How do I stop emails

Q: How do I stop emails

Could some one tell me how to stop email. It's loading my email server up.

A: How do I stop emails

If you are talking about spam, there is only one solution.

Have 2 email addys, one for your friends, and only them. Do not post it on the web or for any reason

Have a second for web purposes.

Sorry that I misunderstood your question, but I think that the adivice that I gave you is timeless. A great way to prevent spam.

Hello, I'm getting hundreds of emails every day saying: A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of itsrecipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:Can anyone please help me as its driving me insane as these are addresses I have not sent emails to

A:how do I stop these emails

I would suspect that your email account has been hacked and it is being used to send out spam email, some of which is bouncing back, hence getting the messages you are receiving. The definitive cure depends on what sort of email you have (webmail, company email, standard ISP email or whatever) but the first thing to do is to log into your email account and change your password - this might be enough but if not then post back with more info."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." By visiting certain sites (Hotels, Shopping, etc etc ) and (I think) by clicking on "understand and agree to terms of agreement" I keep getting unwanted mails from these sites. I have put them in "Block senders list" but I still have to eventually delete them. Is here any way to stop these types of unwanted emails? Thanks in advance.

A:Stop unwanted emails

You are probably getting emails, because you gave it a certains sites. Think about it ever give your addy to get something free or to join a club, etc.
Dont give your address, do what I do. I have a spam address. It online and I could forget about it. If I want some information, but have to give my addy, I give the spam addy.
You do not have to do this with reputable addy, such as your bank, electric company, cable company etc. Just at those sites you do not know. Want to know how much unwanted mail, I get, none?
I is unlikely that because you visit a site, they can pick up your addy.

Hi I have a xp pc with 2 user accounts, one for me and one for my wife. it is the main home pc for our family.
My wife recently bought a new vista lap top which has a wireless connection to the internet via a router. It is also networked to share files and printers on our home network.
she does not use the home pc anymore but still has the user account. We have removed all her email accounts from outlook express. However when the home pc is turned on she does not receive any emails on her laptop even though the home computer is not logged onto her user account. when we add all her account details back into outlook express on the home pc she recives days worth of emails.
If the home pc is turned off she receives emails on her vista lap top.
What we want is for her emails to just be downloaded on her lap top.
why is the home pc grabbing the mail when she does not have any email accounts on it?

Hi guys. I got in this morning and my boss's outlook express is constantly checking for new email, and getting duplicates- sometimes 8 in a row of the same message. Is this viral? Help me out. Thanks.

A:Getting Duplicate emails, won't stop checking for mail.

This can be a sign of a mail blockage on the server.

What type of account has your boss got...i.e POP3 etc? Do you have a webmail facility to check to see if something is corrupt on the server?

Do you get any error messages?

When you send a test email to yourself (from bosses pc to bosses pc), does that repeatedly get downloaded?

Morning all,

Last time I imported a .pst file into a new installation of Outlook '07 it brought in all my emails just fine, but then re-downloaded all of them (because a copy is kept on the server). I now need to do this again on another computer (different .pst and email accounts), and don't want to run into the same problem. How can I avoid this problem?

Also, I read a brief guide on importing the .pst file, and it described adding the email account first, and then importing the .pst. Do I need to do this for all the email accounts before importing the .pst, or just one to gain access to Outlook? I normally use a Mac, and am doing this as a favor for my boss, so please forgive me for the tedious questions!

A:Stop Outlook '07 from re-downloading emails after importing .pst

Hi lukenn

Personally, I just connect the .pst file to the new profile, in Outlook, avoiding the Import process.
Connecting the .pst file is a snap.
File > Open > Outlook Data File
Browse to the location of the .pst file and select it.
But even connecting the .pst file is not going to eliminate the downloading of the older messages. The new profile doesn't know what was downloaded by the previous profile.

What you could do is move everything out of the Inbox, into another folder, before allowing Outlook to connect to the mail server. Then connect to the mail server. After the messages are downloaded you would then be able to delete most of the messages from the Inbox, since they are duplicates.

Or as advised here:
Start Outlook at least once with its new .pst file and allow it to collect the messages.
Then connect the old .pst file and make it the default delivery location.
No, you do not need to configure an e-mail account to access Outlook. You should be able to skip that part of the process.
You do need to configure an e-mail account to do anything beyond accessing Outlook.

