Hi, I have my own domain's email which uses Outlook itself.
I can login via Live.com or Outlook.com and it works fine but I am unable to set it up via Outlook 2016.

Microsoft has provided me the following mail configuration in the Outlook.com settings:
Server name: pop-mail.live.com
Port: 995
Encryption method: SSL

Server name: smtp-mail.live.com
Port: 587
Encryption method: TLS

But when I use this I get the following error:

A:Outlook configuration for custom domain email?

Can you clarify which Outlook you mean for your domains email? Do you mean the Outlook.com webmail interface as a send-and-receive account / Windows Live Custom Domain account? Or directly to your domains mailbox from the Office Outlook desktop application?

In your second screenshot it looks like you are using your own domain username and password with the Outlook.com mailserver settings. The Outlook.com mailserver will obviously reject that unless you have previously set it up as a Windows Live Custom Domain before Microsoft discontinued that service.

If you are using a Windows Live Custom Domain, according to this article it should still be compatible with Outlook.com Preview.

Q. I have a custom domain configured with Outlook.com. Will I be able to keep it?
A. Yes, if you have a custom domain configured on Outlook.com today, it will continue to work after this update.

Two out of our 3 company email addresses are receiving mail, but not sending mail. We've tried resetting the outgoing port, restarting the computer, restarting Outlook, and checking the email address and passwords. Here are the two error messages we're getting:

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was '[email protected]'. Subject 'Re: your email', Account: 'mail.ourwebsite.com', Server: 'smtpauth.sbcglobal.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '451 4.7.7 Mail access temporarily suspended for 68.250.190.136**BCMI**nlpi129', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Task 'ourwebsite.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to send the message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 451 4.7.7 Mail access temporarily suspended for 68.250.190.136**BCMI**nlpi129'

Any suggestions?

What do these errors mean - they are sometimes automatically sent back to me after emailing out
"Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:"
and I get one of these two reasons;
"Reason: SMTP transmission failure has occurred"
or,
"Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address"

A:Outlook Email error

smtp is small message transfer protocol . smtp is the messenger that carries your mail from outlook to the email server on the internet. what its saying is that it is either unable to connect with your emil providor ( possible reasons , not being online , wrong smtp settings , attempting to use an cancelled email account) or it does try to connect and either your email address or the email address your trying to send it to is being rejected by the server.

The number of unread emails (5) is not the same as the actual number of unread emails (8). Any clue why this might be occurring?

Also, we have an inbox setup so the public can send us questions and requests for information. There are some emails that come in that can only be seen by the email administrator and not by the users that have rights to access the inbox. Why would some incoming emails be viewable by only the administrator and not by the users who can see other emails in the inbox??

A:Outlook 98 unread email error

The first thing I would check is the view that you are using to display the inbox. Open the inbox, goto view, current view and try a couple of the other view to see if that makes a difference. There could be a filter or some other issue with the view that you are using.

Hello,

I have a user who only periodically gets the Outlook error: "Cannot create the email message because a data file to send and receive could not be found. To add a data file, such as personal folders file, double click the mail icon in Control Panel."

--They are able to login to Outlook, it is ONLY when trying to open new email that that message appears. This does not happen all of the time and restarting Outlook usually corrects it. However they had to restart Outlook 4 times because of this yesterday.

--Outlook 2003, XP, IBM Thinkpad in "docked status", they also use a Blackberry.

--I have checked the PST files and ran scanpst.exe with no failures reported.

I am not sure what else to check. This is hard since it doesn't happen every time and Outlook, itself, opens fine. It is only when trying to open new email

Thanks for your help

Since Monday this week I am seeing this message several times a day. I've no idea where in the chain it originates, or even whether its a Microsoft issue or something else.

A:Outlook Email Security Certificate Error

Something I have tried after a bit of research, changing the address of the problem page. I have Outlook as the first (home page) of one of three tabs that open with IE. I copy and pasted the address from the browser header into notepad for reference and then accessed Outlook via the link from Bings page. Again I copy and pasted the address and compared the two. Different ! So I have now set IE up to use the 'new' address. I'll keep you posted

I tried to set up my college email (.edu) in recently installed outlook 2010. I did something about Exchange (I don't remember exactly what I did..) when outlook first popped up, and now it won't let me do anything.
When I open outlook, it comes up with the error message: "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. "
I click okay and a box comes up wanting me to enter Microsoft Exchange Server and Mailbox. I try putting my info in but I don't know exactly what to put. If I click okay, an error comes up. "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file...is not an Outlook data file (.ost)."
I click okay and it completely closes outlook.
I've tried to click file in the main window, but it either doesn't let me or says, "Not Responding."
How do I fix it? Thanks!

