Messenger Install Error with Visual Studio Runtime

Q: Messenger Install Error with Visual Studio Runtime

I've just bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium x64 for college and have been installing all the programs that were on the old laptop (Vista 32bit) to use on this one. When I tried to install the Messenger, though, it went through the whole process before saying:

"Messenger couldn't be installed because we had trouble installing these requirements:

Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime
Try downloading and installing these programs again. One of the installation files appears to be corrupted. hr:0x80070003"

All other components were "not installed because the installation was canceled."

I tried to install an earlier version, but it said I need to install the newest for it to work. I've tried several times to reinstall, restart, etc. and it is always the same error, including for the side programs such as Writer and Movie Maker.

If anyone else has had this problem or has found a fix, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend update windows so that it will install all these missing items like Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime and related stuffs.

Hello! I'm having major issues with my computer lately. It's not letting me install ANYTHING I need to in order to keep it running. I have 28 Windows Updates sitting my queue that cannot be installed until I get this issue resolved.

I notice lately that when I try to install something, it runs just fine until it gets to the part where it needs to do something with Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime C++. Once it reached that point, the installation just locks up, and then does a rollback before ultimately cancelling the installation. I need to know how to fix this problem so I can get my computer running normally again. Please help! ♥

A:Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime C++

Windows updates shouldn't need the C++ runtime to install. If you're receiving that prompt, I suspect you have a malware issue.

Hi,

I work with Windows XP home edition.

I recently installed Visual C++ 6.0 from the Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise edition.

Since then, I've started to get runtime errors when performing the most mundane of tasks.

For instance, I'll be logging into eBay and a box will popup that says: A runtime error has occurred, Do you wish to debug? Line 1587, syntax error.

I have no doubt that this is related to the Visual software, and I've since uninstalled it.

Any thoughts??

Thanks so much,
Dr. Michael

Hello!

I am trying to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from the following link.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/down....aspx?id=48145

I pick the x64 version, because that is what my computer is. However, after downloading, when I try to install it by running the program, the progress bar fills fine until the very end, where it freezes. This is shown in picture 1.

When I press cancel, a quick box opens up asking if I'm sure, and when I click yes, the screen looks like what is shown in picture 2.

And so I click on the log file, and it shows me this:

What do I need in order to fix this problem? This pop-up message appears when I patched my game

A:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error" error message

According to the error message the application (the patch you installed) isn't working right and for you to contact the folks who made the patch. I'm guessing that would be the support team for Audition Dance Battle or perhaps the support folks for all of e-games.com.ph

::E-Games - Audition Dance Battle::

E-Games Portal

Let them know exactly what the error message says, the specific ID number for the patch you installed, specific info about your computer (make, model, version of Windows you're using, amount of RAM, CPU, etc) so they can figure out what's wrong. In the meantime, you could try uninstalling the patch while waiting for a response. Sorry I can't be more help.

Hello Tech Guys! I came this site because I was so skillfully helped about four years ago dealing with another windows issue. The site looks great.

I am not computer illiterate, but advanced I am not either. I installed Microsoft Office 2007and Microsoft Desktop Search yesterday. I didn't like Desktop Search and uninstalled it. I also changed some start up configurations with msconfig. This morning when restarting my computer an error message came up:

___________________________________________________________________

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error
Program c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe

R6025

Pure Virtual Function Call

___________________________________________________________________
I have ran norton and it works fine. Once I click OK on the error and the Norton box on the toolbar disappears. Then I click on the icon and it comes back up. I don't know if this is a problem or not.

I have run a full scan, windoc, and a couple other programs to rid the registry files. I ran RegCure and ParetoLogic. Maybe I am making a mountain out of a molehill, but it does run a little slower at start up and always gives that error message.

Also when I look at Windows Task Manager, the svchost.exe (system) sometimes is running at 58,000K to 27,000K. Is that right?

Let me know what you think and what I should do. I want to thank you in advance for just being such a great tool in our internet world. Taylor

This happens when I try to run internet explorer. Firefox works fine. This error started after I installed limewire. Bad, Bad boy. It's now unistalled forever. I believe everything is now cleaned up I use Norton AV & PCTools spyware doctor, however I can't get around this error message. Hi, I've searched endlessly on the forums here, microsoft support, and any other technical support forum Google could direct me to and still have not found a solution. I'm not much of a computer guru, but hopefully i can explain my problem enough for you to help me. If i need to show any logs then please tell me how to and i'd be more than happy to help you help me.
On to my problem.

