network.
I went to the Intel web site and ran the Driver Update Utility it searched and found the 5300 and installed the current drivers.
Still no luck connecting.

Maybe this setup won't work at all and I should send the Intel 5300 card back to Amazon for a refund?
I am at a loss.
I have tried searching the web and I can't find anyone that has added a a wireless card to the open slot on the bottom of an Acer D250.

Any ideas? I was hoping to get a stronger and more stable wireless connection.

Thank you so much for your time and assistance.
Happy Holidays!

I'm having a problem with this driver in Windows 7. When I view my devices, there are exclamation points on these:

1) Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology
Manufacturer: Intel
Location: PCI bus 0, device 31, function 6
Device status: This device cannot start. (Code 10)

2) Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter
Manufacturer: Microsoft
Location: Unknown
Device status: This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I tried to troubleshoot thru Windows 7 by re-installing the drivers of both. However, both installations failed. What seems to be the problem with my system.

What should be the effect of these "troubles"? How will I resolve these issues?

I have Dell Inspiron 5000 series 5558 model laptop. Recently i have upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1.
I have also used driver & download web page on Dell portal to  download & install latest drivers for Windows 10 64-bit OS including BIOS. But the issue is i'm unable to view "Nvidia Geforce 920M display adapter" under desktop-->display settings-->Display-->advanced display settings and it shows "Intel HD Graphic 5500".
I have checked Device Manager --> Display Adapters and i can see both Nvidia GeForce 920M & Intel HD Graphics 5500.
Also under Nvidia Control Panel --> Manage 3D settings -->global settings is set to "High performance Nvidia Process".
Please advice how do i change settings under desktop-->display settings-->Display-->advanced display settings to use "Nvidia GeForce 920M" instead of "Intel HD Graphic 5500".
Nvidia GeForce 920M driver= 359.06
Please advice.

Hello everyone. I have a couple issues here:

Problem 1. I cannot connect to the Internet on my Toshiba laptop (A665-S6094). The problem began when I started watching a movie on Kodi (Exodous). The screen was showing a streaming problem so I stopped it to change the stream and got the 'No Stream Available'. Logged off and went to my browser but nothing. Couldn't log on to the Internet.
I found that my WiMax Bus Eumerator driver was missing (wasn't previously that I know of). I did a computer search for the driver without avail. Needless to say without Internet on that computer I wasn't able to locate one. Right now I am using my old and very slow laptop with Windows XP.

Continued - Problem 2. I thought maybe a system restore would fix the missing driver problem but when I tried to do so I was told it could not do so as there may be a disk error. It told me to run a check disk. Tried but it told me it couldn't do the check and asked if I wanted to schedule it for the next time the computer started, so I checked 'yes'. Restarted the computer a few times but each time it never did run the disk check.
I've had the Toshiba for about a month now and remember seeing 'Boot Failed' flash upon startup several times. Everything loaded up fine and was working well until now. Contacted the person who sold me the laptop a week ago but no response.

Technical information IEEE 802.16

WiMAX is a term coined to describe standard, interoperable implementations of IEEE 802.16 wireless networks, similar to the way the term Wi-Fi is used for interoperable implementations of the IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN standard. However, WiMAX is very different from Wi-Fi in the way it works.

MAC layer/data link layer

In Wi-Fi the media access controller (MAC) uses contention access ? all subscriber stations that wish to pass data through a wireless access point (AP) are competing for the AP's attention on a random interrupt basis. This can cause subscriber stations distant from the AP to be repeatedly interrupted by closer stations, greatly reducing their throughput. This makes services such as Voice over IP (VoIP) or IPTV, which depend on an essentially-constant Quality of Service (QoS) depending on data rate and interruptibility, difficult to maintain for more than a few simultaneous users.

In contrast, the 802.16 MAC uses a scheduling algorithm for which the subscriber station need compete once (for initial entry into the network). After that it is allocated an access slot by the base station. The time slot can enlarge and contract, but remains assigned to the subscriber station, which means that other subscribers cannot use it. In addition to being stable under overload and over-subscription (unlike 802.11), the 802.16 scheduling algorithm can also be more bandwidth efficient. The scheduling algorithm also allows the bas... Currently Wimax CPE receive My ISP DNS as a primary DNS and Google DNS as a Secondary DNS.... Some of my friends are also using the same services and they are facing the same issue too... I have a Networking background so I just want to probe the problem...What could be the reason behind the inaccessibility of the CPE local access? Any help and guidance will be highly appreciable.__Thanks__
