Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

- an OEM or full retail version?: OEM full retail

- What is the age of system (hardware)? ~ 1 year old

I tried to clear up the problem before the reinstall with no luck.

I have run Memtest ~7 hours total with 0 errors.

I have updated all drivers manually as well as Windows Updates.

I have run Verifier although the system only crashes sporadically. Sometimes 4 times within 2 hours, but mostly once or twice a day.

If it helps, my internet drops out on my router a few times a day but the system does not crash when this happens.

A:Help please? Posted According to BSOD Posting Instructions.

We have seen problems with the UltraMon program in the past - but haven't had any recent problems. Don't do anything with it right now - but keep it in mind for later on (if needed).

Well, it looks like your copy of UltraMon is from 2008 - so please uninstall it. If that stops the BSOD's then we won't have to move on with hardware troubleshooting (which is what I suspect from the BSOD output). Please let us know if this fixes things. If not, we'll post some hardware troubleshooting tests.

Please update these drivers:
OLDER DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Create a System Restore Point prior to doing any of this. DO NOT mess with the drivers themselves - leave the Windows\System32\drivers directory alone unless we specifically direct you to it!
- Please update these drivers from the device manufacturer's website - or uninstall them from your system. Reference links are included below.
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Please feel free to post back about any drivers that you are having difficulty locating.

...because the laptop doesn't stay on longer than 2-3 minutes before BSOD'ing. It's a friend computer. He sent me it with a dead drive so I bought a new one and installed Windows on it. That went OK. Then while I was running updates, it Blue Screened. And then it kept doing it again and again. I looked at the temps in both the BIOS and using Speccy and the CPU and motherboard were both at 90 and 91 degrees Celsius respectively.

It won't stay on long enough for me to troubleshoot it so I tried opening it up and blowing some dust out with a can of compressed air thinking that dust was the reason it was heating up but there was barely any dust. I would try reseating the CPU with new thermal compound but I wasn't able to take the laptop apart that far (i.e.: I was only able to get it a crack open from the side and put the can's funnel in there).

Most of your bugchecks are 0x1Es where their parameters aren't saving and some symbols aren't either.

Computer Information:
Toshiba laptop: Satellite L305D (Computer is 2 years old)
Current OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Original OS: Windows Vista, then down graded to Windows XP after original purchase

Problem:
Every so often my computer just crashes. Usually when I am either not using it (I come back to it and it shows an error screen where Windows restarted on its own), or when I am burning a DVD (home movies of my little boy). When I do see it actually happen, the screen messes up to where I can't make out anything on it (kind of like static on a TV) and then the computer shuts itself down and restarts on its own. When it gets to my desktop, the following is the information I get from the error code:

To answer initial questions:
Is Vista . . .

- the original installed OS on the system? - Yes. However, the boot drive was cloned from the initial install over a year ago.
- an OEM or full retail version? - Full retail version

- What is the age of system (hardware)?
MB - ASUS P8H67M-LE, memory (4gb), Power Supply - 5/2011
HDD - main drive - Samsung 2TB, purchased 11/2010
CD Drive - purchased 11/2010
all other drives in the system (3) are from older systems.
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
On this drive, 12/2010, but this was a clone not an install. Install on prior drive was in 5/2009. I have not re-installed the OS.

Last new hardware added to the system was in September, when I added a video card to it due to a persistent flicker when it would default to using the Intel drivers on the MB video output. System had been running okay since then up until about 2 weeks ago.

The system is not overclocked.

Receiving a 0x0000004C BSOD most of the time, usually within 1-10 minutes of the system booting normally. Preliminary debugging analysis (using both WhoCrashed and Windows debug tools) point to crcdisk.sys. On the bottom part of the BSOD, it will intermittently give me multiple values.

I've run msconfig and have gone into Services and hidden all Microsoft services, while disabling everything else. Makes no difference whether these are enabled or disabled - if booted in ... Read more

I have BSOD only a couple of times other than running the swtor launcher, but that is primarily when it happens and the only way I can reliably reproduce a bsod.

Attached are the dumps, the last 2 dumps were with driver verifier running (crashed upon boot-up)
I can run memtest86 for hours (16+ cycles complete) with no errors, prime95 with no errors, and IntelBurnTest with no problems.
Temperatures are not excessive, I have never gotten above 45C on the cpu or 55C on the mainboard under maximum stress.

