radom different numbers

Q: radom different numbers

This might be easy for some of you but I just don't know.
I printed up a "word pad" and got all of these numbers. What should I do to fix it.

Have you tried to restart your computer and printer? If not do so, then try and print again.

Hey everybody.

I don't know if the title is a good one for this problem, but here goes.

I have a column that has numbers in this format: 54321-1234

Now, I want to take off the last 4 numbers, and the dash, from all the numbers in the column, using a formula. So that the output would be: 54321.

I want it so the first 5 numbers stay the same, but the dash and last 4 are gone. Is this possible?

Thanks.

Hello~~
Running windows 10 pro (+last updates), getting PC freezes all the time, no matter what i do playing/working/browsing network/watching smth... They just happens. Screen frezees, sound disappears and reboot button is only the way. Sometimes PC can run for a few days without any freezs, but sometimes they happening in 10-20 min after booting. For example, playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst (Close beta) giving me freeze every 20-40min. Black Desert Online every 1-8 hours. Working in Visual studio giving me freez in 10 hours... sometimes less.

Things, what i already did:
memtest scan: No Errors.
win chkdsk: No issues.
WDC hdd tools (Quick/Long Test): No errors. (HDDs status health status: good)
Stress test AIDA64: Passed fine.

Max temperatures:
Stress test: CPU 72C, MB 55C, GPU 78C
While Gaming: CPU 55C, MB 52C, GPU 68C
Idle: CPU 36C, MB 42C, GPU 30C

PS: Reinstalling windows wont help.

Any suggestion/ideas?
Making a image of my HDD via Acronics and port it to another HDD would help(imo problems with hdd's)?

Thanks~~

Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.
I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.
If, after you have installed a genuine copy of Windows, you still get BSOD's we'll be happy to assist you.

Hi,

For the past 7ish months I've had a hard to beat internet issue. It will go weeks without latency, and then for anywhere from an hour to a few days there will be this terrible amount of latency that makes it impossible to play games (In World of Warcraft a regular latency is 100-150 ms, when this lag wave comes on I experience over 3000 ms), and very frustrating to browse (It takes forever and a half to load, and more often than not when it does I either get "Service Unavailable - DNS failure" or "The webpage cannot be found"). There's no way this can be a bandwidth issue because it wouldn't just randomly spike from fine to 3000 ms. In the past 7ish months I've switched ISPs and routers and the problem persists. This is not a one computer problem, we have 3 computers in this house and all 3 of them experience the lag at the same time. Resetting the router doesn't do anything, and the only way to get rid of the lag is to wait it out to seemingly magically dissapear for no reason. Oh, and I have run anti-virus and anti-malware programs on all 3 computers.

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light

P.S. I'm currently with Shaw and they have a speed test feature, and when I use it my download speed is fine, 7-9 Mbps, but the ping is still 2500-3000 ms. Upload speed is 68 kbps if that means anything.

So I thought there was a problem with wmc, since it 1st came up then. Now my computer keeps on freezing randomly. I also thought it might be getting overheated, so I moved it in a more ventilated area, but it still has problems. I haven't really installed anything lately besides remotepotato, and I'm hoping to get it fixed to I can install my CETON infiniti4 that should arrive tomorrow. I ran a AVG and it was clean, and spybot search & destroy found some things that it fixed. Any help would be great.

This was asked before by KlausdB:

"I have 4 x HDDs on SATA AHCI (Intel Controller) in Native Mode and 1 x ESATA on Win 7 Pro X64.
I noted that looking in Admin. Tools\Computer Management\Storage (as an example) the 1st HDD (Port 0 in the AHCI BIOS) is showing as "Disk 2" instead of my expectation of

"Disk 1".
Selecting the Drive's Properties correctly shows the "Location 0 (Channel 0, Target 0, Lun 0)".
I also note that the Disk Number allocation in Windows will change randomly after some reboots/startups - going anywhere from "Disk 1" to "Disk 4".  I can force/replicate this

behaviour by removing the ESATA drive.
Is this expected behaviour?
It doesn't appear to create any operating issues at this stage, however, is there a way I can force the Drive to always map to (eg) Device 0 --> Disk 1, Device 1 --> Disk 2,

etc?
Thanks."