Two days ago, I began receiving repeat emails (even up to 10 times), i.e., receiving message 535 of 2655. It was suggested that I create a new profile but after it downloaded all the emails the same problem occurred on that profile as well. It appears to have a never ending loop.

I am back to square one. I have a server on optimum online and of coure the emails are downloaded onto outlook. I have XP Pro version 2002.

I want to know how can we block Spam emails in Outlook Express 6?

I am constantly getting spam emails on my business email id and the number of emails is increasing day by day.

Any help will be appreciated.

A:How to Stop Spam Emails in Outlook Express 6?

Hi bushibashir

One way to stop Spam from entering in your Inbox is to install MailWasher. This program sits on your desktop and all mail comes in via this. From here you can view your mail (without the senders knowing) and delete any you do not want. There is a box you can tick for all Spam emails so that when they arrive again, it will be automaticallly deleted without any more intervention.

At this point, all mail is still on the actual ISP server. Once you have vetted the mail, you can allow in the ones you want into your Inbox without worry.

My daughter used my laptop to set up a Live Mail account for herself. Now every time I switch on my computer I have to type in my User Name and Password as normal but I get a message immediately underneath saying I have X-number of unread emails. These turn out to be emails to my daughter. If she logs in then her email only shows the recent emails that she has not read. My login shows ALL of them. It is becoming frustrating having to delete all her emails.
I assume she has set up a forwarding facilty in her account. How can this be switched off so I don't get her emails.

Good Evening All:
I'm in a really tough situation and any insight or help would be so very much appreciated as I'm off for a week at a business conference and yet so far at least two of my employee laptops are having this issue so far.

-Use outlook 2010 for email
-use as the host
-have had outlook 2010 for a few years now
-RANDOMLY (or so it seems) on Thursday morning me and a co-worker woke up at our hotel and she noticed that all of her emails (even ones she had deleted) were redownloading on her computer (900+)
-The good news was that it was only her computer and once they all downloaded - she just deleted them and things seemed fine
-on Friday, I woke up and my laptop was doing the same thing!

-I don't have "leave a copy of message on server" checked - that is un-checked
-the server shows NO messages on the server

Anyone have any suggestions?

Really, really appreciate any thoughts or help, as email is paramount to my work/day and with all of these duplicates, I can hardly keep up.

Thank you in advance!

Outlook express three days ago, started sending messages we sent out over and over. It would say there was an error in a window pop up, but not say what the error was. I did a spyware and virus scan, had Symantic go through my computer looking for a virus or something my protection wouldn't catch, and they found very little and the problem still exist. I sent myself a test email yesterday to my other computer, and it is still being sent out every 20 minutes or so. My other two computers are not affected and are on the same internet account, so problem not with my ISP. The message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again, or contact the server administrator."

One Touch email is a fine principle

But I want to manage emails on pc and iPhone separately. When I delete an email on my pc using Outlook, I don't want it to delete alreadydownloaded emails on my iPhone. This is how my hotmail accounts work.

Gmail works differently. It syncs all messages immediately on both devices. Can I change Gmail to stop deleting/updating emails. I still want all messages displayed on both devices, whenever I start them.

Alternatively, can I make MS hotmail sync all messages, just like Gmail?

It seems that Yahoo has now started to deliver (dump would be a better term) sponsored emails (spam is my description) into users' mail inboxes. These cannot be selected for removal - as spam, nor even simply deleted...; let alone moved to the junk folder...Any ideas how to get this stopped (blocked or tagged as spam from the start); to prevent them from cluttering up the in-box area at least? It would seem Yahoo may now being doing this as normal practice; and requesting (demanding is my description) that we pay a yearly fee to have this junk stopped...It applies to the mail account when accessed via Yahoo messenger, and the actual or .com website proper. Also received (again via Yahoo) an unrequested promo and invite to to sign up to Facebook - and I don't use that and don't go anywhere near it...Likely if yahoo persist in the junk many of us will leave it - permanently...Any thoughts on removing and blocking this sponsored junk mail from Yahoo sources would be much appreciated...