I don't know what else to try - Thanks in advance!

We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:

Quote:
There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

Here's some suggestions:
- Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
- Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
- Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
- Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
- Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.-
Replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive and see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, then it's likely that there's a problem with the SSD OR an incompatibility with your system.
It's my opinion that SSD's aren't reliable enough (with current hardware... Read more

I have been having random BSOD every few days. I tried to install the SF diagnostic tool, but I keep receiving errors and the last time I got a BSOD and rebooted and it ran and BSOD at the end of it. I looked inside of the SF folder that it created and it is empty. Now when I run it it gives me errors:

Search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. Zip them and upload those.

Also upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

Greetings. I am having BSOD issues on a computer so I downloaded the SF diagnostic tool to gather the required crash info but it too fails. I right click to run as admin it launches correctly but when I hit Grab All it bombs telling me it cannot find the path \\desktop. It does this both on the computer I am having the BSOD on and my normal workstation.

Any advice?

Hi!

The SF Diagnostic Tool couldn?t create the file I guess that you announced would end up at my desktop as expected. The file that you suggest me to compress and deliver as an attachment either were invisible or failed to be created by the SF Diagnostic Tool. If you have any comments of how or why it won?t end up as expected I would be glad to hear suggestions and ideas of how I can fix this as well.

I don?t know if it was a good alternative but I decided to pick up the separate files during the process of the SF Diagnostic Tool one by one and then compress and send them to you in a zip-file. I hope this will work as well and gives a hint of what it is that causes my BSOD.

(I have noticed that BSOD in 90% of the time occurs when I start a render process with Lightwave 3D 9.6 and that it most of the time happens after 20-25 frames. The other times BSOD appears hasn?t got any special connection to any software process that I am aware of.)

Regards, Jack

Hi

My Toshiba C660D has been suffering from BSOD. So I re-installed the OS, but after a week or so it is doing it again. It was slow booting/closing and then the Black Screen. I have installed a different HDD and the OS again and it is currently working, but I had another BSOD earlier today and it is slow to reboot. I have also changed the memory. Can anyone please help?

Many thanks in advance.

Hello.
I've been getting random BSOD. It doesn't seem to be connected to any one program or situation but usually happens when i'm playing games. I built this computer myself:
Asus Sabertooth Z77 MB
Intel i5 3.4Gh
NVidea GTX 560 GPU
8 Gb Ram

I have attached my zip folder for the SF Diagnostic Tool as instructed by a couple other threads on this site.

I don't know if it's related to the BSOD but i also just recently have had games randomly crash on me as well. Starcraft II, League of Legends, Dead Space 1 and 2.
This has all just started happening in the last week. I have had no such problems before then.

I'm sorry if i'm leaving out an important piece of information. Please tell me what you need from my end, and thank you very much for helping me out.

A:Random BSOD, SF Diagnostic tool zip file attached.

Welcome aboard, brook4.

Your crash dumps indicate memory corruption mainly, with mostly a bugcheck 1A.

Bugcheck 1A may occur for a corrupted device driver, too. So, before blaming the RAMs, we want to make it sure that it is not any driver that is causing the crashes. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Depending on this, we will decide our next step.

I have bought a new PC for my wife without OS. It is an Acer N2120G supplied only with FreeDOS on the HD. I have installed Win 7 Pro via a USB flash drive, using the Windows DVD/USB tool from the install DVD without any great difficulty.
Everything works but once she started using it she got crashes about once a day. I tried it myself and get the same problem. At present there isn't anything elaborate installed. Mainly it will be used for browsing and emails and a few of the built in card games. Having installed Win 7 Pro sp1 32bit, I wiped the FreeDOS partition so that is now unallocated empty space.

She had to stop using it so I could check it all. I got advice from the Win 7 Forum Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool stops at 88% complete so I started with simple checks like PW and SFC and they looked fine. I went back to the AMD website and their auto detect told me that I had all the up to date drivers.
Just to be safe, I updated all the drivers from the AMD automatic system. I was especially cautious about the graphics card as I know that can be very sensitive! But the crashes still occurred - maybe after 6 hours - maybe after 6 minutes

I set the PC to run the Memory Diagnostic from Administrative Tools. Just the standard shutdown and run option. it froze at 88% complete. After some hours I gave up and after a reboot, tried again - same freeze but at 21%. Then I tried the memtest86 having downloaded it for recording to a CD. That showed that the memory was OK in all respe... Read more

Please make sure your computer is set for Small Memory Dumps Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD Then make sure there is a folder in C:/Windows named Minidump. If not, create one.

