HDMI port on y510p damaged

Q: HDMI port on y510p damaged

My computer was plugged into my TV via HDMI and my dog ran by, grabbing the cord and taking the laptop down with it. It looks damaged on the inside of the port and does not work. I have had the screen flash for a split second trying to plug it in but not even long enough to be recognized by the monitor. I am trying to find out if this is something that can be repaired, or am I screwed? I use my laptop for presentations and meetings a few times a week, please let me know if there are any solutions. I tried contacting customer support on Lenovo's website but received an error message. Thanks

Hi I just did a clean Windows 10 install and I cannot get the hdmi (or the vga) output to work. I get no signal. I have the single Nvidia version.  I tried as many drivers I could find for the Intel and Nvidia graphics but no success at all.  Hard disk was replaced so I don't have the recovery partition and I don't have the recovery dvd set either. Would anyone that has hdmi output working on windows 10 please tell me what drivers are using?  Thanks

I want to use 2 displays using HDMI, but the only problem is that when I plug in my HDMI to my TV through the motherboard, it does not work. I know some do not support it which is why I am coming here. My mother board and graphics card are in my account so look there for the details on my computer. Thank you

A:Can I use my motherboard HDMI port as well as my graphics card HDMI?

I've seen a number of computers where the addition of an Add-in Video card automatically disabled the onboard adapter. The only thing that worked to restore the onboard adapter was to remove that Add-in card. You may want to consider getting a different Add-in card that has 2 HDMI ports. Or if your motherboard has 2 PCIe X16 slots get a 2nd matching card.

I have just purchased two new monitors that have two hdmi and a vga input but my graphics card has dvi, hdmi and display port so I have one monitor running Strait hdmi and the other one running dvi converted to hdmi but that one I'd very blurb and slightly stretched. So I was wondering if it would be better to run displayport and convert it to hdmi or get a new graphics card.

Tripped over cord running from web cam to suv port. Damaged suv port. What can i do??

A:damaged suv port

SUV port? You have a Sport Utility Vehicle port? Wow!!

If you meant a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port, then if you have another port, use that. You can even hubs (powered or maybe not) to gain more ports where they might be more conveniently located, all from one port that might be on the rear of the computer.

If you really need that one broken port to be functional, then ... get it fixed.

Well, the dogs are in trouble! We were connected to our printer with a cable and the dogs ran through and pulled the cable out and damaged the port on the printer (it reminded me of a scene from A Christmas Story). Is there a way to replace the usb port? We have an HP Officeject 7410xi All-in-One. Thanks so much for any advice you can give.

A:Damaged Printer Port

Well, I'm sure there's a way. OTOH, you'll certainly have to disassemble the printer. You may be able to either glue the port back together, or perhaps wire direct. I suspect getting the exact part may be a problem.

I have found that somehow an object got into the "square pin" hole of the ps/2 port for the k/b on my PC, thus now I cannot plug in my keyboard. I have no idea where this object came from. The pins on the k/b cable itself are not damaged. Anyway, does anyone know of a way to maybe fix this? This is more frustrating then anything else, but I would like to fix if possible. I am thinking as going as far as replacing the port, but not really wild about taking it off of the MB and then having to re-solder the ground. It's an HP 502n if that helps at all.

Basically looking for thoughts and suggestions

TIA

My headphone port was damaged when the headphone plug was forced out and look some plastic part of my notebook. Then when I plug headphones in, it is not stable and moves around. I suspect some metal part has bent away from the port. I am too sacred to open the notebook myself and check it first. or it it expensive to replace?
What should I do? The warranty has expired.

A:Listening/headphone/speaker port damaged

Expensive to replace. Difficult to find. Your best bet is finding another with a bad board or a broken screen to trade parts, methinks. But any audio tech or a friend skilled in audio should be able to repair fromspari parts.

Hi!