Hello World,

My Sister has kids who are using computer continuously doing nonsense and not school works. She always been talking to them about the important of school and they don't listen, the warning letter is almost to half the the garbage bin if they have been kept.

We just been discussing "what action should be taken?" I have told her we may install some software like parental control of Windows Vista. because the parental control in not in Windows XP, I am here asking you to tell me "where to get the free/cheaper software that can do they followings:

Limit the hours of using computer.
Automatically computer log off after hours.
Setup the days to use computer.
Block specific website
Stop them from playing games from the internet/computer too
Stop each user from downloading as set up by Admin.
And all those that Admin (parent) can do to prevent the kids from.

To the online games, the bill for the internet is too high because of online playing, watching movies, surfing the web each after each (children).

Mum of the Kids is desperately waiting for your help.
Any help would be grateful and appreciate.
Thanks you

My Sent Items and Inbox folders became filled with emails on Tuesday and I was unable to send or receive emails until I removed several thousand old emails from both folders (which I did, then the system was running fine again as of late Tuesday). I discovered this problem when I attempted to send 3 emails with attachments, making the emails around 5 megabytes each in size (I did not realize that the recipient's system could not handle any email more than 2 megabytes - thus, my Outlook Express kept trying to send these emails every 1 minute for 3 hours until I discovered the problem). I had to delete around 100 email notifications that the recipient could not receive emails at that size and that my email boxes were full.

I corrected these problems and relocated the emails from my Outlook Box to Drafts (until the recipient can change his settings).

All day Wednesday (yesterday) I was able to send & receive emails without a problem. This morning I was sending & recieving as well, then all of a sudden, I was unable to receive any emails. When Outlook attempts to receive, I briefly see a box with the number of emails attempting to be received, then I get an Unknown Error message. I am able to send emails without any problem and my Internet connection has been stable all day.

I've rebooted, turned on & off Outlook. I even disconnected my Internet connection, then reconnected it. I've checked my Outlook settings and they are fine. I also turned off my ... Read more

A:Outlook Express Won't Receive Emails - but Sends Emails with good Internet Connection

Hi rherrygers

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Have you attempted to logon to your ISP's mail server to see what messages are still on the mail server along with determining the size of the messages?
Outlook Express may be timing out trying to download a message that is larger than normal.
Did you also send yourself a copy of the message with the attachment?

Can you post the exact error message please?
If the Send/Receive window is not appearing, you can make it appear by double clicking the area marked in red here:
When the Send/Receive window appears, click the Errors tab, right click on the error message and select Copy and paste the error message here.

SO I check my work email on my blackberry and receive messages there and also on my Outlook Web Access. However, the issue is that when I am looking at the email panel on my Blackberry (not opening the unread emails), it shows the the emails are marked as 'read' on Outlook even though I never actually opened them on the BB. I know it is not Outlook causing this because the settings are marked for "Do not automatically mark items as Read" setting.

How do I solve this situation? I am missing important emails since I get dozens every day, and I can't keep track of them if they are all marked as Read

Help please?

MS Office Outlook sending emails but no emails to send? I have added a few new accounts to my outlook and have had nothing but problems since. It is important that I keep these emails in my outlook, because I work from home and need to access these accounts. I have recently noticed, whenever I hit send receive, the number rises everyday, which now has me concerned. Each account has a different amount "sending", but nothing is in the outbox. IE: account A: sending 1 of 135, Account B: sending 1 of 1020 and so on. I also read online somewhere that if I was a torrent user, that "is" my problem, but I have stopped using it for weeks and there is no traffic going in or out, and I've turned the program off completely.

I've used Outlook for years, with many accounts and have never had problems. I've noticed more problems since this 'sending' message has started. I also noticed, I was the ONLY one at work not getting any SPAM for at least 2 yrs, UNTIL, I took a few days off, went back to work and BAM, hit with SPAM. Its a bloody nuisance because my accounts are linked with "rules and alerts", so if one is infected, all others follow behind! Has one or all of my accounts been compromised? If so, can it be fixed?

I am wondering how to setup an e-mail account in cPanel which will only allow that e-mail to be sent to local e-mail addresses on the same server. For example:

[email protected] can only send to any other e-mail address at that is currently setup on the server. [email protected] can not send e-mails to [email protected] for example.