While playing 1701 A.D. (it happens most often with this game, but with other games also) after anywhere from half hour to an hour my game locks up (i can still use the mouse and easily ctrl-alt-kill the program) and this message is displayed:
I have vista on an Hp laptop DV9000 series laptop, my computer is more than strong enough to handle this game. There is also no chance it's over heating. Ive tried right clicking on the exe file and changing compatibility, it didn't make a difference. i downloaded new drivers but that might not have worked properly, i have to install them from hp and it never installs right. The problem existed before i tried to download a new driver and still exist. I also scanned my computer with Trend micro Anti Virus and spyware and have found no possible causes. If there is anything you need me to do please let me know. I appreciate your help.

A:Need fix for Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error

Hi,

Mostly, this kinds of error can be caused by two factors:

1.Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries are missing.
2.Software problem.

If the issue is caused by #1, you can reinstall the Runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries to resolve the problem.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9B2DA534-3E03-4391-8A4D-074B9F2BC1BF&displaylang=en

If the issue still persists after installing above package, the issue should be a software problem. I suggest you take a clean boot check whether it is a software conflict issue. If not, it is still recommended to address the problem with manufacturer support. Thank you for your understanding.

For your convenience:

3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
4. Restart the computer and test the issue.

Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then cl... Read more

Hi there,

Got a problem which has developed over past few days. Tried to use HP image zone which came with HP 2350 series printer/scanner. Hadn't used it in a long time and when I tried to access it received 0xc0000135 error. Got in touch with HP. They advised uninstalling the software, downloading .net framework 1.1 and reinstalling. Even though I have .net 1.1, they said reinstall it. I have uninstalled the printer and tried to download .net framework 1.1 from Microsoft downloads site. When I try to install it I am getting the following message :

Visual C++ runtime library

Runtime error

Program C:\WINDOWS\System32\msiexec.exe

The application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

I thought it might be a windows installer problem so I downloaded Windows installer 3.1 with no problem.

Done all the usual scans for viruses, malware, spyware and found nothing.

Can anyone help ?

Cheers,

Aidanski

A:Runtime Error Visual C++ Runtime Library

I am getting the same error message, often. I just saw on Microsoft that there is an update to the Windows Installer program. If the version number is 3.1.4000.2435, the computer has Windows Installer 3.1 (v2) which is the most current. So you might have to update, see link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898628/Windows InstallerI already have 3.1(v2) loaded, but I am getting Runtime Errors regularly from Norton System Works/anti-virus. I am running XP/home, also using Webroot Spy/Virus and System Mechanic Pro 6. I update and scan regularly, but get no findings, even using the Trend freebie. Do I sound paranoid? But my Event Viewer showed lots of errors today (only because I just found it). source nview_infoerror event id: 1 and MSI Installer (source) event id 11316 User: ROMEMAIN\Owner. I also got warnings on warnings on Source EvntAgnt EventID 1015 Warning TraceLevel parameter not located in registry; Default trace level used is 32. Do I have problems? I think sooooo. Also Perf... rears its ugly head regularly. From my readings, the community has decided to ignore those PerfLib_PerfData files. But I got the message, again from Event Viewer, PerfNet Error Event 2002 and 2004Unable to open the Redirector service. Redirector performance data will not be returned. Error code returned is in data DWORD 0.I know I'm only supposed to put one problem in one report; but I am so confused! After doing that, my HP Pavillion Slimline pc hangs when I try to play a factory installed game; ie: solitare. Error message that the game won't respond. I cannot get online either. You could try doing a System Restore to a date prior to the Adobe install -- this might be a quick fix if something didn't get installed correctly.

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/

---------------------------------------------------------------

It's likely to be an application error or conflict. Back in Win98 days installed games like Solitaire frequently had conflicts with installed antivirus programs or certain other apps.

Try testing this issue using "clean boot" techniques -- it seems like a good candidate for that if it happens predictably.

You might want to even start in Safe Mode first and see if it happens there -- if not, you've ruled out a problem with system files, including the game itself.
First, restart in Safe Mode if necessary -- (tap the f8 key promptly on startup and choose the Safe Mode option from the boot menu) or Normal mode

Then:

Run msconfig and select the "Services" tab. Check "Hide Microsoft Services" and then disable the rest. Also uncheck "load startup items" on the general page.
Now restart and test the issue at hand

If no problems, run msconfig and recheck half the disabled items on the Services tab. Test again. If the problem recurs, UNcheck half the items you just checked to narrow down the culprit.