Also, check your Windows Updates and make sure there are no recommended or important updates left to run and in the left column look at view update history and see how many have failed.

When you ran memtest did you run this one for 8 complete passes?
Please Run Memtest86+

Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. Something I should point out, regarding CCleaner and similar products

It's not recommended to use of registry cleaners. These often cause more problems than they fix. One of the Experts here at Geekstogo, miekiemoes has an excellent writeup here

Windows Update Posting Instructions

   Information
This is a set of posting instructions to use so that you can get better help here at SevenForums.com when you have a Windows Update issue.

   Warning
Never, under any circumstances, follow the instructions posted to another user who appears to be having the same problem as you (unless specifically instructed to). Windows Update problems are very computer specific and following instructions made to another user will probably do more harm than good.

1. System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)Under Download the System Update Readiness Tool, download the appropriate version of the SURT for your version Windows, and save the file to your Desktop.
NOTE: It is likely that we will need to run this file multiple times, so make sure you keep it.

System Update Readiness Tool fixes Windows Update errors in Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2008

Double-click on the file to install it.
Leave it to run uninterrupted. It may appear to freeze or hang, but this is perfectly normal. If it still hasn't finished after a few hours, then notify us in your post.
2. SFC ScanFor how to run, see: sfc /scannow
3. Windows Update Error Codes

Hi all,

Working on netbook with windows 7 starter.
Noticed updates not installing awhile ago and decided to fix. I have already done the thorough virus scan recommended in a few posts and have tried a few other fixes as well but got nowhere. I figured I'd post so I read through the posting instructions and am stuck at the SFC Scan.

Another servicing or repair operation is currently running.

I do have the Windows Installer Modual service set to manual,

Where to start?

I began having trouble a few months back, but due to my schedule, I was unable to take real time to address the issues till just recently. I have had a lot of crazy symptoms and will try to list:
Unable to process Windows updates
Windows unable to open Help & Support "because a service is not running."
Unable to print
No System Restore points
Based on the above issues, I thought the machine was operating in Safe Mode. I tried running under "Last Known Good Configuration," "Directory Services Restore Mode," "Debugging Mode," "Enable Boot Logging," and System Restore.

Then another message appeared regarding my ATI graphics driver. "No ATI graphics driver is installed, or the ATI driver is not functioning properly. Please install the ATI driver appropriate for your ATI hardware."

From the AMD site, I used Article GPU-55, "How to identify the model of an ATI graphics card," and found that I was running a VisionTek Radeon HD2400 Pro AGP card.

Then, I used Article GPU-2, "Install latest graphics driver." Reasons include driver-related error messages. Need administrator priviledges.

While trying to follow those instructions, I tripped over the error message "Windows cannot open Help & Support because a system service is not running." Based on my Googling, I... Read more

It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

Why we don't ask you to run ComboFix from the onset

As stated by the author of ComboFix:

ComboFix is a very powerful tool which when improperly used may render your machine to a doorstop.

We first need to verify if there's any rootkits present and how they could affect our tools. DDS & GMER are preliminary scans. We use their logs to map our strategy for attack.

With these logs we can determine the infections present & decide whether to deploy ComboFix.

Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions

   Information
This is a set of posting instructions to use so that you can get better help here at SevenForums.com when you have a Windows non-genuine and/or activation issue.

Here's How:

1. Click on either of the Download buttons below to download the MGADiag Tool from Microsoft.
2. Save the MGADiag.exe file to your desktop and run it.

3. If prompted, click on Run and Yes (UAC).

4. Click on the Continue button. (see screenshot below)
5. When the report is finished, click on the Copy button. (see screenshot below)
NOTE: Often, when clicking the Copy button, you may get an error message. Just ignore the error. All it means is that the backup copies of certain files couldn't be saved to disk (in the root directory). The Copy process will still work, and pasting to your post will still function as expected.
6. Right click on a empty area in your post here at Seven Forums, and click on Paste to place a copy of the MGADiag report into your post.
NOTE: The MGADIAG report does not contain any sensitive or personal information, and is best posted un-edited for us to be able to help.