This was answered by Nicholas Li:

"As far as I know, how the disk is plugged physically and the order it is displayed are not related. For a simple example, if a drive is plugged to SATA interface 4 and it is the only disk, it will be displayed as Disk 0. If there is no related issue about
the disk order, I think we can safely ignore this."

I have three SATA hard drives :
Main system/boot drive , WD Caviar Black 1 TB, connected to the SATA 0 port
A backup drive, identical WD Caviar Black 1 TB, connected to the SATA 1 port
Another dirve, Hitachi 1 TB, connected to the SATA 2 port
When I installed Win 7, only the main drive was connected... and it remains the only drive with active/system/boot partitions.

QUESTION 1.
All three drives reporr correctly in the BIOS, and in the right order, but why is it that only one of the drive (the one on SATA port 1) has a "SATA:" prefix and the others have a "HDD:" prefix ?

QUESTION 2,
Why is it that the assignment of Disk #0, 1, 2 ( as seen in Disk Maanger or DiskPart) does not seem to have nay rhyme or reason?

I would have expected:

- the hardrive connected to SATA port O, to be assigned as Disk 0
- the hardrive connected to SATA port 1, to be assigned as Disk 1
- the hardrive connected to SATA port 2, to be assigned as Disk 2

but instead, I have:

- the hardrive connected to SATA port 2, is assigned as Disk 0
- the hardrive connected to SATA port 0, is assigned as Disk 1
- the hardrive connected to SATA port 1, is assigned as Disk 2

Just curious why that is.

I am assuming there is no way to chagne this. Its not something I would dream of reinstalling Windows 7 to correct ( even if it did correct it).

A:SATA port numbers vs assignemnt of Disk numbers/

Best advice, leave it alone. It may bother your (and others) sense of order but it won't affect how anything works, and no re-installing Windows won't change it.

hey i do a little computer repair for friends and family and such and so far this cite has been my best resource for almost every issue i've run into, but my wife has an older p4 computer i think someone may have made it custom, the tower is elitech the motherboard is assus, and everything else is from other places, (haven't looked to far into it) anyways it runs on windows xp media center it starts up ok, aside from a little bit slow, but there is a constant seamingly random beep as in there is no acutal code to it it almost seams like a random melody or something, anyways it continues during the use of the computer and it seams to get more constant when your trying to use applications or music, i think it may be the sound card but i can't find anything that seams out of the ordinary that may be causing it, and occaisionly it seams to beep everytime i hit a key on the keyboard, or scroll with the mouse button, it doesn't seam to affect the performance, just drives everyone nuts. also if i have no speakers connected or i turn the sound on the computer to all mute, it comes from the internal speaker, but when there are speakers connected it will come from them instead and the volume will increase when i turn it up, i think it may be the soundcard, but i thought i might as well post it in case anyone has any better ideas, thanks

It does not look like Wordpad has the ability to show line and column numbers. Does anyone know if there is a way to show that in Wordpad? Thanks.

Subject: Win XP SP 2 - Random System Crashes - Reason Unknown - Help!

Hello, ok I've performed 4 system wipes in two weeks so I doubt it's an OS problem. The problem is I can't catch the system error message. The computer restarts 10 seconds after the message comes up. From what I caught it said something about hardware and drivers. Later today I will compile and post all the logs and systems specs I can think of.

I've already begind a systemmatic removal of PCI and AGP cards.

So any particular logs you would want me to upload/post to the thread? Any recommended applications I should run to figure this out? MaverickUK, As you suggested I disabled the auto restart. Hope it helps. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

I installed a new video card: HIS HD 6850 IceQ X Turbo 1GB GDDR5. I've done all possible drivers, driver cleaners etc. and I keep getting those blue screens. Any ideas guys? Could it be because of the new video card?