Can someone please help me fix this? I live in Outlook, so this is a huge issue for me. Your kind consideration is greatly appreciated!

There is a .pst fix tool included with Microsoft Office. It's called scanpst.exe and is located at:

I labeled this "Critical" in the title because this problem affects my livelihood. As an independent sales contractor I work with many different companies and use their incoming and outgoing mail setting on their servers.
I keep getting an "550 Relaying not allowed" message. I know this means that I'm connecting via one ISP, but using an email server belonging to another ISP. It does not seem to make any difference what setting I use, 90% of the time my emails are returned to me. They may or may not go through if I resend at a later time. I also get the same error message if I use Mozilla Thunderbird.
The IT guy at one company I work with is no help at all.
Anyone have thoughts on how I might proceed from here on correcting this problem.

A:Email error in Outlook 2003/Critical!

I too have a continuous problem with rejected e-mails from the system administrator stating 550 Relay not permitted on 208.66.120.7 and 72.168.194.125. This seems to happen randomly at anytime. Sometimes, I am able to unplug my rounter and cable connection or reboot my machine and e-mails will go through. Today, nothing helps. My ISP, Go-Daddy says it is the company providing my high speed internet service and that companies says it is Go-daddy doing it. A systems guy told me that my ISP is randomly assigning IP addresses and they are on a Spammer Prohibited list. That is why they are being rejected. I was told that Verizon was sued over doing this and that we should request a permanent IP address. Not sure if we can do that. In the meantime, I have not gotten any answers and continue to loose all kinds of productivity. Makes me want to throw the whole thing out.

A:MS Outlook Error - 0x800CCC0F can send, but not recieve email

Do you have Norton Anti-Virus? If so, try turning off the option to scan emails and see if that stops the problem. If it does, try turning email scanning back on but also tick the 'protect against timeouts' option. Test again.

I read that many suspect a bug in one of the NAV updates caused this problem. It was fixed in a later update, but if you have NAV I'd hope you would be regularly updating it anyway.

Sending email out of Outlook 2003 or Outlook Express 6 results in this error:

Symantec Email Proxy

Your email message to [email protected] with the subject of xxxxxxxxxxx was unable to be sent because the connection to our mail server was interrupted.

OS is XP Home, SP 2. Norton AV 2004.

Here is what I've tried:

Tried configuring, then disabling Windows Firewall, then removing it completely by rolling back SP2. No effect on the problem.

Eudora works fine with Norton AV email scanning on. No problems. So I know server settings/passwords, etc. are fine. Only happens with Outlook and Outlook Express.

Tried turning off Norton's outgoing email scanning, but this caused send in Outlook to fail. Think I forgot to restart client after making this change. Will test next this next time, but suspect it will work.
So, how to I configure to use Outlook with Norton's protection fully enabled?

Thanks!

Hello ....

I have a client with a problem I cannot solve.

He is using Outlook in Office 2010 connecting to a Hotmail account via MAPI.

Sending and receiving email from Outlook creates the error 0x8004102A (Send/Receive Error).

Folders created either in Outlook or on Live.com are synced almost instantly so there appears to be no sync problem between his PC and the web.

However mail sent to the Hotmail address of my client can take up to half an hour or more to arrive in the Live.com inbox. When it does eventually arrive it syncs almost immediately with his PC reinforcing the view that the problem lies with Live.com.

What happens is that my client will receive clusters of emails at various intervals with nothing inbetween. Sending mail is fine - it is sent instantly and arrives as expected in good time. The problem appears to be the slowness of emails into the Live.com account.

This occurs with just one email or a number. It is NOT down to the amount of mail.