Is there an easy way to do this? And if so- how would I go about setting this up? (Note: I have both WHM and cPanel access).

Thanks in advance!

Hi All,

Thanks for reading. I have a web based email which is a 123 webmail one. Up until late last week I was receiving emails no problem since then I have had nothing. It's not that I am unpopular.

I have narrowed the problem down to... I can receive emails sent from Google, Yahoo and Hotmail emails. But whenever an email is sent through outlook this outlook email not only does not arrive but it deletes everything else in my inbox.

My head is about to explode with frustration. I don't know what to do or how to solve this.

Looking for inspiration from anywhere.

A:Emails sent from outlook making other emails disappear

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Not sure why mail being sent through Outlook is not actually being sent. Does it report any errors when sending? Are the messages shown as being sent?

If you are having Outlook check for new incoming e-mails on your email account(s), it may be downloading them to your computer and then deleting them from the server. There should be an advanced options setting in Outlook to have it leave incoming messages on the server.

We all have friends who forward emails they have received from others and sometimes they can be a nuisance but other friends don't do it so often that it is annoying and they seem to find very interesting "things" and you would like to continue to open them BUT how can you tell if the email is a result of a hacked "infected" version? I'd like to know what you think of this...

Instead of just forwarding another email you put some text in it to identify it as coming from you (NOT in the subject). Like the following "Hi guys thought you'd like to see another Smith's find" (insert your own last name or a nickname your friends know is really you).

You might even send an email around telling your friends that you are identifying forwarded emails by "Don's favorites" BUT don't use it in the subject line.

I have a big list of email addresses in both .csv and .doc format. I want to send out a one time email advertising my business. It would take an eternity to manually send these out. And preferably I'd like to send one email per address without having a bunch of CC addresses because that will cause it to get flagged as spam.

Any suggestions?

I was asked to give additional info on my problem. I am using windows 7 on internet explorer. We are connected with at&t for the internet. The computer is a 4 month old Dell Inspiron 660 with i5 processor. I recently had a trojan horse that totally messed up my computer so badly that I brought it to a computer repair shop and had windows reloaded. The computer is working fine now. Before the trojan horse I was using Office 2003 and doing all my emails from outlook. When windows was reloaded I uploaded the same Office 2003. I configured emails to go to outlook but for the life of me outgoing emails are getting stuck in the outbox. I can go over to google gmail and both send and receive emails (I just like the outlook setup). There is alot of info on the internet on how to change your emails over to outlook. I am currently using IMAP. I also tried it with POP3 but no matter what I do outgoing emails go to the outbox. I feel the system is configured correctly. I get a message that the info I put in is correct. I have no problem receiving emails on outlook.

What can I do to be able to send emails out using outlook 2003? I can send an email out on google gmail so I don't have a problem with the internet connection. Thanks for your input!!

A:Solved: outgoing emails stuck in outlook 2003. Emails getting stuck in outbox

In almost all cases, it's just a matter of the settings not being correct, maybe the SMTP port number is incorrect or authentication needs to be turned on.

Also, if you had messages already waiting in the Outbox before changing any settings, you should delete those and try sending a new message.

Here's the AT&T settings:

And the configuration steps:
It's pretty close for Outlook 2003.

I am trying to troubleshoot a computer on my work network. I read through many of the guides and forums concerning these issues but cannot seem to resolve. Will start at beginning.

One of the PCs won't boot in any mode, safe mode, restore system to previous state, or normally. It gives the following message : STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file):\systemroot\system32\config\SOFTWARE or its log or alternate. From what I have been reading the way to solve this is to use an xp cd and run recovery console. Unfortunately I am at a small base in Afghanistan and don't have access to this cd.

I have found a few recovery console/boot disk isos that I burned onto cds but when I try to boot from one of these cds it goes to another BSOD which states STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF748E0BF, 0xF780A208, 0xF7809F08) pci.sys - Address F748G0BF base at F7487000, datestamp 3b7d855c.

I would very much like to get into the recovery console to at least try some of the steps I have read in the guides but have thus far had no luck. Does anyone have any information as to why I am getting the second error when I try to boot from CD? Or able to recommend any programs that might work?

Thanks in advance.