7. In your post, select (highlight) all of the MGADiag report that you just pasted, and click on the code box # toolbar icon to wrap the report in a code box when posted. (see screenshot below)
8. Add any additional details you like about your issue before or after the code wrapped MGADiag report... Read more

A:Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions

Please DO NOT forget Step 7 to enclose the resultant report in a code box as this makes it easier for us to read, especially when we refer backwards and forwards to it from any subsequent replies in your thread. I've had to add the code tags to a few reports lately because of this.

Hello,

Upon opening my computer and logging in, it takes about 5-10mins for eveything to load up. However, this doesn't happen all the time... sometimes it's normal and loads up in about 1 minute.

The thing that is consistent now is my wireless that keeps freezing. The icon on the bottom right does not appear as usual (I got around this by re-loading the Atheros driver and now I can log onto the internet).

If I go to Start > Connect to> the menu freezes and so does the bottom of my computer including the task menu / bar. So much so, if I minimize anything, I can't get to them unless I press Cntrl+Alt+Del and Switch To that specific folder.

I'm not sure if it's a virus or malware ... my Norton 360 antivirus is updated, but it doesn't find anything. I ran a scan using an online scanner through Microsoft... but it didn't find anything either.

I am looking for some kind of combined hardware/software diagnostic tool that can tell me what is causing my computer to crash. It crashes about once every 2 days, and freezes while I use it for periods of typically around 30 seconds each, in which the program stops responding.

I want to know if it's a hardware problem and I need a new computer or if it's a software problem and I need to un-install a few things

Hello and welcome to TSF, JJFlame!

PLEASE, if you're going to post - post more information about both your hardware and your operating system, as it's very important.

Also, it would really help to tell us important events such; When do you get this error? When did it start? What programs are you running at the time? What program stops responding?

Go to this link and post the output files as attachments in your next post(s), Thank you.

While on Firefox, I clicked on a facebook link which brought to a site. I didn't see anything worth while and clicked very fast (so I am not sure if I had actually downloaded something by mistake), but left all my firefox tabs open(probably about 20). I then stepped away from the computer for awhile. When I returned, I had this Security Tool virus appearing. I was able to find out where this virus was (c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\99076940\99076940.exe) It wouldn't let me go into msconfig (to delete) because this was running, so I changed the name and reboot. I was able to delete the file, however security tool still is in my programs (at startup), programs are crashing (firefox and others) and malwarebytes cannot seem to remove the problems it shows. I tried to restore to several different dates within MS accessories system tools, but it wouldn't restore to any of those dates saying nothing has changed. Further, it disabled my NOD anti virus software and even after I reinstall and reregister it, it will not run. I have an XP Media Center SP2 version 2002. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone.. Ran across this link

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

in another (GASP, CHOKE) forum and thought I'd post it here for review/ comments.

I used the download file to create a boot floppy which runs the diagnostic. You also have the option of burning it to a CD.

One advantage I see over other memory diagnostics I've used, is this one runs it's test sequence (a set of 8) continuously until you stop it. This allows one to run a repeateitive test sequence over an extended period of time (like over night) and have a better chance of detecting an intermittent fault.

Check it out

I'm resurrecting WDT for Win 10, it's been quite useful at Eightforums - but Win 10, especially with digital entitlement, has different needs.

I uploaded a beta at github for those that would like to test and give feedback in terms of what is required etc. The thing at EF was I was one of few interpreting the diagnostic report, so making the report itself more user friendly is one of the main things we need to sort out.
The current report is almost verbatim what Windows' licensingdiag.exe utility produces.

NB Office is phase 2 so that will not be a priority right now.

Releases ˇ Superfly-Inc/Windows-Diagnostic-Tool ˇ GitHub

PS It also needs a new name.

NB: It may hang on first use - if so close and restart... it's a known bug.