I recently needed to pull the lan plug out of the Ethernet jack on my motherboard. The plug was stuck rather hard in the socket, so I had to use some moderate force to pull it out, while rocking it from side to side a bit. At last it got out (it FLEW out!). Now I'm concerned I might have damaged the LAN port on the motherboard.

I have not noticed anything during gaming, but when I ping more than one target in Pingplotter with 1 sec or 2,5 sec intervals, I get packet loss from my router and the hop after it. Is this normal?

Also, I have tried pinging Blizzard servers. This is the result:

Ping statistics for 185.60.112.157
Packets: sent = 2686, Received = 2685, Lost = 1 (0% loss)
Minimum = 45 ms, Maximum = 79 ms, Average = 47 ms.

Is this loss of 1 packet someting that will impact gaming? So far I have not been noticing much, but if I load up youtube videos I start losing a few more packets, maybe 3 or 4 more.

Is this normal? May I have damaged my LAN port?
How would a pci express Network card (Nic) work with gaming? Could it be as good as the built in Lan port on my motherboard?

I have looked into a few Pci Express solutions, namely this: Intel EXPI9301CTBLK PCI-Express Network Adapter-Newegg.com

It is from 2008 though, so I'm concerned it might not handle things as well the in built LAN controller on my motherboard, which is much newer.

Lots of question all at once, thanks for your patience guys

A:Concerned about damaged (?) LAN port - packet loss

I'd say your onboard is probably fine. Maybe keep a running ping going for a few days and keep an eye on it. One packet is nothing. As far as PCI-E cards go, the Intel CT adapter is a good card. It should not give anything up compared to your onboard adapter, aside from maybe a little efficiency (in terms of power consumption). Don't allow yourself to get taken for $30+ buying one on newegg though, you can get those for like $10 on eBay. You could even get an Intel dual-port PT server adapter on eBay for less than that desktop CT adapter costs on newegg. Windows 10, assuming that is what you are running, handles dual LAN connections very well and will even automatically load balance (as well as give you fault tolerance) if you have them both connected.

Late yesterday afternoon, a momentary power outage from overall area electrical usage from the high temperatures outside, has resulted in my computer's ethernet port (connected to high speed cable) to stop or at best very briefly at times intermittently working. This happened even with everything plugged into a surge protector, even the cable modem coaxial cable. A second computer connected through the same service (Cox) which was not powered up at the time of the power outage is working fine for Internet. I contacted Cox technical support who were helpful, and we found the cable modem is working fine from their tests. I also connected a cell phone to the first computer (dialup speed) and it is working fine.

How can I run a diagnostic test on the built-in 10/100 Ethernet port (not a card) to confirm their is a hardware problem, other than doing this thru Mozilla or IE and find I am not connecting to web pages, before I schlep this machine to the authorized repair shop which is reputable and does good work from my experience some distance away? Some info on the computer with the connectivity problems:
* Windows 98SE PC.
* Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 laptop. It is five years old, but in my opinion it is worth replacing the Ethernet (unless more than $500), as really simply do not have time to go shopping for and set up a new computer with extra work hours, a long commute, and other things going on personally until have a significant chunk of time off during the holidays la... i know you all work so hard, i'm sorry to bother you, but i'm hoping someone will be able to help me...

my 3mo. old used simpletech 320gb ext hd w/ replacement mini b to dual male usb cable ...i have committed some sins like, leaving it plugged in for long periods of time or accidentally pulling out the cord (and i want to mention that the other day after that happened, i could hear, very faintly, like the drive was skipping a little ...and i could not internally stop the drive and had to disconnect it once more to make its blue light go off) - but after that i plugged it in and it seemed to work okay still...) and, now the mini b connection (which i think stayed in place before) is now so fragile that, literally if i barely breathe while resting the drive on my lap (w/ my laptop) the drive will no longer be recognized by my computer... i have to be PERFECTLY still, i can barely get in to look at my files before it happens again...