Keyboard and mouse stop working

Hi, I'm having some major problems with my Dell Dimension 8400 which runs on Windows XP.
It all started with some files found and replaced during chkdsk.
My PC was working fine yesterday, but today when I turned it on the problem started.
At first, everything is okay. Then, after the initial Windows page the screen goes black and a gray bar appears at the bottom. At this point, the keyboard and mouse shut off (lights go off) and stop working. Once the gray bar has finished loading (1-2 seconds), windows continues to start as usual. The only problem is when I get to the log in screen (where I have multiple user accounts) I cannot choose one to log on with because the keyboard and mouse do not work. I have tried unplugging them and putting them in the USB slot instead but to no avail. I cannot run safemode or anything because the same login screen comes up.
I tried hitting F12 initially and ran hard drive diagnostics which gave me the alarming result:
"Drive 0: ST3160023AS - FAIL - Return Code 7
Drive 2: No device"
Drive CD drive...diagnostics not supported
Drive DVD drive...diagnostics not supported

Any Suggestions? Please help!

Thanks in advance.

A:Keyboard and mouse stop working AND STOP 0X0000007B

Please follow the steps here for the Stop 0x0000007B error:

As you will note, one cause can be a boot sector virus.

Return Code 7 can indicate hard drive failure. Drive 0 is the hard drive.

As for CHKDSK replacing files and causing this problem, it's not likely. Even IF you check both options- fix file system errors and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, it didn't 'cause' the problem, it just made it more evident.

Backup everything you do not want to lose and consider replacing the hard drive.

After installing Vista SP1 and after the restart I received a Stop Error 0x0000c1f5.
This stop error would not let me use the Recovery disk and would not let me boot into safe mode. This happen on a Sony Vaio notebook VGN-NR120E with Vista. I contact Sony and Microsoft with this issue. They all say that Windows 7 will fix this issue and wanted to know if I had a windows 7 DVD. Well if I did I would have not been talking to them at all I would have use the Windows 7 to try to fix the problem or just installed Windows 7. Lets say if your system is lock with a BSOD with this stop error 0x0000c1f5 you will find it very difficult to fix. But I did find a way. Microsoft and Sony were unable to help so this left me on my own. First I tried the program called System Rescue Cd to remove the corrupted $TxfLog file. This did remove the file but still had the stop error 0x0000c1f5. Then I tried Super FDISK. This was able to erase the HDD enough to remove the stop error 0x0000c1f5. Now I was able to use the Recovery Disk to diagnostic the system. Once you erase the HDD with Super FDISK you will not be able to restore Vista. You will have to use the Recovery Dick to wipe clean the HDD and reinstall Vista. During the Disc erase of the HDD using the Recovery Disc I had an error that would not let the program erase all of the data off the HDD. So I downloaded the Drive Fitness Test Cd image program from Hitachi Global Storage Technologies to check the HDD. After the diagnostic test was finish... Read more

Hello there!

I have searched the posts to make sure I was not double posting this and I am having trouble finding some kind of solution to my specific error code.

I want to say first off that I am a MAC user and although I am pretty proficient in PC and have had a lot of luck fixing PC issues I hope you all can bear with me.

So, I am trying to fix my GF's computer and hope to at least get somewhere tonight.... i'm talking about fixing the PC not.... anyways

She has an Inspiron 1520 Laptop running WXP. Basically when we start her up, ....the laptop, it boots for a little bit and then restarts and I get this BSOD:

*** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, oxb8a3192c, oxb9ce9c14, oxbpce9910)

There is nothing else mentioned. It did say something about stopping some BIOS stuff (shadowing..) and driver stuff too.

I read on here about checking a "dump" and running certain things, but as I stated before, I'll need a little guidance if it's no trouble.

Can anyone help me out? That would be really cool and we would appreciate it.

TIA and hope to hear form you!

The Print Spooler on my Asus Win 7 Laptop has stopped working most of the time. I looked at the Services and noticed that Print Spooler seems to repeatedly start and stop but never stabilises. Consequently none of my network printers, PDF creator, XPS printer, etc operate, but they are displayed occasionally in Devices & Printers.
I've looked at C: Windows/System32/Spool/Printers but there are no files to delete.