I hope I have explained this so it can be understood. I would welcome any suggestions or help to solve this problem. (M$ is of no help at all sadly)

Many thanks

I am trying to help a client with a outlook email issue. He has two computers in the house and two email accounts. A desktop and a laptop that both connect to the same network just one LAN and one wireless connection. he has a verizon email account and an outboundlcc.com email account. The verizon email address can send and receive on both computers. His nboundlcc.com email cannot send from the desktop or laptop and gets a smtp error when trying to send out. This does not happen on the laptop when he uses a USB verizon wireless adapter. He thinks the problem started when he switched his router to a netgear Dual Band router. Could the router have something in the settings preventing his email from sending. Why would it not happen with his verizon email and does happen with his nboundlcc email. He also has Norton on the computers, which might be blocking the emails from going out. I am just speculating and am unsure what this error could be caused from. I checked both computer outlook settings for the nboundllc.com email and they are identical. Any ideas?

Hi,

I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Instructor and cannot figure out how to sync more than one migrated Outlook Express account. Get error code 0x80072726. After successfully syncing one account, I have spent 5 days trying to sync the second account.

Under Outlook sync settings, I see ?snt406-m.hotmail.com? as the Server for the account that?s working. The account that doesn?t work does not have any Server option.

I used PCmover Express to migrate 18,000 ?Outlook Express? emails from an old XP PC to a new windows 10 PC. I do see the DBX files that were migrated. One migrated email account synced fine. The other account is "not synced yet" after days of syncing. Have no idea what to do next.

If there are two Bellsouth.net email accounts, is there something different I need to do to add the second account? Please advise.

Thanks,

Hi everyone

dont know how but all of a sudden my Outlook 2003 hangs up whenever i click the "send/recieve" button. It downloads my emails from the POP server at almost a byte/sec or lesser rate and eventually times itself out, giving me the following error:

"
Task 'pop6.physiology.wisc.edu - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)."

Further, the icon in the lower right corner of my Outlook 2003 window says that "Microsoft Office Outlook is synchronizing folders" and remains that way.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, Outlook, MS Office and also tried System restore (to various, system generated restore points). None of it has worked, further the system is not able to restore to any point. I should also mention that i have a Norton/Symantec firewall installed. i have tried disabling that but to no effect. Also, if any use, here is the log from HJT, i cant seem to find anything suspicious:

I use incredimail and have switched from Yahoo web hosting to Bluehost web hosting. I have an email account associated with Bluehost that I am trying to configure to use with Incredimail. I have set up the POP 3 and SMTP servers and all was well until yesterday. Every time I try to send mail and ONLY sometimes when I download mail I get the following error message. I need help, cuz I have no clue what this means or how to fix it.A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.Thank you for any help.Sheila

A:Email Configuration

I did a search for your error and got the following site:http://groups.google.com/groups?q=A+certif...groups&ct=titleI think it is a security problem or authentication problem some email servers require some sort of authentication and all you might have to do is enable authentication. I do not use incredimail but I am sure they have some sort of walk thru that shows setup or some sort of directions on how to setup the mail, I suggest going to their web site and searching out how to set up incredimail for this task. Oh when you find it you might want to print out the setup info for reference.

I have a minor problem. I run Opera 8.50, and (experimenting with security), I disabled Java and javascript, which resulted in my not being able to access my Yahoo mail accounts. However, I was asked if I wanted to go back to the old style of Yahoo mail. I said yes and it did, indeed, go back to the old Yahoo mail format. I decided later I didn't particularly like it, so I enabled Java and javascript im my browser, but I find that I still have the old look Yahoo mail, and can't figure out how to restore the new one. I did not opt to change one of my three Yahoo accounts, and so retaned the "new look" for that account. Can anyone tell me how get the "new look" back on the other two accounts? (I have signed up to get the beta of the "newest look" Yahoo Mail, but haven't heard from them.) jfh

Hello Friends,

I have been struggling with an email configuration problem for days and have tried everything I know to try. Hopefully someone has been down this road and can help me. I have two late model desktops and both are running XP with lots of memory. I have been on dial up for years and my network was working fine. I recently switched to Wildblue satellite internet service and have been reconfiguring all my email accounts. I have 5 users on each computer (my wife and kids). I installed a new Linksys WRT54G v5 router. It is a wireless/wired combo. My email is serviced by Dreamhost via my mail address at rexbernard.com. Here is my dilemma:

Out of 10 email accounts, I have successfully configured 9 of them. They all use mail.rexbernard.com on the incoming and outgoing servers. They all connect to the internet and work fine. However on one computer I cannot seem to get my mail server to accept my user name or password. It is like it is jinxed or something. I have messed with this for days and have tried everything I can think of. Here is some additional info.