If the problem didn't occur, check the other half, so all the Services are enabled -- proceed to do this on the startup tab as w... Read more

Hello everyone,

I have a question about the visual studio .net 2002. Is there any downloadable patches or upgrades to support a file that is being written / coded from visual studio .net 2003 to visual studio .net 2002?

My friend and I discovered lately that when you create a project (e.g. vb .net win app) in vb.net 2003 then save it and you want to open it again but in vb.net 2002, the project you created using vb.net 2003 cannot be opened using vb.net 2002.

On the other side, when you try to create and save a project in vb.net 2002 and you try opening it in vb.net 2003, there is really no problem, cause vb.net 2003 will convert a project (a message will prompt you and will give you a choice if that project should be converted) that was save under vb.net 2002.

Anyway, is there any updates of visual studio .net supporting projects that was created on vb.net 2003 and opening those project(s) using vb.net 2002?

Any help is highly appreciated.

A:Migrating Visual Studio .NET 2002 to Visual Studio .NET 2003

i had this problem the other week (downloaded an article from codeproject or codeguru, but wouldnt load in 2002), im not sure of any patches that will fix the problem, but there is a work around if you dont mind altering certain project files.

The problem is with ProductVersion within the .csproj files, they are different between 2002 and 2003. If you alter them to the previous version they will then loadup. You may also need to alter the .sln file as well (again compare a 2002 ver that loads and the 2003 ver). Not giving any promises about it working, but it did work with the project i had.

I guess it would be quite easy to write a little utility that would go through a project and alter the said files. Dont know how many people would find use of it though.

Ok, previously to get something from a database to a variable in a web based app the code went something like this:
DataAdapter.Fill(Dataset1)

after the dataset had been filled in this way a variable could be set by

variablex=dataset.tables(0).rows(0).items(0)
Now, after converting the project and all associtated files I've got SQLDataSource to use.

So, after lots of fruitless searching I'm asking just how the above statement translates to work as a means of retrieving a field from an SQLDataSource?

I just bought a book for my C++ class and the accompanying program gets an error whenever I try to install it. It was,

"Error 1304.Error writing to file: Microsoft.VSDesigner.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory."

I found the file in its folder, so I click retry and the installer gets another error,

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2350."

The book was used but the disc was unopened and had no scratches. Any help is much appreciated.

I have no problem installing the VS Components. The problem occurs when using the first disk. After awhile the installation stops at one file, c1xx.dll. The installation is still running, but it won't go any further. I have tried letting it try to install for several hours, but when I came back it was still trying to install the same file.

Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Hello all,

I am a full time college student, part of that (unfortunately) is learning to program in C++. Now, my school gives me a copy of visual studio 2010 in the form of an ISO image. But it seems that no matter what i do it won't install on my deskotp at home.

I've tried downloading the image 3 times now, from 2 different sources (the school site, and onthehub). I tried using daemon tools lite to mount the image and run it, and I burned the image to a dvd (one of the last blank dvds I have left). They both give me the same error. Here is part of the error log:

[02/02/13,11:43:04] Microsoft Application Error Reporting: [2] CMsiComponent::Install() expects the setup file for Microsoft Application Error Reporting, but the file failed verification.
[02/02/13,11:43:04] setup.exe: [2] ISetupComponent:re/Post/Install() failed in ISetupManager::InternalInstallManager() with HRESULT -2147467259.
[02/02/13,11:43:05] VS70pgui: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft Application Error Reporting is not installed.

Basically, it starts the installer, tries to install the error reporting software, and fails somehow.

Is there a way around the error reporting software?

A:Solved: trying to get visual studio to install

If you google the error message (http://tinyurl.com/au3psya) there are other people who have run into the same problem. It isn't clear what the problem is, or if there is a good solution, but if you browse through the results, you'll find some suggestions, and you'll find that some people have been able to work around the problem.

(Sorry for not providing a real answer here, but I didn't see anything conclusive in the results I saw. I'm suggesting that you read the discussions yourself in the hope that it might give you some ideas.) Good luck!

Well, although the beginning may not seem to be on topic, don't worry, it will be.