Any ideas would be most welcome... please.
Many Thanks

I have been getting some pretty bad blue screens lately the first one started out as the "Stop 0x00000101 "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval" BSOD but then I stopped receiving those and started getting "machine_check_exception__Stop: 0x0000009C" though I have got the 0x00000101 two times after the machine check exception BSODS started. So I have included some OS information, my hardware specs, and I have attached a perform report and my Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 file and followed the steps exactly. Though I did zip each folder up then zip the zipped folders together for some inception effect :P

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
It is the original OS on the harddrive
OEM version
I purchased my PC custom built a little over a year ago
The OS has been re installed once since then.

Hardware Specs;
CPU; i7 940 at stock speeds because i'm not comfortable with overclocking
GPU; HiS AMD Radeon 5870
PSU; Zalman 850W
RAM; 8GB, 4gb is patriot G series the other 4gb is g2 series
HDD; 5 Different hard drives >.> I know it's like why so many but it was how the PC came and for the price and components it was worth it.

Hi alex6ber.

In the zip, there is only one crash dump, and that is of 31/05/2012. I doubt that it will give any idea about the present situation.

Attachment 301767

Also, follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

Hi!
I'm new person at this forum, and i want to get some help
When I'm click on my NBA Live 06 icon , shows blue Stop Error Screen :
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try chaging video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Yesterday I had a bad spyware infection on my PC. I was unable to access task manager, and my explorer had crashed, so I had to restart my pc.

When I restarted, I got a STOP: 0x00000024 error message. Then I tried starting in safe mode, which froze at Mup.Sys and then popped up a STOP: 0x00050 message. At the top it said PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

Since then I've booted the PC with NTFS for Dos and ran a chkdsk, which came up with no errors. The hard drive diagnostics on the PC says the harddrive passes the check.

The only thing I've been able to find is:

Possible Cause: Depletion of Nonpaged Pool Memory
If the nonpaged pool memory is completely depleted, this error can stop the system. However, during the indexing process, if the amount of available nonpaged pool memory is very low, another kernel-mode driver requiring nonpaged pool memory can also trigger this error.

Either increase the amount of installed random access memory (RAM), which increases the quantity of nonpaged pool memory available to the kernel, or reduce the number of files on the SFM volume.

I don't really know where to go from here, so any help would be appreciated. The OS is Windows XP Pro.

A:STOP: 0x00000024 and STOP: 0x00000050

Hi ragnarok35

Chkdsk can help with disk problems, but doesn't do anything to remove malware. Did you remove the malware first? If so, what tools did you use?

If you have good recent backups of your data & installable media for Windows and for the programs you use - erase the hard drive & reinstall. Don't reconnect to the Internet or any networks until you have an antivirus and firewall installed and running.

If you don't have good backups yet, backup your personal data first. And scan it for malware before restoring it to a freshly recovered computer.

A quicker, though less secure method: clean the system as thoroughly as possible with a bootable CD/DVD with up-to-date antimalware tools (I recommend making a UBCD4Win DVD --- --- it is free to make, so long as you have a WinXP CD or installation files folder). Once clean, perform an in-place repair reinstall of Windows ---

Best of luck
. . . Gary

I'll attempt to make a very long story short:

Major virus infection on computer resulted in fdisk and reformat. I used Win 98SE to fdisk and reformat, as I couldn't for the life of me find a format on the Dell Operating reinstallation CD. (could be first mistake)

Used Win 98 SE startup diskette to start system w/CD rom support.

Navigated to D: Drive which containe the XP OS reinstallation. Navigated to I386 folder and typed WINNT to begin reinstalling files.

Start WIn XP setup and began copying files to HD.

Screen shows: The MS-DOS based portion of setup is complete. Setup will now restart you computer. After your computer restarts, WIN XP Setup will continue. Remove floppy, etc.

Computer restarts - did inspection of system, shows Win XP Setup, loading files (drivers, controllers, etc.)

Starting windows - Welcom to Setup:
1. Setup - press enter
2. Repair (using Repair Console)
3. Quite - F3

Pressed enter

Next message:

Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer. This may involve running a mfg supplied diagnostics or setup program.

Setup cannot continue Press F3

System then attempts reboot, attempts installation again by booting from HD. Then error message:

Stop error:
Stop: 0x0000007b
(0xf7cb063c, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

At this point I must shut off the PC.