1. My network works fine, as far as both computers accessing the internet, but the computers don't share files because I have not figured out my problems on that yet. However, if that was the problem then why would 9 out of 10 email accounts work fine?

2. My mail program is Thunderbird. However Outlook has the same problem. Which is logging on to mail.rexbernard.com.

3. On my problem computer, I am the... Read more

May sound silly but have you verified that the account is still active?

It seems you have covered pretty much everything you can do you end so that leaves something at the server end as the probably cause.

Do you have a webmail feature with this account? If yes, are you able to log on to that without a problem? Can you send emails to the email address that belongs to the problem account...do any get returned at all?

Not sure how to get Outlook Express to steal back your Outlook email, but here's how you stop Outlook from stealing the email in the 1st place:

(1) In IE, go to Tools >> Internet Options (you can also access Internet Options from Control Panel).
(2) Click on the Programs tab.
(3) Click the drop-down next to Email, and change it to Outlook Express.
(4) Click Apply and OK.

Within a few weeks I'd like to come up with a domain name and a long-term (lifetime?) email address. Call it [email protected] for illustration purposes. From what I've read, one of Gmail's strengths is its spam filter, so I'd like to route [email protected] mail through a Gmail account (call it [email protected] for the moment) so that it can be spam-filtered. I'll use the Web-based Gmail account when I am online, but I'd like to use an IMAP Thunderbird account when I'm offline, as well as an iPhone IMAP account on my iPhone.

The question is: Can I do all of this and have my Gmail account 'transparent'? In other words, I'd like to AVOID having the [email protected] address ever show, but rather have any reply mail or original mail from me go out under the [email protected] address. Actually, let me broaden that -- if I have other email accounts to route through Gmail, I'd like to have any replies go out with a return address that reflects the particular email account of mine to which it was sent.

If there is a better configuration, I'm open to it. But at the present it appears that the best combination is a personal email address routed through a transparent Gmail account, with Thunderbird for off-line use.

Can this be done while keeping the Gmail account transparent?? Is there a better configuration than what I've suggested? For what it's worth, I'm a private party, not a ... Read more

A:What's the perfect email configuration with Gmail, Thunderbird, iPhone etc.

You can do this, just have all the email that you receive to the [email protected] email address forwarded to your [email protected] email address.

Then on Thunderbird add both [email protected] and [email protected], then you receive all your email filtered into your Google inbox and when you send an email you select [email protected] as your email address to send with.

This makes your Gmail account 'transparent'.

How do I get Outlook to autofill?

Also when I click the 'TO' button in the new email window, it says that there is no address book!
but when I click the address book icon in the main Outlook window there are email address there?!

Any ideas how I can get this to work correctly again.

Hello.
I've just found a pst file with all my old email. I'd like to put them back on the server (hotmail) but before doing that I've seen that some of them were not recived (or sent) to my actual address (@hotmail.com) but to an old one (@infinito.it). So I was thinking to export them from outlook 2013 to CSV, modify that address into the new one and then import them back on outlook 2013. The problem is that when I export them to CSV, in that file they don't have the date (received or sent) and so when I get them back on outlook 2013 they miss that info.
Can anyone help me doing this? I've been told that VBA macro should be useful for this, but having a look in it I have no idea of what I sould do.
Ah, instead of outlook 2013 I can also use thunderbird (45.3.0) if it's easier with it, but then I'd have to convert that pst file.
Thanks!

Hello.
I have a large email group - over 200 names - in Outlook Express Address Book. A number of outdated email addresses bounced back to me. I wish to remove them from my Group. But OE seems to list only names, not email addresses. I cannot find a way to search by email address. Therefore I am faced with the task of looking up each name's properties to see if it's the email I need to eliminate.
Surely there must be a better way!
Or should I just find a better program to use? If so, suggestions?