do you think i should try a new cable, or duct taping the mini b (not too firmly though, because pushing the plug also makes it disconnect) in place ...or do you think i physically damaged the mini b port when the cord accidentally pulled out? ...do you think my files are toast?

i know you all work so hard and might not have time to help me but, thank you so much to anyone who took the time to read this...........................

the HDMI sound is most likely off your GPU but that series seems to not have a HDMI port so that is odd. If you can make sure your onboard audio is on in your BIOS and also run the tool on this page so that you can update all your system info for us. System Info - See Your System Specs

I'm using a Dell U3415W monitor. My video card is AMD Radeon RX480. The monitor is connected via DisplayPort to my computer. The monitor is connected via HDMI to my work laptop. When I want to switch over to HDMI, it acts as if I shut off the monitor on the Displayport shifting everything over to my secondary monitor. It causes no problem, but drives me nuts because when I switch back over to DIsplayPort, I have to move my open programs around again. Is there any simple way to make this stop? If I don't use DisplayPort, and instead use HDMI/DVI combination, the behavior described does not happen. I'm guessing that is just the way it is, but I'm hoping there is an easy way to make it stop.

The ATen CS692 is one brand that suits my need. They appear to be in short supply. Prices range from $87 to $150, with RRP being around $125.

Does anyone know of another brand, one that is readily available? And under $100?

Hello guys, First post....

Last night my new laptop arrived (XPS), still getting used to windows 7 etc... but i thought i would watch something through my t.v.

Plugged HDMI cable in back of laptop straight in to t.v, changed the source and straight away i had a lovely sharpe picture of my deskop instantly.... or so i thought

im getting the middle part of my screen fine - but it is cropped so i cant see the tool bar (its too low) and the desktop icons are only veiwable if i move them closer in screen!

please help!

Ideally i want to have identical screens on both so i can use both at sam time, but currently i can only view either or atm? and the t.v one being crop means i can use it as a computer (No toolbar etc..)

I could figure this out on XP but windows 7 seems beyond me atm!

Thanks guys!

A:Using HDMI port to T.V

I'm only guessing but is there an option on your graphics card for an external monitor ?
If so it may identify the hdmi connected tv and tranmit to that as well as your PC.
You may need to adjust the screen resolution.
Is the TV calibrated to accept PC signals ?

It will be close to the DVI/VGA port. On the back of a dedicated graphics card or within the I/O shield if onboard graphics.

I have an LG smart TV for the past couple of months. ..all going well. Last night when I turned on my TV all i saw was the blue and mostly green of all the cable channels that i tried. Now, at that time I was using my component cables...so I removed them and tried an HDMI connection and got the same result. It turned out that when I changed one HDMI port for another ( I have 4 Hdmi ports ) the channels were in full color again. Does this mean that particular HDMI port is no good anymore? I thought all this time it was my cable box defected.

A:HDMI port goes bad

Hard to say. That would appear to be the case, but it doesn't explain why the component input wasn't working.

Ok well i basically want to conntect my PC to my TV to stream videos and stuff, and from what i gather it is as easy as plugging a HDMI cable in the HDMI port on my PC and then putting the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on my TV, is this correct?

My main question is however, how do i check if my PC has a HDMI port/is capable of doing this? I have had a look at the back of the motherboard and there is LOADS of slots for cabables and it's pretty hard to tell if there is actually one there, i think there is but i ain't entirely sure, i wanna know if theres anyway to check if there is one there by checking manually on the PC or something? Just to clarify there is definately one there.

And also i think my Monitor may have a HDMi port, but again i am unsure so if my motherboard didn't have a HDMi port could i just plug the cable into my monitor and it would have the same affect.

My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS if that helps..

I hope this makes sense, i just don't wanna buy a HDMI cable and then find out it's no good, i hope it has one cause i'm not gonna bother using DVI converters and stuff as it's probably not that cost affective and i just wanted to do this quickly and easily...

Thanks!