Why can't I stop slow loading pages or pages that can't connect in IE7? They just keep trying to load when I press the Stop Button and sometimes they will eventually freeze on me. the problem seems to be worse with a bad link state or low bandwidth. And by the way I am using Vista Home Premium, please help.

A:Why won't the Stop Button in IE7 stop pages like it should?

I would recommend switching browers to Firefox which would most likely solve all your problems. (if you want you can make firefox look just like IE7 and that way you cannot even tell the difference. There are some pretty exact ones out there.)

The question really says all about what I want to do, or need help on. I recently signed up for a new outlook account to try out the new outlook preview and I've set up gmail to automatically forward new messages to my outlook account so that I can use outlook to manage my gmail account.

Do any of you know how I would be able to forward the old messages, and not the new ones, to my outlook? I already know that they can be fetched into outlook by outlook's very own service, forwarding would be faster, so..?! Also, since I now use outlook to send email on behalf of my gmail account, how do I make it sync each email I send using outlook with my gmail - so that gmail has it all?

TY in advance. Please do help.

hello dear sir
I have the problem with my printers in my office . the printers are HP laser jet 1300 and 2035.
my problems is : After I print a document , printer does not stop and printing white papers until I stop print service or power down the printer.
whenI push ctrl+p  to print ,
some files like shockwave.shd appears in this address." c:\windows\system 32\spooler\printers". and these files never vanished unless i stop the print spooler.
I know that  : The following briefly describes the purpose
of SPL, SHD, and TMP files:

SPL files are the actual spool (print job) files.

TMP files are usually associated with LPR print jobs.

SHD files provide information about which printer the print job was sent to and from
whom the print job came. An SHD file is a "shadow" file that keeps track of what logical printer a (same number) xxxxx.spl file goes to. It also contains the file's order in the queue, the user who sent the file to the printer, and other information.
These files are usually deleted unless the logical printer settings state otherwise.
but these files  never vanished and untils these file were removed manually ,
printer cant print at all.
please help me .

I've recently reinstalled windowsXP.
Even though I can find a working outlook express, I am not sure where I can find the emails, sent and received.
I believe they must be somewhere, like I have found ohter sf, does anyone have an idea?

A:where are my emails??

Hi number

Outlook Express keeps it message files in .dbx files.

First set Windows XP to Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Open My Computer,
Tools > Folder Options > View tab,
under Hidden Files and Folders, verify Show Hidden Files and Folders is selected.
Uncheck: Hide Extensions for known file types.

Open Outlook Express and check if a new Identity has been created:
File > Identities > Manage Identities
Is there more than one Identity listed?
If so, close that window and switch to the other Identity:
File > Switch Identity
Check each Identity to see if you can find your missing folders and messages.

If no additional Identities are listed,
Start > Search > For Files or Folders > All files and folders,
In the field for: all or part of the file name
Key in:
Below that, click on More advanced options
in the field: Type of File, select (All Files and Folders)
place a checkmark in:
Search system folders
Search hidden files and folders
Search subfolders
click Search

Let us know what you find.

I have connected my wife's windows 7 laptop to the internet following the details as described by windows 7. The system used is home networking and I installed incredimail on her laptop while my desktop has outlook express. I did this without informing my ISP.
My problem is that my email can be received and read on my wife's laptop and vice versa. By the way I am on ADSL and all I used was a 10 metre CAT 5E PVC UTP Patch Cable from my Adsl equipment to the Laptop.
Any ideas how I can stop my wife reading my email and vice-versa. Thanks guys.

You control what email is accessed on each PC when you set up each mail program.

Maybe, what you want to do is change the notebook's email setup to "leave a copy on the email server" rather than download it and delete it from the server?

You don't say which email you are using. In Outlook Express if you go to the In Box, highlight the email - go to File - Properties - under Details you should be able to find the information you want. There is also a tab "Message Source".

A:Emails Sent From Myself To Myself?

Assuming you have a good two-way firewall active, and you are reasonably certain that your computer is virus-free, the E-mail you receive from yourself are probably the result of your address having been found on another, but infected, computer, or harvested by spambots from public sites.
You may wish to use one of the many on-line virus scans to double-check your hard drive as a precaution.