Okay, so I'm going to be doing Visual Basic programming, and I got Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I had the beta installed way back when. I uninstalled that (or at least I think I did) and now. I went into control panel to uninstall the beta, and it said it was already uninstalled. So I ran the install for Visual Studio, and it said "Please remove all the programs listed below: - Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional Beta 2". So I went back into control panel and uninstalled everything visual studio 2010. I ran the install again, and it said the same thing. So I was thinking, even though it's uninstalled, it may have glitched and didn't tell my computer to edit whatever file says if something's still installed.

So my question was: A is this a reasonable idea, B if so, how would I get to and edit this file?

(I'm on windows 7)

I have tried using the web installers, burning a DVD with the ISO and using the ISO with a DVD drive emulator both in standard and windows safe modes. The exact same results with all.

I need to get this installed asap because I have assignments due soon and need VS to write my code.

My copy is genuine and fully paid for through dreamspark so have no issues with bad copies.

Ok, its really simple I am trying to install Visual Studio 6 Service Pack 5 but, in order to do that you need to have mdac 2.5 or newer so while installing the installer had to exit sense I apparently did not have mdac 2.5 or newer installed.

So after the installer exits it then presents me with an installation manual and tells me what to do. It says download mdac from the Mircrosoft website and put it in the same directory as the Visual Studio 6 Service Pack 5 setup file then run it to install.

I thought to myself "Wow, this is gonna be easy" but no Microsoft presents me with mass amounts of bullsh**. As I install my MDAC 2.8 file in the same directory as the setup I think "Ok, done" but wow, I was wrong....I run the setup the second time thinking it will go through but even after I installed mdac 2.8 I am presented with "You need mdac 2.5 or newer to continue the installation". I have already tried mdac 2.5-2.7 nothing works can someone please enlighten me to what I am doing wrong?

Visual Studio came with one EXE file and 3 RAR files.
TFS came with one EXE file and two RAR files.

I ran the EXE file on both but it did not install either app on my PC. My PC is running Win 7. I'm a mac person, I've no idea what I'm doing but need to get this installed for some coding assignments.

Can someone please tell me? I've been at it all night, searching and reading, it's already 2:30AM and nothing is making any sense.

A:[SOLVED] how to install visual studio 2010 trial

Hi NorCal,

Download the trial from here:
Visual Studio 2010 Trial Downloads | Microsoft Visual Studio

Try running the web installer and follow the wizard. It should then install the application for you.

If it does not create a link on your desktop then go to Start> All Programs - It will be in there under Microsoft Visual Studio.

Hope that helps.

Suggest making a complete system backup first. only use the link in that article if you want to use the Msizap.exe.

This tool is only available in the Windows SDK Components for Windows Installer Developers and should not be redistributed. Use the recent version of Msizap.exe (version 3.1.4000.2726 or greater) that is available in the Windows SDK Components for Windows Installer Developers for Windows Vista or greater. Lesser versions of Msizap.exe can remove information about all updates that have been applied to other applications on the user's computer. If this information is removed, these other applications may need to be removed and reinstalled to receive additional updates.

Hi everyone,

Sorry, had been quite busy these days. I am facing a problem working with visual studio 2005. When i am working on a website switching to the design view is showing some error. It says unhandled exception visual studio is closing and some error named in "devenv.exe." I don't know what is the cause. But it happens only when i switch the code file to design view otherwise no issues.

Please can anyone tell me how to overcome it?

Thanks,

Gopu

A:Error in Visual Studio

found the solution it seems...

Hi everyone,

After a lot of experiments it seems that I finally found why that critical error was showing when I was switching an HTML code to it's design view when working in visual studio 2005.....

Actually i had assigned the background image a z-index which was -1 in the style sheet to make a calendar inside the page visible on top of the content, because it was getting eclipsed by the body when the z-index of the image was initially set to 0.

Indexing an element to -1 is not supported by the visual studio particularly ...but when the page gets on the browser it works well....only thing is that the designing platform (visual studio) does not support it.

When i changed the Z-index of that image back to 0 it worked without any error....

Hope this information would help someone who is in the same trouble.

See you,

Gopu

Hi all. Running Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba Laptop here. After a couple of failed installs of the 2005 SQL server, a few days ago (and its subsequent uninstall), tonight I began getting an error messages that Visual Studio and Visual Basic failed to run. I have since reinstalled Visual Studio C++ 2005 and am down to only one error message. Would I be better off to upgrade to the 2008 version that is available on the web and if so do I need to uninstall the 2005 version first? Thanks, as I have no experience with this particular software and don't know how critical it may or may not be to my system.