Hello,If it is one thing that I have noticed from working on Dell computers, it is that most of them use the tools provided by Dell a little differently from model to model. Especially if your PC is a few years old. You may need to insert one of the disks that came with your PC, if you have one that is a couple of years old. The newer Dell's don't come with any of the disks unless you beg them, and pay $10.Most of the newer Dell's that have the diagnostics onboard, are generally accessed like this.1. Turn on (or restart) your computer.2. When the DELL? logo appears, press F12 immediately.3. When the boot device list appears, highlight Boot to Utility Partition and press Enter.4. When the Dell Diagnostics Main Menu appears, select the test you want to run.Hope this helps, nos

I've experienced some strange events on my computer and I thought the first thing I'd do is run some disk diagnositc tools. I have five physical disks:
C: system/program disk
D: backup of C
E: data disk
F: backup of E
G: Spare disk ... using as 2nd backup of C

Since C & D are Western Digital devices, I downloaded one of their LifeGuard Diagnostics: DLGDIAG for Windows, and ran the "Extended Test" against C, D, and G. All passed. The control panel says that SMART status is not available -- I forgot how to turn that on (as far as I know, it should work with all five drives).

Any hints on a more demanding disk test that would not wipe the disk clean ... I do not want to have to reinstall my software because of the test. For what it is worth, I'm using Acronis True Image to make image copies of C to D and G.

I don't know unless the CPU is overheating -- but try creating a Windows independent diagnostic using Memtest.

Memtest86 - A Stand-alone Memory Diagnostic

I have a Logitech MX300 with wireless 3 button mouse.
The left, right and scroll wheel work fine, the center button doesn't seem to work at all.
I have the latest version of SetPoint and tried setting it up with different key mappings but to no avail.
I'm not even sure if it's working.

Is there any diagnostic tool that will show me when I push a button that it's being activated?

I first tried to get it to work in WOW(World of Warcraft) but no luck. I then realized it doesn't even seem to work outside the game. I mapped the button to be an 'X' and opened a text file. Pressing the button resulted in no action, no X's.

I'm running Win7 64bit.

Any ideas or info about a tool?

Thanks!

A:Is there a Mouse Diagnostic tool?

I have found that when one button stops working, it usually means that the mouse has gone bad. I think that Logitech warranty is 5 years, and when I sent them a message about a mouse limping like yours, then sent me a new one, without even returning the old one.

I've been getting the BSOD for almost a month now. It's just at startup which usually leads to a couple restarts and then everything works perfectly fine. Sometimes my .exe's don't work, sometimes my USB ports aren't recognized, and sometimes it just flatout freezes. But again, after a couple restarts everything goes back to normal. Anyway, I'm trying this tool and hopefully it works!

We have got a hint that you faced a stop 0x109 on 08/08/2013. No hint of any stop 0x26 as you stated.

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

I have a Samsung SV 320 3n HD in my 2003 HP Pavilion a320n windows xp desktop and according to an old Samsung web page I found that the HD diagnostic scanner to use for this HD should be HUTIL. I have tried both the iso version on a CD and the .exe version on a floppy and I couldn't get either to run. They both get to the first screen and don't go further. All the Samsung computer stuff has been bought out by Seagate and there is no support for this old drive or even a download for HUTIL on the Seagate website.. Can someone recommend a HD diagnostic scanner that might run on my old machine? Right now, I can't get it to boot in normal or safe, can't do system restore, or go bsck to last known good config, but I can boot with standalone virus scanners and have run several different ones without finding anything serious. I really just now, want to find a HD diagnostic tool I can run and get a report of some kind on the condition of the HD
Thanks

Hi. I have had my PC perfectly running since 2010. I have played all kind of video games with no problem with my GXT 580. Recently I hired and installer to add more ram to my PC and a SSD drive. He tried for a lot of time to install the additional ram and did some stuff on the bios with no avail. He then told me that he was going to leave the PC at that (with the original ram) and installed the SSD. Everything was great and I have been using my PC for almost 6 months without problems. The problems started last week when I decided to play again some video games. Whenever I was playing games (Planet Side 2 or GTAIV) then the infamous BSOD appeared. I think that if I never played any video games (since the new installation) I would have never experience the BSOD. I highly suspect of something the installer did. Please, please help me!! Thank you so very much!!!

A:Please, please help! SF Diagnostic Tool uploaded

Update your BIOS.