My computer has two hdmi ports one on the motherboard and one on the graphics card. only the port on the graphics cards is working. i have tried it with multiple cables and different screens and still no luck. i am trying to set up two monitors and i am looking to see if i need to change any setting or anything that will allow me to use both ports.

A:HDMI port problems

Most motherboards disable onboard video chipset when a standalone video card is used. Thus there is nothing actually wrong. It is working as designed.

If you want/need multiple monitors, you need a video card that contains the number and type of ports that you need for your monitors.

A:C50 AIO HDMI IN and OUT Port Question

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

The C50 has a HDMI-Out port as a standard feature.  The HDMI-In port is an optional feature that isn't available on all models.  Prior to purchase have the retailer verify that both HDMI ports are available on the model they are selling.

For more information on the C50 please refer to the PSREF specification sheet found at the link below.  You can click on the + to expand the listed Specifications.

It also seems the gpu is still functioning because I booted Dota 2 just fine with 60fps(vsync). Could this outage have fried the hdmi port? Should I be worried, should I return it or just buckle down with 2 dvi connectors? I was gonna test out hdmi to dvi cables to test my theory but am unsure what to do otherwise.

Is there a Radeon App to show if any active apps are using it. Nvidia does and that maybe the only way to determine. A GPU manager to force various apps to use the non default GPU, Intel but in your case Radeon may be able to be customized as well.My system have only had Optimus so I don't know how its handled but there should be a similar mechanism. How you got to that state is omitted or if it ever worked. Factory build should work but its all in the details.Call tech support is the best option if you can't see a software solution.

When I plug in the HDMI port the computer doesn't say or even recognize that there is a cord plugged into it. The tv also shows no signal. I think it is a driver issue, that a driver isn't installed on the computer. But I have no idea what driver to install. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I currently want to connect a 2nd monitor to my computer. My graphics card has one VGA output, which is what my main monitor is connected to, and an HDMI output too.

The other monitor I have only has a VGA input, I'm wondering if there's a cable or converter I can get so that I can connect my 2nd VGA monitor to the HDMI output?

Thanks

Ryan

A:VGA monitor, but HDMI port

I think,as your 2nd monitor is not hdmi compatable then your hdmi out form your computer may not give hi def capabilities.
You can get a converter transcoder here http://www.amazon.co.uk/HDfury-1080P-HDMI-Converter-Transcoder/dp/B000SOPWS8 that might do the trick. Could be right for your situation.
Please hang around here and see if anyone else can chip in with suggestions.

Just purchased a new Mobo (Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe). Haven't bought the CPU. I am waithing on the new 22nm models. After taking a close look at the display outputs on the mobo I have a choice of HDMI or Display Port. None of my existing monitors have ports for that. Soooo I guess I get a new display.

What should I be looking at as far as cables and the choice between HDMI or Display Port. I am not familiar with either one. Also I am assuming the cabling is different for the two ports.

A:Display Port or HDMI

You can find adapters to allow you to use either with DVI. If your current monitor needs replacing anyway, an HDMI-native model will be cheaper than the DP version.

It can get more complicated if you have plans for multiple monitors down the road.

HI All

I have moved to Windows 7 from Vista, finally

Computer - HP 8710w, Intel Centrino vPro, Nvidia Quadro

I connected my HDMI cable to TV Hdmi port and PC Hdmi port but no signal on TV at all. With Vista it was plug and play (just needed to adjust audio settings on PC).

I have tried downloading updated drivers but to no avail. While connected pressing the Fn key and F4 hey does nothing, the computer has no idea that something is in that port. I think the port is somehow inactive or physically damaged.

How may i check to see if the port is working and how do i check if its software related?

Many thanks

A:HDMI port not working

Are you running more then one monitor at a time? If you are then you need to right click on your desktop and select "Screen Resolution". Then find the TV on the display device drop-down menu. Then check the box "Make this my Main Display".

Let me know if that works, if not I can help troubleshoot the problem some more.