Guys

I’m having a problem with configuring Outlook 2000, I have setup 2 mail accounts under 2 separate mail profiles using the Internet mail setting but when I send/receive I only want Outlook to prompt me for the password on initial send/receive and be able to send/receive when I want for the rest of the time without having to retype the password each time until the program is closed (I don’t want Outlook to remember my password). Like in Outlook Express - once you have opened the program and done one send/receive verifying the password, as long as you don’t close the program you can send/receive without having to retype the password each time. So basically there is only an initial send/receive until the program is closed.

So after messing about with the settings, I changed the accounts from being Internet mail to the Workgroup setting, within that there is an option to set auto send/receive after the password has been verified initially, and I thought problem solved…. however as I have two profiles setup one for each email account when I use this Workgroup option and access either of the profiles it seems to send/receive for both email accounts no matter which profile I select. I checked the properties of the accounts and it seems to set a default on the accounts so it always send/receives from that account if even if its not linked to that mail profile, I don’t seem to be able to set a default for each email account/profile.

Desperately in need of help!

I need to build a .iaf file containing Internet Account such that I can import the file into Outlook thereby creating a new account.

And the reason for this - I need to distribute an individually configured account to just over 6000 people - so some tool to build the .iaf file would be great.

Ideas will be welcome. Thanks

I'm a little confused about what you want to do. Do you want to create one account, and distribute it to 6000 people, or are you looking to create individual accounts for all 6000 people?

If it is the first option, can't you create the account on your system, export the iaf file, and mail all 6000 people with it, and directions on how to import it?

Hi

I have just installed Outlook 2007 (non Beta) and when I first open it, it attempts to migrate account settings and then fails 'Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the incovenience'... blah blah blah.

This also happens when I am invited to open it in Safe mode and also after I have gone through the repair process.

any ideas out there?

Oh a quick PM - I Installed the Office 2007 Suite to cure a small problem I had in Access 2003 - after a while I experienced a crash in Access 2007 too and I am now being invited to run Office Diagnostics because of the frequent number of crashes

A:Outlook 2007 Crashes During configuration

I installed the full suite, and my outlook 2007 crashes each time I try to open an e-mail. It does not matter if I am trying to read it, or forward it.

The system is a p 2.3, 786 ram, 2 400 gig disk drives.

Also I noticed that outlook 2007 is trying to use over 1/4 of a gig of ram, where by on my other boxes outlook 2003 only uses about 40k.

I can't figure this out for the life of me.

I have 4 email accounts that I check with Outlook; I have set my main one ("Utexas") as the default.

So whenever I want to send a new message, it uses the "Utexas" account to send the message. However, whenever I REPLY to messages, it uses another account! But I want it to use my default account. Anyone run into this problem or know how to fix it? thanks!

Now that I've upgraded to MS Office 2003 I'm having a problem synchronising my Palm with Outlook. I have to stay at the computer. I can't walk away and do something else, because when it comes time to synchronise the address book a dialogue box pops up asking if it's all right to let this program access the book. Protection against hackers.

Is there any way I can configure this so that it knows that it's ok for my synchronising program--the standard one that comes with Palm--to access the address book? As it stands now I have to do it every time by hand.

Windows XP.

A:Outlook address book access configuration

This really doesn't answer your question, but how often do you need to syncronize your address book? Can't you choose to do it manually? Do your addresses change that much that once/twice a week sync couldn't be done manually?

Just curious.

Good aft.

I have used Outlook 2003 on this laptop for 3 years without issue. About 2 months ago, I replied to a message and pressed the Send button. Send was not functional. I went to File - Save as - and cancelled. Pressed the Send button and my reply was sent. Sometime later, the same happened with the Forward function; however, pressing the Forward button intermittantly locks my laptop and I must use task manager to end Outlook and then, reboot the laptop for Outlook to work normally again.

The bigger problem is when I open Outlook. I have it set to open in Inbox. In the left pane called Mail, I have Favorite Folders set up and All Mail Folders set up so I can see all subfolders under Inbox. For about 2 months now, my Favorite Folders and All Mail Folders configurations change randomly. Example, Favorite Folders set up are Inbox, Deleted Items, Junk Mail, Outbox, and Sent Items. I open Outlook at one time and Favorite Folders contain Inbox and Deleted Items only. I go down to All Mail folders and drag the other favorites back into the Favorite Folders section. Next time I open Outlook, all of my favorite folders are there. When I open it again, Inbox and Sent Items are in the Favorite Folders section. The others need to be retrieved.