Code:
Versi?n y fecha de BIOS Award Software International, Inc. FB, 24/08/2010
Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Update your Samsung SSD's Firmware.

Update XBox USB wireless controllerdriver (must) from Software Downloads | Microsoft Hardware

Free up the startup.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Let us know it the problem persists or not.

Dear Broni and All,

I have completed all steps, and ran the security programmes recommended in this thread:

http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/keep-getting-stupid-shopping-malware-installed.208648/

However, I am still getting pop-ups and adware related problems, which means that the underlying problem has not been resolved.
These are the programmes that I have run (today, 18/05/2015):
-RogueKiller
-Mbar
-AdwCleaner (it removed NickelBlock, AllCheeiaPPPriCe, DowwnSaave, SaVieNeewaApupoz)
-Junkware Remover
-Farbar Recovery Tool
-Farbar Security Scanner
-Security Check
-Tempfile Cleaner

I am currently running Sophos.
My laptop runs Windows 8.1, and Combofix does not support it.
The antivirus that I have is Kaspersky (I previously had Microsoft Security Essential), and Windows Defender. The malware was not detected by a Kaspersky and Spybot full scan a few days ago. However, on the 26th of April, I manually uninstalled some adware, and then ran full scans, which showed nothing.

As you can imagine, I don't think I have many options left, and formatting my laptop is a dreadful prospect. I was wondering if you could give me some advice.
I have kept all logs of the security programmes that I've run.

Thank you in advance, and looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, hp Pavilion p7 1010, 64 bit, Windows 10 home edition.   My desktop is running perfectly except for this problem. For years I have had the hp Hardware Diagnostic tool on my PC.   Recently, it got uninstalled somehow.  I have unsuccessfully tried to re-install it and I keep getting this message: 1.  Hardware Diagnostic Tool will be installed in an UEFI partition on the hard drive.2.  HP Tools Partition cannot be found.3.  main drive already has 4 partitions.  Additional partitions cannot be created.4.  Error 1722- problem with Windows installer package. The download then stops and does not complete.   Over 3/4 of my C: drive is empty.   I don't understand why this program that was installed and worked for years, somehow disappeared and now will not re-install as it seems to think there is not enough room for this file??  Can you off me a suggestion as to how to reinstall this program.  I like to run this about once a month to check on the over functioning of my PC.Thank you, beachguy

I'm trying to augment the HP USB 3-in-1 diagnostic tool, which also includes the ability to update the BIOS on any machine.  I've figured out that the .BIN file is the BIOS update file and to put it in the \Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\New folder to allow machines to be updated.  However, when I tried to update a HP EliteBook 8540w, it didn't work, giving me an error message of "Signature file not found." Since I'm able to update other HP systems (dc7800, EliteDesk 800 G1, ProDesk 600 G1, etc.) by putting just the .BIN file on the USB drive and selecting the update BIOS option from the BIOS, I figure it would also work using the HP 3-in-1 diagnostic tool.  Apparently, the 3-in-1 tool uses some form of CRC check to validate the BIOS file first.  The problem is, I don't know for which file the tool is looking, so I'm stuck. Does anyone know the file structure of the BIOS section of the 3-in-1 diagnostic tool?  I need to know what files need to be put in what locations in order for the BIOS update function to work correctly.  Any help which is provided is greatly appreciated. Thanks,Timothy

I ran the extended test overnight and this morning it had rebooted into Vista. The problem is that there are no results in the toolbar to be viewed as the tutorial said it should be. Where can I view the results of the memory test?

A:Memory Diagnostic Tool Problem

Which memory test, which tool, and which tutorial? I'm presuming that you're using the built in memory tester - and it should've given you a notice if it passed the test or if it found any problems. If you didn't get a message, then I'd suspect that the test terminated abnormally - so you'll have to run the test and see if you can get a message from it (or see when it terminates). This'll involve a lot of boring, staring at the screen - but I've found not evidence of a log file or results page that will be displayed. Here's a link to the BC tutorial on the memory test: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/using-vista-windows-memory-diagnostics-tool/

I can perform a Standard test without any difficulty. However, when I tried to attempt an Extended test the process halted at about 10% of even the
first test. After about a quarter of an hour it was still at this point so I pressed Esc to cancel the test.
How long would this Extended test normally take ? Was I a little premature in stopping it ?