Hi all,

I've just recently got myself a new laptop (specs at bottom of message) and took it around a friends house and plugged it into their HD TV via HDMI - all worked well, the laptop recognised the TV straight away, optimized the display and away we went.

A few days go by and I decided to upgrade my own TV from an SD to an HD TV (Bush BLED24FHDL8) yeah I know cheap as chips, but it's going alright so far ... well except this problem pmsl.

Within 5 mins of setting up the TV channels I decided to plug my HDMI cable into the laptop and then into HDMI 1 slot on the back of the TV, I changed the input of the TV to HDMI 1 and.... nothing.

Going into the display settings of my laptop didn't show a 2nd display, so I changed various settings trying to get it to recognise the tv, but nothing, still no signal showing on the TV, and nothing showing on the laptop.

So I changed over the cable to the HDMI 2 slot on the TV etc and still nothing on the laptop, I fiddled with the settings again and still couldn't get the laptop to recognise there was a 2nd display, nor get any signal on the TV.

As a last resort I unplugged the HDMI cable and tried the VGA cable I have - and this decided to work, although no sound as I didn't have those cables plugged in.

When I plugged the VGA cable in, the TV and laptop recognised each other straight away and I didn't have to do another thing.

But I've still got this HDMI problem --- I've even gone out this a... Read more

I have an HP Pavilion 23-h109 TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC I'd like to output some movies and pictures from my computer onto my TV but there are only USB ports and no Video out  ports in this computer. The TV I want to connect to can take VGA and HDMI in.  It's not a smart TV, so there's no abilty to mirror as screen, etc.  so it will have to be a wired connection to the HP computer.   Is there a USB adapter that I can buy to connect the two?  Or some other method to send my video/audio output to the TV? Thanks

I have an ideacentre 700-25ISH with two HDMI ports, and i have two HD monitors.  the first monitor is connected to the "primary" HDMI port and works perfectly.  i tried connecting the second monitor to the other HDMI port, and it's not recognized.  the only way i get it to work is connecting thru the VGA port, and of course that doesn't give me HD.  i now have the second monitor connected by VGA and HDMI, but the HDMI isn't recognized.  any ideas?

I have been doing a lot of research but all I find is B/S like when they were invented, royalty rights, extra pins ect. but not just some basics answers to some basic questions.

I have a video card and display both with HDMI and Display Port ability.
At the present time I'm using HDMI to HDMI.

1. Can I use HDMI and Display Port using 2 cables at the same time on the same screen and is it a advantage or disadvantage?
Please explain.

2. If I just use Display Port will it work better that just HDMI?

I don't have a Display Port to Display Port cable at this time.
I will buy one if it will make things better.

I'm not having a problem at this time. I'm just trying to get the most out of my hardware.

1 monitor 1 cable

since DP and HDMI are both digital, I guess there is no advantage either way (unlike analog vs digital).

2 outputs usually means dual monitor support, although you'd have to check the manual. Dual screens is the best upgrade I've ever made, esp for my C4D work - also good for watching TV whilst surfing !

BTW although I mainly use DVI, I had to buy a HDMI lead recently to test some gear. I was surprised to see a note in the package to the effect 'warning do not hot swap this lead - power down all equipment before connecting'. Apparently there's some kinda live detecting pin that can cause probs when hot plugging.

Hi there,

I have a Dell Inspiron 7720 laptop that has been great for a few years now. I always use the HDMI port but recently it has stopped working. If i move the cable around in the port it comes on for a brief second but then goes off. I have tested the cable on a different computer and it works fine but also tried a different cable just to be sure.
Seems to me that the HDMI port must have failed or be failing, what would you recommend me doing considering my laptop isn't in warranty anymore?
Thanks

A:Solved: HDMI port on my laptop

The typical HDMI port on a desktop or laptop PC is output only. You would need to get capture hardware to record the game console's video output.