Thanks for the help guys and girls.

Sorry for spelling, this has gone on since the 31 and I'm starting to go crazy.

EDIT***** This is the first time I've had BSOD, I previously had a PNY GTX 430, and never has this happend. So it must be the video card and maybe the PSU to give me these errors right?

A:BSOD, 0x116, 0x124 and 0x024 - Radom

What happens is, I'm using the PC, the screen either goes black and reboots or go blue with vertical lines or white with vertical lines.

Then I get those BSOD, I have no clue what going on, I decided to be the build your own PC, I wish I hand't, sure you pay more money for pre builds but its no where near the hassle i've gotten.

Sorry people pf W7 forums.

When I click on a link in Google, IE may or may not go where it's suppose to. Sometimes it gets redirected to another web page that has nothing to do with where I wanted it to go. Also IE will open a new window and go where ever it pleases.

Malwarebytes, SpyBot, and Avira updated and ran as of this morning with no issues found.

First computer was acting slow/freezing. Could move around mouse but couldnt click on anything then after awhile the mouse would freeze to. Also when I tried login into a certian website, right after i log in, even if the login info was wrong it would ask me to enter my online banking info. I do not have online banking with them so I called the website up. They told me to do a virus/spyware scan. I had McAfee which found nothing then I use Webroot and it found a Mal/Behav-031 and Mal/Generic-A virus. Webroot quarantined them. But my computer is still slow and the website askig for online banking info still shows up. I tried with both Internet Explore and Firefox. I can only use Internet Explore right now because when I try Firefox I get a Not Responding message. The website im getting the fake page from is www.usaa.com

*edit I was able to get Firefox working now. delete old Firefox profile and made a new one. by doing Start>Run>firefox.exe -ProfileManager

Hey I have been having this problem for the past few months;

My PC will just freeze, everything become unresponsive and I am forced to reset the PC.
This happens at a random time, can be anything from 5 min to a few days after I turn my PC on this will happen - if I am watching a video or playing a game the audio will still transmit for about 10-20 more seconds then will start looping/stalling

This problem has happened the most while watching videos/movies etc on my media player (i have tried multiple media players, will still get the same problem)
It has happened about 2-3 times while playing games

I have tried a few things that I got from google searching this problem

Replaced my SATA cable from mobo to HHD.
Replace my HHD with a brand new one. (I have two HDD now - one is no longer connected, specifically the old drive)
Multiple fresh installs thinking that there was a file conflict.

I actually do not know what to do at this point - I have a feeling that there could be something wrong with my mobo, but as I am a uni student I do not have the funds to go out and buy a new one to test this theory.

If anyone else has ANY suggestion or even better A SOLUTION to this problem, please do tell.

Side note - when I was checking my my system info I noticed that there was a something wrong with my RAM - its says i have 16gb installed but only 13.4gb available (http://puu.sh/gGkkw/229726295c.png)
Just cheeking, does that mean my RAM chips might be damaged and need replacing?

A:Computer randomly freeze/hungs up at radom intervals - Forces Reset

Hello,
I see in your system specs that you are using an ATI R9 290x.
My bet is that your Vcard is the culprit, specially since you mention that it happens mostly when watching videos.
The issue has to do with Power States and the shift between idling with 2d clocks and jumping back to active 3d clocks...
Depending on the card, people have reported fixes with BIOS updates, etc. Since my card didn't have a new BIOS available, my fix involved OC'ing the 2D clocks by 1.5x the idle speeds (300mhz to 450mhz) using Asus GPU Tweak and slightly upping the Vcore Voltage using MSI's Afterburner.
I struggled with mine for weeks on end, but this finally fixed the issue for me (no freezes for a few months.)
Check out the Sapphire forum post on the subject. There are some very helpful folks there with a lot of experiences similar to yours. Several other threads are available for various cards, ie. the 4 gb vs. 8 gb versions.
The solution is in sight!
Regards-