Under All Mail Folders, I always have all subfolders viewable. Upon opening Outlook at different times, the subfolders may or may not be viewable.

Complete Randomness. All updates are downloaded and installed for XP and for Office 2003. I ... Read more

SUBJECT: Trouble with Outlook Express folder configuration.
Its gone. Except for one folder.

Nature of problem: The old folder configuation disappeared.
All that's left is one folder entitled,
"InBox. Main Identity."

What happened: After doing a google search for "Skype information".
Use Firefox Mozilla web browser.
I went to Outlook Express to see if I had recieved any new e-mail.
Well, all but one of me original folders have gone.
After realizing the loss of my old folder configuration.
First thing I did was uninstall all my Dialup software
(PeoplPc Dialup version 6.1+ software).
Next, I did a complete registry cleanup.
Next, I reinstalled my Dialup software.
Reboot.

... I stiil had the same problem ...

Next, I did a complete antispyware sweep.
Only cookies were found and removed.

... I still had the same problem ...

Question: After doing everything I know.
I still have the same problem.
What do you recommend I do
in order to bring back
the old folder configuration?

Thank You.

Hi guys heres one that is driving me nuts.
an email account is set up with an isp here , its btconnect.com
so the email is say [email protected]
now joe has two email aliases on his account e.g.

[email protected]
and
[email protected]

now when joe accesses his account through outlook it obviously checks the btconnect account and sends the mail to the correct alias, but it cant seem to do it.
what happens is , it logs on checks one alias then the server errors whilst checking the other as it is still logged on i assume to the main btconnect mail account and so errors out

e.g [email protected] works and roofing.co.uk errors out
i would like to find a way to check flooring first and roofing after but cant figure it out
someone suggested using identities in outlook express but isnt outlook the better program and surely there is some kind of feature for this problem

usually after it gets its bearings it is then happy and says send receive complete but after a couple of tries and leaving an error message at the bottom of the screen
0x800cc0f
as it is trying to check the two accounts on the same email address at the same time.
any ideas anyone
i am even willing to try thunderbird instead
just the managers like the calender etc in outlook

A:Outlook Using 2 email aliases on one email address

still no ideas on this one.
maybe using rules in outlook would help.
I could just check mail from the BT account
e.g. [email protected] and filter the mail for the aliases into the corresponding mail box, but how then if a mail is written in outlook could it be send from the correct account.
e.g [email protected] or [email protected] rather than the mail appearing as though it was sent from [email protected] , wow outlook is confusing stuff lol.

Hi all

One problem that i'm yet to figure out in Outlook is how it will show an attached email message as just that, an attachment instead of adding it to the end of the original email such as in hotmail or yahoo. This is particularly annoying when reading emails forwarded through more than one person and you have to keep clicking on the email attachments which then open up another email window etc. until you have about 10 seperate windows open before you get to the original message. I hope i'm not too confusing

To get to the point, does any one have a solution to this? it would be greatly appreciated!!

Good morning, people,

One of my users here is having a wierd issue with her Outlook program...Every time she sends an email out, a .txt file of that email is sent as an attachment to that email.

So an email saying, "Greetings!", has the text file attached that says, "Greetings!".

Any ideas?

Alright, here are the facts:

1. When I start up my machine, the windows login screen tells me that I have (1) message in my Outlook 2007 - I have it set up through google.com, so my Outlook address is a gmail.com address. Yet when I open my Outlook, I don't see anything. Some messages come through, every time I restart, the screen tells me I have a message in there.

2. I had the Outlook 2007 set where when I open it up it asks for a password, and when I send something out, it asks for a password. All of a sudden, it doesn't do this anymore, no matter how many times I restart the computer, or close and open Outlook. I even attempted to use the repair feature in Outlook, but it worked to no avail. What is going on? My business depends on me being to secure my email accounts, and receive important emails - I can't afford to miss a really important one.

3. I also have this software called ComboFix that I've been hearing about which is supposed to be really good, but I didn't run it because I don't have anyone to guide me through any of the results, plus I heard it could possibly mess up my machine. I would like to run it if it will cure my machine and make my life easier.