I'm sure the question in the title is very noob, but I just assumed that full HD monitors would connect to the graphics card via a HDMI cable?

Thanks in advance!

A:Why do monitors that are full HD not have an HDMI port on them?

Not really necessary, DVI carries the same video signal as HDMI ... just no audio. You can use a DVI to HDMI cable for your connection.

I have also tried updating the bios and going into the device manager to resolve the problem, but nothing has worked. The hdmi device does not even show up in the device manager (unless I missed it). Hi all,

Today I get to buy a BluRay player and I am going to go ahead and buy one from Walmart. They have several in stock, but I would like to talk to others that may have suggestions on what to get. I can't spend over 100, and see there are quite a few for half that much. I just would like a nice one that will last me.

I have a Roku2 so I don't need one that has the streaming on it. I wish I'd known they had those before I got the Roku, but maybe they are better separate.

Any suggestions for me before I go off half-cocked and buy something I know little about? I've been using a neighbors for a few days and it is really nice, a panasonic. I don't see any panasonics at Walmart though. Also this one I think was over 100 bucks. What I love most is just plugging the HDMI into 1 of 2 ports in my TV. So much easier than all those colored wires

Thanks in advance, for any feedback, Denise
PS All I own are DVD's so far, but maybe I will try BluRay. I choose to buy the Bluray because it plays both, but the DVD Player doesn't play bluray

Hello. It may show in Control Panel, Device Manager. I have a couple of Dell Notebooks with the HDMI port instead of a VGA port and they have a hardware control, press the Fn key plus the F1 key at the same time to toggle between the LCD panel, the HDMI port or both at the same time. So, the other day I decided to finally bring my parents into the 21st century and show them the wonders of HDMI... They were amazed. Anyway I plug the cable in and everything goes swimmingly. Until someone (my mom) decides that she wants the TV back to normal. So instead of switching the input on our multisystem TV, she pulls the HDMI cable (quite harshly) out of my computer, by the cable not the plug portion. I'm not sure what she did or how she did it... but my computer stopped reading its own speakers. I freaked and restarted the laptop. It came back on and it read the internal speakers again. Everything seemed okay, until yesterday when I tried to plug the HDMI back in. Now, it wont read the HDMI cable for audio. It transmits the picture, but the sound doesn't come out of the TV it comes out of my computer. I tried going to the speaker tab and opened the mixer, nothing was muted. I opened the device manager and it said HDMI audio was installed, opened that up and it said the device was working properly. I tried opening up the audio window to see if I could manually switch to HDMI and the option wasn't even there. I plugged in my headphones and they work just fine. I'm at a loss here. I'm beginning to think a pin was pulled out along with the HDMI cable the first time. But I don't know if its possible to replace just the HDMI port... Gah... Help me please...

I have downloaded the Realtek Drivers as mentioned here for the Windows 8 version, plug in the HDMI cable but still the output doesn't go to the TV but sound plays from the laptop speakers.

Earlier when I used this along with the Win 7 OS, it worked flawlessly. I don't know what the problem is. I've tried uninstalling the windows drivers and then installing Realtek drivers but still doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated. I've attached the screenshots of device manager as well along with audio properties.

I am trying to connect my PC to a Hisense model TV. The TV shows a "No Signal", even though it first says "retrieving data". Neither picture nor sound get through.

I have tested and found my HDMI cord works beautifully another TV. In fact, when I did this, it updated the drivers for me, so I haven't figured out what else I can do on the PC end of things.

I have tried unplugging/plugging cords, turning on/off, etc. There is only one HDMI port so I cannot try another.
I have connected to it before with a VGA cord (a long time ago), and it is not connected now.

Any advice? I cannot seem to find the model number of the TV, or at least, I am not able find it online. It is a 2011 model, around 22 inches?

What am I missing here? I have tried to turn to good ole Google for help with no avail. Help?

A:Solved: HDMI Port Problems

HDMI is not truly universal in regards to mixing computers and home video hardware.