After running Malwarebytes to remove the WindowsRecovery Virus, many problems still occur on my desktop. Shortyly after I start my desktop, (1)random unknown audio files play. I have no idea where this is coming from or why this is happening. (2) I no longer have an accessories folder as one of the all programs option. (3) I am unable to see files as they are associated with applications. When I click on start -> all programs -> microsoft office -> instead of seeing the applications associated with microsoft office it says empty. Same with itunes and all the other applications that appear in the all programs window. I can look elsewhere and see the files but they are not asscoiated with any of the applications. (4) I don't think I have all of the administrator services on my control panel (5) Lastly, I keep getting redirected with I use google searches on the internet... Please help if you are able to.

Hi,
I have some reference books I use and in all of them I have this problem:

The number written on the document pages doesn't match the number my pdf reader says, and for every document it has a different offset. That is, for example when I go to page 16, then on the page itself it's written that it's page 5 and not 16.

It's an annoying problem.
Is there any way to fix this by changing the pdf numbering or is there any workaround?

Thanks

I want to upgrade my laptop RAM from 4 GB to 6 GB. Before buying the 4 GB RAM I have to know the exact pin of the RAM, and I don't know the exact numbers of pin in the RAM. My laptop is Ideapad Y550 4186. So how can I know the numbers of pins in the RAM without having to open the case? Please help!

A:How to know numbers of pin in RAM?

It's 204 pin, but you need to know more than that.

That's a Lenovoe Ideapad Y550. I entered that make and model into the configurator at Crucial.com and it came back with the following compatible RAM choices for that laptop.

Computer memory upgrades for Lenovo IdeaPad Y550 (All Types) Laptop/Notebook from Crucial.com

3 of those choices are for 2 GB sticks.

You can shop for those same Crucial part numbers from your source or buy 204 pin RAM from another brand as long as it has the exact same specifications.

Your keypad is activated. Look on your keyboard for the Fn key, then on your keyboard for a symbol that looks like a "number keypad". It is normally the Fn + F11 key, but without looking up the information on your system it may differ. To activate and deactivate, you have to hold the Fn key and press the key that has the number pad on symbol on it.

A+ Certification for Dummies describes the Pentium processor as having a 32-bit address bus, 32 bit registers, and a 64 bit data bus. 7 pages later, it describes the Itanium as Intels first 64-bit processor. I checked with an IT associate of mine, and he said the processors size refers to the address bus. PC Guide says it refers to the register size within the CPU. The article went on to say every processor introduced in the last decade, from the earliest 386SX to the latest Pentium II or K6, is a 32 bit processor, based on this definition. I know Im ignorant, but Im trying to understand. There are dozens of numbers on a cpu datasheet. Which one are they talking about when they say Its a 32 bit processor?

The only build that has been officially released by Microsoft is 7000. However, others have been leaked, viz 7022, 7048, 7057 and 7068 (and others). These can be downloaded via torrents (use Google). In all cases, the same product key will work. I recommend a clean install for all OSes, especially beta versions.

Hello
I am pretty new to web creation. I am using FrontPage2000
I am checking my efforts with web tools (currently checking at http://www.echoecho.com/toolhtmlinspector.htm)

Question
How do I determine the line number in the HTML page?
(I tired counting, but that didn't seem to do the trick - I tried to copy & paste to Word & number the lines - nope)
I saw a post by 'HexStar' and she had an image listing line numbers - would love to know who to have that kind of view

I am trying to fix some syntax errors and the reports indicate examples such as -
line 27 Error: empty container element <P>.
line 77 Error: illegal context for <INPUT> - must appear in <FORM> element.
I am not worried about the errors at this point, just how to identify the line number (I want to 'try-fail-try again' to learn how to correct the errors myself)

Thank you

hi,

I got a question to be solved. Does anyone know how to write the code to increment the product number and pass it on to the next page, to be added to the database, so the user doesn't have to type it in? Basically, i want to take the last product number from the product page, increment it to the next number (the product number or any id's has to be hidden on the product page), so if the last number in the db is 0012 i want the next number to be 0013, pass it to the addprod page and show it on the form and then have it stored in the db with that particular product - so every product has a unique product number.
any help would be great

A:ASP - incrementing numbers

I don't know if i understand your question (sorry for being stupid). The way i see it is that you want to let your users to add products (insert records) to your database with unique ID numbers, is this right?