**My machine is Windows XP.... Please can someone help me? It is greatly appreciated.

A:Exporting Email accounts from Vista to Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express

Hello again kapilkaaiser,
I think you need to import the required info into Outlook 2007 -

In Outlook 2007, click File > Import and Export > Make the appropriate choices
> & hopefully the Import / Export Wizard will oblige.

We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 and our clients have Office 2010. Our Outlook profiles are created automatically by using Group Policy to set a registry key which points to a PRF file with all the Outlook settings. Lately, many of our users are reporting that their emails are getting stuck in the Outbox. If you look at their Outlook profile, they have two Exchange accounts listed. You cannot delete either of them; it gives a message that this is the default email account.

The immediate solution is to recreate the user's Outlook profile. This allows the stuck email to send. The real issue is that this keeps occurring. Recreating the Outlook profile sometimes fixes the problem for a long time, months maybe. But other times the problem occurs the next day. This is happening with users who have established Outlook profiles as well as new users logging into their PCs for the first time. I've attached the code from our PRF. Any help is appreciated, as we have around 400 active users and we're constantly chasing after this issue.

A:Outlook 2010 Email Stuck in Outbox; Corrupt Outlook Profile

Couple steps you may apply...

1. Repair the offline file with a Microsoft utility called SCANOST.exe. I’ve seen this file reside in a number of different locations, mainly within Program Files. It might be best to search for it with Windows or Google Desktop. SCANPST.exe will also work, though you’ll have to go digging for your outlook.ost, which should be near c:\Documents and Settings\ %profile%\ Local Settings\ Application Data\ Microsoft\ Outlook\ outlook.ost. If your file is significant in size, you’ll save a lot of time with the repair operation by not creating a backup. Because if the repair finishes successfully and Outlook still bombs, you’ll need to.
2. Shutdown Outlook completely, including any runaway outlook.exe processes in the task manager. Open Mail in the Control Panel and before you delete your profile completely, write down the server settings! There’s no need to worry about backing up your mail as it’s stored on the Exchange server. (Essentially, you’re deleting that outlook.ost when you drop your mail profile.) Now, start Outlook and it will create a new profile, where you’ll configure the server with the information you wrote down previously.

Hi, my name is Kyle, I am new to this Forum.

I have seen a similar post which seems to be the solution to the problem I face, however, I cannot post on the topic for some reason - I would assume because it is marked as solved.

I needed to post in the topic for clarity, as I do not quite understand how to use the solution. I also cannot send PM's or Personal Emails and was told to not post Tech Questions within the Visitor Message section on a User Profile, so I have not been able to contact the user that offered the solution directly.

Therefore I am creating a new post.

I'm in the middle of capturing data - data in the form of emails dating back to 2009. This data is required to create a email database of all our previous and current clients.

Currently I am manually going through every email contained within a folder in my inbox and entering each email address into an excel sheet. This is incredibly time-consuming, as one might imagine and of-course I would like the quick-fix solution.

In the solution offered in the aforementioned post http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/864373-solved-save-all-email-addys.html, there was reference made to software called NK2, which, by the sounds of it, I can somehow use to extract these email addresses and then import them into an excel database - problem being that I do not know how to use this program.

I would love for someone to guide me through the process!

The other solution that was offered, was a ma... Read more

How do I make Microsoft Outlook the default email program? I make the change in IE version 5, but when I reboot the system (Win 98), Outlook Express is once again selected as the default email program.

I read in a previous post about using the following sequence for making Outlook Express the default. Is there anything similar for Microsoft Outlook? :
------------------------------------------------------
To make Outlook Express your default e-mail client:
Close OE, click Start/Run and enter this command line, complete with quotes, spaces and the /reg switch:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg
---------------------------------------------------------

Thanks very much,

I had a Windows XP corruption to my system folder wherein I had to reinstall my operating system and "wipe out" my harddrive.

I have my entire "old" harddrive with all settings, files, etc. on it, and now my computer is up and running with Windows Vista Business.

I have successfully added my old PST file to the new OS and it works, however how can I get my Outlook 2003 rules, email accounts, etc? I'm not able to "export" as I cannot run the old Outlook program?...

Are these files located somewhere that I can manually add them (replace, whatever) to the new Vista OS/hard drive?

Thanks in advance...