Is the TV being recognized by the computer? If so, have you configured the video/display settings to use the "second" screen? Also, as it's a TV, you may need the desktop resolution set to a standard TV spec resolution (ie: 480P/720P/1080P @ 60hz).

SVGA outputs an analog signal.
HDMI is digital.
You would need a signal converter and those aren't very cheap.

On the Toshiba Internet site is written that model Toshiba NB520 has 1 x HDMI-out port and no VGA external monitor port.

I have searched the Internet and on each picture of this model I have only seen VGA monitor port and no HDMI-out port. Can someone explain this? I would like to buy this model with HDMI port, if there is any.

A:Toshiba NB520 and HDMI port

Every notebook has certain model name. NB520 is not the same as NB520-11N so if you can send exact model number we can find exact model specification for it with detail list of available ports.

For instance NB520-11N has HDMI port.

Maybe the pictures are not the right one but always check the specification.

Hi Gang,

I brought this GT-610 Galaxy video card with 1gb ram on Ebay a few months ago. It was brand new. It worked fine until one day I had to unplug the HDMI cord that lead to the TV (using clone view). After I did this and plugged it back in there was no more picture on the TV. It had been working fine. The cord shows up as being listed on the TV as HDMI 2 but when I look for it on the PC I see nothing. I used to see LG TV. Not it is no longer listed.

I have tried rebooting, turning PC off, updating drivers, reinstalling the drivers and taking the card out and and putting it back in. Nothing works. What do I do?

I have a Dell Inspiron 720 with an HDMI port in the back. I have been using it with my Samsung TV to watch movies on. Now it no longer works. I ordered a new cable but it keeps telling me to check power supply, cable connection, and the make sure it's on the right setting. I have 2 hdmi ports on the back of my TV but still come up with the same error condition when I switch them. It appears the port in the computer is not working anymore. I have tried everything but nothing works. I am running an ATI 4200 which is on the motherboard. Can this be fixed or would I have to buy a new graphics card to get it working again. I did swap the cables but still get the same results. Does anyone have any ideas because I have run out of them???

A:HDMI Port not working anymore

The only way to fix it is to buy a new motherboard, do yourself a favor and buy a new video card instead, Dells are not worth fixing. But if it`s under warranty well then that is a different story.

If that`s a laptop then your ONLY option is to replace the motherboard, very simple to do.

EVGA - Products - Graphics

MSI USA - Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

What keeps telling you to check the power supply ???

I have an ideacentre 700-25ISH with two HDMI ports, and i have two HD monitors.  the first monitor is connected to the "primary" HDMI port and works perfectly.  i tried connecting the second monitor to the other HDMI port, and it's not recognized.  the only way i get it to work is connecting thru the VGA port, and of course that doesn't give me HD.  i now have the second monitor connected by VGA and HDMI, but the HDMI isn't recognized.  any ideas?

Will not display on any monitor. Tried multiple different monitors. Updated all the drivers, from Intel, NVIDIA, and HP. Nothing works. Funny thing is that NVIDIA recognizes the monitor, name, make, and resolution. But no where can I find NIVIDIA recognizing the built in display on this computer. Intel recognizes the built in monitor, but doesnt see the external monitor. In the NIVIDIA contorl panel under system topology it details the HDMI port, its connected. So I got my IT people involved. They couldnt figure it out either. They tried everything. They believe that since NVIDIA sees the external monitor, but "Multiple Display Cloning" is "Disabled" (Unable to enable it) that NVIDIA doesnt recognize the built in display, it thinks the built in display is the monitor. When the external monitor HDMI is unplugged, the NVIDIA control panel clears out as if no monitor exists at all. This is a brand new HP zBook that I have had for a couple months. Been fighting this issue ever since. Desperate to get my monitor working I recently went and purchased a VGA to DVI converter and DVI to HDMI converter. That doesnt work either. I feel defeated, crushed by an HDMI port.