If it is, its a simple operation, especially if your using MM Ultradev.

What are you writing the script in, ASP, Coldfusion, PHP, etc.? And what database are you using, Access, SQL?

Hi and welcome!

Well, the answer to your question is YES, but what you are doing is illegal, so I won&#8217;t be able to help you. Besides that, if you enter the number and it does take it, you&#8217;ll have to ACTIVATE it and that should fail because the machine is already activated on the Dell system.

I figured I would at least fill you in on this before it sits unanswered for a longer period of time until the Admins get to it and close it.

I tried through the control panel and change the neccassary but still the numbers stays english. If I completely in the control panel changed to arabic, all the english date and numbers are in arabic.

Is there a way that when pressing the ALT SHIFT the numerical also change to arabic ( text is fine in arabic ).

A:Arabic numbers

First, what program are you using?

it happens when you dont have an arabic font installed and selected as your text style. For example, if your default font is Times and you switch to arabic keyboard, it will let you type arabic but won't type the arabic numerals.

if you are typing in word, try to change over to an arabic font (not Adobe Arabic).

P.S. you will be able to type english numbers when you switch the keyboard to english and your font is an arabic font.

Came home today and computer wouldn't type numbers. Num lock was on but turning off didn't help.

Kid had been playing games today.

Searched online and microsoft support had this recommendation for XP:

Turn off the MouseKeys accessibility feature. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type access.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Click the Mouse tab, and then click to clear the Use MouseKeys check box.
3. Click OK.

I followed those instructions, rebooted and now i can type the numbers 5 and 6 but not seven or any other numbers. I do type a domain containing 5 and 6 from time to time and it will be in my cache so maybe that's why i can type these numbers only.

Any advice on how to cure this?

Thanks

What gives? We have a wireless Linksys system with a G router and G wireless card in the computer having problems. A month or so ago we kept losing the connection and LinkSys recommended putting in the DSN numbers for the connection. They thought that some of the security and spyware protection programs might be interfering with the automatic detection settings. We did that and it seemed to work ok for a while. Now

In the last three days the Network Properties TCP/IP properties, the DSN numbers keep being erased. The TCP/IP setting for the wireless adapter is not there either.

Anyone have any idea what could be up? How do you get the wireless card specific TCP/IP listing back?

I've had this dsl modem for a couple years now and have always to my knowledge been able to use it via only one ip number.i've been streaming video using webcamxp and other software/.today my modem began acting stupid by disconnecting once an hour and if I shut off pc of at all,i wind up having to manually reset the modem by unplugging it for a few seconds and then back in again.i eventually noticed that while the webcam is streaming video ,my lan connection on the pc shows the ip number i'm familiar with while my dsl modem shows one that's new(so to speak)..so I entered both ip numbers in to the webcamxp and found that the modem streams using either ip number..if I go to the what's my ipnumber site,it will display whichever number I have entered in to the webcamxp software//.is it normal for a modem to use 2 numbers as I don't believe this has occurred in my case before.i'm wondering if it has to do with the modem suddenly disconnecting now and then and too, having to reset it everytime I boot.i have att dsl ,no live landline just dead phone cord from the modem to the wall.

I am using an NT box as a router for a small network, I have NT 4, SP5, IE5, IIS 4, & RRAS installed on the server.
I am running NT 4 on the other box.
Everything works like a top except I can not ping the router IP number from the other boxes on the network.
I can ping the IP number assigned to the NIC on the server, and can ping out to the internet, browsers, chat rooms, & e-mail all work fine. But because I can not ping back to the router IP number I can not enter my pow chat rooms which run on the server. I have had this system working fine once before, but due to a reformat on the server I lost this part and am just overlooking something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is not a problem. Just a curiosity that I am unable to explain. Maybe someone has the answer.