I have VS 2012 Professional installed and running. I tried to install VS Express 2013 for Windows. The installer runs and claims success but the program apparently is not there. Ran installer again and chose repair. It says successful. (Both times the message is "Restart" whereas Professional installer gave option to Run.)

VS 2012 Pro is in Program Files (x86) as Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0 and the program is deven.exe.
There is a folder Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0 with similar structure but where I expect deven.exe there is no such file.

One thread said Express will run with VS 2010. Lynda.com tutorials say these can exist side by side.

Anyone running both of these??

I run Windows 7 Ultimate on a 64-bit machine.

A:Visual Studio Express won't install if VS 2012 Professional installed

For me (with VS 2012 Professional) VS Express 2013 Express installed but I couldn't find it. Not in Start Menu and was not named deven.exe as stated in other posts.

For me, it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7 as WDExpress.exe.

No comment on why and no comment on VS 2012 being in Visual Studio 11 folder and VS Express 2013 being in Visual Studio 12 folder. Can't complain about free stuff.

I have a registered version of MS Visual Studio Express Edition 2008. I tried to install Visual C# several times, but each and every time it fails to install SQL service. Same happens to other software in it also. Visual C# get installed without any problem, but the problem is with the SQL service(It displayes a message at the end of the installation saying that SQL installation is failed.). Without that I can't create database based software.

I installed this in another computer, and in there, all get installed fine. I have SQL server 2000 installed in my machine, so I thought that could be because of that, so I uninstalled it and tried to install C# again, but the same is happening, NO SQL SERVICE INSTALLATION. I am a C# beginner, but because of that, I couldn't even begin! So please help me...

I had a very bizarre problem today. I downloaded about 50 .mpg files and put them into a folder on my desktop. I opened one of them, and it worked fine, but after that every time I even opened the folder that the files were in, only half of the thumbnails would appear and then it would tell me that I had a Visual C++ Runtime Error, from explorer.exe aborting. At the same time as this, windows would pop up a little message saying that my virtual memory was low. Later, it popped up a message saying that my Media Player needed to be reinstalled and that my Norton Antivirus needed to be reinstalled. Then it disabled my Norton Firewall and my Norton Antivirus. Lastly, I started getting error messages telling me that my soundcard needed to be configured to handle voice files, by enabling hardware acceleration. The only problem with that was that Windows would not let me access the advanced sound settings!

I am running Windows XP (all patches up to date), 256 MB Ram, 75 Gig HD - so I figured the "low" virtual memory had to be an error. I tried tripling the virual memory to 1GB and also tried letting Windows automatically set the virtual memory size, but neither of these fixed the problem. My immediate thought was that it was a virus or trojan, but Norton VirusScan, Swat-It Trojan Scanner, and System Suite VirusScan all failed to detect anything, and all of them have their definitions up to date.

I ran a Google search to see what other things I should try and none of the... Read more

This Runtime Error appeared without prior warning and I don't know which application may have caused it.

My son likes to record himself playing the guitar with MusicMatch Juke Box, plays back the file with Media Player, plays along with it and records it, he's like a one man band.
Anyways. This was all working fine for quite some time until yesterday.
Open MM, push the record button and a dialoge box pos up with "Microsft Visual C++ Runtime Error", shows the path to the program, you select OK and the prog shuts down.
Any suggestions / ideas are welcome.

I forgot to mention, we tried to DL Quicktime yesterday also, he needed the player for a school porject, it came with iTunes.
We went through the whole install process but neither programs installed. Went through the set up twice and nothing.
Coincidence?

It just keeps getting better.
I was going to do a system restore, All of my restore points are gone.
Heard the kid yell upstairs lastnight "Dad, Whats wrong with the cd burner!!"
I came down only to find out both my optical drives are gone. They have a yellow exclaimation on them in the device manager.

3.) Click on "Find Now"

Welcome to TSG....

To download HJTsetup.exe from SpyKiller To Download HijackThis go to the following at the File Repository
Click on the button for Download to the right of HijackThis Self Installer:

http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTsetup.exe

Save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialog boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialog.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialog box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
At the top of the Notepad HJT log screen, hit Edit then Select All then click Edit and then click Copy doing that copies the text to the clipboard, you won't see it yet....
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply. DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
A security expert with a gold shield to the right of their name should take a look at your log - please be patient.