1. When I look into Computer or computer management, the size of my system is about 16.3 GBs. The data is on another partition and there are no restore points - shadowstorage is zero.

2. If, however, I run WinDirStat, it shows my system size as 18.1 GBs. I fail to see from where the additional 1.8 GBs come from.

Hi, I am trying to make a comparison against a set of data and rank them accordingly. The data can comprise up to 150 rows.

I compare data in column 1, get the ranking from there and if there is a tie for certain rows, I compare data on column 2 only for the rows that are tied. This is repeated until there is no more tied data or until all the columns have been exhausted.

I have attached the sample data and also the expected answer for easy reference. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help with this.

A:Ranking a set of numbers

You didn't said about the order of the ranking should it be upward or downward?
Also I'm not sure I understood the process, cause the way I understood it, the ranking should be a little bit different?
Do you just wanna the ranks or you wanna to sort the data too?

Using Windows 98 with Microsoft Internet Keyboard. All current upgrades installed. Pentium III processor. MS Optical Intellimouse.

Everything works fine except the number pad on the right side of the keyboard. NumLock is on but nothing transmits to programs when a key is depressed. With numlock off, keypad functions work normally as arrow keys. Numbers keys at top of board work okay too.

Tried upgrading with latest MS drivers for both keyboard and mouse and pouring over startup BIOS options but no joy - same ole, same ole.

Any suggestions?

Edge grew .6%, passing Safari to regain the # 4 spot. Folks, Edge is not growing as fast as Windows 10, partly because upgraders get their old browsers upgraded with 10. After July 29, I expect Edge to grow even more, as people buy new computers with Edge as the default browser.

I am going to skip the story behind this deal and ask how to get through to Windows and explain my delima. I tried to activate XP PRO after a complete transfer from one disk to an oem disk with XP Home. I was told that my numbers where bad after trying to activate, and that was it. I was not transferred or given a chance to talk to a real person, just contact vendor to whom sold me the disc. I had never had a problem in the past using this product. I have had the disc for over a year now with no problems. It has been installed several different times on several different computers. I had bought the disc along with the sp2 update install disc. It was selling as Windows XP PRO with SP2, Anyway, I do not expect help in a matter concerning bootleg products, but would just like to know a number I can use to get hold of Windows support personal and find out what the deal is. I can understand to many installs, but with that you can at least try and get new numbers and or talk to someone.
Donk

A:[SOLVED] bad numbers

Donk here again, It sounds as though I may be screwed. I Googled activation and found a site that has explained what the deal might just be. I new the disc had unlimited installs which meant an OEM install disc. Like I said, all had been good for a little over a year maybe two not sure, but they have now put into place a program that limits OEM install disc's. I just happen to have been sold said product. I had also noticed that after trying to return to said site it no longer offers my product, or any product dealing XP, Office, or Vista. I guess when you buy a product for a price that seems to good to be true well... it is. Buyer beware. It's called greed, I wanted something for nothing, and I got nothing.

Sometimes when you uninstall a program you have to make sure it deletes entirelly, sometimes they leave the main folder behind and that's why if you try to reinstall it will show you some of the options you had before, this may be the case.

I am in the market for some new RAM. But I can't remember the type I bought so I'm using CPU-Z to help tell me.

What I'm curious to know is what does "PC3-10700" mean? Is it just an identifier label? Does it represent speed or anything?

Currently CPU-Z says my RAM is PC3-10700 667 Mhz (1333?) DDR3. I'm trying to determine if I can buy PC3-10666 RAM and it will work.

Or use the motherboard brand/model to pull the specs of the motherboard and see which types are supported.

Yes, when you set up rapid mode, it tests the ram disk and not the SSD itself. Those are about the expected numbers.
